good news !

we’ve set a date to open !

so this evening (april 14) for all you cool cats on the est,pst,cst timezone / tomorrow morning (april 15) for all of us on the gmt+/aest/awst timezones at 10:30am awst or 10:30pm est. we will be officially open for interactions and we cannot wait to start with you all!

make sure you get your character introductions done before our first activity check, which will be held on april 17th in the evening/ april 18th in the morning! so you have plenty of time to get them done!

we, of course, would love to see more people join us and ask us questions! we hope you’re as excited as we are!

hey folks !

as we begin working on our next event and maybe something super fun as well to add to it, we’d like to remind everyone to please reply to open starters as much as you can. to help encourage this, we’ve implemented a new rule:

regarding open starters: you must reply to two opens before you can create your own. new members upon their first character may post a new open starter right away, but it is encouraged to reply to opens that already exist.

if we still do not see replies to opens, we will enact stricter rules, this is to encourage growth among the group and to ensure everyone gets to interact with everyone. to read the rest of our rules, please go here.

also in the future, we highly encourage that you please send any and all concerns to the main off-anonymous so that we can help you better.

you may still apply for a child of tony stark or a child of pepper potts, but they’ll need to be from other pairings.

we hope everyone’s been having a good weekend so far ! we’ll probably be dropping an event update very soon to open classes, but in the meantime, don’t forget about our first task - we’d love to see what everyone’s rooms look like ! there’s also a channel in the discord where you can sort out roommates (and change around if you like !)

finally, a request from the admin team: as the dash is moving very quickly right now and we’re getting quite a lot of new members, some threads may be getting lost. so we’d like to request that ooc posts be kept to a minimum for this time (one or two every now and then should be fine though) thank you !

with the new starter blog ( @academiastarters ) we have a couple of housekeeping rules for you to go along with it.

please reblog from the source not the starter blog - as the person you’re reblogging from will not get the notification for your reply if you reblog from the starter blog. and we do not need the notifications to clog up our feed when we’re looking for starters to reblog for you !

any new starter you create, please tag it with @academiastarters or we will not reblog it. 

that’s about it, so nothing too major - but it’s stuff that helps us keep organized.

Is there any way you can revolt starters that haven’t got many replies?

by revolt did you mean reblog?

if so, we can certainly take a look through the tags and the channels and make a post for all starters and highlight those that have less than four notes to them, to encourage our members to reply!

we can also discuss, as admins, whether or not we should implement any rule regarding starters.

hello folks, just a friendly reminder that our first activity check is coming up very soon. and just so everyone knows (and if you need more info, take a gander at the rules): activity checks will be on friday evenings (est, pst) / saturday mornings (awst, gmt+8).  

in order to not be on the check, you'll need to have done your character introductions and two in-character posts on each character.  (if you are brand new to the group, i.e. just joined - you will need to write your characters bios and at least one in-character post)

if you do end up on the check, and you need an extension, please send a message to the main - to which you can find the correct forms here.

what are your position on race bending?

you can use a poc as the fc for a white character if you’d like!  however, if the character is a poc in canon, we ask that you match that ethnicity. you are not allowed to change the ethnicity of a character who is already canonically a poc.
