is there a rule on age bending?
as long as the faceclaim is 18+, no - not strictly.
let’s say you want to use a fc that’s older, but you want to age them down, that’s okay! as a lot of older fc’s have younger resources.
i, admin b, use eva green for a character and have her as age 28 - when in reality eva is 39!
hope this helps!

so, just as an example, peter parker and morgan stark couldn't date because she's a student and he's a teacher despite her being older than him?
yes, that’s right - most of the students would have grown up with these teachers as much older figures, and the teachers generally do regard the students as ‘our kids’ or ‘kids of our friends’, not withstanding time travel shenigans.
we’ve also spoken to most of the muns playing teachers and they feel personally uncomfortable with this.

Note
would shawn mendes be a eligible fc?
we’re going to tentatively say yes; however, we require the resources from him being used not be from music videos/singing/on stage.

Note
do you guys allow reserving face claims?
we absolutely do ! just let us know what character you’d like to reserve along with the fc (for an oc, you can indicate whose parents they’re a kid of!)

Is there a reason the parents weren't able to go with the kids and just live in the other world?
hello!
the main reason that invitation was extended to the children and not the parents since they would be the ones who would be enrolled in the academy and would benefit from the training. the idea is that they should eventually return to their universe/timeline to defend it, so it’s not a one way trip to the past.
for the academy itself, while it’s huge and well funded, it isn’t really set up to take in a whole influx of non-students.
hope that helps!

is there a list of classes or specializations?
Hello! Nope there isn’t, but you can see the list of what’s currently being taught under the taken page!
Very broadly, we currently have skill based areas such as combat training, mystic arts/magic, mutant powers and espionage, and research/knowledge based areas like science, engineering, leadership/tactics and history. However, we’d love to see more and we’re pretty much open to whatever people want to go with! It doesn’t have to be fighting related either!
We were aiming to go with without a structured curriculum seeing that everyone’s at different places and may want to pick up a more broad based set of skills or something more specific.
Let us know if you have any suggestions or anything you’d really like to see!

Note
if we're applying for a older fc as a child of a family, should they be a teacher?
nope – all children, even if they’re on the older side, would be enrolled in the academy as they never learned or were trained to become heroes in the other world since their parents would’ve all retired + settled down !!

Note
what are your position on race bending?
you can use a poc as the fc for a white character if you’d like!  however, if the character is a poc in canon, we ask that you match that ethnicity. you are not allowed to change the ethnicity of a character who is already canonically a poc.

hi! sorry if this as been asked before but i wanted to clarify, can canon characters be from another universe or is that option only for next-gen OCs?
hi! no problem at all, nonny!
characters like miles morales and gwen stacy can absolutely be from another universe ! as can children of canon characters (billy kaplan and teddy altman are some examples that come to mind). for the adult characters who are generally in the mcu (like the o6 avengers, charles xavier, erik lehnsherr), we’d generally prefer for them to already have been in this universe (as opposed to just turning up suddenly), but feel free to incorporate different canons for them !
hope that helps as a general guide - if you have something specific in mind, feel free to let us know! we’re more than happy to discuss options~

Note
do you have a page of canon characters that could have children together or how many kids are allowed to each character?
hi there!
we don’t have a families page, as it would get very long, so allow me to break it down a bit for you here (which we’ve also included on our application page as well for easy reference) -
we accept children from any pairing of parents - just so long as the parents are not on our banned list. children are pulled from all over the multiverse and since the multiverse is endless, any sort of pairing can work!
when it comes to the amount a parent can have, or the type(bio or adopted) of children: please refer to our taken page here.
hope this clears it up some!

hello! how would people like peter parker or miles morales fit in? would they be staff or students? can peter be from the mcu?
hi anon!
for peter, he can definitely be mcu (or from different canon source material if you prefer!), and since he’s pretty young and green to the superhero business, he could be enrolled in the Academy as a student!
for miles, we can see him as a student from an alternate universe who accepted the offer to come to the academy to study.
if there’s something specific you would like to do, just drop us a message - we’re happy to discuss!

i'm sorry but i'm a bit lost on how to fill out the background for a next gen kid. could you explain how their universe(s) work?
hello! no problem at all!
essentially, you pretty much have a ton of flexibility on the background, because there are an infinite number of timelines and universes. you don’t have to use the mcu as the background. the only general rules for oc children are:
they’re from the future (around 2050 or thereabouts) - this because most of the current canon parents haven’t had kids yet in 2020
they’re a kid of at least one canon character (who doesn’t necessarily have to be a superhero! kids of characters like pepper potts, christine palmer, nick fury, etc are all absolutely welcome)
they can have powers, (like mutants or the spider kids), or they could just be regular people who want to learn how to defend their universe. we actually strongly encourage our players not to make their ocs over-powered - bearing in mind that they don’t have to be super geniuses or have super powers to pick up the mystic arts, combat skills, engineering skills, even medical/healthcare skills and anything else that can be useful.
they’re either untrained or haven’t had much formal training - the academy doesn’t exist in their universe. for example, for non-mutants, their parents may have retired from the superhero business, don’t want their kids to follow their footsteps, or they never knew their parents. for mutants, their powers may not have manifested yet, or they have and they’re keeping them hidden, or they have and they don’t know how to control it well yet. we generally have it that xavier’s school either doesn’t exist in their world or has shut down. you’re free to choose – this plot point is mainly because dr strange would not have extended the invitation to people who were already well skilled and well trained - they wouldn’t benefit much from the training programmes.
the general idea is to give the kids the chance to acquire the skills necessary to save their universe from future threats. however, their reasons for accepting stephen’s offer are entirely up to you. they may have taken up the offer for personal reasons like wanting to meet younger versions of their parents, just for a chance to explore, or because they want to escape their own world. while the general idea is that they are supposed to return to their own time when they feel they’re well equipped enough, this is not a requirement, and they are welcome to stay at the academy for as long as they like.
as for what they want to study at the academy, it doesn’t have to be about combat and warfare, it can be biological, engineering, medicine, alien studies, ancient languages, computer skills  - anything that can useful for a well rounded team!
for canon kids, like miles morales, gwen stacy, billy kaplan, teddy altman etc (all of whom we’d love to see), they’re from whatever universe that they come from, and the above guidelines don’t apply to them.

how do the children work? like, are we able to pick the parents or is there a list of accepted pairings ??
hi there !
there isn’t a list of existing or accepted pairings - you just pick the parents for the children. so basically, the way we have it set up; there’s a multitude of multiverses and doctor strange (from the verse that we have as our main base) went to each of them to retrieve the children for their aid to help train them.
basically, just so long as the parent isn’t banned (or you talk to us first about possibly using a banned parent) we’re generally happy to accept any and all pairings of parents! and if, say, you choose a tony and pepper child, they can come from the same universe as morgan.
hope this clears it up for you! if you have further questions, just let us know ~
