hello hqacademia,

as we know it’s been a week already since we’ve begun and we’d like to kick off our tasks for everyone to enjoy. this one is going to be fairly simple and fun (but we’re going to try to make all the tasks fun!) and it’s completely up to you if you want to partake, but we highly encourage as it can help with character building!

for task one: we’d love to see what you visualize your (for teachers) classroom looks like and (for students) your living quarters. you can use pinterest, unsplash, or any site that will help with aesthetic to show us!

it doesn’t have to be fancy, but please feel free to be as creative as you want to be! and when you’re done, please post it through the photo option here on tumblr and then tag it with #hqa:task and post it to the tasks channel on our discord so that everyone can see your work!

have loads of fun and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

                             TASK 001 :: EIRA THORSDOTTIR

eira chose a double room and to have a roommate – this is primarily due to her constant striving for friendship and socialization, as well as a severe dislike of being alone.

she loves to decorate with bits of bright colors and photographs. she also has a projector to illuminate the ceiling with stars, something she’s had since childhood.

eira is many things, but neat and tidy certainly isn’t one of them. she’s just come out of medical school to work on her residency and still constantly has books and papers laying around.

she also keeps mjölnir hanging on a coatrack by the door. she says the coatrack is worthy.

task # 001 ;; celestias bedroom

a combination of all of the above aesthetics, celestia has filled her room with photos of her mom, herself, bennett, santorini, where she’d grown up, auntie kate, and all of the things she’d collected and created in training with her mother. she keeps her crystals charged and her plants alive and healthy.

❧  dakota had an extreme love for flowers and plants growing up, her mother saying how much she appreciated natural beauty since most of her own was a duplication of other people’s features. with plants, you could control how they looked by cross germination. she was always interested in it as a child and so her love for flowers carried over.

❧ as a criminal justice and biology major, people often overlooked the fact that she was smart because they believed she was just a pretty girl who wasn’t interested in such complex topics. that attitude propelled her forward to work harder, and while her room was delicately decorated she was usually hard at work on her laptop and not messing around.

❧ she has a love for clothes because she thinks how unique each piece is. as a result, her closet is full of things to wear and only growing by the day.

❧ although she sits at the average height of around 5 foot 7 she has a full-sized bed, which she’s grateful for. back home she slept in a twin bed and even a twin in college. you can find her there late at night, with her glasses on looking through the latest files for her espionage classes.

❧ her room is unapologetically hers, and she believes her belongings are the one thing that helps her be identifiable- and she likes things to look very particular. she doesn’t like it when people touch her things without asking, and is a bit of a neat freak.

TASK 001 ;; living quarters

accustomed to the finer things in life, and driven to surround herself with luxury, eleanor laughed at the idea of a roommate, rather, filling the space with her belongings - some of which include the disco ball her mother used in a performance, a large collection of makeup, and fine fabrics surrounding her.

Bennett’s bedroom:

Bennett can be easily overwhelmed so he prefers neutral colours and a clear space. It helps him to stay grounded but also means he is able to wake up to his hour long morning yoga routine without needing to leave for the gym.

When his room is untidy or cluttered he becomes tense and stressed, so everything in it is carefully arranged and organised.

He didn’t bring many belongings from his previous life so the room has been filled with items from the new world. Though he still has fairy lights and science themed posters, they are nothing like the ones from his old bedroom. He needed the place to feel familiar but he couldn’t bear to be reminded too strongly of what he left behind. 

There is always a knitted bear on his bed, proudly wearing a doctor’s uniform. It was a gift from Celestia on their first day in their new world.

His bedsheets are printed with the periodic table, because how could he resist?

A corner of the room is dedicated to computers, with space for any projects he might be working on.
