hufflepuff headcanons pt 1 🦡🍯✨

common room headcanons

- the hufflepuff common room is really warm all the time, throughout summer and winter (a comfortable warmth- not really humidity)

- lots of windows in the common room as well! tons of sunlight streaming in

- a lot in the room is made from wood, giving it a homey vibe

- often smells fresh/clean with a flower scent! fragrance can change depending upon season

- lots of it is really based upon comfort, and has a very relaxed vibe to it

-skincare!! sm skincare. the bathrooms are literally some of the best part of the common room. so relaxed, spa like vibe. it has things from creams to shower scrubs, lotions, fragrances, everything.

-the mirrors in the bathroom are enchanted to show a nice message to anyone who gazes upon themselves

-every holiday they celebrate! everyone gets into the spirit and often spend hours in each others company.

- the. creativity. so many arts and crafts in this house! often you can find someone making something and they are more than willing to let you join in!

-nights in the hufflepuff common room are so relaxing. the windows are enchanted just like the great hall, so you can see directly what the night sky mirrors from the dungeon. often very quiet and lowkey, with soft voices and the crackle of fire the only thing to be heard

-there’s no doubt hufflepuff loves animals. and pets. the amount of clever and cute pet things in the room! enchanted bowls that refill, small tucked away beds, anything you can think of! often the pets get to roam the room freely so you bet you’ll be seeing lots of animals.

-they also love plants! plants everywhere, including the greenhouse attached onto it! there’s too many to count. ferns, flowers, you name it, they have it!

-fairy lights everywhere. that’s it.

-a wall dedicated to pictures of the house members and all achievements! anyone can add to it; the wall is full from the extensive activities of the puffs.

-another wall with a bulletin board! it’s almost a schedule, hufflepuffs are very neat. love planning. small photos, doodles, or messages could be pinned to the board as well.

-need help w classwork? a majority of the puffs prefer to be in the common room over the dorms so it’s not hard to find help! literally the sweetest and will explain till you understand

-food. everywhere- they know the way to the kitchen like the back of their palm. often parties held in the dorm have the best foods, curtesy to the chefs ofc

-vintage decorations everywhere- always has an adorable old timey vibe.

Hufflepuff headcanon

The Hufflepuff common room has an old beat up radio that will play any song you want it too. It's been around for ages, no one knows where it came from or whose it originally was but it's become a staple in any party held at Hogwarts.

To get it to work you tap it twice while saying 'ludio ludius' and then the song name.

Being Cedric’s Little Hufflepuff Buddy

Cedric x Platonic Hufflepuff! Reader

Requested: Yes, by one of my Followers who I can't tag but they know it's out :)

• Being a Hufflepuff, in your opinion, was not easy.

• You loved your house and wore the yellow and black scarf with pride. However, not everyone saw the perks of being a Hufflepuff.

• One day you were walking back from Charms class in second year when a large group of older kids approached you. They ripped your scarf off your neck, dangling it above your head where you couldn't reach. Their words were cruel.

• "Look at the stupid little Hufflepuff. Too much of an idiot to get into any of the other houses."

• "At least Gryffindor's got something going for them. Hufflepuffs are just a bunch of misfits who don't belong anywhere."

• Their taunting laughs echoed in your mind as tears stung in your eyes. At each attempt to grab your scarf their laughs grew louder. It felt like an endless cycle of torture until someone showed up to your rescue.

• "Get away from her."

• You turned around to see Cedric Diggory, the older fifth year Hufflepuff. He was scowling at the boys, a fiery look in his eyes. He snatched your scarf back, pressing it back into your hands. The boys scoffed and walked away. He bent down, worry clouding the previous fire in his eyes. "Are you alright?"

• You nodded but the tears you were holding back had started streaming down your face. Cedric smiled, "Hey. Don't cry. They're just a bunch of jerks. I can reassure you this. Hufflepuff is probably the coolest house to be in." he said, tucking the scarf around your neck, "because we would never do anything as cruel as that. You're so brave and not for trying to fight back but for not being mean back. Kindness is the answer even to those who are cruel to us."

• You smile, a sob-like laugh escaping your lips. Cedric smiled brightly, standing up to his full (and very tall) height. He pulled out his wand and gave a little tap to your cheeks. Weirdly, you started to feel very happy. You looked up Cedric. "Cheering Charm." he responded.

• That day Cedric walked you to your Charms class sending you off with a pumpkin pasty.

• From there Cedric became like an older brother to you. Whenever you had the slightest problem he was always by your side. He helped you with your homework, always making sure you had passing grades. He invited you to his Quidditch games but always made sure you were properly bundled if the conditions were going to be cold.

• Cedric was the one who showed you how to get into the kitchens. One night the two of you stayed up late to make hot cocoa and brownies. It was one of your favorite nights. You had laughed hysterically and Cedric couldn't have been happier.

• He showed you his Patronus when he first learned. He was thrilled and you watched in awe as he cast a large elephant. It's trunk lifting into the air majestically. It was the coolest thing you had seen.

• In fourth year, you were worried when Cedric entered the tournament. He simply gave you a smile and told you he was going to be fine. When he got picked you were proud but also scared. A lot of bad things could happen but seeing Cedric so happy made up for it.

• Cedric got very protective over you in fourth year. Some of the Durmstrang boys and many Hogwarts boys had taken a liking to you and he always stepped in. You had to tell him to back down sometimes when you came across a boy you liked. You didn't want to scare him away and Cedric was perfectly capable of that.

• The Yule Ball was a happy occasion for both you and Cedric as you both had dates you were excited to see. The night was perfect and everything you dreamed of. Cedric even danced a few songs with you although the height difference was a lot to handle.

• You were the person he saves from the Black Lake. He was incredibly worried when you didn't show up at the second task but when he saw you under the water his drive to save you became unbeatable. Cedric dried you up and made sure you were safe and well. You were thrilled that he had gotten first place.

• When the final task came you were reassured Cedric would win. He had survived every other task so you were sure he would win this one. He hugged you and gave you a kiss on the forehead before leaving into the maze.

• When Harry brought him back dead you screamed. Mr. Diggory was hugging you into his side as you both sobbed, looking over the dead body of you best friend. Your older brother. Your family.

• You never fully recovered from Cedric's death but in fifth year in Dumbledore's army you recalled the distant memory of you and Cedric in the kitchen. The ball of blue light that left your want made you sob.

• It was an elephant.

Sytherin: *looking up* ya know, away.

Hufflepuff: *still searching for the griddle* why do you insist upon hiding all of my things ?

Sytherin: you mean cleaning.

Hufflepuff: no, I mean constantly moving my ish. *giving up* if I don't find the griddle you're not getting dinner

Sytherin: *gets up a grabs the griddle that puff managed to overlook at Least twice*

Hufflepuff: fuck.

If Cedric hadn’t died I really think him and Harry would have been really good friends after the Triwizard Tournament.

They’re both such humble, sweet boys. And when he offers to help Harry over to take the cup I just get such a vision of Harry being Cedric’s “little dude.” Ruffling his hair when he passes him in the hall. Carrying him around on his shoulder at the Hogwarts celebration party. Cedric teaching Harry how to have normal social interactions. They’d still be so competitive over quidditch but it’d be in a much more sportsman like way.
