i just saw a comic where Rumi comes out to the girls as half demon but they initially assume she's actually just trans and throw her a party.

I think Zoey and Mira have fully discussed this possibility between themselves and have made a plan for when Rumi decides to come out. In their minds that's part of the reason why Rumi doesn't come to the bath house or show her arms. Body dysmorphia.

When they did kind of piece this narrative together in their heads they started casually throwing comments into conversations about hating terfs, being trans allies and wanting to be there for more queer fans.

At some point they probably even overtly were like Rumi we're going to donate to an organization dedicated to helping trans people and Rumi confused asf just hands them her credit card and is like sure just don't max out the card.

Mira and Zoey aren't sure what they're doing wrong. Because they read through every single blog post and wikihow page on how to be there for one's trans friend. They decide to just let it play out in the end because they don't want to pressure Rumi into coming out

i think zoey's neurodivergent too, not me projecting at all its just there.

the divorce arc would also make sense for her feeling never enough because no matter whose side she picks she can't catch a break. we see a glimpse of that when she's struggling to choose between accepting Rumi or not. (it's really subtle but I love how that with Zoey they make it a lot more clear that she's just mad about the lying not the demonness necessarily)

I totally agree with the gifted kid track too, just feels right for Zoey because her rhyme game goes really hard amongst other things

Is Zoey a child of divorce?

She's also (at least I think so) neurodivergent and is afraid she comes off as "too much" so I wonder if she blames herself for putting strain on her parent's relationship?

Her not enough mentality, being seen as the glamorous State-sider by the fans, combined with her role as lead lyricist (which she's clearly excels at) makes me wonder if she was also labeled a gifted kid in school since we often see her get paired with school imagery particularly during Golden.

For Saja Boys, if one of them sees a demon near you, he'll send a warning, like a haunting whistle of a known tune — Soda Pop or Your Idol, really.

For Huntrix, I think it goes to a comedic tone because holy shit!! Demon near!!

They respect the demons. Demons are already struggling as they are, and they just didn't know that you belong to them.

Likewise, the demons respect the Saja Boys. They'll comply with their wishes. If anything, you just earned the protection of all demons.

If Gwi-Ma learns about you, well, I don't think he'd give a darn — one soul is a small price to pay for billions. (Just have to wait 'til they're sick of you or something. Or old age. Old fire's waited this long.)

Huntrix

First and foremost, they'd need to distract you from seeing the weapons in their hands and the demon itself. It's probably the smoothest thing though, and you won't ever see it 'cause they're literally doing it behind your back.

Oops, you dropped your wallet. You crouch down and at the same time the Huntrix member throws her weapon at the demon. You stand up again, seeing her innocent smile.

Yerp, just like that. They struggle more than the Saja Boys unfortunately.

Rumi Chronic Pain Headcanons

Rumi’s patterns ache regularly, especially when her shame is the worst but sometimes for seemingly no reason.

The pain ranges from a sharp sting to a deep ache that reaches the bone.

At it's worst, it's all the patterns but sometimes it can be in a specific place, often correlating with an insecurity.

It’s been there for as long as she can remember and just like hiding her patterns, she also tries to hide the fact that she’s in pain.

She believed that she ‘deserved it’ for being a mistake.

She developed a high pain tolerance and while fighting demons she’d miss that she’s been injured until Mira or Zoey pointed it out.

After accepting herself at the end of the movie it doesn’t happen as often but it doesn’t entirely go away.

Going to the bathhouse becomes her favourite way to relax and to relieve the pain both because the heat soothes her and because being with her friends is a good distraction.

Admitting that she’s in pain is quite hard for her.

Mira is the fastest to notice and will always ask if she’s okay and will bring her honey and ginger tea even when Rumi tries to brush her off.

She discovers that the pain is relieved when someone touches them. Massages, especially in the highest pain areas, are really soothing.

Zoey uses this as an excuse to hug Rumi even more.

Opening up to Celine is the hardest. Rumi finds it hard to comprehend that Celine never noticed the pain throughout her whole childhood. Or did she also think that she deserved it?

On the worst pain days Mira and Zoey make her sit out dance rehearsals to focus on herself. Sometimes they all skip and have a bathhouse or couch day.

Bobby being the chillest manager ever is obviously fine about this. In general, he becomes an awesome advocate for her, along with Mira and Zoey, when she struggles to ask for accomidations.

Once she gets more comfortable with the concept she starts to open up on talk shows and advocate for disability awareness.

i need like blueprints of what the Huntr/x tower looks like because i know the top level is their living space and it has two floors (at least) but then i wanna know what is the REST of the tower. and i think there's a spa in the tower as well bc after the How It's Done concert they had taken all their makeup off and had their hair wrapped and stuff???

highkey think that Zoey does the lip bite a lot. half the time in practice she's just biting her lip because Mira and Rumi are fine af. it's an unconscious movement that happens when she's looking consciously ifyk wt i mean.

at some point the instructors probably had to train her out of it because she did it way too much and they can't have one of their members very obviously oogling the others in the background.

Mira probably clocks it early on and takes it as a compliment. Rumi is clueless. Mira probably points it out to her much much later and she has a lightbulb moment.

The notion of being one early on into your sex life tgt doesn't seem likely to me, especially considering her tendency to people please despite her not wanting to admit it, though she doesn't complain at ALL

Being a service bottom means she gets to get off on satisfying you according to what's asked of her, and being a pillow princess, while she does struggle a little to sit still, is by GOD Something she doesn't know she's needed until she's done it. But being a brat is a whole other thing—it's disobeying you and going against what you want to do. It shouldn't sound that serious but in her head it's like. Unfathomable. She LOVES being a good girl for you, why would she want to go against that?

When she finally opens up to the dynamic, it'll probably have to be when she's much more open to wanting things for herself too rather than going along with what you'd want to do. It starts off with smaller things, like pausing in the midst of eating you out deliberately and small rebellions like that. But she progresses into something more when she starts to get comfortable about it, like getting you riled up 'on accident' or even flashing you playfully while in costume if she's feeling particularly bratty. You end up getting a clue that she wants to try it for real when not only does she discuss it with you, but when she has such a wicked, impish grin and basically goes "make me" 😄 and the floodgates OPEN

After that, depending on her mood, she'll either want to be a good girl or actively challenge you for the fun of it. She LOVES receiving praise, though while I can't see ANY of the trio being into heavy degredation, she DOES turn out to like acting out and being called out for her bratty behaviour. It helps that she'd be a bit of a masochist too 😜 and most likely into being a rope bunny 😜 and after a Shocking discovery, VERY into all sorts of fun punishments 😜 FREAK all the way

ok but what about age regressor mira 🙋 who wakes up scared and alone and for just a second the shadows remind her of her cold and empty room as a kid, and then she’s clutching her blanket and stumping down the hall to zoey’s room and she climbs into bed with her awkward kid arms and legs, and she tugs on zoey’s shirt sleeve and whispers, “zoey? are you there?”

and zoey wakes up, blinking the sleep from her eyes, and sees a scared little girl and doesn’t think anything of it, just pulls little mira into a big hug and whispers, “yes, im here, it’s okay! it was just a bad dream, don’t worry. how about we go get rumi?”

and the two of them cross the hall to rumi’s door, hand in hand, and zoey knocks softly. rumi is still awake, revising costume designs, but when she sees her girls, and especially mira, looking so small, she takes their hands and tucks them both into her big soft bed.

“rumi too,” says mira in a small voice, and so rumi turns off the light and climbs in as well, and mira falls asleep happy in her family’s arms, like she’s always wanted.

✧ They’re a little codependent but the sprinkles of toxicity are mutual so it cancels out

✧ Mystery never wants to go anywhere if Zoe isn’t going. He goes to social stuff because she goes and he wants to spend time with her.

✧ Zoey will still go to things on her own sometimes, leaving Mystery to hangout at home, but she spends a lot of time on her phone texting him and always leaves earlier than she would have if Mystery was with her

✧ This is entirely her choice, not once has he ever asked her to come home or complained about her going out. She just misses him extra hard sometimes and finds herself getting bored way faster when he isn’t around

✧ If it was up to either of them, they’d be together literally all of the time.

✧ In reality he’s still just curious about her and not all humans. No other ones, really. Maybe the rest of Huntrix, barely. he could handle her friends because they were extensions of Zoey.

✧ Zoey forgets what stories she’s told and what conversations she’s had with what people, so it doesn’t really click together that she just happens to know at least a little bit about pretty much about everything he asks

✧ he’s not doing it with manipulative intentions. Dude just genuinely could not care less about anything if he can’t play ‘seven degrees of Zoey Huntrix’ with it

✧ He compliments her multiple times a day, usually just blurting out something he was thinking as opposed to any sort of setup or cute delivery. In his eyes he’s just saying things that are true, but Zoey always giggles and thanks him anyways

✧ Zoey is a crazy good baker. Mystery will hangout in the kitchen with her, sitting down and staying the hell out of her way as she zooms between cupboards
