Life is always full of unexpected things, events that sometimes you wish you could know would happen beforehand so you could be prepared in case you need to protect yourself from something, or someone.
Unfortunately, you just couldn’t have control of most of the things that could happen, and that led you to be disappointed many, many times.
For example, the fact that your last relationship would end abruptly after you faced the truth of your boyfriend cheating after a year of being together when you were about to graduate from high school. It was a moment you should’ve spent getting ready for college and enjoy your youth with friends while you waited for classes to start, and it would’ve been that way if only you hadn’t spent the majority of it crying yourself to sleep and wondering where did you get wrong.
You had moved out of your house to the campus dorms, forcing yourself to be homesick in one of the hardest times of your life. Luckily, your best friend Minji, although not sharing the same room with you, was going to the same college as you, a thing that would surely help you to slowly put your pieces back together.
You felt grateful to have her, but also remorseful, because she had been the one who had been dealing with you the whole time, trying her best to cheer you up, to give you advice even when she knew perfectly well she was talking to deaf ears, and hug you tight when your confidence crumbled time after time. She had no obligation to stand by you, to stop going out and missing fun times because of you, yet she did, because that’s how much of a great friend she was and how much she loved you.
When the first day of class arrived, she didn’t hesitate to show up at your door, knocking loudly with excitement you surely didn’t understand. You were thankful that you didn’t have a roommate at the moment, or else you would’ve been in trouble. You got out of bed and dragged your sleepy form to the door, opening it and turning around right away, going back to your bed.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?!” Minji asked with a frown as she stretched out her hand to clasp it around your wrist, stopping you in your tracks. You turned your head in her direction, eyes still pressed shut as a whine slipped from your lips. She sighed, now placing her hands on her hips. “It’s the first day y/n! The start of something brand new! New atmospheres, new friends, new  teachers, new boys!” She exclaimed, fists waving in the air in excitement.
You finally opened your eyes, the sudden light making them sore as you run your fingers through your messy hair.
“Minji, it’s 7 a.m. My classes don’t start till 9. Why would you wake me up this early?” You complained, trying once again to go back to your bed.
To no avail, cause she stopped you again.
“Listen to me.” She said firmly, turning your body and placing both of her hands on your shoulders, which forced you to look into her perfectly styled eyes. “You need enough time to get ready. Are you planning on showing up looking all groggy and untidy?”
“For all that I care.” You shrugged, stepping back from her grasp before she stopped you again, making you groan in frustration.
“No, no, my lady. You are going to take a shower right now, dress up nicely and show the world what you are made of. The love of your life could be out there, you can’t be looking like a homeless rat.”
You frowned at her words.
“Hey! First of all, I’m not a homeless rat, and second, I don’t want to find the “love of my life.” You should know that by now, men are trash.”
She rolled her eyes.
“Now go, take a shower and I’ll pick something nice for you to wear. Hurry up!” She insisted, slightly pushing you towards the bathroom and closing the door with you inside.
You sighed in defeat, looking at yourself in the mirror. That was going to be a long year.
Tumblr media
“Don’t you think that maybe, just maybe this is too much? We’re going to class, not a party.” You asked as Minji applied more blush to your cheeks. She rolled her eyes once again.
“Uhm, no? The first impression is the most important. You need to look good, and it’s not even that much makeup anyway. You look natural and beautiful.” She responded, a smile forming on her lips at the sight of you, feeling proud at the work she had done. “Look.” She addressed, turning your chair so you could take a look in the mirror.
In all honesty, you looked better than you thought you would. Your long hair was naturally falling in waves, and your face was glowing even with just a simple eyeliner and some coral lip tint. Your clothes were simple as well, probably a combination you wouldn’t have made on your own, but still very much your style.
“Actually...” You muttered, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, eyes still glued to your reflection.
“Cute, right?”
You sighed, turning to your friend with a small smile, nodding afterward.
“Yes. I thought it’d be too much and that I wouldn’t look like me, but I like it. I’m impressed, you know my style.”
Minji giggled.
“Well, all these years of friendship had to be of help someday.” She affirmed. “Now, close your eyes.”
“What are you doing?” You asked with a frown, she just groaned.
“Perfume. Close your eyes.” She repeated, and you complied.
She sprayed the sweet vanilla scent all over you, almost making you cough in response.
“Why do I need perfume? Again, we’re just going to class.”
Minji clicked her tongue.
“Y/N, you always need to be as presentable as possible, and smell nice, you never know what life has prepared for you.”
“Minji... Again, I’m not looking-”
“Let’s go, we’re going to be late.” She interrupted you, grabbing your hand and dragging you out of your dorm with your backpacks in hand.
The first half of the day went smoothly. Your teachers were nice and the whole college atmosphere wasn't as wild or bad as you thought it'd be.
Lunch break had finally come and you were excited to let Minji know about your day. Entering the cafeteria, you quickly spotted her waiting in line to get her food. Arms crossed over her chest and body weight resting on one of her legs, she didn't seem as pleased. You approached, placing your hand on her shoulder and startling her. She yelped as her head turned around, a hand flying to her chest in a try to soothe her racing heart.
"Jesus Christ y/n, warn a bitch, would you?!"
You couldn't help but let out a laugh. She glared at you in response.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." You assured, rubbing both of her arms with your hands apologetically. "How's your day being so far? You won't believe it, all of my teachers turned out to be sweet and we have this subject I can't wait to learn from. Also, I think I made a friend, her name is Areum and she's from Jeju Island."
Minji listened to your blabbering with a soft smile on her face. She was happy to see you excited, it had been a while.
It was her turn and she grabbed her food, walking next to you to one of the empty tables. You kept focused on your experiences until you finally noticed how much you had been talking and smiled at her apologetically once again.
Your expression didn't go unnoticed by your friend, who was quick to just wave it off and keep eating.
"Don't worry, keep going!"
You smiled, shaking your head.
"It's your turn, I wanna know about your day as well. Please tell me how it went."
Minji kept munching on her food, then sighed.
"Awful." She stated. "I knew this major wasn't made for me, and we barely started. Plus, I think my teachers already hate me."
Your brows furrowed together, tilting your head in confusion. You were well aware that Minji had picked the law major cause that's what her parents wanted, but deep down both of you hoped that she could slowly start to like it.
"I mean... We just started, give it a chance, maybe you'll like it later?"
She shrugged.
"Unlikely." She assured. "I find the whole thing about laws ridiculously boring. I'm afraid I just made the worst decision of my life."
You cocked your mouth, stretching out your hand and placing it on her arm to give her reassurance. She smiled at the gesture.
“If you ever decide to switch to fashion design, I’ll be the first one to support you.”
“Thank you.” She responded, and you just nodded. “Anyways, what about boys? Did you find a cute one who shares classes with you?”
You glared at her and she shrugged.
“No. I already told you a hundred times that I’m not looking for cute boys. No one is worth the pain and effort. I’m better off alone, I’m still trying to heal.”
You meant every word you said to her. However, deep down you knew she was right, that maybe it was time for you to move on and start living your life with no regrets, try to stop the fear from consuming you. She wanted you to be happy, she wanted you to find someone who loved and treated you right, and you understood, but you weren’t ready. You refused to believe there was someone out there who could fill the void in your heart after so many disappointments.
So she just kept silent, not wanting to keep pushing you. You both spent the rest of the lunchtime gossiping and talking about that new tv series you wanted to watch together. A while later, you were walking right beside her to your last class of the day.
The corridors were crowded with students, you kept brushing shoulders with other people cause there wasn’t enough space for all of you to walk comfortably, but you decided to ignore it.
Until you got distracted and collided with a firm chest. You almost lost your balance, but thankfully, Minji stopped you from falling on your butt. Still, some of the books you had been holding against your chest fell on the floor.
You were quick to squat down and start picking up the mess you made with both your and the other person’s belongings.
“I’m sorry.” You apologized automatically. You hadn’t even seen who it was, until a hand accidentally brushed with yours, making your gaze go upwards.
A pair of dark brown eyes suddenly met with yours. A brown-haired boy with bangs that fell perfectly over his eyes, pale skin, and pretty lips. You had never seen him before, but the way his lips curled upwards mixed with the way his intense gaze pierced your soul did nothing but make the rest of the world disappear in an instant.
“I’m sorry, too. I wasn’t looking properly.” He said. His voice was soft and sweet and your brain suddenly stopped working. He stood up and so did you, but mostly on autopilot as your eyes kept glued to his form. He handed you the books and you didn’t react until Minji elbowed you and pulled you out of your thoughts. Blinking a couple of times, you smiled and grabbed your stuff before you bowed to him. He did nothing but smile at you one more time, before lightly bowing his head in response. “Sorry again.” He repeated, walking away from you.
Your eyes unconsciously followed him as he disappeared through the crowd of people, and it wasn’t until Minji started chuckling that you didn’t go back to reality.
Turning your head to look at her with a frown, she just smiled at you.
“What’s so funny?” You asked, starting to walk again.
“You, of course.” She responded. “You lost your ability to speak as soon as you saw him, hm? Can’t blame you on that, he was one hell of a gorgeous man.”
You rolled your eyes at her and she just laughed again.
“I was just embarrassed. Do not start with your nonsense.”
“You just bumped into a hot guy on your first day of college, that being something that only happens in dramas, I call it fate.” She says proudly. “See why you need to always look good?”
“We’re not in a drama, Minji.” You retorted. “It was just an accident. I will probably never see him again. There’s not a thing like fate.”
Minji placed her arm around your neck and sighed.
“Whatever you say.” She teased. “I noticed the way your cheeks turned red. So cute.”
You clicked your tongue and removed her arm from you.
“Whatever. I’m running late for class. I’ll see you later.”
You would never admit it, but from that day on you knew you wouldn’t be able to forget that face.
Tumblr media
In a blink of an eye, Friday had arrived. You had barely managed to get out of bed and go to your first class. The classroom was almost empty, a thing you attributed to the early hour in the morning. You made your way to the second row and took a seat, placing your bag next to your leg on the floor. Your lids were heavy and the cold weather wasn’t helping with your drowsiness at all.
Earphones on, a big hoodie covering your small hands completely. You folded your arms over your desk and rested your cheek on them, trying your best not to drift off in slumber.
Deep down you wished you had had a little while to take a short nap, but unfortunately, it didn’t take long for other students to start walking through the door, and shortly after, it was the teacher who did.
You sat up straight, slightly stretching your arms and running your fingers through your hair as you took off your earphones. You shifted your body to place them back in your bag, the door still being constantly opened and closed behind you. However, as soon as you looked up, you watched the same guy you had bumped into days before looking for an empty seat. His slim figure making its way to the seat in front of you, the frame of his glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. Your eyes met briefly as he approached, your heart started hammering in your chest when a soft smile formed on his lips. That simple gesture seemed to cause every bit of sleepiness vanishes from your body.
He had recognized you.
He took his backpack off his shoulder and proceeded to sit. You suddenly felt nervous, hands sweating and teeth sinking on your bottom lip nervously. Why would you feel nervous to share a class with a guy whose name you didn’t even know?
You gulped the dryness of your throat away. It was annoying to you that you could even feel your cheeks burning, and he had only barely smiled at you.
But you surely weren’t prepared to see such a beautiful and delicate face two times in the same week.
It was ridiculous, incoherent the way you didn’t seem to be able to focus. Your legs bouncing, your hands sweating and your gaze glued to your desk. You felt like anything you did could make him turn around and see you, and for some reason, you didn’t feel like you could stand his eyes on you again. Why did you care so much about a total stranger? Not even you knew the answer, but since you didn’t expect him to share classes with you, the reality seemed to have hit on you a lot harder.
You pressed your eyes shut, trying your best not to lose your mind over the smell of his cologne with every breath you took. Determined to pay attention, you opened them once again and looked at the teacher, but right when you did, he was already packing up his stuff.
“Okay, that’s it for today.” Your eyes widened in shock. How was it possible that you had spent the last hour and half zoning out because of a boy you didn’t even know? Feeling embarrassed, you rubbed your forehead and groaned low enough for only you to notice. “However, before the class is dismissed, I’m going to pair you up for a project you’ll have to get done before the end of the month. Your partners will be picked aleatorily, and no changes will be accepted.”
The teacher fixed his glasses, taking a seat to check on his notes. You took a deep breath as you waited for your name to be called, fidgeting with your fingers as you felt the boy in front of your shift in his seat.
You couldn’t help but think that somehow he could feel the stare all over him, probably making him uncomfortable. However, you didn’t have much time to think about it, cause your name was next.
“Y/N?” The man called, searching for the owner of the name. You lifted your hand nervously, and he nodded with a soft smile. “There you are... Let’s see...” He muttered, looking once again to his notes. “With Huang Renjun.”
Your brows furrowed together, cause you had no idea who that was. A couple of names were next, and then, finally, the class was dismissed.
You grabbed your bag and stood up from your seat, hiking it on your shoulder.
“Y/N, right?”
Your eyes flew open at the sound of his voice. Looking up, your gaze met with his, a soft smile on his lips.
You wanted to speak, but words seemed to get stuck in your throat. You simply nodded.
He stretched out his hand with a book, lending it to you.
“I think I took this from you by mistake the other day.” He said, and your cheeks burned in embarrassment. Your shaky hands moved to grab the book.
“Thank you.” You barely managed to say. “Sorry about that, again.”
The boy just shook his head, the same gentle smile plastered on his handsome face.
“Don’t be, it was my bad.” He assured, slightly turning his body to walk away, but then looking back at you. “By the way, I wrote my number on the last page. We should meet soon.”
Your heartbeat increased, finding it absurd and hard to believe that someone who looked like him would want to go out with you, especially when you didn’t even know his name.
“W-What?” You stuttered, feeling the urge to look away from his piercing gaze. Your cheeks burning all over again, a thing that didn’t go unnoticed by him.
“For the project.” He stated. Your eyes widened and your mouth went agape, but since he noticed the way you struggled to speak, he just pointed his finger at him. “Huang Renjun.” He smiled. “I’ll see you soon.”
With that, he just walked away and exited the classroom.
It had to be a joke. First, you bumped into him, and now he was selected out of over 20 other classmates to be your partner in a project? What kind of wicked game was that?
You took a seat again, trying to regain your composure. Running your hands over your face, you let out a small groan.
“What the hell...” You mumbled to yourself, sighing. Then you opened the book he had given back to you and went straight to the last page, finding his handwriting.
+82 -115-5540-209 Renjun :)
You bit your lip, trying to stop the growing smile on your face from showing up.
Shaking your head, you placed the book in your bag and walked out of the classroom.
Tumblr media
You were sitting on one of the empty tables placed in the cafeteria. Resting your chin in the palm of your hand, your eyes roamed all over the place while you waited for Minji to finally arrive.
The place was considerably crowded, everyone having lunch with their respective groups of friends, chattering happily.
In one of the nearest tables, there he was, eating peacefully with other three male friends. Your eyes didn’t hesitate to be glued to his figure, noticing how different girls went back and forth, some of them sitting in front of him, or others just getting close to, what you assumed, was saying hello.
He always had that sweet smile on his face, no matter who was around. You wondered if it was out of politeness or he was happy all the time.
He also seemed to be popular, considering the way random people greeted him in the distance or whenever they walked past his table. In all honesty, it wasn’t really surprising to you.
He was handsome, and although you only spoke to him twice, he had an aura that made you, and possibly the rest of the people, feel comfortable. You still didn’t know what it was, but there was something that made people be drawn to him, a thing that scared you to bits.
You were still deep in thoughts, all the possible scenarios and questions about him completely pulling you out of reality.
Until his eyes found you, all over again.
And he smiled, at you.
But you felt embarrassed that he kept finding you staring at him, which made you look away.
You felt it. The way your heart was beating loud enough to feel it on your neck.
“Gosh, finally!” Minji suddenly spoke, sitting in front of you and snapping you back to reality.
“Huh?”
Minji arched a brow.
“I said finally. I was about to lose it if I had to wait any longer for my food.” She explained, grabbing on her chopsticks. “What were you doing? You look red.”
You let out a nervous laugh.
“Nothing.” You assured. “How was your class?”
Minji shrugged.
“Boring... Of course.”
You turned your head in his direction again, not paying attention to anything Minji was saying.
“Y/N?” She called, making you turn your head. “Are you sure you’re okay?” She insisted, looking in the direction you were staring at not long ago. She was fast to notice. “Ooh, it’s the pretty boy from the other day.” She smirked, and you sighed.
“You won’t believe what happened.”
Minji looked at you as she slurped on her noodles, nodding her head slightly and inviting you to proceed.
“He’s in my class.” You said. Your best friend’s eyes widened in shock, opening her mouth to speak before you interrupted her. “That’s not all...” You sighed. “We got paired up for a project.” You added.
Minji choked on her food. She started coughing and palming her chest as she took a sip of her drink. You looked at her concerned, but when she regained her composure, she managed to speak.
“What?!”
You rested your forehead against your palm, not sure if in either defeat or disbelief, nodding.
“To make it even better, I just kept embarrassing myself in front of him. Turns out he had one of my books since the day we bumped into each other, so when he gave it back to me, my brain stopped working and I started stuttering.”
Minji chuckled, gaining a glare in response.
“Y/N, this is just magnificent! Don’t you just love the way fate works?” She exclaimed excitedly, placing her palms together.
You frowned.
“Fate? Stop with your nonsense, Minji.” You warned. “This is nothing but some kind of wicked game from life to make a fool of myself.”
Minji rolled her eyes at your pessimism.
“Do you even know his name, at least?”
You nodded again.
“Renjun.” You muttered for only the two of you to hear. “He also gave me his number.”
Minji gasped in both excitement and surprise, almost loud enough for people around to hear. You threatened her with a glare to keep quiet, and she got the hint.
Leaning forward, she started to yell-whisper.
“And you doubt this is fate?” She asked in disbelief. “First you bump into him, then he’s in the same class as you are, and to add the cherry on top, he ends up being your partner in a project. Seriously, y/n, how dense can you be?”
You rolled your eyes again, shaking your head afterward.
“It’s just casualty, Minji. Don’t be dramatic.”
Your friend seemed to be getting frustrated, so she took a deep breath.
“Yeah, sure. Out of all the people on this campus, you keep finding him, and just him. Maybe this is a sign, y/n, maybe it’s time for you to slowly let someone else in, to open up your heart.”
You knew her intentions were the best, but the sole idea of someone tearing down the walls you tried so hard to build scared you to death. You were determined not to let yourself even consider Renjun as a possibility, no matter how handsome, or kind he could be. You wouldn’t let anyone break your heart and soul ever again.
“This isn’t a fairytale.” You calmly said. “He gave me his number for the project. We don’t even know each other, why would he be interested in me? Stop daydreaming; besides... Look at him. I’m sure he’s popular since he’s always surrounded by people, especially pretty girls.” You addressed, glancing at him from over your shoulder.
Minji stared at you, raising a brow.
“I think you’re being too harsh on yourself. Yeah, maybe you don’t know each other just yet, but you’ll have to spend time together and you will get closer.” She explained. “Why don’t you see all of these alleged ‘casualties’ as an opportunity to meet someone special? God, even if it was just as friends. So what if he’s popular? That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t like you, and about those pretty girls you mentioned, have you seen yourself? You’re just as pretty as they are, if not better.”
Although she didn’t seem to understand the reason behind your insecurities, her words still found a way to your heart and made you feel better. You certainly felt lucky to have a friend like her, but you weren’t ready to even think about those possibilities she had mentioned, so you decided to change the subject.
“Alright, whatever you say. Just tell me about your day instead, enough talking about me.”
Sighing in defeat, Minji wiped her mouth with a napkin and pushed the tray aside.
“Well, as I said, it was pretty boring... However, someone made it better in the end.” She smirked, making you tilt your head in confusion.
“What? Who?”
“You’ll see; there was this guy waiting out of my classroom. He’s super hot; chocolate hair, broad shoulders, a body to die for... Oh, and he has that dazzling smile t-”
“Focus!” You exclaimed, interrupting her. “So he wasn’t even in your class?”
Minji shook her head.
“Nope. He’s like a year older.”
You frowned.
“Wait... What if he was waiting for his girlfriend or something?”
“He wasn’t.” She assured. “I already talked to him and he’s nice and single. His sister is the one who shares the class with me.”
“You what? You just saw him and then talked to him out of the blue?” You asked, your face grimacing in confusion.
She smiled.
“Actually, yes.” She shrugged. “Nothing much, I just asked for some indications. Turns out he wouldn’t shut up and he’s really funny. You wouldn’t believe it with the way he looks.” She giggled. “Anyways, we ended up flirting and exchanging numbers.”
You listened to her attentively, eyes wide open.
“You are bold, aren’t you?” You chuckled, she shrugged again.
“He’s way too hot not to try.”
You laughed, standing up from your seat as she followed suit. After throwing the leftovers in the trash, the two of you linked your arms and walked out of the cafeteria.
“What was his name, anyway?” You asked.
“Jaemin.” She responded with a smile. “Na Jaemin.”
Tumblr media
It was finally weekend, and you had spent most of the Saturday morning doing the chores and even stopping by the convenience store to buy groceries. You were the kind of person who enjoyed spending some time alone, relaxing, and maybe watching some series, however, you also enjoyed good company, and that’s why Minji would often spend time with you.
You had the option to stay at the campus in your new dorm, but nothing really compared to the warmth of your home; and since you still didn’t have a roommate assigned and your small dept was nearby, you had decided to leave, at least back then that classes had you started and you weren’t drowning in homework yet.
You had found yourself staring down at Renjun’s number, wondering if you would ever have the guts to text him first. The idea kept making you feel uneasy and you kept finding excuses to delay the inevitable interaction, for the time being, thinking that you still had a few weeks to do so.
As you were laying on your couch with a random movie playing in the background, you scrolled down your social media, soon being interrupted by a new message from Minji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You know, when you told me about this party, you forgot to tell me it was TODAY!” You complained, head resting on a cushion and eyes closed as your best friend did your makeup.
“When did you think it’d be? It’s obvious it was going to be tonight, why would I be so insistent if not?”
“Because you knew I wouldn’t want to go?”
“I would’ve slowly persuaded you anyways.”
She finished applying your eyeliner and straightened her figure. As soon as you were sure it had dried, you opened your eyes to glare at her.
“I can still stay at home.”
Minji rolled her eyes.
“No, you won’t.” She stated. “Look at you, you’re a stunner.” She added, a proud smile forming on her lips.
You stood up from the chair and took a look in the mirror.
Truthfully, you were surprised.
Your hair fell in perfect beach waves down your shoulders. The cute top and high-waisted skirt hugged your body perfectly, and your makeup was subtle but elegant. You did look good.
“Wow.” You muttered, the pads of your fingers slightly brushing strands of your hair, eyes still glued to your reflection.
Minji, who also looked like a goddess in a skin-tight red dress, placed her hands on her hips and grinned.
“I know right? If Renjun isn’t attending the party, you surely will find another hot guy.”
You sighed, turning your head to look into her eyes.
“Minji, the only reason I’m doing this it’s because you asked me to. I am not looking for a date, it doesn’t matter if it’s Renjun or someone else. You know how I feel about this topic.”
Minji rolled her eyes but smiled afterward. She stepped forward and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I understand.” She admitted. “I just... Want you to have fun and try your best to at least meet new people. I want you to feel like a queen tonight because that’s exactly what you are, alright?”
You smiled at her kind words. Your heartfelt warmth knowing that no matter what she was always going to be by your side.
You nodded.
“Okay. I’ll try my best to have fun.”
She grinned, but her smile slowly faded and turned into a look of concern.
“Do you think Jaemin will like me?” She asked with a pout, running her hands lightly over her dress.
You chuckled, placing your arms on her shoulders.
“Jaemin will fall head over heels for you.”
She smiled brightly again, wrapping you in a tight hug.
“Okay, let’s call an uber, we better get going soon!”
Ten minutes later, you were both on your way to that frat house you knew nothing about. Minji was texting back and forth with whom you assumed was Jaemin. You kept fidgeting with your fingers, nervous in anticipation, considering that you hadn’t attended a party for a long time. You probably wouldn’t know anyone aside from Minji, and the idea of socializing with strangers that were going to be consuming alcohol honestly made you anxious.
The car parked in front of a large building, a two-floor house with walls covered in bricks. Minji opened the door and hopped out of the car, with you following behind.
You took a deep, shaky breath through your nose, anxiety already filling up your senses and freezing you on the spot.
“Wow! So cool!” Minji exclaimed in a squeal, then turned her head in your direction at the lack of response. With furrowed brows, she clasped her hand around your wrist, the sudden warmth bringing you back to earth. “You okay?” She asked and you nodded with a forced smile on your lips. “Relax, just have fun, okay?”
She pulled you with her, finally making your way to the front door.
The music blaring from the inside reverberated all around the place, and a strong smell of nicotine and alcohol welcomed you the moment the door cracked open.
A tall, brown-haired man with a gorgeous face stood in front of you. Wearing a tight navy dressing shirt that was perfectly tucked into his black pants, two buttons undone that offered you a glimpse of his strong chest. The way a smile grew on his face at the sight of your friend certainly hinted who he was.
“Jaemin!” Minji exclaimed, finally breaking the silence.
“I’m glad you came.” He said, eyes then averting to land on you.
“She’s my best friend.” Minji was quick to clarify, pulling you by the hand to stand next to her.
You smiled politely, stretching out your hand for him.
“Nice to meet you, I’m y/n.”
Jaemin’s large hand wrapped around yours, squeezing it very lightly.
“My pleasure.” He responded with a kind smile and a small bow of his head. “Na Jaemin.”
As soon as he released the grasp on your hand, he moved aside and gestured for the both of you to step in.
Following behind your friend and the young man, your eyes traveled around. A very rustic decoration was what you first met with. Wooden furniture carpeted floors, and walls painted in a basic cream tone. You could see various paintings hanging on them, and you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking how cliché it was.
Neon flashing lights turned the place into some sort of club imitation. The loud music and voices in the background were making it hard for you to hear your thoughts, and that was enough for you to realize how hard it’d be for you to have a real conversation with anyone.
“You can drink or eat whatever you want, the kitchen is right there,” Jaemin spoke, pointing to the first room on the right side. “We have different kinds of beverages, alcoholic and alcohol-free. Do not hesitate to serve yourselves and if you need anything just ask me or whoever is around. We only have nice people in here.” He added, a bright grin on his face.
“That sounds perfect,” Minji responded. The way your friend was undressing him with her eyes didn’t go unnoticed by you. Elbowing her on the rib, she turned her head to look at you confusedly.
“You’re drooling and you can’t even dissimulate.” You whispered in her ear with a chuckle, she just shrugged.
“He’s hot as fuck.” She whispered back, making you laugh quietly and shake your head.
“Okay, what if we go to the living room and find somewhere to seat?” Jaemin asked, both of you nodded in sync.
He led you through the crowded area, finally finding an empty spot on a couch at the corner of the room. You two took a seat, he just dragged another chair and sat in front of you.
Truthfully, Jaemin turned out to be funnier than you could. Your abdomen was sore from all the laughing, and you could even admit you had been having a good time with him and Minji for about an hour until someone called out his name.
Jaemin stood up and excused himself.
“Don’t worry, go ahead.” Minji smiled, and he returned the gesture.
“I’ll be back.”
When he walked away, Minji took the opportunity to talk about how whipped she already was for him, and you couldn’t blame her. You talked for a while, eyeing everyone and even, you must admit, criticizing other people’s outfits.
Minji then leaned to whisper in your ear.
“I’ll go grab something to eat and drink.” She said softly. “Want anything?”
You gave it a brief thought. To be honest, you didn’t feel like drinking, so you just shook your head.
With a nod, Minji stood up and left towards the kitchen, leaving you on your own in that unknown space.
The smell of sweat and smoke seemed to be getting stronger by the second. The rhythm of the music resonated inside your chest, and although you tried your best, you couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
As you looked around, your eyes landed on someone you weren’t expecting to see there. With a red plastic cup in hand and some other people talking to him, it was surprising to you that your eyes always crossed paths across the room.
The soft locks of his brown hair were styled, parted to the side. Dressed in a white buttoned-up shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of converse. You wondered how was it possible for someone to look so good in something so simple.
Unbeknownst to you, he was the one who was shocked by the way you looked.
Because he thought you were naturally cute.
But that night, you were the most beautiful one in the room.
That characteristic, soft smile of his crept into his beautiful features. The room was dark, but he still glowed naturally. You smiled back at him, sparks erupting in both your chest and stomach. He stepped closer but stopped in his tracks right when someone placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Y/N?”
You turned your head and your eyes widened in shock at the sight of the man in front of you. No words came out of your mouth, and his smile only grew bigger.
“It’s you.” He spoke again. “It’s been a while, I never thought I’d see you here. You look beautiful.”
Your stomach sank and your chest tightened just like your throat did.
Jet black, longer hair, perfect but strong features, and the same intense eyes you used to get lost in. There he was, the one you had loved so much and the same one who broke your heart.
Your ex-boyfriend.
“W-What are you doing here?” That was all you managed to say. His brows furrowed, and he tilted his head.
“I live here now.” He said as a matter-of-factly. You immediately felt like running away.
“I... Have to go look for someone.” You stood up from the couch, ready to leave and get away from him. However, he grabbed you by the wrist and stopped you.
A pleading look in his eyes made your insides churn, the way he kept being so attractive was almost nauseating, terrifying to you.
“Please, let’s talk... I just want to apologize.”
“I can’t, sorry.” You refused, retracting your hand away from his. He wanted to object, but you stormed out of that living room, walking through the first glass door you found.
The cold breeze hit your already shivering body, feet clumsily taking you to the other side of that backyard as you tried your best to avoid the drunken bodies that were dancing in the middle of the grassy floor.
You kept feeling lost and shocked, your heart racing faster than a shooting star, not knowing where to go. You heard your name being called again, followed by his touch. This time, the hold on you was more firm, two hands placed on your shoulders and turning you around. The same dark orbs that kept haunting you for so long threatened to take your breath again.
“Y/N, stop running away.” He demanded. “I just want to say that I’m sorry for what I did.” He sighed, moving his hands away from you when he stopped fearing you’d walk away. He ran his fingers through his hair, looking for the right words to say. “She... Didn’t mean anything.” He assured. “I never stopped thinking about you. I realized what I had done when I lost you. I was wrong, you were the one who loved me the most, and I wanted to chase after you, I did, but I was scared.” He continued, your eyes burning with unshed tears. “Now that I see you here, I can finally say all of this to you.”
You let out a humorless laugh, making him frown.
“Really, Jeno? After all this time I spent trying to pick up the pieces of me that you, so carelessly, tore apart? You think you can just corner me the first chance you get and tell me you miss me?”
Your tone was stone cold, a thing that didn’t match your true feelings. He stepped closer, but you stepped back.
“I’m sorry.” He repeated like a mantra. “What we have is special, we can get through this together... Please give me another chance.”
You shook your head.
“There’s not ‘we’ anymore. There’s nothing between us, Jeno. For so long I waited for this moment to come, but now it’s too late. You murdered all the love I had for you the day you decided to leave me for someone else.”
“Listen, I know I fucked up, but we can-”
“No. Please leave me alone.”
You know he wouldn’t just leave. He was stubborn and used to get whatever he wanted. Your anxiety and frustration were just about to reach their peak, but then someone else’s voice joined the conversation.
“Babe, here you are.” Both you and Jeno watched as this brown-haired boy walked towards you. “Here’s the drink you wanted. Sorry for making you wait.” He said. Your eyes met his again, his smile invited you to trust him and play along while your heart reacted at the sudden pet name.
You grabbed the cup he offered you, smiling sweetly at him.
“Thank you. I was wondering why was it taking you so long.”
He quickly placed his arm around your shoulder blades, his touch making all of the fear and cold fade away. His presence and body were warm, comfortable. It made you feel safe.
Jeno looked confused, taken aback, upset.
“Who’s this?”
Before you could say something, he interrupted you.
“Huang Renjun. Her date.” He smiled, stretching out his hand for Jeno to shake, but well aware of the fact that he wouldn’t accept it. He just wanted to piss him off.
Your eyes flew open and your cheeks burned at the title. Just the idea of that stranger being somebody to you made your tummy full of butterflies.
Jeno’s eyes traveled from him and then went back to you, then laughed.
“Nice try. You’re not with her. She was by herself when I found her.”
“That’s because I went for a drink for her. She was waiting for me, then you appeared and started bugging her.” Renjun explained, voice still soft and honey-filled.
Your former lover was in disbelief, and to be fair, so were you.
“Bullshit. She wouldn’t date anyone else. She loves me.” He insisted, reaching out to grab your wrist, but Renjun stepped forward to stand in the middle of the two of you, stopping him with a hand on Jeno’s chest, a warning look on his face, not even caring that the other man was taller and visibly muscled.
“Can’t you see she keeps pushing you away?” Renjun asked calmly. “Do you not know what ‘no’ means?”
Anger started showing on Joochan’s face.
“I already told you.” You finally spoke. “There’s nothing between us. You killed everything.”
“Y/N I swear to god.” He protested, once again trying to step closer.
“Stop.” Renjun spat. “She’s with me now. Leave her alone.”
Jeno looked at you one last time, finally facing the truth.
“Tell me you want to be with him and I’ll leave, forever.”
Renjun turned his head to look at you, a bit shocked by his request and probably thinking the whole facade was about to be destroyed.
But you smiled at him, and he then smiled back.
“I do.” You said, looking back at the black-haired boy. “I want to be with him.”
Jeno stood there silently for a brief moment, jaw clenching and hands on his hips, eyes looking down to his feet. Sighing, he then nodded, turning around and finally walking away.
Your phone buzzed in your purse, an incoming text from Minji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’m so sorry you had to do that.” You said softly after placing your phone back in your purse, rubbing your temples with your fingers.
Renjun shook his head.
“Don’t apologize. I’m glad I was of help.”
You two took a seat on one of the benches. It didn’t take long for all of your feelings to start flowing out of your body. Tears started streaming down your cheeks, and you tried your best to wipe them away, embarrassed that he had to see you like that. He placed his hand on top of yours, squeezing it slightly in a sign of support.
“Thank you.” You muttered in a cracked voice, looking up at him with a sad smile. He smiled back and nodded. “I surely wasn’t expecting something like this to happen when I agreed to come. That was really embarrassing.”
“I’m sorry you had to. I know how hard it must’ve been for you. But, don’t feel embarrassed, he’s the one who should feel ashamed.”
“It’s just...” You sighed. “Why did he have to appear now? After all this time, when I was starting to feel like myself again.”
“Don’t let this bring you down. I don’t know what he did, but considering the way you’re feeling, he probably doesn’t deserve it.”
You looked down at your lap.
“I know I shouldn’t let this get to me... But there’s also this part of me that keeps wondering if maybe I wasn’t good enough and that’s why he cheated on me.”
Your confession made Renjun’s heart ache. He probably didn’t know you at all, but he thought that no one deserved such treatment, especially because he already felt like you were different.
“Look,” Renjun spoke, making you look up at him before he lifted his hand and wiped your tears with the velvet touch of his thumb. “No matter what or how it happens, if someone makes you doubt yourself like this when they were supposed to love you, then you’re with the wrong person.”
His words were comforting, touching despite not knowing the whole story behind your heartbreak. You squeezed his hand in return and smiled. You barely knew him and he already made you feel safe.
“You’re right.” You admitted. “But this whole thing was enough for me. I think I’m heading home now.”
“Where’s your friend?”
You shrugged.
“Probably somewhere with Jaemin.”
You stood up and straightened the fabric of your skirt before rubbing your arms. Renjun followed suit, making you confused.
“I’ll walk you home.”
“You don’t h-”
Renjun smiled.
“I want to.” He said. “I won’t let you leave alone.”
“But...”
“I don’t feel like staying here anymore, anyways.”
You couldn’t hide the growing smile on your lips, looking away as a blush covered your burning cheeks.
“Okay.” You nodded. “Thank you.”
Renjun tucked his hands in his pockets.
“That’s what partners are for.”
Tumblr media
Your relationship with Renjun blossomed into a close friendship since that party. You had started working on your project and spending a lot of time together. You laughed together and seemed to connect well. He was patient, understanding, and probably the sweetest person you had known.
And even if you wouldn’t want to admit it, you had a big fat crush on him that only got stronger each time you spent together.
Simple things like the sound of his voice, the way his eyes became smaller when he smiled, the sound of his laugh, or the sweet smell of his cologne were making it harder for you to stop thinking about him.
The last couple of weeks consisted of a recurrent exchange of texts and visits to the library. Everything became considerably easier since you decided to stay at your dorm, and you even got a roommate assigned. Her name was Areum, and she was really sweet and fun to be around.
You were placing some of your notebooks back in your locker, closing it, and hooking your backpack on your shoulder to leave towards the library the moment Renjun approached you from behind, taking your bag away from you and startling you in the process.
“God, you scared me.” You whined a hand pressed to your chest. He chuckled.
“Since we’re going to the same place, I thought I’d help you carry this.” He said, placing your bag on his shoulder.
“Why would y-”
“What do you have inside? Rocks?”
You chuckled.
“Kind of.”
As you made your way to the place where you’d work on your project, you could feel all the stares on you. A lot of the female students didn’t like the fact that you spent so much time together. But to be honest, you didn’t care at all.
After a while, you were about to finish the project, but there was some information you didn’t find anywhere. Renjun suggested looking for a book in the back of the library.
“There’s the book we need!” You exclaimed, pointing to the upper part of a bookshelf. “And it’s too high.” You cried out.
Renjun squatted down in front of you.
“Come here.”
You frowned.
“No way.”
“Do you have another option?”
Your cheeks burned at the idea, but he was right.
You sat on his shoulders and he slowly got up. You squealed trying to keep your balance, both of his hands holding your thighs.
“Please be careful! I don’t want us to break our neck.” You laughed, stretching out your arms to reach the book.
“Less talking and more grabbing the book.” Renjun groaned, chuckling afterward.
“Wait, hold on, I’m almost there.”
With a little bit of effort, you finally reached it. Renjun helped you to get off his shoulders and then cracked his neck.
“Thank God.”
You pouted, smacking his chest. He laughed.
You both sat at the table you were working on and proceeded to finish your task. After about two hours, you finally had it done.
“Finally!” You exclaimed, hands up in the air.
Renjun rested his chin in his palm, staring at you. He wondered how someone could be that cute so effortlessly.
However, the buzzing of your phone gained your attention.
Jeno’s name popped on the screen, and your smile vanished.
Renjun’s brows furrowed together at the change of demeanor, understanding as soon as he saw who was calling you. As your eyes kept glued to the screen, he moved his hand and placed it over yours, placing it down along with your phone. You looked at him and he smiled, you smiled back, remembering all of the words he said to you. He was right. It was time to move on.
So you just left your phone on the wooden surface, letting it buzz as much as it needed. You felt thankful for the way he supported you. You felt thankful for him.
“It’s okay. You’re way better than that.”
You nodded.
“I know.”
"Good.” He said. “Have you talked to Minji yet?”
You shook your head. You had been avoiding her since the night of the party. You were upset with her, and despite the number of times she had called, you still refused to pick up or face her.
“You should.”
“I know... I just don’t know if I’m ready.”
“We all make mistakes.” He stated. “Do not let them define anyone.”
You tilted your head.
“Then what about... Him?”
Renjun shook his head.
“Being unfaithful is not a mistake, it’s a decision.” He stated. “A dumb one, by the way.”
His words got stuck in your head and that night you gave it a deep thought. Minji was your best friend and the way you reacted to the whole situation was a bit childish. It wasn’t her fault that Jeno was there, let alone that he approached you. She just happened to have the guy she liked wanting to be with her for a while, and you couldn’t blame her for wanting it to happen.
Cause you would have done the same.
Maybe if things hadn’t happened the way they did, you wouldn’t have gotten so close to Renjun. You wouldn’t have left your past heartbreak behind, and you wouldn’t know how different people are.
That’s why you decided to talk to her, adding the chocolate bar you found in your locker with a sticky note that said.
“Stop being so hard-headed. Smile and forgive. :) - Renjun.”
Minji looked surprised the moment you stepped into the empty classroom you wanted to reunite at. She smiled sadly, standing up from the chair she was sitting on.
“Y/N... I’m so sorry. I know I shouldn’t have left you alone. You’re right in being mad at me, but I can’t stand you pushing me away. I just really, really like this guy and I couldn’t just stop myself from wanting to be with him. I’m a terrible friend but I love you so much. I went to find you and I saw you with Renjun and Jeno, I know it wasn’t the best decision, but I didn’t want to interrupt.”
You frowned.
“You... Knew it?”
She nodded.
“I’m sorry... I just wanted you to give him a chance. There’s something about him, I just wanted you to feel it too.”
“What do you mean?”
She sighed, stepping closer to you and grabbing your hands.
“The way he looks at you, the way you keep bumping into each other. I don’t know, I didn’t think about it that much, I just felt that was the right thing to do. Please, please forgive me.”
You stayed silent for a moment. In other circumstances, you would’ve gotten even angrier at the fact that she didn’t say anything, that she knew what happened that night and didn’t do anything about it. But truthfully, somehow she had done something right. It was Renjun you were talking about, and maybe, just maybe, you were starting to see what she meant.
“I forgive you.” You smiled. Minji’s eyes sparkled as a grin formed on her lips.
“Really?”
You nodded.
“Obviously.” You chuckled. “But next time, just tell me you’re going to hook up so I don’t wait.”
Minji laughed, wrapping you in a tight hug.
“Deal.”
Tumblr media
You had approved your project, and you were currently on a small break. It was snowing outside, and you were laying on your bed with your phone in your hands when you got a message.
Tumblr media
You got up from your bed and grabbed your coat before putting your boots on and leaving the dorm.
It didn’t take long to get there, and you found him standing in front of the lake with his hands tucked in his coat pockets.
“Renjun?”
He turned around at the sound of your voice. His cheeks and nose were tinted in red due to the cold, but even like that you could’ve sworn he was the most beautiful thing in the world.
You stood there for a while, not saying much, just enjoying each other’s company. The silence was comfortable, peaceful, and the place was beautifully covered in snow.
“How have you been feeling?” He suddenly asked, still looking ahead. His melodic voice dripping with honey through your ears made it hard for you to bite back a smile.
“I’m doing good.” You said. “In good part thanks to you.”
Renjun looked at you, heart secretly hammering inside his chest.
“How come?”
You smiled.
“I don’t think you’re aware of how much you’ve helped me.” You confessed. “We had this particular way of walking into one another’s life, but it was like... It just had to happen, and I’m really glad it did.”
“I’m glad, too.”
He turned around to face you, and so you did, meeting his gentle eyes.
“You’re one of a kind, Renjun.” You stated. “No wonder why everyone wants to be around you.”
Renjun looked at you, not saying anything. His eyes were filled with adoration, a thing you didn’t seem to notice just yet.
He took off his scarf and wrapped it around your neck. Your heart melted at the gesture, his warmth and scent lingering in the piece of clothing, almost making your head spin.
“Do you think everyone wants to be around me?”
You laughed, nodding the shyness away.
“Of course. Seems like you’re the only one who hasn’t noticed.”
Renjun’s lips curled upwards in a gentle smirk.
“Ignorance is bliss, or so they say.”
“Is it?”
Renjun stepped forward.
“You tell me since you seem to be ignorant as well.”
You tilted your head in confusion, frowning.
“What?”
He lifted his hand and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear. His touch made you freeze on the spot, sparks flying through your body.
“How long do I have to wait until you notice?”
“Until I n-notice w-what?” You stuttered out. He sighed, stepping even closer.
You felt your breath hitch in your throat, but you couldn’t move. His warm one fanned on your face, he was so close you felt dizzy. Your hands were shaking, but you couldn’t stop him.
And you didn’t want to, either.
“How much I like you. How I would trade that so-called popularity to have only you around.” He breathed, mere inches apart from your face.
Your eyes flew open, fixated only on him. He took your quietness as an opportunity to cup your face in his hands and start to lean in. His mouth was ghosting over yours and your eyes were closing almost automatically while he was looking for any sign of discomfort on them. He got closer, slowly, and his lips touched yours slightly until he finally closed the gap and kissed you.
It was short, brief, but warm, and sweet. Like the touch of petals. You loved the feeling, you craved more, you needed more.
And that scared you to death.
So you pulled away, a panicked look on your face.
“I’m sorry.” He apologized. You shook your head, walking backward.
“I... Have to go.” You said, turning around and running away.
You heard him calling out for you, but you didn’t look back.
You coward. Dumb girl.
You left him just like that, probably thinking he wasn’t enough, that he had done something wrong when it was the complete opposite.
There was nothing he could’ve done wrong. He was the closest thing to perfection.
But you still decided to break his heart, and you regretted it immediately.
You got into your dorm and thanked God that Areum wasn’t going to be there for the rest of the weekend. With shaky hands, you took off your shoes and coat before you grabbed your phone and texted Minji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down and already feeling terrible for leaving him like that. You decided to text him, hoping that he wouldn’t hate you.
Tumblr media
You placed your phone on the table, trying to organize your thoughts. You wanted to say so many things, but you were sure you wouldn’t be able to even if you practiced.
That was such a mix of emotions you were experiencing, the proof that Renjun had been the only one who had made you feel so alive.
He knocked on the door, and you opened. He looked down at you with a sad smile on his face that made your heart break. Moving aside, you invited him to come in and he did, taking off his coat and shoes.
“Y/N, again... I’m s-”
“No, please let me speak.” You said, turning around and interrupting him.
He just nodded.
You sighed.
“I’m sorry for leaving you like that, Renjun. I’m sorry for treating you like this after everything you’ve done for me. I’m sorry for making you think that I don’t like you.”
“You-”
You nodded, an apologetic smile on your face.
“I’ve liked you since the first day we bumped into each other.” You admitted. “At first, your mere presence took my breath away, but the more I knew you, the more I wanted you.” You stepped forward. “I’m so scared of feeling this way again, you know what I’ve been through. I’m scared of the way I need you to make my day better, of the way you’re the first thing I think in the morning and the last when I go to sleep.” Your tone became softer. “I’m afraid because I still think you’re not real after all the people that have come into and out of my life, I can’t believe I could finally say I stumbled into the arms of the one. I’m terrified of losing you, terrified of how much you make me feel.”
“What if I said you’re not the only one that’s scared?” He asked softly. “I’m scared too. The only difference is, that I’m terrified of not being able to have you, afraid of not deserving you.”
“That’s not possible, Renjunnie. You’ve been so good to me. You’ve treated me like no one else has.”
“Because that’s the way you deserve to be treated. And you shouldn’t settle for less. I want you to believe that not because I happened to be in love with you, but because it’s true. However, I can assure you that I'm not going anywhere. Not if you ask me to stay."
Renjun smiled, brushing your hair back with his fingers and letting the pads of them caress your cheek in the end as you keep speaking.
He was infatuated. You were so pure, so good and beautiful. He just wanted to take care of you, to show you how true love felt. He wanted to heal all of your wounds, to fight your fears away. He wanted to love you as no one else did before.
“Renjun, you have no idea of how much you’ve made me feel. Remember when Jeno asked me if I wanted to be with you?” You asked, he nodded. “I didn’t lie. I didn’t know you that much back then, but deep down, I just knew. It was like one day when I least expected it, you appeared like a dream to me.”
“Y/N, I-”
“Please... Just stay. Please don’t be a dream, don’t hurt me, don’t leave me cause I want you so bad. Pl-”
He shut you up with another kiss. This time, you melt into it, wrapping your arms around his neck and diving in. He held you by the nape of your neck, pulling you even more into him as your lips moved smoothly together. The feeling of his lips again ignited nothing but the fire inside your body. He kissed you like no one ever had. Moving his sweet and soft lips on yours ever so slowly, deeply, granting you the most delicious, slight sucks whenever they became open-mouthed.
Your fingers found their way through his hair, and you started walking backward, pulling him with you towards your room, then, to your bed.
As soon as the back of your knees hit the mattress, he laid you down gently, briefly parting from your lips to crawl on the bed until he hovered over you with one of his thighs between your legs, supporting his weight with his elbows at the sides of your head. He stared down at you with glazed, sparkly eyes, running his fingers through your hair. You looked at him carefully, drinking him in, every inch of his face, every breath he took. The way his lips were red and swollen, screaming to be devoured all over again, to have you taste them for so long you wouldn’t be able to erase the feeling or the aftertaste anymore.
God, he was the most beautiful human being you had ever laid eyes on.
“I would never hurt you.” He breathed. “I am lucky to have you. Everyone is lucky to have you. Remember what I said about being with the wrong person if they made you doubt yourself?”
You nodded.
“I do.”
He smiled.
“I liked you back then when I barely knew you, and I love you now. I will make sure you know how special you are to me every single day from now on. You will never doubt yourself again.”
You grinned, cupping his face with your hands.
“Why me? With all those beautiful girls dying to be with you?"
"How could it not be you? When you stood out from the rest without even trying?" He smiled. “You have the most unique way of walking into my life.”
Your heart raced, grinning. "You’re one in a million, Huang Renjun.” You said before pulling him by the nape and reattaching your lips with his.
Renjun tilted his head to the right and deepened the kiss, tongues meeting for the first time and sending electricity through your veins. You savored his lips as your life depended on them. They felt soft on yours, they were addicting, they made your head spin.
His hands traveled from your face to your waist, gently squeezing on your flesh as he broke the kiss and started trailing open-mouthed ones down your neck. The feeling made you shiver in the best of ways, and it only increased the moment he gently sucked on your collarbone. You bit your lip in response, tangling your fingers in his soft locks. His hands carefully slid under your shirt, cold fingers circling over your hip, showing interest in moving upwards.
“Renjun” You moaned, a thing that made his stomach flip. He pulled away from your neck and went back to your lips briefly, finally breaking the kiss as you both panted.
“Do you want me to stop?”
You got lost in his beautiful eyes, finally noticing the way they reflected his adoration for you. Your heart shook, your stomach felt butterflies, you needed him.
“No. Please don’t. There’s nothing I want more than you.”
He smiled, his beautifully white teeth showing as a breathy chuckle slipped from his lips. He kissed you again, bodies pressed flush together, getting hotter with every touch. Your hands decided to test the waters and you slid them under his shirt as well. The warmth of his soft skin was inviting, too tempting for you to stop. You couldn’t stop thinking about how it’d feel to have his skin against yours, with nothing in between. You bit his lower lip softly, and he let out a small groan, going back to kiss your jawline as both of his hands held your bare waist, firm and strong, but also gentle and sweet.
His mouth moved from your jaw to up your ear.

NCT DREAM REACTION
To you being jealous
Mark Lee
Tumblr media
The dude's oblivious to the entire thing and probably only notices because Johnny spelt it out to him or something. He thinks the girl flirting with him is just being nice, and he's just trying to return the favour until you get back from the bathroom, although he feels really awkward the whole time. When you step out of the bathroom to see this girl with clearly flirtatious body language invading your boyfriend's personal space, you initially don't think much of it because you trust Mark. Still, as you approach from across the room, which takes you a while, she's getting closer, and he's getting more uncomfortable. You can see it clear as day, so you're not upset at Mark for not pushing her away for you, but you're upset he didn't push her away for him. You approach the two and immediately take Marks hand and wrap his arm around you, kissing his cheek and asking him 'who his friend is', all whilst sending a glare in her direction. If she doesn't take the hint straight away and keeps trying to chat him up, you put out your hand for her to shake and introduce yourself as Mark's s/o, quickly excusing you two from her presence straight after. Mark can tell that you're upset on the drive home, but he doesn't know what about, so he brings it up to Johnny, who tells him the girl was flirting, and you were probably jealous. When he brings it up to you the next time you're together, he apologises for making you feel that way and reassures you that he loves you and only you. Nothing will change that. He feels terrible until you tell him you're more upset that she was invading his personal space and making him needlessly uncomfortable, then he just feels rather sheepish. You tell him how you wished he could stand up for himself, but you understand that it's just not in his nature to do something like that. After a long talk about it, you two understand each other better on the topic, and your relationship comes out of it all the stronger for it. goals
Huang Renjun
Tumblr media
Kind of insulted that you felt the need to be jealous, really. Like, don't you trust him? He'll reassure you that you're the only one he wants, but then he'll scold you for feeling like he doesn't 1000% place his entire heart in your hands. He's actually kind of mad for a while, so he just goes to his room to cool off so that he can talk to you civilly and rationally when he comes back. When he has calmed down and wants to talk, he wants to get to the route of why you felt threatened by the girl he had never met before giving him her number so that you can try and tackle those insecurities together, as a couple should. Deep psycho-analytical dive into your psyche to try and figure out the best way to reassure you and the best way to make sure this never happens again. He doesn't want your insecurities getting in the way of you two basking in your love for each other, so Renjun tries to nip any jealousy, yours or his, in the bud.
Lee Jeno
Tumblr media
Soft boy, sad boy. Why would you be jealous? Has he not shown you how much he loves you? Has he done something to make you think he'd leave you so easily? Are you looking for a way out of the relationship but want to make it seem as natural as possible rather than just breaking up with him out of the blue? ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT LEAVING HIM??? Jeno somehow gets more insecure in this situation than you do. He thinks that if you're jealous, then he clearly hasn't done his job as your boyfriend right and immediately goes into panic mode. At first, you get confused about what's got him all stressed, then you get worried in case he's remembered an anniversary or something last minute that you haven't. When you ask him what's up, he lets out this tidal wave of apologies and promises, which you barely have time to comprehend before he basically crushes you to death in a massive bear hug. When you finally get it out of him, you sit him down and explain that it has nothing to do with him and that you weren't upset at him; you were madder at the other person flirting with him right in front of you. He still tries to apologise, saying that you wouldn't have felt that way if he had made you realise how much he loved you and would never think of leaving you, but you shut him up with a kiss. You take it slowly as you explain that you never thought like that, you were more jealous that they were all cuddled up to him, even if he was pushing them away, and that you wished you had been the one hanging off his arm because you loved his cuddles so much. Needless to say, he has a pretty easy fix for that, as he scoops you up and drops you on his bed, before jumping on top of you, telling you he can fix all that.
Lee Haechan
Tumblr media
BULLIES YOU. Like, the reason you were jealous will walk away, and this guy turns to you, clinging on to his arm, and smirk. Then he'll do the tongue thing, you know when he pushes his tongue against his cheek when he's annoyed, but he's not actually annoyed this time; he's just trying to get even more of a reaction out of you. He says something about how nice the person is and says he wonders if they'd maybe want to hang out with him sometime, but you know that's a joke because he was pretty quick to shut down all advances at the time. The rest of the day is just him joking around, and if you do something that "upsets" him, like get up to go to the bathroom when you were cuddling, he just goes, 'I bet they wouldn't have left me alone like this.' But, eventually, he sees you've had enough of it and feels a little bad because he knows you were just a little insecure, and he kept bringing it up, so when you're trying to sleep that night, he'll whisper into your ear about how much he loves you, and how he hopes you know he'd never leave you for someone else like that.
Na Jaemin
Tumblr media
His baby???? Sad????? No, big no. As soon as he sees even the slightest indication that you might be feeling the tiniest little bit jealous, he is removing you two from that situation and cuddling you and telling you in a baby voice how much he loves you. He won't go so far as to insult the person, but he makes sure you know he would never choose them over you and is even insulted at the thought. If he can't get you two out of there, he will aggressively hold your hand and make it a point to show you off as his s/o to the other person, almost making them so uncomfortable that they apologise for interrupting,,,,, whatever it is he's trying to do with you. Once the necessary conversation with them is over, he whirls around to you and sorta just blocks them out, standing between you two, so they can only see you back, and you can only see him. Then he loudly declares how much he loves you and tells you all the fun COUPLE stuff he has planned for you guys to do together, and then he sort of just hugs you while trying to walk away at the same time. It's a site, alright.
Zhong Chenle
Tumblr media
LAUGHS just, the situation is absurd to him, so Chenle does what Chenle does best. He laughs because he doesn't know what else to do. The person flirting with him gets confused, as do you, so you share a look with eachother, and look back at him, and he's still laughing. It gets to the point that everyone is uncomfortable, and he manages to stop, but by then the person has decided that it's just easier if they leave instead of keep trying to persuade him into flirting back. They might try again in the future, but Chenle will see them, remember what happened, feel really awkward and head in the opposite direction. When you finally drag him away, he's constantly apologising through giggles, but you reassure him it's all fine. He still feels bad, so as an apology he buys you an apple watch your favourite snacks and gives you lots of cuddles.
Park Jisung
Tumblr media
Babie feels bad. He just loves and cherishes you so so much, he would never want you to think he was interested in someone else. He's also hella awkward, you're most likely his first relationship, and also first person in years he's really known outside of SM, so he's not really up to date on how to do ~interactions~ so he goes to Jaemin for help, and that was sort of useful in that now you've got a massive boy stuck to your side begging for forgiveness. He doesn't know what to do so he just does what his hyungs suggest. He also just does everything for you, to prove that he loves you. Sure, it was fun having him get anything you wanted for the first half of the day, but by lunchtime you felt bad, so you pulled him to cuddle on his bed and told him you forgive him, and apologised for feeling jealous, too.

💌 • 3:27pm
if it were any other occasion, you would’ve been pleasantly surprised by collegeboyfriend!renjun dropping off some snacks for you while you were working hard at the library, sometimes you’d even let him stay with you (that was, if he wasn’t busy with his art projects and assignments).
but today wasn’t ‘any other occasion’; you were working on a lengthy essay about a topic you were quite unfamiliar with, and honestly lacked interest in. it didn’t help that you had already spent some time on the paper at ungodly hours in the morning and the caffeine wasn’t enough to keep you awake.
however, you couldn’t resist the tired grin on your face as renjun shuffled into the seat next to you, quietly placing the box of sweet treats on the desk and kissing you on the cheek.
“surprise, baby! how’s your work going? here, have a drink,” he handed a water bottle to you, trying to have a small peek at your laptop.
“i guess i’ve been quite productive,” you chuckled, taking a sip of the refreshing drink, “but i-i thought you were going to that seminar, or something, on impressionist art? how come you’re here?”
it’s not like you didn’t want your boyfriend to stay with you, his mere presence cheered you up and made you feel more awake. but, you knew how easily distracted you were by him - one look at his pleading eyes and your laptop would be neglected for too long.
renjun dug into his bag, pulling out his iPad and his pencil, “it was renaissance art, actually, and it got postponed because of another workshop, i can’t remember. and i cancelled all of my plans for today so that i wouldn’t be busy.”
“aww, junnie, you didn’t have to come here though, you could’ve hung out with your friends instead of watching me try not to use the word ‘therefore’ a hundred times,” you let out a weak laugh, tapping away at your keyboard to keep from getting sidetracked.
“ahh, i don’t mind, baby, i’d rather be here cheering you on,” a sudden surge of warmth pulsed through your body as renjun scooped up one of your hands and casually brought it to his lips, “and maybe, when you’re done, we could go to that museum exhibit you were telling me about?”
he turned on his iPad, taking a second to appreciate his lockscreen (a candid shot of both of you laughing under a lamppost at night, that jaemin had taken when the two of you were far from sober), and opened up an unfinished drawing, waiting for your response, “no pressure on finishing though, sweetheart.”
your concentrated grimace and unintentional silence was enough to remind renjun that he wasn’t here to distract you, although the look of admiration plastered on his face made him appear temptingly irresistible. with one more kiss on the hand, he turned back to his drawing, inspiration flowing through his mind after a quick look at his beautiful muse.
almost a half hour had passed and your work rate was slowly declining. you had just about concluded your second point and did not have the capacity to continue researching evidence and insert citations for your next paragraphs.
the caring boy’s company didn’t cause as many diversions as you thought, but now that you had saved and closed your document and were hovering over ‘shut down’, you were ready to just collapse into his arms and leave any proof-reading and editing for another day.
after closing the lid of your laptop, you leaned your arm on the table, your head resting on your hand as you peered at renjun’s screen, which he suspiciously turned off as soon as he felt your stare on him.
“woah, huang renjun, what are you looking at that’s so mortifying that you had to close it that fast?” you questioned, a smirk forming at his burning cheeks.
your lover wordlessly revealed what he hid so quickly, looking away and rubbing his nape in shame, “i, i didn’t know how long you’d take, and i, um, i got a bit bored. but!! but, in my defence, i didn’t know you would finish up this early.”
the doodles on the screen was not the magnificent piece you were expecting. instead, you were faced with a blank pink page covered with flowers, stars, hearts, your’s and renjun’s initials - the phrase ‘give me attention 🥺’ splashed right in the middle of the page.
“aww, angel, you are the cutest, why didn’t you tell me, i would’ve taken a break or something you know,” you could feel your heart melting for the sweet boy, nuzzling into his chest to make up for the lack of attention you had given him.
renjun pecked the crown of your head, caressing your back as if he had never held you in his arms before, “y/n, darling, i didn’t wanna distract you. your focused face is just so adorable and i couldn’t stop myself once i started.”
as you pulled away from his embrace, you began to pack your stuff away, pausing to turn to your boyfriend, “you don’t have to explain yourself, you big softie. how about we just go back to my dorm and cuddle? my roommates are out today anyways.”
“as long as you promise to give me attention this time, babe,” he quipped, chuckling at his little joke and helping you get everything in your bag.
you tossed the bag strap onto your shoulder as you stood, taking renjun’s hand in yours and making your way out of the library. his palm seemed to fit perfectly into yours, as did his lips against yours. you couldn’t help but think that his existence was too good to be true.
and, that’s when it clicked in your head; that no matter what you were going through, how busy either of you were, you and renjun would always be there for each other, were meant to be there for each other, and he’d never fail to bring a long-lasting smile to your face.

— sluts deserved to be punished.
word count: 1.640k
request: Hey! Could I request angry sex with renjun? 🥺
warnings: ROUGH angry sex, unprotected sex, oral (male receiving), dom!renjun sub!reader.
a/n: i’m sorry this request took so long!! shdhsjdjdhd pls i hope it was worth the wait. i’ve got a bunch of requests to do but they’re still open!
Tumblr media
Renjun was a sweetheart, there’s no doubt about that. He was caring and kind and a great listener when it came to you. After all, you were his baby. And he took great care of you, especially in the bedroom.
But recently things had changed with you. While his gentle, soothing nature in the bedroom was amazing, you couldn’t deny that, you just couldn’t help but want......more.
And that’s how you ended up shamelessly flirting with Jaemin during a celebratory dinner of their most recent award show win, in clear view of your soon-to-be-fuming boyfriend.
You spared no gesture, no look for the poor boy who got caught between you and Renjun’s current sexual tension. From rubbing his arm when he spoke, to laughing at every other comment, it soon became clear to your boyfriend that you were being more than friendly.
”What’s got you all flirty? You’ve only had one drink,” your friend Jaemin joked with you. You simply leaned into his ear in a seducing manner and whispered your response.
“Do me a solid, and just go with it.”
And with that, Jaemin knew what was up. But not being one to disappoint his friends, he simply winked at you in agreement.
That was the tipping point where Renjun knew something was up with you. He knew you were trying to make him mad, and fuck, it was working.
Another round of drinks and a few scattered deserts later and you were soon thanking Jaemin for paying your part of the bill, sealing the deal on Renjun’s pure rage. He sat in silence almost the whole night, cheeks pink with annoyance. You simply smirked at him when you two made eye contact from opposite sides of the table.
A silent cab ride home was to follow and you began to wonder if you went too far as he marched many steps ahead of you to your apartment, thanking the gods he had agreed to spend the night prior to your shenanigans.
“Renjun, I-“ you began to speak as you stepped into your apartment, but before you could even process what you wanted to say to him, he had you pushed against the wall, and you swore you could see his eyes turn black with lust, drowning in pure anger. He kissed your lips so roughly, they would probably be swollen after just a minute.
“What the fuck was that huh?” He pulled back and grabbed your face with one hand as he spoke. “Do you think you’re fucking funny, huh? Flirting with my friends like a little...like a...slut?” He spat.
You were beyond taken aback. While yes, this is exactly what you wanted, you thought for sure by the way he was acting on the way home that he wouldn’t want it. But here you were, about to have the sex of your life.
“I just-“ You tried to speak again.
“You just what, huh? Wanted to make me mad?”
You were silent.
“Answer me!” He demanded as his hands moved to grip your hips.
“Yes! Yes,” you nodded as you answered. “I wanted to make you so mad that you’d take me home and put me in my place.”
He pulled his face back from yours just a few centimeters, a slow smirk growing on him, before a chuckle fell out.
“Well baby, if you wanted me to be rough you could’ve just asked. But now, you’re in for a night of punishment.” Renjun spoke seductively, his grip on your hips tightening. “But I bet that’s what you really wanted, huh?”
You gulped, nodding fervently.
“Alright then. Well then do me a favor, and get on your fucking knees,” he demanded, letting his grip on your hips fall as you dropped to your knees in front of him. You tried to reach for his belt, but he harshly slapped your hands away.
“I’m in full control, darling. You don’t touch what I don’t tell you to touch, do you understand?” He said, and you noticed his voice had dropped several octaves. He was in full dom-headspace now, and it was the hottest thing you’d ever fucking seen.
He slowly undid his belt and pulled his pants to his knees, teasing you despite him being the one about to receive pleasure. And once his cock sprang free, already almost fully hard, you wasted no time spitting onto your hands and gripping him at the base, using both hands to jerk him with ease.
He groaned as you soon replaced one of your hands with your mouth, the remaining hand pleasing the small amount of his cock your mouth could not reach. You proceeded to give him the sloppiest, dirtiest, hottest blowjob of his fucking life.
Spit guzzled out of your mouth like you were drowning in it, his hands deep in your hair and groans music to your ears. You bobbed your head faster and faster until he was twitching in your mouth.
“Don’t fucking stop,” he groaned. “I’m gonna cum in your mouth and you’re going to swallow all of it like a good girl, understand?”
You simply hummed around his cock and in response. When his dick twitched once more you took him as deep as you could into your mouth, before he unloaded his semen into the deepest parts of your throat. And you did as you were told, emphasizing your swallow as he made eye contact with you, signaling you to do so.
He held your face as you stood up, for just a moment showing his soft side again as he kissed you. But it was gone as soon as it came. He kicked off his pants and lifted you up, carrying you to the kitchen counter, where he set you down and immediately began lifting your shirt over your head and unclipping your bra.
You naturally tangled your hands in his hair as he unzipped your pants, but he grabbed you by your wrists and put your hands by your side.
“What did I say about touching?” He growled.
“I’m sorry-“ A slap to your now bare thigh silenced you.
“Sluts deserved to be punished, not rewarded,” he began. “You’re lucky I love this pretty pussy too much to stay out of it.”
You moaned at his words, before finally you were completely bare on the kitchen counter, and soaking wet at that. He stared at your exposed core as he stroked himself back to hardness. “But bad girls don’t get foreplay.” And with that, he entered you raw and fast, gripping your hips hard.
You immediately reached to grip his shoulders as he began to set a pace, before he once again slapped your hands away and stilled his hips.
“You just don’t know how to listen, huh?” He grabbed your face with his hand. “What am I gonna do with you?”
“Renjun, please, just fuck me.” You begged. “Fuck me like the slut I am.”
He smirked at you before continuing his thrusts. “God, you make me so weak.”
He grabbed your hips again with both hands, occasionally slapping your thigh or gripping your breast. He fucked you so, so hard you knew for sure you would be sore in the morning.
Your moans filled the room and sweat rolled down both of your foreheads. You resisted the urge to touch Renjun as he had instructed you to, but decided to test the waters as he said nothing about touching yourself.
You leaned back a bit as you slid your hand down to your clit and rubbed harshly, desperately chasing your orgasm. When Renjun saw this he almost broke, the sight of you touching yourself nearly sending him over the edge for the second time that night, but he held on. As mad as he truly was, he still wanted you to cum. That is, if you earned it.
You moaned even louder as you rubbed your clit with one hand and grabbed your own breast with the other. You could feel your orgasm building and you could tell by the knot in your stomach it was going to be intense.
“Fuck, Renjun, I’m gonna cum!” You moaned.
“Beg for it,” he demanded. “Beg to cum or I’ll stop right now.”
“Fuck! Just let me-“ You were interrupted by a harsh slap to your thigh.
“I said beg, slut!”
And you finally obliged. “Please, please, please let me cum, Renjun. Please let me cum around your cock.”
He groaned at the dirty words escaping your mouth, before he felt his own orgasm coming.
“Okay, you can cum. Cum for me,” he said as he replaced your hand on your clit with his own.
You moaned louder than ever as you finally came, gripping the edge of the counter for dear life as you came undone by Renjun’s cock.
And then he came as well, spilling inside you and halting his hips as he did so, letting his dick rest deep inside of you as he emptied the last of his cum in your pussy.
When he finally pulled out, not a word was said as he cleaned you up and you both gathered your clothes, before he finally spoke up.
“You know I’m still mad at you,” he said. You turned to him a bit surprised, thinking he was over it already. “Please, if you want me to be rough, just ask. You don’t have to flirt with my friends.”
“I’m sorry... I should have just talked to you about it. How can I make it up to you?” You hugged him, only just now being allowed to touch.
He couldn’t help but melt into your touch as he hugged you back.
“Well, I could be the little spoon for once...” he whispered, causing you to giggle.
“Deal.”
