Fav animal: Snow leopard or any type of cat.

Fav music genre: Definitely hyperhop and indie rock, lo-fi if I'm just trying to relax.

Hobbies: Drawing and digital art has gotta be number one, I also like writing and playing video games.

Fav fandoms: CoD on top, Marvel (Mostly X-men+Deadpool), Mouthwashing, TBHK, Creepypasta, JJK, etc.

Alle Hyperhop-Regler auf Anschlag: Das Debütalbum der Hamburger Künstlerin Mariybu - "SLAYBAE" - erscheint am 10. März 2023 digital und auf Vinyl über 365XX.

Mal sweet wie ein Lollipop, mal so heiß, dass akute Verbrennungsgefahr herrscht - wenn Mariybu ihre vielseitige Stimme über die verzerrten Bässe legt, bedeutet das absolutes Feuer. Das Boss Babe aus Hamburg produziert sich nicht nur komplett selbst, sie überzeugt auch mit sassy Lyrics über (queeren) Sex, Dating und den wahren Hot Girl Shit. Sexy, zuckersüß oder in absoluter Abriss-Laune - Mariybu weiß mit ihren unterschiedlichen Attitüden zu spielen und entfernt sich dabei immer mehr von klassischem Rap, mit dem sie 2020 ihren Szene-Auftakt feierte.  Zwei EPs, ein Signing bei dem All fe*male Label 365XX und etliche Auftritte später, spielt das Allroundtalent Support Shows für Acts wie Neonschwarz oder Zugezogen Maskulin, ist Teil des Female Producer Collectives und findet 2022 schließlich ihr musikalisches wie emotionales Zuhause im Hyperpop.

Nachdem ihre ersten beiden EP-Veröffentlichungen “Depression” (2020) und “BITCHTALK” (2021) sowohl szeneintern als auch in der Medienlandschaft für Begeisterung sorgten, verschlägt es die versierte MC nun in etwas andere musikalische Gefilde. Distorted 808s, poppige Melodien und gepitchte Stimmen prägen Mariybus neues Hyperpop-Soundbild - daneben bricht die Hamburger Künstlerin mit angeblichen Tabus und misogynen Kategorien, indem sie ihr Sexleben ganz genau so auslebt, wie sie will - und auch noch Hits darüber schreibt. Ob dominant oder zuckersüß, Pleasure mit dem sweeten Boy, Sex während der Periode oder queere Hölle mit den Babes: Die vielseitige Künstlerin ist auf mehreren Ebenen angekommen und das hört man. Der reale Hot Girl Shit eben!

Bisher hat Mariybu die Singles "Walkie Talkie Booty Call", "Datenight", "Was soll ich im Himmel" (feat. Skofi) und zuletzt "Ganz raus" geteilt.

This song hits too goddamn close to home.

While the genre of suburban post-modern emo-hyperhop fusion is usually deeply cringing, the layering in the mix of the two vocalists, in conjunction w the stuttering drums & easy-listening glitchhop soundscaping fucking WORK.

7/10 track, strong recommend.

I ain't listened to a whole record yet, so don't blame lil ol' me if the catalog s u c k.
