BACKGROUND

grant  and  his  twin  sister  were  born  in  london  to  a  couple  entirely  unfit  to  raise  children  .  his  mum  took  off  in  the  early  months  of  their  lives  ,  leaving  them  in  the  care  of  their  alcoholic  father  .  they  rarely  received  the  attention  they  needed  ,  and  learned  to  look  out  for  each  other  .  

their  father  grew  increasingly  worse  over  the  years  ,  eventually  turning  violent  as  the  kids  reached  their  teens  .  grant  did  all  he  could  to  ensure  he  took  the  brunt  of  it  all  and  not  his  sister  ,  often  sporting  bruises  and  cuts  that  others  assumed  were  from  fights  with  other  kids  .  he  had  a  bit  of  a  reputation  as  a  '  bad  boy  '  because  he  was  incredibly  aloof  &  ...  tbf  would  threaten  anybody  who  got  on  his  nerves  .  he  kind  of  just  went  along  with  the  rumors  .

it  was  a  few  weeks  after  the  twins  seventeenth  birthday  that  their  father  began  to  fall  ill  with  cancer  &  grant  ?  honestly  didn't  care  one  bit  .  his  father  was  as  awful  as  he'd  ever  been  right  up  until  the  day  he  died  .  

he  and  his  sister  lived  together  for  a  few  years  after  that  ,  grant  working  multiple  jobs  to  try  and  make  ends  meet  .  he  began  to  calm  down  a  lot  after  his  father's  death  ;  the  pent  up  anger  from  all  those  years  slowly  beginning  to  fade  away  due  to  his  father's  disappearance  from  their  lives  and  his  counselling  .

PERSONALITY

grant  isn't  exactly  the  easiest  guy  to  get  along  with  initially   ...  he's  very  aloof  and  sarcastic  but  ?  he's  learning  to  chill  and  lay  off  people  a  little  bit  nowadays  .  he  can  actually  be  pretty  charismatic  when  he  wants  to  be  /  when  he  wants  something  .

loves  music  a  LOT  ..  it's  helped  him  through  so  much  ;  from  blasting  his  music  to  drown  the  world  out  to  hiding  away  in  the  music  room  at  school  so  he  didn't  have  to  go  home  .  it  really  saved  his  life  .

he's  wildly  unreliable  ?  both  in  his  actions  and  his  mood  .

his  relationships  are  very  noncommittal  .  god  knows  how  he  lands  people  in  bed  with  his  attitude  but  ...  he  succeeds  .  

his  biggest  fear  in  life  is  becoming  his  dad  .  he  already  shares  a  lot  of  his  tendencies  ,  e.g.  he  drinks  /  parties  a  lot  ,  is  hot  headed  ,  etc  etc  etc  .  it  absolutely  terrifies  him  .  he  has  weekly  meetings  with  a  counsellor  (  im  assuming  they  have  one  on  board  ?  )  as  a  result  .

so mickey is v fluent in italian bc his mom speaks it around the house raised him on it as a second language and for as much as he rags on his family sometimes and in his comedy skits, he would 10/10 die for his mom and she’s v soft for him as well and lowkey her fave son fjdslkjd but don’t tell the other valeska siblings

mickey’s mom ( ever the angel that she is ) was v understanding and just let mickey work at her design studio for some modeling of her mens collection and deal with some interning responsibilities that he was chill with bc he got paid and it wasn’t all that hard ,, his dad was not as happy and just has a perpetual frown whenever he’s around mickey bc he think mickey is just slacking off since his older brother is dealing with med school just fine

he took up improv classes just bc he loved making ppl laugh and figured it would be a good way to fill up his time and started doing some stand up without telling his dad kdjfslfk so when his year was running dry he kind of just impulsively looked into horizon and sent in his resume for a comedian position

BACKGROUND.

meet my lil guitar playin long haired babe , fox !! his name is actually foxworth charles dayton, however he hopes that name dies ( he was named after his grandfather ) and will literally punch someone for calling him foxworth. so it’s just FOX.

fox grew up in england to a rich , snooty family. the daytons are highly known in england , very wealthy , and complete snobs. although he was very well off as a kid and could have pretty much anything he wanted, fox took after his grandmother and wanted to be more than just a last name.

he had an interest in music from the very beginning and through his parents humored it, they never saw their son having a musical career & were never going to approve of it.

basically a trust fund baby that never needed to work but fox always picked up little gigs here and there. he looooves his profession and wasn’t going to give it up , so he risked his parents disappointment to go after music.

he wasn’t that successful in england due to his parents interfering, so he started to look for ways to leave home.

his parents are Not happy about this and they haven’t spoken in two years but due to the influence of his brother & them wanting to make sure he’s okay , fox is Loaded so hit ur boy up for some drinks at different ports

he does sets at the show lounge as often as possible and really enjoys it.

fox was a super happy boy growing up until he started to feel held back by his family. he keeps his personal life VERY private and doesn’t really talk about who his family is or anything like that.

he doesn’t really .. have a path in life or know where he’s going after the horizon. there’s some workers who are getting older and hes thinking about just doing it until he can’t anymore because he just .... doesn’t know where his life is going

acts like he doesn’t give a shit about anything. tries to seem v Tough and hard but honestly cares so much and cares what people think about him.

you wouldn’t expect it but as soon as hes off of work and they’re at a port , he’s at the nearest bar getting lit. one of his very first experiences was in cozumel ; standing on a bar , getting free tequila shots all night. it was an Experience.

haeil’s childhood is something he doesn’t think about often. he never talks about his past with anyone, to him the only thing that matters is moving forward. 

his father had been abusive to him, his mother, and his younger sister for his entire upbringing. there never seemed like an option to change things, they just had to deal with it. 

in school and other social settings, haeil kept to himself. he had learned from his home life to keep quiet and stay out of the way.

he was fourteen when he came home to his father in another drunken rage and abusing his mother. he called the cops and she was hospitalized. she died from her injuries a week later. 

his dad was sent to jail and he and his sister were sent to foster care. then they were split up. the family who adopted him only wanted one child so he had to leave her behind. 

he was sixteen when he developed a drinking habit. he’d spend his nights in parking lots, drinking cheap liquor out of brown paper bags. 

his habits got worse as the people he hung out with got shadier. he would experiment with drugs and developed a heroin addiction. 

he was kicked out by eighteen. by chance, his sister found him while he was aimlessly wandering the streets. once she saw the state he was in she was furious. 

she helped him sober up. it took a few years for it to happen, but he’s 5 years sober. he doesn’t drink or smoke or anything.

he needed something new to occupy himself and found that in playing cards. poker specifically. since he lived in las vegas, there were casinos everywhere. 

he gained a reputation around the casino. as he improved at poker he improved at cheating too. eventually someone caught on. 

that was all it took. after all the money he’d made from cheating, he knew he had to leave and lay low for awhile. this is why he hopped on the cruise. 

he works as a staff member in the casino on the cruise. since he knows all about cheating, he’s great at catching when someone does. 

it’s hard to say what his next fix will be, but he should think of something fast. nothing good ever happens when he gets bored.

so lincoln is an only child between his two parents isobella and monica but he was a sperm donor baby of which isobella was who gave birth to lincoln .. at the time bc it was the 1990′s .. his mom’s were together but not Officially Together in terms of the law but they were together for a long while

isobella was a high end art dealer who had a studio in london and made serious $$ from selling these fancy schmancy paintings ,, she was v big into the dutch golden age but she sold a lot of post-modern art meanwhile monica was a bioengineering professor over at the imperial college london

things were swell and lovely up until linc was around 4 years old or so .. his mom’s loved him v much and he had his nanny samantha that raised him mostly when his parents were busy , but he often saw monica more than isobella and it was a lot of built up agitation between his moms that built up before it bubbled over the top

his mom isobella was super big into party and w her art friends and money , she often held parties at their flat and was more into recreational drugs and alcohol than she should’ve been with a lil son .. and monica was v wary of this and the two of them often clashed in terms of how to raise linc

his mom’s split up when he was four and isobella kicked monica out which made linc ))): and from then he mainly saw his nanny samantha and saw isobella whenever she would come home at night for a half hour before she tucked him into bed and her friends would come over

it was a tough time bc isobella was uHhh petty and didn’t let monica see linc much other than every other weekend and the law couldn’t do much bc isobella was the biological parent and technically they weren’t ever married so monica couldn’t do much

but fast forward his childhood which was kinda lonely and samantha raised him more than his mom did .. linc was easy going and enjoyed learning and was never a v fussy type of person

he definitely was shaped in the lax environment of his home w isobella and for sure when he was in his teens he went behind his mom’s back to spend time w monica bc he missed her and knew isobella was being annoying and petty

bc he remembers the arguments between his mom’s .. he’s not v big into like .. disputes and is a calm dude who goes w the flow and doesn’t ever yell or raise his voice bc he sees no point to it and it just gets ppl more angry

meet AMARA PANYOPAS ! her family is from thailand but they moved to la before she was born so she was born & raised in la

her family had been back & forth between korea, thailand, and the states

her moms a professional singer pretty well known in korea & and her dad’s a producer well known in the states

mara was pretty much destined for some type of greatness but she didn’t really feel like it 

she’s got an older brother who’s an actor and he loves the fame, but from when she was little she didn’t want to sing or act, she just wanted to dance !!!

ANYWAY !!! she grew up dancing and despite her dad wanting her to pick a different career, she had an aunt that made a perfect Dance Mom and she was trained for dance

although her aunts visions for her were super different from her own so they worked together to create a new image

i dont really know how to properly flesh out this part but i feel like she started to get p big in choreographing and started a youtube that blew up pretty quickly

she holds classes where she teaches choreographed routines, choreographs as well as dances in music videos, and occasionally will back up dance for live shows

she definitely 100% has her aunts dedication and her parents fame to thank but its fine

generally a bit spoiled but shes 100% aware of it

at some point, she got tired of the ordinary and decided to join the horizon, taking her best friend & constant dancing partner with her and shes been loving and and its been especially amazing for her youtube channel

stevie was born as the result of a last ditch effort to save an already failing marriage between clara rousseau and louis moreau and u know … spoiler alert it didn’t work bc it only took louis six months following stevie’s birth that he dipped with only a half assed note as an apology and left clara with stevie and their older three year old daughter 

though stevie doesn’t remember her father at all , she knows he Ain’t Shit from what she’s been told by her mother even though it’s v clear that her mother still is very much in love w her father despite all the shit he pulled and the turbulent relationship that they had

but a silver lining to it all was stevie’s mom took her newfound single-hood and decided to get back into teaching which was smth she put on hold when she married louis and then eventually stevie and her sister came along so she got a bit of cabin fever from being in the house so often while louis was out managing a popular restaurant ig

while stevie does kinda wish she could’ve spent more time w her mom , it meant that she had a certain level of freedom to do as she pleased when she was growing up when her mom got hired as a history and archaeology professor over at sorbonne université .. so stevie explored the depths of paris when she was able to escape her suburb of sceaux with her older sis

so bc of that she’s a bit of a free spirit and letting herself be led by whatever she’s feeling in the moment , but that’s doesn’t mean she easily bounces between whatever manages to pique her interest , she’s a tad of a polymath in liking to dabble in each thing and dedicates a lot of her time to fully understanding and being good at smth before she feels like she’s knowledgable before moving on

bc i’m Garbage for maeve in sex education , a lot of stevie’s vibes are her’s with her newly dyed blonde hair w pink towards the end and nose ring .. naturally a brunette but when stevie decided to dip out of france and to horizon she thought it was time for a New Look ., she def has that parisian flair to her sense of fashion with cute lil neck scarves but also the maeve look of doc martins w ripped stockings and denim skirts

despite her easy going n seemingly carefree personality , stevie is actually v intelligent and her lips know how to drip honey when they want ,, she graduated v high up in her class and went on to study fashion design and technology at ifa paris where she got her bachelor’s degree

she learned a lot there and definitely solidified stevie wanting to start up her own self ran boutique so that’s been her dream for a while now .. but she got tired of paris and decided to dip and she found herself as a bartender on horizon at club h2o bc she figured she could finagle tips out of drunk ppl dnalkd

tbh stevie jumps from hookup to hookup w/o ever really desiring a relationship bc her mother hasn’t been w anyone since stevie’s father so she doesn’t see herself as needing a significant other to help ground her or fill some hole bc she’s happy with her life and where she is ?? maybe one day she’ll change her mind but she’s also a but ehh bc her father dipped so there’s a small part of her that thinks everyone eventually ends up leaving so there’s not much of a point
