Possession, PSAs, and his Shades

We’ve gone over a lot already, but man. I just keep on looking at everything happening and thinking about it nonstop. There’s so much to talk about where Fresh is involved and while analyzing the character directly in the context of underverse is absolutely still on the table, I can think of more things to talk about.

So I’m going to do that! This post’ll be about a bit more of a variety of things, especially in regards to stuff I personally enjoyed massively. Let’s go!!

The Possession

This part may be a bit scrambled and I apologize in advance, and I also warn that trying to find information on THIS in particular is fairly difficult. There are some things that are a fact, for sure;

Fresh is the parasite who’s possessing the body (that purple thing up there? That’s Fresh), and consumes the Host’s SOUL while in their body for sustenance. The Host does not have control while being possessed.

…And that is all the facts I’m 100% sure on. The rest? From what I could find briefly searching the records I know of, much harder to confirm. For Underverse, it’s safe to assume “The Host is Conscious while possessed” is true, given Ink responds to Fresh’s PSA after being freed from his control, and it’s been heavily implied that being possessed hurts a LOT given, yknow, having your soul slowly eaten away by a parasite cannot possibly be pleasant.

I will note that it probably hurt less for Ink because Ink doesn’t have a soul. BUT WAIT, if Fresh needs a soul to possess someone, and Ink doesn’t have one, how does the possession work?? I’m glad but also surprised you asked because Fresh explains it himself to Ink!

Fresh may not need the vials himself, but Ink absolutely runs off them. At the very least Ink’s emotions run off them, and for most other monsters having a SOUL is connected to having emotions (or at least, NOT having a soul is explicitly connected to NOT having emotions). That makes the vials a suitable substitute for the magic Fresh needs to consume from a host to live, at least for Underverse!

This would also explain why Fresh’ possession lasted no longer than a few minutes before running out completely- the material in those vials does NOT last long, not even for Ink! Ink has to refill them and drink them regularly, and Ink’s body is probably better at processing them. Fresh, meanwhile, is insatiable, constantly drawing on the magic for his own survival without regard to the host’s well being, and that would drain the effects of the vials even FASTER than their already short time frame.

I also want to talk about physically how Fresh possessed Ink. Nothing weird, but details about the battle that absolutely delight me.

Magically we know at this point Fresh had to trick Ink into drinking the vials so the possession would function. But PHYSICALLY, Fresh ALSO needed to get Ink into a position where he would be susceptible to possession!

A LOT of legwork was done for him beforehand. Error had done some damage to Ink already, wearing him down magically and physically for a bit before being interrupted, and that’s not even looking at the fact that Ink was already a bit roughed up before Error got to him.

Fresh forced Ink to drink the Unlimited Vial as well, which while he didn’t know it would do this, helped to wear Ink down further. Forcing Ink to feel something overwhelmingly oppressive that Ink could only think to describe as “Pain” in the moment. This may not have physically negatively affected Ink, but it did have a mental effect, and that matters just as much in this case.

Then, before Ink had any time to really recover, Fresh forced him to chase him- something that pushed Ink to start using magic and of course having to physically follow after Fresh. And this chase is FAST, based on how much the wind is whipping at their clothes in the animation, Fresh is making Ink WORK for those vials.

Ink is physically exhausted, as emotionally exhausted as he’s capable of being, and mentally exhausted as well (potentially also why he’s so quick to make foolish predictable decisions around FRESH, someone he’s obviously familiar with to SOME degree). After everything he’s been put through he’s tired, and in perfect condition for Fresh.

Physically, Fresh gets VERY close to Ink, very quickly. He’s in front of Ink before Ink’s realized what’s happening, and he only gets closer as the scene progresses. The view from Ink’s perspective is wonderful, Fresh absolutely looming over him (and the camera) with how much taller he is and how close he’s standing. Fresh also reaches out to Ink himself, nearly close enough to touch Ink.

Obviously, the physical process is Poof’d out in the animation, which I’m not surprised by at all because as has been stated by CQ and others, “It’s pretty gross,” and also probably pretty difficult to animate. We don’t need to see that, we understand what’s going on here and we have a battle flow to keep up because Error is there pretty immediately after. I ADORE how menacing it was the entire time leading up though, THAT is delicious.

And then we get to the actual being possessed part!

In my various analysis posts, I haven’t talked about Fresh!Ink as a separate, 3rd character of some kind whatsoever, and that is VERY intentional. Fresh!Ink is not a character of its own, it’s a state of being, specifically Ink’s status as Actively Possessed. This isn’t a fusion situation where both of their mindsets and thoughts are contributing to their actions, this is exclusively Fresh.

This is something ESSENTIAL to keep in mind. Ink is nothing more than a body in the Fresh!Ink dynamic, Fresh is as in control here as he is in his own typical hosts. Trying to imply that Fresh!Ink is a separate character from Fresh somehow is completely misunderstanding how Fresh!Ink even functions on a baseline level- it’s largely an aesthetic change that, in this case, was only important because Ink needed to be unrecognizable for a while.

PSAs

Fresh loves addressing us directly. It’s a sure-fire way to ensure he’s the center of attention to what REALLY matters, the audience, even if it means being ignored in universe or confusing to other characters.

Nothing exemplifies this better than when he gets into a PSA (short for Public Service Announcement), a part of his 90s facade where characters would stop and address the audience in order to teach a lesson of some kind. Said character often being portrayed as cool and competent, or at least knowledgeable about the topic at hand, and using the situation around them to deliver some kind of moral message with the other characters.

This is good context to have on who Fresh’s dialogue is for and why in the world he would say everything he does. I mentioned this before, but it bears repeating that Fresh is a character that is not only 100% aware of the fourth wall, but is known for interacting with it himself to some degree. Fresh is meant to be funny, so this awareness is played as a joke in most cases, but you better believe there is some intense existential dread deeply baked into his character as a result.

Anyways! Let’s look at the dialogue during the fight and really pull apart what it means.

Fresh: Dude, dese days have been kinda on the wacko side for everyone, huh? I smell unrad vibes just all over da dang place.

Error: You're dead, Ink!!

Fresh: I think ya talkin' to da wrong broski. Our glitchy pal needs a chill pill. Let's learn how ta handle dis here situation. Sometimes when people get angry all dey get is a well-deserved time out. So- tell ya rainbow buddy- whats makin' ya so unhappy?

Error: Quit playing games, you fu[nking mu]stard!!

Fresh: Unrad, Bro! Nobody like it when ya rude! As ya can see, hostility can be challengin' at times. It's a sign dat they're all up in their head, fightin' a much harder battle dan da external. And most people aren't aware of it. Find out what it is dats tormentin' dem. And use dat weakness against dem ta destroy their life. let dem know dat nobody messes with you. ...And dat mah friendos, is how ya come ta realize dat you must care about yaself first and above anyone else!

Error: You're [Fun]king crazy!!! I'm wasting my time with freaks like you! Once I'm done with Ink, you're next, whoever you are!!!

This is the full exchange Fresh has with Error, and what Error and Ink witnessed on their end- with a reminder that Fresh was very rarely actually talking to Error, often facing away from Error while speaking in the battle. It’s also worth noting that in the episode itself, all of this text is in uppercase, I made the decision to put it in lowercase here for the sake of legibility- but it being in uppercase IS important, they’re both being loud here.

This is a message from Fresh about how to handle someone actively attacking you, based on context. He’s sharing what to do in a battle to get out on the other side of it alright, based on what he knows and thinks of course. His delivery here is patronizing and weird, but there IS real substance to this.

His first piece of advice is to force the opponent into “time out,” which he demonstrates is getting the opponent into a state of being less able to attack, via slapping Error out of the air and to the ground. The flow of Error’s attacks are interrupted now that he’s been disrupted like that, and Fresh moves onto the next step!

The time out is, apparently, intended as a way to get them to stop fighting and start talking, as Fresh immediately asks Error directly a question, something he would only need to do to get Error’s side during this little informational encounter. As has been said, he doesn’t care about actually talking to Error here, he’d just keep talking to us at home if he didn’t think it was fitting for his message to chat with Error.

Obviously Error is just furious more than anything, immediately retaliating against Fresh. This is fine, though- Fresh IS trying to give advice on what to do in a battle, and sometimes talking to someone doesn’t work! So of course, you need to be able to keep calm, and follow the next steps of success.

It starts off as a very typical “thinking of the other person” friendliness type thing, noting that someone who’s engaging in a fight with you has something going on in their head making them think choosing that violence is a good or worthwhile idea. That they’re fighting an internal battle that most people wouldn’t even know about.

And hey! Internal battle in your head that no one knows about… just like the internal struggle of his hosts against him, that no one else ever thinks about, right guys? Making a little ominous tangent is something he does for us at home, because he knows there are a lot of people that enjoy that about him- and that it makes him interesting, having things about him that aren’t what you expect and make you want to look closer at him.

And he continues with that darker tone, because his answer to continued conflict is to fight back; specifically, to fight back smarter, not harder than your enemy. Find out what’s wrong with your opponent, what will hurt them the worst possible, what their weakness is- and utterly destroy them with it. End it in one decisive hit, striking at the weakest part of your enemy as hard as possible.

And of course, he demonstrates doing this! Lovely Error is someone he knows pretty well, well enough to exploit Error’s fears in this fight. When Fresh counter-attacks, Error actually runs entirely from that attack. If you watch carefully, you can see error make a portal out of the doodlesphere as the hands reach toward him, and back away into it to avoid being hit.

Which, guess what? Means that Fresh wins! Obviously, if your opponent flees from a battle, you can consider that a win, because they are now no longer fighting you- the goal of all this advice!

His final moral message to the viewers is his own personal standpoint, that you have to care about yourself more than you care about anyone else! Don’t pity the enemy or try to offer kindness when they’re fighting you, tear them apart and show them it was a mistake to try and trap you in a battle. NO one messes with you, or else.

And then the possession is over! With Ink telling Fresh that what he said didn’t make any sense at all, which is probably due to a mix of Fresh’s speech patterns, Fresh’s intended audience being us, and also Ink not having a lot of time to process and consider what Fresh is talking about (unlike us who can spend days looking at the same 5 minutes of animation and tearing it apart piece by piece).

Fresh doesn’t push it, likely because it IS a pretty significant insight into his thought process (not to mention the fact the message wasn’t mainly for Ink anyways). Instead he starts deflecting by pointing out that eating paint doesn’t make any sense either, but Ink still does that, putting Ink in a kind of “gotchya” position where he’d have to explain eating paint before Fresh explains his little message there- which Fresh knows Ink isn’t going to do, at minimum because Core is here and Ink’s only just noticed.

I did word my thoughts as “the message wasn’t mainly for Ink” intentionally though. Fresh had spent the lead up to the fight berating Ink on his thoughtlessness, and on his dramatic lack of planning ahead when faced with a situation in the moment (By comparison to Fresh, at least. I do think Ink is capable of planning ahead to SOME degree given his actions over the course of Underverse absolutely being planned in their own right, but Fresh is berating him for not planning ahead ENOUGH, hence the current state of everything right now and also his dramatic victory.)

I think to Fresh, Ink could also benefit from this message on how to stop having ridiculous fights (with error especially) that waste time and don’t end with a clear enough winner to make the opposing party back off. Ink wastes a TON of resources and gets into a lot of risky situations that could be avoided if he fought more heartlessly AND efficiently, so this advice could help if Ink ever plans to start ignoring his feelings again.

Right now, of course, the advice hardly applies at all. Obviously, Ink is presently emotional, especially after the battle and drinking all the vials (more or less). And, Ink potentially can’t succeed in this situation following Fresh’s advice, it may be more worthwhile to use some level of sympathy and kindness to dissolve the situation, something Ink specifically is in the perfect position to do as a friend of X Gaster.

That’s the delicious crux of this situation though, isn’t it?

Ink is in a very, very unique position as someone who knows a lot about X Gaster. A LOT about X Gaster, more than essentially anyone else in the multiverse that isn’t from XTale directly. There are a few routes Ink can go down in now, helping the “good side” to combat him. As an old friend, he could try to appeal emotionally, trying to work with XGaster for a different resolution to everything having seen that it’s gone too far.

Or… maybe everything Fresh said here just doesn’t make sense YET. Fresh’s message to us and to Ink could be foreshadowing for the future- that the battle is going to be ended because Ink, or someone else extremely close to XGaster, is going to reveal XGaster’s weakness. That with that weakness, they’re not just going to fight XGaster, they’re going to utterly destroy XGaster, so that there is no question whatsoever who won.

That’s just speculation of course… Can’t say for sure if it was foreshadowing when we can’t look to the future yet and see it play out. Cool as heck if it is foreshadowing though, could you imagine. I’d go crazy, again, and probably write like three more posts about how Fresh is a genius and the true hero of underverse and other equally ridiculous claims.

His Shades

The last thing I want to talk about here is short and it’s about Fresh’s shades. This is mostly me just wanting to talk about them because I love them and the attention to detail in these animations is absolutely incredible and worth discussing. BUT HEY I bet people would like to hear about how they work and what they mean for Fresh and yada yada ok cool let’s jump in.

SO Fresh is known for his awesome “YOLO” shades, of course, but they can change to display other text!! This is a cool fact that I’ve never seen so beautifully executed, but has always been enjoyed on my end- but the way Fresh’s shades work is a bit hard to pin down!

I think, to some degree, it’s safe to say Fresh has control over what his shades say. I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s in perfect control over what they say, though, moreso that they respond to him directly. I say this because of how they shift when he’s attacked by Error- during some of the impact frames they change to say “oof!” and react in perfect time with him expressing worry or concern over situations.

It is possible he controls them entirely and is just that good at it, but it’s up for debate, and either way he’s still using his shades to convey his intentions as much as any other form of body language.

You may have noticed that sometimes, however, his Shades don’t show ANY text. Specifically, three or four times that are notable (There are others but they’re during moments when Fresh is very VERY distant or when he’s in heavy motions, where it’s more likely his shades just aren’t big enough to have fit any kinds of letters on for the sake of animating, and I don’t think those count for here).

First, when he’s forcing Ink to drink the vial. Second, when he tells Ink that the both of them are very different and he’s smarter (they stay off until Fresh has possessed ink), Third for a moment before jumping up to hit Error that may just be another case of “animating the words here wasn’t worth it” but that I have trouble believing given other instances there’re words, and then after Error has them pinned to the ground tied up in strings for more or less the rest of the fight.

All of these moments are unique in that they also coincide with moments where Fresh is being MOST genuinely himself, and not lying nearly as much as every other time. Showcasing his lack of any feelings at forcing Ink to drink the unlimited vial, devoid of anything but cold curiosity. Tipping his hand in preparation for possessing Ink, blankly stating that he and Ink are very very different, and that relating them too much to each other is a dangerous mistake to make.

Again, with jumping up to meet Error in the air, it could be a moment of “animation dropping the text,” but to humor if it isn’t, Fresh is ACTIVELY accepting combat in that moment. The break in text is the break in his facade and active focus on us at home, he has to take a moment to actually engage in this battle- but it’s entirely unnecessary to display any text about it in that moment. He’s deciding his next move, calculating and waiting for the perfect time to jump.

It’s easy to assume the fourth instance where he’s tied up, the letters are gone because the visor is visibly broken. That could make sense, perhaps- but soon after it’s shown that no, the visor still absolutely works, and could be displaying a visual.

Not displaying any text here has just as much reason as not displaying any text any other time, and in this case is used for two reasons. It’s used for this moment of being very ominous, for one, giving us this excellent shot intended to be pretty frightening juxtaposed against Fresh’s usual behavior and atmosphere. But yet again it’s also a tell for when Fresh is being “most genuine” in his exchanges!

At this point is where he’s talking about how to defeat someone who won’t stop fighting, by taking advantage of any weakness they show and destroying them completely as a consequence for it. That’s very genuinely something Fresh would and probably did do to people, and he doesn’t need to sugar coat it with fun visuals and lies. After all, we know what he’s like, that he doesn’t care and that at his most truthful, there is nothing he is feeling to convey. He’s empty… Just like his shades are, showing nothing to us because there’s nothing to see.

Instances when his shades do have text still do bleed into his reactions, like I mentioned, and show his current state of being to some degree. Displaying “HAHA” at multiple times within the battle as he’s enjoying himself, showing to say “OK UH” when he’s looking at Ink’s vials to decide which to toss at him, and a ton of other fun little moments! It’s a delight to watch and fills me with joy every time I look at it, absolutely wonderful.

That’s all for this post though! I covered a lot of ground here and said a lot, but that’s kind of why I wanted to talk about this at all! I had a lot of thoughts that could do with being shared, and I hope you all enjoy this one as much as the others!

Jakei & Nyx’s Emergency Commissions

Hello everyone! This is not exactly a good reason to re-open commissions, but I’m doing this to help my husband, NyxTheShield. Here’s some context: Yesterday (September 25th), Nyx’s network (Routenote), demonetized his entire Youtube Channel without further explanation. Even if you can see some ads in his music videos, he’s not getting any type of revenue, because there’s a problem with his channel configuration that he cannot revert manually. We immediately contacted Youtube and Routenote via Twitter to get an answer. This morning Youtube sent him an e-mail confirming this is an issue with Routenote, but they haven’t reached out to Nyx yet. We don't know how long we have to wait until every single video can be monetized again. With each passing day, his income decreases, so recovering those losses could take a long time. Even if we count with my savings, it is not possible for me to use them all since I haven’t finished my visa procedures in Chile, therefore, I cannot open a bank account to pay bills in this country at the moment. (Nyx’s paycheck is also way bigger than mine ;w;)

This is why I have decided to put Underverse 0.5 animation on hold to open unlimited emergency commissions and cover Nyx’s daily income until Routenote decides to reply. All the money earned from the commissions will go directly to Nyx’s Paypal, so I’m just here as an alternative to help him out. the special project

“Cross! We’re almost closing!” dream got closer to the actor that was sitting behind the scenes, a smile plastered on his face. He was holding his phone, and didn’t even look up to meet dream’s eyes-

“Hey- are you even listening!” dream pouted, and only then did cross’s eyelights met dream’s “Don’t worry. We can stay here a little longer- it’s not like the director likes to leave early!” his smile got a bit wider, but dream sat next to him, and looked over his shoulder- “…what are you looking at then?” dream wasn’t able to leave, not without cross at least, and he was getting curious; what could make cross ignore him so blatantly? Even memes weren’t so effective-

Cross suddenly nuzzled dream’s cheek, which made his face turn yellow as the other showed him his phone- the both sat in a more comfortable position, when dream finally read what was shown to him-

“It’s the reviews of the series! People are asking questions to both of us, and are speculating on the upcoming chapters- plus, they are even giving us compliments!” cross’s grin got wider-

Cross was pretty shy in person, so he tried his best to overcome that by acting, and meeting new people. though he was always so insecure about his acting skills, it didn’t stop him from entering both the underverse show and the dark cream studio- sure, it was a bit tiring, but he’s always enjoyed the times spent there, especially with dream, his best friend- though he considered him as more than that, he didn’t know how to ask him out, but the scenarios in the series was making things easier, considering they were both a couple in it-

Dream smiled- he was also happy to work with cross, and wanted to get a bit closer to him each day, though his brother was a pain very often- he swore to him one day that he’d snap next time he tried to get into a conversation between him and cross, not mentioning killer- though killer was the absolute opposite- cross and killer had been friends for as long as he remembered, and no matter how he denied everything, he was trying to hook them both together-

Even after dream’s protests, he was glad killer was trying to help, because he sure needed to-

“aww- how sweet of them! Wait- can I see some questions?” dream hummed, and cross huffed- “I dunno- they’re just some stuff about whether you like acting or not- the usual-“ he was obviously lying, so dream hopped on his phone as the other yelped in surprise- “h-hey! Give it back!” he jumped on dream, but the other laughed out loud- “oh come on! It can’t be this bad-“

He looked at the phone, but the questions and asks were all- about him? Dream blushed a bit, but cross snatched away his phone and huffed- “you’d get embarrassed anyway!”

Dream paused, what should he do to convince him? Well, teasing cross was always so fun, so he hummed- “okay- but how long will it take you to get off me-“ cross suddenly realized he’d been sitting on the poor dream all this time, so his face got lit up with a purple hue when he finally got up- “s-sorry about that-“ he scratched the back of his skull, totally ashamed, but dream took the opportunity to mutter- “well- maybe now we can read the questions together- How about that?” he smiled, a tint of yellow on his cheeks- cross paused a second, then sighed- “we’re in for a ride-“

They sat next to each other, trying to put the phone in the middle so it can be seen by them both. Dream felt his cheeks getting quite heated up- they weren’t usually this close to each other. on another note, if nightmare saw them like that, he’d do everything in his power to split them apart-

“Okay, first question: dream is this hot bastard on set, but how is he in real life?”

“pff- what is even this question?” cross snickered, dream only huffed- “well, how do you find me in real life then?” dream crossed his arms, but cross gave him a lazy grin and just answered- “well, I don’t think it really changes in person-“ “CROSS-“ dream pouted, and cross laughed out, but dream still continued reading-

“okay then- …oh- dream looks so good with heels, but does he like wearing them?” cross paused, awaiting his answer, when the other looked at him dead in the eyes and said- “anything to be taller than this bastard-“ cross busted out laughing, and dream continued- “shut up you dummy- here is a question for you! Umm- are you scared of cows in real life-“ dream tried so hard not to laugh, but cross shivered- “people cannot understand how scary these creatures are- it’s nOT FUNNY to be almost eaten by a cow!” dream couldn’t take it, so he cried out- “ohaHA- I’ve already told you- c-cows are herbivorous- they eat grass and such- n-not skeletons!” dream felt bad to tease cross about something he’s afraid of, but cows cannot eat monsters, and that was a fact.

“ugh-“ cross pouted, then looked away. Dream paused, he wanted to say something, but just looked back at the other’s phone, and said- “…okay- here is a question for us both now- do you guys-“ dream couldn’t finish his sentence when he lost his eyelights- cross looked at him, wondering what was wrong about the question- “uhhh… okay, let me rephrase that! Mmm- s-so you guys are together in dark cream, but what is your relationship in real life-“

dream blushed, but tried to hide it- cross paused, then muttered- “well-“ if killer or epic could hear their conversation, they’d be cheering for him to finally ask him out- and if nightmare could hear them, he’d be running in too late, because cross inhaled silently and tried to let out “well, I would like to ask you out for this afternoon-“ cross’s face was getting very purple, but it was no match to dream’s- dream lost his eyelights again, and his mouth was half open. He dropped the other’s phone, and the other was lucky it landed on a carpet-

“u-umm- dream?” cross cursed himself- why did he just bring this up now! But dream whispered- “…okay- I’d love- I- I mean- we can go out together as soon as we finish some asks-“dream was so close to scream in happiness- he asked HIM OUUT! Cross chuckled nervously, but he took his phone from the floor, then continued-

“how is nightmare in real life-“ cross paused, then muttered- “I’m sorry dream, but I don’t know how you couldn’t notice how each time I previously tried to confess, he’d try to split us up” cross sighed, but dream laughed, almost maniacally- “ahaha- do you think I didn’t?!” cross turned around- “wait, you knew I liked you???” he was a bit surprised, but dream suddenly let out- “what- n-no- not really- I wasn’t really sure- but that idiot didn’t let me get closer to you!”

dream crossed his arms, but cross laughed out- “oh my- ahaha-“ they both chuckled for a little more, then cross tried to find another interesting ask when one caught his attention, though he didn’t voice it out- (what if cross tried to propose to dream on set? there is no way it’s not a good idea, maybe he can convince the director!) cross smiled, it was a good idea- but he wasn’t sure if dream was going to agree to it-

Dream yawned, it was getting quite late- “well- if you want to take me out somewhere, it’s time.” Dream stretched, and cross couldn’t help but think of how different he had become-

This place contains very interesting individuals whose presence contribute in the fun and enjoyment of the visitors and the creator himself. After being there for a while, you might notice why these people are quite special considering the relaxing atmosphere of this place;

the positivity was so strong that it shattered a galaxy and went to another universe searching for a worthy opponent- love senders and daily positive anons are very frequent here, and as their name might show you, they are responsible of giving enough motivation and positivity for the creators, and the destruction of most doors, windows, walls, universes, and being obviously chased by negative and suspicious people trying to prevent them from giving the creators positivity.

some anons are still wondering why they are simping for characters while others already gave a very specific reason “LEEEGS-“ some are also wondering how did the creator made them so hot- only a superior brain can do so mind you- just kidding- everyone can do it if they give him good heels;

Please take this as a very brief explanation- some of these subjects can last a day- or two or even a week if it is a generator of ideas, no matter how cursed, sweet or angsty they are.

Creators are very common in this place, they can be artists, or writers, though there might be more talented people, but they might had never talked about it- they might be musicians, composers, singers, and so much more, but who am I to say? Maybe there is one who’s reading this that can draw, or write, do both, or so much more- I just am saying that this place is filled with amazing people!

There are some people who considered that S!D and cross needed kids, which is funny because, there are now a lot of ship children laying in their arms- they can be twin babies, independent teenagers, cute cinnamon rolls, or a result of neglect or a curse- and those different types of children make a very good source of inspiration, and provide ideas for both artist and writers;

The creators deserves support- and people do help their work to be shared, and considering some had made commissions available, there was and will be more support for them, and that’s why I wanted to add those who had bought some hot koffees. I am very glad that the creators are receiving support, because it makes them happy and motivated, and that’s honestly what all of them deserve; support.

Finally- this place has the healthiest and pleasing aura I’ve ever felt- and has very unique characters that are daily sending questions, or ideas, or creations, and listing everything would take a lot of time, but every single one of them is as unique as the other, so fear not if I haven’t included more- because there is too much-

And thank you for reading this little writing- I didn’t think you’d actually read such a thing ,but to be honest, I actually never thought you’d ever read any of the writings I’ve made- I’ve never thought this will be the first thing I will be associated with, writing. Because I only write when I have art block, or when I have a very good idea, or if it’s something I don’t want to draw now and need to remember to draw in the future, but it seriously made me so happy when people actually enjoyed something I’ve made, and I want the creators that I most enjoy and so much others to feel the same thing- the happiness that someone thinks you’re good at something, that’s why it is the most silliest and the most interesting gift I can ever write to thank you zu, and everyone who supports her, and the creators I’ve seen there! underverse forgotten worlds Chapter 1: Incomplete worlds

* The seven souls universe (Created by me) *

a long time ago the real scientist WD Gaster, from the 6 souls that he had tried to create a seventh artificial soul, the intention was to get the monsters out faster, 3 years ago the last child fell silent and Gaster had very little hope of another human will reach the sub floor.

So I create a machine capable of extracting some determination from each soul, a little from each would be able to artificially create a seventh soul

then gaster thought that if he could not artificially create a soul with good traits, he would create one with negative traits, this would be the counterpart of the 6 souls and since there are 7, they would be in perfect balance and would have the power to leave.

So he used his own hatred that he had towards humanity in order to fill the soul with pure monster hatred

4 hours concentrating his hatred and using his magic to get to fill that blank soul

and finally after so much effort, I achieve it ...

A black soul with red edges, Gaster had created an artificial soul, but when he tried to contain it in a container to take it to Asgore, it began to act violently moving around and hitting Gaster

Gaster very defensively realized that that soul did not have hatred towards humanity, if it had all kinds of hatred for anything living

I physically cannot imagine a sanses only party to be fun.

Classic sans would be sleeping, mabye fell, nightmare and swap could be playing uno?

Ink and error sans could be in the kitchen, play fighting.

Horrortale sans is there too, making some "hot dogs." I guess swapfell sans would be watching horrified but fascinated.

Fellswap probs would be doing somthing fancy?

We got flowerfell sans in the back, chilling.

Epictale sans is in the bedroom, filling the place with infinite rubber chickens.

We got outertale sans eating ice cubes and cross/underverse sans over there dining on some fine choclate.

We have some converstation here and there, most of the sanses are okay....

And nightmare starts making this big ass grin-

Dream obviously knows whats up, and accidentally faceplams his uno cards into his face.

Swap sans asks why he keeps smiling like that and nightmare tells him to go to the other room.

Now you see.. The other room is a bunch of papyruses.

Dream explains that him and nightmare could feel some "strange vibes" coming from that place and swap shouldn't go. And nightmare was having a kick out of how much negative energy is surrounding the place.

Swap sans goes anyways, beacuse uno is fucking BORING!!

He opens the door and he sees his brother, swap papyrus is ABSOLUETLY booking it as fell paps chases him from behind with A FUCKING CHAIR-

Another UT poem! I wrote this one a while ago. It’s about everyone’s favourite ‘antagonist’ (from a certain point of view), XGaster from XTale and Underverse (Both made by the amazing and talented @jakei95, check her stuff out!)

Both of the stories I mentioned above are absolutely incredible, and really got me into the Undertale AU fandom. Now I can’t escape it! So thanks! XGaster in particular is one of my favourite characters, for reasons that would be better explained in a full-on essay. In short, his perspective is very fascinating.

Power Suppression

Summary: Error and Nightmare wake up in cells facing one another, in an AU that neither of them recognize.

Nightmare knew as soon as he opened his eyes that something was terribly wrong. For one thing, he could see clearly out of both of his eye lights, the second… He felt lighter than he had in a very long time. The third thing was that it was very dark wherever the hell he was currently. The last thing that he remembered was fighting Dream and Cross - the two of them escaping to places unknown as he and Killer just barely failed to go through the portal after them. Once he got his hands on Cross, that miserable fucking traitor was going to regret ever betraying him - then again, he’d been fucked around with by that Gaster of his timeline, so his decisions might not have entirely been his own.

He stood up, moving towards the pale source of light, stumbling a little and hissing as he realized that the source of the light was a magical force field that when touched - forced him back a couple of inches and stung.

In the pale white, flickering light, Nightmare glanced down at his hands, realizing that he was no longer covered in the tarry substance of the corruption that the negative apples had. His bones were white and he was… He was wearing his original outfit. Including - as he felt the top of his head - the golden circlet with the crescent shaped cut in the middle of it. Panic filled him as he tried to summon his tendrils, feeling something shift just outside of his full perception and agony shock through him, originating from his neck, wrists and ankles, driving the lord of darkness to his knees. He choked back the shriek of agony - not wanting to give his captors the satisfaction of hearing him react in pain.

Once the pain faded from his body and Nightmare could move - the fallen guardian of Negativity sat up, scowling as he tried to figure out just where he was. From what he could see of the hallway outside of his cell, all he could see was a white hallway in black trim. The color of the force field was strange - as in every AU he’d visited that had such magical tech, they were either light blue if they were a tale or a swap based AU, or red if he was in a fell or swapfell based AU. Occasionally it would be a light shade of violet in swap fells, but that was unusual. But never this over-bright white color.

Nightmare studied the magical shackles on his wrists, using the light to get a better look at them - noting the intricate carving of the runes that kept his powers suppressed and locked away. At least it meant that they hadn’t somehow taken the powers of the many apples he’d consumed from him. He had his power, though it was out of reach. He sat down and looked at the shackles on his ankles, finding much the same. Both sets of restraints were completely smooth - there wasn’t a groove or keyhole revealing a weakness that he might be able to exploit in trying to get them off. Not that there was much in the cell he’d been locked into - just a small cot fused to the floor, the material dark in color - and when Nightmare dragged the mattress he’d been laying on, it revealed to be the same flat black color as was on the trim on the walls outside.

Nightmare could very dimly sense someone close by. Having literally nothing else to do - and deciding that he was going to see if there was someone in the cell facing his - he called out (hating how light and soft his voice sounded in this weak form) “Hello? Is there anyone else down here?” Perhaps he could play the innocent, confused victim and con his captors into letting him go. Then he would make them suffer for daring do this to him. He knew for a fact that Dream hadn’t done this to him - for one thing, the other would never think to suppress his powers - and the second is that the other would be hovering at his side, waiting for the very moment that he woke up in order to try to talk.

He heard an agonized groan from the cell opposite of his, and the familiar figure of one glitchy outcode came into view. “WhErE tHE fUCk Am I? WhO aRE yOu?”

“I have no idea where we are - as for who I am… I’d rather not get into that right now.” Nightmare responded, not wanting to reveal who he was to Error just yet. “What’s important is - can you access your powers? I have some sort of… Restrictors on me that keep me from trying to teleport out of here - and there’s nothing in here that I can use to try to get out of them, either.” He’s never seen such an achromatic place like this before. Is… Was he dragged to an AU he’s never known before? By who, and for what purpose? Nightmare hated the lack of control, but was doing his best to suppress his emotional reactions. He won’t give them the satisfaction. “I have just a little bit of my passive abilities, but nothing more, as far as I can tell.”

“Of coUrSe I-” Error started, voice rough and staticky with irritation, before pausing for a moment. Less then a second later, the other let out a glitched yell of pain, and Nightmare noted that the other had fallen over backwards, completely stiff his arms and legs stiff and straight.

The lord of negativity waited patiently for the other to wake up, tapping one of his bare feet against the cool tile, keeping a regular beat inside his mind, finding that it took the other at least ten minutes to start to react again, groaning and shuddering on the floor, and another five to struggle up into a sitting position “I am sorry - I had just been about to warn you not to try to use your powers too much - the cuffs that they put on both of us caused me pain when I tried to use them.” He wasn’t really sorry - but pretending otherwise would hopefully encourage a sense of camaraderie between the both of them - so that if the other managed to escape his cell, it was less likely that Error would leave him to rot.

“HoW cOmE I didn’t h-hear yoU scReAmIng eArLIer?” Error demanded, squinting at him through the force fields “yOu LoOk LiKe A sWaP iN stRAnGe cLOtheS? WhAt Au ArE yOU fRoM?”

“You wouldn’t have heard of it, even if I told you. None of the outcodes have ever visited my AU… Not that there’s much left of it. It was destroyed long ago.” Nightmare responded factually. He sincerely doubted that Dream would have ever brought Ink to the shattered remains of their timeline - and while he did use it as his main base, he didn’t trust any of the outcodes enough to even think about taking them there. “I… I didn’t scream when the pain hit me. I-I didn’t want to give them the satisfaction of hearing me in pain.”

“fAIr eNOUgh. HoW dO yOU knOW whO I aM iF nO oNe HaS bEEn tO yoUR tIMELinE?” Error pressed, continuing to squint at Nightmare, arms crossed over his chest as he glared at him suspiciously. “I wILl fINd A wAY oUT anD tHEn I wIlL mUrdEr thE wOrtHLEss gLIitcHEs WhO cAUghT mE.”

Nightmare was about to give a version of the truth - something about Dream having visited his timeline on his own before - when both of them heard the sound of a door opening, and two sets of footsteps.

“And I am telling you, with Overwrite and your knowledge of their powers, neither one of them has had the ability to escape, my dear friend.” A smooth, low voice that neither of the two caged and currently powerless beings recognized reassured. “Their code is unusual - it will take me time to reprogram them into more useful tools. If you would allow me to look at the negative one’s other half, I am sure that I would be able to reshape both of them. I am unsure if I can fix… Nightmare? I believe that’s what you called him? Without Dream being present as well. They are bound together in a way that I have never seen anywhere in the multiverse before.”

“And I told you, XGaster, he’s in the omega timeline, and having both of them in the same timeline will cause issues that you cannot handle easily. Dream is by far the weaker of the two of them, but his positive aura will win over your people to his side. It’s part of how his powers work - and Nightmare will be far more stubborn if we have Dream here. And Dream won’t trust me if I bring him here.” Ink responded, shaking his head a little.

Error screamed at Ink “YOU SON OF A BITCH LE-LE-LET ME OUT OF HE-HERE RIGHT NOW! G-GET THESE F-FUCKING CUFFS OFF OF ME, AND YOUR D-DE-DEATH WILL BE FAST YOU MIS-MISERABLE SQUID! I WILL TEAR APART YOUR FA-FA-FAVORITE AUS LI-LINE BY LI-LINE!” He threw himself repeatedly at the force field of the cage, as if hoping to bash through it by sheer force of will, hissing in pain with every strike.

“I had given you a chance to join our game, Error. You refused to play.” Ink responded, his eye lights, flat white circles as he stared down at the other, as the glitch trembled and thrashed on the floor. He glanced over at Nightmare, a small twitch of his lips upwards, as if feeling a pale shade of amusement. Not that the other was actually feeling anything. “You really do look a lot like Dream. You’re almost… Sweet in this form, Nightmare.” The guardian of creativity walked over, staring at him.

“Why is Dream’s trust something that you are after, friend? I can give you what it is you truly want and desire. His aura is only effective when you are in his presence, and the light emotions make you weak.” The Gaster pointed out, resting a hand lightly on one of Ink’s shoulders.

“Dream’s presence helps to bolster my positive popularity, which allows me greater access to the AUs that we visit. He is also the best healer I have encountered in the entire multiverse and his gentle nature makes him an excellent companion.” Ink answered. “Why he seems to think that Nightmare can be redeemed, I do not know. But his hope to find a cure for whatever happened to him - as well as his belief that Nightmare can be redeemed is what keeps him going. You take either of those things away from him and Dream will shatter.”

“Oh, please do elaborate on that.” XGaster responded with a small smirk playing on his face as the two of them started to walk.

Nightmare growled, his eye lights flashing in anger as he stepped closer to the bars of the cell he’d been forced into “If you dare touch Dream, I will rip you apart. You can only hold me here for so long. Dream may trust you for now, but I know him better than you ever will, you arrogant, soulless bastard. If he ever hears so much of a hint of what you’ve done in this world, he won’t ever trust you again… And Cross is with him in a place where you can’t directly approach the both of them to keep Cross silent.” Despite his irritation, the fallen guardian was smirking a little. The truth would will out sooner or later - and there was no way that Ink would be able to keep Dream out of this AU - and the other would be drawn to his presence. He just needed to be patient.

Error started to thrash against the force field again, screaming obscenities until he suddenly went down hard, his eye sockets covered in errors - his whole body glitching out wildly. A loading bar popped up over the other’s prone body, ever so slowly inching towards full.

Gaster and Ink left the both of them, unconcerned. “With his magic suppressed, I suspect he’ll be rebooting for hours. Just after a reboot is when he’s most malleable.” Ink supplied, staring at the prone form of his long-time enemy.

XGaster nodded “Very well, let us continue speaking, while I show you what I have added since the last time this world was RESET.” The pair of them were silent until after they vanished out of Nightmare’s sight and hearing range.
