I know, promo week for @royaibigbang 2024 is almost over and here I am with an actual promo post. Surprise! If her heart rate accelerated, it was just the surprise. It wasn’t the fact that her fingers slid through the hair on the nape of his neck for a moment before she quickly moved them down to his collar. It wasn’t the fact that the press of his body against hers felt too intimate, and too familiar. 

She was grateful for the fact that there was no time to linger on the sensations. Soon, Mustang was taking his first step, and Riza had to grip tighter to his hand and shoulder as she moved with him. She felt off-balance, pressed against him. Instead of supporting most of her own weight, she was now dependent on Mustang’s steps to be firm and guide her body along with his; it was a strange sensation for her. It was like clinging to the edge of a cliff face, trusting it not to drop her flat on her back.

Mustang, to his credit, stepped confidently, without wobbling. The added weight to his balance didn’t seem to throw him off at all, and she soon relaxed slightly against him and focused on keeping up with the music. If she concentrated hard enough, she could almost forget who the cliff face she was clinging to for dear life was.

“I told you I would keep your feet,” he said, quietly. 

The words made her look up at him automatically and — 

His face was far too close. Too close and too soft, with that small smile and that sparkle in his eye, with the hair starting to fall across his forehead. 

This look and the feel of him, strong against her wherever they touched, was continuing to make everything hopelessly confusing. She had clearly misinterpreted his actions the other night, but she still couldn’t seem to shake her own reactions to him, which was just embarrassing. She was thirty years old, not a hormone-ridden teenager, for Father’s sake.

She realized suddenly that she was just staring into Mustang’s eyes without speaking and felt her cheeks heat with mortification.

“Yes, well, the night is young,” she said, trying to sound normal and unsure whether or not she achieved it.

“I’ll convince you to trust me yet,” Mustang said, holding her gaze.

Finally.

Finally some piece and quiet away from the shared apartment you live in with the three younger boys.

Perhaps living with your younger brother and his university friends wasn’t the best idea, especially when you had a ten page journalism report due by three pm the next day.

That’s why you find yourself here on a hot summers day sitting in your favorite cafe, it’s not busy on Fridays and is hidden enough so the boys won’t find you for a while, but they will come looking eventually.

The bell of the cafes door rings to signify it being opened but this report is due tomorrow and you can’t stop to look up, but maybe you should have. Maybe you should have because now as you watch the hot brown liquid seep into your laptops keyboard you become painfully aware of the boy in front of you who’d walked in early wearing the most guilt ridden expression. His words muffled as you watch your screen go black.

“Oh fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I’m so sorry. Wait here let me get something to clean this up.” He’s fumbling with the other drinks in his hand as he tries to reach for napkins to clean the spill he’s made.

Where else would you go really? Right now you’re just waiting for the ground to swallow you whole. Had the program even saved the other three pages you’d written? Was your hard work gone just like that? Would your professor even believe you if you told him what happened? Even if it sounded straight out of a movie?

“Just leave it, I’ll clean it myself. Please leave.”

He stills at your words, no malice or emotions within them just exhaustion. The tone of your voice makes his heart ache, and he swears to himself that he’s going to make up for this for the rest of his life.

“I’m sorry for this really, I need to leave because I have a schedule to get to but I promise I’ll make this up to you. Can I have your number?”

Your stare makes him feel small, then he realizes how his question sounds after a minute passes between you two.

“Wait I didn’t mean it like that. I’m not asking you out. Not saying I wouldn’t ask you out but I’m not doing that right now! I just need it so I can text you to pay you back, or I can pay to get your laptop fixed. I’ll send you the money or even if you want buy you a new one.”

Jay can’t tell what you’re thinking but somehow he’s walking out of the cafe with your phone number and an assortment of drinks for his members. Dreading having to explain to them just what happened in the cafe.

uh hey this is jay, I’m the one who dropped my coffee on your laptop, really sorry about that by the way!! um i want to give you these so I can say sorry again in person because my mom always said to apologize face to face or you don’t mean it and also that way we can figure out the laptop money thing together.

“I cannot believe some random dude gave you tickets to see downfall, like this show has been sold out for months and I mean months, talking eight months and he just gave up four tickets to see them? He must be loaded! Tell him you want a new computer and game console, I want the newest version.”

Jungwon’s excited rambles bring a smile to your face, sure just yesterday you’d cried almost all the water out your body until Jungwon had called your professor and explained in detail (along with sticking the phone in your room so he could hear your cries) the situation, but he’d also somehow gotten you an extension on your paper for the next week. He seriously deserved the random concert tickets the stranger, Jay, had sent you.

Receiving them was odd but he’d convinced you with the promise of fixing your laptop and that’s honestly all that mattered, so if you had to sit through a three hour long show next to some stranger who spilled coffee on your laptop then so be it because you’d be getting it fixed no matter what.

Except instead of said random stranger sitting next to you, an actual random stranger stood beside you excitedly yapping with her friends and the random stranger you had expected was perched on stage with a guitar in hand, microphone stationed in front of him like it belonged to him, and soon enough you’d realize from the crowds hollers that it did belong to him.

“ARE YOU READY FOR TONIGHT?” He’s met with screams all around the arena.

“That’s what I like to hear, alright let’s go.”

The shock of who Jay was really didn’t cease even after the show had ended and the four of you began to walk out the packed venue, it doesn’t really go away until a large man comes to escort you backstage.

“Hey buddy I think you have the wrong people, we’re just here still because my sisters waiting for someone.” Jungwon’s voice breaks you out of your shock and the man nods as if he knew what he was going to say.

“Yeah he’s backstage, just follow me.”

Jay fidgets with the bag he has in his hands, earlier he’d dragged the boys along with him to pick you out a new laptop and even threw in a new case and holder for it. He really wanted to get the image of your exhausted eyes out of his mind, he wanted to see you happy and healthy.

“Y/N you didn’t tell us the guy who spilled coffee on you was one of the members of downfall,” the voice he hears is failing to whisper as you get closer.

“Are we about to meet one of the members? What if it’s just like a staff or something like why would an actual member be getting their coffee and oh my god that’s the lead singer Jay.”

He laughs shyly at the boy who’s mouth is now wide open pointing excitedly at him, but he quickly shuts up as he spots you. You look so pretty, completely different from when he’d last saw you drenched in coffee and exhaustion all over your face. Right now you looked content and really really pretty.

“Hey Y/N, I know I said I’d give you the money to fix your laptop but I thought you should just have a completely brand new one, I’m really sorry for spilling my coffee on yours, I’m sure you were busy and needed it, I hope you can use this new one well,” his breath hitches as he holds out the bag to you and your fingers touch briefly, “and I hope you liked the show, I see your friends did.” He sends a wave their way and laughs when they all excitedly wave back.

A smile begins to develop on your cheeks and his heart races. This is exactly how he’d like to see you, happy and smiling.

Later that night as you pull out the new laptop determined to finish your nearly complete paper, a small card flutters out with it that reads —

“I wrote this to say not only sorry again, but to also ask if you’d like to go out with me sometime? and I mean it this time, as in I am actually asking you out unlike last time when I, you know accidentally asked you out unintentionally, this time I promise it’s intentional. Please let me make up the god awful first meeting we had, I promise it’ll be worthwhile. You have my number so if you want to then just shoot me a text but if not then that’s fine with me too! – Jay”

A smile forms on your face as you set down the card and get to working on your essay, the answer to Jay’s proposition already clear in your mind. Yes.

I want to say I have just finished chapter 2 and haven't started 3 yet so if this answered later then please ignore this, but how would Willow react to their sibling coming out? Oooh great question!! This is the sort of thing that overall I leave up to headcanon, for the most part. I wouldn't want to write exactly how that scene would go, especially because it might depend a little bit on Willow and the MC's relationship.

That being said, they would always be super cool about it. Especially (ofc) nonbinary!Willow--if their older sibling was trans or nonbinary, I think their big sibling coming out would be something that would have inspired Willow to really start looking at their own gender.

But yeah, Willow is queer as hell and adores their big sibling. They'd be very accepting. If they had a bad relationship it would be more like 'what should i call u. other than asshole', but mostly that would be goading (affectionate).

Also Willow would go up to bat for MC like you wouldn't believe. Their greatest defender <3

I've just read Precious Rules and I loved it! I love the way you weaved speculation with canon wrt Raglan Marius. I'm always chewing on how the Justin Marius reveal would be like cinematographically speaking (I mean, if the theory turns out to be true by divine intervention lol.)

Marius' introduction in TVL is just too iconic and it deserves to be translated to the screen but we would also need and introduction in the present time as you wrote in your fic. I think the best solution would be a doble simultaneous reveal. With a good cut and edition it could be just as compelling and exciting as it is in the book.

I'm thinking a parallel editing style with Lestat POV narrating TVL flashback and Louis' POV in the present who is on his way to meet Raglan-Marius.

Then, both present Louis and past Lestat can ask "Marius?" They can have Lestat ask it with Louis' voice so that the two scenes and timelines would be interwined "audio-visually" .

Then, it first cuts to flashback Marius saying "Yes" as he pulls Lestat out of the earth and finally cuts to present day Justin Marius, who just makes this face a la Orson Welles' in The Third Man

I can perfectly see it. Though I am not sure if the show will juxtapose it with Marius revealing himself to Louis in the present, but that is a matter of how it will be shaped in the upcoming seasons, more than anything else.

Referencing "The Third Man" here once more would indeed be a great homage, and given they already chose to reference it... yes, I can definitely see it.

Marius has been hinted at so heavily already - his actual reveal HAS to come with the necessary impact, and a certain... IDK, foreboding quality? Does that make sense? He is after all the keeper, and depending on when (in the present time) we hear from him THAT is something I could see it juxtaposed to btw, Lestat's narration and... the camera panning back, to show us Marius tending to Akasha and Enkil, maybe, playing Lestat's videos on a laptop. Or something like that. And Akasha then opening her eyes, maybe, depending on how they want to spin the season 3 cliffhanger.

Cursed Au By: @winterpower98: This Au consumed my life and continues to do so. The drama, the redemption, the growing bond between Wukong Macaque and MK?? I love it alll~ The whole universal set up of this growing Au is so full and wonderful.

Literally, ANY AU that is made by @journey-to-the-au ! This artist just- STEALS all of my attention. They got a lot of different Au's, and so many amazing ideas. There is action and romance and betrayal and platonic love that is so wholesome and sweet and AHHHHH. Taking a long tour through their entire tumblr page is 100% WORTH IT

Very similarly, anything by @rebeltigera! They also have so many different au's that are all AMAZING. Something about their style also- ahhhhh <3 It's so good. I definitely suggest taking a dive into their tumblr too. Their Macaque is honestly probably my favorite version of Macaque!

Forged Faith by @swagginmun Gosh the anxiety but also the pure adoration I have for this particular Au?? Definitely follows a more canon storyline but has one HECK OF A TWIST. The expressions that are done are amazing and I really really can't wait for this one to continue as its current chapter just ended on something INTENSE.

Eclipsed Apprentice by @journeytomonkiekid : I've been following this one for a while. I LOVE IT. There are so many talented people in the LMK community and this comic takes an interesting turn to the canon of LMK. Has some great Oc's and the storyline has me hooked! Lots of drama, and redemption, and so far the character growth is *Chef kiss*

Even Rainfall Has Shadows By @linklefr : Another fancomic that takes it's own path and turn from the LMK canon. Oc's are so cute and I just wanna squeeze them! It's really growing to be its own thing! It's got a lot of talk about self-worth and toxic habits and overall overcoming those that the characters need to grow from, and I can't wait to see where it goes!

There May be no such thing as eternity: Possed Wukong- I cannot explain how much possessed Wukong still reaching out to the Macaque and the gang just makes my brain flip~

A Garden Across Our Collar Bone: THIS. Ahhhh- Just bury me with this fanfic in my hand. MK X Red Son and ahhh- Also, ANYTHING this author (PittiedPeaches) writes is GOLD.

Of Blood and Bones: A big inspiration to me and their story is SO GOOD. The angst but also fluff that is slipped in? It's an amazingly sad but wonderful read. And I really love the world-building

Peach Blossoms: I'm a sucker for any Hanahaki disease kind of story and this is everything I wanted and more. This was soooo good and it flowed really well.

Love Team: Ooooh boy this story took me on a roller coaster ride. MY GOSH I never knew what to expect and it always had me on the edge of my seat~

Is this A Monkey-Thing or Dad-Thing?: Any Dad wukong focused fic will just catch my feet and trip me into the pit of the story. Every time. This one is so cute~

Kiss Your Knuckles: This oneshot is soo sooo good! And also horribly tragic. Gosh it just destroyed me! I definitely suggest it!

My Favorite Layover Song is

Before we get to my fav, let's take a quick stroll. By the way, don't peek!

First, let's talk about that Love Me Again MV and song itself, I was close to being transported to another world. It was a vocal and visual masterpiece. I mean, it could not be more perfect. Next was Rainy Days MV and song, I LOVED IT and it then became my fav of the two. Finally, the entire album dropped a month later and we got songs and MVs shortly thereafter. Slow Dancing, the queen and title song with that amazing flute solo (and a piano version), then Blue, which made me feel like I was in a smoky blues club, and For Us he got me with the oooooo's, like come on Kim Taehyung what were you trying to do to us!!

So, I'm sure by now you're like KimmyTaeTae will you just tell us your favorite Layover song!

Ok, so here it is, mmmmmm, wait maybe a visual clue? I mean all you need to do is look at my profile pics. Ahhhh, it's now dawning on you that my #1 is Blue. I cannot explain the feeling when hearing Blue and it is like hearing it for the first time, each time.

I’ve been rereading it again and I just wanted to say that I ADORE your campervan series. like genuinely I think it is both one of the best modern aus AND fics out there like the way you get the characters while blending in the show is just INCREDIBLE. obviously take care of yourself first, but I cannot WAIT for part seven and the rest of the series. like I think it’s one of the only fics where I’ve actively tried to figure the mystery out - you’ve had me googling what crimes a 15 year old can get charged 23 years for SKSKSK

Ahhhh oh my days hi!! Ahhhh this is so so lovely, thank you SO much 😭💕You are so kind augh - like the fact that you've not only read it once but multiple times is absolutely astounding to me, wow! Like - it's not a short series, by any stretch. So, just wow!! That's absolutely amazing!! I'm so glad that you've enjoyed the story so much so far. My favourite thing about writing it is making sure I'm getting the characters to ring true in a completely new context, whilst also holding a mirror up to series 12 itself and trying to examine it more deeply - and, honestly, I've discovered connections and threads along the way that have surprised me as much as anyone else haha

Part 7 was kicking me up the butt BUT I have started getting the ball rolling with it again. We're almost at 70k now - I was hoping that it would be around 85k in the end but, if I'm completely honest, I'll be lucky if it's less than 100k haha. But I have 3-4 chapters left to write, once I've finished off Chapter 7, the number being uncertain simply because I've got a plan for three chapters but knowing me it'll spill out into an extra chapter. We'll see how it goes! But for now, I'm just very glad that I did my research about the length of prison sentences for young offenders - so, just know that the number is actually accurate for the UK criminal system lol. What crimes lands a 15yo with a 23 year sentence? Uh. Not many!

My MCM Comic Con Experience

Oh y'all, i have been wanting to talk about this to anyone who will listen haha Sorry this post is a bit late but it's been busy at work since i got home.

Where do i even begin? I met Liam! Still seems surreal even though i have photo evidence haha Let's just start with meeting him!

First up on the Saturday morning was meeting up with the amazing @formulares - who is amazinnnng btwwwww! had so much fun! 10/10 would recommend being friends with him lmao

Next it was time to get in and get in line for the Liam autograph! CR had their own section for autos which was great because the queues were SO LONG. Luckily, we were like 5th in line! When they all came out, the whole room erupted and the cast looked utterly amazed and completely taken a back with the turnout. Here starts the whole Liam experience haha I made Ares go first because i just couldn't and to watch is conversation with Liam was special. Liam is a special guy, i'll say that.

When i got to him, i was so nervous and he just made me feel like we were old friends. I gave him some letters i had to give and then the dice i'd brought him and he was so happy and rolled them! got a Nat 1 on his first roll but rerolled because halfling luck hehe and got a much better number! i then was able to tell him how much his characters and he have helped me through a lot in recent years and he was so grateful and wrote a lovely message on my print i was getting signed (which i'm not going to share yet as i will most likely be getting it as a tattoo) and then that was the end of the auto portion! when i went in for my photo with him, he remembered me! ahhhh and then we had the cutest picture and he gave me a bug cuddle as i was leaving. Liam is an amazing human, so kind, sweet and humble. I'm hoping i get to meet him again in the near future because truly, one of the best moments i've ever had.

Then i had photos with Travis (who was making sure to ask everyone their names and shake their hand before the photo) and was thanking everyone as well once they were done. it was so sweet!

I did have a Sam photo op but because i was anxious about not making it to my Taliesin one (sam's was the same time as Travis), i gave my photo ticket to Ares who had a great picture with Sam (who is really tall!). Next it was time to have my photo with Taliesin who is just a super sweet man and was wonderful! i love my photo with Taliesin so much! he was so excited to meet everyone!

Now, onto meeting Matt! Bear in mind i queued for three and a half hours to meet him. One thing i will say is MCM need to work on their queuing system because the line for matt was 4 people wide and just didn't seem to go down! By the time i got to the front i was emotional and overwhelmed and i think Matt could see that right off the bat. He shook my hand and asked my name and then we jumped into what was a very amazing and sweet conversation, where when i started to get emotional, Matt took hold of my hands (he's an utter sweetheart) and when i told him how much this show, this world had changed my life, he was just so receptive and so humble about it all and just amazing. Then he got up to give me a hug and it was so sweet of him - that man just adores every single person/fan. He spent time talking to every single person and stayed late to make sure everyone got to meet him.

i cannot begin to put into words how amazing they all were. From seeing Travis, Laura, Ashley, Marisha, Sam and Tal interact with everyone when standing in line, to how they were in photo ops - this cast are genuine and amazing. I count myself lucky to have been able to see them in person and cannot wait until i'm able to again in the future. I just adore them and it's an experience i will never, ever forget.

Smol Snippet for Chapter 93

Author's Note: OK I am nowhere near done but here are some smol snippets of scenes I'm working on for the next chapter :) things are subject to change but just to hold ya. Again sorry for taking so long! I have a few more events to go to that I'm excited about and going back to work soon since my vacation is almost done! So continue to bear with me as I continue to plan for the outings and work on the chapter.

The start of the silly airport outfits

"I cannot believe this…" Jennie grumbled with her arms crossed as she sat in the van with the members, on their way to the airport.

She had her fair share of goofy moments but this right here was currently number one. The boys were struggling not to laugh as they snuck glances at her wearing a large Pikachu Onesie. The reason? Losing a bet with Jungkook on who could beat who in Smash Bros, last night. She tried her hardest but he prevailed in a best out of 5.

"You look adorable," Jungkook giggled.

"Be quiet," she snapped at him in a playful tone, earning another giggle from him. "I can't believe I have to walk out in public with this on. Why? You know Dispatch is going to be there taking photos."

"You did bring it on yourself. You should have beat him in the game," Yoongi chuckled.

"Wow." she shook her head. "I am loving the support, right now,"

Bangtan had some fan events in Japan just before their 3rd Muster in Seoul and were headed to the airport to get on their flight. Once they arrived at the airport, fans and reporters were already there to take videos and photos. Jennie watched as the members and staff made their way out of the vehicle as she tried to mentally prepare herself to be seen with the onesie.

About to get out of the car, Jin turned back to Jennie and chuckled. "Are you coming?"

Seated next to him by the window, she groaned. "Yes…"

With a smile, Jin helped her out of the car and surprised sounds from the crowd were heard when they saw her in the onesie, along with giggling and various comments on how cute she looked. Being a good sport, Jennie grinned and waved at the camera, walking inside the airport with everyone else.

She laughed, forgetting about the embarrassment, and began to pose, with the members. Miss Bangtan even started playing the part of Pikachu, while reporters ate it up. After photos, the group started going to the destination of where their flight was as the large group of fans and reporters followed them.

"Jennie-ah, why are you wearing a Pikachu onesie?" she heard a fan ask who was recording her with their phone.

"I lost a video game bet," she grinned sheepishly, earning giggles in response.

You took the test!?

For this, I decided to go by RM's fan sign answer about which house the BTS members would be in! :)

As they walked further into the park at Universal Japan, Jennie began to hear the Harry Potter theme song, taking her by surprise.

"Wait a damn minute…are we-are we going to Harry Potter World!?" she exclaimed. Once she turned to Jungkook and saw him grinning, she jumped and squealed excitedly. "What!? Oh my gosh! Wait, you took the test!?"

"I did. I'm a Ravenclaw,"

"Ahhhh! Oh my gosh! It suits you! So much to do! Okay! We gotta get wands! We gotta do the whole thing. We gotta go on the rides, we gotta get butterbeer, get the outfits, everything! You ready?" she giggled excitedly as he smiled, thinking it was the cutest thing.

"Lead the way,"

"That's the spirit!" she grabbed his hand as they wandered around.

Jungkook continued to film her while she looked around the area in awe, happily watching her geek out.

"Ah~! It's just like the movies! I feel like I'm actually in the movies!" she beamed.

When he bakes for you on your birthday

"I made something for you," Jungkook said as they sat on the couch of her hotel suite.

"Oh? What is it?" Jennie looked on in anticipation.

"Close your eyes, first,"

"Okay," she closed her eyes with a smile, awaiting the surprise.

Getting up from the couch, Jungkook made his way to the fridge to grab the mini red velvet cake that he had made for her earlier today. Despite the constant teasing from Jimin and Taehyung on whether he knew what he was doing, the cake turned out quite well. Jungkook wanted to make her birthday as special as it could be and he always wanted to bake for her just like she did for him and the rest of the members. After grabbing a few paper plates, plastic forks, and a plastic knife, Jungkook set everything down on the table in front of the couch as Jennie continued to wait patiently.

After placing a 1 candle and a 9 candle on the cutely decorated cake he presented it to her with a smile.

"Open," he softly said.

Opening her eyes, she looked at the cake in awe, covering her mouth. She glanced up at him, back at the cake, and then back at him, uncovering her mouth to reveal a smile.

"What? You baked for me?" she let out a giggle.

"You bake for everyone. I wanted this birthday to be special so I decided to try to make you something,"

"Jungkook, today has been way more than special. This is so sweet, thank you. It smells good. And it looks good."

Being secure in our feelings

"Ah, I'm so spoiled. Today has been magical! Like, look at this! I don't even know where to start for the gifts," Jennie said, looking at all the gifts scattered around from friends and family.

"Do you want to open your gifts now or see your last gift of the evening?" Jungkook asked.

"Last gift?" she looked at him curiously.

He smiled softly and nodded.

The curiosity took over her. "Show me the last gift,"

"Follow me," he grabbed her hand and led her to the bedroom door.

Once he opened it, they walked in and saw that the room was decorated romantically. Cute electric candles lit up the room along with rose petals scattered around the floor and bed.

She gasped lightly as her heart fluttered. "Jungkook…"

After closing the door, he gazed her at while she stood in front of him, looking around in awe. Slowly walking over to her from behind, he watched as she turned around and they both smiled at each other. No words needed to be said. They both knew they wanted this and felt secure in their feelings.
