theres probably a lot of ways to go about it. but personally i do it by drawing a bunch of shorter lines with quick strokes (like multiple attempts at the same line) then i go back in and erase

when ive rendered things and im working with only one layer it also helps me to think of it the same way as i would painting on a canvas irl. like u have to manually build up layers/colors. or doing blocks of color then going back and drawing lines over them

at least for me theres a certain amount of wobbly lines and wonkiness inherent to drawing like this so i dont worry abt my lines being extremely clean. anyway!

this is my oc mian ehmm and ive coloured this with black and white but i can do it in colour w u?

i can start w colours from a ref. i usually use a darker saturated colour around natural shadows at the get go

then i block in colours for the main

i cover the use of colourize on csp here and here and rendering! in this case it didnt add a whole lot to work w

most shadows r cool so this is the way i work. so a range between the current colour (mians actual sknitone) and the black dot (darker end of the shade spectrum for them

im so lazy! and you can still be convincing if ur lazy. if u have good lines, good colours, ur shadows can be lazy. so most of what i draw are just naturally occuring bc of the planes of the face. think about not only the shadow cast, but what its cast ON. like under the nose, our upper lip kind of curves up, meaning the shadow does too. cupids bow etc. other parts that are important, temple, eye socket.

different ocs have different shaped features. some ocs, i shade a little under their cheekbones, or dimples. some i do a lot more on the bridge of their nose . mian has dimples, deepset mouth corners and under eye bags, and remembering those makes them into mian.

kinda going off of memory here. SO. aitsf. its a murder mystery game. You play as special agent Kaname Date. He works for ABIS. He's a Psyncer there, which means that using the Psync Machine, he can go into peoples dreams (somniums) for investigations and stuff. He also has Aiba! Shes an AI whos meant to help him with investigations and also be a companion/friend? She's also his left eyeball

So anyways, you start off the game at an abandoned park and also the murder scene of a woman named Shoko Nadami. Shes on one of the carousel horses and her left eye appears to be missing.

After doing some investigating and talking with Boss and the investigator Date uses Aiba's x-ray vision and discovers someone hiding in the middle column of the carousel. He forces open the door and finds Mizuki Okiura. Shes the daughter of Shoko and her ex husband Renju, and shes also the girl you have been taking care of the last 4 years. When you find her, shes holding a bloody icepick in her hands.

Cut to a few hours later and Mizuki has been brought to the hospital, and Date stays with her there. He falls asleep and you have your first tutorial somnium with Aiba. you dont learn too much yet, but at the end of the somnium you get to see 2 mysterious people. neat <3

After that the game starts up at your Boss's office and you chat about the murder + just some backstory info (mainly learning more about how Date got Aiba and how he's lost all his memories prior to 6 years ago.). Aiba then tells you that shes found out who called the police about Shoko's body, Ota Matsushita. and you decide to go find him to ask some questions

You go to his home/the diner and talk to his mom, Mayumi Matsushita, for a bit and you learn that he's a fan of an idol named A-set, and that he's likely at the company where she works, Lemniscate (which is also owned by Renju, Mizuki's dad.).

You go there and talk with him, finding out some info like how he discovered the body with Mizuki and ran off. He also talks a bit about A-set before she actually comes in. She seems very interested in learning about the murder and manages to uh,, convince,, Date to bring her with him to the crime scene.

On the way there she ends up getting Date to tell her some info about ABIS. At the crime scene itself, nothing much happens. But at the end she collapses for a moment and Date ends up taking her home. You meet her mother, Hitomi. and have a nice chat with her for a bit before driving back to Boss's office.

She has taken Mizuki out of the hospital, shes currently unable to speak due to what she's witnessed and Boss tells you to psync with her to get more info.

I wont go over what happens in the somnium, spoilers! but. this is where you get your first 'path' to choose from. There are several routes in this game to do, which after doing all of them lets you get the "true" ending of the game. You have the left routes (red route, yellow route, and green route). and the right routes (purple route and pink route.) Mizuki's somnium determines if youre going to be doing one of the left routes or the right routes. If that makes sense.

Personally, I LOVE this game. i think its very interesting and i had a lot of fun playing it. but yeah i dont think its for everyone.. it has. A LOT of gore and pretty graphic deaths. and the sense of humor the game has definitely isnt for everyone either asjdfdklsgerw

hi! idk if you've already answered smth like this, but would you ever make a gif-making tutorial? i dont know where to start with gif-making >< but if not, it's totally cool! would you happen to know where i can learn how to make gifs like you? thank you!

sure! i absolutely would!! i’ll just do it under this ask haha 

so for making gifs i use photoshop ( i run cc 2017 bc it was th only free version i cld get ldsfkhsdf) and vapoursynth!

first things first: getting the video you want to gif. obviously the better the quality of the video the better the quality of gif, so when im downloading from youtube i usually use a 4k video downloader

if its  vlive i use soshistagram !!!

next step after youve downloaded your gif is to get the frame layers from the specific section that you want to gif. thats where vapousynth comes into play.

if you drag the video you downloaded into vapousynth, you choose the part within the video you want to gif, so say im remaking my last gifset id drag the video into vapoursynth put in like 00:05:40 (the starting time in the video where i wish to gif) and then like 00:00:03 (how many seconds of the video after the start i want vapoursynth to render) and then it’ll open up a tab that looks like this 

from here this is where i usually do my cropping, sharpening and denoising – i use to use topaz labs but that shit hurt my computer like it would take so long for my computer to render it it wasnt even worth it. but i mean topaz labs is pretty good so if your computer is strong enough i definitely suggest looking into it. i just cant lmao. 

okay after you choose the settings that you want (honestly the way i found my preferred settings was just by playing around w them!!), you copy and paste the coding in the white box in the right corner into the app that will open on your computer once you run vapoursynth it looks like this 

you paste the code into the section that says ‘paste here what you copied from resizer’

and if the section of the video runs longer than you wanted (like the screen changes n u just want to cut it out) you can trim it in this app as well if you go to Script > Preview and find the first frame and last frame that you want in the gif. honestly i dont usually do this, i just delete frames in photoshop bc im lazy but then it obviously takes longer to render but . again. lazy.

ANYWAYS once you’re ready to render your video, you go to Script > Encode video and another screen will pop up. make sure you change the header section from ‘no header’ to ‘Y4M’ or it wont work. n then just press start and it’ll do its thing. on my computer it saves the video to my ‘output’ folder and its always titled ‘output.mov’ so it shouldnt be hard 2 find !!

ok !!!!!! hardest part is out of the way!!!!!!! wee!!!!!

now its time for photoshop *crowd boos*

once you’ve opened photoshop, you go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers and find the video that you got from vapousynth ! once you do that this will come up 

here you can cut down the video / limit the frames for its import. i usually limit frames only by 2 or i find it gets a lil weird, this helps a lot if your video is long and you want 2 get it all in the gif without missing parts while also staying under tumblrs gif limits (which i know have been made a lot bigger but i still try to keep mine around 3 MB). then once all thats Done just press OK n it’ll look like this !!

ok lets break this down

TIMELINE 

timeline is basically where u go to adjust the speed of your gif. if you press on the three lines on the right side and press Select All Frames then you can click on the time (in the screenshot its 0.02) and adjust it. i usually go with 0.05-0.06. but it depends. again its all up to your preferences. you can also delete frames n stuff, thats usually what i do to trim down a gif.

LAYERS SECTION OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED 

ok so these are all ur layers !!! usually i select them all and group them so its easier to manage. but this is where you’d add your colouring PSDs or text PSDs to spice up ur gif. 

at the top where it says ‘Add an adjustment’ is where you can edit the colour of your gif, you can obviously mess around and make your own psd or even go Crazy and make a new psd for every gifset. but personally, out of laziness, i just searched tumblr for gif PSDs and used the one i liked the most, and through that i adjust it depend on what i think looks best for the gif im working with. psds make the gif tbh

like the difference... the spice.... the vibrance... its beautiful. 

sometimes i use the sharpening action and in order to use the filters in photoshop you have to change it into a video timeline (see timeline section, at the left bottom corner theres that icon thingy beside where it says forever. just click that) then you select all your layers at the side and go to Filters > Convert for Smart Filters.

then you can go Sharpening and i usually use Smart Sharpen. and its again messing around until your satisfied with how the gif looks. this is my preset for it!

also through this you can blur out words in the gif (which obv u dont have to do its another preference thing i just personally prefer to do it) and once your gifs been converted for smart filters you can use the marquee tool to section off the part you want to blur and then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussain Blur and adjust the strength of the blur !

anyways. thats basically it???????? after your finished and you’re happy with how it came out go to File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy) and this will pop up 

here you can see how many MB’s your gif is to ensure you dont go over. also adjust the presets on the side, thats just how i have mine obviously you can adjust yours to however you want them !

and make sure where it says “Looping Options” it says forever, or else your gif wont loop and you’ll want 2 rip ur hair out once u realize it.

n then boom

so roger is like. he’s got a rep around campus? it’s not necessarily a bad one per say, but. he’s pretty and he’s confident and yeah, he dates a lot. bc roger is a secret romantic tbh ok

not like freddie’s a romantic though. like freddie wants to fall in love and then never ever ever break up with the person he falls in love with because he wants to buy a house and forty cats with them. like freddie genuinely believes he’s incomplete without someone to love and be loved by in return which roger thinks is Super Unhealthy

so roger’s not romantic like that. roger just…. enjoys the excitement of  first date? getting to know someone, letting them get to know you, enjoying those first flushes of could-be-love. roger even somewhat likes when things start to fall apart bc there’s beauty in that too. there’s something beautiful in being able to recognise that you’re not right for another.

so he dates a lot. which, again, isn’t a bad thing. he doesn’t date for the sake of dating? he just. if there’s someone he finds interesting or attractive or funny? he’ll ask them out. 

(this is how he met brian who awkwardly agreed and then blurted out half way through dinner that he was straight, he just didn’t know how to say no. they stay for the whole meal and end up somehow being like… best friends by the end of it.)

(a lot of roger’s friends are people he’s dated in the past, actually)

but yanno for every sort of ex that you’re on good terms with there’s gonna be someone you’re. decidedly not. and ok, rog will be the first? (maybe second actually, freddie will generally be the first) to admit that he’s sometimes not the most….. tactful at breaking off some of the more casual dating he does

like he doesnt ghost on actual relationships but there’s…. there’s definitely some ghosting that’s gone down in the past. some very early cases where he wasnt very clear on the non-exclusive nature of the dating??? 

he was young(er) and stupid okay he has like. a comprehensive set of rules now (a. establish that dates are not exclusive unless explicitly discussed, as all major relationship developments should be. b. no fucking the people you date unless you’re interested in an Actual Relationship bc it blurs lines!!!!! it confuses ppl!!!!!! c. if someone has a rep as a clinger listen to that reputation instead of their insightful analysis in class. the reputation precedes interesting dinner conversation. every. time.)

BUT the important thing to note here is that roger dates a lot of people because he genuinely enjoys dating people, he enjoys getting to know people. he asks out people who he finds interesting for some reason or another. he’s not offended when people say no, like. that’s fine. 

but yeah. he gets stood up.

a fun mix of anger that this was clearly something this person PLANNED and also anxiety that maybe he’s been doing this to people this whole time and he just never noticed???? he’s an Awful Person and he just. didn’t know. 

(which like. the sheer amount of his ex-dates, ex-fucks, and straight up exes that are still friends with him sort of implies that this is not the case? one of his exes is getting married in six months and he’s one of the groomsmen somehow like.)

and JOHN is sitting at the bar. like he’s waiting for his roommate to finish her shift so they can head home together but her shift’s been extended so he’s just. hanging out. eating complimentary bar nuts and being slipped sneaky beers by the on floor manager. and he’d noticed roger walk in, roger had ta’d one of his classes a year or so back and he knows his rep, and he’d sort of been looking forward to watching The Master At Work

like. he was gonna take notes so that he and ronnie (roommate, obvs) could laugh about it when they got home

and before he can even stop himself he’s trailing over there, bar nuts in hand, and awkwardly standing next to the table silently. 

and roger is like distractedly not even looking up from stuffing bread into his mouth and texting freddie who isn’t responding which means, he guesses, that he didn’t get stood up on his date tonight. bully for him. so roger’s like yeah thanks mate not ready to order my main yet. 

and john’s like…. uh. ok. and just thrusts the bar nuts he’s had in his hand for like. ten minutes under his nose like you look sad, do you want a nut?

and roger looks up and just sort of blinks at him for a long moment before bursting out laughing like yes yes i would like a nut, thanks, john

which has john flustered bc a) he’s a MORON oh my god “do you want a nut”??????? what is he????? he wants to DIE and also b) roger. remembers his name?????????

so john stammers out an apology, explains he’s waiting for ronnie (”ronnie…. oh, uh, you probably don’t remember who she is, she’s-” – “your roommate, right? i forgot she was a waitress here, actually. how is she?” – “….. she’s good. sorry, how do you know she’s my roommate?”)

which leads to roger inviting him to sit down as a family of four tries to move past him, but can’t because he’s making a bottleneck in the aisle

so john. sits. bar nuts still in hand.

and roger’s just hella casual like “yeah just got stood up bc im an awful person, how u been”

and john’s like uh technically i asked for none of that information

I don’t allow people to use the meshes mainly bc I know that sometimes I have to go back and update things and this way the recolors don’t have a broken mesh and require that person to redo their package.

heres ur headcanons komaeda! i hope u like them, and if u want me to make any changes just let me know! ill get started on ur aesthetic once this posts! - mod kiibo - as a clown, komaeda was always out to have a bit of fun and trying to put smiles on everyones faces. not everybody was going to like him, and he was aware of this, but if he ever came across anybody that seemed to need any sort of cheering up, he would always do his best to put on a smiling face and act goofy until they started feeling a bit better - komaedas love of making others feel better about themselves and having fun is part of the reason why he enjoyed being around hinata so much, since he was always pulling some sort of prank and trying to make everything more fun for himself. when they got together, komaeda and hinata always had a way to keep the good times going - when it came to nanami, komaeda was incredibly thankful to have her around, as she was often the one that helped him apply his clown makeup. she had a tendency to prefer doing actual makeup, yes, but she didnt mind making different sorts of clown faces that were all completely unique to komaeda, and komaeda was always immensely thankful - any time that hinata wants to prank someone and calls up komaeda, the two of them usually end up pranking izuru, since hinata finds him to be a really easy target since they live together. izuru tries to take all the pranks and such in a lighthearted manner, but sometimes he admits that living with hinata can get to be pretty annoying - even though komaedas perfectly willing to make fun of himself, hes sure that making fun of his qpps is something that he would never do. hinata and nanami are too close to him, and he doesnt want them to think he doesnt care about them or anything. theyre some of the closest people that he has in his life, so he wont take them for granted - of course, just because komaeda wont take them for granted doesnt mean that he wont joke around with them a bit. in fact, a lot of jokes that komaeda makes when hes working as a clown come from jokes hes made when hes near hinata and nanami. the crowd usually loves it, so he doesnt see much of a problem with doing this - as fellow performers, izuru and komaeda sometimes get together to talk about what its like being an acrobat versus what its like being a clown. after discussing it for a little, both komaeda and izuru end up telling each other that theyre glad they dont have each others jobs, and that they would much rather stick to what theyre currently doing - nanami will occasionally give hinata and komaeda makeup tutorials, just in case they might ever need them and so that she can remember her own advice a little more easily. of course, shes a little put off by the fact that one day komaeda ends up poorly contouring his own clown makeup and hinata uses her tips against her, but she didnt expect any less from them - whenever komaeda notices that hinata and nanami seem to be upset about something, he has a tendency to put on his clown persona and do whatever it takes to cheer them up a little bit. sometimes it works really well, and sometimes it doesnt work much at all, but at least komaeda cant say that he never tried - occasionally, komaeda will tell hinata, nanami, and izuru that he became a clown to make light of aspects of himself that some people might not have liked, such as the fact that he was trans. over time, though, komaeda realized that he really continued to put on his clown act and speak in a goofy voice because it helped to make so many people smile

but when i walked in i decided to ignore sam for my own comfort, bc he ignored me the hole day and last night and it was weird. i felt very good not focused on his energy bc it is so strong around me. anywhere. i can tell he wanted the conversations o end, suggesting a shorter way to get back, rushing to get back, and when we got back he basically was like yup lets go like theres nothing else here and just trying so hard to get out of it. i told him I'm not expecting anything out of it, i just needed to say it. and boy i felt so great doing it. and today i told jon everything. how i dont want to be heartbroken anymore or anything and just finally had closure, it was hard and he was pulling cards that would've worked on me from the past, like saying  he's gonna block me and to have a good
