kai is the master of lightning, inheriting it from his father . this is kind of my excuse for him sucking at being a blacksmith in destinyswap. generally he’s the same personality wise , just um yk☺️ anyway . a lot of his more lengthy plot points don’t revolve around him EXCLUSIVELY but instead interactions that he has with the others , though they’re meant to reflect facts about him and his behavior …

kai learns spinjitzu before anyone else on the team , and like i said, he unlocks his golden weapon’s vehicle first too . he doesn’t care much for nunchucks so he actually doesn’t use them often in combat, opting for katanas or pure lightning based attacks , or even just good ol’ right hooks instead (once he reaches his true potential, of course). he CAN use the nunchucks of lightning, but he prefers not to.

when nya was revealed to be the green ninja , kai actually had no idea what it was prior. the golden weapons reacting to her presence was what led lloyd and garmadon to revealing the prophecy, which meant that kai was immediately sent into a world of emotions. inferiority, confusion , worry, anger … he was pretty muddled , and definitely envious of his sister for being so important and destined to be great, but above all , kai was paranoid .

his worry for his sister was all he could think about for a while . it led kai to train pretty excessively. he learned and improved quickly, but his obsession with being strong enough to protect his little sister was definitely not healthy. he’d often linger outside of her room and wake her up with knocking just to make sure she was okay, still there and breathing

eventually he did get over his obsession, learned to mellow out , but he still trained pretty hard because that’s the type of person he is .

(important to note that he might have only mellowed out because lloyd introduced him to the wonderful fact that there is a sequel to his favorite game from childhood, fist to face)

continuing on , when JAY joins the ninja , kai is once again thrown into a state of conflict . this kid they’ve saved is , frankly, a fucking brat with no manners . rich and famous and super intelligent (and kind of cute) or not , jay was negative and annoying and hard to be around . kai was never excited for jay to join them indefinitely, even if he did manage to help nya fix their training equipment . not even because jay was rude to him, because that evened out quickly, but because jay was rude to nya.

kai wouldn’t have gaf if jay kicked him in the shin , the fact that he was being rude to his sister, who had so much to worry about already , ticked him off . at one point , kai had pulled him aside under the guise of “training him”, and essentially cornered him emotionally while they sparred (correction: while kai threw jay around like a yo-yo) until jay cracked and admitted why he was so rude to nya. and unfortunately for kai, he had to sympathize, because jay’s feelings of inferiority and not being good enough were what led kai to act the way he did when he first joined, too

maybe he did hug jay and chide him about being cruel to his sister, and maybe he did subtly watch as jay apologized to nya and asked her to look over some of his blueprints for her opinion ❤️

anywayyy. that’s all i have for ds kai so far (that i can share) !!! hope this was more satisfying than the fact that i CANNOT TALK ABOUT COLE RN…

as always, ds kai facts

- he uses his electricity to fix his hair , but sometimes it gets too staticky and puffs up dramatically … nya has loads of pictures

- he gets hot really easily , he walks around in tank tops more often than not and wearing his gi on warm days is awful for him

- he likes to help harumi with her history homework ❤️

- he tends to lift people when he hugs them, even if they’re way taller than him (like zane. and he WOULD do it to morro, too, but morro beats him to it every time)

- he gets a new piercing, like, every month

- he has freckles !! but there’s only a few clusters and they’re pretty light and tiny . pretty sure he has more scars than freckles

- speaking of some of his scars , specifically , the eyebrow cut and scar on his cheek are both from blacksmithing incidents, but the one on his lip is from a more … upsetting experience

- he’s accidentally blown up two toasters and an electric kettle . he isn’t allowed in the kitchen (or near any electronic devices, for that matter) when he’s sleepy

- kai does maintenance on nya’s hair . he’s the one who suggested she get an undercut

- he can always tell when nya is upset in any way , and he always does what he can to make her feel better . staying up with her to hold her, or offering to cook her something warm and sweet, or trying to take her mind off of it by handing her a controller and turning on their gaming console

- he is a great cook but it is. not likely that he will follow a recipe . he does what he wants thank u

- HE HATES THE COLOR BLUE. HE’S ACTUALLY UPSET THAT HIS GI JS BLUE 😭😭😭😭

- his phone is so cracked omg. and it’s not even his first phone he’s gone through like three before jay finally started fixing his current one

you might notice that rhere's 7 pokemon, meaning 1 more than the full team limit, this is bcuz espurr isnt a pokemon he uses for battling n stuff, but rather as a home pokemon !! espurr reminded me a lot of the cat cakes he has so thats why i added it 😭

the green carbink also isnt really a battling pokemon in this au, but it can be! i dont know if carbinks can be any other color but i will disregard this bcuz ITS MY AU!!! so this is an aventurine carbink that was given to him by diamond, it was originally gonna be a substitue for the cornerstone but then i remembered aventurine smashing up his cornerstone and well! wouldnt be very ethical, so the stonehearts get both the cornerstones and their respective carbinks :3

the shiny salandit (which would probably be a salazzle by now) was inspired by this fic and i just had to

shiny meowscarada just felt like it fit him color scheme-wise and theme-wise? mayhaps? tho now that i think about it maybe it would fit a masked fool more hmm

aggron is a pokemon with pretty high defense i think? so i thought it would fit with his in-game kit

and last but no least, i gave him an espeon bcuz i wanna give ratio an umbreon so they match :3 i dont exactly ship them, i just in general dont really care about ships that much, but i do enjoy their interactions

Denziman - This is a classic case of my favourite character (yellow) + boy i think is the prettiest guy ever (green) and i like to imagine mido flirts his lil heart out and kiyama just does NOT pick it up at all ever. Despite it all kiyama remembers exactly how mido has his coffee which means nothing ok it means nothing

Bioman - JUN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO KILL SHINGO. JUN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO KILL SHINGO

Flashman - remember when Sara saw a corpse and then jumped into Dai's arms and Dai got all flustered and it was really cute but then like an episode later Sara shoved Bun's face into Dai's. Sara fujoshi queen. Green + yellow besties

okay so we’ve been meaning to write this for a while but havent bc we’ve been focusing on other projects. slight disclaimer if u dont agree w this hc thats fine, just dont be a dick just bc it interferes w ur own interpretation . we all have our own ways of reading the text so. Yeah!! lets get started

so i just wanna say akane is a character i resonate with in a lot of ways, and a lot of what im going to say comes from my and others’ experiences. ur identities and experiences r def gonna affect how u view a piece of work right? 

so when i played through the series in 2023, i initially viewed akane as everyone else did: she’s in love with junpei, and even hced her as bi like most of the fandom. but the more i studied the source material, the more i felt thats not rlly the case?? esp after ztd, like im sorry but i cannot buy the idea that both junpei or akane wanna marry each other. junpei is for another day but in terms of akane i wanna talk abt the idea that she may be aromantic. 

immersing myself in the fandom, a lot of ppl’s first impressions of akane’s june persona is that she was initially gonna be this ditzy girl next door who only serves as a love interest for junpei. ofc that ended up not being the case, but i see ppl say that they only rlly cared for akane after finding out she’s zero. which imo is such a missed opportunity for analysis.

as june, akane interacts with the world through tropes. the first thing she does when we’re introduced to her is fall on junpei. and overall is seen as this nervous girl who wouldn’t harm anyone. she flirts w junpei throughout the game, yadda yadda yadda. when it comes to her identity as zero, she desperately wants a perfect ending where she can be with junpei. its guesswork as to which aspects are true of akane, but i personally see these traits as smth she thinks “kanny” would do.

of course, bc of her tumultuous childhood and how she didn’t have many friends, she never rlly had experience w dating. but not much suggests she would beyond her own words.

but actions speak louder than words, and she doesn’t go far beyond flirting and declarations of love. in ztd, she doesn’t even make these advances even when she’s trying to lighten the mood or make things right with junpei. the only time being when she speaks with carlos in the pantry.

june is meant to be seen as the ideal japanese woman, and since performance/identity is a huge part of her character, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that she’s performing heterosexuality/amatonormativity, by extension femininity (but that’s an analysis for another day). 

akane is also slotted into the role of a mother figure for kyle just as sigma with the role of father. i can’t help but think of the scene in little shop of horrors (1986), audrey sings abt a stable and “ideal” middle class life. i remember watching it thinking it was odd, given that im aro and am not interested in settling down or emulating cishet middle class values. but my friend, who is poor just like audrey and akane, told me that it’s a common occurrence for poor ppl to think this way. to want a sense of stability even if it’s stereotypical. i feel like this applies to akane as well. i also hc her with bpd, and instability is a common symptom for us, so it makes sense for her to see junpei as a beacon of such, of normalcy. he’s rlly the only normal part of her childhood. she wants him to fix her lol .

and while we do see oldkane/vlrkane reminisce abt her life w junpei thru kyle, the passcode being jumpydolls, i feel like thats less abt love and more abt the fact that shes lonely, which a lot of ppl mistake that like. love can fix that.. when it rlly cant. not to mention what i said earlier

akane and junpei rarely make physical contact beyond junpei holding her in his arms and hugging. you can of course be a couple and not be that physically affectionate, but junpei is the only one initiating this. also like?? not even an “i love you” when you haven’t seen each other in nine years???????

this is actually a common experience for aros who dont realize aromanticism is even an option. i remember when i was a kid, i’d have daydreams of getting married and dating ppl but when the opportunity actually came, i was uncomfortable and rejected it. 

i feel like junpei’s proposal and akane’s acceptance were reckless of both of them, and probably not even signs of true feelings. junpei’s arc is abt regaining agency, and akane’s is abt control (hashtag cinematic parallels), so it makes sense this would happen. both wish they could return to their childhoods, hence their emotionally immature attitudes + tendency to reminisce abt the past (junpei is counterphobic to this though and eventually gets over it in vlr’s timeline, though akane continues to act this way going forward). poor decision making is a sign of trauma after all. 

i mentioned how akane (and junpei but again. Another story for another day) subverts gendered expectations w her personality. aro ppl (as well as lesbians if u wanna go for a lesbian akane reading) tend to feel disconnected from their agab bc yk we arent straight and like a cishet woman liking a man is a sign of womanhood according to Society............ so like what if ur a girl who likes girls? or doesnt like anyone??? what does that make u??? (again, this could either be a trans reading or a lesbian reading)

anyway my point is. i think its more interesting to read akane’s interest in junpei as her wanting stability and a normal life, esp given that she is traumatized and was once poor. i feel like fluffy junepei fanworks make their dynamic very one-note and lack what makes their dynamic intriguing. but hey!! thats just my opinion as an aro person and how i prefer to interpret it

I have a silly cute headcanon for you. Imagine after the war anyone asks Liam his favourite colour and he says green and Mason is like what because it’s always been different, but Liam just looks at Theo and looks away saying green. Now imagine imagine Theo being asked the same thing but since hes never had a favourite colour before now because it’s really not something he had prioritised with the doctors so in a quick moment of thought he looks at Liam and looks away before turning back and saying blue.

this is sooo cute omg!! i actually havent thought about what their favorite colors may be before, so i like this idea a lot. i dont think their clothes really suggest a favorite color (theo wears dark and neutral colors while liam also wears neutral colors with the occasional black, but he likes to wear red a lot? i think))

i totally agree, i dont think theo ever really thought about his favorite color. doesnt seem like something he'd really care about, even after the dread doctors. if he remembers his favorite color from when he was a child, i think he'd either feel so disconnected from who he was back then that he just doesnt feel the same about that color anymore or he purposely distances himself from anything thats connected to his childhood.

him choosing liams eye color as his favorite makes A Lot of sense to me, since i personally think hes obsessed with liams eyes (well, hes really obsessed with anything that has to do with liam, but yk.) i mean, its literally canon that he stares at liam a lot and they constantly have intense eye contact. theres no doubt in my mind that theo regularly loses himself in liams eyes (i love this concept sm, ive literally included stuff like this in my fics before lmao.)

his first knee jerk reaction being that he responds with blue is so sweet. just him quickly reacting with the first thing that comes to his mind, and obviously liam is always on his mind. afterwards he'd think about it more and realize that he didnt only say it to avoid getting judged for not having a favorite color or whatever else, but that blue has genuinely become his favorite because of liam. theo reminiscing about how hes constantly seeing/looking for liam in his surroundings: the color of his truck, the sky. even in the most random moments, like a small interaction with a stranger that has blue nail polish and all theo can think about is "liams eyes have the same shade."

and liam absolutely feels like the type that couldnt really settle on one favorite color. i see him changing it again and again over the years and mason literally having a whole folder keeping track of how long what color stayed at his favorite and reasons why he had a particular phase liking it, etc. people never know what his favorite color is because everytime someone asks him, he gives a different answer. and once he admits that its green and mason notices that its been green for quite a while now... and then mason notices that it doesnt seem like one of liams phases, but that green seems to be becoming his actual favorite color.

liam is just as obsessed with theos eyes (and theos everything) as theo is with liam. you literally cannot tell me that one of them feels stronger about the other, they're equally as down bad.

also i was so upset by the ending of this run the first time i read it. i have no problem with sad endings to stories but this one made me so upset and i still havent gotten over it. it ends with him losing all the friends he had on earth and going "well im off to space forever now" and i dont know why i reacted so terribly to it but i remember pouting about it for like 2 days

anyways outside of gl1990 i think green lantern: circle of fire is 1000000% worth reading (honestly i only read the first issue, the only with alex & kyle, and the last issue and i got all the important stuff). also completely unbiased and totally no ulterior motivation of new titans #126 (where he just happens to have a rly sweet interaction with rose.....)

i hope this helps u at all <3 i honestly recommend reading all of green lantern 1990 (or well. starting at #48) because its mostly really fun and has a lot of good moments <3333 and if anyone has more kyle recommendations please feel more than welcome to drop them

HI HI HELLO uh . i wasnt actually expecting sm1 to ask about my oc hahah anyway yyeeesss let me rant :))))c (there is lots of ramblings under the cut so)

their name is miharu amachi (if i accidentally say amagi its because its a typo they are not related to hiiro or rinne) pronouns they/them and he/him is ok for them too ^_^ they're like. i think 18 or 19 and they are an idol (yes they are an enstars oc) in the unit crescendo! which is an rp group im in with some friends :D ive drawn one of the other characters before (kiyama) and ive drawn miharu a couple of times too ^_^ (here and here) the colors are so inconsistent i need to make a character design. thingy soon < cannot because i am so busy all the time now

when you first meet them they come across as really calm and cool, and a little like an older sibling. they make sure that you're safe and as long as you are you can do whatever..! mostly. they are a very caring person and they want to make sure that everyone will be alright :D

SOME THINGS ABOUT MIHARU!! i sometimes will call them mimi because nicknames :) theyre mostly associated with green and they love plants. i dont mean like plants. i mean they LOVE plants. you go into their room you will see like five succulents on their desk and a bunch of hanging pots too. they love love plants.

SUPER IMPORTANT!!!! before being an idol, they are an actor! they've acted in plays and such since they were a child and only started doing films when they were a teen (id say like. 15? so they have like 4 years of acting experience) and with this theyve learned how to "act normal" around people so. angst potential anyone? :)

they also have a really nice singing voice! id say their voice is soft and smooth? yeah thats it. they mostly do harmonies in their discography also their dancing isnt All There but they are working on it !! they trip sometimes but its ok they know how to fall because acting 👍

sicne this is an enstars oc i have to say where they went to school! they went to yumenosaki for two years and then had an Unexplained gap year before they went back to the "new ES" < this is a premise/setting thing for the rp group its a whole thing basically the idol course is co-ed now and theres a new dorm building that crescendo is in and theres a whole nother event thats kinda like restructuring its a whole bunch i am Not explaining it well but yeah ^_^ its super fun weve had one session already and i cant wait for more

OOH OOH interactions with others... id say theyre more of a "go with the flow" type person? while in yumenosaki they were always like a backup / backstage dancer of sorts. their whole vibe is. backstage dancers and harmonies (both things they do) aren't needed to make good art, but they're nice to have! miharu isn't always needed but theyre nice to have :) i think a really important part of their character is trying to heal from what theyve experienced in the past (which is subject to change) and learning to accept that yes, you are an important part of this unit and we would miss you if you were gone!

Hi im back having watched the entirety of heavens official blessings and I have some opinions

I hope you’ll happily hear(if not pls just ignore this) bc i dont know anyone else who likes HoB and you are kinda a reason for me watching this! So hopefully you dont mind

The animation was soo good!!

The fight scenes in the sinners pit!!! Xie lian just getting carried and the little bell sounds from Hua chengs boots(no clue why i latched on to that)!!

What was that poison scene?? What- was that real?? I dont think i can process that yet

The flashbacks and how the full story gets revealed is so interesting to me hopefully they keep it similar to that

Now for the characters!! I love Xie lian(he so sweet and kind and i want to know more about him, hes obviously been through a lot and impacted some(if not a lot of people, based on ban yue and what he said in the last episode) and Hua cheng/San Lang(hes a little shit i love him) already, theyre so interesting and fun and you definitely can tell theyve lived for a long time

They’re interactions with each-other and the rest of the cast is so fun and it really gets you hooked

I hope to see more of the supporting cast too!

Also that ring HAS to be important right?? Suddenly appearing after San Lang leaves and consistently being in the credits on the offering alter to Xie Lian no less

The poison scene!!! I'm still surprised that they not only did that but also made it somehow so devoted and romantic, not just sexy. I'm SO curious to see how the second season is going to go. There's some uncertainty about the degree to which it might be changed from the book because of censorship in China but I have my fingers crossed for A: kissing scenes and B: Qi Rong (the Green Ghost) being allowed to absolutely shriek curse-words hilariously like he does in the book.

Hua Cheng IS such a delightful little shit, and he brings out the little shit in Xie Lian, which is adorable. I love their friendship, not just their romance. And HOO BOY has Xie Lian been through a lot, but it just makes his kindness shine more. They are so lovely.

I'm excited for more of the Wind Master in the second season and for their bestie arc with Xie Lian. They make an adorable pair!

No offence to anyone who likes this novel or to the author themselves by the way... maybe.......

Anyway. Recently, I picked up a web novel, called Peerless Immortal Surrounded by Demonic Disciples. The plot seemed great. Guy transmigrates, gains 3 disciples who are all evil in some sort of way, and who are all also in love with him.

I have never been more pissed off than I was reading that novel. The translation is hilariously bad, the writing itself is shit, Jiang Yinghe ( the MC ) is maybe THE flattest character I have ever read about, and all his little disciples are the same way. They have one or two personality traits and thats IT. I get writing multiple characters interacting can be difficult, but come ON!!!!!!!!

Not only does this novel contradict itself. So many times. ITS ALSO A SCUM VILLAIN RIP OFF I AM NOT EVEN JOKING IT IS SO BLATANTLY OBVIOUS

LI HUANHAN, A HEAVENLY DEMON ( LITERALLY CALLED THAT ), WHO HAD DEMON MARKINGS, WEARS ALL BLACK, AND HAS RED EYES. BLACK HAIR TOO.

hi, so the reason for why i keep my circle so small friend wise, especially in school, is because i feel like people aren’t true when it comes to the kind of person that they are and i don’t like that. i think this way for a few reasons

1: The way people will talk about themselves

2: The way people will act with themselves vs. others people

okay so only 2 main reasons :p not a few

so just a rundown on some of the events that will play a part in what I’m talking about,

i played volleyball my freshman year on a new team, i was also dealing with things at home, causing me to emotionally not be stable and cry after i played. that also caused me to get made fun of by many people. very few people were there to help.

ive had very weird and unhealthy interactions with people overall that have hurt me because of their actions towards me. (not just vb related)

BACK TO ORIGINAL THOUGHT

a girl on the team, known for being very unsupportive, posted online about also CRYING after every game, expressing that she never thought she was good enough and how hard the sport is. she is also someone apart of the group that made fun of me.

i don’t think that’s being true to yourself. i mean how can you express that you do something and how much your struggle with it, though you made fun of someone else for doing the same thing? hypocritical right? people will talk about themselves and do things that completely contradict their words.

same thing happened with a girl who was openly causing a problem within a class, she posted on how she struggled with social anxiety. how can you be a bully and also struggle with social anxiety? doesn’t make any sense right?

whenever it comes to an audience ive notice that people will change their characters completely. is that truly healthy?

personally, i don’t think so, which is why i chose not to associate myself with people like that, but it also makes me lonely because of isolation.

my questions for anyone reading (thx for paying attention to my bs for this long :>)

im upset because of the way that ive been treated. i have a problem with my own person values when it comes to this specific topic. i think that people mess up and have human qualities, literally mistakes. i wouldn’t hold flaws against someone and hate them for what they did, but im still hurt and i feel like those actions were unnecessary.

sometimes at a point it made me want to get revenge because of how ill i felt, though at the moment i dont want that to happen at all. i would hate to cause harm to another person, but is that the way things should go so i stop getting hurt? give that same energy back?

(im clearly confused and very uncertain on things)

after some time of thinking: i think maybe i just need to accept the fact that there sometimes isn’t a reason to do things, that people don’t have a real reason to cause harm, that apologies don’t always fix things, and that some things will forever be a mystery
