DETECTIVE I NEED YOUR HELP ONCE AGAIN! Ok so there is this one post I think it was from writing prompts? It was about a vampire and a fairy, the vampire had biten the fairy but they had also eaten the fairy's food, so they had both gone to court over who owed who, and the protagonist of the prompt was the lawyer. I remember it because one of the responses said "Congrats!" "on what?" "your new marriage" or something similar to that
after gettin' this case, i went straight to writing-prompt-s to see if they had any information on this particular post. lookin' for "vampire and fairy" yielded no results, and "vampire" was provin' to be too broad. i was hopin' i could avoid this, but i was gonna need to see THEM again...
i went down to the Search Bar like a disgraced knight crawling back to the king for forgiveness. i asked for "writing prompts vampire and fairy." Google scoffed at me and handed me the direct link to the original post. now this was explainin' why "vampire and fairy" yielded nothing. it's because the prompt referred to them as "fae." now, goin' into the reblogs, i quickly found the exact reply i was lookin' for.
here's your post! i hope the vampire and the fairy live happily ever after! have a great day!
Post Case: Closed

just wanted to say thank you for making sure there are ids on posts most (if not all) the time!!! i personally dont use a screenreader, but i know its definitely a big help to people who do :]
You're welcome! I'm very glad that I can offer this service to people. That said... I hope you don't mind me using your ask as a jumping-off point, but I do have a small announcement to be made regarding image descriptions.
I still plan to add IDs to the majority of posts, and that is not going to change any time soon. However, I've decided that if a post has sufficiently descriptive alt text (what this means will be decided on a case-by-case basis, but I imagine you get the gist), I won't be adding an image description to the post. This is to avoid the redundancy of the same text being provided twice, and also to help me with my workload, as adding IDs – especially to posts with many images – takes up a significant amount of my time and energy running this blog, and unfortunately, has resulted in massive backlog. If the original poster has already done that work, I see little need to do it again myselves.
I am also welcoming any suggestions for groups or places (such as Discord servers) that could help with this workload of adding IDs to submissions. There are many, many submissions stuck in my draft box because they need IDs, and I simply don't have the time, energy, or expertise* for all of them. This is not a request for mod applications, but rather an inquiry into what communities are centered around providing image descriptions, as I know they exist, but have not kept track of their names or links to them. As such, although I am doing my own research, I am also taking word-of-mouth recommendations.
* I sometimes have to do research to give accurate IDs. Finding the right names for artworks, characters, celebrities, etc., as well as the right words to describe what's going on when I struggle with expressing and recognizing emotions, body language, tone, and so on... You can see how the work time adds up.
I'm not saying this to brag about my labor, to be clear. I just want to be transparent about why I'm making this change and seeking out other parties to help with this particular workload. Unless I become omniscient, being unable to recognize Blorbo Bleebus is one of the many small hurdles I will continue to face in providing IDs. If I can simply hand off a post to someone who recognizes Blorbo Bleebus and doesn't have to crawl through several Google searches and fandom wikis to be sure of their name and source, that alone would help.
That's all. Thank you again, anon. If any of you experience any major issues with this arrangement going forward, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

It Ain't Easy Being Green
"Izuku doesn’t mind that he wasn’t the favorite in the agency or even the second favorite."
What's this admin? Posting fic?? It's been 84 years... Here's a snippet from the next installment of the Nighteye Agency Hijinks Series which may or may not ever be completed. Enjoy??
Nighteye agency is quiet when Izuku arrives and he knows he’s the only one in the entire building. Centipeder and Bubble Girl both have left for patrol. Izuku’s been tasked with processing the slightly massive backlog of paperwork and reports that has started to pile up since Sir had begun placing all the agency’s efforts in the Shie Hassaikai case.
He approaches his desk to find his stapler along with his 7cm limited edition All Might figurine encased in a mold of gelatin in the middle of his desk. He surveys the area around the desk cautiously, as if to find an explanation. There’s not even a hint.
“Okay…” he mutters, “Weird.”
He takes a gauntlet covered finger and pokes at the odd culinary construction. As expected it jiggles. The All Might figure is stuck in a pose that makes it look like he’s holding up the stapler twice he’s size over the top his head. Izuku giggles then scrambles to get his phone out to take a picture.
While he would love to keep this weirdly endearing thing on his desk, Izuku really doesn’t think being in gelatin is good for the finish on his All Might figurine.
...
Izuku doesn’t mind that he wasn’t the favorite in the agency or even the second favorite. There’s only three other employees at the Nighteye Agency. His rank among them is pretty obvious. Still there was no doubt in his mind that he belonged. He’d been a crucial part of the raid on the Shie Hakkaisai. He helped save Eri, defeated Overhaul, actually changed a predetermined future. Sir Nighteye, himself, while on deaths door admitted that Deku surpassed his expectations.Thankfully he didn’t die.
Izuku had pretty much cemented his place as Nighteye’s agency.
And then work-study came to a screeching halt. UA required the interns— especially those involved in the Raid— take some mandatory time off for both their physical and emotional health. Aizawa and Nedzu approached Izuku in particular and gave him the option of being able to terminate his employment without penalty.
But taking that option didn’t sit right with Izuku. He put so much work into those few weeks and wanted to see his internship through to the end. Even if he could no longer be able to learn from Sir Nighteye in the capacity that he had imagined he would.
It’s the first of many academic choices he makes without the advice or insight of All Might. The former hero has been spending the majority of his time away from UA, visiting with his former sidekick at the hospital.
…
The next intern day, Izuku cautiously approaches his desk. There don’t seem to be any gelatin concoctions to greet him. He breathes a sigh a relief. As hilarious as that was, cleaning up the resulting mess was a pain.
It isn’t until he goes to turn on the computer that he realizes that his keyboard and mouse are rubber-banded together. Like really rubber-banded together. He picks them up and carefully observes the handywork. There are at least 100 bands wrapped around multiple times. The computer finishes booting up and begins to make a loud beeping sound. The error code due to all the keys being pressed at the same time. The sound startles Izuku and he fumble and drops the devices. They land on the desk with a crack. The control key pops off and slides onto the floor.
Unlike the last incident, this time Izuku isn’t alone. Centipeder is sitting the next desk over working on reports. Izuku turns to him clutching the keyboard to his chest with wide eyes.
“I...um, well.”
Centipeder’s eyes squint and his mandibles make a clicking noise. It’s hard to tell if he is amused or annoyed with Izuku’s predicament.
“You may want to unplug that keyboard,” is all the older hero says before returning back to his report.
….
Uraraka hunches over laughing when Izuku tells her and the rest of the lunch table at UA about his recent encounters at Nighteye agency.
“I think someone is trying to get me to leave,” Izuku tells Iida and Todoroki, who are the only ones who seem to be taking this seriously.
“They are not!” Uraraka says calming down “It’s just fun! At my dad's company they have prank wars all the time.”
Iida reluctantly speaks up, “My brother used to play practical jokes on the senior members of Iidaten when he was younger. But! After what happened I think this is hardly a time to--”
Uraraka shoves a hand over his mouth. “What you’ve gotta do is get whoever’s pranking you back.”
“But I have no idea who it is.”
“Then prank the whole office! There’s only three of you, right? I’ve got some great ideas!”
No longer silenced, Iida speaks up, “This could be disruptive to the work at the agency. What would your employer say?”
Izuku thinks about what Mirio says about Sir Nighteye and his sense of humor.
“You know, I have a feeling that he wouldn’t mind...much.”

Mrs. Bea Juice’s Journal #22
I'm told New York had always been a dynamic city, but the Great War changed it almost overnight. 500,000 New Yorkers went to serve in the armed forces, the port became a hub for supplies and troops heading to Europe, and training camps on Long Island readied them for departure. Manufacturing skyrocketed with the near constant production of military supplies and munitions, and financial institutions on Wall Street helped fund the war effort.
As much as the war stimulated New York’s economy, it also stirred up a lot of anti-immigrant feelings, and Germans took the brunt of local anger. Being immigrants ourselves, we were grateful that the festering anti-immigrant sentiments topside didn't resonate among the Neitherworld’s ghost population below. As always, death was the great equalizer, and the afterlife had no room for such stupid hatred.
Again, hauntings stalled with the distraction of war, and Betel found himself bored. But his boredom wouldn't last. The 1918 Spanish flu kept him and Juno extremely busy once the war ended, when tens of thousands of New Yorkers died during the pandemic. But those numbers were dwarfed by the mortality rate in other cities, like Philadelphia, that had less sophisticated public health departments and mitigation measures. As a plague survivor, Betel always felt compelled to help somehow when a mass outbreak was involved. Not that he'd ever admit it. He claimed Juno conscripted him to help unbury them from the backlog of cases, but Juno and I knew better than to call him out on it. He had a reputation to keep! Sadly, the rest of the world suffered far worse than the U.S., with up to 50 million dead by the time the pandemic burned out two years later.
Luckily, the bliss of the “Roaring Twenties” followed and couldn't be contained, not even by 13 years of prohibition (another element wisely not adopted in the afterlife). Between the massive parties, dancing, jazz, and girls in flapper dresses in attendance, both in the land of the living and the dead, the decade was practically made for a hedonist like Betelgeuse. And he made sure to enjoy every minute of it as if he was going to die again tomorrow. There were definitely a few occasions where I had to pick him, or the body he was possessing, up off the floor after a particularly raucous night. It seemed like the good times would never end. But, as they say, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
On October 29, 1929, the stock market did more than just crash. It cratered, and millions were destitute almost overnight. The financial devastation of “Black Tuesday” reached beyond America, plunging the whole world into The Great Depression. No one was left unscathed. From people who’d been living beyond their means during the euphoria of the roaring twenties to those who’d been dutifully saving only to have their means stripped away when businesses failed and banks unceremoniously died. Millions lost their homes, and shantytown encampments, known as “Hoovervilles,” of tents and rickety cabins sprang up all over the country. New York was no exception, despite construction on skyscrapers like The Empire State Building and The Chrysler Building continuing towards the clouds, and thousands lived in “Hoovervilles” in Central Park and along the Hudson and East rivers. Suddenly, haunted homes across the country were emptied of the living and demand for a “bio-exorcist” crashed like the stock market. So Betel did what anybody would do when unemployment is high.
He went back to school.

THANK YOU @bluberimufim for the tag! RIP your notifs because I have just mentioned you soooooo many times.
THANK YOU @forthesanityofstorytellers for the tag as well!
I do always love being taggged. Even if I end up with a massive backlog (of *ahem* 16 Last Line Tags... RIP my last post). Getting tagged makes me feel popular and loved<3
This is basically a Heads Up Seven Up, I presume, but I don't have to pick my most recent lines. So without further ado...
The page returns with a candle and I tell him my tale. Our words whisper like wind through the winding stone halls, beneath the rounded arches of doorways thicker than our two bodies abreast and nearly as low as I am tall. It’s an old style of architecture, from the days when walls could withstand bombardment. My father has acquired a new kind of siege weapon, purchased just days before I boarded that ship, a weapon that has been turning the tides of battle in kingdoms to the east, that shoots farther than a trebuchet and hits harder than a battering ram. It can blow gates to splinters and crumble the thickest of stone walls as though they were biscuits baked with too little water. A cannon, I think it’s been called. If this peace treaty fails we will see them here, in Dian and in Cithidy, pointed at each other. I lose myself in my story, let it get away from me and take on a life of its own until it is so far from the truth I stop fearing anyone who might be listening could piece it together. Something about flaming catapults and sea monsters with unicorn horns and hundreds of tentacles... the words tumble from my lips before I care to remember them. If only I could hide in my lies forever.
Technically this is 10 sentences. 10 very long sentences. In case anyone was wondering, this section comes directly after this one and right before this one.
I love when the people I tag @ me and/or link back to my post. I love it when you reblog my post with questions, compliments, words of encouragement about my WIP, or even no comment at all. But please make your own post to complete this tag. Please do not turn my post into a reblog chain.
Tagging, with no pressure, as always<3 @ashen-crest, @leisoree, @talesofsorrowandofruin, @marz-writes-shit, @sunset-a-story, @touloserlautrec, @pandoras-comment-box, @laplumedemaureen, and @harps-for-days
@macabremoons, @zeenimf, @stesierra you have, at various points, expressed interest in being on a tag list for this WIP<333 I don't have one going because I am not going to be posting full scenes but together this post and the other two I have linked comprise the longest consecutive snippet of WIPVII I have ever posted so, enjoy if you want to!

𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐍!
★ NAME: Bryn
★ PRONOUNS: she/her.
★ BEST EXPERIENCE: Meeting my girlfriend through RP has to be at the top of the list, and meeting some really great friends too. Just talking about the IC stuff, idk, I'm pretty happy with how things have been going recently?
★ PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: IMs are okay but discord is best! I am very chatty on discord sometimes, and the search function is really helpful for me when it comes to going back and finding old things. I'm also just on discord basically all day in some capacity, so I rarely miss things for long.
★ MOST ACTIVE MUSE: I can basically write any of my DR OCs at the drop of a hat, although Shinobu is the one who I am currently writing most, and have the easiest time writing because of that. I think for me, though, it's more "do I have energy/creativity to write right now at all" rather than if I have muse for a specific character or not - it's not usually the case that I struggle with a specific character at a time when I'm otherwise writing easily.
★ EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS: I started off on a forum in maybe 2006 or 2007, did some stuff on livejournal, had a cup of coffee at Gaia Online, and settled on Tumblr in maybe... 2012? 2013? I've done some things on discord (don't love it for RP) and google docs (it's okay) since then, and a handful of other places, but I think I'm just Here Now, like furniture.
★ RP PET PEEVES:
I have talked about these all so many times so I'll try to keep it brief hahaha.
People who repeatedly drop threads without reaching out to say anything (this is my #1 pet peeve), and people who generally cycle "taking on too many asks/drafts, then dropping all of them, repeat."
People who habitually archive/delete and remake their blogs, especially if they don't make any changes to how they run things, who they interact with, etc. I see it as, like "bringing your bed to your new apartment and being confused as to why you still have bedbugs."
People who post tons of OOCs, as well as things like memes, starter calls, ship calls, etc. while having a massive backlog of drafts and inbox things already.
People who treat OCs/female characters/female OCs dismissively, or as stepping stone interactions.
★ PLOTS OR MEMES: Plots. I honestly don't like memes very much since I feel like they seldom lead to the kind of long-term interactions I like the most, but they're so entrenched on tumblr that I just kinda have to accept them. I would much rather talk to people and plot out loose thread ideas than send in a dialogue prompt from a movie I haven't seen and hope it gets answered and hope that that answer feels like something I can respond to and hope that my reply gets replied to and it's actually a thread. I like doing stuff that develops across multiple threads too, and plotting is much better for that.
★ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: Not really, I don't think. There are pieces of me in all of my characters, of course, and there are superficial similarities sometimes in terms of like, hobbies or interests, but I think the characters who feel like they got more of me mixed into them are like, D&D characters, or characters from my other blogs.
tagged by: @more-than-a-princess also tagging because tumblr is a functional website and perhaps putting things on a new line is the only fix: @timesunder @shishigirls @saburaito @sunbreathr
tagging: @lunaetis @guidedhearts @amaidol @infintasmal @corrpse also tagging myself since that seems to be the only way to not have it break someone else's tag very cool: @quickdeaths

hi, I was going through my archive and stumbled upon that post of yours about getting suspended by staff for having "too many sideblogs" that I had reblogged to spread awareness.
someone I follow got suspended in october also for having too many sideblogs, staff asked them to delete some and only then did they get their account back.
now I'm worried about the amount of sideblogs I have. how many blogs did you have at the time staff suspended you, including the ones you are just a member of? like is it more than 10 or would staff do this randomly to users who have 4-5 blogs including their main?
it's totally bullshit that they do this to active users when many inactives (who won't ever return to tumblr) still have all their blogs and sideblogs and bots are taking up urls one after the other and bothering actual users. I'm sorry they did this to you.
thank you <3 i appreciate your words, it really was a super stressful time for me not knowing whether this blog i've poured my heart into for over a decade was going to get terminated out of nowhere 😭 and in a lot of ways i feel like i still haven't caught up to everything i missed while i was gone, and the backlog just keeps getting bigger
i can't remember exactly how many sideblogs i had back then, but it was definitely more than 10. it seems kind of arbitrary though because i know of people with like 30+ urls and they've been fine?
also the weird thing for me was that they included the blogs i was just a member of, so i didn't even have the power to delete them like they were asking me to. not to sound like a tumblr ancient ™ but back when we didn't have built-in dms or discord, we used to make private sideblogs with our mutuals to talk (kinda similar to the communities feature nowadays) and those were being counted as inactive as well. i'm guessing that since all the posts were private, they appeared to be inactive? because of that i ended up having to leave several of those blogs, so all of those conversations with some of my oldest friends here are now gone :(
it's just so bizarre because it feels like they're going after actual users instead of focusing on the biggest issues at hand? as you said, bots keep taking up urls every single day, and there are so many inactive users who haven't been online in years that still have their massive url hoards. for a while, tumblr used to append "-blog" to inactive urls (which imo was a great idea to free up old urls) but even then, it seemed to be completely random and only applied to very few blogs. i've literally been waiting for a canon url to free up for 9 years and it's completely blank so :/
if you only have 4-5 sideblogs i'd say you're most likely safe! but then again it's always a toss up when it comes to staff so i can also give you some advice just in case:
avoid contacting staff as much as you can
this is just speculation but after talking with the handful of other people i know that went through the same thing, it seems like most of us contacted staff for other issues before being suspended some time later. my guess is that if you pop up on their radar, you run the risk of being scrutinized more closely even for something completely unrelated to the issue you were originally seeking help for.
2. keep your sideblogs few and active
of course, if you have urls you don't really plan on using (even if they're really good) you should free them up because the fewer urls you have, the less risk you run of getting suspended one day. also they'd make a lot of other users happy. if you prefer, you can even give them to your friends or mutuals. it's better than just letting them sit there gathering digital dust.
however, if you have a handful of urls you love and actually plan on using someday, try to keep them active. give them a purpose and occasionally reblog posts, change your header and pfp, etc. (if this seems like a lot of work to you then it's probably best to release those urls)
i had to part with a few urls that i was really fond of back then so i know how hard it is </3 but trust me it's best to just not run the risk if you can avoid it.
3. back up your blog
just in case, because you never know what might happen. this post links to a google doc with several different alternatives to back up your blog. it may take some getting used to at first, but try to choose the method that's easiest for you so you can do it regularly!
--
i hope any of this is helpful for you! and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask! i'd like to help as much as i can so other people don't go through what i did 😭
#ask#Anonymous#sorry for the late reply btw!! i have a mountain of asks i still need to get through and it's a little overwhelming ngl#but i'm gonna try to answer one every few days at least

4 Albums Tag
Once upon a time, @ourladyofomega and @justmakesuresheeatsthemouse each posted 4 or 5 incredibly cool albums that they were listening to intensively during the weeks just prior to the time of their posts, which was, I am sorry to admit, quite some time ago. Then they tagged me to do the same. Thank you so much, both of you. Album tags are always fun, primarily because I got to listen to the music you selected, and you did not disappoint.
I prefer listening to LPs, Eps, singles with B Side songs over listening to song playlists. I think that in most cases albums of songs listened to as a whole best convey the artists’ expression of the complete story they want told. Listening to the individual songs is like reading a quotation from a book. It may be powerful, but it’s still being taken out of context.
At any given point in time, I listen most intensively to albums of which I recently acquired physical media. Here are 4 of the albums I acquired during the past few weeks:
Sonic Youth Live in Brooklyn, NY (2023)
This is the recording of the final live performance given by Sonic Youth in the U.S. after 30 some years of touring. It was played on an outdoor stage at the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn NY on August 12, 2011. Kim, Thurston, Lee and Steve (joined by Mark Ibold, of Pavement, on bass guitar) sound brilliant on this recording.

Super Heroines, Cry For Help (1982/ 2014)
Super Heroines was the punkerest of the deathrock bands formed in Los Angeles during the early 1980s. Cry For Help was their debut album. On this album, Super Heroines featured Sandra Ross on bass guitar; Del Mar Richardson on drums; with vocals and guitar by Eva Ortiz. Eva O. was also briefly one of the many guitarists to come and go from Christian Death and she contributed to their album: Only Theatre of Pain (1982). She was Rozz Williams’ wife from 1987 until shortly before he hanged himself in 1998. She is alleged to have been in a relationship with The Night Prowler, Richard Ramirez, before his arrest. Eva’s 4 decades + making goth rock earned her the title of L.A.’s Queen of Darkness, and she continues to earn that title today. Cry For Help is an embodiment of her dark energy and talent. Eva’s throaty vocals and searing guitarwork gives the album a very cool goth punk sound.

Magic Dirt, Girl (2008)
This is currently my favorite album by Australia’s seminal indie rock band from Geelong, Victoria. Magic Dirt is: Adalita (Srsen)(vocals/guitar), Dean Turner (bass guitar), Raul Sanchez i Jorge (guitar) and Adam Robertson (drums).

Mannequin Pussy, Gypsy Pervert (2014)
Hella talented. Zero fucks to give. I think the band’s name stands for “zero fucks to give.” On Gypsy Pervert, Mannequin Pussy is: Marisa Dabeast (vocals and guitar), Thanasi Paul (guitar) and Drew Adler (drums).

I’m going to take advantage of the precedent set by @ourladyofomega and add a bonus album: The Lion and the Cobra by Sinéad O'Connor (1987). Not something I just acquired. I acquired a number of copies decades ago. In fact, I was surprised to see that I have a cassette tape still in the factory wrap. I’ll have to give it as a gift to someone who I know will appreciate it. I also hadn’t listened to it much for a very long time until recently. Recently. I've listened to it very intensively.

I tag: @ellingerfarmer @bonnieprincegnarly @sage9991 @maldoror-est-mort @experimentv @thedown5 @sexcaprice @cchris47 @left-handed-leftist @cavegirl66 @myfriendgoo94 @quietquietlife @xenon2022 @hannahcheeks @itsmsstone
Look, I know many of you taggees tagged me for similar things and I haven’t responded yet. I know this because I kept the email notifications. In some cases, it was a very long time ago. I didn’t ignore them. I’ve been slowly working my way through a massive backlog of follow-backs and tags. Maybe tagging you now isn’t the appropriate thing to do, but I also know you all have extraordinarily good taste in music and would probably throw up some pretty cool album titles that I'd like to see and hear. And isn’t what I want really the important thing here?
Also anyone else who wants to play please do it. You can even dm me and I’ll edit you onto the list of the tagged and no one will be the wiser. Then Bob’s your uncle.

School on Tuesday / changes to Patreon/Substar
Greetings, everyone.
I wanted to give you a (somewhat) brief update on our project and future plans moving forward. School begins again on Tuesday, and the next three months will be spent studying for an exam. We are quick learners, so it shouldn't be too tough, but depending on how obnoxious the professors become, content production may slow down slightly (but knowing myself, I work much more efficiently under pressure, lol). I'm currently finishing up concept art for the first comic chapters, and we wanted to begin working on it as soon as school started. We are fortunate to be able to use our iPads at school, allowing us to continue focusing on art and literature while away from home.
In any case, in order to avoid overloading myself with work, I will now only post to Patreon and SubscribeStar every two weeks. Throughout that time, we will continue to submit content to our Discord server. Upload schedules will become more frequent again if we can afford to freelance sooner rather than later.
Our Lore Wiki is still in the works. I'm putting together the site from scratch using a website builder, and we appreciate your patience for it a lot. <3 Our texts need a bunch of refinement, and we'd like to provide content when it's 99% ready.
We would be even more grateful for any kind of financial support, as this may effectively become our part-time or full-time work once we graduate in two years. There is a huge backlog of content on our Patreon and Substar, so feel free to check in whenever you like. For just 5€, you get access to pretty much everything we've done so far.
That being said (and it has to be said), we're taking a massive risk with all of this, as we cannot ensure if people will enjoy our project, but as the expression goes, "no risk, no fun," right? And this far it seems rather promising for how little we have to show currently... but there will be more substance to our universe once the website is up and running. We've gotten quite far within one year, and we both feel like we should've started way earlier than that, but it cannot be helped. It's both a kind of marathon and passion in one, which... don't always go hand in hand, but we're trying our best—as much as we hate coming across as pushy elaborating all of this.
Especially now, if you can support artists, please do. A lot of them will lose or have already lost their jobs to AI, and this scheme will only increase as time goes on. It's simply the reality of things. A lot of people don't realize that creatives are just like any other workers—but function a bit differently in their heads than, say, someone working on computers. It's two entirely different universes, and we frankly never see us working as anything else but creatives, as that would break us. It's simply what we were born to do. Autism and other mental hurdles also make working at a company much harder, and nobody there cares for your mental wellbeing, no matter if you're an artist, designer, coder, or builder. Without art, there wouldn't be humanity. As shrimple as that.
We'll probably need to look into some form of investor who can assist fund aspects of the project regardless if our tip jars don't work out, and we have like zero experience with it. At first, I'll try to keep us afloat through commissions, though, until we find better solutions. Every investor has some kind of catch, and we'd like to avoid that as much as possible, be it for copyright or repayment reasons. Being independent seems to be the only way to avoid going into any kind of trouble at all these days. All companies want to use people in one way or another. We're... quite scared of what the future will hold for us, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual with a lot of people.

On Chapter Posts (and What Comes After)
Just a heads-up to everyone that, at least for the time being, I’m putting the chapter posts on moratorium. I’ve been far more critical than not for months on end, and while I do get some satisfaction out of the venting, it’s just gotten more mentally demanding than it’s worth. Compliments are easy and fun to write! I always end up feeling like I have to do more writing to support negativity, however, providing enough explanation to support my complaints, and often going even further to anticipate and preemptively counter responses.
That big slab of nitpicking sits at the top of my to-do list week-in and week-out, a responsibility to keep on top of lest I fall behind, pushing answering asks and working on other projects behind it, and with the chapters of late having become incredibly demotivating, not getting them done means I get nothing done. It certainly doesn’t help that Horikoshi’s writing has become so dependent on fake-outs, asspulls, retcons, and purposefully misleading cliffhangers, all of which make it unrewarding in the extreme to put effort and thought into meaningful analysis on a chapter-by-chapter basis.
I apologize to anyone who was really enjoying them—I’ve had a number of people tell me they love my meticulous breakdowns, and I’m forever grateful that my anal-retentiveness has found some like minds! That said, please don’t fear that I’m out of the BNHA analysis game entirely! I’d just rather focus my attention on larger-scale material, subjects that require analyzing the work as a whole, rather than the week-to-week grind.
First up will be clearing out my ask backlog—not, I think, a terribly burdensome prospect this time—as well as give the Mina fan the answer I promised them months ago to their last reply in our series of lengthy exchanges about Chapter 383.
Afterwards, my current and wishlist projects include:
Below the jump, I've compiled a list of my projects, meta and fanfic alike. Feel free to skim through if you’re interested in what the chapter posts have been keeping me away from!
Meta Projects:
An absolutely massive documentation of heteromorphobia in the main series and Vigilantes that I’ve been erratically working on since March of last year—41 pages and I’m still only at the beginning of the war arc! I’ve been trying to decide if I want to just start posting this in arc-length breakdowns or finish the whole thing first for optimal organization and presentation, though I suppose I could do the former on tumblr and the latter on AO3. Anyone have a preference?
The much-delayed essay laying out the evidence for the possession plot with AFO and Shigaraki not being the originally intended endgame for those characters, at least not in the form it wound up taking. Currently six pages, this one is still mostly bullet points; it also hasn’t been updated to reflect some of the more recent wild inconsistencies. I’d like to give the series time to wrap up whatever it’s going to do with AFO before I publish this one, in case of eleventh hour reveals, but there’s certainly a lot of draft work I could be doing in the meantime.
Some follow-up/companion pieces to my MVA In Memoriam series. I’d like to go back to the PLF Spotting posts, which were intended to run through the anime’s treatment of the PLF in the war arc, and I’ve also been compiling points for a schadenfreude-y post on the dazzling variety of ways the anime’s butchering of MVA has complicated its own future as an adaptation. This would cover things like the anime having to hastily jam in the CRC scene as a flashback because, whoops, it turns out heteromorphobia is going to play a major role in the climax, or the whole-hog deletion of Curious talking about quirk counseling, given that Horikoshi would later directly depict how said counseling exacerbated the psychological abuse Toga was already facing from her parents.
An essay I promised an anon last year about my perception of the MLA’s ideology. I’m salty about what the lazy, rushed writing in the final arc has reduced my favorite villain group in the manga to, however, so at this point, I want to do two things with this piece. First, analyze why the MLA's current portrayal is so problematic*—what they say doesn’t even match up with who they are and how they act now, much less in their MVA portrayal! Second, discuss how I write them, extrapolating from the non-caricatured aspects of their portrayal with the intent of offering a version of the MLA who are still extremist, cultish villains but who are allowed to have some proper nuance, and an ideology that’s actually consistent with their history, their tactics, and their MVA-era characterization.
A number of shorter fancies and trifles that I’ve thought about and taken a few notes on, but have never gotten around to fully drafting: o A post on how heroes and villains respectively engage with dramatic unmaskings. o A post on directionality of movement in visual media, highlighting some particularly interesting examples in BNHA to discuss what those examples indicate about the characters’ mentalities and the narrative’s silent, implicit judgement thereof. o A post on how frustrating it’s been to see all of Toga’s powers and abilities get retroactively leashed to—and limited by—her girly love-love emotions. o A post on the chronic underestimation of Shigaraki Tomura and the woes it consistently leads to. o A post or two analyzing the final beats of each chapter in the War Arcs with the aim of critiquing the way the series undermines the threat presented by the villains during said arcs.
Fanfic Projects:
On the fanfic side, it’s been frustrating me for months now that I haven’t written a substantial piece of non-prompt-driven fanfic for BNHA since January of last year, and even that's being generous with the word "substantial." Before that, I'd have to go all the way back to 2020 to find a non-prompt-based fic with a distinct beginning/middle/end. Suffice to say I’ve got lots of projects on that front!
While the rest of these are all BNHA fic, I do have a Gundam IBO fic I'm, like, two-thirds finished with the final chapter of that I badly want to finally, finally finish. It's basically down to an awkward conversation or two and a pair of wedding vows I've consigned myself to writing by virtue of drawing attention to them in the preceding chapters, RIP.
The perpetually languishing Obon fic, in which Re-Destro has a lot of feelings he is taking care not to examine too closely about his ancestors. Six thousand words and not even halfway finished.
The self-indulgent ShigRD mermaid fic, which has a number of cheerleaders in my friend circle and also my id.
Finish the MLA May AUs.
I'd like to circle back and write something for those last three days of Spinaraki Week Level 3 I never got to.
Brainstorming two distinct massive fix-it fic AUs I would at least like to draft some solid outlines for, even as it's unlikely I'll ever have the patience to write all the scenes about the kids they'd require. o "Forward Different" (the current name on the OneNote tab) would start from the first war arc, being faithful to the canon up to that point, but with major and minor changes that ripple outward to take the story farther and farther from canon the longer it progresses. (In that story: the MLA not folding like a bad hand in the raids, a Lady Nagant who's true to her professed hatred of empty platitudes, OFA being less of a perfectly good pushover, etc.) o "Backward Different" would also start from the first war arc, but things would drastically diverge almost immediately because of a number of strategically placed changes to prior events and character motivations; these would be wildcards to be uncovered or deduced as the story progresses. (In that story: Aoyama was revealed as the traitor all the way back at the training camp, cast members who actually matter turn out to be MLA, OFA is less of a perfectly good pushover, etc.)
I also have a number of deeply backburnery ideas, still more in the category of "idea" than project, that I could to move to more active project status. o The one where my might-as-well-call-them-my-MLA-fancharacter has to team up with Toga post-Jakku and travel across a rapidly unraveling Japan in order to meet back up safely with their allies. o The one where I use an OC detective to examine the official response to the Shimura massacre, and how it got squashed. o The Kotarou Lives AU, in which Kotarou survives said massacre. Look, gang, I just really want to write about AFO gleefully and aggressively coming on to Shimura Nana's deliciously bitter, traumatized, handsome, ignorant son. I also really like my idea for a lead-in/stinger on this one. o The one where Geten busts himself and his allies out of prison, be it the canon-verse story with his now-confirmed cell neighbor Mr. Compress or the teenaged AU where he gets thrown in the same high-security juvie Mustard is in.
And that's about all I can dig up out of my notes at the moment. Let me know if there's anything you guys are particularly interested in, though priority is likely to go to shorter or more fully developed projects. Thanks for reading!
(* In the academic sense, not the moral one.)

Stuff I've had to deal with as a city librarian - Halloween Spooktacular
Hello again boils, ghouls, and nonbinary werewolves! Your old buddy Blue has a backlog of whack-ass stories from her travels as a humble library clerk, so here's a big post fulla laughs, drama, and maybe a few bodily fluids tossed in for flair.
Seriously though, tw for bodily fluids, bugs, and PTSD
*A woman came up to the front desk and asked if we had a quiet area where she could make a zoom call and not disturb anyone. No prob, have people asking that all the time. The study rooms were all full, so she was pointed in the direction of the cafe. A few minutes go by, and suddenly everyone at the desk and the page in the shelves beyond it hears loud ass shouting coming from the cafe. Julie heads down to inspect, hoping it's not a fight she has to break up. Nope, as it turns out, the lady on the zoom call is leading an exercise class. She has a mat and everything, and was leading her class in aerobics when Julie got down there. We quickly moved her to a more out-of-the-way conference room.
*A children's board book was return to us with a bite taken out of it. The area was still wet. We do not know if it was child or beast that took the bite. We had to throw it away regardless.
*We had to bake almost all our DVD cases because we found two with bed bug eggs in them.
*A woman printed out some color pictures and asked if I could check to make sure they came out. I picked up the stack and the first one on top was of an angry-looking woman with her tits out. My surprise must have been pretty evident because the woman I was helping immediately turned red and told me they were for a court case.
*Like everywhere else in this god-forsaken country, homeschooling has been on the rise in these parts. As such, we get parents all the time coming in with printed copies of the curriculum they chose and asking if we have the books recommended by them. Whatever we don't have, we can usually get through inter library loan, but the catch with that is you can only have five going at a time. One day, we had a mother come in with a list of three hundred books her curriculum recommended, and she had us check out catalogue for all of them. Branson started helping her, but her shift ended in the middle of it, so I had to do the rest. It took forever, and we ended up only having about fifty of them because I guess this homeschooling curriculum hasn't been updated since the mid-2000s. To her credit, the mother was very exasperated with homeschooling in general and knows that her daughter doesn't want to do it anymore. Her husband is adamant that their kid not go to public school, however. I fought every urge to say that was fine for him to say when he clearly wasn't doing a goddamn thing to help her.
*There's a patron that comes in whom we know nothing about except that he's had multiple heart attacks and has massive anxiety about potentially having another. We know this because he tells us every time the library gets too loud for him, because he believes the noise will somehow "trigger" another heart attack. Normally, we would have no problem with that; heart attacks are scary, he has every right to be anxious about it and request quiet spots to hang out. However, the problem is that he takes it upon himself to police other patrons in the library who he thinks are being too loud near him. Some children were nearby, working on a puzzle and started getting a little rambunctious, and the dude yelled at the top of his voice for them to shut up and get away from him. We had to speak louder for a patron who was hard of hearing, and the death glare he gave us was chilling. He snaps at anyone who forgets to shut the sound off on their phone. The director finally had to tell him he can't harass patrons and to tell us if he has a problem with someone's volume. He's been better behaved since then, but any time we see him, we're instantly worried he's gonna flip out again.
*A little boy in a wheelchair came in with his family, and my god, that kid could zip around fast. His mom mentioned that she forgot to grab a book for his sister, so he rolled into the kid's area to grab it for her. He was back faster than a patron who could just walk in. And you could tell he was very proud of that fact.
*Shae gave me a Sylveon card about a year ago, and I wear it laminated on my lanyard (because I was originally gonna hang it from my rearview mirror but forgot). It's always a big hit with kids. One little girl, however, liked it so much she asked if she could have it. I chuckled and told her sorry, it was a gift from a friend. She merely replied, "no, I want it" and started making a grab for it. Luckily, she was on the other side of the counter and couldn't reach it, but it was still weird. Especially because her mother was right there and made no move to stop or reprimand her.
*My coworker Branson had to clean...something off the bathroom floor one night. She's adamant it wasn't poop, but also said it was so dried out she had to use a putty knife to scrape it off. Our best guess is vomit.
*I was working on a display at the desk and a little black girl came up to watch me work. We chatted for a little, her asking me all the usual little kid questions. Eventually, she asked me if I had kids. I said no, I liked being an auntie better. Plus, I wasn't married, so I couldn't have kids. She thought for a moment, then said "why don't you just buy one?" Branson was nearby and I heard her choke on a laugh. I was pretty close to losing it myself, and said, "I don't think it's very nice to buy a person." Luckily, her dad came up and they left shortly after, so Branson and I could finally laugh about it.
*A patron and his family got taken to court for not returning almost $200 worth of books and DVDS, after ignoring the four warnings we give people before we actually take that step (because at that point you're actively stealing city property). The patron was ordered by a judge to either bring the items to court or pay to replace them, so he brought them to the courthouse. The clerk was going to take them and the whole thing would have been over and done...except he wouldn't give them to her without a library employee present. He never gave a real reason except he was concerned the clerk would "do something" with the items. So without contacting the library or judge the clerk told him he could bring the books directly to the library. When the judge found out what she'd done, he called the library and told us what was happening, and to hopefully expect the guy in there that night. Predictably, we haven't seen him. This was almost a month ago.
*Branson got a phone call from the county jail, which is actually pretty common for libraries. Patrons get arrested and want to make sure their accounts are clear so they don't potentially get into further trouble with outstanding items. Branson goes through all the hold music and questions to finally get the patron on the line...and he'd dialed the wrong number. Branson felt so bad for him.
*A guy came in to use the computers. Donna was getting him set up, sitting at the desk, so she can only see him from about his torso up. He ended up needing help printing something, so I help him, and finally see the sidearm he's got in a holster on his belt. I tell him the library doesn't allow firearms of any kind, no, I do not care that he has a conceal carry, he can't have a weapon in a municipal building. He's kinda testy about it, asking why we don't have a sign. I tell him we do. He had to walk by it to get in the building. In fact, we have one at all three entrances. He smugly asks me to show him, because he didn't see them. Me, petty bitch that I am, make this fucker walk to all three entrances and show him each sign, then tell him as politely as I can to get rid of the gun before he comes back in. He huffily complies.
*I came into work one day and the director immediately called me to the back. He informed me that a couple was having a loud, angry argument on the patio outside the kid's area, and they called the cops for a wellness check because the woman sounded to be in legit distress. Like, rocking back and forth and screaming swears distress. Cop comes and presumably sends them on their way. We don't know for sure because he came, went out to talk to them, and just...left.
*A guy came in to pick up an inter library loan, and when Branson asked for his card, he said he didn't have one. Like, he wasn't a patron. Never mind how the hell he managed to get a fulfilled ILL without one. Branson informs him he has to get a card before he can check out the book, but it's going to cost him $15 since he lives outside city limits. He tries to pay with a check made out to him from someone else. We tell him that won't work. He leaves to get cash, but then immediately turns around and asks if he can just buy the book. I tell him no, since a) it's not our book to sell and b) we're not in the habit of selling books in the collection anyway. I ask if he'd like me to find it on Amazon for him, and he says no. He leaves and doesn't come back. Bonnie sent the ILL back, and we haven't seen him since.
*A lot of our patrons have conspiracy theory brain rot, so you can only imagine the fanciful tales we heard about the emergency test signal. There were theories it would "activate the nanites" in the covid vaccine and either kill everyone who got one or turn them into liberal zombies. My director had someone 100% seriously call it "the Satan signal". It would have been funny if it weren't so stupid.

Literally imagine how good I would be at my job if I 1. didn't come to work massively sleep deprived 80% of the time & 2. didn't clam up and avoid things when I get scared and then have them build up.
Before I decide if I want 2 quit I want to put in a really solid effort on those things for a little while. So like:
- going to sleep at the actual time for it
- if I don't know what to do with something, asking someone about it as soon as it comes up
- keeping some kind of system to make sure things that r put aside to be dealt with later get checked in on within a few days (or longer if I actively choose for it to be longer) (could even just be post it's saying like when I put something aside and when it's due to be looked at again (at least for physical docs))
-----
I also really need to clear out some backlog which is the scariest thing to me & I think my main source of stress around this job pretty consistently. But also once it's cleared I super don't want it to build up again, you know? Hoping that if I do the above things that won't be such a thing for me?
- also as an added bonus I think going to work slightly before opening & getting myself sort of set up might help me have my day start on a good note rather thn always feeling like I'm late and rushing 2 catch up? something 2 try. Also would be nice not to be late in general bcos I am literally always 5-10 mins late and it makes me hell of self conscious
- also also I want to start wearing makeup to work bcos it creates just a little bit of distance emotionally for me(?). I feel like me going in barefaced all the time is so vulnerable and I want to pop those walls up just a bit more
-----
Idk I hate that I have to think like this bcos wage labor is truly fucked & I shouldn't have 2 be living like this if it's not working but I really rely on the $$ TBH. I want to see if I can make it work bcos if I have to have a job (which I feel like I kind of do? big wait on unemployment benefits if u quit + they r next to nothing + the case person I got assigned was super good at getting me work lmaoo + they make it really punishing to stay unemployed in a lot of ways + a lot of my close ppl r un/underemployed and I like being able to come in in clutch w/r/t money stuff when someone needs a safety net. Maybe there's another path I'm not seeing though?) then this one is pretty nice - if I can make working full time work anywhere I think it would be here?
If u guys have advice I would love to hear it btw, really am super conflicted & anxious about this whole thing so if u know how to do work and not feel fucked up about it all the time (or just like, less of the time) please lmk :o
#i have broached the topic of going part time before and it didn't land but it was in the middle of me getting like a warning for lateness#so I'm also like if I was absolutely crushing it maybe that's something I could ask for again and get more consideration ? u know ?

ooh if you're still doing fic titles: "athanasia" and/or "with full sails", please & thank you!!
friend, I will always put down the writing I am only pretending to be doing in favor of daydreaming about all the stories I could be writing if only I could scrounge up an ounce of self-discipline!
"with full sails": wild card post CotBP AU in which James Norrington still torpedos his own life and ends up trying to commit suicide either by drink or pirate, but he gets caught up with Anamaria's crew instead. She'd be within her rights to leave him to his purpose, but maybe she can either turn him into his family or the authorities for a reward, or maybe he'll yet prove useful - and she can always get rid of him later. My flimsy justification for this is that, in CotBP, Norrington and Anamaria are two otherwise immensely capable characters who are operating on a very different level than Jack(and by extension, Will and Elizabeth) - on the one hand, Norrington doesn't see the value in interrogating Jack if he is no friend of Barbossa; on the other, Anamaria reacts to Will and Elizabeth's suggestions during the Interceptor v. Black Pearl chase sequence by calling them "daft" before Gibbs chimes in with "daft like Jack" - which is to say, I think they both have a well-established streak of. hmm. pragmatic thought: "how do I, in the world in which I live and in the normal conditions in which I operate (which excludes the whole of Jack Sparrow's Jack Sparrowness), achieve my goals with the least amount of hazard?" - which is to say, there's a possibility they could work well together.
"athanasia": ooh. hmm. I think this one would be following the evidence in AWE of a massive backlog of souls dead at sea un-escorted to the next world to its logical conclusion: just about everyone who died in AWE is still waiting around, slowly working their own way on to what's next. This is less than ideal for newly-minted Captain Will Turner, who really didn't enjoy dealing with most of them the first time, but at least his word is - pardon the joke - the final one now. I'm not sure if Jones has to be ferried, or if he's a special case - Beckett, even if he fears death, would be loath to do something like work for Will Turner to avoid it - James Norrington, one suspects, would be an awkward case on several counts, and even now I'm wondering to myself what he'd choose to do. (I say this like I do not have a clear preference for him choosing to stick around, because he suffers so entertainingly.)
send me an ask with a fake title, and I’ll tell you what I would write to go with it!
#thank you for the ask kind friend!!#ask meme#my fic#... sorta#if you're looking over my shoulder watching me type notes for athanasia NO YOU ARE NOT.#except i totally am. pls save me from myself i was supposed to finish customs this year.#polkaknox talks

Olympique Lyonnais - ASSE OLPlay Postgame Interviews
Slowly but surely making my way through the backlog.
Blah blah standard disclaimers apply; if you do invasive shit your ass should be banned from stadiums (maybe THEN you will finally learn!!!); @OL Comms Dept it's fall aka PSL weather; y'all know the speech.
I am not too proud to admit that I had major concerns when Lyon first recruited Vanessa Gilles. How times have changed. Also hard to believe this is the same person Horan said was a massive introvert beginning of last season.
Gilles' interview ft Horan was one of the most chaotic things I have ever seen, and the "condensed" version Lyon posted on Instagram doesn't do the live version justice. Pure and utter chaos, and completely endearing.
Lyon and myself to Vanessa Gilles:
SONIA BOMPASTOR POSTGAME INTERVIEW
Bompastor: Obviously satisfied with the result, three points, and we're top of the table. It's a good thing. So, satisfied overall. Within the context of the game, I think we saw some really good things. I liked what my team presented this evening. So, a lot of satisfaction and we're on a really good streak.
Journalist: We still get the feeling we saw a game of two halves. Lyon was in complete control the first half, the second half was a bit more complicated.
Bompastor: Yeah, we struggled to get going again in the second half. Several different factors can explain that. There were a few substitutions at half time, so that took a while to get going. But also I think the game was very physical, there were a lot of fouls, a lot of stoppage of play. We saw that with the amount of extra time at the end. And so it's not easy in those conditions to keep your rhythm and impose your style of play. I was a little bit frustrated in that regard. But sometimes you just have to deal with it.
Journalist: We also would like a quick word on Lindsey [Horan], who scored a hat trick. For us in the studio, she was voted Player of the Match. Do you agree?
Bompastor: Yes, yes. Lindsey [Horan] had a really great performance. We saw it in the second half, but she had a great game overall. At halftime we showed her one or two clips where she could have pushed forward more and be more decisive. She was able to do that in the second half. She pushed forward a lot, both in the penalty area and also she scored a hat trick, so for her confidence, it's good, for the team as well. When you have Lindsey playing at that level, it's always really positive.
Journalist: For the team, there was a substitute which concerned us a little bit, it was Wendie Renard. Do you have any news?
Bompastor: Listen, it's too soon. In any case, as you saw, we took her off. I think we'll see how she feels tomorrow. We might do some additional exams and tests, and cross our fingers.
Journalist: One last question about the calendar. There are two away games, against Reims and maybe the big clash of the beginning of the season in Paris, but against Paris FC.
Bompastor: Yes, there will obviously the away game next week at Reims, in the Stade Auguste Delaune [Note: the big stadium]. There'll be the international break, and then right after the end of the international break we have Paris FC. Now, I've said it since the beginning of the season, we have a lot of ambition, a talented roster. So we stay concentrated on what we can and should do. The opponents, we give them all the same respect. Obviously when we're preparing for a game we focus on certain elements, but if we play at our level, with the talent and quality we have, we should be able this season to do some really good things. So yeah. Respect the opponents obviously, but have confidence in ourselves and put our game in place so that we can perform at our best.
VANESSA GILLES (FT LINDSEY HORAN) POSTGAME INTERVIEW
Gilles: First of all, thank you. I think it's a derby. A derby is never easy. As the saying goes here in France, you don't play a derby, you win it. I think we saw that with all the physical tackles throughout the game. So hopefully we get to go home with zero injured players. But especially six goals scored, it's - that's not done every day.
[Gilles looks resigned as Horan comes into the shot]
Horan: What was the question?
[Gilles completely loses it]
Journalist: So we have the Player of the Game and Vanessa Gilles. [Gilles is still losing it]. Vanessa, I have a quick question about your goal celebration. Can you tell us about that celebration?
Horan: No, we can't. [Gilles loses it again] We can't talk about that celebration. We can't.
Gilles: [imitating Horan's accent] We can't. [Horan loses it] We can't.
Journalist: Okay, then I'd like you to say something about your teammate, Lindsey Horan, whom we voted Player of the Game.
Gilles: Her? Player of the Game?
Journalist: Well she did score a hat trick. It was her first one for Lyon, that's pretty impressive for her part.
Gilles: If you say so. [Gilles and Horan both lose it]
Horan: Use your words.
Gilles: No, I'm really happy for her. A hat trick, it's [to Horan] Can you stop? I'm trying to be nice.
Horan: Okay, okay.
Gilles: It's true that we don't score hat tricks every day. I'm really happy for her and I hope it's the first of many for her at Lyon. Beyond that, she deserves it, she puts in so much work, sometimes we don't see it, like - how do you say it - defensively, etc. She puts in so much work, she's on every ball, she always puts her teammates in the right situation. So I'm happy that she scored that hat trick because she deserves it.
Journalist: We'll continue with Lindsey right after this, but one last question, Vanessa. We have a statistic, it's that you scored five goals in D1 Arkema, five headers. It's obviously your strong point.
Gilles: Yeah.
Horan: [patting Gilles on the head] The golden head.
Gilles: I don't score often with my feet, so - [Horan completely loses it] It's not a statistic that surprises me.
[Horan and Gilles lose it]
Horan: [still laughing] Incredible stat.
Journalist: Thank you very much, Vanessa. [Gilles completely loses it again]
Journalist: [in English] Lindsey, congratulations for the game. [Gilles is still loses it in the background]
Gilles: [to Horan] Do you need a translator or can I go?
Journalist: [to Gilles] [sounding resigned] You can stay to translate if you want.
Journalist: [in English] The first question - I'm going to do it in French - [in French] the first question, as we said, you were voted Player of the Game. How do you feel after your hat trick? It was your first hat trick with Lyon.
Horan: [in English] How do I feel about it? Sorry, that [your French] was quick. No, I'm very happy, I'm happy we won the game obviously. It's a cool moment for me, it's my first hat trick with the club, with Lyon. I know Sean has it, my ball, somewhere here. But obviously my team put me in good situations to score for tonight.
Journalist: It was a derby, it was highly anticipated here in Lyon against ASSE. For you whom are coming from overseas, is it something you have to learn to take seriously?
Gilles: Well -
Horan: [in English] Well we can see it.
Gilles: The fact we're not allowed to wear green here, that tells us how important the game is.
Horan: [in English] What she said. I felt like what you said was good.
Journalist: More broadly, regarding the team's beginning of the season, we only have wins, no goals conceded. It's a perfect start of the season.
Horan: Yes, we have a really good goalkeeper [Note: she uses the French word for goalkeeper but literally pronounces it as "gardian"].
[Gilles loses it]
Gilles: [in English] Pick a language.
Horan: Franglais is better.
Horan: [in English] One, I think it's a credit to - not just Vanessa - but all of the team defensively and what they do in the backline. As for how our team is progressing forward, we don't want to concede any goals, we want to go and win every single game and continue to play good football.
Journalist: One last question. [Gilles and Horan lose it] There are two more games coming up -
Gilles: I don't know why we're laughing.
Journalist: [nervous laughter] Indeed, it's a little complicated. One last question and we're done. [in English] Lindsey, one more question. Two big games to come. Two away games - [Gilles is still losing it] - against Reims and against Paris FC. [Horan starts laughing as well] It's maybe the biggest one, Paris FC, for the beginning of the season.
Horan: [in English] Yeah. Well I think we focus first on the game against Reims next week. I think that's most important. Have our bodies recover for that game because we took a lot -
Gilles: [to Horan in English] We took a lot of hits out there?
Horan: [to Gilles in English] Well it's true! Was that your answer over there? This is a different interview, isn't it?
Gilles: [in English] Well it's still my answer!
Horan: [in English] Goodness me. Anyway. Focus on that game and then we can move forward.
Journalist: [in English] [sounding depressed] Thank you.

ok so i've been posting to social media for two full years and i've gotten nowhere. just a cursory glance at my page reveals why: saying that "i've been posting" is a little generous as i probably average about one post a month.
granted my productivity has genuinely been that bad for much of those two years, but it's been better recently, and in any case i'm genuinely sitting on a fat backlog of things that i've made but never posted. just absolutely a massive pile in the "upload this" folder.
so this is really weird, and i didn't know this about myself, but i'm actually not super eager to put myself out there on the internet. i really really thought of myself as a super online person, but honestly it's always kinda been as a lurker.
so, like so many things, it turns out i'm just going to have to put these things on a schedule. this is also a change in how i see myself, i always thought i needed to leave my life as unorganized as possible so i have freedom to improvise, but there's been many examples of things not actually getting done when i live like that.
so idk, some kind of a schedule for posting is in order. i don't know what. i don't know who i'm writing this to or why, even. but yeah i felt like putting it out there that i'm going to follow a posting schedule

Yeah, these are both really good caveats. @saym0-0 also pointed out in their tags that the last solid in-universe dates we have from TMA are late 2018 at the end of s4, which I'd honestly forgotten 😅 Thank you both!
I've been relistening to relevant-seeming TMA episodes and we know from MAG 114 that Anya Villette wound up in TMA's reality about two weeks before she went to Hill Top Road in hers, so time definitely isn't perfectly aligned between realities even prior to apocalypse stuff. We don't know if she's from TMAGP's reality or a different one, and we don't really have any idea if those time differences stay constant or fluctuate, so there's really no way for us to tell how offset their timelines might be and my initial post is running on some assumptions that are probably massively unfounded.
That said, I do think it still has a shot at being somewhere in the right neighborhood. Basira's final words in MAG 200 are more or less "if you've heard these tapes it means the fears are in your world now" which on a meta level would still make the final airdate potentially significant, and like you say, it would give relevance to the repeated emphasis on Gwen's backlog.
There are also interesting alignments between the older dates on the last couple cases and a couple TMA episodes, which I said more about here if you're interested--tl;dr the police file in TMAGP 3 is only a little off from the dates of Anya Villette's reality crossing, and the case date for TMAGP 4 is only two days off from the letter to Jonah about Albrecht Von Closen's death, and both of those incidents seem potentially relevant to Protocol. So I do think there will be something to find in looking at how various dates line up, but at this we can really only wait for more info and see.
OHHH, I just thought of something.
It's been bugging me that Norris, Chester, and Augustus started speaking around a year ago, and I've been wondering about the significance of that timing. At first I thought maybe it was some consequence of whatever RedCanary stumbled into at the Magnus Institute, because that was a bit over a year and a half ago--we know from the case numbering system that the episodes are taking place in the present day (episode 2 was taking place on Jan 18 2024; note for my fellow US folks that the dates are the UK standard with day first, not month). And from the dates on the forum posts, RedCanary's series of unfortunate events was in April 2022.
BUT based on their case numbers, which give the date the case's events happened even if that's not said in the episode, all the incidents Sam has looked at so far were from mid 2022. They're not perfectly grouped together; the dolls and Arthur and RedCanary were all April through May 2022, while Daria's therapy appointment was September--that last one's a bit of a jump, but it could have happened depending on how cases are being allotted among the various workers. But they're all close enough that it's a plausible assumption, I think, that FR3-D1 is generally finding these things roughly as they're posted and then adding them into people's queues for review. This would mean they're at a current backlog of around a year and a half. (Looking at you, Gwen...)
If that's the case, and if the OIAR's workers have been maintaining a roughly constant rate, then around a year ago they would probably have been reviewing a lot of cases that FR3-D1 found in early to mid-2021. Which means they'd have been opening files that have been sitting in their database untouched since that time.
MAG200 aired on March 25, 2021.
Whether Chester and Norris are a Ushanka'd JMart, or something resulting purely from Annabelle Caine's manipulation of their voices, or something else entirely... l don't know. But I am betting that they didn't start as part of the system, like Colin thinks they did. I think there was some direct consequence of MAG200's events which led to them being embedded in a post that FR3-D1 scraped up, and that they simply weren't activated and "let loose" until some unknowing office worker clicked on their file.
