HI I STARTED WRITING THIS THE MINUTE I SAW THE PROMPT LIST SO. EXCELLENT TIMING HONESTLY. this was a fun little what-if scenario very much inspired by @firststrikerr nefferious incident fic, you all should go read it, it has incredibly fun argent and chen dynamics. BUT ANYWAY. herald and argent.. go!!!

1. "Oh, the PR department isn't going to like this."

"Oh," Argent says, a slow grin creeping onto her face, teeth as sharp as her smile as she inspects the picture on the fridge. "Oh, the PR department is going to hate this."

Daniel wasn't listening to her, too busy being miserable with his face buried in his hands. He'd been stuck like this for ten minutes now, wordlessly coming to terms with the fact he was getting fired. By this point, he was beginning to make peace with the idea of retiring. He had a good career. Maybe he could come back as a vigilante some time in the future with a proper masked identity this time. It was a miracle he wasn't fired the minute he stepped foot inside Steel's office; then again, maybe it would've been a mercy. That was easily the single most awkward conversation of his life. There's not exactly a tactful way to tell your teammate to not kiss the villain that broke his leg.

"Where did he even find this? I haven't seen anything on the papers yet." Argent tugs it off the fridge, thank god, grabbing a donut before plopping herself on the table next to him.

"I don't know," he groans, the first words he's said since he found it hung up. "They were there when I got here. I haven't seen Ricardo at all today."

"I'm surprised he hasn't tore you a new one yet." She takes a bite of her snack, looking at the pictures like she was reading the morning newspaper. "Cyrus to Puppeteer is one hell of a rebound."

Daniel grimaces, which was an appropriate reaction, but not for the reasons she thinks. Right. He broke up with Cyrus. That was bad enough for Ortega, but now he's made out with Puppeteer. Who is also Cyrus. Except Ortega doesn't know that, because Daniel kept it a secret. For Cyrus. And Puppeteer.

Ricardo was going to kill him.

"How long do you think it'll take till the press gets a hold of this?"

"Maybe... maybe PR will catch it in time?" He pulls his head up, looking at her with impossible hope.

She pauses her eating, looking over the picture to him with a single raised eyebrow. He groans again, dropping his head on the table with a thunk. He can hear her resuming her chewing.

"If it makes you feel any better, I think this is the first time Puppeteer's ever run away from you."

"Please." His suffering is still audible despite his voice being muffled by the table. "Be quiet."

It wasn't fair– what was Daniel supposed to do? They were in an abandoned building, nowhere near to any place the press should've been. He drags a hand over his face. The answer was obviously fight, but Puppeteer was taunting him. Getting riled up would've played right into his hands. He had shambled towards Herald with a stutter in his step that's so easy to connect now that he knows who's behind the mask. He thought the suit was designed to move like that, to play up the inhumanity (a terrible word choice, and it makes Daniel's mouth taste bitter).

"What would it take," he'd hummed, the vocal distorters turning it into a dissonant tune, "to finally make you face the truth?" He took a step forward, and Herald had stared him down, feet steady on the ground. "It was so easy getting what I needed out of you," he whispered. "You were so willing to be fooled." They were close enough to touch, but Puppeteer still had his hands neatly behind his back, and Herald hadn't budged. He had wondered what Cyrus could see on his face, read in his mind.

"You're nothing, Herald– to me, and to the rest of the idiots calling you heroes. Do yourself a favour, and quit before you end up embarrassing yourself again."

He was provoking him. It was clear to anybody who had any idea of the way Puppeteer operates. Part of Herald was tempted to give in– to take the first punch, and finally air out the grief he's been hiding for weeks. Was that his own sense of betrayal, or mental manipulation to goad him into acting? There was no way to be sure. The rest of him had wanted to prove him wrong.

So he did.

He finally closed the gap, quickly enough that Puppeteer didn't have a chance to register what was happening, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling him into a kiss. It wasn't good, his mask isn't exactly one inviting affection, but it wasn't for long. He'd pulled away, and he could imagine the emotions going through Cyrus' face even with the mask on, hands caught halfway between any sort of movement. It was the same look he had when Daniel said he liked hanging out with him the first time they had coffee together. The same look when he admitted he was attracted to him. The same one when Daniel said he loved him.

He hadn't realized his hand had migrated from over his face to settle onto his mouth, and when he finally looks up again, Argent is staring at him, brows furrowed together. Shit.

"Listen, I don't know what's going on between you two, but-"

"You don't need to say it." There's a slight squeak to his voice as he cuts her off. "Please. Whatever you need to say, Steel already told me. I promise."

She smiles again, amused, finishing the last of her snack.

"Whatever you say," she shrugs, swinging her legs off the table to stand back up. "Have fun with Ortega," she sing-songs, turning around before she could see his face.

She throws the picture in the trash as she leaves, leaving Daniel to wallow in peace.

Sorry abt the radio silence on and off again guys, its the same old story tbh, life stuff like fulltime job, just moved again (30 min away but still woof), etc

I havent stopped thinking abt you guys for a minute i stg lol - i keep wanting to come back and post and whatnot, but the fics i promised (and am still in the trenches fighting to finish) have rlly been the big bog down of this blog for me

So i felt like anytime i had to write, i would try to spend writing the fic(s) but that meant no asks getting answered or posted 🫠💔

Ill instead take the pressure off myself to get those done, and simply chip away at it as i please, and focus on asks instead

I think the next big step ive been thinking about for a few months now and decided to go ahead with is clearing my inbox out some!

Ive got rlly old asks that either feel embarassing to answer so late,, or are out of context by now :/, and i definitely think tumblr ate some whole,, so for the new years sake and in order get myself to revive my sagau content blog again, ill be posting only some asks i feel i have good drafts for, despite it being forever ago, but otherwise ill be ready for asks again! 🥹🫶

Also, my ao3 works are now locked down, due to recent AI scrapping, both personally thats been done to one of my works by a rando guest, and that general sweep that happened to ao3 recently.

I believe 4, maybe 5 out of my 6 works were taken.

They are still readable, but you have to be a registered user first, and I think I will be continuing that for my future works, as unfortunate as it is, because i generally like my writing to be accessible. But these idiots are making Ai wanna write stories instead of solve our math problems or clean our streets or something more useful, so here we are.

Really wish I could do something similar for tumblr, but i guess we cant have an ethical peaceful society everywhere...

Yeah, they all (or most) have different names than in the show, partly because id already named Tzaoul, but also to make them fit smoother into the Oiraon universe! I challenged myself to convey their Oiraon version with just looks and vibes alone, i want you to be able to guess who is who without an OG name giving it away >:)

At the moment, Tzaoul/Leo is finished but all secret-y hush-hush because he has exclusive traits that havent been released yet :) and i cant spoil it.

i read 16 books to completion, beta'd for an additional 2, am currently reading 3, and got partway through 5 others before having to put them down.

i maintained my streaming schedule with only a handful of emergency-related exceptions, and drew, uh, a shit ton over the course of the year!

writing goals for 2024:

fix Echoseers (full stylistic rewrite, along with some plot tweaks)

finish the first draft of Goddess-Touched (and edit it hardcore as well)

work on as-yet-unnamed book 4 of tms

fix up Whispers with the added feedback of beta readers

start querying Whispers (i'll look into self publishing down the road if i don't end up finding an agent. the way my brain functions i must cling to the hope of not having to market it myself tooth and nail for the time being)

POTENTIALLY. if my brain fixates on it. write the script for The Lost so that i actually have something to work with to make the comic happen

one of my offline friends is starting to get into writing, and im hoping to help them through some of the early rough patches and potentially co-write a thing with them!!

i completely dropped the ball on the weekly writing updates so im gonna try and get back to that on wednesday. and potentially get back into the weekly ask games!

non-writing goals for 2024:

youtube. i want to make speedpaints and worldbuilding videos and shit. ive already made the basic animation stuff to have a lil sona to do the gesturing for me and i know how to make videos i just havent done it in a While

twitch!! i want to stream a bit more often because its fun and if i let myself branch out into video games as well as art itll be easier to do that. u might see me streaming in the evenings sometime soon. (psst im not streaming this weekend as im still doing a shit ton of holiday/social stuff but the weekend of the 13th ill be back to both patreon and twitch baybee)

SPEAKING OF i want to get my shit together enough to do like. monthly short story releases for my patrons/ko-fi members. early access, that is, so if i post one in january, it'll be posted here a month or two later for all to see/read

i want to read as many books as i did in 2023, if not more! im also considering adding book reviews/thoughts to youtube or patreon/ko-fi perks

my weekend hiatuses aren't going anywhere. having time where im not actively engaging with tumblr + don't feel obligated to do Anything online has done wonders for my mental health and i highly recommend it. focus mode on my phone and leechblock on desktop has helped so so so much

Saw this and decided to do it myself... Obviously no one tagged me. As I carry on procrastinating the final chapter of HYGTG, lemme do this 😂 Also gonna change from AO3 to Tumblr 😊.

1. How many works do you have on Tumblr?

I've got 21 works, majority of them are Enhypen smaus and then there's the few one shots/Imagines. And my longest fanfic which is Invisible a Han Seojun fanfic.

2. What's your total Tumblr word count?

So this is just counting Invisible and the one shots Ive written, 41k... Majority of that is Invisible

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Kpop, specifically the group Enhypen. I add Harry Potter into that.

4. Top five fics by Notes?

Invisible at the top with the masterlist having 649 notes... Ngl seeing this makes me want to rewrite Invisible...

Unexpected Partners has 468 notes. Which makes sense, my Jungwon fics tend to be quite popular.

Peace has 365 notes. This was my first Enha & Harry Potter fic. I do love this one.

You Belong With Me has 337 notes. Another Harry Potter AU with a Jungwon redemption arc...

The Second Choice has 307 notes. Another Jay smau but this one is a Office Au with a toxic bestie.

Olicity {Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak}. I was shipping them from the moment Felicity was introduced on the show.

Damianette {Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Damian Wayne}. All my knowledge of DC has come from reading Maribat fics and I do not regret that in the slightest.

Rogan {Rory Gilmore and Logan Huntzberger}. They will forever be my ultimate ship. In my headcanon they ended up together happily ever after.

15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Its more like whats an idea that I actually want to write... Its a hard one cause I have so many ideas running about in my head that very few of them actually make it to being published...

I guess coming up with backstories for my characters? Making people care even though you are only seeing the story through texts and tweets? Character development and growth?

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I think its quite interesting but I would like a translation somewhere so that I at least know whats been said. Unless its important to the plot then its fine.

Technically it was Pixelberry Choices Mobile Games stories(? dunno what else to call them) specifically I wrote for High School Story and High School Story Class Act. I have since deleted those fics from my tumblr and Wattpad, they are still on AO3 but I've orphaned them.

ughfhghh HI so i dont know if this is a strange thing to do i'm not exactly a tumblr or ao3 veteran but.

so i just found the like, spies are forever series of fics you wrote on ao3 and holy SHITTTT. dude. WHAT THE HELLL.

it's almost 3am where i am right now, so this may just be the sleep deprived rambles of a madman, but i dont have an ao3 account and i just wanted to express how fucking awesome those fics are??

so even though each fic was basically a one shot except for the owen vs vulnerability and rescued curt series, they all just blended together so fucking well, and they all somehow resolve themselves in one chapter and still leave you wanting more out of the au, and it's just executed so perfectly, i know that it's kinda like. writing basics but still i've never been able to do ANYTHING close to that, so it's really fucking cool.

also i love how, despite what i just said, the contrast between each fic jsut really. like. i actually havent finished reading the entire series yet, i'm close to the end but not quite there yet, i just had to stop and express how fucking awesome all of these works are because OH MY GODDD. i've seen a lot of really awesome authors on ao3 but none that really have the amount of contrast and ability to write so many different genres and tropes successfully. i have never had to constantly put down my phone and just stim while reading fic, and i read A LOT. OF. FANFICTION.

Lost in assistance was one of the first fan fics I got in to. The angst was perfection. I never finished reading it because I wanted to wait to binge it once it was complete. I rarely use WATTPAD any more but man a couple years ago that was the app that had some fantastic writers and stories. Holy shit I miss those day but discovering tumblr was a whole nother level. I do hope that one day WP makes a comeback because there truly are some unforgettable stories there.

Been having the toughest year of my life

Hhh im back after years of going off grid (only from tumblr tho). I even got tumblr uninstalled from my phone hhhh. But after i reinstall it, i’ve been reading my posts and it’s mostly from… 2017… which is SEVEN years ago?!?! Are u crazy?! Funny how time can went by so fast yet so slow and it all depends on your perspective and.. particular life events.

And actually, the biggest problem im facing right now it’s not that different from 2017. Which is … WORRYING.

Yeah im probably the biggest and loudest worrier you will ever meet in ur life. (My boyf and my fam can confirm)

I yearned for a more adventurous and sensational life yet i got scared soo easily when im facing something new (and hard and confusing and out of my comfort zone).

2024 has been a lot. Finally finishing university, endlessly searching for jobs, starting a new job. And most of all…. Adulting. Never thought it would be so hard (and melancholic, nostalgic, and quite lonely). I look around and see how people can seem so good at it while im literally hanging on a thread most of the days.

THINK LESS. is one of the lesson i have yet to learn in order to survive. Worrying comes from thinking too much about things that are mostly not true and maybe havent even happened (and prolly never will).

Maybe that’s true. Maybe i think too much (and maybe even taking pride in it)

‘Life’s more painless for the brainless’

Last week was the ultimate nightmare for me. I was crying everyday in the office’s toilet (and even in front of people too). Last week’s event really did take a toll on me and ive taken 2 days of sick leave this week.

But actually with me being sick, it kinda shut a few of my braincells off and make me think…less. Although there’s like a lot of things i have to do, but doing it while being sick makes me think less about the whole idea and just focus more on the task. I kinda dont care if im doing it wrong, or cant meet the deadline or what work will come next. Well maybe that’s actually the trick into being less depressed (not being sick tho, just being focus on what’s in front of you and nothing else).

That aside, i’ve also been questioning this job. Why God put me in this soul-sucking job with a workaholic no empathy boss and a greedy stingy company. I want a job with a (good) purpose. And i just cant seem to connect emotionally with the work im doing and it leaves me working without any sense of meaning.

BUT It is never about the job isnt it?

It’s about how i handle it. It’s about how i can do my best even at the worst and non ideal condition. Even when i cant see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s about trusting. It’s about surrendering. It’s about relying fully on God’s power when i have none left in me.

The job is just a means to an end. It’s never the goal or the destination.

So keep your chin up aneth, take things slowly, enjoy the little things wholly, dont take everything so seriously, and look at life more hopefully.

So i guess that’s it for today. I hope that i can write more often in here.

Oh Tumblr is an amazing place when find your people. Sometimes it takes a while but I'll bet you'll make lots of wonderful friends. I have and I can't imagine not having them in my life to talk to.

I don't write sadly. I have never been blessed with the creative gene but I love to read. That's fantastic that you want to write a novel eventually and what a smart idea to start with fic! I will be sure to read yours when time allows.

And this is auch a fun idea and a great way to get to know others. The holidays can be so hectic so it's nice to have one small thing that is just about bringing joy to someone else.

Have you been on tumblr long? I'll admit, I have a bit of a social media phobia 😅 so I kinda surprised myself when I started this thing. Thought doing this secret santa would be a good way to come of my social media shell 😊.

Yeah, I thought it would be good practice to try to write a mulit-chapter fic before attempting the other idea I had 😂. For all I know, I could be a horrid writer 😅. I got an image of a scene in my head when listening to the song Rearviewmirror by Pearl Jam and just kinda started writing a story around that. It was originally with all OCs, but then I rewrote it as fanfiction to post. Wasn't originally gonna post it, but I figured that would be good practice too haha. I actually haven't even gotten to the original chapters I wrote in the story yet...

Oh and don't feel obligated to read my fic at all! I love readers and feedback, but don't feel like you have to read it ❤.

The idea I have for the novel... I guess I would say it's more in the fantasy genre, with some romance in it. I've written down alot of ideas for it, characters, general plot, etc, but I havent started writing it yet. Fantasy is my favorite genre to read (my fic is not that genre though). What is your favorite genre to read?

Well, I like reading, playing video games when there's time. I have an art degree and recently got a job teaching. My areas are drawing and painting. What are some of your hobbies?

Where did golden gypsy come from? Of course you can ask! But, its not really anything too creative I'm afraid haha. Golden is a reference to type of dog I have. Gypsy is from the Fleetwood Mac song (they're one of my favorite bands).

I have the 2014 live action movie and its sequel as well, but I havent watched them yet. I bought the 2012 series as well, but I'm waiting until I have finished watching the 87 series before I start that one. IM GETTING THE 2003 SERIES (AND THE TURTLES FOREVER MOVIE) AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT :D !!!!!!!!!!! I bought the Last Ronin and read it and I'm very 🥺😭 about it. I'm currently trying to actually write a fic for the Rise movie. I've been drawing art for the 03 series :) ...... turbles :))

Last thing I googled: uuuuhhhh *checks* "magnum pi season 5" (ah, I was trying to figure out when the episodes were filmed/if it was scab work because it started again just this week which seemed too soon after the end of the writers strike and turns out it's actually the second half of the season which aired last spring. bricklaying by evocates - [E] [DCEU] [148k] a fic ive only recently read and has blown my mind out of the water, mostly because of how it tackles organized crime and the dynamics of dceu superbat. it does a wonderful job of worldbuilding and bruce and clark's dialogue is just poetic and philosophical at times its *chefs kiss*.

Didn't Know Which Way Was Home 'Til I Found You by watchingthestars13 - [E] [DCU] [312k] a bit of a meaty fic, it mostly centers on the superbatfam, because its a canon retelling of the batman mythos IF superbat were together since the start. there's this one arc where they all cope with Bruce being dead lost in time and Clark's POV chapters are gut-wrenching with grief and mourning. If you wanna skip to that part it's on Chapter 19.

Porridge (New And Improved) by ren_makoto - [T] [DCU] [19k] - ok this is like. ANGSTY. and kinda dark? the author doesn't tag much but i assure you this is sad, like clark-mourning-for-bruce sad. i don't wanna spoil you because I consider this one of THE superbat classics since this author's been writing superbat since their fanfiction.net/livejournal days. they also have a sort-of sequel wherein its bruce being fucked up called everybody knows the plague is coming.
