thank you for all your jason posts! it's frustrating when some more titans-adjacent fans (especially hurts if you like mia and others too) like to warp any fans of him into being like serial killer fetishists, or act really misogynist and assume one only likes him for being "hawt guy", and then even warp some of his canon faults and shitty moments to be even worse than they are like saying he killed everyone at mia's school or wanted to SA her. at least charge him with the crimes he really did, people.

Also yeah that sexism towards jason fans thing is so real like yeah assuming we're so shallow calling us "fanon fans"/assuming with zero proof that we don't read comics (which you know is just repackaged "fake fan" comicsgate discourse) it's so fucking annoying like "jason fans have stolen traits from other characters and his personality is just fanon and they just like him because they think he's woman-coded because they actually hate women but what can you expect from stupid little girls who wouldn't know any better"

It's almost like because this character is popular amongst women there's this assumption of shallowness.

And also like, I do make a lot of post about how interesting he is and the catharsis he brings but I feel like in the end nothing I say matters when it can be waved aside with "you're just bending backwards to defend your favourite serial killer white boy you fangirl", nevermind 1) my actual gender and 2) that jason isn't even a serial killer. It's like, I feel like being a Jason fan I always have to prove I'm not shallow to others and have a right to my interest, which is a very usual, tiring experience and like, when in doubt people should assume depth and intelligence. Why do I have to defend my depth all the time? I shouldn't have to be defensive all the time I shouldn't have to perform the social equivalent of an IQ test to be allowed to engage in fandom.

There's a lot of sexism in fandom and yes, this can definitely happen to female characters, I've seen the way people talk about Stephanie Brown or Talia al Ghul and Jesus fucking Christ wth. And yes, at large, there's also a question of the impact of sexism on popularity at large, aka characters that would definitely be more popular if they were men. That absolutely does not mean that liking a male character somehow makes you a misogynist (and especially not with how talk of sexism in fandom doesn't often take into account gender stuff) and most importantly sexism in fandom is not limited to sexism towards characters. People are sexist as fuck towards female fans¹, notoriously real life human people. But I'm not fucking shallow. I know when I'm being called a fangirl even if it's dressed up in fandom speech. "Read a comic" how about you read all the meta I've written about all those comics I have read.

So anyway sorry that got a little out of hand I'm pretty upset about that one but I'm really glad you like my posts! I'm just tired because as much as I love literary analysis I just wish I didn't have to be on the defensive all the time. Maybe next time someone claims we're shallow we can join forces to print out all the good JT meta out there into one big book and beat them up with it- aside from that I'm all out of solutions.

WHAT OK THATS INSANE NOT THE G*NSHIN SCRIP BAHAHHAHA i took a look and omg i could rant for hours about how much i wish companies had never identified fandom spaces as a potential source of free publicity... i feel it kills both a fandom and a piece of media when the executives decide they're going to keep tabs on twitter discourse to influence the next season's writing or officially tap into fan creations as an element of their business model... i think the contents in a fandom get more and more stale the more that people are chasing the vetting or approval of the IP holder because there's rigid limitations on the kind of stuff that official accounts will share and "endorse" so it quickly becomes less about fun self expression of your own lovely deranged ideas and more about just doing free work for the company matching their style and content guidelines like at that point you're basically an unpaid employee SPECIALLY if there's some kind of affiliate program that you have to worry about losing if you post the wrong thing. imho looking further into the content creator program one of the "perks" is the "opportunity" of doing free playtesting for them it all comes full circle hahahahah

I’ve split them into categories, gen, ship fics and series. I have also linked a few of my cosplay posts.

I am very much ship and let ship.  I realize that not everyone out there ships the same people.  I am too old and too tired to get into shipping wars and discourse.  I have literally about a thousand other things I would rather do than judge someone based on their shipping preferences.  I don’t block or blacklist or go through people’s profiles to see what they ship.  There is no DNI if you ship xyz or if I find out you ship xyz you will be blocked.  I don’t have time for that.  If I don’t like something I see on someone’s feed, I move on with my life.  That said, I’ll give almost anything a read.  I realize that is not everyone’s cup of tea and I respect that.

Idk what to say except that I can't fake it. I can't fake enthusiasm when I feel none. Is this so shocking? I mean, y'all have to be a bit fatigued as well, no?

I've been in the fandom for something like 10 years, and lately nothing here has changed except for the worse - the predictable kind - the sort I've been talking about since I opened this blog five years ago.

Just this past week, I logged onto Twitter and saw --

Discourse about how Yoongi limping meant he has liver disease.

People talking about how a mentally ill (untreated but employed) diet solo wrote a fan fiction book about Jungkook and is selling it for US$25 + tax.

Discourse about Jungkook's painted nails - some people reaching past Timbuktu to explain why his nail colours couldn't possibly have anything to do with jikook, while another part of the fandom talking about nothing else except that his nail colours are proof jikook are a couple.

Taekookers claiming a 'k-source' has proof taekook fucked 69 in a hot tub in Gangnam as soon as they completed military service and left the BigHit building last month.

Chartmys already drawing up goals for the PTD live album and pegging it against solo album achievements.

Taesoothe and her crew of shooters oscillating between dragging other groups/fandoms and defending Bang Sihyuk as more allegations come out.

Excessive levels of fangirling bordering on outright obsessive worship of any of the members...

Among the myriad of solo filth, conspiracies, discourse, and overall braindead chatter that's normal for k-pop fandoms. And not just in the usual insane pockets of ARMY twitter, but in (previously) somewhat 'normal' ARMY spaces as well...

The discourse is tired and so predictable you can set your watch to it. By this point, we know all the players, the teams, and the tactics. None of this 'discourse' is new and I've written my fair share of posts getting into the weeds with everyone else. I'm not saying this to claim I'm better than anyone else, just that before I didn't mind digging into this discourse because a lot of people were new to k-pop/BTS/jikook and genuinely didn't really understand how things work here.

Also, BTS was releasing good music, actually good music, and that made spending time in this madhouse tolerable to tell you the truth. The last time I liked anything released by BTS was Mona Lisa, which wasn't too long ago tbf, but the last time I loved anything released was RPWP. Over a year ago. That's the fuel that's kept me coming here, kept me logging into Tumblr, Twitter, and k-forums... and I'm overdue for a refueling.

When I say the main reason I stanned BTS and remain involved with all this is the music, I really do mean it. The members are good people, I care for jikook, Joon, Hobi, Jin, Tae, and Yoongi, but the main reason I give them my money, attention, and invest in the fandom and in their company is the music they make. If that starts going to shit, nobody could pay me enough to continue giving a fuck. I'll likely liquidate my investment in HYBE and cash out.

All this to say, I'm still here... not jumping ship yet.

I see your asks and I try to answer a few (lately I've been trying to be more consistent out of respect for the followers that still somehow come to this cobwebbed patch of the internet), but I also don't feel interested (or fueled) enough to actively engage the way I used to. Not even the most explicit jikookery in AYS2 will change how I feel if there's no decent music on the back of it. I guess this settles the question on if I'm really a jikooker after all lmao.

Anyway, I'm here still kinda answering asks and patiently holding out until the guys release new music, maybe later this year and definitely next year. Cautiously watching and hoping that Scooter's fingerprint is on as few songs as possible because at this point, I've seen what he can deliver and want none of it.

In the meantime, to answer the asks about AYS2 the fact is I'm not all that excited and this should be unsurprising for older followers of my blog given what I've said before about BTS auxiliary content like SOOP or, more recently, AYS. I like jikook so I'll probably still watch it and might even love it, but until it comes out I have nothing to say about it. I have no hopes or expectations or wishlists for AYS because it's not the sort of content that appeals to me anyway. I'd feel a bit differently if it was a GCF, but editorially and functionally, it's not. So there's that.

while i am forever more a larrie than i am not a larrie, i do think it’s a bit dishonest saying that louis can’t go around talking about privacy, then be public about his relationship. normal couples do that all the time. they post online here and there, but a majority of their relationship is still private. it would be different if they were being publicly dangerous to themselves or others. tbh, they could air out all their business, it doesn’t mean we get in it. he can tell her “i love you,” that doesn’t negate that he wants and deserves privacy. the whole “louis/harry want privacy, but then they’re mildly open about this so called relationship two or three times, so now that means what they said before is false” thing seems to be a longstanding issue with larries tbh, going as far back as 2012 from what i remember; beginning of elounor, the closeting, all that mess. louis has been pretty consistent when it comes to being both private, yet open, so i just don’t rly see how that’s a valid enough piece of proof for a stunt. i think it just makes us look even crazier than we already look by making black and white assumptions/statements, and hyper analyzing a relationship we already have good reason to assume is fake anyways.

I think you make some valid points- I mostly take issue with the argument of “it makes us look crazier” because I don’t actually give a fuck how “we” look. There are larries who have big feelings about things and post those big feelings online. As long as they are not @ ing the boys, their families, their people/circles, or saying mean/vile things, then I don’t really care that much what they say and/or how it looks. I’m not here to police or monitor how people other people feel about these things, as long as those big feelings live within the boundaries of fandom discourse. Louis is a public figure, and he absolutely deserves privacy. Both of those things can be true.

As far as obsessively analyzing a relationship or using tiny things as proof, lol, that’s been happening since the beginning, like you said. It happened with Hannah, Eleanor, Danielle, and now Zara (it’s Zara, right?). Do I, Amanda, personally agree with all of the analysis or the “takes” that everyone else has? No. I don’t. And I do agree with you that there is a lotttttt of black and white thinking/statements here. Nuance is *key.*

That said! There is something to note about the very different attitude both H/L take when it comes to their relationships publicly versus how they talk about their relationships. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that both Harry and Louis have stressed in the past that they prefer to keep that part of their lives private. I also don’t think it’s unfair to say that they refuse to answer certain questions directly about influences for their songs/lyrics about romantic love, when it would be pretty damn easy to draw a line from public declarations of love and devotion to inspiration for lyrics. I don’t think people are incorrect for noticing those things being at odds with each other, for noticing the tension between those dynamics. Is that proof of something? No, of course not. But it is the sort of thing we can notice and even discuss. Maybe not everyone in this fandom goes about these discussions in the best way, I can agree to that, but again, I’m not interested in and I’m not here to monitor discourse. There are my opinions! Take them with massive truckloads of salt.

y'all....this au is insane. like genuinely one of the coolest concepts i have seen in this fandom. lance, taken by the galra as an infant and raised by them (altho they treat him like shit, obviously, so fair warning for that), as an asset, because they know he is the blue paladin, because he can See things he should not be able to see? and then he has to get integrated into voltron...yall nothing i can say can do this au justice. there's this almost ethereal feel to the entire fic, there were several moments where my chest was swoopy and my breathing was off bc i was like oh god oh god oh god. the complicated relationships, lance's struggle, and ALSO BONUS!!! das thace!!! i miss dad thace!!! do my fellow voltron geriatrics remember when dad thace was everywhere!! bc i do!! and i miss it!!!

i dont know how to say this in a nice way or whatever but i choose not to spend time on fandom twitter or fandom tiktok for a reason, and im very tired of a certain form of tumblr fandom that seems to position itself specifically as responding to these other iterations of fandom. i dont mean like "people aren't reblogging" thats true but thats not what i mean. i mean that so much of active tumblr fandom discourse (at least where i've been hanging out) seems to be engaging with/reacting to some different, worse discourse that's happening on some other platform. like im not saying people shouldnt have a space to vent about bad takes, its their life etc, i love a good deconstruction post too, but when twitter's bad takes are dominating the conversation that we're having....on tumblr....then like....what are doing here? does anyone else know im talking about? like do you see this at play in your own spaces? or am i just seeing fake patterns and being grumpy on main (possible)

To Whom It May Concern

It has been precisely one year and one month to the fact that I first came across this malady that has been plaguing our fandom. Other fandoms have been more or less unfortunate in this regard. What started as a lighthearted joke has now turned into a toxic, vile, festering wound. For a long time I either ignored these blogs and their opinions or very politely tried to dismiss them. For an even longer time I was made to feel that I was in the wrong. After all we live in a free society and all of us believe int he idea of freedom of speech, freedom to hold whatever views and beliefs, and freedom to express those views and beliefs. But the very same citizens of these free society's in today's world are also facing a dilemma: how far does this right go? Is it unconditional? Is it absolute? Or does it qualify to some form of check or some form of necessary derogation under exceptional circumstances? When do those circumstances arise?

Most of us have come to an understanding in regard to the question, though all of us may not agree to it: it is understood that where your right to exercise your freedom offends and restricts my right to do or causes in any way for me or anyone else to feel endangered, then that is where we draw the line.

Reading @do-angels-dream-of-starry-seas 's post today I have come to the conclusion that the time has come to draw that line. It is a question on where we stand as a fandom if we let such bigotry and such hate prevail any longer.

I want to let everyone know where I stand. I have nothing against fanfiction. I have nothing against RPF. People have been creating RPF since time immemorial. If not for RPF a large amount of literature, film, music and other forms of art would not exist. Shakespear's Histories are essentially RPF, Hamilton is RPF, Netflix's The Crown is RPF, Le Morte d'Arthur is RPF, Baz Luhrman's Elvis is RPF and so is Andrew Dominic's Blonde. You may like some of it, you might dislike some of it. You might even be vehemently against some of it. But that's all it is at the end of the day; fiction. It doesn't hurt anyone. The real problem arises when people start becoming unbale to differentiate between fiction and reality. And that's no better than thinking that just cz someone played a serial killer in a movie means they're evil irl too.

It becomes suffocating for others to exist in these spaces when the delusion that the RFP is real transcends to take an even worse shape namely hating the real people involved in said person's life. How could you justify hating on their real life partners just so you can satisfy your delusional belief that these men are actually in love with each other.

Maybe it springs from a need to justify our lives in terms of conspiracy theories in this growing pandemic of untruths and fake news. Maybe it springs from some deep rooted internalized misogyny. Who can say?

Before I move on I want to highlight some problems with the wntire tinhatter discourse.

The existence of a PR. I want to clarify this here and now. PR works for important, famous, insanely rich people whose global fame makes their identity a part of the public domain so much that their entire image needs to be curated to meet certain requirements. PR works for Taylor Swift and Leonardo DiCaprio and Barak Obama. Who is does NOT work for are people who are only locally well known, live reasonably ordinary lifestyles, and have a painfully insignificant following outside their own cultural context.

The idea that one picture or a five second video can tell the truth about someone's entire personal life. It cannot. It never will. Body language is not even a science. Body language is misleading. Facial expressions are misleading. I am writing this right now with the most bland expression on my face. People around me think I'm writing an email. My internal emotions right now are another story. Moreover no one owes anyone any sort of information on their personal life, their love life, their mood, their life choices or whatever. Their lives are not public property. Please respect that.

The women are the villains. This blatant misogyny has become intolerable as the days go by considering most of these posts are written by women themselves. The whole controlling wife, poor meek guy trope is so fckng infuriating. When did we wake up to a world where women hold the reigns and an adult white upper middle class male cannot tell her that he wants a divorce. I thought this only happened to unprivileged women in third world countries who cannot file a divorce bcs then she will be left penniless and socially disgraced. The women baby trapped them. Of course they feel responsibility for the kids now. Child birth is the second most painful experience after being burnt to death. No woman does it for the pleasure of it nor for some strategic benefit that it will serve her. And giving birth to not just one but many. And then raising them. That's not easy! Secondly, having children is a mutual decision and process. If only women could make babies, we'd get rid of men for good lol! (this is a joke plz don't @ me) If someone decides to have children with someone, and we're not talking just one accidental pregnancy or sth... we're talking several kids over the years.... then they probably have that level of attachment, love and commitment to their partner. It's just common sense.

Absolute cynicism. Anything Georgia and Anna do is met with cynicism and their words are deliberately twisted to mean the opposite. While D and M will be applauded for speaking up for a cause, when G and A do the same, they are shouted down as pretentious or that PR made them do it. When D and M show affection towards each other that's all real and true but when G and A show affection to their partners it fake and a PR stunt. Moreover, the way they interact with their partners is also completely misunderstood. Anna is more private and subtle about her gestures of praise and affection. But from what she does show publicly we know that she absolutely adores her partner and her kids. Georgia on the other hand has her own way. She teases, makes jokes, pokes fun at him, but she's also literally the woman that is being ultra-horny for him on Twitter and Instagram in front of everyone else. And I think that comes from the fact that they were friends first and lovers second and they have maintained that playful friendly relationship with each other. Still, she is accused of never being appreciative, being cringey, possessive, creepy and always bringing him down. Oh, and we never talk about how Michael next to never promotes Davis's achievements. In fact, no one else I know does it. Literally the only person is Georgia jumping up and down going "This is my partner! Have you seen them! Have you seen how awesome they are! I love them!" Not just that, these tinhatters have such double standards that while D's neurodivergent traits are being praised, G takes the rap for it. She's a careless mum, an unworthy partner; none of her professional achievements matter. She is fighting her dyslexia and neurodivergence to achieve something but the tinhatters will make ableist remarks to bring her down. But they don't just stop there. They accuse her of abuse, rape and cyber harassment. Pray that she doesn't find out because accusing someone of that can get you behind the bars hon!

I know that none of this is going to disappear over night. We fight the fight every day and we hope that tumblr goes back to being the safe space it once was. But till then, it is important that we stay strong and stay together. I have had people come into my ds with links and other stuff that made me want to jump off a cliff. I have been subjected to some horrendous lies, all in a bid to 'convert' me. Sadly that's not happening babes.

So I just want these tinhatters to know that if you're here, then we're here too. And no matter how much of this toxic bile you keep spewing we'll keep washing it away. And that @dtmsrpfcringe and @goodomenswarning don't have to do it alone. If you wanna go at them then come at me bitches!

Open hate ruins fandoms. Constant biased rants from “hate lovers” shouldn’t be normal.

A portion of the fandom either hate AA or ignore the hate - so even people who’ve never played Astarion’s route start repeating countless anti-AA headcanons.

When hate dominates, it invites trolls who thrive on toxicity, coming only for their daily dose of spite.

You keep your own negative opinion about Karlach - and that’s a healthy, constructive approach. And you’re not out here claiming to love Karlach for being written to irritate you.

It’s like if Astarion’s fandom was made up of guys competing over who stabbed him harder with a wooden stake in Act 1 - over how much they hate him.

“I’m a Astarion fan and the way he’s written, a brilliantly crafted bastard who does deserve death. Come on, this not hate, just admit it's true, girliey. The most irritating character I’ve seen in decades - and that’s great. He’s like that dumb nepo-coworker of mine who hurt me for three years”.

In AA’s case, it’s like a punch to the balls and other. A constant overpush of “just admit it”.

Anti-AA behavior mirrors bully-troll tactics, yet somehow it’s normalized in Astarion fandom. That’s why people avoid the space. As long as that “okay”, very few people will be able to love both routes.

A fan-space meant for love, twisted by a one group into: “it’s okay to hate this here”. Hate fans don’t build - they destroy.

i guess these types of blogs rub a lot of ppl the wrong way. i'm not super concerned about ppl hating ascended astarion, though. my original point is that we shouldn't be needlessly posting screenshots of ppl's fics to make a point about mischaracterization. i think this is the opposite of good fandom spirit and it's just outright rude and annoying behavior.

i never really get into the whole ascension discourse, but i can share my basic feelings. i guess i might as well at this point, bc i feel like it. i feel like there are some valid criticisms of astarion's ascension. but i believe most of these are only valid from a specific point of view. there is a certain type of person who is overly concerned about morality and appearing "good", even when playing a fantasy rpg, even when their morality is neither at stake nor in question. and i am not this type of person. and i think because of this, i simply don't give a fuck that people hate ascended astarion or hate the ascension ritual or hate ppl who choose the ascension route. and i agree with you. i think it's wrong to say bad things abt ppl regarding their rpg choices, but i must repeat that i still have not personally come across this so i just cannot speak on it. it doesn't affect me bc it doesn't exist to me.

i appreciate what you have said regarding my feelings for karlach. that's probably the first time anything about me has ever been referred to as either healthy or constructive. in honesty, i try to keep these feelings to myself for the most part. most ppl probably don't fucking care that i can't tolerate her. just as i couldn't care less about anyone hating astarion, ascended or otherwise.

though, your words make me think... "and you're not out here claiming to love karlach for being written to irritate you..." i know you mean this is not the case, and you're right. but in a way, i think it actually is. this is just the nature of having a personality (or having your personality written for you), different people will have different feelings for you based on your personality. some people will adore you, but you cannot please everybody. i believe karlach was intended to be a very well-beloved character, to be sweet and kind-hearted and all that good stuff about her. so like, she basically was written to irritate someone exactly like myself. and that's okay.

as i said, though. to some people, astarion really is just a sassy annoying vampire who was written to be killed with a stake and done with. this isn't an incorrect interpretation and it's not a limited one, either. that's exactly and entirely who he is to some people. but you're right, these people aren't exactly "astarion fans".

my suggestion is to avoid this type of negativity and the blogs that post it. this blog will always be a space for ppl to appreciate astarion and especially ascended astarion, and there are other good blogs to follow too. but these anon/critical blogs are entitled to exist and post what they want. people simply love to post hate for fictional characters and to use fictional characters and fantasy rpg plotlines to virtue-signal. and they're probably gonna always be around (or at least as long as they're interested in running the blog) so you might as well just get over it or block them. i mean, you can do what i do, which is just mostly mind my business and enjoy the fics and hcs and characters that i enjoy and not worry about what other ppl think. or you can vent to me, that's okay too since i'm always willing to listen. i do want to know more about these fake-deep analyses you mentioned.

but yeah like i can't just ignore when people post screenies of fics to say "you're wrong and i'm right and here's why *repeats basic analysis and while not incorrect, doesn't add anything new to this two year old conversation*" anyways

You‘re so right, some people in the ml fandom are so… sensitive (for the lack of a better world) when it comes to opinions that aren‘t exactly theirs. Though I‘d say the fandom has such a special case of this because interpretations of character beats and plot points etc. are interpreted in wildly different ways by everyone. Cutesy flirting vs SA, redemption vs damnation, which character has the better moral and so much more. Combined with how attaches fans are to their faves, any productive discourse is almost impossible. You can‘t dislike a character without someone accusing you of sexism, racism, abuse apologia…

The level of insanity is crazy

My point in the now gone forever post was that S6 lacks goals/hope/positive things to look forward to.

Previously we had the love square antics, the reveal, and taking down Gabe.

Gabe's gone in a way that satisfied nobody. Chrysalis isn't yet a presence.

The rest of the love square was not just let go but actively shown to be bad in order to get to adrinette.

With 4+ more seasons to go and multiple fake outs, no one thinks the reveal is happening anytime soon.

So ... What are we supposed to look forward to?

We need something to look forward to. We need a goal. We need something to dream about like we dreamt before, because oh how we dreamt.

S6 hasn't given us that yet. 'Marinette stops lying to Adrien' doesn't count. Wanting the pain to stop doesn't inspire hope(often)

Hi, i don’t have a problem with single Alina as an opinion , I mean it’s probably someone who cares about Alina herself so it’s nothing to dislike. I get there are fandom discourse about leaving a woman single with intentions of just getting rid of her from a ship or (in a lot of cases of female characters of color) because they have problem with them being in a romantic relationship because they can’t wrap their mind around it for a benevolent racism. Neither seems to be the case of Alina so single Alina is cool ,as long as there’s no Mal hate or at the very least is not an hypocritical view of him in comparison of other male characters.

Now your question first: everyone told me Mal was an abuser who forced Alina to give up her powers. So,that’s gonna be a bias, i certainly don’t know if my enjoyment would have been different without that. For the record, since Shadow and Bone i quickly called bullshit on it because even at his worst he certainly didn’t seem like he would do something like that.

Why I like them? They have some of the most romantic scenes in the whole series, to me it’s the kiss on the cell and when Mal saves her from the debris. It’s not the most complex development and has it issues but it’s very undoubtedly that they loved each other so for me was pretty simple: If Alina loves him and he loves her, then that’s good enough for a happy ending.

The first two books pretty much end up in that ,they might fight and have disagreements but they will shallow their pride for the sake of the other, and that their love for each other is stronger than their flaws. By R&R I’d say they have started to understand each other: For Alina, Mal,the guy who fit everywhere he went,actually never felt he belonged anywhere, she was her only real friend. Mal oth realizes that Alina,the girl who always made him happy, always felt insecure and down, they realize they took each other for granted (him more than her,to be fair) and Mal specially are trying to make up for it, finding out that,after all,they were actually the only person that understood each other; they have pretty much given up on their identity, Mal embraced a fate of being a martyr for Alina and she embracing being a matyr for Ravka , so their false death gave them a shot to be another person, a sacrifice that was both of their powers but allow them to be themselves (ironically taking in count they are having fake identities)

To add, they don’t have what happens with other fictional couples when you wonder “what does this people do when they are not whining about not being able to be together” because their relationship is shown as stablished and have some banther, both are kind of dorky that think the other is cool , they have fun together and are pretty unashamedly loving with each other

So, i don’t want to make a long post,so that’s the short answer, I don’t think there’s anything bad with wanting Alina to be single but there’s nothing bad or narrative betraying with her ending up with Mal either

i feel bad for people stumbling into this so here why we're making fake omegaverse discourse:

some blog was like "you know what? send me your dsmp omegaverse discourse (in universe)". Someone sent one relating to QSMP that the person posted because it was too tunny to pass. some people started to rp in the reblogs.

now, we haven't had any qsmp stream for 24+ hours. this is usually accompanied with us losing our mind and doing bits. And we all know how much we love a good bit on tumblr and the qsmp fandom. So people started to make fake discourse post because it's funny to make fake discourse that's obviously fake. and here it's doubled with omegaverse which is its own fun itself!

anyway dont worry we're just joking and actually not being nsfw as far as I've seen we're just doing a bit of creative writing <3

what u said wasn't wrong. your point was clear and even tho at first it could be mislead, a second read makes us understand it.

ppl have been attacking you for it and u dont deserve it. i get they are tired of those fake sambucky stans that are actually only bucky stans, i am too but the sambucky/sam fandom is being really close minded and rude those days.

i cant blame them, because sometimes they are right when they fight ppl but other times they fight with ppl like u who genuinely likes sam and sambucky and it makes enjoying both things very hard.

the ppl who came fightin u are the ones that for a 2 min scene in the last movie decided to hate on bucky, erase everything he did for sam and how important his comfort was for sam in ca4.

their hate for bucky is more important than listening to what other sam fans want to say.

im a sam fan, im a sambucky shipper but i am also a bucky fan (not the insufferable ones. i am capable of calling him out on his bullshit or admit that the writing in the last movie was awful) and i have seen those fans being absolutely mean with a lot of ppl. they do it well with those racist thunderbolts fans and those racist bucky stans. however, they fight everyone even the ones who likes sam and it's not normal.

they dont know how to separate characters from their fans.

bucky fans are insufferable to the point i decided to not engage with the fandom that much. however, this doesn't mean we should pretend bucky was awful to sam in every movie and show they were together cause its not true. so your point was not wrong, and u have been getting attacked for nothing.

as someone else told u, a lot of sam's stans dont realise they are exactly like those bucky fans who ship sambucky but dont care about sam. only thing is they do it on reverse.

i really hope that this doesn't push u away from sam and sambucky cause we would be so lucky to have you and your art in our fandom.

my only advice is to not care that much about what some ppl say. block them and engage with ppl who actually like the ship and both characters (or at least, ppl who likes one of them but still respect the other one)

And as i've stated countless times, I understand why they misinterpreted what I said. Fandom misunderstandings happened. But at a point I believe they genuinely care more about prolonging internet drama and discourse than actually combatting fandom racism or racism directed at Sam.

Because despite making my point clear multiple times and clarifying my point, they continued to take my words out of context and allow their friends to dogpile my words. Those are not people who care about making fandom safer for black people or black fans, those are people who enjoy discourse for the sake of discourse.

And i'm starting to realize they're a clique that seems to be known for doing that.

And believe me, I think Sam needs to be protected from racism. But I think there's a fine line between fighting against racism and making black people feel unsafe because you don't want to take the two seconds to engage with someone.

And they don't even like Bucky, so I doubt any reading of him, even if it is him comforting Sam, is going to be interpreted in good faith. It's on just nastiness all around lol.

Thank you for answering my ask Storm. I appreciate it. I am new to tumbler and have not read everything you have posted mainly focussed on the member dynamics in your masterlist. In your recent post you mentioned that the bullying had happened and that’s how I got to know. I believe in the same post or some posts after you said you were willing to engage in respectful discussions and after much diliberation I thought to myself, that it was ok to send that ask. And it was, coz you answered it so respectfully.

Even if I may not agree with you fully, I do see where you are coming from. Your blog is yours to moderate and that is that.

My gripe with this fandom is that a lot of fans do not allow for a difference of opinion which then just means that we are a cult. The boys are not perfect and it should be ok to call out some of the things they do if it is done in a respectful manner. It is really quite something for people to say that there is a need to police fans/solos or Jikook fans because look want happened to Taekookers. It is too late to make that call because now no fan would be able to take the Gandhian stance of looking the other way. History does define how the present is handled. Yes, it is negative approach but it is what it is.

In any fandom, big accounts have a moral responsibility to ensure that the same energy is given in calling out bullshit but a large number of the ot7 accounts are Taekookers so the same energy isn’t given and this is what has resulted in a whole lot of solo accounts who are unnecessarily hated on most of the time.

Having a difference of opinion and not allowing anti rhetoric on my blog is not the same thing. And saying "I have these criticisms of Tae and I think that's fair" is fine, but it also doesn't change that it's the same rhetoric that his antis use against him and it's not something I'm interested in entertaining. I truly couldn't care less if people agree with me or not. That's always been the case. Just as it's always been true that I've held that this space is mine and mine alone. Y'all are here only if you want to be lol. You can feel however you want to feel, that doesn't mean I'm entitled to have to do anything about it nor does it mean I have to hold space for it. Which I think is the problem that occurs when you hit over a certain number of followers. I'm not quite sure when that transition happened for me, but sometimes I miss how my blog used to be 2+ years ago 😅😂

I love Tae. I love him so much. I love his bond with the members. I think there are for sure things we can talk about critically there. Just as there are things I think we can talk about critically for each member and for the group as a whole. Do I think now is the time? Probably not with all that is happening with k media and the harassment happening.

Do I think any of those critiques involve their relationships with each other, including how Tae interacts with JK, no. I think their relationship and how it works best for them, is not something we get to interject on. Opinions about that stem from personal biases and often, also anger about antis and the desire to protect other members from said antis.

I also agree that a large number of "OT7" accounts on Twitter don't give the same proper energy to calling out bad behavior because they are taekookers or diet solos/shippers. But then we shouldn't be calling them OT7 accounts, right? I promise there are really good larger accounts out there that aren't full of bullshit. You just gotta use your block button freely. Because not giving fake ot7 a platform, is a good way to start. But it's hard when it seems like no one else cares. I promise I understand that. I understand the frustration and the pain that brings. As someone who deals with haters who feel protected behind an anon label, I feel like I extra understand it sometimes.

Fandom spaces are going to be what you make of them. All types fandom can be full of so much bullshit. You gotta carve out a corner in it that brings you happiness and peace and do what you can that way. Or you aren't going to have any fun. And that's what fandom should be, something that is fun and brings you joy.
