warning ahead for a character's suicide (not one of the boys) and general family neglect

their story starts out in Phoenix, Arizona with their mom and their dad, having lived there their entire lives until Jeanie hit twelve years old, and their father, well...

their dad kicked the bucket essentially, left himself in a pool of his own blood in the bathroom for his wife to find. Neither of the boys had much of a clue just how severe their father's health was since their mother was quite the shutter-downer to all of his problems, and with all those things piling up he basically just... gave up on it. and left behind his family.

AJ loves his father, but he heavily resents him for leaving them. because when they moved into Tulsa, he didn't think they'd also be losing their mom too. except, she didn't die, she just became... closed off.

Jeanie was too young to understand anything, throwing himself into a pool of self-disrespect and getting himself messed up with the wrong kind of people because he hoped it'd fill the hole of whatever relationship he never got to have properly with his dad — he never realized how little you really live with someone at 12 years old until he got up to 14 and hardly remembered just about anything.

or maybe it was the drugs he was around so much screwing up his memory. he couldn't tell, AJ knew he was getting around with the wrong guys. he told him off at about age 13 for Jeanie, one long night where he just about slammed his brother's head into a wall for coming home fucked up and blackout. their mother silently sitting in her room, in the back of the house. she was just as much of a corpse to AJ as their dad was.

either way, AJ cares really heavily for his brother. all they have is each other, and that stupid fucking dog that mom got as a house warming gift. (Donut wasn't stupid, they both loved that dog to bits.) and he bitches at Jeanie constantly for being worse than he is.

in general, AJ is actually the way more responsible sibling. he only smokes when he's stressed (which is often), and he hardly touches alcohol or anything further beyond tobacco. Jeanie is the complete opposite, taking whatever he could get until the night AJ bitched. now, he just carried onto it.

he keeps cigarettes and joints in his pockets as something to feel, just to hold in his mouth, just to chew on. something is better than nothing. unless someone lit the thing for him or opened it up and passed it, he wasn't doing it. it wasn't technically doing it, he was just accepting offers. (jeanie has terrible excuses)

AJ has to provide for all three of them, since Jeanie's still too young to get a job himself, and his mom won't work for shit, he's got two jobs and does all the busy work around the house. he's more of a father at age 17 than he ever hoped he ever would be. and for another adult too, at that. he hated it.

when it comes to interacting with the canon universe, they actually don't do too much — because they only come in post-canon ; they're greasers just as much as any other kid, they join in on rumbles and kick rocks at little ones just for the hoot. Jeanie tries to hang out with Ponyboy's highschool crew, but he's not exactly the best at fitting in with all of them. he doesn't exactly really like Ponyboy either—he just thinks he's cool. tuff shit. what he wants to be too.

Jeanie will do all he can just to show off he's cool like the other kids — he'll pull out stolen goods like booze and cigarettes and jewels to people like Mitchie and be like "ain't it sweet?" — even if he isn't REALLY proud of himself for doing it. he just likes the attention it gets him.

AJ works at the DX part time for one of his jobs, and occasionally gets himself circled with the older kids in the curtis gang. he's not social, but if someone asks him if he wants to go somewhere, he'll happily oblige. anything to be away from home, for him. even if he does panic a whole lot about leaving jeanie by himself, he knows the kid has got it through to play it smart finally.

if he gets the chance though and everyone's buzzing around, AJ'll drag Jeanie around too. making him stick at the "kiddie table" with pb & mitchie just for the hell of it (real awkward conversation from all three of them i imagine 💀) while AJ kicks around with steve & soda most frequently, just since he knows them best

to shrink it down, jeanie's gone rotten because he feels like he needs to do all he can to fit into the world again after being ripped out of it — yearning for the attention he never got enough out of either of his parents

and aj's just grieving — for his life, for his dad and mom, for his brother's innocent youth — and he's not exactly the happiest, but he manages with what he can

As per usual, these pertain to the CHARACTERS not the PEOPLE

Everyone got so used to just speaking their mind in the basement that there’s a good chance they blurt smth out during meetings without thinking

Jean mentioning an alternate idea when she was ment to just be bringing tea without thinking, Hester mumbling something under her breath about how childish the bickering currently happening is, Charles dropping an absolutely absurd-yet-possible concept as if it’s the most normal solution ever- it’s all happened and Monty - the only person who already did that before the mission - could not be more proud

He has pleaded with Bevan (and others) not to punish them for it plenty a time because, quote, “we’ve all been working in an environment where that kind of idea bouncing is what made Mincemeat a success for months, Johnny! That’s not something you just stop doing on a dime!”

It’s somehow worked.

Someone calls Team Mincemeat “Bevan’s favorites” to his face under the reasoning that they seem to always get away with stuff. Bevan does not take this kindly

Suddenly Monty’s getting a lecture on proper meeting etiquette and how blurting out ideas, no matter how good or solid a point they may be, in the middle of a meeting is not okay. Monty laughs through this lecture

Monty’s not necessarily hotheaded, he can take a lot, but he will not take kindly to the insulting of work and - by extension (and his own heart) - his team

Think his argument with Bevan in Making a Man. I know I’ve talked about this before but really, he was fine up until Bevan insulted the plan and the team working on it. Then suddenly Monty’s rolling up his sleeves. Yeah that? That carries post mission

Yeah sure, Mincemeat was freaking bonkers, but it worked damnit. You don’t get to call a plan that worked “harebrained,” especially when you didn’t work on it. I wouldn’t suggest insulting the team either, lest you risk having your head bit off

Monty has taken Jean for drinks a NUMBER of times as an apology for his, as she’s taken to calling it, “accidental misogyny.”

Hester has joined them before

Of all the members of the team, Charles is most likely to be invited by Jean to join the typing pool girls out dancing. He’s like that one guy friend in the group of girls who’s just there for a good time

Hester isn’t the choice because she’s their work mom and boss, and Monty is….not exactly the type you bring on girls night

But Charles is kind, never talks down to them, and is always willing to listen to them if they have an idea for something (he knows what it’s like to be ignored). It really shouldn’t have come as a shock when Jean cornered him one day claiming her and the typing pool girls were going dancing and they wanted to know if he wanted to join

Jean’s stayed over at Charles’ before. Nothing romantic, she was just complaining about her mother being on her ass about one thing or another and Charles offhandedly offered her a place to stay for the night. He grew up with sisters after all, surely no part of her nightly routine could shock him

Give me more Jean and Charles having a sibling relationship PLEASE

Team Mince will kinda clump at company outings. Yes, Jean will stick by the typing pool girls. Yes, Hester is either with them as well or with Bevan. Yes, Monty can talk with anyone. But the moment they sense/see one of the others in a less than ideal situation? (Ex: hiding behind a pot, being harassed by another employee, being belittled by another employee, etc) The clump. It’s like a magnet almost.

Oh, some asshole wouldn’t leave Jean and the girls alone? Suddenly Hester is staring them down while Monty and Charles strike up conversations about the girls’ latest projects

Charlie being harassed because that’s what happens when your nickname is “Bug Boy”? Monty’s now loudly recalling how Charlie first pitched Mincemeat to him and so kindly offered partnership while Jean and Hester nod along approvingly

Monty and Hester are less-often the harassed party, but it has happened and Jean and Charles never fail to pull through

Monty makes fun of Charles’ bad eyesight (in the way good friends always make fun of each other). In return, Charles is always asking Monty if it’s hard not being able to reach the top shelf

Monty got Charles another mug with his face on it for Christmas. Charles returned the favor the next year

Jean has compared the team to the gang from the Wizard of Oz and will continue to do so until she dies or the prove her wrong

For reference: Monty - Scarecrow, Hester - Tin Man, Charlie - Cowardly Lion

All three proceeded to give her shit for it (“do you really think I’m brainless/heartless/a coward?”)

Countless long nights in the basement have given them the ability to silently communicate. It’s both super sweet and super terrifying

It’s sweet because if any member of the team needs anything (tea, to talk, a hug) the others are immediately able to pick up on it and won’t hesitate to help

It’s scary because sometimes they’ll just start laughing seemingly without rhyme or reason and no one can ever tell what or who it is they’re laughing at

Hester, the responsible one of the group, has found the other three sleeping in various positions in the basement. These include but aren’t limited to: sprawled out on the floor like a starfish (Monty), curled up as tightly as possible (Charles), against the desk (Monty), slumped in the corner (Jean and Monty), head in their arms at the desk (all), on the desk (Monty), under the desk (Monty), slumped backwards in their chair (Charles), behind the chalkboard as if it would hide them (Jean), and more.

Hester refuses to mention the time they caught her also asleep at the desk. It didn’t happen

“Charlie, I’ve got a brilliant idea-“ is a surefire way to get every head in the basement to turn and a chorus of “NO”s to ring out

Monty calls Bull because he’s had some GREAT ideas thank you

The team have found themselves having multiple inside jokes, a number of them involving non-team members and the dumb shit they’ve said around them

Sure, Monty was an Eton boy himself, but the constant quoting of the mottos is just too funny not to make jokes about. Even he’s not that bad (oh but he was)

I also think it would be funny if they somehow started doing the “Major ___/General ___/Private ___/Corporal ___” bit from How I Met Your Mother. Don’t ask me how it happened, I just think it would be funny if while in the canteen one day someone shouted smth about “that being general knowledge!” And Monty, Charles, and Jean in perfect sync doing a little mock salute and muttering “General Knowledge” under their breaths

Monty likes to think he could pick up Charlie. He cannot.

Charlie can pick up every member of Team Mince, be it with a little bit of struggle on occasion

Hester is very thankful for the team’s understanding and liking for figurative language, considering Bevan’s distaste for it

“Let’s fix up the MI5 garden!” Said the team, momentarily forgetting Charles’ distaste for bees

Cut to everyone digging in the mulch while Charles goes running past screaming in the background

Charles doesn’t like bees, but the bees love Charles

The team became irreversibly closer after the first time they huddled together in that basement under their single flimsy desk as the bombs rained down overhead. Something changed that night

Charles and Hester give the best hugs of the group. Firm, but not the “I’m going to squeeze all the air out of your lungs” strength that Monty and Jean’s exhibit

Everyone has cried in the basement at least once. Believe it or not, everyone’s seen everyone cry at least once (be it during or post mission)

Okay I think that’s it for tonight. Hope this makes up for my lack of anything these past few days lol

hi guys! im back. i went tokyo for a few days. got back at 7 this morning after taking an overnight 7 hour bus ride.... that i did not sleep on bc i cant sleep in moving vehicles. this will be something closer to a proper blog post i guess. splatoon related convention? experience below

i've kept my mouth shut about my plans to go because its not as well known on the english side of the fanbase and i didnt wanna make people too jealous sorry LOL , but i went to splaket 22! it's an unofficial, splatoon-only doujinshi market/artists alley. this was my first convention-sort-of event ive been to since i was... in high school. i also dont really get to meet many other hardcore splatoon fans irl. i was nervous about it because i don't know a whole lot of people on the JP side nor do i have a lot of confidence in my japanese speaking/listening, but in the end it was SUPER fun. i wish i couldve talked a bit more to the artists i did encounter to comment on what i liked about their works but. Skill Issue very few non-japanese people at this event of course but one of the only english speakers i saw i called out to bc they were wearing a shirt with this exact image printed on it no video and no photos outside of designated areas were allowed so i got like. zero pics of my own. but there was a lot of cosplayers i saw! oh and here's the Loot Haul. a few doujin, a clear file, stickers, microfiber cloth and a keychain. im surprised at how little i got, i think i shouldve gone a bit crazier with it

the one with Tao Blu and oonie in the top left (by sachikazerick) I came across by chance and bought because it was cute, featured splatband characters, and also because it all in some familiar inkling language (the last point of which i told the artist as i was buying) when i finally got home and saw the back credits...

SMALL FUCKIN WORLD LOL (i tweeted at the artist afterwards to let him know i came by the table and to thank him for using me and my friend's inkling language fonts!) though truly, i think ardnin deserved the credit more rather than me since he made most of those fonts! ah well, still cool to see more and more fan works using deciphered inkling language. top middle book is a story with some salmonid characters that i havent read yet but im looking forward to it, the art is lovely. top right one was the first thing i bought. the artist is rk_splaworks, whose art i love, and we've been mutuals for a few years and have talked a bit here and there! i was so fucking nervous to meet them in person since my japanese sucks LMAO but they were happy to meet me too and we got a selfie together yippy <3 also havent read their doujin Yet since ill have to rub all my brain cells together and huddle over the dictionary, but i want their oc lore

ok that's all i'll say, next splaket is...june 22. very soon....im already thinking ill. go again. yknow. while im still in japan and all that. i guess ill have to study harder on my jp in the meantime teehee ...i doubt it, but in the off chance anyone following me is going to the next splaket in june lemme know!

Hey guys, sorry it's been a while since I did a proper challenge update! I don't really see the use of doing a to-done list when I already have a to-do list I cross things off of. But my finals are now over and I can finally rest! I know I haven't been very consistent about posting, but thank you all for the support during my worst moments this semester, especially @academicfever and @lazar-codes for your encouraging comments and @zzzzzestforlife for knocking sense into me when I'm going insane 😅🥺💗

And, um, I also kind of have a big-ish life update...

I've decided to not transfer to health sciences anymore (which means i get to return to a lighter course load and catch up on the rest of my life woohoo), and I also won't jump straight into grad school after life sciences. There's a bunch of reasons for it. Most of them are just practical, from finances to "I just don't feel like I understand enough about how the real world (outside of formal education) works" and since the only way to learn is to live (that's another quote from the midnight library hehe), I've decided to do just that. And so if I ever do grad school (which I, right now, still hope is in future me's cards...if I can by that point actually, finally exercise the agency to do it and my surrounding life circumstances and my mental/emotional state make more sense), I will be doing it as a mature/non-traditional student a couple years down the line. The idea that you should have done xyz by certain ages is just...not very useful at some point. In a way, it's useful for planning ahead, but ultimately, it's completely arbitrary. It's something I've been slowly coming to terms with this year and will no doubt have to come to terms with again and again throughout my life.

In the meantime, I'll still be moving forward, just not in the way I expected, and it doesn't mean I'm falling behind while my peers go on to complete various higher degrees straight out of undergrad. It's going to be okay. I will make the most out of every opportunity I have so that I still end up with the fulfilling life I seek.

Hello avians (and thorns)!

First art post as promised, and for those who came from janitor, I have been entertaining a fandom of a VA called Artemis Thorn in the meantime of writing for you. So, if you'd like to check him out for yourself, look him up on TikTok. Mind you, he posts 18+ content, so please do NOT flood his page unless you are of age! But other than that, definitely worth checking out if you're into book narration and spice lol

This comic is the first one that I sent to Artemis, I believe like a month ago? Time flies, so I'm not sure. I've gotten better at drawing my design of Art by now, because this was kind of a dip in uncharted waters for me. But anyway, I'll be posting more of them in the future, as well as some chibi little stories that I've made for Art, just for shits and giggles. So, stay tuned!

To explain the design choices, the scar is a way to show it's Artemis. It's shaped as 'A' when the eye is closed, since I didn't find a proper place to put a tattoo of his logo anywhere on him as he requested. I didn't anticipate making more of these comics, or any art other than this one, but lord help me I've been drawing this design ever since I first came up with it. So I decided to run with it, I might add or take some things, like the piercings. They ARE there (trust) in every art I make for him, BUT unfortunately I am very forgetful and may or may not have forgotten this design choice... Just know that he canonically has these piercings in my design lol!

About janitor content, I am planning to write the Hades story, you don't have to worry about that. Things have been a bit rough with health on my end since the start of the year, so it's a little harder than it used to, but I'll be doing my best to deliver. I've gotten PLENTY requests of what you'd like to see, and I WILL be considering it, but keep in mind I am but one person behind a phone screen tapping away on a keyboard.

i have a bit of a long answer to this, so i hope you don’t mind me replying as a post, just in case anyone else is curious

the tl;dr is: i'm planning to write a fic for this AU, but i'm happy to read your fic as well with proper credit

first thing is: i’m overjoyed by the positive response to this little AU! it’s definitely been occupying my mind as i’ve been studying (Eclipse is notably the most distracting) so i’m glad there’s an interest in such a simple premise—i was honestly hesitant to call it an AU at first by how simple an idea it is

that being said, i’ve been hinting at it a bit in some of my tags, but i am planning to write a fic for this AU it’s still in the planning and drabble stage, but there is definitely a story that i’m hoping to share. unfortunately, i am currently attempting to speedrun a 2 year program, so my time is short—and my leisure time is split between my other competing ideas and inhaling other people’s creative works to revive me after my daily readings

i will say that the AU has evolved quite a bit since my initial drawings—new designs, more background info, and a healthy dose of lore and trauma for the entire main cast—so there’s a lot i’m excited to share with you all

THAT BEING SAID, i am always eager to encourage other people’s creativity and i am so honoured that my little doodles can inspire people to be creative. so i would absolutely love to see your fic, i just ask that you:

it’s a slice of life story about how we respond to change, dusting ourselves off and moving forward, while carrying the baggage and fragile trinkets that define us

will likely default to a T rating, but will bump up to M for heavier topics

it will definitely be more than 5 chapters long. i don’t have an estimate on how long the fic will be. it's nothing too grand but i do know it will need quite a bit of time in order to properly explore all 3 of the boys and Y/N

there will be a Y/N, and Y/N has some lore, but other than some key backstory and key areas of development, i try to keep them gender neutral and as ambiguous as possible

i’ll be sharing the updated designs and some drabbles here when i have time—as soon as i can! (a little sneak peak is actually scheduled to post sometime today!)

i’ll also admit that this is my first time planning to write such a big fic and the first time i’m considering sharing it with other fans! my writing muse is very shy, so please be patient with me

Ah hello there! Long time no see, well, hear I suppose! Just so you know, there’s no reason for you to apologize buddy! If anything it’s my fault for not reaching out again since last time. I noticed that your sister regained her access to the account and was planning a little bit of a rebellion over in the baronies, commendable work honestly! I can only imagine how stressful that must be on you though, make sure to take care of yourself in the meantime. I mean that. It’s times like these that you really need to take a moment and spend it with those you love. You might not get the chance to later, although I sure hope that’s not the case!

U-XVII really is quite a cold place, just yesterday it was about -57 degrees! Although it can be dangerous on the surface because of that bitter cold, the wind will make it much much worse. Most of the time we camp out in natural caves or build igloos with our mechs to help block it. The real secret to surviving out here though is heated gear. Just about every inch of my hardsuit is fitted with a heater, without it I would surely lose a finger or two to frostbite! Honestly though, you do get used to living out in these conditions, and it’s well worth the struggle to see the planet’s true beauty! Enough rambling though, now let’s get to the fun stuff.

So, before we talk anything about the current condition of the tape I want to confirm that you did in fact do your research before beginning restoration work. I trust you did, after all you seem rather well informed, and understand you are a historian of sorts, so the importance of this object isn’t lost on you. One thing I will recommend is that you make sure to keep it away from anything magnetic, or really electronics in general. Without proper protection from those devices it could threaten erasing the data on it. That being said, I am so absolutely jealous that I can’t be there to help restore it! I can just imagine how exciting it will be to listen to the first time! I wonder what songs are on it? Did it have a label? Oooh actually I’m not sure I want to know, it’ll be such a fun surprise! If you haven't seen it, the last chapter of "Tried to tell you" is up! The story of how Jess and Lupe got together in this little Modern AU universe of mine has officially been told - I knew it was gonna be messy but boy to what heights it rose!! As I say in the end notes, this is not the end of this universe though. Expect some fluffy one-shots in the slice of life collection "You're so good to me I know" that will fill the gap between them getting together and their future self you see in "You know you wouldn't want it any other way".

This is important because the next plan is to tell another story a few years after their marriage, so 10 years after the ending of TTTY. You know me, I can't resist some angst, I still feel like J and L have a lot of growing up to do in this universe, many issues got swept under the rug or crossed over without proper processing and care, so since I care about them I wish to see them do more healing.

Of course it will mean some messiness first, some trauma resurfacing causing problems in their marriage + parenting a growing teenager. The happy ending is always promised though, don't worry!

As a sneak peek, the song I feel in my heart as expressing the core angstyness I will be writing about (just like Winterbreak by MUNA was for TTTY), is Maybe I am by Fletcher (from Lupe POV).

Been thinking of doing a 5+1 fic about the Lamb worshipping Bishops of the Old Faith, since there are, conveniently enough, five of them.

At the very least I did an entry for Leshy.

Chapter 1: He of Havoc

For the briefest time after hearing the proclamation, you feel betrayed. How could your Lord order such a thing?

To demand the deaths of lambs unaffiliated with the Old Faith, sure. That was only proper, since they did not give fealty that the Lord of Chaos deserved and, thus, were like an underbrush to be burned away, creating rich soil where a verdant garden could grow, and the decimated remains could battle for dominance—like weeds against camellias. Even the lambs in the cults of His siblings you could understand—for what better way to sow some much-needed chaos and familial drama to shake things up a bit than to target a specific species of followers, for seemingly no reason?

But all lambs? Even the most devoted among His own flocks, who would never dare to turn on Him in service to another, inferior god? You could not fathom such a thing.

…At least, not until you saw true chaos with your own eyes. Friends and family turning against each other as resources and hiding places grew scarce. Paranoia at every sound and looming shadow. The growing fear and confusion, not knowing where to run next, or where to hide, or what would become of the friends who didn’t turn on you when winter came, and there was no more wool with which to knit warm mittens and sweaters for that extra layer of protection against freezing to death.

Only then did you understand: your beloved Master was playing the long game. Chaos untold, as the links in the chain collapsed and there was a scramble to see who or what could fill the empty niche. The unknown effects far, far down the line as sacred knowledge was lost to time, right when it was needed the most.

And, above all else, the chaos and bloodshed that could only occur when god battled god for dominance, and the entire structure of society was upended to make way for the new.

That it took so long—one or two days after the proclamation, when you witnessed your cousin misjudge the distance of a leap in his bid for safety from the blade of his former best friend, only to land on the ill-maintained, thatched roof of a storage shed and inadvertently start a massive fire that ate through multiple buildings when he took out a lantern on his way down—was just proof of why you had only made it to the lowest rung of acolyte status before the kill order was given out.

You wept at your inadequacy, your lack of faith, and vowed to do better. To be truly devoted. To see your Master’s plan to their end, and receive your just reward—whatever form that might be.

You were tested—oh, yes, you were tested. Pushed to your ultimate limits as you fled, playing the long game yourself and surviving as long as possible to sow maximum chaos in the chase. To sow maximum panic and fear among the inferior believers of the other three remaining Bishops of the Old Faith.

And your hard work and devotion paid off gloriously as you stood, bound in chains before your god, the ultimate sacrifice. Last of your kind, destined to free Death itself and bring forth a new, glorious era of chaos to the world as the very laws of reality itself became upended.

You heard your god speak words meant for you, and you alone, not once, not twice, not even thrice, but five whole times!

You witnessed such glorious devotion of your fellows as they, too, gave their lives in sacrifice to secure Him even more power—and then feeling such power firsthand as He struck against you again and again, killing you by His own jaws!

You tasted His very essence when you rent His heart asunder between your jaws once you finally bested Him in battle and had to honor of seeing Him off to the new chaos Death had become!

Your devotion was ever pure, your duty clear, when you fulfilled the prophecy… only to then turn its intentions on its head, in true chaotic fashion, by freeing the One Who Waits wholly from his role and ripping apart the very institution of the pantheons of Faiths even older than the Old one. The birth of beautiful chaos ever-present in the new—new rules, new states of reality, new opportunities for a new god to explore.

Then… oh, the most divine of glories! The chance to offer a forest of new chaotic potentials with the resurrection of your Lord—the chaos that comes with mortal life. With losing control of the future. The surprises—both good and bad—which sneak around the bend so easily. Hunger, sickness, thirst… and the ever-changing journey to overcome such states.

And, best of all, the drop in your stomach and the dizzy giddiness that comes with falling in love… and the rumbling purrs that come along with it, if that love happens to be feline in nature—a pleasant surprise, and further proof of why you were right to worship this god, since He has such good taste in partners.

Gratitude and devotion unending to He of Havoc, that you were allowed such honors.

eps. 1-14 -> heisei generations final -> eps. 16-19 -> birth! kuma-televi!! vs. kr grease hyper battle dvd -> eps. 20-21 --> raising the hazard level with 7 best matches special & rogue miniseries -> eps. 22-41 -> kr prime rogue hyper battle dvd -> eps. 42-45 -> be the one movie -> eps. 46-49 -> final stage stageplay (though this was technically set during the actual finale, as you've seen) -> eps. 1-2 and eps. 1.5-2.5 of the succeeding season zi-o (since zi-o is basically an anniversary season celebrating 20 kr shows since 2000, thus basically being a giant crossover show like its spiritual predecessor decade and primarily consisting of arcs of like 2-3 episodes paying tribute to a certain season (sometimes actually featuring one or more actors from that season - not necessarily the actor for the mc though - and sometimes not if there are scheduling conflicts, etc.), and so is the 20th and final heisei kr show before zero-one marked the start of reiwa, though the timeline shenanigans here are so wonky and weird that you don't really have to consider these eps. canon if you want)

-> heisei generations forever (officially non-canon to the main timelines of both build and zi-o, though still a good enough homage to build's main story with a decent amount of ryusen) -> build new world: kr cross-z -> i heard the idol otaku is dating his fav special (basically just kazumi/misora nonsense from what i've heard, unfortunately) -> build new world: kr grease (i saw that you weren't keen on both new world movies as most build fans i know also weren't esp. bc of the het shenanigans (+ the weird evolt stuff that i've heard kinda feels like it's invalidating we already saw/learned in the main show, and it feels more like they just brought him back because they were milking his sheer popularity as a kr villain) that are apparently pretty typical of v-cine movies when compared to heavier gay coding in the main shows, sadly, so you can also take a page out of those other fans' book and not consider the nw movies canon or only cherrypicking the elements you like, but wrt the banjou stuff in cross-z specifically, i don't think him and yui are meant to be an unambiguously canon couple the way kazumi/misora and gentoku/sawa became in grease, as you can see a clear difference in how romantic both latter couples acted (even if i don't like both lmao, though i tolerate gentoku/sawa more than i do kazumi/misora simply bc i think g/s has funnier scenes than k/m, even with gentoku's unnecessary sexual proposition towards sawa in ep. 1 back when he was evil) vs. b/y, and also just the way banjou treated kasumi, his only 100% clearly canon girlfriend, vs. how he treated yui up to the end of the movie, and the girlfriend/date/best match comments in the movies seem to feel more like just jokes/trolling in hindsight (esp. since the b/y "date" at the end was literally just them selling stuff *sento* made, like something something sento is always somehow involved with banjou and his girlfriends, or 'girlfriend' in yui's case, so... lol. anyway), and also banjou appears to blatantly check out a shirtless killbas before they find out about him being the villain so ig the bi-coding was technically still going strong, plus the fact that yui just straight up disappears in grease which is supposed to be a direct sequel to cross-z and just isn't mentioned in any way (on which i have some bts info to spill btw, more on that in my next message) while sento and banjou continue to act like partners as usual, and in fact get paired up in a way that sets them alongside the pairing up of k/m and g/s in the same movie - so tl;dr: aside from the fact that we can just straight up ignore those movies, i don't think we have to worry about the yui stuff as a genuine invalidation of ryusen's romantic subtext-that's-practically-text, though it's still unfortunate they tried to pull this shit in the first place even if ultimately very half-assed and halfhearted, and you just kinda have to laugh at the audacity of doing all that *after* banjou made his little speech about sento being his hero, like you said)

-> kr jeanne and kr aguilera with girls remix (a revice spin-off included here on a technicality bc of sawa's presence, along with female characters from a few other kr seasons both in the heisei and reiwa eras alongside the titular female riders who i think i've told you before are the first major example of a lesbian-coded pairing in kr, though iirc they sadly also get hit with some plausible-deniability "they're like family/sisters" comments here though not really in the main show) -> kr outsiders (basically fanservice cash-grab slop from what i've been told that essentially is a suicide squad-esque project where various villains/evil riders from different seasons are assembled to battle a bigger bad guy, and evolt and misora are there in like a couple of episodes so 😔) [4/?]

as for the stuff ive watched, i finished the main eps first and then went for basically everything i could find that i knew had the build charas/story involved, so the only stuff from everything u mentioned that im missing are the 4 eps from zi-o, the revice spinoff, outsiders and the stageshows. i was thinking of leaving the crossover movies for later at first but then i also didnt wanna wait for if/when i watch ex-aid or zi-o so i just went for them (esp since u mentioned banjou chara development for one of them which i was Rlly curious about) and i enjoyed both, non-canon as they might be akfjdksf.. i think ill check out those zi-o eps but i probs wont watch the whole show (yet at least)

but yeah it rlly was a rollercoaster holy shit that entire final arc in the show was fucked up and evil?? in the best way possible??? i was crying literally the entire last three eps help ... the silly little rabbit w a death wish was too real...... i def saw what u meant by the end bit being weaker but honestly it didnt feel too bad to me, it probably wouldve been better executed if they had more eps to work w (which ik are strictly consistent for every season) + those actors that werent able to film, but i feel like for what they had to work with they did a rlly good job bc i was still hooked and Invested(tm)

also the rogue spinoff like i went in already liking gentokus chara a Lot after seeing the whole story so i was biased but i think they showed his desperation and spiral into insanity (? if it makes sense) rlly well there, it was def a lot more brutal but somehow i ended up liking the fight scenes in there more than the main story ones maybe bc they didnt have much of the cgi? either way it was a good insight into gentokus past/chara (and a little bit of takumis too who i always like seeing) and now i can Genuinely put him in the 'poor little meow meow who killed people' box so yay :) my silly shirt man i care him :)

then theres the new world movies which.....sigh......... Yeah............ those sure were movies ......... the comphet honestly didnt even bother me that much bc im so used to ignoring when writers pull shit like that (tho the whole banjou/yui thing did give me a fic idea in a way that i started outlining afkjdksgj) but the way they just undid the entire logic of the new world with the point of it being that its entire existence is only possible w evolt and the pandora box no longer existing is just. Okay so I'm back

It's been a couple of years since I've decided to actually use Tumblr for any other reason than to look at aesthetic stoners making pretty bowls with their crystal bongs or whatever.

The truth is, I'm once again in a pretty dark place in my life because I just had a 5-year relationship end pretty terribly, and not even of my own fault (objectively!!!). This is pretty much the only place I can talk about it because my ex would see the reactions and emotions I post on other social media and he would, for whatever reason, retaliate by blocking/unfollowing/whatever and just generally punishing me for being open about how I feel.

I'm not good. I feel so beat up and I even just got a new job that I really can't fuck up because it'll spell out the rest of my career for me. I really don't know why, but I really just crave some sort of apology or show of remorse from my ex.

For context, we broke up because... at this point, IDK. My ex said it was because at the time, I had no job and he was tired of opening his wallet for me for dates. Fine, that's totally valid. He wouldn't give me a chance, and I couldn't get a say. Bad. But the thing is, we never talked about this in person. He broke up with me via chat. It's one of the things that I quickly learned I shouldn't take lightly and I have to demand a proper breakup from him, especially since the circumstances weren't even that drastic. He refused, and kept avoiding me. He was kinda scathing to talk to when I could, always bringing up the reason for us breaking up. When I bring up that I no longer care why he broke up with me (since we're no longer together) and that I care more about the way he treats me post-breakup (since we have 5 years of experiences, many of which are good), he freezes and it's so obvious he feels some sort of guilt and he didn't think that far ahead. I just wish I was smarter in taking advantage of that.

It's been almost a month since it happened. At first, I didn't even know we broke up, because he didn't say anything. I had to go look at his twitter bio and see that he removed me without even telling me or warning me, and that's when it actually happened.

I just don't really know how to move forward, since this whole thing was pretty much forced upon me. I get that I have the option to accept it, but the way it happened is obviously gonna affect the way I feel and do things. I didn't get a proper breakup, of course I'm gonna feel some rage. I didn't get closure, so I'm gonna be constantly confused. I didn't even get to say goodbye, so it's gonna take a long while to realize that we're really no longer together, and that any form of reconciling isn't on the table.

I'm just in disbelief that a person can be that callous. How in the world can you leave somebody behind so hurt and confused? He always said he was hurt too, and stressed or whatever. I never really knew what to do with that information, because being hurt and confused doesn't make you immune to responsibility.

I don't even know where to begin when I tell people what happened. I know it's kind of selfish, but I really want someone to have my back when I tell them how much I've been hurt. He had his immature friends bully me during the breakup. It's wild, but I kinda wish I didn't have "mature" friends who think it's best if I just let them be and move on. I guess I'm looking for justice for myself, when no one else would.

If for any reason you Tumblr lovelies are still reading this, be assured that I'm fine, and don't have any plans on offing myself any time soon. I mean, I guess I did two weeks ago, but I was quickly reminded of what a terrible idea that is. I'm trying my best to cope and keep busy, despite my situation being stuck at home for the meantime. I might use Tumblr more often as a sort of journal/diary. The more I talk to my friends, the more I realize they just listen and don't do anything else, so if it's any consolation, I'll just use Tumblr to let ALL my thoughts out, no matter how negative.

Anyway, I'm queer and disabled, but neither of those are recognised by my family and society really

I was kicked out of my family house because my mother just found me annoying, thought of me as a liar, and generally said I was doing nothing of my life out of my own volition. (I was in fact, and it is still going, burnt out in the most neurodivergent way possible)

So like, I found a non permanent housing, got myself trained for a highly sought after job that isn't actually boring, and am currently searching for a job so I can pretend to a more permanent home that I can pay the rent of

In the meantime, she's regularly called me to help her out on stuff, which I just agreed to despite my friends saying not to, as I didn't owe her anything anymore; and despite my anger at her for not being a proper parent and actually listen to me when I have a say on a subject that directly concerns me

Anyway, I learnt during the week that my parents were coming to my city to eat at a restaurant. They hadn't told me or invited me and honestly that's fine to me! I recently got extremely upset at my mother for calling me names to people who are genuinely just trying to help me out of the mess she put me in.

Then, they apparently invited my grandpa to the restaurant, and said grandpa apparently thought it was a good idea to invite me... To the same restaurant, at the same table as my parents, on the same day and hour.

I won't refuse an invite from gramps really. He's far from the best, and he did pull out the same thing to me as my mother did once, while I was actually working on a summer job; but to my knowledge, he hasn't called me names, and I'm not currently upset at him.

I did warn him that the lunch might be very tense, because I fought with my mother earlier in the week and basically said no to me keeping her old dog (who I love) so she could go on vacation, because she called me names.

So, people, if you were kicked out of your family house for bullshit reasons, and your parents suddenly start asking you for services cause you're not so far away from them; but you don't wanna because they fucked your life over:

Don't help them.

They don't deserve your time anymore and contrary to you who's still figuring it out, they can take care of themselves/they are being taken care of as they've been doing for the past at least 20/25 years

You do not owe them anything, and you are allowed to give up on them the same as they gave up on you.

I plan on never, ever accepting to help her out anymore, honestly. I don't mind my father asking for help as much, but her? She's given up on me, despite me being her child. I can do the same.

Danny had sent an anonymous message to the watchtower to ask for a meeting in a few minutes, Supes was the one on watch duty that day, so he sent out a message to the rest of the JL, then makes his way to the meeting room. Flash and Hal-GL get there pretty quick, but most of the others were preoccupied and needed to finish up what they're doing first. I'll say this is post Conner by a pretty decent margin, but not quite enough time for Clark to have fully accepted his existence, but has mostly gone from "you're an evil clone" to "you're a naive child, but I'm salty you exist".

Mans also hasn't quite had a proper conversation with any of the Robins before they're like, 17-18? And views them as an extreme exception to his ideal of, "kids are stupid and naive and don't know anything about politics and saving the world or dificult subjects of any kind"

And due to his preconceived notions of how the world works, he is expecting some prim and proper diplomat. Barry and Hal, on one hand, yeah, they expect a diplomat of some kind, but on the other hand, Hal's seen a lot of weird situations in his time with the Corps, and Barry got chased around by some weird time traveling kid a while ago yelling at him to do his time travel taxes that are apparently a thing, so they're keeping an open mind.

They all got to the meeting room that was specified in the message, and yeah, they're kind of on edge that an unknown knows enough about the watchtower to specify a meeting room, but Bats said to try and stay calm and assess the threat level if the unknown gets there before everyone else has a chance to arive. The three of them are sitting wondering how this mystery person is planning on arriving when a bright green portal rips open. Flash immediately recognizes Tax Evasion Kid, and calms down. Hal, seeing this seemingly child is clearly not human, also lets things be. But Clark has never seen this kid before, and thinks some kind of prank is being pulled. "Who are you and how did you get into this secure base?"

"Right sorry, Introductions are in order, but I beleive we should wait for the rest of your colleagues before I fully explain. But in the meantime I'll explain that I am Phantom, official title: Ghost king."

Barry and Hal take this new information in stride, Barry had experience with this kid and his weirdness, so it wasn't too huge a stretch for him to be an actual official. And again, Hal had seen enough odd situations non-fitting of Human standards, that this didn't phase him too much. Phantom had said he was the Ghost King, maybe he was actually much older than his appearance implied, who was Hal to say.

Clark however, was getting annoyed, he'd pinched the bridge of his nose, and took a deep breath. "Look kid, the Justice League don't have time for your silly fantasies of grandure-"

"Woah Supes I don't think-" Superman held up a hand to stop Green Lantern, and continued on his 'lecture'.

"-Clearly, you have some form of teleportation power, and that's how you found the Watchtower, and you wanted to play at saving the world, but sorry to burst your bubble kid but-"

"Hey Superman, I really think you should -" while Flash got a few more words in than Hal had, he was stopped by a quick but harsh glare from the man in blue.

"-as I said the Justice League has more important things to do than feed into a kid's fantasy."

The room stood still and cold, an unimpressed look on Phantom's face. "While I can understand your concerns Superman, I assure you this isn't some... how did you put it? 'Delusion of Grandure'," the white haired boy(man?) Used air quotes around the phrase, "As I already stated, I am Phantom, the Ghost King, and I've requested a meeting with the Justice League to discuss the mistreatment of my peoples by the American government under pretense of ghosts being 'non-sentient posthumous imprints of emotion'."

Now Superman looked unimpressed. "Right, Ghosts, sure. Really Kid, you should have picked a better fantasy, and all of the Justice League has already met a ghost, and he requires several layers of spells and magics to allow him to be visible and understood by living beings. So nice try, but I'm going to be calling this meeting off as clearly it isn't actually any kind of emergency."

At this point Martian Manhunter and Aquaman had entered the room. Though the prior occupents were too distracted by Superman's rant to notice.

A faint feeling of static began to fill the room as Phantom became more and more irritated. "Yes, I've heard of your Justice League Dark's ghost member 'Deadman', and will say he's a much different type of ghost to me, while he is based and formed in magics, I am-"

Superman let out an exasperated sigh and cut Phantom off. "Kid, it's pretty obvious you're really trying to seel your bit here, but as I said and you clearly know. The Justice League is already aware of how ghosts work, so I'm not sure what you thought to accomplish here."

At this point Batman, Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel had all made their way to the meeting room, and felt as the static that Superman seemed to not be noticing rose in intensity. "I get your concerns I really do but if you would let me explain-"

"No, kid, clearly you don't respect the Justice League or it's time, and I'm going to have to ask you to leave, but if you insist on this stupid delusion of yours, please, enlighten me. How is it you supposedly died that's led you to being able to appear to us without the spells we have been told are required to make a ghost visible? And honestly, making up a title for yourself like The Ghost King? Increadibly immature."

The room dropped in temperature by at least 15 degrees, and the rest of the Justice League stood in abject shock at Superman's rudeness. Said man still not noticing any changes in the environment even though the static got strong enough to cause some member's ears to pop.

"... Excuse me?" Phantom looked at the man in blue with incredulity, the static in the environment reflecting in his voice.

Superman simply raised a brow as if to say 'go on. Let's hear whatever stupid story you'll spin up next.'

Phantom pursed his lips and sent the boyscout a glare that could have killed someone less willingly oblivious. Then, in a spike of static, ripped open another bright green tear and disappeared.

Clark, unaware of the deep sense of dread that had overtaken several of his colleagues, rolled his eyes and stood, finally noticing the room's newere occupants. "Ah, sorry about that everyone, as you could see, the meeting seems to have been a false alarm, but I've dealt with it-"

"Superman, you'll speak to me in the hall, in the mean time, Marvel, Diana, could you please try and figure out how to reach out to our guest and ask him back?"

Superman looked like he'd been slapped , but before anyone could make any moves, the green rip appeared again. This time, only Phantom's voice came through it. "As it is clear your group can not respect me due to my assumed age and maturity based on my appearance, I will be sending my elder brother in my stead as part of his comunity service as required by his parole for the crimes of the genocide of a mortal realm."

Superman finally seemed to realize his mistake as a man even larger than him, with pale blue skin, death red eyes, foggy-fire for hair, and baring the same symbol Phantom had worn stepped through the rip. "Alright, which if you fuckers told my baby brother to relive the most painful moments of his existence?"

Danny still wants some contact/alliance to help deal with the GIW, but doesn't wanna deal with mortal idiots rn. So he sends Dan in his place for his "community service" aka redemption arc.
