what happens when satoru gojo fakes vulnerability and someone responds with actual care?
a/n: reader using a male avatar so she doesn't get underestimated and satoru using a female avatar to scam his way through life is literally the silliest dynamic i’ve ever cooked up. like hello??? gender who??? one’s silently carrying the whole server with raw skill and the other’s sobbing in sparkles for loot he doesn’t even need. peak clownery. I LOVE THEM.
Tumblr media
satoru didn’t play the game to be noble. he played to win.
he lounged on a mossy ledge in aethergate online’s emerald forest, legs swinging above luminous roots, beams of late afternoon light dripping through the tree canopy like syrup. his avatar—a petite girl with tousled silver hair in a wispy bob, watery blue eyes wide with a kind of fragile wonder—sat delicately beside him, barefoot, skirts artfully dirtied, wand trembling in her small hands. she looked like she’d burst into tears if you so much as raised your voice.
and she was him.
he’d picked the flattest chest size the game allowed, for maximum "innocent lost fairy" effect. her voice—filtered through a pitch-tuned modulator—was airy and lilting, like a tearful anime side character two seconds from fainting. her idle animations were rigged to sparkle when she wasn’t doing anything. a helpless deer stuck in traffic. a damsel in distress.
who also happened to be capable of obliterating an elite raid squad with one broken staff and an accidental crit chain.
in real life, satoru slouched deep into his gaming chair, hoodie collar bunched beneath his chin, white hair curling in a sleepy cloud around his head. his bangs hung low over a pair of gleaming, mischief-fueled eyes behind the visor. he stretched, knuckles cracking, before lazily adjusting the mic attached to his cheek. a bowl of half-finished cereal sat nearby, forgotten. his room glowed faintly with neon strips and a flickering holographic map of the game world plastered to one wall.
he was, objectively, the worst.
and today, he was feeling particularly theatrical.
the forest shimmered around him—twilight casting gold against the thick moss, background players flitting through with cloaks trailing behind, the soft ding of system notifications blending into birdsong. a sprite child NPC chased a floating pet butterfly near the stream, while two players argued over loot nearby, their chat bubbles popping like comic panels. satoru squatted in an overgrown fox den, triggering a scripted ambush, and let a swarm of level thirty wolves drag his health bar down to red. he screamed through his girl voice like a starlet in an old movie. “aah~ not againnn~ i’m sooo scaaared~ someone heeelp~!”
just in time, the brush behind him rustled.
you stepped out.
no fanfare, no slow-mo entrance. just calm, heavy steps. armored boots pressed moss flat as you walked into the fray, blade already swinging. three clean arcs. no wasted motion. the wolves fell without even a snarl. your avatar—broad-shouldered, practical, with short dark hair and a jawline like it was carved by someone very tired—stood tall against the dappled light.
satoru’s avatar blinked slowly up at you. perfect mark.
he mashed the sparkle emote.
“waaah~ thankyuuuu~ i was totally gonna diiie~ you saved meee~ teehee~”
you stared. then crouched, dropping a low-tier potion by his feet.
his real grin stretched wide. “ehhh? you’re sooo nice~ i ran out of everythiiing~ do you maybe have a few moreee?”
you paused. then dropped three more. silent.
he squealed for real. in real life, he kicked his feet against the desk.
“i love you,” he breathed through the mic, voice mod still on. but you just nodded once.
and left.
or tried to. satoru scrambled after you like a glittery barnacle. every time you stopped to check your map, his dainty avatar would sit cross-legged behind you, hands folded in her lap. if you set traps, he’d walk directly into them with the most tragic whimper you’d ever heard.
you always helped.
he couldn’t believe how easy it was.
on the third day, he managed to scam your epic raid-earned sword out of you with a long, high-pitched plea and a sparkly spin.
“n-noo~ i feel sooo baddd~ i’m scamming youuu~!!!” he cried, while pressing confirm before you could blink.
and you just... nodded.
no mic. not once had he heard your voice.
but you always turned to face him. always healed him. always gave a little wave at the end of a dungeon. sometimes you’d do a silly dance emote if he pretended to cry hard enough.
he was on top of the world.
until the boss hunt.
he was half-tempted to ghost you when the invite came in. but... he liked the attention. and the freebies. so he showed up, sparkles and all. actually tried a little. even dodged once or twice.
afterward, when the rare loot dropped, he waited for you to start dividing it.
instead, you traded it all to him. the legendary cloak. the mount egg. the enhancement cores. he stared at the trade window, then at your avatar. you stood still, like a sentry carved from obsidian.
his fingers hovered over the confirm button.
“w-wait, are you sure? i don’t— i don’t deserve all this—”
he flicked on the sparkle emote again, panicking.
but you only bowed gently. then waved.
then disappeared.
he stared at the empty space where your avatar had been.
“…what the hell,” he muttered, voice modulator still on.
then, real voice: quiet, almost pouting. “what the hell.”
he sat down in the same mossy spot, skirt fluttering in the still forest air. around him, players sprinted past in the distance, gear clinking, birds chirped lazily, a low-level bard sang off-key to a party of two, while an animated slime NPC bounced in slow circles nearby. the world went on, coded and infinite.
satoru stayed frozen.
then, slowly, he typed.
“did u mean to give me all that stuff?”
an hour passed. the sky dimmed from golden dusk to violet evening. fireflies blinked in and out between fern leaves. his cereal had gone completely soggy.
then:
“yes. u looked happy.”
his visor fogged a little. his fingers paused on the keyboard.
he didn’t log off for another four hours. just sat there, tiny legs swinging off the ledge, face pink.
slightly smiling.

why you shouldn't use curseforge at all
feel free to request stuff! - please don't request paywalled/early access content and search in the sfs folders first
simfileshare folders with reuploaded content below - hit [ctrl + f] and type the creator you’re looking for ↓
CC
Mods
Save Files
Google Drive folder while SFS is down
you can find lms replacement lists under #mods
lotharihoe's own google drive folders:
gameplay mods
visual mods
bug fixes
🍉 free palestine 🍉
gazan mutual aids and non profits you can donate to daily click
↓ some important info below ↓
about this account
this account is ran by only one person, i can't keep track of every single creator that is curse forge exclusive, that has shared new stuff or has updated a mod. always feel free to send me an ask about any of these things and i will update/add folders as soon as i can. it doesn't bother me i promise! do check the simfileshare links above first please
as a reminder, i am only sharing sims 4 curseforge exclusive content. paywalled/early access content or stuff from thesimsresource are not being shared here. i recommend checking out ts4rebels or dollhouse mafia for those! and if a creator offers an alternative download (sfs, patreon, google drive, etc) please use those, no need to reupload them.
about downloading mods
mods (not cc) get updated often, especially after game updates. if you're looking for a mod please check the creator's socials first to see when was the last update. after that, check this date on simfileshare:
Tumblr media
if the mod was last updated before this, then the mod is up to date. if it was updated after that, then shoot me an ask reminding me to update it!!
beware of hidden curseforge links
some creators have been hiding curseforge downloads in their patreon posts. if you're getting something from patreon it should be a direct download in patreon itself, you can find the files at the bottom of each post with the file's name, like this:
Tumblr media
if a creator is not doing this but instead having a "download" link that quickly opens a new tab and closes immediately, this is most likely to be a curseforge redirect. to avoid this, you can right click the download link and click "copy link". then paste this somewhere, if you see either "curseforge" or "forgecdn", this means it is redirecting you to curseforge without any warning. you can let me know if you find something like this so i can reupload this content to sfs.
thank you for reading and for all your patience :)
remember your daily click! 🍉

🎀 ACNH Sanrio Set: Remaining Items 🎀
Sims 4, base game compatible except the functional vanity & dancefloor which require Vintage Glamour & Get Together | 35 items | Some extra swatches added by me 💗 | See bottom of post for all previously made Sanrio items from other sets
I try my best to make things functional, the large beds work perfectly as they have 2 mesh groups, and I used the EA mattress. The My Melody bed has 1 mesh group, sims can sleep under the covers, but the bed moves a bit when the sim gets into it.
Always suggested: bb.objects ON, it makes placing items much easier. For further placement tweaking, check out the TOOL mod.
Use the 0,9 keyboard feature to raise items or lower them
Use the scale up & down feature on your keyboard to make the items larger or smaller to your liking. If you have a non-US keyboard, it may be different keys depending on which alphabet it uses.
Set contains: Buy: -Cinnamoroll Loveseat (2 items for 2 versions with and without pillows) | 1 swatch each | 2406, & 1998 poly -Cinnamoroll Parasol | 1 swatch | 1198 poly -Cinnamoroll Pillows | 3 swatches each | 428 poly each -Cinnamoroll Rug | 5 swatches each | 637 poly -Hello Kitty Bed | 1 swatch | 1614 poly -Hello Kitty Bed Plushie (liberated bear) | 1 swatch | 674 poly -Hello Kitty Chair | 1 swatch | 1130 poly each -Hello Kitty Clock | 1 swatch | 580 poly -Hello Kitty Dresser (2 items for 2 versions, edited V2 to have the big piece in the back)  | 1 swatch each | 1746 poly each -Hello Kitty Nightstand| 1 swatch | 718 poly each -Hello Kitty Plant (2 items, Large & Small) | 1 swatch each | 2008 poly each -Hello Kitty Rug | 1 swatch | 446 poly -Hello Kitty Shoe Decor (child size) | 1 swatch | 812 poly -Hello Kitty Table Dining | 1 swatch | 702 poly -Keroppi Bench with Divider | 1 swatch | 2109 poly -Keroppi Dancefloor (requires Get Together) | 1 swatch | 2 poly -Keroppi Rug | 1 swatch | 584 poly -My Melody Bed | 1 swatch | 2001 poly -My Melody Clock | 1 swatch | 712 poly -My Melody Rug | 1 swatch | 681 poly -My Melody Vanity BGC (non functional) | 1 swatch | 1218 poly -My Melody Vanity functional (requires Vintage Glamour) | 1 swatch | 1218 poly -Pompompurin Bed | 1 swatch | 1824 poly -Pompompurin Chair | 1 swatch | 1189 poly -Pompompurin Nightstand | 1 swatch | 1132 poly -Pompompurin TV (2 versions, "off" with face, & functional) | 1 swatch each | 1486, & 1480 poly -Posters | 6 swatches | 4 poly -Twin Stars Loveseat | 3 swatches for legs | 2426 poly -Twin Stars Rug | 3 swatches | 807 poly Build: -Walls | 3 swatches | Wallpaper -Floors | 5 swatches | Wood & Tile
Type “acnh sanrio" into the search query in build mode to find  quickly. You can always find items like this, just begin typing  the title and it will appear.
*Remember to run the DX11 batch fix if you are using DX11. I do not use DX11 with my game, when I looked up what would happen if I ran the batch fix even though I don't have this turned on, the consensus was not to do this if you are not using the DX11 option. For those that have never done it, do not fear for it is very simple and will update any CC in your mods folder that needed it to work with DX11. I know the new DX11 API causes issues having something to do with the wall items, or other image texture-related things- that I know of. If you do not have Sims 4 Studio, here is a link about how to install it from their official website. And of course, if you need help please send me a message.
As always, please let me know if you have any issues! 💗

Simynthos - (almost) cc-free
With all testing done I am happy to share with you the (almost) cc-free version of Simynthos today! I was actually surprised by how quickly it could be transformed, and I have to say I'm very happy with how it turned out!
For this version I removed all decorative cc. The only cc you now need for full functionality are the rabbit hole rugs. The lots are so small, there wouldn't have been nearly enough room for the in game rabbit holes. The rabbit hole rugs can be downloaded here.
I still recommend using the performance mods from the original post here, just to make things a little more smooth and enjoyable during gameplay. But they are not strictly necessary. You could also go completely vanilla (more on that below).
There are a couple of things to note:
Some of the double beds are placed against a wall and therefore only one sim can sleep in them now. You can replace them with the one sided beds for two sims, the ones I used in the original version, if you like. The mattresses by sketchbook pixels can be found here, and some nice custom bed frames from @aroundthesims can be found here.
I did make use of @omedapixel's S3DT (Sims 3 Decorator Tool) in two or three places, just to place decorative items on surfaces where they cannot be placed in a vanilla game. You do NOT need the mod for these items to stay in place, as long as you don't move them when redecorating. Then they may slip back into normal mode and you will only be able to place them back with the mod. But it's only in a couple of places, so even if that happens, it will not have a significant impact on your game.
Replacing some of the cc did result in some interactive items not being usable at first, but I hope I caught all of those cases during the (quite extensively 😉) play-testing. So now all interactive items should be usable. If you find any place where an item can't be reached by the sims, please notify me and I will update the world.
How does it run?
I have tested this version of Simynthos in two scenarios: With the routing optimization mods I recommended for the original version (that's the save all the screenshots are from 😉), but also in a completely vanilla game, playing just a small family with one child, and it actually ran pretty well on my gaming laptop, even without any routing improvement mods (my game is optimized though)! If you're going completely vanilla, it may get a bit annoying in some places though, with sims not being able to pass each other, and toddlers not being able to be put down on the ground due to lack of space. But if you do not want to use any mods at all, it would probably still be playable with a small household that doesn't host huge parties 😉
Thanks again to the creators who have made this world possible:
Thanks to @nilxis, the creator of „Sa Pineda“, for the beautiful base to this world. The island on which Simynthos was build is entirely their creation. I did not change the island itself or the terrain painting outside the lots (except for some places where I placed the walkways/paths). All credit for that goes to them! You can find the original version here. Also make sure to check out their other worlds, while you‘ re at it. They are some of my favorite worlds!
Thanks to @nornities for their extremely helpful CAW guide here. Unfortunately I only found this guide when Simynthos was almost finished. I could have avoided some of the mistakes I made, had I found it sooner!
Some of you may know, that I am not the first to make a Greek version of Sa Pineda. Back in 2016 Vendela created Simtorini. This super cute world has the typical blue and white houses another Greek island, Santorini, is famous for. Go check it out here.

Patch 8 Highlights!
As has become my habit, time for my personal highlight reel of things I found most interest or funny in the Patch 8 patch notes!
First, of course, the big hype items:
Photo mode! (I'm honestly uncertain whether I will end up using this compared to the existing freecam Otis camera mod that plugs into Reshade, but it will be fun to mess around with what the game now provides for free. And now console friends can take pretty pictures!)
New subclasses! (I'm not much of a buildcrafter but these will be fun to mess around with. And of course, ask me about my incredibly niche Jaheira Circle of Stars headcanons. XD )
Crossplay! (Woohoo. This feels like it probably drove someone at Larian crazy and I'm proud of them.)
Significant fixes and QoL improvements:
When you succeed a Perception check, the spotted item will now ping on the minimap and be listed in the combat log.
Fixed a savegame issue where you wouldn't get the appropriate amount of Umbral Gems for the Gauntlet of Shar. (This happened to me on my modded young Jaheira playthrough and I was SO confused.)
Minthara now comments on the Emperor's reveal.
Reminded Minthara that 'knocked out' does not mean 'dead', so she'll more reliably appear in Moonrise Towers.
Minthara is now willing to talk to you after you tell her to wait in the torture chamber. (I wonder if this also fixes the issue I recently ran into where she wouldn't talk after fighting her torturers.)
Discovered and available (non-hostile, alive, etc.) traders are now shown on the world map regardless of how far away you are from them.
Fixed a tooltip bug while trading where hovering over any equipped item would display a faulty tooltip, but trying a second time would magically fix it. The tooltips now populate correctly the first time around.
Fixed an issue where you couldn't use Sneak Attack again on your next turn if the enemy before you in the Initiative Order was killed.
A certain plaque in the Thorm Mausoleum now correctly mentions who the coffin belongs to. (THANK YOU, THIS HAS BEEN DRIVING ME FUCKING CRAZY.)
Ringmistress Lucretious may now join your fight against 'Dribbles' & Co. at the circus.
Ensured that the 'Steal a Githyanki Egg' quest isn't left open in the journal if you pass a point of no return and can't return to the Crèche to complete it.
Added a Memorial Portrait to the streets of Rivington. (Memorial for who, I wonder. Will have to go look around.)
And the funny bugs:
Neutral and friendly NPCs will no longer become hostile when, outside of combat, they walk into surfaces created during combat that trigger passives (like electrified surfaces triggering Thunderbolt Strike). Take it easy, lads.
Fixed a bug with the moving platform in the Gauntlet of Shar that would sometimes leave you behind, causing you to plummet to your death.
Fixed an Honour Mode issue at High Hall where all party members would die when reaching the top of the stem if anyone in the party was being dominated by an enemy, causing a Game Over.
Fixed a bug causing non-Dark-Urge avatars to say Dark Urge lines. You're not all obliged to be wretched things with headaches. (This would crack me up SO much when switching from Rakha to Hector without closing the game. XD )
Cerys will stop getting involved in combats with Minthara from across the region. An eager beaver no longer.
Minthara no longer gets stuck babysitting Thaniel in Act II. (A pity, because watching him slowly edge her out of her own tent into a nearby end table was hilarious.)
Fixed the footwear slot in the Character Sheet deciding to just not show up.
Added a new spot where the easter egg song plays. Happy hunting! (Huh?)
Shadowheart has agreed to stop repeatedly changing her hair colour during certain intimate moments.
Healing Vapours no longer immediately makes creatures Wet in addition to creating a Water surface.
Fixed an Undead Harper in the Shadow-Cursed Lands looking like Harper Skywin's identical twin. Nothing to see here, move along.
In Honour Mode, the papa owlbear will now correctly gain Owlbear's Rage when the mama owlbear or their cub dies. (THERE'S A PAPA IN HONOR MODE?????)
Gave the Shadow-Cursed Shambling Mound some bifidobacteria-rich yoghurt to regulate its Digestive Juices. The condition now makes the target Vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage as advertised.
In the Knights of the Shield combat, the Gate Masters will no longer bring reinforcements after the portals are closed. The infinite supply of githyanki spawning from nowhere was a little disconcerting.
Gortash was overenthusiastically using Tyrant's Bindings, so we made him less eager about it when other actions would make more sense.
Reminded enemy NPCs that it's okay to kill the unconscious party after they commit a crime.
Prevented Fast Travel - like going to camp via the hotbar - while on moving platforms like the cable car up by Rosymorn, which could cause your characters to plummet to their death in the interim.
Fixed reflected damage knocking out player characters when non-lethal damage is toggled on.
A couple of chests will no longer unlock things as though they're keys.
You now have to actually have a shovel in your inventory in order to start digging with it.
Fixed another (all together now!) trade exploit. This one let you take items from traders by moving them from a bag in their inventory to a corpse in your inventory. No more packing dead squirrels with goods.
Fixed a split screen bug where clouds wouldn't show up for Player 2.
Fixed a bug where hurling a healing potion as a rogue in what is presumably an attempt to heal a target would trigger Sneak Attack and sometimes damage or even kill the target. (I seem to remember having issues with this with Hector, and I guess his three levels in rogue were responsible. :O )
Alfira will now join in on your performance of the Deluxe Edition songs. (Aw.)
Tweaked the drop table for Derryth Bonecloak so she doesn't conveniently sell the Timmask Spores and Tongue of Madness you need for the 'Help Omeluum Investigate the Parasite' quest.
You can no longer use Silence to keep the protective dome over Last Light from collapsing if Shadowheart kills Nightsong.
Wild-Shaped druids are no longer instantly arrested by the army of the Absolute when following the road to Baldur's Gate from the Shadow-Cursed Lands. (lolol what?)
Fixed an issue with Shadowheart's parents that would cause them to sometimes turn hostile when they shouldn't.
Fixed a bug where killing hostile NPCs in Wyrm's Rock with non-lethal attacks on would be too confusing for them and they'd become unresponsive.
Steel Watchers can no longer get Drunk.
Fixed a flow issue in the epilogue letting you say 'My home is with Gale' to Jaheira even if you were never in a relationship with him.
Fixed a bug where ignoring Gale and his mirror image at camp would lead to his double hanging around in the morning.
Saved some players who were stuck sleeping at camp.
Jaheira no longer trades items at camp as though she's a merchant while she's still in the party - this led to strange interactions at camp. If you engaged in trade with her and left items on her, you can get them back by just taking them out of her inventory the normal way.
Fixed an issue with the Shadowheart vs Lae'zel fight night where the defeated character could still survive the night and would hang around without being able to join the party.
Fixed some cases where the night would literally never end (careful what you wish for) because a party member not in the active party was in a dialogue while everyone else was snoozin'.
Fixed a dialogue flow issue where asking Shadowheart about the fight with Lae'zel would make her talk about Astarion. Focus, Shadowheart.
Fixed a case where the non-summoned version of Scratch had no dialogue at camp. Balance is restored.
Fixed Sceleritas sometimes referring to the Dark Urge using the wrong pronouns when talking to other party members. Also fixed him sometimes repeating his lines.
Fixed companions talking about being in the swamp from Act I even if they're not. It's rude to call people's homes 'stinking swamps', Astarion.
Gale should no longer tell you to join Elminster at camp if you're already at camp.
Gale will no longer demand to eat your magical trinkets if you don't even have him recruited to the party.
Minthara no longer insists on repeating herself about the Emperor's illithidity.
Shadowheart should no longer bang on the chapel door while talking. That's manners.
Removed a particular overhead line in the Adamantine Forge that suggested the hammer was just starting to move when it, in fact, had just stopped moving.
Fixed an issue where Sovereign Glut could join the party as follower after being killed and refuse to leave.
Added a missing dialogue option to leave the dialogue with Bex and Danis a little earlier if their repulsively adorable chatter about getting a pet is too much for you.
Fixed a bug where unlocking the Emerald Grove Environs waypoint before triggering the cinematic at the front gate of the Emerald Grove would cause Memnon and Arka to forgo mourning Kanon.
Hostile Last Light Inn residents will now become neutral again when the hostility is caused by an erroneous reaction to Minthara. (Is THAT why I couldn't trigger Wulbren's dialogue in Last Light on Rakha's run because the area had a combat readiness state enabled? Everyone thought Minthara was invading?)
Shadowheart will no longer immediately turn hostile and act like you committed a crime in the Shadowfell if you tell her 'You want to fight? Fine.' While she's not afraid of a good brawl, she'll finish saying what she has to say first.
Fixed an issue where a dead Shadowheart could still trigger a dialogue at camp with Nightsong.
If you're playing as Karlach, you'll no longer miraculously come back to the Elfsong after burning out or going to Avernus after defeating the Netherbrain when you have multiple romantic partners.
Fixed a flow issue where if Halsin was your romance partner and you chose to go with him at the end of the game, during the epilogue he would act as though you didn't.
Fixed a bug where Scratch could escape the kennels by the Sword Coast Couriers through the power of fetch. Look, a bug is a bug, okay?
Fixed an issue where Flaming First Madigan could get stuck in an infinite dialogue loop, desperately trying to send you back to prison.
Fixed a flow issue where if you were playing as Gale and you didn't become the God of Ambition, you could still find yourself looking and acting pretty godlike in the epilogue.
Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause Zanner Toobin to just stand in the doorway to the Steel Watch Foundry if you walked out of the building while he was your follower. He will now always return to the office and wait for you to come back. Guess he likes it in there.
Fixed the Emperor thinking you don't have all the Netherstones if one of them is in a camp chest.
Withers will no longer let you ask if you can dismiss your hirelings at High Hall, given that he doesn't actually offer that service in dangerous areas like that.
The Emperor now joins the Gather Your Allies moment when your rousing speech doesn't ignite the fighting spirit you were expecting.
Roger Highberry will no longer follow Cora's corpse to mourn in front of it if you move it outside the boundaries of the wine festival. This will prevent Roger from, for example, appearing at your camp if you move Cora's corpse to your Traveller's Chest.
The courier informed us that he found a lost letter from the Grove that was meant to arrive at an important party. It's now been sent on its rightful way.
Minsc will no longer mention the Zhent taking over the Guildhall in the epilogue when Nine-Fingers is still in power. Silly Minsc seeing into alternate timelines.
Lae'zel will no longer have trouble deciding whether she recognises Avatar Astarion in some greetings if he's disguised.
When talking to Jaheira about her Rite of the Timeless Body, you could tell her your race lived longer than hers, regardless of facts or logic. Now this only applies if your race does, canonically, live longer.
Wyll's greeting after entering the city will now be more appropriate to your Attitude rating. If it's below 20, no more Mr Nice Guy.
Other characters should no longer show up during Gale's contemplations about surviving the end of Act II after departing. (It amused me a lot when Karlach came over to lurk during this conversation for no reason. XD )
Fixed some lopsided and upside-down chairs letting you sit on them anyway.
Moved the hirelings' spawnpoints to prevent them from spawning in Shadowheart's tent.
Tightened He Who Was' belt so it fits him better around the chest. We're pretty sure he could have tightened it himself, but he insisted someone else do it.
Adjusted the Dark Justiciar Half-Plate for female characters, which, when worn without underwear underneath it, was letting the nips peek through.
Gave Bunny and Blossom - two very much human children in the Lower City - clothes fit for humans. Without tail holes.
Updated several boots that were making githyanki knees disappear when equipped.
Updated the Teal Slimfit Outfit to correctly show a tiefling body instead of a human body when equipped by tieflings.
Fixed Lae'zel's hair looking like it was badly crimped in a romantic scene with Gale.
Fixed one of the tendrils of the jester hat vibrating ominously when worn by female dragonborn characters. Also fixed all the tendrils standing up stiffly when worn by dwarves.
Fixed Oliver's limbs sometimes getting all stretchy during Hide and Seek and looking a little too Slender Man for our liking.
Reminded the Spectator that its rays should come out of its eyestalks, not its mouth.
Fixed a bug causing Ketheric to sport Mizora's hair.
You'll no longer be able to literally see through the hips of large female characters when they're wearing Shadowheart's camp clothes.
Fixed an inappropriately dramatic music change in the endgame cinematic after Gale sacrifices himself and the githyanki depart.
Fixed the combat music failing to trigger if you initiate the combat with the Entombed Scribes in the Dank Crypt by trying to pick them up, presumably to cradle them in your arms.
Fixed a rock in the Shadow-Cursed Lands camp that would make the environmental music stop playing if you walked on it and then off it again.
Fixed avatar genitals sometimes showing up during Astral lovemaking with Gale when they shouldn't.
Added an additional head animation for Scratch so he continues to hold his ball correctly in his mouth. Whosagoodboy!
Asked Jaheira to kindly look at Lae'zel when she's talking to her.
Female gnomes who choose to slap Gale's hand away at the start of the game will now actually slap his hand instead of swiping confidently at the air.
Fixed a shot in Gale's recruitment dialogue where, if you decided to draw your weapon, you'd act it out very threateningly but not actually be holding anything in your hands. Gale always took your game of make-believe very seriously, though. (Rakha did this and it made me laugh. XD )
Fixed your character dramatically whipping their head to the side at a dangerous speed in the dialogue with Astarion, Petras, and Dalyria in Wyrm's Crossing.
Barcus is no longer Mike Wazowski'd by various items like cauldrons and bottles, blocking him from view when you talk to him at Last Light.
Fixed a bug where githyanki players who lose the duel against Lae'zel would later overlap with Lae'zel's body during a tender moment.
Fixed an issue so that Lae'zel's eyes no longer appear totally emotionless before stabbing Orpheus. She didn't even look her usual level of angwy.
Fixed female halfling and dragonborn characters' eyes clipping through their eyelids in delight while getting jiggy with Mizora.
Fixed Astarion's forearms looking like they've detached from his body in the dialogue at High Hall.
Fixed Mizora snapping her head around like a bobblehead if you reject her when she's enticing you with the pleasures of the Hells.
Fixed a bug where choosing to hug Minsc in the epilogue as a large-bodied character, like Karlach, would cause you to repeatedly attempt to hug him, even if you miss the mark.
Made sure Shadowheart won't be wearing a helmet when she asks you what you think of her new hair. Kinda makes it difficult to give an opinion.

Note
Hi Lamare,
I've been using your cleaning supplies (and laundry) mods and loving them, but I ran into an odd issues with the former. Whenever I try to change a baby's diaper at the (vanilla Maxis) changing table, I get the following error:
Object id: 32 name: Diaper Stack size: 4 Error: Illegal owner field in data reference. Iterations: 1 Frame 3: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 6 Tree: id 1874 name 'Check/Subtract Cleaning/Washing Supplies' version 1 from global Prim state: 0 Params: 1 2 1 Locals: 0 0 0 9 Frame 2: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 11 Tree: id 4096 name 'Function - Init - Diaper' version 14 from Diaper Prim state: 0 Params: Locals: Frame 1: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 0 Tree: id -1 name 'No behavior' version 0 from Prim state: 1 Params: Locals: Frame 0: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 0 Tree: id 4097 name 'Function - Main' version 11 from Diaper Prim state: 0 Params: Locals:
The game then freezes until I hit delete with the testing cheats enabled. What Caused This idetifies lamare_suppliesMOD.package as the culprit, and indeed removing it solves the problem. At first I thought it might be a conflict with Siknoy336's Babies Need Diapers mod, but it happens even without it. I tried running the HCDU but it didn't find anything suspicious. Any ideas? 🤔 Thanks again for everything you do!
Hi Pixeldolly
Thanks for the report! This error will be fixed in the next update
Funny, I'm working on a diaper stack object right now :D
👶 BTW, everybody, if you come across a deco diaper pack that's not under "do not touch'' policy, please let me know! :)

A Sims 4 Players Guide To The Sims 3 By Simmearly
I am putting this together based on my own gameplay experiences and expectations, so some of this is purely my opinion.
Tumblr media
I recently decided that with my new PC I would re-install The Sims 3, and All EPs, to see how it ran and play around with the features I miss in TS4,
I followed this guide on steam to set the game up to run smoothly.
To paraphrase just a little, this includes a TON of information, but basically, it shows you how to replace the launcher, and run the game on modern machines without issues.
Gameplay would not be possible for longer than an in-game week or so without the fantastic NRAAS & Lazy Duchess Mods.
I Use, Nraas Overwatch, Master Controller, Register, Error Trap & Traveller, which is my personal favorite, as it allows you to travel to more worlds for vacations, and own vacation homes in them etc. It also allows for you to move to a new town and retain relationships from the other town(s) you've lived in.
I recommend good default skin and eye replacements, as well as default replacements for Eyebrows and Beards, I Recommend Checking out @brntwaffles on Tumblr, as they have these as well as lighting mods to brighten up the in-game lighting and water!
Gameplay Mods,
I really enjoy TS3 Vanilla gameplay, so this list is short (For Now) however I do want to expand upon it, the Growing Pains Mod - adds a lot to the child stage and I feel like it integrates so well with Vanilla that it could have been in the game from the start.
Smaller Quality of Life mods,
Nectar Glass Replacements
Sim Drinks - Adds Buffs For Bar Drinks
Shop For Clothes at Clothing Rack, TS2 Style
That's it For Now, I will probably update this post as my Legacy continues, I am currently on Gen 4, and am having a BLAST!
Also - I do own quite a bit of the Store content and I have found myself using it more than expected, I bought a lot of it years ago, and I failed to realize then just how much gameplay is involved,
The Steam it up sauna is currently my favorite object due to its regenerative properties, but the Business-as-Usual industrial Oven, placed on your home lot allows for you to basically have a private chef! (Don't pay full price for any store content, wait for a sale or find it on other avenues) ;)
Thank you to all the amazing creators mentioned, none of this would be possible without YOU!
Edit - TIP! Reset your town using Nraas every few sim weeks to keep things running smoothly

Nothatanyonecaresintheleast, BUT! I DID THE THING!
Here's the final tally of the Update versus My Sanity:
Game loaded but lashes were broken and some custom wallpapers were busted! It's OK! I was PREPARED! I reverted back to DX9 and updated all my beautiful Kijiko lashes because Sasha's personality is basically his eyelashes, so I am eternally grateful to @kijiko-sims (やあ!アップデートありがとう!さいこうです!🥰それに、かんじがわかりません。😅)
UPDATE 0 - ME 1
Went to check out Ciudad Enamorada. There were duplicate worlds, so I exited without saving, removed my mods folder, and ran repair in my game.
UPDATE 0 - ME 2!
BUT THEN! When I removed my mods folder to my desktop, my system told me I already had such a folder and I merely x-fered new files to the pre-existing folder and then my 'puter deleted the mods folder from the game instead of recycling because it's such a honking large folder. When I opened the game, the duplicate problem was solved but then the world wouldn't even load and I had a million exception alerts and I thought I had screwed myself over and was going to shit a brick.
INCOMPETENT ME 100- ME 2
Thankfully, I realized the old folder still had some outdated versions of big mods alongside the updated ones. I deleted them and now everything seems to work. Everyone looks right and hopefully that's it.
UPDATE 0 - ME 3 (As of right now. Hopefully, there will be no further developments affecting this tally, omg pleasepleaseplease)
Thank you for coming to this riveting account of updating my game.

joining the anons screaming at u for help hahahah ;] do u know any tutorial for adding physics to clothes/jewelry? i ran thru the whole modding wiki and found nothin
Hey anon! That's fine, I'm happy to help!
Both of these require the same thing: an existing item that sits and moves in the place you expect your custom mesh to be.
Adding physics to garments is limited because most of the NPC clothes use something called Cloth Proxy, which is not a system we have yet cracked to use.
For example, you can't have a jacket that dangles like River's because his jacket is a proxy mesh instead of a rig mesh.
Tumblr media
You could, however, base a garment on Judy's overalls because the belt dangle has a rig and animgraph. This however limits you to having a garment/item on the legs, as it'd need to follow the general area of the original dangle - all you'd need is steal weights from it, as you would when handling a regular mesh re-weight without dangles.
Tumblr media
Jewelry on the other hand has dozens of different rigs and dangles. I'll give an example with Farren's necklace, which uses Alt's physics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, the first step is finding something in game that sits and moves like how you want your mesh to. Some have stronger movement in physics, others don't, and more often than not you have to try multiple meshes to find the one that works for you.
The easiest way to know if a mesh has physics is just to check in its folder if there is a .rig and .animgraph component with it. Items with physics also generally have bones that start with dyng, which you can check in the boneNames entry on WolvenKit:
Tumblr media
Then it'll be just like a regular weight stealing process. Pop both meshes in Blender (you don't need to export the dangle entries), make sure your desired mesh is now using the rig of the transfer mesh, and that it sits roughly in the same spot so weight stealing is accurate.
Alt's Necklace:
Tumblr media
Farren's Necklace:
Tumblr media
I'm not gonna show how to weight transfer, but it's the exact same process of regular clothing/items. You do, however, sometimes need to do some manual painting in the dyng bones just to ensure the mesh won't break when dangling.
Good dangle dyng:
Tumblr media
Bad dangle dyng:
Tumblr media
After you have your mesh re-weighted, materials fixed, etc etc, you'll need to decide if that's going to be directly into a NPV/NPC+ or an ArchiveXL item. There is no way to simply make a mesh replacer for one of V's clothes because they don't have the means to reach the physics .rig and .animgraph. (At least, I don't recall so.)
For NPV/NPC+, all you need to do is path your jewelry into a regular component, and then its .rig and .animgraph on an animated entry.
Tumblr media
You can custom path these if you want, I normally don't because nowadays rarely a mod will go poking into a NPC's dangle skeleton.
For ArchiveXL, you'll be pathing the dangle into an animated component entry of your garment's .ent.
Tumblr media
After that, it's a matter of testing!
If the mesh promptly collapses into the floor when you equip/load it, then it's not reaching the rig and/or animgraph, or wasn't weighted properly, or might be in the wrong rig.
Hope that helps!

pasted from discord ignore asterisks and crap
Just pulled off the best minecraft prank, probably ever. My friend convinced me to watch a minecraft mod called "The Broken Script". The things that can happen include (but arent limited to) randomly placed signs, mobs acting weird (staring at you), and most importantly, a dark black block appearing in your doorway or in random places.
I started simple. I placed a sign in the villager farm saying "Help!" in jokes that it was unethical. Denied it for a while to get them on edge. I SOMEHOW IN SECRET created 8 blocks of black concrete. if you play bedrock without shaders, you know black concrete is just a void of black. Almost identical to the block that appears in doorways. I placed that thing right in their door right before it was time to skip to morning. They SCREAMED. I played it off somehow without getting caught, so after a while of "wowww thats crazy ahaha! Let me break it, its just concrete!" I placed another one in my house to make it seem like a both of us problem. I played it off in fake fear, pretending i was actually afraid and sleeping in their minecraft house until I got the "nerves" to break it. then after jokingly trapping them in the black concrete blocks they KNEW i had, I broke them and claimed they faded into the ground (I picked them up and they didnt notice) In the middle of this, I made sure to emphasize behaviors of mobs that tend to stare: Villagers. I convinced them it was abnormal. And somehow, a perfectly timed cave noise lined up with a villager locking eyes with them. Timing like this made the prank feel more real. Later, the block reappeared and they claimed that was it, dropping the block in the hole and waiting for it to despawn. They went off to mine a tree, and I quickly DUG UP the block, placed it inside the hole, and buried it again. when we went back to check later for "closure" and they freaked out AGAIN when they saw it hadnt despawned, but placed itself. I claimed i was tired of it and we both ran to the nether. they watched me burn the thing in lava. To add onto selling it this whole time, while I had 7 in my inventory, i made sure my hand always had ONE void block. that way when placed or dropped, i looked empty handed. tiny details sell the whole prank. Guess who freaked out when they saw the block appear in front of the nether portal as if it crawled back out of hell? (not to mention I sneakily made sure to naturally reccomend the nether while making them forget about the block). After the failed trip to the nether, they went back to their storage basement to grab all their vaulables back, and we heard coincidentally perfect zombies in the walls. They went to kill them, and while in the hole, I blocked off the hole and accidentally made it pitch black (scaring them so hard they left the game). While they were still on edge (and apparently shaking) they went to mine some coal found in the hole. I decided it was too late at night for them to be afraid to the point of shaking, so in one last hoorah, I place every block around them and explain it was all me. They were pissed at first, I think. But it ended in us both being interested in the manipulation and psychology involved. Anyways best prank I have ever and will probably ever pull. Super proud of myself. Definitely reccomend.

Never Fade Away
THIS IS A VERY LONG POST with big spoilers in both words and pictures for Cyberpunk 2077!
But it's also all my feels about a playthrough that's taken me many months and almost 300 hours to complete.
----
I played Cyberpunk 2077 on release. As I said in this "Games I played in 2021" post, which is a thing I wish I'd remembered to do every year, I loved it. That said, it probably wouldn't have cracked my top 10 or maybe even 20 favorite games ever, but I thought it was amazing, right out of the box. I ran into a couple of bugs, like couldn't complete the Delamain questline, and definitely agreed with some popular opinions about the game that parts of it didn't seem quite done, I had a couple of crashes and times I had to reload from something weird happening, but playing on PC I didn't have a lot of the problems console players did apparently.
It very much felt to me like another Andromeda situation -- another game that needed another couple of months to finish ironing a couple of bugs out but was mostly a victim of its own over-anticipaiton and overhyped-edness by the fanboys (and girls.)
That said, when I finished it I set it aside to wait for major updates before I'd pick it up again.
So last fall when it's one and only DLC, Phantom Liberty finally released, it was right around when the BG3 hype was happening so BG3 came first. But I kept having to wait for mods to update after patches dropped, so during one of these breaks I went and started playthrough #2 of Cyberpunk 2077.
Tumblr media
My first time through I was a Nomad, so to mix it up this time I went Corpo. I really enjoyed Corpo a lot more and thought it had some much cooler interactions than Nomad ever gave me. Although, I thought the introduction and subsequent friendship with Jackie felt more natural with Nomad.
There were several goals I had going in to this playthrough.
Different origin - check.
Send Jackie's body to Mama Welles -- with no spoilers from my first run, I thought sending the body to Vik to work on first would be the most logical choice and either he could help Jackie or at least get him interred properly so Jackie's mom WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE TRAUMATIZED by her son's body just showing up. Guess that was the wrong choice and it was way too late to change once I found that out. So yeah, start things off right with Mama.
Complete the Delamain quest now that the showstopper bug a LOT of people ran into was fixed. (Didn't mention it later, but check!)
Find all the Hidden Gems
Pick a different ending.
Install cool mods to enhance things without breaking the game.
Generally, just do everything. Except maybe the Sinnerman questline. (I aborted halfway through and didn't regret it.)
Understand the main storyline in ways that had confused the hell out of me the first time around.
High quality Screenshots screenshots screenshots screenshots screenshots.
Tumblr media
So with 1 checked off, I decided before advancing the main storyline much, I'd try to raise my fame level a bit and also just let Jackie live for awhile.
I did some research and landed on installing the Welcome to Night City mod collection. It's well researched, well maintained, the creator is really responsive, and has a Discord with a well supported community. Importantly for me, it also didn't have any "sexy" mods, just great gameplay tweaks, fixes, customizable on how much harder/easier it made the game, and added a lot of flavor and experience but felt like everything just worked in the background. Also since I have a Premium Nexus Mods experience, the install and upgrades were very, very easy. I didn't do the upgraded CyberpunkTHING experience, since it makes the game harder. I was here for a good time.
(And yes, I endorsed every mod in the collection!)
Honestly it added so many things that I'm sure there was a ton of stuff I just experienced thinking that that's just how the game was now, but it was a part of a seamlessly integrated mod collection.
I'll definitely use this mod pack again the next time I play. But also I didn't install ANY other mods really for a very long time, and I now really wish that I had. But we'll get to that.
I also installed several other graphics mods on my own, like a high-res skin for River (and the... shall we say... anti-Kendoll mod for him lol) and like, this mod (and several others from that author) that tones down the hypersexuality of the ads in the game. I realized early on that they don't bother me in-game -- it totally fits the aesthetic and tone of the game! But also I didn't want all that in screenshots that I will have rotating on my desktop for years (shoutout to DisplayFusion) and would have the possibility of like, my AC guy or my neighbors kids having to see as my Office is my living room (and my living room is the smallest bedroom of my house).
Tumblr media
I did a lot of the gigs in Watson before advancing the main storyline so I'd have an OK character for storming stuff this time. I recently found a list of places Johnny talks in early Watson jobs to avoid doing early next time:
Side Job: Losing My Religion (where you have to free the monk from Maelstrom)
Fixer Gig: Backs Against the Wall (recover stolen medicine from veteran)
Fixer Gig: Scrolls before Swine (get the CCTV footage for the cop, only if you watch before downloading)
So you can do all NCPD hustles, the first 10 Fixer gigs and and all side jobs except Losing My Religion without losing out on any of the Johnny experience.
Leaving that there for next time. Anyway, it feels like it makes more sense to get this chance at the big gig when you have some experience, and can pretend you and Jackie were living life together a little while longer. Next playthrough -- use AMM to take some hanging out with Jackie screenshots early on.
---
Eventually I advanced the main storyline enough and finished the Heist, and was able to check #2 off my list. Loved not getting yelled at by Mama Welles this time. And felt with the added time that I had a right to be doing this -- still extremely stupid in retrospect -- gig. But it was more fun have tools to deal with the hotel guards this time.
Knowing who Takemora was and meeting Johnny again were really enhanced by knowing what the fuck was going on the second time around. Keanu really knocks it out of the park when you finally really understand the character.
Tumblr media
Though I hate the early adversarial feeling between him and V, I get it a lot more now. Watching the relationship grow is really worth it.
---
I wasn't invited to Jackie's memorial the first time. So getting to go the second time and help repair Misty and Mama Wells' relationship was great, and I really loved getting to know Jackie better by picking out something for the funeral at his garage, and the added time with Misty.
Tumblr media
---
I told myself I'd do a different spec than stealth-hacker. I was wrong. I still did that. I love using Contagion and Overheat to take enemies out non-lethally while crouched behind something nearby. The ones that really deserve it get a shot from Skippy later.
Tumblr media
Yeah, as soon as lockdown was over I hightailed it down to Valentino's territory and then headed back to Watson / Japantown. I gave Skippy up as late as possible, when he was outliving his usefulness. I got him back as fast as I could, but I miss his voice. I miss his quips.
After that when I needed a weapon I mostly used the Arasaka experimental smart SMG. IDK, I just liked the feeling of stealing shit from Arasaka and using it to fuck up their own people whenever possible. But again, I didn't shoot weapons much anyway.
---
I spent so, so much time just driving around taking pictures of my cars and the amazing ways the light looked while driving through the city. I absolutely fell in love with the aesthetics of the city, every part of it, over and over again. I posted a few photosets. There are more in the queue. There are so many screenshots I didn't use.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, honestly out of everything I love about this game just... looking at it is maybe my favorite thing. There's so much to see, all of the time, everywhere. Your eyes can never take it all in. I'll be in a place I've been a dozen times and still find new awesome things to look at. I just can't describe how much I enjoy just... looking at this game.
I never fast travel anywhere -- except out of the Megabuilding 10 apartment. I took the metro a few times just to sit back and relax watching the scenery go by but normally I just drive everywhere.
Jackie's Arch and the Porche 911 (and its variant in the bottom screenshot) are my favorite vehicles. Bikes for maneuverability, but also likewise the Porche has better handling than a bike while still being really easy to weave through traffic in.
Tumblr media
Night City is one of the few locations in any video game I've ever played that TRULY feels like it could be a real place. Every neighborhood is distinct. Though there are some familiar things, one Captain Caliente doesn't look like every other one. You'll see a few of the same signs around, there are some generic small building structures but where it makes sense. Yeah there's a few monolithic Arasaka buildings but of course they would be. How efficient. The megabuildings are similar, but different enough. It feels like every detail of the world was crafted so carefully. There's so much beauty even in the ugly bits.
Tumblr media
I never want to stop looking at it, or screenshotting it. I just love the city so much.
I'm going to run out of screenshot space on this post.
---
I romanced River again. Look, I'm a basic primarily het romancer in video games. I love Judy, she's amazing, but River ticks my boxes -- the Paladin archetype who gives it all up to do the right thing even when it costs him.
I hate that he's the most undercooked of all the companions plot and time-wise. But there were some huge improvements this time. All the companions had gotten extra text message interactions. A fun little quest that added a bit more content in PL. They Really Want To Stay at Your House! And along with that, amazing mods are now available to make those things even better. (River Romanced Enhanced, the Really Want To Stay At Your House and Romance Interactions Enhanced mods)
Around the mid-point in game after seeing some amazing photosets on my desktop, I got brave and installed Appearance Mod Menu and a bunch of other pose and photomode mods that go along with it. Also some outfit mods for River. And then things really got cooking screenshot wise.
Even though it took a lot of effort to set this stuff up and to get poses to work right sometimes, I got to feel like River and my V went out and had real dates on the town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also sometimes... we just uh... stayed in.
Tumblr media
There's so many photos that won't ever make it to tumblr. And so many more sets I want to take.
Well, that's what reloading old saves is for.
You'll see some of these screenshots again, or have before. I have a lot of things queued that will pop up... sometime. I like to surprise myself with my own photosets. :D
---
I finally installed the Virtual Atleir and started modding in outfits a little while after doing AMM, was trying to install things in waves as to not break too much. I got a few crashes here and there, but not as many as I was worried about, after installing stuff on top of Welcome to Night City.
I kind of regret waiting so long to do Virtual Atlier and clothing mods but also not. I think I manually collected like 95% or more of all the ingame clothing. I still stop by clothing stores but they usually have nothing new for me, or just things like... masks that I never use. There's such a huge variety of clothes already in the game that I didn't get to build a lot of outfits around pieces that I love. I made a whole post of ingame-outfits I made and love!
And there's one in the queue somewhere of modded-in outfits, too. Not even all of them.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the ultimate Dress-up my dolls and make them kiss game, and I may never stop playing that aspect of it.
Tumblr media
---
Hey speaking of Kerry Eurodyne, I love him. And Panam. And Judy. And Vik. and Claire. And Misty. And Rogue. And the rest of Samurai (Well, I chose Denny and always will.) The only thing I don't love is how it feels like you still don't get enough time with any of them, except MAYBE Panam.
I would love to be able to space out all of their missions even more. I try to put as much space in between the companion missions as possible, but this time it backfired on me a little because i crammed Judy's stuff in way later in the game than I should have, around when I was doing Kerry's stuff. When all of the main quest and most of the side quest stuff was done. And we all know that we don't get Kerry until way too late anyway. But doing Panam's stuff happened so long ago that sometimes I'd just drive out to see the Aldecados and hang out for a day because I missed them. (And, as you can see in the River screenshot above, I "brought him along" to introduce him tot he family once or twice.)
I have a great photoset in the queue of all the main characters hanging out at the Corpo apartment together I can't wait to come up someday. Not posting a preview screenshot here.
Except I forgot Claire. It took me like an hour to set that scene up and now I'm thinking about doing it all again to include Claire.
Anyway, mostly I just want to say that aside from just loving River, I love them all and don't want to leave them behind either.
Or the Fixers. Or Reed. But we'll get to Phantom Liberty.
---
Just one more quick stop here to talk about the music.
I installed the Improved Radio Continued mod and wow it really enhanced the music experience for me.
I am a 98.7 Body Heat gal, with a flip to Pacific Dreams when Ponpon Shit or History would play, but loved about half the new music on Growl FM. It took some finagling, but Improved Radio let me make my own custom radio station with JUST the songs I wanted. So it's a mash of those three stations, without the songs I disliked. (There's one on Pacific Dreams, the REALLY long one that has the interlude of someone saying the same word over and over really slowly? That one... ughghgh) and that was amazing. There's a handful of songs from other stations I liked too, that got added in. And, I'm sorry, no Us Cracks allowed. I love them as characters, still hate their music.
What I didn't expect was to really fall in love with the music of Samurai this time around. Like, I knew I should have the first time but I didn't put effort into listening to them since metal isn't my usual vibe. But it IS my brother's, at least when we were in High School and College, so I listened to it a lot back then and there are still metal songs I do like.
So this time I put all the Samaurai songs in my playlist and holy shit I fell in love with them.
A couple of weeks ago I was driving to visit my parents IRL and the entire way up there I just listened to the Samurai songs on repeat. I'm a big fan now, thanks second playthrough.
Tumblr media
----
So, Phantom Liberty was the big reason for the new playthrough. Let's talk about it.
Tumblr media
I absolutely LOVE Dogtown. oh, Pacifica, but worse? Amazing. So much new stuff to see, and do. I loved exploring every nook and cranny.
It added SO MUCH to the game, I can't imagine playing the game without it. I didn't even go to there until I was like 2/3rds of the way through the rest of the content and I wish I'd spread it out EVEN MORE.
Tumblr media
I will say that I thought some of the main quests were a bit long. I felt myself itching to get out and go do something else throughout some of the long sessions like basically having to do most of the stuff with the President in one big long chain, though it made sense. I loved those quests, though! And I think I'll like them even more on a subsequent playthrough some day.
Tumblr media
The only part I really did not like at all in Phantom Liberty was -- ok look I made the choice to side with Reed the entire way. It's Idris fucking Elba okay, I have loved him since The Wire. And I absolutely understand why Songbird did what she did, and what she would have done if I'd have sided with her. And maybe I will next time. But this time, I was all in on Reed -- though I didn't become an Agent for the NUSA, fuck that. And I gave Songbird her final wish. Because again, fuck the NUSA.
Tumblr media
But oh man, that last quest? With that FUCKING ROBOT following you around the base at the end, that is an instakill if it finds you? FUUUUUUCK that. It was so frustrating that I stopped playing for over a month because every time I thought about going back into the game to finish that my head wanted to explode.
Eventually I watched a couple of Youtube videos and read a couple of articles about exactly where to go and how to hide from it.
Look, I love exploring, I love taking my time, I love making sure I explore everything and miss nothing. That fucking robot harshed my gaming style so much. No regrets about cheating my way through that part. Zero. I made it through with only dying to it one more time and got the fuck out of there. I was also glad to see in the comments of the video I watched and articles I read that I was very much not alone in that opinion. I might side with Songbird at least most of the way to the end in future playthroughs JUST to never have to do that base again.
Otherwise, though, Phantom Liberty was a triumph. I want a mod that makes the Dogtown apartment not shit but also not luxury, and then I want to just stay there a long time.
----
So, I'm almost done with the game.
I installed two Hidden Gems mods that turn the easy-to-miss stuff into Fixer (and Ronald in Dogtown) quests and LOVED THEM. I wanted to see and do it all. And I did. I'm done with that. It took me many more hours of gameplay to get through all of that. Worth it.
In my playthrogh, River is waiting for me at my Megabuilding apartment to spend one more night together.
And then I'm calling Panam and having the Aldecados come help me storm Arasaka.
Last time I had Rogue help, and to be honest, I feel like that's still the right choice. Rogue helped start this. She should help end it.
But one of my goals was to do more things different. And to be honest, I hate the endings, so much.
It's not that I necessarily think there should be a happy ending for V. But I think that the game should let us help make sure other people have happier endings.
So here's the thing. V is richer than like 95% of Night City by the end of the game. She's got like six apartments, at least a dozen cars even if you don't buy many at the car store, My V still has like 8 million eddies.
I don't care what the game says.
In my game, V went to a financial lawyer.
V set up trusts with each of the Fixers, or maybe one for all of them, where they can access funds to hire mercs to help people who couldn't afford a Fixer but needs one. I'd trust most of them to use this wisely, or maybe Regina, or Rogue, or Dakota or Padre would help oversee it. At least a million eddies out there, to help those who get fucked by the system most.
Tumblr media
V sets up a trust for Judy, so she's always got enough to get by. She sends her the best tech she's gotten her hands on to ply her trade with. Maybe a new van. Set aside some to help the Dolls.
Tumblr media
V sends her heavy duty vehicles and Scorpion's bike to the Aldecados, along with a huge stash of weaponry and half a million or so eddies to help them stay solvent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Misty's and Vik's rents paid up for at least a year. A vehicle each. Another 250k or so for each of them. They have room to breathe. Whatever Cyberware is laying around goes to Vik -- but if River wants a couple of pieces installed, he gets them (within reason. No cyberpsychosis for my man.)
Tumblr media
Same for Claire. Set her up with her shop's rent paid up, and a trust, give her The Beast back, and another car of her choosing.
Tumblr media
Kerry doesn't need much, but she gives him Johnny's outfit to remember him by. Or maybe to Rogue. What do these two giants want? Whatever it is, they can have. Split the memorabilia.
Tumblr media
And then River.
First of all, a trust for Joss and the kids. 250k each, the kids get theirs in small chunks as they age. If there's a note on either of the trailers, it's paid off. If Joss wants to move into the city, done. Set the kids up with scholarships to the best schools they want to go to. A decent, reliable car for each of the four of them. Maybe Randy wants the Megabuilding apartment for when he's ready to live on his own again.
Tumblr media
River gets most of what's left after all that. The Glen apartment specifically, that's where they made their best memories. There's still going to be like 4 million and a bunch of cars and property left. If V dies, it's his.
This is the closest thing to happily ever after that they can get, and in my mind it absolutely happens, at some point.
Honestly, if it were me, if I didn't know the "two years later" of it, then V would have taken the President's offer and gotten Johnny out of her head surgically and lived. The will probably would have triggered. Or knowing that the surgery could be risky she'd at least have put in a provision that a percent of it triggered so Joss, the kids, River, Judy, Claire and Panam would be taken care of.
She'd never have left River destitute and desperate to take care of the family. I can't accept it.
V would wake up maybe with less money, but her assets protected enough that even without being a Merc she'd be OK. The people she loved would be OK. River would have taken care of things, and would love her without her implants.
It'll never be happily ever after in Night City, but the people that matter most will be OK.
---
Tumblr media
But I'm going to finish today, maybe tomorrow. I planned on it today but then I spent 4 hours writing this post and have a PF2E game tonight to DM that I need to prep for.
I installed the River's Epilogue Enhanced - Nomad Star Ending mod and.... so I'm bringing the Aldecados to Arasaka, and am going to have the happiest ending possible modded into the game. With my headcanon that a trust is waiting for him and the family. They'll be fine.
I love this game. I loved it before, I love it so much more now.
I can't wait to play it again someday.

Am I a programmer?
I've spent the last weeks developing an actual little app using Python...
It all started with a Let's Play of Subnautica I saw on YouTube. Since Subnautica is one of my all-time favorite games, I got the itch to dive back in (pun intended). I play with tons of mods, so I had to check for a lot of updates and also juggle different versions since the last Subnautica update broke a lot of the older mods. So after some back and forth, I decided to remain on the older version for now. Great! But then I noticed that because of that back and forth and uninstalling mods, all my mods were reinitialized, and that meant trouble for one of my favorite mods, Autosort Lockers. The mod adds automatic resource sorting inside the game, which is super handy. But it was built to only work with the game's resources, not modded items. It does offer config files though. So when I last used the mod, I painstakingly edited the configs and added all modded items, which took hours. And now, I accidentally messed them up and was supposed to redo all of that. The thought filled me with dread. So I asked ChatGPT, which I have grown quite fond of recently, to help me. Why did I ask ChatGPT? Well, I need to go a bit further back in time to explain that.
One day, not too long ago, I asked ChatGPT to reformat a long list. ChatGPT said, "Apologies, I cannot process such a long list. Here's a Python script, here's how to install Python, copy the script, run it and it will do what you want." I thought ChatGPT was crazy, surely that would never work!? Nut I was curious and also a little desperate so I did install Python and ran the script and ... it did what I wanted. I was stunned. Could I use ChatGPT to write code for me? Apparently, the answer was yes. So I spent a lot of time directing it, add this, add that, and I noticed that it was not at all as easy as I thought. ChatGPT removed code when it felt like it, and the longer it got the more it messed up. But also the more time I spent copying/pasting Python code, the more I understood. Sometimes, I would just ask "What exactly does this bit do?", and ChatGPT patiently gave me answers. Running the Python code from the command prompt got tedious very quickly though. I asked: "Can't you make a button for me that I can click??" To my surprise, ChatGPT said: "Sure, let's make a gui." And that was it, the moment I fell in love with Python. So I made a few attempts at this and that, most only half-finished because the project got too ambitious for the little knowledge I had.
I heard about an AI especially made for writing code: Github's Copilot. I decided I had to try that. Since it only worked in real programmer's tools, I installed Visual Studio Code. Now I really felt like a programmer, using fancy tools! And Copilot made things easier, much easier. It did not delete all kinds of code like regular ChatGPT. It was even more helpful. I was super motivated and got to work on my "Autosort Lockers Filter Update Helper" since Python is very well suited for automating stuff. Because several config files were involved, and several values needed to be loaded, converted, compared, merged, loooked up, reformatted, and saved into multiple files, it was quite the undertaking, but I am at a point where most of the logic actually works and I have a real program with real buttons that I can click on. I made a program that actually works with my very limited coding knowledge! It would not have been possible without the help of AI. My patience and long hours paid off. Can I call myself a programmer yet? I'm not sure, since the code was written mostly by AI, not me personally. But I can confidently call myself the director and mastermind behind it 😎 and I actually want to learn more about Python so I can one-day code stuff myself without needing AI to do it for me. The app is not in a publishable state and I guess I would need to do far more tests and let someone who can actually code Python look it over before I would feel comfortable sharing it with anyone else, but it feels incredible to have pulled off something like this. I just wanted to share this accomplishment with someone!

So i'm rotating a random fnf mod thought in my brain..........
Just another self insert mod
(absolutely nothing special)
Just one week with three songs plus a few extras hidden in either freeplay or codes
The main week would be titled "The Mod Shit™" lol
It would start with a cutscene where sona hears knocking at the door and, without knowing beforehand, lets Bf the blue haired menace inside his house. Cue The Mod Shit™
NOTE: none of the songs will be covers they're just inspirations for now (if i even get the chance to make this a thing at all)
First song: "Doodle"
It's very whimsical and goofy and stupid and yes the sona does rubberhose shit too it's a very typical cliche calm yet still offputting first song uhhh cue the cutscene where sona is a little frustrated because Bf won't fuck off
Then there's the second, more darker toned, "Breakdown"
Here sona would transform slowly as the song goes on, the transformation showing THE MOST when the song builds up to the ending bits, and after that... It's Unnerving time.
UNNERVING
I WAS LEFT TO FESTER AND MUTATE IN THE DARKEST DEPTHS OF THE SUBCONCIOUS
AND I GREW AS CONSEQUENCE
I GREW, AND GREW, AND GREW
I COULDN'T STOP GROWING
UNTIL I STARTED TO MAKE MYSELF KNOWN
I AM HELL ITSELF
AND I SHALL BE LET LOOSE
Here is THE banger (except longer and not solo it's Bf vs Unnerving). The game would make itself windowed to reveal the pc wallpaper having changed to Unnerving staring into your soul with a impossibly huge toothy smile. The game would fuck with you throughout the whole song, moving the window/arrows around, like Paranoia from Mario's Madness.
After that song is beat, the game "closes" with the sound of the voice of Unnerving.
"NEVER COME BACK, RUNT"
If you check the files after beating, you'll find a few that weren't there before. What they are idk i'm just getting the shit i got in my head outta my system lmfao
The same will happen if you lose! Game closes, albeit with Unnerving laughing his ass off or roasting you (tbh sona just roasts the shit out of Bf and you anyway) orrr... Shipwrecked 64 style jumpscare. Bf is killed brutally. Feel free to ask about it, i wanna elaborate (i love Shipwrecked 64 jumpscares they're so fucking cool)
The extra songs also grant secret spooky files too! Only a certain few tho. And that's all i'm sayin' i ran out of thoughts to spew lol okay byeeee AAAA

rereading the story of that time in skyrim's development where the opening couldn't play bc the cart was being sent into the stratosphere by a single bee and remembering i experienced something marginally similar while modding the game
it's been a few years... but for some ungodly reason, i was going through the cart intro again instead of just loading into unbound (an alternate start mod). i guess i wanted to do the real intro again but didn't have an autosave after the ride ends? don't remember.
so, anyway, i was doing the cart ride, and about halfway into it, the game crashed to desktop. now this isn't terribly unusual for skyrim, and i was willing to move past it if it didn't happen again, but it did. and again, and again, and again...
so obviously i started futzing with my mods. i mean, clearly, that was the issue. i don't remember if i had 200 at the time but if i didn't, i still had a number well above 100. that's a lot to go through, and neither vortex nor LOOT indicated any issues, and SKSE wasn't showing me anything of use either. so what the fuck?
(fwiw, modding skyrim does involve multiple programs, but as the game was made with modding in mind, it's way easier than the majority of games that came out around the same time, let alone earlier.)
i think around this time i tried to load into unbound again, but the game crashed immediately when trying to do so. i had to find this issue if i wanted to play skyrim with my current mod loadout.
so i had a few options:
split my mods into batches and test each one until the crash occurred, then narrow it down until i knew the culprit
learn how to actually understand SKSE a little better and find the problem through it
load the game with NO mods and try to pinpoint what the issue could be to narrow it down immediately
believe it or not, i did all 3.
i started with the first, but iirc i only split my mods in half, and the way vortex works and the way things are divided made it a bit hard to do even that in a non-time consuming way. you can split up your mods but you also have to make sure each half has all relevant dependencies, you see, or the game's going to crash anyway. so i narrowed it down to half of my mods (the other half ran fine), and went from there.
this is where the last option comes in. frustrated, i loaded into the vanilla game, taking note of the setting right about where the crash always happened. i noticed that just when it tended to occur, a rabbit ran across the road. was that it? was that my culprit? i combed through the borked half of my mods, and sure enough, rabbit mod. except it was just a mesh restructuring that a different mod i actually cared about was dependent on. but hey, mods are weird, so i disabled it and ran the game.
nope. still crashed. not the rabbit.
now, i'd been hunting through reddit and the skyrim modding discord and nexus threads the entire time i was going through this ordeal. NO ONE was having the same issue i was. but there are a lot of troubleshooting tips out there for skyrim fuckery, and when several other steps had already failed, i turned to one i'd never tried before: coc riverwood.
"coc" means center on cell, and it's a console command to teleport you instantly to any cell in the game. notably, you can activate it without loading into a save. (i'm sure plenty of other commands can also do this, but i don't mess with the console much).
so riverwood is usually the location people use to check and see if the game is running well otherwise when the intro is bugging out. now, i'd been messing with this CTD issue for hours. i was convinced my game was just irreparably borked, somehow; maybe my computer simply couldn't handle the mod load. but i did try coc riverwood anyway, inputting it at the start menu, which either loads you into a default character or a character from one of your saves, i don't remember which.
and... the game ran fine. VERY fine. better than i was expecting. i wandered around riverwood, interacted with things, and saw no issues at all. so what the fuck? clearly, the crash wasn't a skyrim-wide issue, it was an issue with the cart ride.
and where is the cart ride going? helgen, of course.
so, on a hunch, i backtracked along the path i'd walked a dozen times with other characters, out of riverwood and towards the caves you use to escape helgen. i think i was just barely in view of the start of the reverse of that path when the game crashed.
so, problem (sort of) located: the helgen cell. (which would explain why unbound also didn't work: it loads you in on top of a tower in helgen when you're selecting your file options.)
so here's where that middle option came in. removing mods i knew for sure affected helgen didn't fix the issue, and i didn't even have that many of those, because why would i? helgen is destroyed and there's not a ton of reasons to go back to it outside of morbid curiosity, which i'd done enough times in other saves. that meant whatever file was the problem did not openly or obviously affect helgen, which in turn meant i would need to comb through the half of my mods that crashed the game in SKSE to figure out what was doing it.
this was at least easier than going into SKSE blind; i knew what i needed to look for. so i started looking. by loading all of those mods into the program and then looking specifically for effects or changes to the helgen cell, i could figure out what the issue was.
SKSE is color coded; i don't have it on my current desktop so i can't open it to look right now, but i know for sure that scripts causing no issues at all are green, and scripts causing issues are red. (there are also yellow/orange and grey ones, i think, but i don't remember what those mean.) usually red scripts mean conflicts, which can range from "negligible gameplay impairment" to "crash to desktop when the scripts meet for any reason", because modding is cool and fun.
so i think what i did was keyword search "helgen", and the results i got were largely just confusing for me, because i cannot wrap my mind around how SKSE works. but there was a very clear conflict in there. i just wasn't sure what it meant, or if it was actually my issue.
the script in question was from a mod that i cannot actually recall, but what i DO remember is that it was a mesh/texture optimization mod of some kind. like, the sort you install to make your game run better. it wasn't one of the big ones, i was just overcompensating for my poor old windows 7 desktop that had long since become obsolete for modern gaming, so i had a lot of them.
the specific script i was getting a conflict error on was some texture or mesh in helgen, likely an insignificant one based on what i remember... so i was unsure if it was the issue, but aware that it 100% could be.
and it was.
disabling the associated mod allowed me to enter and exit helgen as normal, with no crashes. i'm reasonably sure i did post about this issue in that mod's comments, or on r/skyrimmods, or... something. can't remember. i was also liveblogging it on twitter but no part of me wants to try and find that again (if it was even on my currently existing twitter and not the old suspended one)
i'm not sure if the mod itself was the issue or if my download of it had gotten corrupted in some way, but i never did try to use it again, so who knows.
skyrim modding is super fun when it works! and when it doesn't work, maybe take breaks while going through the arduous process of troubleshooting your obscure issue
