Ok now I'm fully on board this 'Buck actually decides to volunteer at the animal shelter" train, because what do you mean Tommy stops in one day looking for a cat, and Buck just pops up from behind the counter where he was picking up some papers he dropped.

"oh, h-hey Tommy. What're you doing here?"

Smooth, Buck. Smooth.

"Oh, I was thinking about getting a cat. You know, to keep me company."

"Ah, well. I've been good. (He absolutely hasn't.) We had a call here last week and they said they needed help, so I decided to volunteer on my days off. You know, since I have all this free time."

And Tommy just gets that besotted smile on his face and a knowing look in his eyes. "Of course you did."

A Guiding Touch

It starts with a hesitant question in front of an old door.

"I can offer some assistance - m...may I touch your hand?"

Astarion quirks a brow at her but proffers his hand as if she were to kiss it. With a quick, barely there but enough for it to count touch, Mynara casts her spell.

"Oh, a priestess, how delightful," Astarion purrs before returning to the lock.

It happens again when she spots a trap. "May I?" She asks.

"Darling, I appreciate the thought but I hardly need any assistance." He offers his hand anyways and she casts the spell once more.

Later, Astarion is glaring at a lock that seems to elude him.

"Astarion...?" She inquires. He clicks his tongue in annoyance and holds out his hand.

"Alright, fine." She casts the spell. He picks the lock.

It turns into a bit of a ritual for them - an offered hand or even elbow, a little guiding magic, and voila, an opened crate or a solved trap. Her touches are always light, always just barely there.

After he seduces her, her touches become more present, not in an adverse way by any means...which is surprising. He almost anticipates the warm feeling of the spell coursing from her fingers into him before he picks a lock or undoes a trap. There is just a bit more pressure in the touch from her using the entirety of her hand rather than fingers.

Then he tells her.

A myriad of things and emotions and shocks happen and then he's at a lock again.

"Astarion, may I?" She asks. He turns - she hasn't asked quite like that in weeks.

He feels a twinge in a long silent heart. "Of course, darling," he says as he offers his hand.

It looks like the Kintsukuroi series and one of the works in it, Nowhere Else But Here, have been deleted from AO3. Is there a particular reason why?

Yes, actually. Several. First, I learned that sticking together a bunch of loosely related works I was writing out of chronological order was really not the best idea for engagement and, more importantly, comprehensibility. So I took out the metaphorical seam ripper and pulled them apart. I plan to add Kintsukuroi back as a tag, rather than a series, so I don't have to worry about such pesky matters as chronological order, widely varying time periods and OC-focused works with main character-focused works.

Nowhere Else But Here was a plotting trainwreck and needed significant redrafting. I was still trying to pin down Jon and Martin's voices and how I wanted the world to feel. It will go back up with major revisions, possibly before Christmas. I am also learning to figure out how to do the CW tag lists that are common for TMA fic. It was, in an academic sense, interesting to discover that tagging conventions could vary so widely between fandoms.

But genre conventions would make a whole post, maybe for later, so I'll just tease it by saying that there are situations in horror 'verses that seem to require content warnings because they are considered intrinsically horrifying for at least some people, while in science fiction 'verses, especially far future space opera, it's a bit more "well he only had the two arms and one head at the time, but that's definitely Zaphod", my engineer is made of tentacles, yes I reproduce by binary fission, do you have problem with that?

I'm still messing with the actual tags for the verses so none of them have proper verse titles but basic run-down:

verse 1 ; Ganon makes the choice to find out what he could be on his own terms, leaving the desert to explore Hyrule and potentially break the cycle

verse 2 ; Ganon follows his pre-determined path and sets out to unleash the Calamity as he was raised to do.

verse 3 ; in which the other Gerudo discover Koume and Kotake's plans and take Ganon away from them. In the attempt to avoid the Calamity, he is made King and has to unlearn his mothers' treason.

verse 4 ; Bad End. No details on this verse yet.

As cameras becomes more normalized (Sarah Bernhardt encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use cameras because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by manufacturing companies. I paint not because I want a painting but because I love the process of painting. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.
