20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I gotta brainstorm this

I used to use the word ‘jarring’ all the time because I say that in real life LOL

I think when it comes to writing and more dynamic themes, i think the main thing i try to emulate in my writing is that you know whats going on in the scene. I want to make sure that the reader knows the layout and how every person is interacting with each other. I try and go back over my writing over and over again to make sure it is understandable

I think a newer theme is emotions ? i focused so much on physical descriptions in my older works that it wasn’t,,,, fun? To read my stuff. So with my newer works i tried to experiment with more complex emotions, especially the physical repercussions of the emotions lol

I’ve said this before but @eilwen is SUCH an incredible writer. No Reason is a fic that I cry whenever i see that its been updated. Their style is so poetic and detailed and i lovelovelove the story and world building its so incredible.

Kuwakun or @tomboyyyaoi here on tumblr has the most beautiful like,,, poetic style of writing… i want to try my hand at poetry style writing one of these days. I have such a literal and straightforward writing style that i would need to practice if I wanted to write the beautiful imagery that they have in their works…. (I sincerely believe they are one of the only people that really understand trimax vashmeryl)

58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)

Hmmmm

I think outlining and editing are tied in my mind. I LOVE creating the story, and that happens when i outline. I see it all in my mind and can normally get it down on the page okay, but the story really comes to life when i outline, and then it is reborn when i edit lol

I love going back over my work and editing. It helps me realize what isn’t flowing well, what words were strange to use, what sentences just make absolutely no sense because my brain was moving so fast that i forgot half of the words lol. But I love editing in general…. Its so fun.

66. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie. pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc.)?

So far i haven’t faced a lot, which has been nice. I think what helps is that I do this because I like to. I love sharing it with people and knowing that others really enjoy the story,,, but its really a selfish act LOL 

If i get negative comments,,, those fly over my head. The positive ones far outweigh the negative ones (although, i havent gotten any ! which is so nice lolol)

Updating and deadlines,,,, i set those myself ? so like,,, if they need to be moved or adjusted i can just do that

And you can too ! please work at your own pace. Don’t feel burdened by those who read or consume your creations, I am certain most if not all are patient and willing to wait however long it takes for you to feel like its good enough to share

73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?

Hmmmmmm im gonna be a brat about this and say I write stuff that flows well. Funfact about lace, this is because I have written so many history papers, and those need to flow well in order to make sense. I go back over my works countless times to make sure everything is coming across well and that the audience knows whats going on. Is it perfect? No. I went back and reread chapter 1 of in the meadow recently and immediately wanted to start fixing lolol (i might do that 👀)

I would say it helps that I know grammar lolol,,,, i try to not put dialogue for different people in the same paragraph or do run on sentences,,, but I am certainly guilty of using the same adjectives over and over or putting too many commas in one sentence lol 

75. What scene in in the meadow took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?

Okay,,, there have been a few parts where i had to pause and take a moment before i actually got my thoughts down

The first was the fight between Milly and Knives about Wolfwood. I had planned that scene so early on,,, but I … i couldn’t figure out each character’s motivation for SO LONG. it took me forever to find why Milly would even put up with him when he was the one to kill WW but also Milly wouldn’t hold a grudge like that and yakjdlkfjsdlj it took so long and i went over it a billion times to fix it and change it ugh

Another one that was sillier was in the latest chapter (28) I was having the hardest time planning out the silly conversation with the sisters. It literally made me stop writing for like a week T-T I couldn’t figure out how to make the conversation flow or how to make Vash seem like a sleaze while not a huge sleaze or for the ladies to tease Meryl UGH

I still don’t think its good but it was the best i could get it

I also avoided writing the final chapter for a minute cuz i didn’t want it to be over,,, then i wrote the whole thing in one day lol (squid knows lol)

The laidback energy of this song is similar to Cake by the Ocean if im not mistaken. Interestingly the chorus uses a falsetto style singing and we just happened to have falsetto kings on us in the form of Soobin and Taehyun.

It has a higher bpm than i expected. The precussion (? I dont actually know any technical music terms) definitely gave the song something. Bc it really needed something. Anything.

Very Very simplistic in both song and MV. which i suppose is not something we get in Kpop Land anymore. But for me it doesnt do anything memorable or interesting to hold my attention.

I feel bad for all the flak i gave JoBros. They are kinda cool. Their presentation and music has some sense of personality, even tho i cant tell you what it is (cant be said about most men in Pop Music). They gave out an aura of effortlessness from seasoned performers, and the instruments definitely helped.

Txt also gave very cool and laidback and confident. I was kinda surprised bc i dont think we’ve seen them way before. Like very… loose??? Their parts were also very energetic and bouncy. Them playing with their facial expression was very fun to see. Love the choreography.

There is some weird vocal effects thing going on i cant tell who’s who. Therefore i cant even tell who got lines and who didnt. First i thought Soobin didnt get lines but then i identified some parts as his but im not sure???

We’ve had full English songs before, but lyrics like “got plans we havent made yet, its whatever” and “you throwing that drink back, youre staying a whiiillee” feel very English, does that make sense? Idk txt singing about how their partner is a goddess that makes everyone around her feel some way with her charm is so funnily strange to me.

Im not talking about which band got more lines. But in essence it is a JoBros song. Txt? Not so much. It first felt like txt was trying to fit and emulate JoBros’ energy. But then it felt like the same song interpreted slightly differently by two artists with different styles and different industries. JoBros where performing with their body language and instruments. Txt was performing with choreography. JoBros gave it suave, and txt gave it innocence. And they sort of met at the middle.

Hi i'm curious about chrono trigger and want to play it but the old menu graphics and long af load times on an emulator make me put it off. Could you as a chrono trigger enthusiast share some reasons to play and what you personally like about it (without spoilers)😄?

Hell yeah!

im gonna say first off that if youre trying to play anything but the super nintendo version it is not worth it unless you happen to have a hacked 3ds to play the ds version(its expensive as hell so i cant reccomend buying it). there are animated cutscenes in later versions that you wont be getting w snes but the other versions are either hard to emulate or just hard to play. if you happen to have a hacked 3ds or a ds flashcart id say do the ds version but i can never recommend emulating ds games on pc. the cutscenes are on youtube anyway.

but anyway! its a really fun jrpg! its got an incredibly unique battle system thats difficult to explain but like... every combination of two characters has unique abilities they can do together, and you can only have 3 members to your party at a time, so its fun seeing who can do what together, but it doesnt punish you for picking characters just because you like them.

all of the characters hail from different backgrounds and most from different time periods and you generally get to see snippets of what their deal is whenever you go to said time period. they all have their own motivations and personalities and stories going on that youre just coming in on midway.

the character design is by akira toriyama of dragon ball fame and i think it really works in its favour honestly. ofc crono looking exactly like goku is a bit odd at first but w the rest of the art style and enemy design i think it all fits together nicely. it also has one of the greatest soundtracks in jrpg history which really fits to put the whole thing together.

finally i just think its a very... sweet game i guess. like, the premise is youre time traveling to save the world, but its not... its not really about that. youre time traveling mostly just to fix things and help people. everything you do in one period affects the later ones.

there are multiple endings, but the best one is when youve fixed as much as you can. doing the peaceful thing, doing the right thing, doing the helpful thing, will always always benefit you in the game. and i think theres something charming about that.

its just a very unique experience and i have by far not done it justice but it is widely considered one of the greatest games ever for a reason.

the opening cutscene is probably the best way i can cap this off because i think it gets across a lot about the game. if that doesnt scream that this is gonna be an experience i dont know what does.

Scout: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ not the most emotional mature of the mercs; even himself admits that he is pretty immature even for his age (early 20s), but this doesn’t means he doesn’t have empathy or that he doesn’t care about his S/O. He sees you suffering and he is big time worried. He tries to motivate you, drag you out of your bed and do something fun or at least go and buy some food. He will get annoying but he can’t just sit there and watch you rot. He is a hands-on guy, he might not understand why you are acting up like this, but at the same time he doesnt know how he can approach you. He will try to hug you tighter and bring you food and water, his shoulders can be a pillow for you to cry all day and night long and his hands are there to wipe off the tears from your face. He hates seeing his bby sad and would give half his Tom Jones memorabilia for you to wake up one day and be your old, happier self ♥

Soldier: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ although his social skills are in scarcity, he isnt a traitor. He sees his S/O down ( mentally) and it pains him to an unimaginable extent  to see you so unmotivated . He doesn't understand why are you sad, what has happened? Did that crazy Kraut touched you? who he needs to snap the neck? He hates seeing you like this. Will be stubborn, just because he doesnt understand something it doesnt mean he can't find a way around. In the end, he will push you enough to actually break down and explain everything that has happened. For the first time in years hes just silent, he broke the dam and he is beyond ashamed of making you break down like this. He doesn't what to do so for now he will hold you as tight as he can and promise in America and whatever is holy and pure in him that he will help you untill you are again okay. ♥

Pyro: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ they know that you are sadder than before and they can see you points of view. They themselves know that life sometimes just sucks and that its okay not to want to eat or leave your bed. But they are also afraid that whatever is plaguing you it will become worse and worse and they really don’t want to see you hurting yourself like they once did. They try helping you do simple things, drink a glass of water, play a bit with their stuffed animals, theyll help you brush your hair or wash your face. They know they baby you, but they think you need a bit more of some more smootches or cuddles. If they see you worsening or being even less active they will drag you their pillowfort and just try to keep you as close them while chanting sweet nothings and sad mumbles, please don’t loose yourself like they did. ♥

Engie: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ he might be a cruel, cold man when hes on the field, but in reallity he is the cinnamon roll meme( he is a cinnamon roll and he might kill you tho but he is mostly a cinammon roll). He knows also that work and his projects take a really big amount of his time so he already feels very guilty. I doubt he has any humanitarian doctorates, but he has an above average understanding of human psychology; whats the point of trying  to emulate life when you cant understand it?He knows he can't address it straightforward, but he needs to get you over this slump before you do something really stupid. Que him cleaning up his workshop and carrying you there bridal style. He has a small nest of pillows and blankets and right next to it his trusted guitar.You have the whole night and the day after to spend it together and get in the bottom of the barrel. Itll be hectic but he is a very patient man and loves ya to bits ♥

Demo: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ lowkey one of the mercs with the most expierence with depression/ depressive episodes. For once in his life he doesnt drink and tries to find the rute of the problem, if there is of course or its just pent up anger and frustation with things that have happened in your life now or in the present. In simple, you will talk. For hours if needed. He wont drink a sip becausehe doesnt want to forget even the stupidest detail from your venting. In the end, he will offer you to drink but he will drag you out of the base/ house and make you sit in the front porch/ garden  while he has set up some “ festive” fireworks ( just some small ones that erupt and turn into hearts) . He isnt the ideal psychological perfection, but if you chosed the scottish cyclops for your mate, then he shall go to the man and back just to see you smile one more time. ♥

Heavy: ˜”*°•.˜”*°• he has seen depression and has experienced it himself. It was way too traumatic for a young man to have to support a family without a father figure around. I highly headcanon him to have deppresion hence the sandwich, hes bingining while staying in the battlefield. He doesnt care about the language barrier, in order for the both of you to be as close as you are know, it means you understand eachother to a satysfying extent. He will cook you a very hearty meal and bring it to your bed with a tray and sweet tea. You can eat in silence with him simply staying by your side and rub your back, words can’t potray how he feels right now. Once you finished hell put the dishes outside and simply cuddle you ( being the least cuddly of the mercs, it means a lot). You can nap, cry, trace patterns on his sculp anything really. All his life the main cause of depression was the anarchy surrounding his life, he needs you to feel protected. He doesn’tcare how much time it will take, but he will rip the mountains apart to seeyou smile out of genuine happiness, might even cry if he is the cause. •°*”˜.•°*”˜

Medic: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ the most medically, again qualified from the group. so he has at least that covered. He isn’t stupid, you show clear signs of cronic clinical depression ( also known as manic depression) and although it has been a long while before finding a patient to lobotomize, hed be damned if he ever butchered you up like that. He is a healer, even if enjoys his enemies to hurt a little more than they should, and a healer is here to help both the body and the mind. Will persuade you into getting under medication, even if he knows theyll have little to no effecthe just hopes the placebo effect will motivate you. He tries to mix your routine with his, ex. he wakes up really early when you finnaly after hours of insomnia fell asleep, hell tuck you in and kiss your forehead. Throughout the day hell send Scout or Heavy to bring you food or water or your medications. Pyro will be by your doorstep or you side, to keep you company during the day. At night he will carry you to the medbay and do all the talking for you if you dont feel like talking, he will listen to all of your venting. Lowkey will sit you on his lap so he can rub your back and let you cry/ just sit there, to feel his heardbeat on your face and relax. ♥

Spy: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥     actually he isn’t that mentally mature as much as he strives to be. He has very unhealthy copying mechanisms, he fucks and smokes his torments away, but he also knows different people have different copying mechanism and he cant judge how people seek comfort. He doesnt know how to help yo, he really does but he doesnt know. He is nervous but he will probably suggest you two take a vacation away, together. He has planned it all fancy and nice, and pretty much has scanned the whole place/ area/resort you are staying and having “ friends” around. He doesnt care if you just stay all day in the resorts pool and just chill around drinking pina coladas. In the middle of your vacations, he will take you to a more secluded area and will open up about his issues , not about your relationship but about him as a person. He has many issues and he is a very difficult person to be around, so you haveto know he will never judge you. But he also doesnt know how to help you. This will make you hug him and you two can finnaly have a good, well-earned cry. Kiss him on the nose or on his head and tell him how much all this means to you and he will cry you a river and hold you till the dayhe dies, how can someone so late in his life means so, just so damn much? ♥

Well, ive noticed that im at my most productive during october for inktober and december for the 12 days of christmas. I think when my brain is given a bit of structure and a deadline it starts to kick into gear. So ive decided to create an art challenge for every month of the year and see if i can stick to it. Jot a world January

Basically come up with a concept for a world and/or its inhabitants. That might be creating a Tolkienesque map of the world, it could be writing a short story about it or even a bunch of notes in an ideas book. Maybe its illustrating an index of the characters or creatures in your world, or painting some of the landscapes. Either way it has to be a cohesive world. Minimum 6xA5 fully rendered pages. Or 2xA3 fully rendered or 1xA2 fully rendered. Or one small A5 sketchbook of sketches, story or notes.

Fic pic febuary

This isnt just fanart, oh no... this is fanart of fanfiction. Maybe its doing an animatic or comic strip of a scene or two of one of your favoirite fics. Maybe its drawing a couple of stills from a go to fic. Cant choose? Then do one still for number of different fics. You like big art? Then make one big peice! Minimum 6xA5, or 4xA4 or 2xA3, or1xA2/digital equivalent.

Multimedia march

Well in this one the only rule is you have to use 5 different media on one page. It could be almost anything, crayons, pencil, paint, papier-mache, modeling paste, collage, felt, pastels, chalk. Hell you could use coffee, makeup, toilet roll, tinfoil, go out and stick some leaves in! Whatever works. Maybe you want to create a scene or a charcter, maybe you want to create abstract patterns have at it. 6xA5, or 3xA4, or 2xA3, or 1xA2

Agraian april

I admit it the only reason this is on here is because ive recently become adicted to stardew valley. Now thats out of the way this could be used to design your own farm where ever it may be whatever it might grow. Is the farm on mars? Or maybe you want to do some studies of real farms, crops or animals. Perhaps instead you'd prefare to draw some foliage trees and flowers. 6xA5, or 3xA4, or 2xA3, or 1xA2

Make a colouring book may

Do you ever look at some of the adult colouring books they have now and are just like wow. Now become them. What ever you want but try and emulate the colouring book style, detailed, simple, traditional, digital doesnt matter as long as your lines are crisp. 1-6 pages.

Journey june

For this one you have to show a journey is it a journey of the self, is it an adventure of a group, is it a holiday? Maybe its a short story, a comic or a series of stills. 6xA5 or equivalent.

Jar dwelling july

I know this has been done a billion times but i still think its cute. What or who dwells within your jars, is it aliens, a house, a planet a, a monster? Maybe its some potions or a fish or some interdimensional food products. What ever it is there need to be at least six of them, big or small.

Absurd abodes august

Ive recently got quite into isometric house/room concept designs on pintrest. I want to make some! Is it a witches hut or a multy story tree house maybe its a dungeon that houses a bunch of freindly skeletons. How absurd can you make your abode? 6xA5 or 1 xA3

Shiney september

Its time to make some shineys, use whatever shimery shit you got. You got metalic paints or gell pens? Do you have glittery goods? Maybe you havnt thats fine just use tin foil. Maybe you want to create your own pokemon and make them a shiney card, or do you want to paint lots of treasure, or do you want to make things that are definatly not shiney into the most eye watering glitterly mess you can, then this is the challenge for you! 6xA5, or 3xA4, or 2xA3, or 1xA2

I left this one vague so that anyone participating in the anual inktober can work this theme into it, no sense in more stress of an extra challenge.

For this one you need to create a grimm like fairytail of your own invention and illustrate it. Is it page by page or a strip? No length or size options for this one, what ever it takes.

Because i have my own challenge to do in this month ive made the theme easy to integrate into it. For everyone else i supose this is a chance to draw some nobles or royalty some victorians, anything or one with a stiff upper lip so to speak. No size or amount options for this either.

HECK

1: Age Group   For fic tbh whatever, I know a lot of people in fandom are underage and are exploring and figuring out what they like, etc. Plus not all my stuff is explicit, and some of the stuff that is still isn’t porn so. As for original stuff that will likely all be explicit as well, so an adult market audience.

2: Genre   Usually fantasy, sometimes science fiction.

3: Big Idea or Detail Oriented Outlining   binch i cant outline for absolute shit. I guess big picture but like…. ?? the biggest possible picture, almost to the point of being useless lmfao. someone help me.

4: Line Editing or Plot Revision   I prefer line editing for fics because I’m lazy and it’s for free, but overhaul type revision results in a better finished product so I use that for original stuff (and commissions).

5: With or Without Deadlines    With deadlines, definitely. I can crank out 1k in an hour if I have a deadline, but without one it can take me 2 years to write just as much (see: Zwangsneurose, started the second I got home from seeing The Winter Soldier, still not finished, word count at ~800 lmfao).

6: The Biggest Compliment   I love it when people mention details that they noticed! Or if god forbid I was funny once.

7: Current WIP Length   I have 12 fic WIPs right now and the longest one is 7.7k. I have 4 original WIPs right now, but they are all in development stages, with no word count yet.

8: Author Comparison Goal   @neil-gaiman 110%. He is my ultimate goals and a huge inspiration, not to mention just a plain cool guy. I also would love to be compared to Rick Riordan or Gillian Flynn.

9: Biggest Struggle   Foreshadowing probably. I sort of wing it as I’m writing, and I can’t do a very good outline like I said, so it’s tough to get good hints and clues as to what’s coming. That’s part of the reason my originals are taking so much development (not just because I have to fill in all the worldbuilding that is already mostly done for fic).

10: Brainstorming With Others or Alone     I like to do a bit of both. I really appreciate input, plus talking things out can really get the creative ball rolling. But I like to get into Deep Shit on my own too, especially with worldbuilding. I’ll always share with others though, even the stuff I wanted to come up with all on my lonesome.

11: Characters Based on Real People     I’m sure there are aspects of people I know, and of myself, in every character I create, and likely even in characters that have already been created. What you know will always leak into your writing. However, I don’t usually base a character fully (or purposefully) around one real person. I do namesakes though, but they’re almost never modeled after that person, it’s just a shoutout to someone I find inspiring in some way.

15: My Characters in Someone Else’s World     I would transport my characters into (brace yourselves for a shock lol jk) American Gods, primarily so that they could get some good old fashioned “help” from the Big Guys.

16: Movie or TV Show     Well two of them have pretty finite endings. The romance legend could be a tv show but with a limited amount of renewal, ala A:TLA (but I’d like it better as a graphic novel). The vampire tragedy has a very finite ending so that would make a better movie. And the witch noir and girl gang are both a bit neverending-WIP-ish so they’d make pretty good shows.

17: Soundtracks     Yes! They help keep me focused and writing in a cohesive tone when I have to leave and come back. Y’all can listen to the playlist I have for witch noir here. Eventually I’ll split it up for character and/or scene mood, and I might add some scene suitable ambient noise tracks too.

23: Proud or Anxious     usually I’m more proud, but sometimes when it’s something that’s very deeply personal or controversial I can get anxious.

24: When Did I Become a Writer     tbh sometimes I think I came out the womb that way. I don’t remember not being a writer, and I know I had legit novel ideas as early as like 3rd grade, and was making shit up with pretty words even earlier.

25: Must Reads in My Genre     three guesses what i’m bout to say y’all. Literally anything by Gaiman. Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart series. Any Pratchett. Donna Gillespe fucked me up with The Light Bearer. Bear Daughter by Judith Berman (although that is kind of a tough read, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for everyone).

26: My Genre Needs More…     Diversity in general, specifically more people of color, queer people, and people with disabilities (that aren’t magically erased). Also in my opinion there needs to be more things in between grimdark and go-lucky fairytale.

27: Inspiration Source     History, anthropology, and pseudoscience.

28: Character Naming Stress from 1-10     Probably about a 2 or a 3. I use behindthename.com which can be searched for meanings, sound patterns, usage, and origin, and has a handy “name themes” search algorithm. I also recently found the legit U.S. census thanks to @peppersandcats helping me out with search terms, and that can be sorted by ethnicity, gender, time period, and geographical location. So I’ve got names pretty well covered!

29: Underwrite or Overwrite First Drafts     It could go either way, but generally speaking unless I have a word limit I usually like to add more during editing. Except when something is confusing or too complicated, then I’ll cut it.

30: Calming or Stressing      Not really either tbh. I enjoy it a lot, but it’s mostly exciting! Not calming or stressful, but either a fun adventure or a challenging puzzle.

31: Favorite Trope     Tough to pick just one tbh. I love tropes when they are done “right”. Even tropes done classically can be great (as long as they’re not -phobic of some sort), but I especially love when they are done satirically or inverted.

32: Backstories for Side Characters     Guilty af. Even characters that might not even make it into the finished book have backstories, personalities, and quirks.

33: Characterize Before Writing or Develop with The Story     A little bit of both. I like to have a solid character to work with at the beginning, but for in-text character development I like to let that unfold with the plot and the other characters.

34: Old Writing in One Word     Prolific

35: Villains or Heroes     I like them both pretty well, but my favorite characters of all time are always a little ambiguous so if I had to pick just one kind that’s what I’d go with.

37: Advice     Have fun! Be proud of yourself for what you come up with and celebrate your creativity even if you think it doesn’t compare with other writers. The happier you are to create, the more creative you’ll get. Also, like with any other kind of art, pick a couple role models to emulate and that will help you develop your own solid style.

38: Advice I Fail At     The first draft doesn’t have to be perfect. I spend too long line editing while I’m writing my first draft and that makes it a lot harder to finish anything.

39: Importance of Positive Reinforcement     I’d say reasonably important. Definitely helpful. But I know I’ll keep writing even without it.

40: Question for Favorite Author     How much difference is there between how his creation is in his head versus how it came out in the words, and does he ever think about rewriting things that are long finished?

41: Distracting to Read While Writing     Actually, no. Reading other comparable works helps keep me motivated, inspired, and focused.

42: Motivated or Discouraged by Critiques     Tbh I don’t think I have ever received a real in-depth critique so I’m not certain? I’ve had idle “I liked this, but I didn’t like/understand that” type of feedback, and that has usually been pretty helpful and appreciated. If nothing else it lets me know what parts of the story might not be as accessible to an audience.

43: Protagonists in My Likeness     Yes, there’s a little of me in very many of my protagonists, and often even in fic characters that I write. But, like with other real people, they’re not usually modeled after me, we just have some stuff in common because I leak over into them (and sometimes they leak over into me) when I’m writing them.

44: Choosing An Idea      This is something I struggle with, really. My process is usually to try writing a bit of it, and if I hate it it’s probably not viable.

45: Harder or Easier While Stressed      It’s usually a harder to write when I’m stressed, and what I do manage to write doesn’t have as much quality.

49: Fast or Slow     When I’m in The Zone I speed thru, but it can take me a while to get started and I come up on blocks pretty often so I’m a slow finisher.

What tips do you have for an aspiring artist? i know everyones different and there isn't exactly some magical way to get there aside from hard work, but i never seem to be able to draw every day like everyone says. Thank you for being an inspiration regardless! Hope to one day be able to even draw a few your characters (with permission ofc)! Too shy to say this publicly tho, so anon til then!

it’s not about mindlessly drawing all day but about practicing to get better and enjoy what you do. I got to where  i  am drawing for my own enjoyment and my friend’s never to “Oh man i wanna be super famous” It was always to best myself and be at the same level of  people i admired  but because i thought that  if i was better, i was gonna like my own things more. and its true  i like my things more now, i think i am wonderful. 

So one tip is to always draw to enjoy yourself.  drawing is hard yeah, so is painting and playing an instrument. it takes time, but relax and do it for fun, not to impress people, for you.  Like old people that invest their time into going to learn how to paint, they enjoy it, it makes them calm. to me drawing is a sedative. 

another tip is to try and grow from each drawing, always try something new, don’t just stick to one thing unless well you are okay with that you do you. but i personally am always looking for new brushes, new coloring techniques and several other stuff. i try to go foward and find my own way  around things. 

Tutorials are there to help you UNDERSTAND  how something works. when you play a game the tutorial teaches you how to use something so you understand the command and then use it how you want, like a guide. Art tutorials are like that too, you use them to understand the mechanics and see how to do them. You can stik to them or experiment and eventually find what works FOR YOU because one tutorial on drawing a hand might  work different for another person or maybe it works fine but they also find their own way to draw hands and it goes perfect.  

another thing regarding tutorials and stuff is that one thing is the person that made it  and one thing is you, NEVER get frustrated if you tried doing something like certain artist and it did not turn out. You are you, them are them,  the artist has a skill they developed with long practise and they understand their own deal, you might try copying it and it might not turn out. Do not get down,  do it yourself, emulate and find your own style, what works for them might not work for you but always try to find the way to make it work so that it turns out FOR YOU.

do not get frustrated, no one is rushing you, comparing yourself to others will only hurt you. enjoy yourself “but i can’t not compare myself to others!!” well i don’t know im not a psychologist ;_; 

however it’s  good to have challenges, silently with others or yourself, i am always thinking “eh, i can do better /better than this person” and  i  sit down and do better or put my skill to surpass them in a way and be content with the result. dare yourself but don’t stress yourself.  

“But this 16 year old is better at them than drawing and  i am 21!!” so what? I saw a child play the bass better than me and that doesn’t stop me from keep learning how to play it and play.

the internet is hard, getting famous here takes time, if that’s what you’re looking for of course. When i hit 1k followers i couldnt believe it, specially since  i been in this god forsaken site putting my draws online since 2011. now with the amount i have i cannot believe it still,   but it feels good to have people that support you and like what you do. Just be patient.  

BUT i admit there are faster ways to gain traffic, such as, NSFW, fan art, furry creatures, monster girls.   The hardest mode, is trying to gain followers without doing any of these, sadly, i am weak as  i love nsfw and monster girls so i cant speak much. But yeah. 

vocal minorities are always going to be there, so getting negative comments is inevitable, i got a grip of myself  at the end  of last year but i admit i was very weak to it back then. But hey, who cares, you can be the freshest and sweetest peach in the world and there’s still gonna be people that hate peaches there’s nothing you can do but chin up and keep going. 

Tag everything, proper tagging allows others to see your work and thus they can find your pieces and apreciate them. 

Think twice before posting something. If what you draw can spark a controversy but you wanna show it anyway, stick to it, don’t censor yourself and delete it because of bad commentary, after all, you knew what you were doing and why you did it and wanted people to see it. 

you can do it, have fun, do not pressure yourself, it’s  ok to not draw every single day just do it when you can, try learning and growing from  each drawing, and do what is best for you and what works for you. chose what you want to draw and draw it. you have all the time in the world and i know you can do great things. I believe in you, we all do and most importantly, Love your art, love it with all your heart because you did it. I see my drawings from hen i was 11 and  i love them, i feel happy when looking at them,
