After doing some research on the types of pets people had in ancient Greece, I'd like to imagine that Helen is the sort of person who has a whole menagerie of birds — and she loves each and every one of them very, very much.

It fits well with her being good at mimicry, you know. Talking and imitating and singing with her beloved birds 💜

Once I got a bit experimentative it really came together. I'm happy with the outcome! ^w^#choosing what birds and how many was a challenge... in my mind Helen has dozens of birds and all sorts of species. truly a crazy bird lady.#but I decided to focus on a few for this. maybe another time i'll make a piece with a ridiculous amount of birds for fun >:) hehe #I cant remember the source but I know I read somewhere that people would specifically train magpies to say hello/greet guests #and I love that little factoid (and love magpies very much) so that was an immediate choice for me to feature here.#I also love doves and goldfinches. goldfinches sound so delightful and stand out so they were my 'songbird' choice.#and I'd like to imagine that one specific dove snuggles up on helen's shoulder all the time <3 #the only bird that's truly missing here is an indian ringneck parrot (which I initially wanted to put on the shoulder but changed my mind)#so if you're like me and watch too many parrot videos. just know helen has one of them that can't stop talking and posing lmao #capri_art

A little 15 min doodle but first post of the year has to be Bingqiu!

#hoot art #ok its time to get mushy in the tags because I doubt anyone would read them too closely #I’ve had severe art block for YEARS before I got into danmei in 2024 #and it wasn’t that my skill was gone it’s just that I thought nothing I did was good enough #I started reading danmei around the summer of last year and I got SO INSPIRED #I dived into the fandom side of things (I haven’t been in a live fandom in years) and was so excited about all the art people were making #and writing! and music! and animatics!#everything was so bright and colorful and beautiful #and everyone had such cool designs for these book characters that I’d grown to love #so I took a chance and doodled a little Luo Binghe and posted him on here #and I was so taken aback by how welcoming and sweet the fandom was #it made me wanna keep taking chances and posting my art— because I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept #that even if it’s not good enough for me #someone else may enjoy it #and ain’t it crazy that ive come to enjoy drawing again too #sure the interaction has been fun but it’s been even more fun experimenting with my style and experimenting with colors and rendering #and grayscale and angles #and composition and expressions #ahh!! art is so fun!! Can't help but imagine that in the Lucky Clover AU, if Frisk were to manage to sneak away and end up befriending Undyne and the skelebros whilst everyone in the Dunes is probably having a panic attack (maybe Flowey caused a distraction or something, like some scaffolding collapsing causing everyone to focus on figuring out how that happened, giving Frisk the ability to sneak away), by the time Martlet finds them they've already managed to make the Underground a bit safer for at least themself.

Doesn't stop them from being grounded though-

That's exactly the plot set up I had in mind for this AU!

Even though Frisk is under very strict rules by Clover to not leave the Dunes without them, Frisk is constantly wandering off (perhaps influenced by a certain someone...) and exploring the other parts of the Underground. This is how Frisk eventually meets Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, Alphys, and others! And yes, Frisk is always grounded by Clover once they're eventually found and brought home. Doesn't stop them from sneaking out again, though. Clover is getting a taste of their own medicine trying to control this kid LOL.

#this was brought to you by procrastinating on two other pieces!!!! i love diverting my attention to things that are familiar and comfortable #when i was making this i was telling my friend how i've drawn this guy like at least once per year most years since 2015 #i don't think i've ever posted a fullbody mtt to my current accounts but actually the way he's in here is... pretty different #from any of my past iterations #first time drawing him with noodle arms i'm pretty sure. and his facial features have completely transformed but that might also just be #a symptom of my whole artstyle or lack thereof #i realize that canonically he does have those extendo flexible arms but i've just been styling his arms the same way as i do his legs #for like. almost 10 years i guess. with like an elbow and elbow-length gloves. maybe i'll draw him again in the old style #i thought the noodle arms would be fun to try out this time.
