yeah! i haven't watched closely enough to be more than a vibe, not a lot of evidence, but sherlock's outfits get much more professional and formal over the years. by season 5 or so both he and watson mostly wear suits and button downs. occasionally she wears a dress still, mostly around the precinct, but i think the shift is interesting–in the earlier seasons she's much more likely to be in more colorful or casual clothes.

but even before she makes that shift, i think there's a slow process of sherlock going from ratty tshirts and jeans with a jacket thrown over to his button down, slacks and coat look. i do think that's watson's influence, at least a little. possibly connected to the very quiet arc he has over her telling him that it's worth it to be nice to their colleagues in season... two i think.

i also think that the clothes thing, the waking her up thing, and some of the other stuff is a sort of exchange for them; watson puts up with it at first because it starts off as sherlock trying to scare her off, and then imo it becomes a way to balance out how involved she is with very personal and sensitive details of his life. she knows about and is involved with his addiction and recovery, comes into his life without his permission and tells him what to do, and he picks out clothing for her and wakes her up with a trumpet.
