obligatory theory about the kyklos and what i think is happening.

literally every time i finish an episode i go and jot notes down in my lil mental notebook of theories and laugh like yuri in his lab

so i've seen this idea tossed out but no one really went in depth on why they thought it so i'm going to list off MY reasons why i thought this is what's happening.

fair warning: this is going to be long, i've got about five million thoughts on this and it's only going to get worse as more episodes get released. get comfy and grab a snack

i think mc and the ghouls are trapped in a time loop

it's a trope that when handled well can be really really cool, and with how many moving parts and ghouls there are to distract from what's happening, it's super plausible. the only reason i'm hesitant to say this is 100% what i think it is is because it's still only episode 16 and we know next to nothing about the clash and anything that happened last year. plus the game's only been out for a year, we've barely scratched the surface of the plot.

that being said, we're getting about 3-4 episodes per every couple months, which means by like episode 20-24 we'll be coming up on a year since mc was cursed. maybe. i'm bad at math. (EDIT: someone else did the math and it will probably be closer to 40 that we hit the year mark lmao) is the story going to be over then? i don't think so. i think the following chapters would follow us through the time loop as we finally work to solve it

if i had to guess, this is how i think the general timeline goes: mc, despite the ghouls best efforts and someones sacrificial jump into flames from a balcony, turns into the kyklos. to stop the teachers/school-aligned ghouls from killing her, someone sends her away--and accidentally sends her back in time instead. taiga, however, has been told by mc that if she were to turn, kill her before she hurts anyone. taiga goes back with her to stop her.

crazy concept: the one eyed sleeping beauty murder was the trigger event. the kyklos has one large eye. this part is still muddy given that we literally don't know shit about any of this, but i think it wasn't a one eyed beauty that was killed, i think the one eyed beauty killed someone while those other ghouls happened to be present. we got the five suspects based on them either being in the wrong place at the wrong time or by reputation (a la alan and jiro.) i think this is how zenji died as well, but i have zero basis for that other than vibes.

future!taiga continues to chase the kyklos, runs into his past self and explains (or maybe he's always known, or maybe whatever's going on with his brain makes him able to remember every loop, OR something is actively working against him remembering all of it) past!taiga does something that triggers the clash, and eventually, the kyklos finds her way to mc on the train. the following chapters would then begin to follow mc at the beginning of the loop again

this is literally all me guessing. i'll make an updated post once we finally know more about the clash and the one eyed sleeping beauty murders. and literally everything else smh

another quick note before i forget: i do think it's interesting that everyone who lost a day to the casino anomaly had their memories replaced of a girl in a tower in the woods. rapunzel reference? orrrrrr in early versions of the sleeping beauty tale, she was said to be in a lonesome tower waiting for someone to wake her up. coincidence? probably! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"how did we end up here?"

SUPER compelling that this is one of the opening lines. the whole intro is generally a vague "humans avoiding darkness" spiel, but i do personally think its alluding more to the coming together and working as a team theme than an actual darkness. to me it feels like it's implying (based on the story so far) that working together is the light that can drive away the darkness (her curse)

one of my big things that made me wonder right at the beginning was how it almost immediately dropped the line "if we could do it all again" (paraphrasing). the whole theme about doing it again and would we do it again kinda made me think repetition was going to be a theme in the story, but once i got a few chapters in, i was definitely hurtling towards the time loop theory.

mc starts off talking about how she's sad it's over and we come to see she's talking about a band breaking up, and one by one the group chat members leave until she's left alone with just mina.

now mina itself as a name is an interesting choice. it's a fairly international name with a couple different translations. one translation has it meaning love, one says it's the same word as a mockingbird (a bird that can imitate human sounds) and in japanese, mina is a name meaning lovely/beautiful while min-na is a term sometimes used to mean "all of you", like saying all yall in english. fun play on words there if the time loop theory is correct and the kyklos we see at the beginning is in fact mc (aka all of us)

mina's profile picture is also a red spider lily, commonly known in popular media as the death flower

it's often planted in graveyards to ward off evil spirits and help guide those who have passed to the afterlife. another meaning for the flower is reincarnation: yet another implication of a cycle.

(it's also a popular flower in hanahaki disease fics, which is a fic trope where flowers bloom in the lungs of someone whose love isn't returned, but that's unrelated)

actually now that i'm really staring at that picture, it looks more like a red surprise lily, which is even funnier imo. apparently it's just a sister flower of the spider lily

mina says it must be destiny and that she's been waiting to meet us. spooky. we haven't really seen any other anomalies do anything premeditated like that, they're all mainly reacting to their environment, other than mr long legs i guess. but his felt more like predatory i need to eat intent, not "i'm tracking down this specific person" type of deal. definitely correct me if i'm wrong on that, though. i'm super interested in the "intelligent" anomalies vs the reactive ones. i'll make a post on that later

i've seen a couple other posts talk about how kyklos means circle in greek (aka another point in the time loop basket) but it's also interesting to note that kyklos comes from kuklos, whose root word kukló was often used to describe something that encircles. broke out a couple of my old humanities research packets and found this:

"a group of people...positioned around a central point"

whether that's intentional or not, i do think it is interesting that the whole time loop could be centered on this group of people that are positioned around a central point: the kyklos and mc. everything always revolving around the main character and the curse that started it all.

almost immediately after, mc is swiftly taken to darkwick and told that she'll die in a year (which we later find out is a lie) and sent off to live her life

taiga is the most suspicious person in the WORLD to me. fuck the traitor shit i wanna know what taiga knows

our brief introduction of him (and a scene on campus) tries to convince us he's insane

fairly compelling

but it's in the small cut scenes we see with the other ghouls that really get me.

TAIGA knows something!! the second one really gets me, especially in the context of a time loop, and even more so if taiga is aware of the loop. the second screenshot reads to me as either he's 1. about to make a deal with either haru or whatever he's summoning with a coin, or 2. he's like "fuck it, i've seen this loop a hundred times. there's ways where they survive and there's ways where they die. pick one, we'll try it again and see if it changes anything this time."

i don't think he's actually lost his mind. i think he's putting up an act to throw someone off his scent (namely the traitor and whoever the traitor is working with.) i also get the feeling, especially after rereading the auction chapter, that there's something actively working against taiga having all of his memories. it might be the pact he made with his demon, but i almost wonder if it's someone else's stigma or ability preventing it. we don't know what all the ghouls can do yet, or even the teachers.

maybe it's the time loop itself that's keeping taiga from keeping all the timelines straight. maybe he's done this so many times he doesn't know what's real anymore. additionally, if you pick him in the beginning, this is what he says:

once again, i'm getting the vibes that he's trying to figure out what could possibly be different about this loop that might finally break us out of it.

anyways, those are my basic notes on why i think this is gonna center around a time loop. given that haku's flute can transport and subaru's stigma has to do with memories and we dont even know half of the stigmas yet, i think it's entirely possible. but we'll see!

As promised[and a little late], here's the intro for my Gamera vs. Zigra fancomic: Rapid Ascent! This sequence was done primarily as a style test, but it can be considered canon in this continuity. Apologies in advance for the image layout/formatting in the post, I know it's not the easiest to read. I'm still deciding where to upload the whole comic once it's done. I'll probably make it a downloadable PDF as well. eventually

a few extra notes about this sequence below:

So, the first slight difference between the og film and Rapid Ascent is Chikako Sugawara's occupation. She's a geologist on the moon in the original, in here she's still a geologist, but is working on a submarine instead. Unfortunately for her, the result is the same when it comes to the alien invader. This sequence takes place roughly a year before the main comic.

I'm still not 100% certain how much screentone im going to use, might have to go on a page-by-page basis. The interior of the submarine was quite detailed and im hoping that the rest of the backgrounds im going to have to draw wont take as long lol.

Also, just in case it needs to be said: This comic is in no way meant to be "better version" of the original film. I'm not making this to try to pitch myself as a better story teller than the crew at Daiei at the time. I just wanted to make a tribute to a film i really liked. ANYWAYS, I do hope it's comprehensible and enjoyable!! I'll probably be posting the covers soon.

Book Bingo Reading Updates: July Edition

I'm back baby!!! after not managing to fill a single prompt for @batmanisagatewaydrug's 2025 book bingo last month because I had exams going on, I managed to cross of 3 squares this month despite being on vacation, acting like a tour guide for my family members the entire past month and being in a reading slump. so like, i'm proud of myself. and of course, we're continuing our theme of filling this board with only Authors of Colour.

Also, 7 months in and we finally got our first BINGO!!! WOOHOO!!! I am feeling unnecessarily accomplished of myself. And now, without further ado, my usual reviews!!

Prompts Filled: Animal on the Cover, 2025 Debut Author, Published before 1950

Animal on the Cover: 'Cursed Bunny' by Bora Chung and transl. by Anthony Hur

This was a collection of short horror stories and anybody who knows me knows i fuck heavy with that shit. and the fact that it was written in an almost aesop's fables/fairytales -esque vibe, ugh i'm obsessed. There were a couple of the tales that i felt lost something in Hur's almost clinical translations, and I would be excited to see of they have some of the magic that fairytales usually have in the orignal korean. as always there were a couple hits and misses, but overall I'm glad i bought the book even though originally i was planning on reading a different one for this prompt. anyway, if you want to see my reviews of the individual stories, i'll eventually post them to my storygraph (which is linked in my intro)

2. 2025 Debut Author: 'If We Were a Movie' by Zakiya N. Jamal

This was a very sweet and light-hearted YA romance between fmc Rochelle and her academic rival/summer job boss Amira as they work together to save the struggling black-owned cinema theatre they work at.

This book was a fun summer romance, I’m not going to lie. I found the way Rochelle and Amira’s relationship progressed very realistic and handled maturely. Unfortunately I do think it was a bit to the detriment of the book because when I read romance, I read it for the *mess* and everything just felt a bit too rushed. Like irl, these two are handling their business exactly how you would hope two people would handle their business, I.e. talking it out and communicating. In a book, why are these 17 year olds acting like they’re 30? Where is the ✨DRAMA✨

Also the mystery just kind of fell little flat for me and was resolved just out of no where. I would have preferred if less time had been spent on the B-plot and more time on them actually interacting and building relationships with the community they want to get together to save Horizon. 

I must admit I do like the side characters, they’re stereotypical in the best ways and I’m kinda obsessed. Rochelle needs to spend less time explaining to the reader other people’s sexualities and focus on her own life though. Like girl, trust your audience!!!

Anyway, i'm just glad the kids actually have books they can see themselves in now, gods know i was forced to read enough white allocishet books as a child.

3. Published before 1950: Passing by Nella Larson

And finally, BINGO BABY! Published in 1929, this book follows Irene, a black women who is an affluent member of Harlem Society, her relationship with Clare, another black woman who married a racist white man and is 'passing' for white, and the complex way race interacts in their life. There is a lot going on in this book im not going to lie but dang she got straight to the point didnt she? Both Irene and Clare are light-skinned and can pass for white and yet they still chose such different lives for themselves and it inspires such jealousy, truly a grass in greener on the other side sort of situation. also, while it's not my preferred interpretation, i do see why certain readers came away with a more sapphic reading of the text.

Ehehehehe! I was wondering if Prince Jing was going to notice it, but him realizing he wasn't wrong with naming his fish Xiaoyu was cute. ALSO him clocking Li Yu hiding why he was there. I do hope everything eventually comes out- without fish bones and fish ash. p10

Li Yu trying to lie about where he lives LOL. Prince Jing gave him such an easy out to tell him the fish secrets, but nope. Li Yu will die on this hill. p10

Li Yu, my guy, I am begging you to think. Li Yu feels bad for freeloading as a human when he's really already been doing that in fish form. Also him wanting to essentially "pay prince jing back" for housing him even though the man owes him like two life debts for saving him and his family. silly fish! take the sugar prince! p12

"I have a fish. When I', not around , help me take care of him." ehehe Prince Jing trolling so hard. p12

The Third Prince better get his shit together. He was hand fed all of the information he needed and is still dragging his feet. p15

Why would he bring up the fish to her? I'm cackling though! He knows that the fish triggered this entire situation, and yet lol. [explained later but I didn't write it down lol- the emperor wants her to make up with the fish and Prince jing]. p16

The Emperor to Prince Jing: Bring your fish right now! Prince Jing knowing his fish is in man form: [Sweating]. p18

I'm convinced Wang Xi will get there, he's got to realize the situation and for sure will find out about the fish-man-fish situation. For now though, he will remain deeply confused about the disappearing adulterous concubine. p19

Fish sneezing ahahahah. When you can't rely on others, you have to sort it out yourself. Hopefully the sneezing plan works?! p21

Cute way to start the book!

Once thing I love about Danmei's is the way that the story is broken up and tends to seamlessly continue between books. It makes falling into the next arc so easy.

About Me!

Deadass forgot to introduce myself in my old intro, so let's do that this time.

My name is Madelyn, but most people on here call me Ain. I answer to either, so take your pick.

As my blog name suggests, I am a huge nerd. I've been writing since I was a youngster, and I assume/hope I'll be writing till the day I die. (When I say writing I do mean fantasizing about my characters and procrastinating doing any actual work.)

I mainly write fantasy or fantasy-esque stuff, usually with a splash of sci-fi and sometimes other stuff.

What's Your Story

What's Your Story is the project I'm currently working on. It's a fantasy/sci-fi series that explores how people's stories are interconnected, how actions have consequences, and how everyone's lives weave together to create the history of the universe.

The first book primarily follows Melantha Tollemache, a sickly young girl who cheats death with the help of a mysterious entity, and now has to learn not only how to use these powers, but why she's been given them. The story watches her grow and her world expand as she tries to find her place in it. All while the threat of cosmic war looms...

Appearances Are Deceiving is a high fantasy/political intrigue adventure, here's the introduction to it:

Kairna and Taren are twin siblings, and the top students of the prestigious Hornfel Academy, the best school in the world. However, with a new and rather strange Director recently being put in charge, the school's reputation may well be on the line. Without the protection of the school, things will go south for the twins fast, but something about the new director seems... off. Whose side are they on?

We All Lie Amongst The Thorns is a dark fairy tale retelling.

The story centres around Rosalie, a young woman who lives in the woods with her adopted mother. She knows she was abandoned by her parents, but her mother won't tell her why or who they are. She eventually decides to try and find out what happened for herself, leading her to be on her own for the first time, putting her at the mercy of the world her mother once protected her from.

Nearly Parallel Lives is a eclectic mix of genres blending together into a self indulgent fever dream.

Strange occurrences have been happening all over the world. Odd, seemingly unconnected events centred around people who have never met. But invisible threads are pulling these people together, as they struggle to figure out why they've been chosen for this unexpected adventure. Or were they chosen at all? Maybe it's all a coincidence. FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON- (shut up)

The Enchanted Forests

Fun little fantasy project inspired by Howl's Moving Castle and a weird dream I had.

The population is expanding, and the cities are expanding with it. They're beginning to encroach on the Enchanted Forests, sacred forests that previously humans never dared touch, and the forests protector, the sorceress Arcana is not having it. But when the media paints her as the villain and all the other sorcerers have long since gone into hiding, fighting against human expansion is becoming an increasingly daunting task, and at this rate the forests are going to be cut down despite her best efforts. Arcana needs allies, more sorcerers to join her cause. And with everyone else in hiding, it looks like she's just going to have to train them herself.

Survival is a Team Sport

Apocalytic sci-fi thing!

It started out as any normal day. Then the world ended. Okay not really, but if apocalypses exist, this is one. Survival Is A Team Sport follows high schooler Camryn Bird and his group of friends as they try to survive the chaos that has descended upon the world. Things like murderous bunny rabbits (Jasper and Zac, the only ones who watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail, were terrified), fog that makes you forget your name, and the sky randomly falling are all things these kids have to contend with as they try to find their families if they're still alive, and find out what caused this apocalypse.

Like A Movie

This is a romantic tragedy, also this is the only story I've introduced that doesn't have any fantasy elements in it.

The truth is, Lucian would love to "find someone", as everyone tells him he's supposed to someday. These girls seem very nice, but none of them really interest him, no matter how much they seem to like him. Does that mean he's a bad person? He's not sure, but one night after a particularly awkward date, he wanders into his favourite bar and encounters someone he's never met before. Usually Lucian's not one for socializing, but his name is Caspian and he's got the brightest smile, the most infectious laugh, and no one's ever prepared Lucian for this.

Twisted Inspirations

Woo! This one's new and different. I have no idea what genre you'd call it, but oh well.

The thoughts of a strange and reclusive young woman are written down for all to see. Follow her through her journey as she desperately searches for inspiration and keep her company. Something about this story is odd though. Different versions seem to be happening at once. Which one is real?

There is Something Wrong With This Town—Matt Sturniolo

Intro: Y/N who is 18, has been noticing how almost everything is going wrong in her life after her mom passed away. Her dad decided it was best to move away from the city and move to a small town. She’d never been in a small town before, let alone live in one. So it’s a big change. Continue reading to see what happens...

Warnings: Nothing much this is the first chapter, most first chapters are boring af, but other than that just backstory and plot. also this is a slow burn and gonna have a lot of angst in it.

A/N: FYI this is my first time actually posting a story of mine so keep that in mind while reading. also my grammar sucks sometimes so DON'T judge...anyways enjoy...

Chapter 1: New Territory Unlocked

“Home sweet home,” My dad says to lighten up the mood as we stand outside looking at our new house. The house is nice, it’s a two story house small but big enough, especially since there will be only two people living in the house.

“What do you think kiddo?” My dad glances over at me before looking back at the house. “It’s…nice, better than I expected that’s for sure,” I say kind of quietly not really interested in talking. “Damn!” My dad says looking at his phone all of a sudden and down the street, “Hun, do you mind walking down the street to find the moving truck, the driver is lost.” He rolls his eyes muttering something under his breath

“Um sure I guess, might as well look around while I’m at it,” I say not really serious.

I walk down the street to find literally nothing, no truck or even people outside. “What the fuck..” I mutter under my breath—, all of a sudden I hear a slam-type sound and I immediately look over and see a boy walking back inside, guess he was taking the trash out?

“Where the fuck is this goddamn truck,” I say out loud hoping no one heard, I mean no one’s even outside so doubt it—. I get to the end of a road and turn down the next street and what do I find? The fucking truck in a stranger's driveway — how damn hard is it to follow the GPS.

“Hey!” I kind of yell so the man can hear me through his open truck window. The man jumps a little at the sudden voice, “God you scared me.” He says putting a hand on his chest, as I look at him through the window. “Oh sorry, well um-my house is down the road,” I say opening the truck door because you got me fucked up if you think I’m walking back. “Oh okay,” he starts the truck and pulls out of the driveway, then drives down the road I told him to go down. “It’s that house” I point to my dad standing outside, “alright,” he says before pulling into the driveway.

“Finally” I hear my dad say as he walks to the truck.

Time skip—-(I’m not gonna put you through more of that)

I look around my room, it’s not big but it’s enough, the closet is a small walk-in closet. for the past few hours I've put up the bed and curtains along with some posters just so it's not boring for the night, the rest I will figure out eventually.

While putting up a poster with tape, my phone makes a notification sound, I finish putting the poster up, and then go to my phone thinking it's just one of my friends from the city.-- I see that it is a text from some girl on Instagram, someone I don't know.

"Hey, this is Jessie, you can call me Jess. I live right across from you, and I can see your window from mine-- wait that sounded like stalker vibes, anyways I just thought you seemed nice and we haven't had a new family in town for a few years so I just want to say hi."-- I read that wondering how on hell she even got my Instagram....and yeah she's correct she does sound like a stalker...

"Oh hello, I'm Y/N. and nice to meet you I guess" I text back.

She texted back almost instantly, and replied with, '" If you want I can show you around town before it gets too dark or just show you to the park."--weird to ask lowkey, but I mean I have nothing else to do besides my room and I don't want to do it anymore tonight.

"Okay sounds good just tell me the time I guess," I reply back and set my phone down, going to do something but right when I'm about to walk away I hear another notification sound,--damn how fast this girl gotta reply, I mean at least she ain' dry.

I pick up my phone and read what she said, "We can rn, if you are free ofc."-Oh didn't expect it to be now...but okay. I reply back, "Sounds good I will be outside in 10 I guess."- I reply back. I go to my closet, and get some comfortable clothes, and change, because I am in clothes that I wouldn't want to be seen in outside, I then put on some shoes and head downstairs. my dad went into town so he's not home at the moment but I doubt he would care, I will just text him if he is worried.

I get a text from her saying she's outside waiting, so I head to my front door and go out of the house making sure I grab my key on the way out and lock the door.--"Hey." Jess said when I closed the door to my new home, "Oh hey," I said back, "Okay so since it's almost dark, I was thinking I would just show you to the park and go from there. I mean there's nothing really to see of the town in the dark." I nod back and start to walk with her as she moves her feet forward to go to the sidewalk.

"Um so what brings you into town, like why did you move here?" ugh I was dreading that question since I landed a foot in this town..."Oh, nothing really.., My dad just thought it was best for us after everything happened in the city" I said back at her hoping she would drop it...

"Okay well maybe it was for the best I mean small towns mean fewer wild things right?"--maybe she was right but thank god she dropped that topic..." yeah I guess" I said back as we continued to walk down the sidewalk and saw the park in the distance. "oh well there's the park" she said while starting to walk a little faster-- dang must really like the park I think as I start to speed up too, but I mean me too.

We walk in silence as we finally make it to the park and go to the swings, there is a group of kids around our age I'm guessing, just sitting on the other side of the park but also kinda just joking around and running around. "who are they" I say not pointing at them but making sure she knows who I'm talking about. "Oh, that's a group you don't really wanna hang out with. but I mean if you do wild stuff I guess that's the group for you. I haven't really talked to them so I don't know much about them." she says back to me kind of quiet not wanting them to hear us talking about them.

"oh hey, I just remembered there's a party tonight, well there's one every Thursday and you so happened to move here this Thursday, I'm going and a few friends of mine, do you wanna come?"--Oh fuck a party?...why the one fucking day I move there's a fucking party.."No thanks and I should prob get home it's getting really dark." I'm not really a party person well I've been to them but never enjoyed them, and the last thing I need right now is to be around drunk high school kids. "okay well I'm actually gotta go to the party it's already been started since 7 so um be safe going home" she says and gets up and waves before walking away. I continue to sit on the swing and look at my phone.--Fuck its already 11 pm..how the fuck-,

I get up and walk down the street that has the back of my yard and just walk quietly- suddenly I hear a loud slam and a dog barking. what the fuck-, I look over after jumping a little from a sudden sound and see a boy that looks to be my age and holding a leash that is connected to a dog. "Trevor, calm down it's just some drunk girl" I hear him say--uh rude- "excuse me?" I say a little rudely "Huh" He says back. "I'm not drunk," I say back. "oh well sorry I just assumed you were,- wait I've never seen you around"

"Yeah I just moved here," I say normally after understanding he probably thought I just was walking back from the party or something. "oh well I'm Matt" I heard him say while he started coming closer. "I'm Y/N nice to meet you I guess" I reply back but he gives me a weird look "What?" I say "Oh..nothing just don't really hear a lot of people around here say nice to meet you. we kinda just are a close town so everyone most likely knows everyone or at least knows of them" He says back. "Really?... that's weird. I'm from the city so you really don't know anyone unless you have spoken to them..."

"So what are you even doing out this late if you're not drunk?" he questions me,- damn does everyone outside at night drunk here or something.. "oh I just was with someone, they showed me to the park a while ago but we got carried away and it's late now," I reply back.

"Yeah guess so...um-well I gotta walk my dog so have a nice night" He replies back to me,- thank god it was getting awkward...but he was nice I guess.."oh-uh you too," I say back and walk away to my house.

He lives right down the street from me, he looks like the guy I saw putting the trash out but I don't think it was him, his hair was a little longer.

I walk into my new home through the back door and I see no trace of my dad but I do see a piece of paper on the oven as I walk past "There's pizza in the oven...Love-dad" the note reads, I look in the oven and see the pizza. I take a slice and walk upstairs guessing my dad went to sleep, which is good. hopefully he can sleep without having to remember everything that happened in a room now that it's a new room and house...

A/n: The first chapter is done, lowkey kinda boring but does give the plot something at least. anyways other than that butter me up and call me a biscuit.

tlou hbo season 2: episode 4 thoughts

wowwwww i think i might be having a good time now, you guys. who knew! at this point I'm just along for the ride and my beef is my beef but i can appreciate a lot of what they are doing. this post is delayed cause i could not be bothered last night but here we go.

spoilers for tlou hbo and tlou part ii below.

EPISODE 4: DAY ONE

GOOD -i am immensely compelled by the 2018 flashback (minus that cameo). the backstory of seattle that we get in day 2 of the game is some of my favorite environmental storytelling -- how the regular people didn't like FEDRA but liked the WLF even less, how the WLF capitalized on FEDRA's failures but ultimately was just another form of martial law, etc. Jeffrey is as good as it gets, and Craig is smart to use Isaac more. I find his turn interesting and this idea that they are pushing of the end of the world just being a cycle of us vs them that everyone is caught in even if they know they're caught in it. -loving the sets. weston's, the city landscape, the rainbows, the tank, the music store! i could go on. i am replaying part ii along with the show and just did some of day 1 so it was a delight to see all of those things. -take on me my beloved.......if i ever were to lose you, how i miss you. -again with this Isaac focus! i think it's really smart. i think the only way to make the wlf and abby's eventual defection interesting is for us to learn about this place that has shaped her so heavily. the torture was perhaps the most difficult part of ths show to watch thus far, frankly, but it also raised some really interesting questions about faith and the power it gives people. the seraphite had such faith that he became useless to Isaac because he was not going to give in -- where else in this story do we see such blind devotion and the places it can take them? *cough*. i don't want to give craig too much credit but i think this is a good theme to be running with. -the tv station!!!!!!!! arrows!!!! rip leah you don't exist here but this whole sequence was fantastic. as someone who plays no return to destress, the set here was great. the bodies, the seraphite intro for dina and ellie, the sneaking around! exactly like stealth play in the game. ellie's kill and the neck stab! i was giggling. it's just so cool to see shit like this play out on screen. -the flaressssssssss. god, the subway was just so beautiful. i loved the way it looked and felt and the music. -saving dina with a bite! i wondered how they'd do this reveal (though it does seem like we will be getting spores anyway) and this makes sense. damn the bite looked painful. -the theater. again with these sets! loving loving loving them so far. -okay. dina and ellie in the theater. this whole conversation about ellie's immunity is the first time that HBO!ellie and dina felt like...an ellie and dina that worked for me, even though the set-up of this confrontation is totally different. the mannerisms and panic and exasperation from bella really clicked. and though this dina is different, isabela really took the episode for me in this scene. i said to my friend oh, she's Acting. the fear, the shaking, the tears! i find the way HBO!dina switches between being extremely competent and practical to being silly and flirty very interesting but she really sells it for me. and god, some of these shots were just amazing. the tears and the lantern! -and, finally. i forgive craig for that tent scene. do i think we needed that? no. BUT. LETS GO LESIBANS LETS GO. get fingered with those dirty-ass hands! kiss!!!! KISS! and not for nothing i liked that dina got to explain herself, even if i think we didn't really need this absent homophobe mother. we've got one already and his name is seth! but, wow. the elation i felt. also, ellie was funny as fuck here. more on this scene in the next section

IFFY -what the FUCK is josh peck doing here. i was so taken out of it i did not know what was happening for like, 2 minutes. i honestly couldn't tell if i was making it up. i guess if they wanted us to hate him and everyone in that truck, they succeeded. but, literally, why. -bro, would a pregnancy test even work. i know she took like 5 of them but, can someone fact check that one -dina's sixth sense is really funny to me? i like it in abstract, like it's cool that she's good at this, but also i think it's at odds with how i sometimes feel about her and ellie's dynamic in combat. more on this later. -okay but does ellie actually want a kid. i don't feel sold on the idea of her being that excited given the circumstances. i feel like the pregnancy reveal in the game had a lot more weight and her frustration felt really valid if harsh, so while it was kind of nice to see her be excited for something i was a little like....okkkkkkaaaaaay. the dialogue was funny, though. we're having a baby. so we're all having a baby. I'm gonna be a dad. it fit for HBO!ellie, and that's what I'm watching, so i really should stop complaining. -i'm interested in ellie wanting dina to stay. it's different now. removing the obstacle of dina being pregnant on the road and physically unwell because of it makes things a little murkier -- i wonder if she will become tired/unable to fight eventually, or if she'll get injured. because i think so much of the downward spiral ellie will find herself in is because she goes to the hospital alone and kills nora, etc. i guess jesse has to show up at some point, too! i wonder how that'll go over -- i do like this idea that ellie has plans for the three of them to be doing the kid thing together after seattle, since that'll just. really hurt. when he dies.

BAD -please for the love of god can we get dina a hair tie. she has the most beautiful hair and 2023 curtain bangs but my god. please. she's soaked by rain and has been running from infected in a dirty subway and stayed up all night to watch ellie maybe turn into a zombie and yet she's freshly blow-dried. PLEASE. -okay, i have some beef with the way dina and ellie are written (we knew this). while i think it's fitting for the style of the show and the characterization, i think it's now coming out specifically in the way they are in combat situations. and i just don't like it! i think it's kind of weird! they are just...idiots, sometimes! and other times they are capable! i know this is like, how people are, but the immaturity thing comes back. i just don't believe that these young women are so unable to handle themselves that they make mistakes like this -- or potential mistakes. ellie wanting to go to the tower and dina telling her it's a trap, etc. how is ellie that dumb? i know she's motivated, but something about ellie is that she's smart. she's good at this. and i like that dina is her grounding force but to constantly be guiding her this way feels a little much. i just don't have a sense of the trust between them and their actual ability to get shit done? am i making sense is this dumb -why does dina have feathered brows. isabela is so beautiful but guys come on -he taught you well. he did. okay. i hated this, sue me. i just hate the way that we're talking about joel and ellie's talking about joel and dina is talking about joel. it lacks impact because of the way we don't know how they parted -- that they were talking but fighting and joel was being bratty frankly and ellie is just...lying to herself about how it all went? i don't know. and dina god love her but please. i get that there is shared grief there but i just like, don't see what the payoff is.

after graduating high school, i moved to syracuse from [cr home town] when i was 19, and i have been working at the trexx nightclub for almost 3 years now as a full time drag performer

my dad is finn shaikh (née frost), he is a painter in his late 40s. his ex, sutan amrull (or aka raja gemini) is also my father. raja and finn dated in the late 90s, until they eventually broke up 2 months before finn found out he was pregnant with me. finn never told raja, and moved back to [cr home town] after the break up and before he found out he was pregnant.

when i was 6, finn met (my now other parent,) gabriel shaikh. he's in his mid 40s and is a teacher's assistant at an elementary school. he was in a previous marriage, but his wife divorced him after she had an epiphany; she decided life was too short to live in a small town her whole life, so she wanted to start fresh: without gabriel and kathryn.

kathryn is my older sister, and she is in her mid 20s. she is also a drag performer, and she lives in new york city. neither of us know that the other one is also a drag performer, (which is very awkward when we see each other on set during the 1st episode after everyone de-drags—)

Thanks for your patience! I had some stuff crop up IRL this week that kept getting in the way of my chapter review but we're so oshi no back

Chapters Since The 143 Kiss Happened And Went Entirely Unacknowledged And Unaddressed Count: 12

Aqua Hoshigan Status: White

i can't believe toxic yuri was the real core theme of this manga all along

With the long road to revenge seemingly conquered, Oshi no Ko eases us into a bit of a false high before the real finale comes barrelling in. As with 152, it feels like we're tying off a number of arcs that have lasted through the series, with certain characters getting what is clearly supposed to be their big emotional resolutions… and unfortunately, as with 153-4, while a lot of these beats are satisfying on paper, they suffer a lack of buildup that makes them ring a bit hollow. OnK's clumsy handling of certain characters during the Movie Arc has really come back to bite it during the finale, leaving me feeling like a lot of the emotional payoffs for them are undercut and the character work they're doing doesn't have the groundwork it needs to properly resonate. I defo didn't hate this chapter like some folks seemed to, but it has some pretty substantial issues in terms of micro and macro storytelling I am compelled to talk about. This is one of those chapter reviews I think comes across way more negative than it necessarily is lol but man did this one give me a headache…

To start things off, the thing that initially delayed this review: page fucking one!!! By total coincidence, this was the first chapter in basically forever where I didn't get a chance to look at the JP raws until like two days after it dropped and as such I was ripping my hair out trying to figure out who the narrator was on page one - the use of 'Mama' made me wonder if it was Ruby, but the visual flow of the page is much more biased in favor of Aqua and I probably don't need to tell you how fucking huge it would be for Aqua to have called Ai that for the first time!!! However, based on the speech patterns of the speaker in Japanese and the way subsequent pages flow from this intro, I'm pretty settled on it being Ruby - this chapter is a sort of closing of the book on her involvement in the revenge play or as my friend Mala put it, it's Ruby's homecoming so to speak. And like… honestly, thank god lol.

I get a lot of Ruby fans have wanted her to be more involved in this side of the story for a good while but I think the Black Hoshigan Ruby arc playing out like it did made it pretty clear that Ruby as a character is not super well suited to playing a role in the revenge half of OnK in the way that Akasaka wants it to be written. Not just that, but her actual post-BH characterization in relation to this arc has been such a wet fart that I really think it has taken away a lot more than it has added to her arc.

Not only that but… most of it didn't even happen onscreen lol! Not only did we get that absolutely baffling speech in 147 where she literally looked into the camera and Explained With Her Words the character arc she was supposedly having this whole time (just offscreen and nowhere the reader could see) but we now get Aqua going "well ruby decided to forgive him so it is what it is i guess". It feels so limp as a reason for him to have flipped on a dime like he did, especially when we still haven't fucking seen this supposedly lifechanging performance of Ruby's!!!! SO many characters have the resolutions to their Ai-adjacent arcs connected to how Ruby chose to play Ai in the movie but we're not actually seeing it. We're just sort of talking around it and having it exposited to us. I want to assume this is setup for us eventually seeing it ourselves but like… at this point, IS there any point to us revisiting the movie's content? Everything we might have learned from it has already been addressed by characters Telling Us To Our Faces How It Made Them Feel And Gave Them Therapy so it would ultimately be superfluous.

God. I hate still bitching about the Movie Arc now we're out of it, but it really is the albatross around the neck of this finale. So many of the issues littered through these last ten or so chapters are the result of the Movie Arc's fumbling and misuse of the cast and its failure to establish the emotional throughlines that should have been tied off by these chapters. I keep feeling like I'm repeating myself when I talk about XYZ Narrative Beat not being bad on paper but being less effective than it should do because of lacking underlying foundation but it really is the one central thing plaguing this arc right now.

i get what you guys are going for but. seeing aqua just let kamiki walk away when he has definitely killed people is really funny.

The twins' return to Miyako is another moment that I like in theory but honestly just feels frustrating. It's been over 25 chapters - a week short of an entire year since 125 came out where Miyako lamented her inability to reach the twins like a 'real' mother would and this thread was immediately dropped like a rock. She had zero involvement in the Movie Arc even during parts it was straight up absurd that she was not at least reacting to the events going on, didn't have any reaction to the movie or like… anything going on that could have more organically lead to this development.

I also have to say. The twins returning to Miyako performing this Snapshot of Aesthetic Motherhood (as u/DeliSoupItExplodes on the OnK sub put it) felt kind of. Weird and even a little icky to me in a way I've been struggling to articulate. Just that it felt extremely on the nose and kind of. eeeh.

that said. i won't pretend i'm not 4x critically weak to an 'okaeri' / 'tadaima' exchange at the end of a long quest or journey…

For all my complaints about the surrounding context, this scene in isolation is pretty much the one part of this chapter that just uncritically works. It's hard not to read it as a parallel to Miyako offering to adopt the kids in chapter 10 - except there, Aqua refuses to step into his new family. Here, Miyako pulls him into the embrace and the two of them finally engage not as peers but as a mother and son, as they've needed to do all this time. Her words here are so lovely and so, so sincere that it's really no wonder Aqua breaks down in tears. As much as I've bitched about the lacking work in his arc across the last major chunk of chapters, it's nevertheless been incredibly cathartic to see Aqua finally start letting down his walls, believing in his future and letting people love him. I just wish it had the buildup to really land.

also the twins just… still have not had a real conversation or interaction about literally anything lol.

Ichigo's back…! I already aired my major complaint about this scene vis-a-vis Ruby but I imagine this is the last time we're going to get a real Moment with Ichigo so I might as well get this off my chest now: it was and continues to be utterly bonkers to me that of the characters we saw having Feelings about the 15 Year Lie cast screening, Ichigo was not one of them. And it's even more bonkers that we got this whole bit waxing poetic about fucking Kaburagi and how he feels soooo bad about Ai when like… I'm sorry, but Kaburagi's feelings about Ai are so low on my list of priorities as to be functionally irrelevant. Quite frankly, he does not matter and it's INSANE that the story gave this misty-eyed moment to him and not Ichigo - you know, the agent of the industry that went on to exploit and kill her, her literal, actual dad whose guilt over what happened to her made him ghost his family for nearly twenty years? Can you imagine what an insanely powerful moment of resolution it would've been for that moment of Kaburagi addressing Ai through the 15YL poster to have gone to Ichigo instead?

I also have to note this weird ongoing thread of 'the Dome' being framed as Ai's dream that Ruby is inheriting when it, uh, patently was not! I'm sure she felt some pride in her success but all she herself said on the matter back when it came up was that she didn't get what a big deal it was but that since everyone else was happy, she'd be happy too. I initially took this to be laying the groundwork to disprove this idea and make the characters work out what Ai really wanted in her heart of hearts but now the narrative seems to just be uncritically treating this as a value neutral fact. So… who even knows lol.

Short hair Akane returns…! I don't imagine it was planned, but it's a cute coincidence that she cut her hair in the manga right around the time anime Akane grew hers out for season 2. I've always liked short hair Akane best so this was a nice surprise…

I have to say it was uh, really funny to see so many people get so shocked and mad when Akane talked about 'imitating Hoshino Ai' and screaming that this was a retcon or ruining Akane's character when like… was this really news to you guys??? Even before she grew her hair out, she flipped her bangs to go in the same direction as Ai's as soon as she started acting as her and she was popping hoshigans all over the place when she was getting her career off the ground… like, seriously, was this really a shock to people???

Anyway uh. Vindication for me from this scene!!! I've been pointing out for over a year now that we should be very cautious about taking it at face value that Hikaru killed Gorou and Yura because the story has been very delicately implying that to be the case while avoiding confirming it outright in a way that reeked of a red herring to me. That combined with his failure to even mention these two victims while 'fessing up to Aqua really raised some additional red flags for me and finally, we see Aqua confirming that no, Hikaru was not the one person behind everything, Light Yagami style and the final boss of the series seems set to be B-Komachi's former Queen of Smiles. Fuyuko Niino.

And Iiiiiiiii… feel very uneasy about this twist!

First of all; I have to acknowledge that nope, we have no fuckin clue how either Aqua or Akane figured this out but we'll probably get the exposition in that regard over and done with next chapter. Also something a lot of people caught is that Ryosuke is referred to with a different name here - Sugano vs Kaihara, which was used during the Movie Arc. I've heard this called out as a mistake/retcon and it could be, but tbh I'm inclined to think it's just that Ryosuke's name was changed for the movie, since a point is made about needing everyone's permission to include them in the movie and they, uh… can't exactly ask Ryosuke!

But… back to the real point here.

Nino has been one of my favourite OnK characters since I first read 45510 and every subsequent expansion on her character and her relationship with Ai has only made me more invested in her. But the story setting her up as the final villain here is… it leaves me feeling a little cold and very uncertain about how it'll go.

First off, the framing of Nino on these last two pages is just so overwrought that it's a little ridiculous lol. The image of her squatting in her filthy room, listening to old B-Komachi tracks and staring at a poster of the old group with all the other members but her and Ai aggressively scribbled out… it feels downright parodic to an extent that I think honestly makes Nino that much less nuanced and human by its inclusion alone.

Like… a big part of what I loved about Nino's inclusion in the story and how her relationship with Ai was framed was that it was messy and honest in a way that felt like it wasn't judging Nino herself or making her out to be a villain. Her and Ai's relationship breakdown was a two-sided failure of communication spurred on in large part by Ai's own avoidance and inability to have frank, sincere discussions with the people who cared about her. Nino's tangled up feelings of admiration and desire, envy and resentment, love and hate were not flattering but they felt so real and so human. She was a young girl put into an impossible situation and without the power to change the invisible dynamics of the systems around her, she lashed out at the person in front of her that she could see. The impression I always got was that part of what so deeply fucked up her feelings about Ai was her lack of closure - that she had never gotten to say sorry or patch things up. That she had screamed I wish you'd die at someone she loved and then she fucking died. No wonder she was a mess.

All this though… maybe I'm overreacting when we're just a page and a half into this reveal but again, the framing here really does feel so exaggerated and shallow. It feels like it's falling into the trap OnK previously fell into with the GRSR relationship where it attempts to amp up the drama by massively overexagerrating the emotions at play, blowing them up to their hugest possible extreme and letting all nuance and subtlety get lost in the noise. Ultimately, this will all come down to execution and while it's possible for AkaMengo to get us back on track with the Nino I already liked… idk. Like I said. I'm uneasy.

I also can't let it go unsaid - accidentally or otherwise, the framing of Nino here leans extremely hard into the stereotype of the 'psycho'/predatory lesbian and I don't think I need to explain why that sucks donkey nuts, especially in the midst of a manga that is so insufferably hetero at all other times.

Hey there, it's Pilot. As much as you all probably want to see me criticize things, I'm thinking that it's best if I lay off what I want to say for now since I'm still trying to get better and recover now that I have a support system and other things that make me happy that I'd like to focus on.

I'm still not in the best state,as of writing this post, and I've realized a lot more things about the trauma I experienced as a middle schooler (which I know that Mel and her fans are probably going to use against me, even though it's really just me trying to be transparent about things in the way I'm able to, hopefully not, because that'd be awfully peachy, huh?)

So for now on, this blog will be on an indefinite hiatus, that is until I feel ready to start talking about Shadow's Colours and Mel again. It's really the best I can do for now, constantly talking about this stuff isn't really healthy for me and all it's been doing is keeping me pissed off, if you get what I mean.

So will I be back? Yeah, eventually, if I feel like it, if I do, I might be much calmer considering I've held onto a lot of rage towards a lot of people and things, and it's not good for me to hold onto that feeling of being seen as the constantly angry trans man who talks about Mel. (Yes, I am a guy. Kinda my fault I didn't put the pronouns on my intro post, but whatever.)

Speaking of Mel... hello there, you may be possibly reading this through a fan or a friend (either way you're still probably gonna be reading this regardless,) and as much as I really do not like you or your story in the slightest, if you wanna have a little party about it on your next stream with your friends or whatever, fine, I honestly could give less of a damn, because I'm still not sorry for talking about your story in the light that I did (if you're gonna complain about it, at least I'm being honest instead of saying shit like 'I'm sho sowwy but THEY did THIS-', yeah? Hope that says something at least.)

And trust me, when I say that I'll be back on my shit eventually, boy do I mean it. See ya when times aren't so rough nowadays pals, take care!

I survived getting half my sleeve lined but boy am I sore. Tattoos on your hand are the absolute pits. Like no joke, hand tattoos are rough my guys. 10/10 do not recommend, but I'm doing it because it looks cute LOL.

This tattoo will be a tea themed sleeve. Featured on this half: hibiscus, chamomile, green tea leaves, raspberries + raspberry leaf, and lemons. I have another appointment in December and January to get the shading done but for now just lines!

I did not have tea with this chapter but that is okay- let's get into the notes!

Plalipian Princess Graphic Novel Book Cover!

In about a year, Juniperetta Stellae is being sent off to the Plalipian Royal academy. Here, she will join other country’s heirs, prepare for her eventual Queen-hood, and officially gain her title of “Princess”. Sounds great right? Well it’s the place her step-father had schooling, and where her mother recommends (demands) she go, so l guess she’s attending whether she wants to or not.

Wanting to prove her independence, she sets off to do something no Plalipian has done in over 70 years...leave the planet. To which she immediately gets horribly lost. Crash landing on Earth and meeting a curiously hidden town of people, she now has to get back home to her responsibilities. But after a frightful attack by a creature the Plalipians believed to be myth, Juniperetta quickly puts her school preparations on hold. Along with her newfound friend Gill, she sets off to uncover the truth behind these so-called “space sirens”.....and maybe do some meandering here and there. I mean... the academy is a long ways from now, she’s got time, right?

I'm curious about the cast. Can you tell us more about them?

I’m so sorry this answer comes so late. One of the reasons for that is that, while I’ve had a good idea of the main cast and their personalities etc. from the get-go, things do change and shape as I write and I didn’t want to give out a bunch of information that I’d later change haha.

But at this point I feel like I’ve done enough work on them individually to be able to give a proper answer!

I’ll be including the characters that are set as “main cast” in the intro post (Cirern, Muir, Wren, Astra, Azora and Kirin) plus 3 additional characters that might end up being part of the main cast. Or not, I’m not sure yet. All I know is that they will appear, be important to some part of the story and that at least one of them will have a romance route option.

I’ll also include which characters are romanceable 😊

Cirern

Cirern might seem distant, coming and going on his own terms and keeping his interactions with the MC as short as he can. But like anyone, he has certain fondness for things and might end up saying more than he planned to when faced with particular questions or observations.

During his years at court, Cirern was known for being brilliant and polite, with an arrogance that would shine through only among his closest. He was seen either as a leader nor a follower, and luckily lacked the ambition that might otherwise make him an open enemy to Aíos’ crown. But little did those people know that his ambition was merely well hidden.

Those who knew him would describe him as lively with sudden bouts of melancholy, of thriving among people until he’d wordlessly withdraw without explanation. When the MC meets him, little seems to remain of the man he once was described as. But spending 19 years in someone’s presence is bound to draw out sides you might not expect to ever see.

Muir (RO)

When the MC first meets Muir, he is a dreamy child with curious eyes that seem to hold the universe itself. But as Muir settles into his skin those qualities begin to dim, and his strange sense of wonder turns into awkwardness and uncertainty, and eventually hardens him into a stoic and quiet adult.

Muir is simultaneously hardened to the outside world and very new to it. He doesn’t relish the prospect of talking to strangers or getting involved in business that doesn’t have to do with his and the MC’s goal. Your relationship with him is shaped and explored in chapter 1 and continues from chapter 2; it can be close or distant, but there is something inherent in his existence that ties him to you regardless of how either of you view each other.

Wren (RO)

Wren is a student at the Institute of Arcane Arts and is recognized by many of its teachers as one of its most promising minds. They come from a line of respected spellweavers who have become one of the most reputable houses in Aíos even with their shrouded and mysterious history.

Wren themself, while armed with a sharp mind that’s been honed by years of diligent study, lacks the experience of life outside of high, safe walls – both the walls of their family home and those belonging to the Institute. They would rather spend more time thinking than doing and is not always tolerant of people who can’t see things from their point of view. Sometimes they try to be suave but immediately end up cringing at their own comments.

Azora (RO)

A young woman with a fascination for the arcane – moreso because of what it could do for her and her cause than any interest in the arcane itself.

Azora embodies many traits that humans are looked down on for by the elves – impatience and impulsivity, for one. But she is likewise willing to learn and holds strong beliefs that fuel her decisions. Most would call her charming albeit stubborn with a self-sacrificial streak when it comes to the things she believes in (for better or for worse).

She struggles with reconciling what she has been taught with what she comes to learn, what that means for her perceived purpose. Her own mind has made her its enemy, and she often relies on others to a potentially harmful extent when doubt creeps in.

Kirin (RO)

Kirin is quiet as a shadow and moves much like one, too, walking in and out of your life as he pleases. He is devoted to his beliefs and for all intents and purposes, he seems devoted to serve you, as well.

He is practical but also idealistic when it comes to his faith and what he does for that faith. But the nature of his order is vague and difficult to grasp for someone not directly linked to them.

Kirin’s personality is hard to pin down since he seems to hide much of it beneath his purpose, just like how he hides his face behind his mask. He is calm, though; sometimes eerily so, and often finds amusement in situations where people might find such amusement distasteful. (Although there’s much more I could share, I can’t do it without spoilers, sorry!)

Astra (RO)

As a vampire, Astra can be described as having little regard for mortal lives, and it’s not beyond her to manipulate and scheme to nudge things in the direction she wants them to go. Sometimes that means feasting on the blood of the unsuspecting, and sometimes that is extended to a grander vision and goal.

Although she can be cruel, she is also fiercely loyal to those she’s close with and trusts. Beneath her exterior, something darker and more unpredictable simmers, though she rarely allows that side of her to show.

Rhalyf (RO)

Rhalyf is an Ekkeran hunter from the far north. His job is to track down unsanctioned spellweavers and to protect people from forces of magic that would do them harm.

Most view ekkerans as a bitter, cold people, but Rhalyf is quite the opposite. The hardship he has endured has only strengthened his belief in trying to create a kinder world. And to him, that means exterminating cursed magic, including yours.

Eéithn

Pixies like Eéithn is a rare sight in Aíos’ so called civilized parts. A person who encounters a pixie might count themselves lucky to experience something most could only imagine, but such triumph would be short-lived if they’re not careful when dealing with pixies and their love for trickery.

Whether Eéithn is different from his/her/their fellow pixies or embodies all the same qualities that the stories warn about is something the MC will have to determine for themselves. He/she/they can seem as sweet as he/she/they can seem cruel and might cooperate one moment only to switch allegiances the next.

One thing is for certain, though; like most living creatures, he/she/they is desperate to survive.

Okay so, the series you're going to be hearing me talk about the most is called What's Your Story. It's a long series with an undetermined amount of books in it.

What's Your Story is a shifting pov series that follows the main characters through their lives and how they get turned upside down, eventually showing how everyone's stories tie together. WYS has the endless cosmos as its setting, and its eye is fixed on the Organization, a group made up of the most powerful and the most evil, bent on bringing everything under their rule. This cosmic war is the backdrop for the dramatic lives of our little freedom fighters, most of which just want to survive with their worlds intact.

Kairna and Taren are twin siblings, and the top students of the prestigious Hornfel Academy, the best school on the planet. However, with a new and slightly strange Director recently being put in charge, the school's reputation may well be on the line. Kairna and Taren are orphans and the rarest subtype of elf, one that's often hunted down for their power. Without the protection of the school, things will go south for them fast. You follow them as they try to figure out what this new director's deal is and help him retain control of the school.

This is a dark fairy tale retelling that combines several tales into one. The story follows the main character Rosalie (Sleeping Beauty) as she tries to discover who she really is. She goes on a mission to find others who have been unjustly cast out by the kingdom to help her bring it down.

Like A Movie

Like A Movie is your stereotypical romance novel, except it's written from the perspective of the stereotypical tall dark handsome love interest. The problem? Said love interest is not at all interested in any of the girls he's "supposed" to fall in love with. He starts to believe that he's simply not capable of love, until he meets someone new. A young man with a beautiful infectious smile. Maybe he was just looking in the wrong place after all.

Working title: Madness Heals All Wounds

This is a surrealist story that is both cozy and eerie. The main character is a lonely author who is firmly convinced that she is slowly going mad. The story follows her through her daily life, leaving the reader to decide whether or not these strange events really happened, or are just a product of the author's growing insanity. The story has elements of loss and dealing with grief, found family, and learning to live with oneself. This one is very personal and almost an autobiography of sorts. It'll be the last thing I do.
