Though the red bundle of joy was giddy now, you knew it was only a matter of time until it got hungry...

"What are we meant to do with it..?" Noli asked quietly, watching as the baby held onto 007's fingers with glee. It honestly melted your heart a bit.

"I say we keep it." You state bluntly, surprised eyes meeting your own as you went to quickly explain yourself. "Think about it. If we drop it off somewhere else it would probably reach the same path as us if it survives anyways."

The two of them gave each other an unsure look before you gently lifted the child out of 7n7's arms with a huff. "I'm not saying we'd be great parents or anything but it'd definitely be better than the foster system or death." Your tone was firm but they could tell you were empathising with that little red face giggling up at you.

Maybe you were trying to prove something to yourself. That you were better than your family? Maybe that you can actually take care of something meaningful?

Whatever, it wasn't like either of them could say no by the time you started cooing at the baby all motherly.

"Heh, guess you're right." 007 perked up first, getting you to smile a bit more.

Wether it was to make you happy or they actually liked the idea, you couldn't care less. What mattered was that this child was safe with you.

"We should totally call it after the c00lgui." You commented with a chuckle, having Noli cackling and 007 trying to suppress his laugh.

"Yeah- no- this is good- So c00lkidd?" He suggested, letting out a laugh at your grinning nod. It was silly, it was unusual...

It was perfect.

For once, 007 probably appreciated being an outsider.

It meant more time with you. More time with Noli.

You were quick to figure out a spot to all meet in where neither killers nor survivors would even hear you.

It was perfect, especially whenever Noli decided to bring along c00lkidd and you could just talk for a while.

CK loved you. He loved the idea of having a big family like this where you could be his mom. You played nice and fair and actually managed to tire him out at times.

Though he didn't understand why it was such a taboo to play tag outside of rounds, he trusted your explanation that it was because it was less fun with only you four and the other survivors wouldn't be willing to listen to you or 007.

And CK knew the other killers were even less willing so...

But you'd always promise that once you get back home, you'll be the best mother to c00lkidd. And he took it as a good promise to make before saying his goodbyes and waiting for the next round.

so what's your take on the kris hand severance prediction

Hmmmm...

So my first thought when I saw all of Susie and Noelle's 'Severed Hand' Dialogue in Chapter 4, is that it's already very applicable to what's going on.

Like... the irony of the situation is that Noelle and Susie are basically right. There is, in fact, a 'severed' independently-operating Human organ acting antagonistically to it's supposed owner in the basement.

We even started possessing Kris' SOUL when they woke up one morning.

So maybe, if The Severed Hand already is kinda equated to the SOUL... maybe it will end up being our 'Vessel'?

Like, Kris ends up losing a hand and then we end up possessing it. Essentially giving ourself a body to interact with the world and finish the Game while also freeing Kris from our constant control.

(To be honest, I was never totally into the idea that we'd just track down the Discarded Vessel and possess it. It just seemed like a far too simple and clean a solution to the complex moral problem at the center of the game. The Severed Hand is at least a more interesting and freaky idea. And since while the Hand has a bit more ability to interact with the world than the disembodied SOUL does, but not as much as Kris or the Discarded Vessel, it's also kind of a genuine sacrifice on the part of the Player for the sake of Kris' agency... While also a piece of Kris has been undeniable sacrificed for our sake.)

But also... thinking more about the other references to Kris losing their hand...

And especially the one in Chapter 3's hidden '1225' room...

With the heavy connection being drawn between Kris' hand and Dess... I've started wondering, what if Kris' hand is sorta already gone?

Basically, the scenario I'm imagining is something along the lines of; Kris was with Dess when she got Gaster'ed or whatever, they held on to her to try and save her as she was taken, but she 'slipped through their fingers.' (Just like they fail to grab the item in the ball machine, which is probably a Guitar Pick, which symbolizes Dess)

So now they feel terribly guilty about their 'failure' to save her, leading to the 'promise' to the Ominous Phone Voice of Probably Carol... And also touching Dess just as she got disappeared 'infected' their hand with a Mild Case of Metaphysical Nonexistence.

So while their hand seems Normal most of the time... it is kind of in a Quantum State of non-existence/still kinda connected to Dess wherever she has gone to. Although right now it's only evident via Weird Metaphysical Stuff like the Shadow Crystals or... whatever is up with that Ball Machine.

It's like, symbolism to how Dess' disappearance made Kris feel like they lost a part of themself and they usually can repress it and pretend that they're fine and whole... but they're not, not really. Maybe it also gives them some sort of a connection to the deeper planes of metaphysical bullshit going on in the story. Like, maybe this is why they can access the Egg Rooms?

Well, regardless of the details, if Kris really is going to lose their hand (whatever it's cause its Quantum State of Non-Existence got resolved or it just got chopped-off in the Normal Way), it would be pretty tragic for them. From what I've heard, it's not impossible... but it is a lot harder to play Piano with only one hand...

Spoilers for Eddie and Volt's story in Date Everything but I need to rant about this for a minute.

I get why Volt exists. Honestly if I got to that point where Eddie was, I'd be burned out too. (Hell, I did. And I was.)

Keeping the power stable is a full-time job in itself. Now that he's running the Breaker Box too, Eddie needs someone to run the bar, dazzle the crowd, command the stage, complete all the necessarily repairs to maintain the club, and have enough mental and physical energy left over to keep the damn lights on. He's only one man. All that on top of a faulty wire? He knows he can't keep up with all of it forever without fizzling out.

To fix this, he made Volt to pick up the slack. For both the house power and the Breaker Box, but it's become so much more than that. He made Volt to be the host because he's the personification of what Eddie thinks people want from him. Volt is handsome, charming, and likeable. He doesn't tire out as easily after a surge, doesn't need to take breaks between social interactions to recharge (or else he starts snapping at customers left and right) and he doesn't shy away from flirting with people he finds attractive.

Volt is Eddie's mask taken form. He's there to throw on a smile and flirt with the human often enough that they won't want to peek behind the curtain and see what a mess everything really is. All they see is a loose floorboard here, a cracked bulb there, and hidden beneath it all is Eddie, barely keeping it together.

After all, why would they ever want Eddie when they can have Volt? Eddie himself created Volt to be everything he wants to be. How could anyone not fall in love with that?

So when the human starts taking an interest in Eddie of all people, he's confused. They must be there for Volt, right? Everyone's there for Volt. No one actually shows up to the Breaker Box just to see Eddie. Not that Volt would allow that in the first place, especially if Eddie was resting that day.

(Half the dialogue options for that interaction involve asking him where Volt is, or mentioning they'll wait until Volt gets there and that just broke my heart. This man is not ready for anyone to take an interest in HIM.)

Because the human does, of course, like Volt too, but that doesn't make Eddie any less important to them. (They are truly a bonded pair, do not separate.) The human wants to make sure both of them are okay, and seeing Eddie hurt is hard for them. They want to help in any way they can, whether Eddie trusts their intentions or not.

Even during the repairs he's hesitant to trust them. After all, they're probably only helping him to get in good with Volt, right?

But then he opens up to them about his struggles, and they promise not to tell Volt about what's going on, and he realizes they really do care about him, and want to help the club.

THAT'S the reason he calls them Live Wire after the reset, because it's not really just Volt who calls them that, Volt is literally a subset of Eddie's existing personality.

The way I see it is more like how a circuit splits power from series to parallel. He created another version of himself during that split, but in terms of making that split power into A Person, he hand-picked certain aspects of his personality to give Volt so that people would like him. After the split, Volt kinda grew to become his own person, so their personalities would be sorta like a venn diagram. Eddie on one side, Volt on the other, and the intersection is the specific traits Eddie chose to give Volt.

And how could Eddie not fall in love with the person he created to protect him on his worst days?

After you and them become a package congratulations you will never have a moment to yourself again. Someone will always have something new to show you or a story they wanna tell and these guys don't break off oh no if you get one you get them all.

They never really calm down but if you do express to them that you would enjoy some quiet they will happily attempt to do so.

Keyword there "ATTEMPT" these poor baby's are so energetic that even something like charades will make you think the house is about to come down on you. The thumping and thudding and whispered ows after a fist bump got to "radical" will some how manage to be even louder then before.

Okay in my mind the hanks are just a huge poly group that swallowed you whole so have fun with that.

It all starts once you've gotten to know the hanks a bit better. Soon Hank number 3's thoughts start to kinda seep into their shared dreams at night. Then Hank 5 is in front thrusting up into your weeping walls and holding your head up so he can stick his tongue down your throat. While they ravage your insides Hank 1 and 2 sit off to either side of you watching with their dicks in hand. Hank 1 loves to watch how your ass just molds like play doh to Hank number 3 waist everytime he thrusts into. Hank number 2 is definitely more of a boob guy. in a story I'm writing I have a character that uses a cane for instability and pain mostly in his legs. There is no specific diagnosis because it's magic based. But he is a superhero that gets his power from a separate magical force, and the part of the power is to enhance all physical ability strength, agility, ect. So would it a) be reasonable for him to no longer require a cane while in the super hero form and b) be officive or harmful in any way for him to no longer use a cane in those instances? I don't want to make it seem as though you can't be a hero or anything like with disabilities.

If the power is to enhance these attributes (strength, agility, etc.), then would it just be enhancing what's already there? If so, he'd probably still have these issues with his leg.

Personally, I really wish people would stop taking away their disabled character's disability when they're superheros. I've seen a lot of series do this (especially with magical girls-style heroes) and it's really quite unfortunate to see.

Why can't your character be a superhero with a mobility aid? Especially in this kind of situation, where his main problems are pain/instability -- which don't exactly stop him from being a superhero.

I also think that keeping his disability as a factor when he's a superhero opens the door for far more creativity and world building.

For one thing, you can consider how the world/city would react to having an obviously disabled superhero.

How does the media treat him? Do they tend to take a pitying or inspiration porn angle? Do they treat him like any other superhero? Does it change throughout the story? How does he respond to it?

How does the general population treat him? How about the disabled community in particular? I can't speak for everyone but I've always loved seeing disabled superheros. There's something about seeing somebody with your same problems being powerful that's really motivating/inspiring almost. I imagine that feeling would be increased if the superhero in question was real.

How do his teammates treat him (if he has them)? How do his villains treat him?

Keeping your character disabled when they're a superhero opens the door for all these different considerations, which can lead to some great character development/interactions.

Maybe your character's disabled fans put him on a bit of a pedestal and that's something he has to navigate. Maybe the media starts by talking about him in a pitying way or questioning his use/abilities and changes the tune after he wins a tough battle (though I think it'd be nice to have somebody acknowledge that treating him that way was kinda fucked up either eay). Maybe a villain doesn't want to fight him because he's disabled -- would your character take advantage of that in any way? How would they navigate the situation?

I'd really urge you to have him keep his disability/mobility aid as a superhero. It makes the story far more interesting to actually find ways to navigate the situation rather than take the easy way out AND it would be very refreshing to see a disabled superhero that isn't cured by their superpowers.

I'd suggest taking a look through some of our posts on #disability erasure and #disability negating superpowers as well as the helpful posts linked in our pinned post. There's some on disabled superheroes and navigating disability and superpowers that I think you'll find helpful.

I don't think they know this but before this I had been really frustrated with how I was feeling nothing about the fanart I was making. I'd been in the fandom for five years but I just kinda fell out of love with it. I was hating my art more and more blah blah anyway, then my friends started talking about how much they love Lego monkie kid and their enthusiasm made me incredibly interested. I loved the show immediately, the animation, characters, and story were all so beautifully done! The reason why I'm really grateful for my friends for introducing me to lmk is because almost every show I've been recommended is pretty predictable or okay (no offense to everyone who's recommended me something if you ever see this) like they're not bad most of the time but I'm at a point where I've watched so many things that nothing feels new. I've personally found amazing shows that I love with all my heart (frieren, castlevania, gintama) but I actually don't know a lot of people who watch those shows/ share the same enthusiasm so I kinda just keep all of my excitement to myself. With Lego monkie kid though I'm genuinely in love with it! I can talk to my friends about it and they actually like talking with me (sounds a little sad but trust me it's not)! My friends don't follow me here so they probably will never see this, but I just really am thankful to them for showing lmk to me and letting me join in on their love for the show<3

And if you read this far first off sorry, second! I'm thinking of maybe doing pre-orders for these? We'll see, I've never done pre orders before. So... I reblogged one of the posts you're talking about and said I agree with them, but after a bit more thinking I really think it's a crazy mix of comphet, internalized homophobia, depression, and trauma, among other things, that drive a lot of Mike's decisions and story.

I don't really think I'm the best person to answer this question because I prefer to think that Mike is gay and as I stated before, I do think he experiences internalized homophobia. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I think in seasons 1 & 2, Mike was completely oblivious to his feelings towards Will being romantic. I think he knew he felt differently towards Will than anyone else, but he didn't know what romantic feelings felt like. That's why he fell victim to comphet so easily in season 1. Everyone around him was telling him he liked El, so he must, right? Sometimes I think he may have even confused a trauma bond, or just a feeling of needing someone, like how he felt he needed her in order to find Will, as romantic feelings.

Anyways, I don't think he realized the extent of his feelings towards Will or realized that they were romantic until around the end of season 2 (the end of season 3 is when he realized the feelings were really not going to go away imo). And I think that he started disallowing himself to feel differently towards Will, and that's why he acts the way he does in seasons 3 & 4. That's why we get so much projection from him, too. Because he's forcing himself to be oblivious to these feelings. Every time he himself or someone else thinks anything that could possibly be about his romantic feelings towards Will or his platonic feelings for El (which he is trying to convince himself are romantic) he shuts it down immediately by going on the defensive (e.g. "What about us?" or "You never say it").

I could also talk about how I think his realization of his feelings and the fact that he thinks he failed himself by them not going away by the end of season 3 really affected his depression (he's pushing ppl away and shutting himself off bc he's depressed bc he realized his feelings are not changing) but I've already talked way too much, I feel 😅

Anyways, I know this isn't the answers to your questions but as someone who is kinda in the middle (in the way that I think he experiences internalized homophobia while also somehow forcing himself not to by pretending to himself that he is oblivious to his feelings), I wanted to jump into this convo. I hope this wasn't too confusing! Honestly I confuse myself writing these sometimes because Mike's such a complex character...

I'm genuinely interested because I'm trying to see Mike Wheeler from a different perspective.

How do bi Mike truthers who don't think he has internalized homophobia and is just oblivious to his feelings for Will explain the airport scene, the rink-o-mania fight, the "It's not my fault you don't like girls", his weird reaction to El kissing him in front of the closet in season 3 etc.? Because I feel like a lot of "Byler proofs" don't really make sense if Mike is actually bi and doesn't struggle with internalized homophobia so I really want to hear your thoughts on some of these scenes because I want to be able to see the bi Mike vision as well...

Look guys! It's Menolly! (and Beauty) :D:D:D Been re-reading some Anne McCaffrey books. Dragonsong was the first Pern related book I read (wasn't allowed to read the 'grownup' ones till I was 15), and since my other favourite book at the was 'My side of the mountain' (running away from home and living in the forest kinda thing), Dragonsong had me hooked. But it's been a while so coming back to it after a few years was pretty cool.

I think the most beautiful thing about writing of Howl and Sophie's pair is that they are written as people before being written as a pair. Let me explain this very quick.

The thing about book Sophie and Howl is that they are not really fully fitting into any "classic" romantic trope. They are not exactly enemies to lovers, as their angry chats are definitely cannot be considered a life or death battle, they are not rivals to lovers because the only aspect of rivalry between them is the cleaningness of Howl's room. They are not friends to lovers, as their relationship just doesn't fit into "friendship" structure at the very start, nor they are roomates (yes, they live in the same house but that's not the core aspect of their relationships). Of course, you can go on and fit the name of the trope you found specifically for them, but that's the thing.

They simply cannot be processed through a pairings lenses only, in order to understand how they act in relationship you need to analyse them separately, as a characters first of all. Cause that's what the book itself does!

Sure, it doesn't have a whole lot of romance instead, but it gives us time to learn and observe the life of incredibly written, alive characters, understand them as personalities first of all, while slowly immersing the dynamic between two characters (in this case, Howl and Sophie) into work. They are written as personalities, both being fully separated and interviewing, changing eachother's point of view.

It's difficult to find a trope for them. They're are not a trope. They are Howl and Sophie, and that's probably the only way their dynamic can be properly described. Just as real people, they are not really fitting into the boxes of linial character progression, but go way deeper into being complex, filled with little differences and moments only people with their personality can have in romantic (or any different) kind of interaction. They're imperfect, and silly, and multidimensional and the reader knows them well enough to imagine them interacting way beyond of what the book says to them.

They are being people before being a ship, a pair of a trope — and that's why they work so perfectly charming in the end.

Howl and Sophie are unique in being themselves.

I can't find it now but there's a post about suspension of disbelief and how it's broken when the story starts trying to excuse it. "character gets knocked unconscious for hours but there's no further issues from this" okay 👍 "and actually this makes perfect sense because of this and that" um no it doesn't why are you lying to me. like i am willing to ignore the holes and the discrepancies!! all you need to do is let me and not bring unnecessary attention to it!!!

and all that is my issue with the whole robin child soldier argument. like i am willing to ignore it i am willing to engage with the fantasy literally all you need to do is NOT try to convince me that Actually It's Fine Because They Want To Do It or whatever. like literally just shut up about it and i can engage with the fantasy!!
