he’ll go and do stuff like that or spend days in the nether and survive but his weakness is witches

and if you’re nearby ? he will 100% sacrifice you to the witch so that he can survive

honestly prefers to play in creative mode (me too sunoo)

but when you were like “let’s play in survival for once” he’s like “fiiiiiiiiinneeeeeuhhhh” (very dramatic about it)

he immediately builds a forever base when you spawn in

makes you do all the mining and stuff

he will tag along! but he won’t do shit

he’s the interior designer. he’s got bigger and better things to do

he only redeems himself when you go into the base and find your minecraft beds right next to each other

besides holding the house down, he also has an extremely high scale and successful farming system

so if you ever check in his chests, 100% you will find like 20 stacks of wood, stacks of wheat, of carrots, of beets, etc.

may be a homebody in minecraft but at least he’s fun to play with !!!! 10/10 would recommend to a friend

he abandons you from the get-go and immediately runs away and you can’t catch him so he builds a base far away from you

the base is in fact a dirt house

but it’s minecraft who said he had to be an architect

yes he abandoned you and is regularly attacking you at any given chance but he still keeps his tabs on where you are

walks all over your farm and kills your livestock

leaves signs saying “riki was here” “get rikrolled”

since he keeps tabs on you, u have to be very cautious of what you leave in your chests

he will steal anything. just for fun

hey man, when it comes to the pregnant damian stuff? you really, seriously need to change your tagging system, because right now, you've kind of made the character tags for damian and jon unusable for those of us with any sort of pregnancy-related trauma. please use 'cw pregnancy' or 'tw pregnancy' as tumblrs blacklist system is case sensitive and doesn't catch blog-specific tags. this goes DOUBLE for subjects such as teen pregnancy or miscarriage, i hope i dont need to explain why that especially needs a warning. i also want to gently let you know, since i get the feeling you're unaware, a lot of the anon asks you've been getting are... very noticably breeding kink stuff (be suspicious of stuff about 'high order multiples' and 'fertility' as those are tell words), and i just figured i'd want somebody to let ME know if I was getting unsolicited fetish asks. at the very least i would want to be able to tag that stuff properly. 👍

Twerkstallion's Alternate Universes + Headcanons Masterpost (June 2025 Editon)

Worldbuilding

headcanons/custom lore first, because they appear in multiple 'verses! you will notice some of the details mixed in are genuinely just straight up canon; hence the inspiration to expand those ideas further with head-canon and worldbuilding.

Feral Racers HC

Racecars differ genetically from civilian cars within the same species (think dog breeds... malanois vs golden). Racecars have sharp fangs, the natural ability to hunt, and have enhanced senses. It's inspired by the rivalry/drama/brawl culture of NASCAR as well as building up the 'anxious 700-hosepower machine of destruction' we see in canon. Lightning was an instant fish out of water on the roads. Why? Well, he's not a road car. But how does that work? was he born without a horn? how did that affect his ability to communicate as a bitlet? Mainly though, this is classic furry behavior of 'lets give that guy fangs to make them cooler.' The racers growl, howl, brawl, are territorial, and are often faced with the dilemma of instinct versus logic, road law versus interpersonal connections. this headcanon pokes at questions like: "what does 'street legal' mean in the cars universe? how come most cars dont seem to know any racecars, why are they so rare? whats the distinction between being A racecar vs being a Racer? what would cause a car to be born without headlights or need special accommodations?" maybe its an autistic monster-lovers metaphor for autism, maybe its maybelline.

Semiorganic Cars HC

the cars have tongues, gums, and... iris muscle tissue? yeah, theres meat in there. meat is powered by food, not lubricant, so they need small amounts of food to fuel their organic systems. the cars have a rudimentary pulmonary system, a digestive tract, and sexual organs somewhere between the back of their cab and their trunk. they reproduce sexually, most similar to mammals. the rest of their bodies are metal, with an elaborate but tough system of ichor-nerves along their entire frame to give them bodily sensation and control. and blood. i want them to be full of blood.

Bitlets Lore

Baby car = bitlet. Bitlets are born as fragile productions (litters), most dying within the first few hours. They remain small for the first several years of life, communicating with little beeps/honks. Theyre very squishy for cars, and they toughen into metal as they grow. if you threw one at the wall -throwing babies at the wall omg why?- well, theyd be fine. in fact, theyd bounce. cars are tough! bitlets are basketball-sized, near-formless blobs of cuteness. the cabin of an adult car is where the babies ride along until they are big enough to drive on the road themselves!

Living Metal Lore

fantasy/magic/mystery/scifi element. the metal of cars is 'alive'. this is why dusty needs a factory-new gearbox in PFAR, or to rebuild his current gearbox. factory new to have an unbonded mesh, or salvage his current parts that are already bonded to his body. his only other option was graverobbing or active murder (we see this black market of parts sales in Cars 2.) Maru salvages Dusty's gearbox, which is part of Mater's line of work too. new parts can be forged/cast out of Living Metal, which is the rare, raw material new parts are machined from. Raw Living Metal is mined. Most Living Metal is naturally already in the vehicles themselves though- as they were born made of metal and grew larger. This is why new parts is a dangerous economy- to break what you have isnt good. and if your manufacturer sucks at making new parts... well, then you get Cars 2... Ties into the ichor-nerve-veins lore mentioned above. Oh, and the cars can sort of heal their metal like Christine. Not nearly as fast or well, just to a slight extent. Christine is definitely like, the evil-Wolverine of the living machine world tho. More like Sabretooth.

Animals, Machines, and Agriculture

animals exist as machines... and so do some of their organic counterparts. Tractors are cows... and cows are cows. Tractors provide metals and fluids, cows provide beef and milk; all of which are things the vehicles need. the living machines eat metal also. There are no domesticated dogs that evolved alongside the machines, as many types of vehicle fulfill that niche, and dogs are too small to herd tractors anyway. Horses fulfill the role of a cattle dog in many cases; theyre larger and sturdier than dogs, able to keep up with their machine-counterparts slightly better. and sometimes, this is just an excuse to make custom monster designs.

These headcanons dont always appear in my works, but several of them do often!

Main Alternate Universes:

these AUs are in active development, and usually have asks, art, fics, and even multiple authors and full fic series. they are not worked on 24/7, but my brain cycles thru this list every few months/years with natural new ideas. most of these arent humanized, but i sometimes humanize them for fun!

Apocalypse AU

"What if racecars were left totally unsupervised?" Everyone but a very small population of cars drops dead within days after an invisible wave of pain crosses the globe, injuring most living machines beyond repair. Lightning McQueen, Cruz Ramirez, and Chick Hicks are among the few survivors. Together, they set out to the vast and now-wild lands of north america in search of oil... and life. A Mad Max/TWD/TLOU post-apocalptic longform anthology series with no zombies, custom lore, canon and original supporting characters, and a fully queer main cast. [Ao3 series]

Revived!Doc AU

post-canon. "What if Doc met Cruz?" Doc Hudson is dug up from his grave and brought fully back to life by a necromancer. in the 12 years he's been dead, so much has changed... and his revival doesnt come without consequence, as Doc's speed demon "The Judge" starts to haunt him. [Ao3 series]

Salqueen Bitlets AU [Canon Divergence]

Fluff-focused, Alive!Doc, slight multiship. Sally and Lightning decide 'wouldnt it be fun?' if they had a kid together. Through good doctors and sheer luck, they wind up with eleven children all at once- the full production survives. now, the task of Radiator Springs is to help raise 11 high-needs racecar babies. this will totally go well, with 0 exploding ipads in sight /s. The story follows Curly [a stock car, much like his father], Juice [an out-of-control dragster], Tad Strange [a well-adjusted geologist], "Phil" Philodendron [an anxious wreck], Runway [a girl dead-set on working for NASA], Prism Triangular [an artist in the making], Neo [a very serious young lad], and Michael [their crazy half-brother] as they grow and cause adorable mayhem in Radiator Springs. (ignore that there are 3 more names missing. you cant force an OC they sort of come to you.) [Ao3 series]

Old Man McQueen [Canon Divergence]

in the far future, Lightning is the only living resident of Radiator Springs. he's over a hundred, but his vain but painful life as a racecar has kept his parts cycled fresh and new, which has extended his lifespan. he's tired and cranky, but there may be another adventure in him yet... [Ao3 fic, no series yet at time of posting]

University AU

Rick Hicks wants his son to be a champion racer and win his team loooots of money. Turns out, his son Charles is really, really bad at this. Rick pulls Charles off the circuit, and instead sends him to university to groom him to take over the team someday and keep the family business alive. But all Charles wants is to prove himself by being a real racer. Monty McQueen wants to be a racer. Turns out, he's really bad at this, and no one can foot his bill of endless DNFing. hes sent to university to start a backup career ...the same university Charles is enrolled in. Charles and Monty are instantly drawn to each other, leaving destruction and rivalry in their wake, treading water as the ship of their dreams leaves port without them. Or maybe, that's just what being 23 feels like. [brand new AU at the time of writing, might be moved to backburner section]

Baldswap AU [CROSSOVER]

Double Isekai, temporary species swap, crack treated seriously. Custom X-Men timeline/team (to squish as many of my fav characters into one timeframe). Lightning McQueen from 2007 swaps places with Charles Xavier of the X-Men from 2004. Xavier, a human mutant, is taken in by a frightened Radiator Springs, who have to delcare Lightning missing. And Lightning... well, he gets dropped right in the middle of an active mutant warzone, and is forced to ally with Logan, the Wolverine, to survive. After the shock wears off, Logan takes the young car under his wing, suited to the job as one of the X-Men's resident mechanics- the other being his boyfriend, Kurt Wagner, who also takes a shine to the car. The X-Men adapt to their new talking car friend, but it isnt long before Lightning finds trouble, again and again. Run-ins with Magneto (who is searching for Xavier too), Sabretooth, as well as a custom racetrack on the grounds of Graymalkin Lane occupy their time... until Proteus shows up and warps reality, temporarily trapping Lightning in a human body until the X-Men can track Proteus down again to revert it. Uh, cue a trip to the mall with the girls for a wardrobe? All the while, the X-Men themselves are searching for Charles Xavier- and they know it has something to do with Lightning's sudden appearance... But the anti-mutant mob is stacked against them, and the X-Men are plunged further and further into pressure. As time goes on, Lightning is forced to reconcile that he may never go home again, and might be doomed to be the only one of his kind in a world that wants him dead, just like his new mutant friends. He doesnt have any superpowers of his own- he feels trapped in that regard too; like he cant help them either. ...is Lightning McQueen... X-Men material? (a self-indulgent reboot of my oldest crossover i made when i was 11 [too young to post it online at the time], where Logan was the one isekai'ed into Radiator Springs) This story actually is the second-most developed after the ApocAU. I have over 10k words of private notes on just this crossover, hence the long summary.

Backburner AUs:

these alternate universes are either side projects, not in active development, or are not being worked on much at the time of writing.

GTA AU:

gratuitous violence AU. humanized. Doc adopts Mater and McQueen as children after their parents are killed in a blackmail situation, and raises them both as his own. Problem is... Doc is the Crime Boss of Los Angeles... And sometime near their 30th birthday, Mater, Sally, and McQueen inherit it all after Doc is suddenly killed. And it only gets worse from there when people like Jackson Storm seize the power vacuum and nearly kill McQueen, running him out of LA... But not before a civilian named Cruz sees too much and gets trapped in their web of violence.

Demon AU:

humanized. Medieval+fantasy themed. [this summary is slightly inaccurate because this au hasnt been worked on since 2018 and i dont remember it well]. every ten years, the Demon King selects a new Demon to lord over the realm of Earth for him granting them power and control over all other demons. Lightning, a young demon attempting to survive his first challenge, crash-lands in a small village on his way to the demon king and is taken prisoner. Instead of executing him... the villagers are kind to Lightning [especially the innkeeper Sally]. Slowly, the ultimate power he sought becomes his enemy, and he rejects his duties as a demon, sacrificing his magical abilities with it. Ten years later, Lightning is nearly killed by a younger demon named Storm. Permanantley disfigured, Lightning just wants to keep living peacefully in his village... But then a demon hunter named Cruz shows up to kill him. After she fails, they realize they have a common enemy in Storm... [old art]

Bastard AU: [Canon Divergence]

In his mid forties, Lightning discovers that he has an adult daughter, a result from his party days. Shes already a racer; and she wants absolutely nothing to do with him for fear of being overshadowed by his legacy. But the press has already caught wind of their secret, and theyre forced to face the music.

Racer!Oliver AU:

OC/fanparent Oliver McQueen as a racecar in the 80s/90s, toting his son Monty along for a destablized trackside childhood. Monty still grows up to be Lightning... and he's a better racer in every way. But a better man? Well, that remains to be seen...

The Blender: [CROSSOVER OF 2 AUs]

Crack AU. The fankids from the Salqueen bitlets AU get sucked into the Apocalypse AU, and Apocalypse!Lightning winds up in their timeline in their place. The kids learn about The Horrors in looney tunes fashion, and Lightning is retraumatized to see everything he lost in the 'good timeline'... Despite it all, he's determined to actually return to the Apocalypse- there are still cars depending on him there.

The Pirate AU

Humanized, POTC themed sort of. This one i dont remember much either, as i plotted it out in 2018 or so. Captain McQueen's ship is sunk by Captain Hicks- and his first mate, the loyal Mack, is able to keep his young captain from drowning in the stormy seas- but in the chaos, theyre separated. McQueen is found and taken aboard by the RS Stanley, helmed by Captain Hudson, who'd rather send his new prisoner off the plank. Pirate stuff and friendship occurs idr. Eventually, they take down Hicks, reunite with Mack, and McQueen becomes the new captain after Hudson dies. Later, Admiral Jackson Storm has become obsessed with the infamous RS Stanley crew, and sets out with the Navy to take McQueen prisoner- and have him publicly executed.

Time Travel AU

another really old AU i dont remember much of. Humanized or not, both versions exist. The premise is post-Cars 3 Lightning gets trapped 12 years in the past. This was an early precursor to the Revived!Doc AU above.

WHEW! I just keep making AUs, huh? Well, it's been 20 years since Cars came out, its bound to happen. Clearly its also very fun!

Canonverse:

Origin Era

my personal "backstory" for Lightning McQueen's childhood/adolescence. focuses on childhood neglect, texas culture, the city of dallas, and my fanparent-OCs Oliver McQueen and Donna Ann Steeldust and their fraught relationship. How did little Monty wind up as 'mr. one-man-show', skirt by undiagnosed, and get so emotionally attached to Doc later in life? it all starts here!

Prequel Era

This is my personal rewrite on the pre-canon material we have regarding how Monty became Lightning. this is a short span of time in his late teens/early 20's as he starts his racing career, meeting characters like Carl, the smell-swell team, and eventually, his first fan: Mack! [Ao3 fic. Quite old and in dire need of a rework, even if i had 4 chapters complete in 2018 and never posted them.]

Sequel Era

Post-canon. "At the end of Cars 3 (and COTR), Lightning said he would 'keep racing'. What does that entail?" This "Cars 4" style story follows Lightning, now under the Dinoco brand umbrella, fighting to prove himself to the racing world and end his career on a higher note than utter defeat. Problem is, 'his' way of doing things is not Mr. Dinoco's way of doing things, and Lightning has to agree to try something new... ...Which means working with a crew chief who isnt Doc. After nearly a decade of running his team/strategy out of his own head WHILE driving, Lightning meets his new crew chief; the level-headed Roger Tappet, a massive pickup truck with his own glory to chase. Theyre forced to become a team, lest both their careers end in utter ruin. Both of them have served themselves a seemingly impossible task. But it doesnt look good for the underdog Team 95 as the 2019 season starts with a bang... and the hits keep coming! [Ao3 series]

Mentioning these because sometimes these events/characters still contribute to some of the AUs above, and alternate universes arent everyone's cup of tea; i cover plenty of ground!

Alright! that's my June 2025 roundup on all of my Cars Alternate Universes and other headcanons/storylines. Some of these have been in development on and off since 2018, but about 1/3rd of them are from 2024.

What's your most traumatic ranma1/2 ffic experience? I'll go first, dont remember the name, but 'ranma gets roofied at a houseparty and gets pregnant.'

i don't think i can top that if i'm real... i have trauma from other fandoms so i use ao3's filter system so there's a lot i don't see (i assume the most fucked up stuff is in older fics or outside of the rankane tag...) i also avoid very old fics (recently read one where ranma's solution to everyone chasing him was "i'm gonna let them kill me" and somehow this was humorous in tone lmfao meanwhile akane was traumatized?? it also commits the sin of grouping akane with the clowns chasing ranma, which i'm gonna blame on the old show) especially knowing people were just doing whatever back in the day (including people writing fics based on other's fics without having ever read the manga or watched the anime???) i can tell you things that annoy me instead lol (not including summaries that served me only to add more tags in my "exclude" bar cuz you couldn't pay me to read those)

akane struggles with insecurities but "a person who has zero confidence and is always on the verge of breaking" she's not.

ranma and akane fighting or their banther is not easy to capture, is it. a lot of fics overdo it. it shouldn't feel like they might kill each other for real or there's real HOSTILITY lol

casanova ranma: the manliest of men with the biggest of dicks, written for the female reader who might or might not want to fuck him or for those who might be self-inserting with him. this ranma will fuck anything with a pulse and a skirt cuz he's a grown man with needs! (nevermind that canonically akane is the one who gets anywhere near horny thoughts and that ranma runs from intimacy, self sabotages, is emotionally stunted and mentally younger than he is, moves and "grows" at a very slow pace, gets uncomfortable by the horniness of the guys around him, is generally uninterest in people's looks other than his own... fanon is fanon but surely more fics could take inspiration from that) (somehow i'm always jumpscared by this one... i remember a fic where every man was a fucking pig and after already meeting akane he sleeps with another girl and then goes out on the balcony to smoke and stare at a billboard with akane's picture hahahahahaha that's where i dropped it. i read it because, dumb bitch that i am, i wanted a cute idol/bodyguard fic, i was thinking more about the 90s movie in terms of vibes but anyway)

fics where ranma is just some guy. even in normal aus i feel like we need to have that curse! where's my girl! (even worse if it's paired with casanova ranma)

anything that uses ukyo and/or shampoo as exes for ranma or "they could be together and perhaps even be happy if it wasn't for akane" is an automatic "you haven't thought about this boy that much, have you" and also a "you're not catching what these girls actually want, romance-wise, and how little patience they have for ranma's actual self" ... they are specifically girls ranma is incompatible with mind you!

hello! i hate doing meta like when i have to think about spn as a show my head explodes. how does ur head not explode? how do u keep ur opinions clear in ur head? and how do u know all ur references to episodes? i swear, i've watched this show since i was thirteen but i look at the semi-longposts u make and i think i would never in a million years be so articulate and more importantly so clear in my own head what i think of spn. does this make sense to you? like, how long does it take for you to form your discourse opinions and to make your posts explaining them with all the episode references? i do love your posts, if that's not clear. even when i dont agree with them :D

<3 Jokes on you my head is always exploding at all times. The episode references help keep me grounded tbh (though there is also a time and place for playing in the sandbox). It is very easy to think about Supernatural too much I am with you on that. I also have that problem perpetually when writing academic papers and I have yet to figure out how to solve my issues staying on topic in that setting. I think we all have our different ways of thinking about things and that's great.

The truth is I don't always remember all of the numbers, but I generally know what episode I'm thinking of and a quick google of the season list will give me the relevant episode number for my tagging system. If I don't remember the episode very well, then a quick peruse of @/butch--dean's transcript search tool helps me out. If that doesn't work, or if I'm after visual elements, @/canonspngifs tag archive helps. Also you might notice I usually tag stuff I've gotten up to on this rewatch the most thoroughly. This rewatch in particular has caused a lot of episodes to stick in my mind, especially because I've been spending a lot of time talking about individual episodes and have been going through them very slowly. I started my rewatch with a goal and that goal was to build a database of my thoughts on the show and a catalog of deangirl meta, so I end up tagging certain episodes a lot and referring back to them because they're sort of seminal touch stones in my head, so those numbers stick.

Certain posts take me a long time and other ones don't take me long at all. Maybe like 20 minutes. But there are posts I've made that I also thought about for a few days or that caused me to go back and rewatch certain episodes and think through them and maybe talk with a few people about them. Whether I can type something out fast or not mainly depends on if I've thought about the subject a good bit/talked about it with other people a lot or not. If it's a common subject of disk horse then I will probably have thought about it and talked about it with various people on many occasions over many years so I kind of already know what I think and why. But also this rewatch and some posts from the mutuals have changed my mind on a lot of things I used to accept that I now realize are just really persistent fanon, and that also makes those subjects stick out.

What is a F/O?

F/O stands for fictional other, i'm pretty sure? It can be romantic, familial, platonic, a mix, ect. It's most used in self-shipping communities i think, but it's also common to see referenced/used in relation to fictional cgs and such! (additionally, S/I stands for self-insert!)

There are people who prefer to not share their F/O's and i know that's sometimes a hot/judged topic, but imo, it's a simple block and move on. Tha block button is under-used imo - sometimes vibes just don't match, and there's nothing wrong with blocking! this is YOUR comfortspace. curate as you need <:)

How do I choose a Fictional CG?

you're absolutely right that there's no way to do it wrong (with the exception of ignoring DNI's)

Really, there's no wrong way to go about it! i've seen all sorts of characters ppl see as their fictional cgs, from kids cartoons to anime to horror, ect! and you can definitely have more than one fictional cg, in the same media, in diff media, ect

you can choose any character that you want to be your fict cg, and you can also have characters that are like siblings and partners and friends! I dont go into it as much here bc this is my agere space, but I like to think of bones as my partner too, honestly (and plenty of IRL people have their partners as CGs, so dont feel like you're not allowed to have a character as a fict cg if you also like to imagine being their partner!)

headcanons, little stories, doodles, those are all definitely ways people interact with their fict cg! i also have ocs that i put into stories and situations with Bones (who is definitely my no.1 fict cg. my papa fr fr), so you don't necessarily have to do a direct self-insert!

most of mine involve bones comforting or looking after me, bc i have a hard time doing that to myself, and it makes me feel better and less selfish to imagine him saying i deserve those things. i also use it to help encourage me to do hard things, like coursework, or when i'm really, really not good mentally, i also like to picture him there for me <:)

my friend will came up with the idea of a fictional CG journal and has some ideas posted here abt that !

You're allowed to regress in whatever way makes you feel best. your regression doesn't have to be baby blankets and naptime if that's not you! you can regress and like horror games, or have favourite characters from gorey media (just make sure you tag stuff!). you dont have to be a soft baby - middle regression sometimes gets the short stick of things, but it's entirely just as valid. and you dont NEED a caregiver to regress, but you might prefer it! you might want a fictional cg and not an irl person!

it never ceases to amaze me just how cruel people in fandoms can be. cruel, mean, hyprocritical, straight up dumb.

dont get me wrong, these people are a minority. i have found myself amongst the best sort of people in fandoms i am a part of and couldnt be happier for the friendships i have made from them.

but this incredibly loud minority piss me off to no end. i stay away from any sort of discourse, silently watching from the background and watch thing blow up over trivial matters, and then learn who to avoid in those circles and move on with my life

but when i see, what i consider to be blatant bullying, to someone i hold dear, i dont want to be quiet anymore. im not a loud figure, im a tiny blog that loves to simp over 2d characters, a tiny stream channel that i interact with like minded people. and i mean i am TINY, im barely a blip on this wide web. so anything i say, it doesnt go anywhere, so still, i stay silent until i cant anymore.

so lets get to the crux of the matter.

if you dont like a character, you dont get to make others feel bad about liking them. i dont care if you think they are problematic, if you dont like their story, their look, or simply the fact that they exist

you dont get to make someone feel bad for finding a connection with them and loving them

you dont get to attack them about liking the character, passively or aggressively, you dont get to make fun of them and any of the work they do around them. you have no right to take it upon yourself and make someone feel like they dont belong just because they like a character that you dont

if you dont like the character, dont fucking interact, its that bloody simple. scroll away. mute the tag, mute the channel, whatever. just walk away

interacting with someones content for the pure purpose to make fun of it is cruel. you are making it public that you want to demean the person for what they enjoy. and the worst thing is, if you catch the attention of the younger audience, they learn that they get to act that way, and this kind of online activity only gets worse

it already has gotten worse. man, im a millenial and i thought keyboard warriors when i was in highschool and older where bad. these days the younger generation feel justified to think that they can say whatever they want and suffer no consequences of those actions. i see it in so many fandom discourses. its horrible

but they learn from the worst of us on the internet. the more they see the cruel interactions, the more they think its okay to act that way. and without a doubt, fandoms will end up being incredibly toxic environments that people wont feel comfortable to exist in anymore.

every fandom has a toxic space, its unfortunate but it is true. i wish it wasnt

and the smaller the fandom, the louder this toxic group is

it just fucking sucks. and watching people i care about be treated so badly hurts because all i can do is be their support. an ear, a shoulder, just someone they can vent to. but it doesnt stop the fact that they got hurt and i cant do anything about it

god i dont even know what this even turned into. im tired, im upset, im just so frustrated.

so umm why can't you just use pokemon home 😂

oh i use pokemon HOME, lol. the thing is that i use it so often that ive identified a bunch of problems with it that drive me nuts!!!

ive listed a bunch of my issues on here before, but a big one is: im currently trying to put ribbons on a bunch of my old favorite pokemon, but you can only see what ribbons a pokemon has from the mobile app version of HOME.

so to know who still needs what ribbons, i’d have to boot up the mobile version, check which pokemon have which ribbons, and write their names and what ribbons they’re missing down- so that when i close the mobile app and open the switch app (you cant have both open simultaneously), i can remember which guys i need to move where. now with the spreadsheet, i can filter by ‘Sentimental’ (my category for my favorite individual pokemon) and ‘Pokemon that dont have the Paldea Champion Ribbon’ and be presented with a list of who is missing that ribbon

but also, im collecting info about pokemon i still have in earlier games, because i kept having moments where i’d go ‘what happened to DODE, the Dodrio that my best friend caught when she was 8 years old and then traded to me when we were in middle school?’ and have to start booting up all of my different carts across multiple generations. so why not make a comprehensive directory that spans across all of my games, that i can update to show which game a pokemon currently resides in?

also i just love making elaborate spreadsheets and being able to sort and filter data- its fun for me to be able to see all of the different species i have in Moon balls, or tag pokemon that i received from friends with notes about what i remember, and not have to worry about those tags being lost if i ever move one of those pokemon from HOME to a game (this is how the tagging system included with HOME works lol. i tried to use it! i made a bunch of tags and dutifully tagged almost all the pokemon stored in my HOME, only to find out later that if i moved one to a game and then put it back later, all the tags would be Gone and id have to reapply them all. super irritating!!)

oh another reason i just remembered- i will never remember the hidden ability for every pokemon species, and HOME doesnt have any special indicator if a pokemons ability is its hidden one. on my spreadsheet, i added a column where i can check off a box if a pokemon has its HA, in addition to the column that lists the name of the ability.

so, it's been a while since y'all have heard from me in any forms and given the hopeful vibes of my blog, which i wanna keep on carrying with all types of content, i felt right to share with you something and make it a little piece of this 'hopecore journey' i had started on this app.

for starters i'll tell you why i haven't been around: school (simple, right?) i'm doing my last year and from where i'm from, the 'exit exam' is a fucking big deal, especially in my school (just because i have a 18 hours exam (big deal) + a 6h essay and a 50min dissertation sort of thing) and all my energy, time and focus has been on school, with mock exams, tests, deadlines, trips and more... and dont get me started on UNI cause for how much i want to do psychology, im wondering how the hell UNI is even running rn... this gave me a lot of stress which pushed me away from tumblr and AO3, and also not responding to tags, reblogs or comments/dms; basically, i dissapeared and left little crumbs behind me.

so, what am i gonna do with this situation? do what i started my 'hope core journey' for: share with you something that might inspire you.

therefore, throughtout all of this mad rollercoaster, i had felt hopeless and unmotivated, especially seeing a person close to me cheat off all exams and another not getting good grades despite hours of hard work, which all lead me to wonder: what's the point? why waste so much energy on this stupid shit when half-assing it would be passable and it would leave me more time for my hobbies?

what's the point to work for a system that isn't fair?

that's what i thought last: why push yourself when you'll never be repaid fairly by the system you're in? and my answer was... bittersweet

i push myself so much in school, for this half-assed system, not because i care about the good grade or the nice GPA (which i wont deny are both good and things im proud of) but because being a hard worker mf is who i am. which means i'll always feel somehow inadequate to a system until i'll be in one which will do me justice, even barely so.

but why is this important for the hope core you might ask, and i'll tell you: accepting who you are can just put you at pease so much, because on one half of the scale you'll know who you are, you'll be able to do good for yourself despite the circumstances around you and decides according to your morals and ethics, without ever insulting yourself, but on the other half, is it worth it?

and it's on that other half that i put my hope...

cause y'know, i started this blog, my AO3 account too (partially), cause i wanted to reach out to people, i wanted to make a little place in the big bad world where people would see a bit of the good in the world, a glimpse of hope when there's nothing motivating them; a little story that could inspire them to be good to themselves, something that would make them feel anything or everything. I started this cause at my core, i'm devoted to connect and help others, and there's nothing that will ever change that.

and i'm not saying that i haven't or won't write fics for my own pleasure or without any message in it; cause in the end, if you need to find a message, you'll find it whethere I or someone else put it in their work, or song, or text, or phone call. you'll find what you need wherever you'll want it to be.

but the point is (sorry for the rambling), hope is what gives you some sort of motivation. at least for me, it works and maybe it could for you too.

i wanna help people, and hope is all i can pass around like holy water and candy bars; hope is what drives me to pursuit psychology, to finish school with a high morale, to work on my fics because i know someone will love them as much as i do, if not more.

hope gives that tiktok sound a new light; it makes it valuable, cause there's always a light in the darkness, no matter how far or little it is; it's there. and hope shows it to you. hope makes those 20 tags a sign of how people care for you, think of you; hope pushed you to come back and those 20 tags made you happy all over. caues yeah, people think about you when you're not around and are happy to see you back around; even if just a very tiny bit, everyone is happy to see someone back on active.

hope makes those 56 AUs turn into 56 experiences that will probably open your eyes to prospectives you never saw before, cause you'll do research on each and you'll find out stuff that breaks your heart and that you'll use that to break other's hearts, but you'll patch them all back together cause you want to show the good stuff, the love that persist (unless you go for hurt/no comfort, but this aint about hierarchy of what is a superior fic to another); because love in that story will become hope for a happy end. hope gives that driver lisence the aura of being a free ticket to the world, to go where you belong, where you feel you're needed and where you feel you'll be good; hope makes the destination sweet and the journey endurable. hope makes the sad stuff worth working through, cause you have hope for the happy side of things, for the bright side.

and yes, i'm a sap who has only hope to offer, only words of comfort and snippets of fics yet to post, but aint' that hope itself?

but it's a good place to start when nothing else is safe or stable enough to start with; hope is within you and nobody can take it away from you. sure, you can lose hope, but idk if you knew: 'hope dies at last' for a reason.

it can always be found back, you can always find your lost hope somewhere in the world, cause you never truly lost it, you just looked elsewhere for a bit and forgot it's there.

hope dies at last because it never leaves us, it dies at last cause when we reach the end and we believe there's nothing left, hope was there all along and we just didn't look its way in a while and thought it wouldn't be there when we'd look; hope dies with us, that's why at last, because it comes and goes with us, who carries it around in candy bars, loud cars, coffee makers, plane tickes...

i didn't let my eyes wander away from hope, cause i know how it'd get if i did...

and i know that if you need to find what you need in this post, you'll find it; you'll look at that little hope stored somewhere in your soul and you'll smile a little. you'll go to work, or you'll study for that exam, or you'll say yes to some offer from a stranger to dance.

My Tags

I add "pme" (short for my username) before all the tags which i use to sort posts on the blog. i do this to avoid flooding tags like "vintage" and "photography." I add other, more appropriate tags without the "pme" for visibility.

pme clothed, pme covered, pme exposed- tells you if the image contains visible genitals and, if not, how theyre blocked.

pme bodymod, pme unmodded - tells you if anyone in the image has any body modifications, including circumcision. will usually have a more specific pme bodymod [blank] tag to mark what kind as well.

pme intact, pme mixed cut - tells you the image is both pme exposed and pme unmodded (at least in terms of circumcision). Added to make searching the blog easier. I wasnt sure if photos with both circumcised or intact men should count for pme intact, so I added pme mixed cut to mark them instead.

pme wild - the image is pme unmodded and also contains no man-made structures. Great for finding pictures to show how humans and nature are the same thing.

pme solo, pme public - Solo is for images with only 1 subject, public is the same if the image has other figures in the background as well.

pme cmcm, pme nmnm, pme cmnm - The image contains only men as subjects and has more than one. pme cmcm if all those men are clothed, pme nmnm is none are, and pme cmnm for a mix.

pme mixed sex - For it both male and female subjects are present in the image.

pme cfnm, pme nfnm, pme cfcm - the image contains both male and female subjects, pme cfcm of they are all clothed, pme cfnm if only the women are, and pme nfnm if they all are. pme nfcm would be if only women are, but given the blog's subject idk if that will be used.

pme vintage - the image appears to be decades old, and it's quality is usually low due to it

pme soft, pme semi, pme full - I've stated several times i dont consider erections inherently sexual. But other people do, so its worth tagging. the scale goes soft > semi > full.

pme unsourced, pme reblog - The first is for when I do not know the source of the image, and info would be appreciated. The second if for when thats the OP's problem

pme text, pme video - the first is for text posts and the second for videos, obviously lol. everything else is images.

pme photography, pme photo - pme photography is for photos which seem professional, like from models and photo shoots. pme photo is for more casual, amateur-like work or candid images. It's a bit subjective though.

pme art - the image is of a painting, sculpture, or other art piece will usually also have a pme art [blank] tag to say what kind.

pme nudist - the photo seems to depict nude subjects in natural poses and states, as though the image were candid or unplanned. More generally, i could see the image as being taken by people who didnt get naked just to take it.

pme act - short for "sex act," you probably know why. Best to tag for the same reason as pme full.

I am considering additional tags to sort posts by body type, age, location, activity, etc. but am not yet sure what system would be most convenient.

you don't have to answer this, but I just wanted to know how you write longform fics or just long pieces in general. it's one of the things I've struggled with as a writer, and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how I could go about it or do it.

I'd be so grateful if you could provide some advice or suggestions 🥹🥹

i want u to know that i saw this ask when u sent it, but i had a 5hr drive today and wanted to make sure i had time to answer this!! it's under the cut bc i yapped a bit <33

so one thing that i feel the need to say up top is that i never go into pieces with a "goal" length/word count (often times my fics end up being longer than i expected/intended). because i never really write with the goal of a specific length in mind, these are things that i think have helped me write more cohesive and narratively fulfilling pieces in general, which tends to make my fics longer

my first thing is planning/outlining!! i used to just write my fics start to finish in one go with little to no planning, and since i've started slowing down and taking my time outlining/planning beforehand (and even during the drafting process i continue adding to my outline), i've seen the average lengths of my fics go up a lot. you don't have to have every single scene, moment, and piece of dialogue planned out before start writing (lord knows i never do), but you should have a pretty good idea of the major story beats, character dynamics, and any important conflicts, and make sure it's written down in a way that's easy for you to refer back to while you write. never think you're gonna keep it all in your head

build out your characters' lives!! i love introducing a good b-plot involving the main character's friends (see: strawberry sunday) that doesn't take too much attention away from the main plot that it seems out of place, but instead complements the main plot and allows there to be space in between those major plot beats for the readers and the characters to breathe. it also helps make your characters feel more well-rounded and real to the readers if you throw in a scene of their daily life at school or work or with their friends/family both to add texture to them but also to your world. it can also be good to use an establishing scene towards the beginning of their daily life, then a similar one towards to the end that shows any character development, or some other impactful change that happened during your story. instead of just telling us that everything in your character's life changed, show us how it did (or didn't! or maybe it only changed a little, but the little change was important, too)

in a similar vein, build out your world!! im not saying to spend ten pages describing an intricate magic system to us that has little bearing on the plot itself, but feel free to weave in extra details about where/when we are and how the characters interact (or dont!) with the world around them (even if its our normal old world in the modern day)

and i mean i guess my last thing that's really helped me is just sort of getting out my head when it comes to writing? like, not forcing myself to write everyday, not having any sort of word count goals, no posting schedule, etc. just letting myself sit with my ideas for a while and really play around and have fun with them. it's made writing fic something that i look forward to doing when i come from work, or when the weekend is approaching, and i genuinely am making probably my favorite things that i've ever made right now. and they happen to be pretty long!!
