So I already saw this post actually! And my rb definitely gave my defense as to why I think it's valid, and that reasoning is very simple:

But to go into more detail, even if we're saying Apollo didn't care anymore, if he's pulling an excuse as flimsy as "He killed some sirens", I feel like a half-assed excuse of being upset about Troy could have been brushed off just as easy and still been fun, and made more sense? Like, that conversation was literally "Ody killed Sirens and I like their singing" "The sirens were gonna kill him he just did it first" "Oh yeah shit ur right" As if Apollo doesn't know damn well what a Siren does 😭

He didn't personally offend Apollo, but he was also one of the important Achean warriors during the Trojan War. A Key Component for what brought about the fall of Troy. And yes, Troy was destined to fall, but also, that doesn't take away that Apollo favored Troy. Gods aren't so forgiving about you tampering/hurting things they like, weaved by fate or not. I don't think Poseidon would have been like "Oh the fates said you should horribly cripple my son? Yeah, go for it, I guess"

(And I think my account definitely defends the facts that I know the cows weren't his either.)

All in all, what I'm saying is even if he wasn't mad about it, if he was already pulling something out of his ass (bc that man did NOT care about those Sirens. And if he did, not very much LMAO.) It would have made more sense for him to pull something out of his ass about Troy.

But I'm also not saying this to complain. Overall I loved God Games, and the Wisdom Saga as a whole! I just felt like that one verse could have been so much more if it had been something about Troy!

On the basis of Acting and for his performance alone in The Devil All the time I'll keep Bill at the top, imagine having that cast and still overshadowing everyone else.

I had a re-watch recently and his scenes with little Arvin under the praying log is so fine..if I was the director I'd pat myself in the back just for that scene alone. The control he has over his eyes and facial muscles is what separates him from the others.

Man could have been a supermodel with that sharp featured face and height but chose to do these weird character based performances and i love him for that because imagine not having him in movies.

Second would obviously be Matt, that man can act out a telephone book and you can't change my mind about it. No wonder they had him looking so tragic with a stupid mohawk in the next movie when he's next to a bigger star who can't seem to act that well and is severely overrated. He experiments a lot with his roles and I love that. I'd actually keep him in the same zone as Bill..god I'd love to see them together. I heard Bill is doing a film with Hugh Jackman..I'm so stoked.

And obviously the bottom of my list is Tom, he's a good actor, no doubt about it but his filmography isn't that great because I feel like he stays in his comfortable zone and never really experimented much. You watch crimson peak and you see a Hollywood star, it makes me sad he didn't get his due.

Ain't no way I'm rating them on looks, all of them are the prettiest in their own distinct ways and i have been obsessed with them equal amounts.. though not at the same time.

Echo & Clone Force 99

Continuing my Omegaverse train of thought (because I can't let anything go).

I wonder about the change in dynamics he (Echo) would have had to deal with. I'm kind of obsessed with the difference between 99 and other reg squads and how once Echo joins them he sees they approach their instincts and pack so differently. Partially because they have (when they're still with the Republic) a little more freedom to do so and partially because of the genetic mutations.

I'm down bad for dog imagery and with the threats of being decommissioned (cough cough 'put down') I like to think that 99 has to acclimate Echo to this idea that Pack revolves around family and not around usefulness and 'the strong eat the weak'. He probably had a long and hard adjustment period after everything that happened to him and then he gets dumped with a Pack that Cuddles???? and has meaningful physical contact with each other outside of battle????? I feel like the man would be so lost.

He would be terrified of being a useless soldier and being put down and then Hunter and his brothers roll up and are like bro. bro. did you know that you can be happy? did you know that you can enjoy your dynamic and instincts in a way that has nothing to do with war and instead fulfills your emotional and physical needs? ok im going to #seriouspost for a second here. I don't think Harry Potter is a manifesto. I think it was a flawed passion project that millennials latched onto because of the fantasy of sticking it to their mean teachers and arbitrarily categorizing themselves (hogwarts houses; it's the thinking millennial's astrology). I think the fact that the series got popular when and how it did was very much a product of its time.

I don't think Harry Potter is the biggest symbol of JKR's bigotry. I think the most flagrant sign of that was how she responded to critics. I watched her become radicalized in real time. I watched how she doubled down on her racism when she was called out for the ways she promoted her tragically mid fantastic beasts movies. I watched her chase marginalized teenagers with a double digit follower count off of twitter for daring to criticize her thought process, and no one with any kind of power standing against her because she was the one who was paying them. This isn't to say Harry Potter is without flaws. This is to say she really didn't give a shit about that. Getting rich and powerful is a hell of a drug, and she had enough sycophants that she had no reason to care about what her critics were saying.

She was convinced that she was a martyr; a voice for the unheard; a leader for the ages, so of course her detractors were the bad guys. And I think we should take this to heart. We should see this as an example of how easy it is to get radicalized; if you think of yourself as a paragon of virtue, you are going to think that whatever you see as good and right is an objective fact.
