i was venting about being ghosted by people in my life who said they were my friends (to my “best friend”) & this was the response i got…

it. broke. me.

i’ve decided to take a break from my main social media for now… in fear that everyone feels this way about me. i have one person on here that i message regularly, so thankfully that’s only one person to overwhelm with my existence.

i chose to move to tumblr so i can “post to the void.”

I'm so of two minds on the Countershot scene. On the one hand it's adorable, it's such an incredible scene and I think it's a perfect way to showcase Kai achieving Rising Dragon Technique, him struggling and using his past (something he has a strong connection to) to achieve it.

But then on the other hand I just think about how this scene was meant to display BOTH of them and how Nya DOESN'T do it right away... it's so conflicting.

Here's the Thing, right, it makes sense. Nya isn't tied to her past the same way Kai is, she's not overly nostalgic like Kai, who loves remembering his past and even talks about "The good old days," when he had way less on his shoulders. Nya doesn't look back on the past the same way, and that's so cool for her!

But then, when Kai is lost to Nether-Space and Nya finally does Rising Dragon, they very purposefully intersperse moments of the Countershot flashback to show it's something paralleled, and Nya blinking away tears and trying to push back her thoughts implies this is in fact what she's reminiscing on. I think you could rationalize it as those memories being more sensitive to her after she just watched Kai get shot into Nether-Space but truly I don't know.

Today I went to get a vaccine because in 2023 this girl shared the same first/last name and birthday with me and they mixed up our records so I had to get 3 injections. I was supposed to bring my scara meow plushie but I forgot it in my garage because I was just ao tired.

When they told me I needed THREE vaccines I got really anxious and nervous and I couldn't hug my scara plushie so I cried but at least I got through it 😭(my arm is so sore) (I'm so weak idk why I cried)

do u think it's ok to wear Saint Peter's cross on a necklace as a Catholic?

i’m not super educated on this. from a regular catholic perspective, i think it’s beautiful to honor symbols that have millenary history. it’s one of the reasons i love the Chi-Ro (☧) so much. if you’re wearing the Petrine cross to honor St. Peter, i see no issue in it.

(sidenote: i am particularly interested in semiology & hermeneutics, though. and i think it’s interesting to question the weight of intent and the communicative nature of signs and symbols. Barthes is one to argue that “myths are not innocent,” and myths serve a function within the society that upholds them (to benefit the nameless bourgeoisie) i think it’s very interesting to investigate the history of modern vilification of the Petrine cross, going hand in hand with anti-Catholicism, xenophobia, racism, and Evangelical moral panic.)
