see if someone asked me how to get into comics id tell them to look up reading lists, find foundational arcs, more accessible one-shots etc but that does not mean ill take my own advice. when i want to get into a superhero i start reading from their first appearance like god intended
#also i just really like golden/silver age i wish more ppl were obsessed with it like me#rn im doing that with superman. started with action comics 1 babyyy#im ngl my current plan#is to read up all of pre-crisis for multiple heroes#so rn its superman (plus batman too but mostly supes) then i think wonder woman#and then i can finally begin exploring post-crisis#so going sort of chronologically#itll probably take me like a year or smth#but this is the last stage of my life where i have enough free time to do it (i think)#but im currently having fun too so idc#and im not really a stickler for my self imposed rules. ill read other stuff when i get bored#maybe find some time to get into marvel/indie comics that arent superheroes#dc comics#comic books#needle spins yarns

omg i havent even finished farseer let alone the whole thing. i read assassin's apprentice years ago but never finished the series ���😭😭 i recently (semi recent. like five months ago) bought the second book but unfortunately it has been living on my dresser. spine uncracked. ever since. i know so many people who love love love robin hobb so im inclined to think well of it but i remember very little from the first book unfortunately. i'll get there one day 😔🙏🏾

#prince's talk tag#this was the stuff I bought when I went to the city two days ago for my bday#it was a great day i bought so much b.l. and s.tar r.ail stuff#i did make a mistake on my part bc usually i buy one shots#bc i know its only one book instead of having to worry about an unknown number of volumes#i dont always follow this but i try to stick to one shots when buying b.l.#but with one of them i think i was really into the blurb that i failed to see the 1 on the cover indicating therell be more#eeh its fine if i like ill just collect it#but the other ones i read the blurbs and went 'oooo interesting! add to cart' and then physically put it in my shopping basket#the light novel tho that was intentional i love that series and i wanna see how sayaka's middle relationship played out#bc it did not end pretty from what we learned from the main series#i do have to finish it im up to vol 6#the p.r.s.k. book i was not expecting to see at kino like i didnt know it existed. but its p.r.s.k. so ofc i bought it#and now the merch. kino had a table and wall dedicated to ge.npa.ct and s.tar r.ail (more the former than the latter)#but i went ham on the s.tar r.ail stuff when i saw faves 2 and 3 (they only had up to xi.anzh.ou characters‚ no pe.nac.ony)#but that was ok i bought what i saw#and they even had bookmark sized boards of the aeons so i got my faves#the cards in the last pic came in a box and at first i thought they were blind boxes so i bought two but both had the same cards in them#so imma give one to my cousin and kept one for myself#this was the only way pen.aco.ny characters were available and look its my number one fave!! hes going in my photocard book#so while i don't play ge.nsh.in anymore i do like the characters and the lore#and i like Alh.ait.ham so when i saw something with him on it and it was the last one they had i bought it#its a keychain and a standee so i have him sitting on my desk rn#and then i saw only one instance of mi.lgr.am merch in the form of those keychains so i bought two with expressions i like#they didnt gave 02‚ 03 or 04 tho i was curious what they looked like

It's been so long since I've read anything kingkiller chronicles related but the narrow road between desires was so unexpectedly emotional and sweet

this is so stupid coming from a seasoned high-fantasy reader but i just opened a book and saw 8 pages of vocabulary needed to understand the book and immediately closed the book again
#1.) i don't have the brain capacity for that rn#2.) my local library opens again next week after being closed all summer so i gotta be picky about the books i read before they're all due#bc all the books checked out from said library when they closed isn't due back till the re-opening (3 months apart)#and i have 30 books checked out. oops#and 3.) the first few pages made it obvious these vocab words weren't going to be explained in the story#and if you're not gonna do that and expect me instead to flip back and forth to your 8 pages of definitions... im not reading it#that breaks to reading flow way too much and way too often#text post
