Bullshit, if you asked him.

I blame RP shenanigans making me wanna develop him into someone who covers up feeling like he’s phenomenally bad at being a person with a lot of bluster and attention-getting while also dealing with all the pollution gunking up his lungs and making him... well. An ass. Plus a totally headcanon’d family conflict that just Isn’t Working Out That Well.

Also fite me I like Tucker Foley because I feel like despite the occasional ghost envy he doesn’t lose sight of how important Danny’s humanity is and actually makes room for Danny to be a kid along with the hero business. He deserves some credit.

What's your rp pet peeve?

People shoving into my character’s physical spaces without any preamble, probably. 

Like, I’m down for spontaneity in play, don’t get me wrong, but unless we’ve had a chance to chat it up beforehand in ooc or I’ve set up a starter that places my character or I’m following up a starter that places their character or there’s a meme thing involved it’s really jarring when someone just bursts into my askbox with a HI I AM IN YOUR SPACE NOW if it’s not happening in-character on the internet.

Like, my characters are usually armed and dangerous and jumpy I’m not sure you wanna be doing that. Lasers to the faceballs.

I know this probably makes me hard to approach, especially to new people, but baby steps out of my comfort zone.

{I was thinking the same thing. And them sharing the same birthday could also explain how they met (if they both met each other on their birthday because they happened to have been taken to the same place to celebrate it)}

This place means different things to those who formed his core. For one, it’s an open garden, ripe for cultivation and harvest. For the other, it’s a prison, broad yet claustrophobic. For the Mares who adopted him as their own, this is a hunting range, and that’s the one that almost comes close.

But Fright knows himself to be a warrior at heart.

Alright okay alright.

Firstly I guess, you’re really…I dunno if trusting is the right word, but really. You didn’t really know me or Danny when we crashed at your place - fuck, you didn’t even like me first, you just saw we needed help and did something. That was a long while ago now but I still appreciate it. And I know we’re not the only ones.

You’re dealing with a lot of shit and we all know you don’t really know what you’re doing but you’re doing the best you can with it and going with what you think’s right so that’s a thumbs up.

You know you’ve got some bad shit that you’ve gotta work out and get better at and I know you’re working on it. Same hat sort of. Respect.

You’ve got a hero complex. No offense or anything, I haven’t met a Danny that doesn’t have one. Sometimes it’s a good thing? Not always.

I’m not really about positions of power. Not that it’s surprising. Just glad you aren’t technically our King-to-be. We’d give you a lot of shit.

I’m glad you’re happy with who you’re with. Just keep him out of the same room as us like it’s been and we’ll be good, yeah?

Put a word in my ask and I will write a Headcanon about it for my Muse.

In so many verses, the moment that Nocturne turns his back on nightmares is because he starts feeding on someone he knows and doesn’t realize until partway through, and has to struggle to stop himself. 

Between the horror of being a source of a loved one’s intimate suffering and the near-total loss of self-control and awareness, it’s a strong motivation to buck the habit. Once that’s managed, he becomes more and more aware of how Not Well feeding on nightmares makes him as a person, and how little actual enjoyment he gets out of driving someone down that road.

The power over waking reality isn’t worth the loss of self. 

Even if it keeps being tempting in moments he’s hyperaware of how ‘weak’ he is here...

A large basket addressed to both Clockwork and Nocturne is delivered by wisps to Nocturne's lair. It's filled with a variety of fruits and veggies, with a simple signed note wishing them well. Honestly Danny doesn't know if any of it will get put to use, but it doesn't hurt to be courteous.

...that’s new.  Clockwork almost hesitates to touch it, given the kinds of things he’s seen fruits just laying around Inner Space do before, but he figures a quick glance at the card is safe.  

From the Heir?  That’s sweet of him.  Clockwork makes a note to send something back later, that’s the tradition, right?  Close enough.
