fucking hate that classes require you to do online shit to understand the lectures nowadays. like motherfucker I signed up for an in-person class because I cannot learn with online classes. and yet. the professor does very little of the actual teaching, and we’re expected to learn the bulk of the course content from websites that we paid to subscribe to
I understand having readings and whatnot to go along with what we learn in class, but it’s the other way around for so many classes like why do I even bother showing up. why does tuition cost so goddamn much if we’re only learning from the thing we had to pay extra money for anyways.

I come late to organizing as a transgender activist. In doing so, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned transgendered people truly are everywhere and not just in New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C. I’ve learned many want to quietly assimilate into the white, heterosexual, middle class status quo that is the dominant culture of our nation. I’ve learned quite a few of us have no wish or desire for such assimilation — that for some of us, our greatest desire is to shake up that dominant culture, to question gender and identity on every level — social, biological, political and personal. I’ve learned that perhaps right at this moment there is a transgendered person — most likely an MTF transsexual or crossdresser, most likely a person of color, being brutally murdered. I’ve learned people much younger than I are coming out as transgendered in ways I never believed possible when I was their age and are challenging not only the status quo, but also calling on “old” activists like me to take another look around and see the world through their eyes. And I’ve learned that, perhaps like all other communities, we love to eat our own. Some of you reading this are aware of the controversies and conflicts swirling within the transgender community, most of which focus upon the organization GenderPAC. For those of you who aren’t up on it, here’s an abbreviated version. A significant number of transgender activists and community organizations have taken issue with GenderPAC’s expansion of its mission and vision to incorporate a larger view of gender rights rather than a specific and focused emphasis upon civil rights advocacy for transgendered people. Depending on whom you ask, this reinventing of GenderPAC is either the logical extension of its organizational vision to secure the rights of all people to free gender expression — or the cold-blooded abandonment of the very community by whom and for which it was created, nurtured and financially supported. Being the baby TG activist I am, I come to this drama late. Long after the battle lines were laid down. Long after sides were chosen, opinions formed and set in stone. Long after wounds (both real and imagined) were inflicted.
I’ve watched carefully for the past couple of years as the battle has played out online, in internet chat rooms, and on mailing lists. I’ve read statements from individuals and organizations that have taken a stand on the issue. I’ve received press releases and announcements from one camp or another; a battle of media propaganda that would make the veterans of the Cold War proud. And through it all, I’ve tried to be a rather casual observer, if one can be casual as they watch some of the best and brightest of their community consumed in an internal battle that threatens to tear the entire community apart. Of course my being a casual observer hasn’t stopped a few folks from demanding to know where I stand. I’ve been pulled aside at conferences and been given “information,” primarily innuendo and accusation, so I am up to speed on the situation. I’ve been directed to websites that were little more than character assassinations in badly laid-out HTML. And I’ve been emailed privately and off-list by those concerned I was going to make the “wrong choice.” Want to know what my answer to these people is? Okay, here it is — I really don’t care. That’s right. I DON’T CARE. You see, I believe almost everyone entangled in this controversy is acting in what they believe are the best interests of the community with which they feel most closely aligned. I believe they’re doing the best they can with what they have. I believe mistakes have been made by everyone involved, that the personal has become political in the most destructive of ways. I also believe in change and evolution; that even organizations that have had to be forced to listen to me and to consider my issues can learn from their mistakes and realize they must make a seat for me at the table if they are to truly realize the dream of civil rights for themselves and for others. But most of all, I believe in hope. I was asked point-blank whose side I was on. This is my answer: I am on the side of whoever has the guts and initiative to end this thing and make a real effort to move our community forward out of this debilitating and destructive conflict. I’m on the side of anyone who is more interested in healing the wounds than in proving who is right. I’m on the side of those who have the ability and the willingness to put aside their personal and political animosities and seek some way to bring together everyone involved to begin a healthy dialogue, one without finger-pointing and name-calling. Until that happens, I guess I’m on the side of those who are the most negatively affected by this dysfunctional family feud. In case anyone needs a refresher course as to who those folks are and the issues they are dealing with, allow me to introduce just a few of them. The transsexual FTM who has lost custody of his child when he began transition; the butch lesbian who lost her job because she refused to wear makeup or shave her legs; the crossdresser whose wife is seeking a divorce and custody of the children he adores; the effeminate gay man beaten to death and crucified on a fence on a lonely Midwestern plain; the 17-year-old MTF doing tricks in the back alleys of San Francisco because her parents kicked her out when they found “him” wearing dresses; the FTM who died of uterine cancer because he couldn’t get insurance approval for a hysterectomy after he had completed sexual reassignment. Ultimately, it is these transgender, transsexual and gender- variant people who have the most to lose if someone doesn’t step up to the plate to end this.

SysNotes devlog 1
Hiya! We're a web developer by trade and we wanted to build ourselves a web-app to manage our system and to get to know each other better. We thought it would be fun to make a sort of a devlog on this blog to show off the development! The working title of this project is SysNotes (but better ideas are welcome!)
Tumblr media
What SysNotes is✅:
A place to store profiles of all of our parts
A tool to figure out who is in front
A way to explore our inner world
A private chat similar to PluralKit
A way to combine info about our system with info about our OCs etc as an all-encompassing "brain-world" management system
A personal and tailor-made tool made for our needs
What SysNotes is not❌:
A fronting tracker (we see no need for it in our system)
A social media where users can interact (but we're open to make it so if people are interested)
A public platform that can be used by others (we don't have much experience actually hosting web-apps, but will consider it if there is enough interest!)
An offline app
So if this sounds interesting to you, you can find the first devlog below the cut (it's a long one!):
(I have used word highlighting and emojis as it helps me read large chunks of text, I hope it's alright with y'all!)
Tech stack & setup (feel free to skip if you don't care!)
The project is set up using:
Database: MySQL 8.4.3
Language: PHP 8.3
Framework: Laravel 10 with Breeze (authentication and user accounts) and Livewire 3 (front end integration)
Styling: Tailwind v4
I tried to set up Laragon to easily run the backend, but I ran into issues so I'm just running "php artisan serve" for now and using Laragon to run the DB. Also I'm compiling styles in real time with "npm run dev". Speaking of the DB, I just migrated the default auth tables for now. I will be making app-related DB tables in the next devlog. The awesome thing about Laravel is its Breeze starter kit, which gives you fully functioning authentication and basic account management out of the box, as well as optional Livewire to integrate server-side processing into HTML in the sexiest way. This means that I could get all the boring stuff out of the way with one terminal command. Win!
Styling and layout (for the UI nerds - you can skip this too!)
I changed the default accent color from purple to orange (personal preference) and used an emoji as a placeholder for the logo. I actually kinda like the emoji AS a logo so I might keep it.
Laravel Breeze came with a basic dashboard page, which I expanded with a few containers for the different sections of the page. I made use of the components that come with Breeze to reuse code for buttons etc throughout the code, and made new components as the need arose. Man, I love clean code 😌
I liked the dotted default Laravel page background, so I added it to the dashboard to create the look of a bullet journal. I like the journal-type visuals for this project as it goes with the theme of a notebook/file. I found the code for it here.
I also added some placeholder menu items for the pages that I would like to have in the app - Profile, (Inner) World, Front Decider, and Chat.
Tumblr media
i ran into an issue dynamically building Tailwind classes such as class="bg-{{$activeStatus['color']}}-400" - turns out dynamically-created classes aren't supported, even if they're constructed in the component rather than the blade file. You learn something new every day huh…
Tumblr media
Also, coming from Tailwind v3, "ps-*" and "pe-*" were confusing to get used to since my muscle memory is "pl-*" and "pr-*" 😂
Feature 1: Profiles page - proof of concept
This is a page where each alter's profiles will be displayed. You can switch between the profiles by clicking on each person's name. The current profile is highlighted in the list using a pale orange colour.
Tumblr media
The logic for the profiles functionality uses a Livewire component called Profiles, which loads profile data and passes it into the blade view to be displayed. It also handles logic such as switching between the profiles and formatting data. Currently, the data is hardcoded into the component using an associative array, but I will be converting it to use the database in the next devlog.
Tumblr media
New profile (TBC)
You will be able to create new profiles on the same page (this is yet to be implemented). My vision is that the New Alter form will unfold under the button, and fold back up again once the form has been submitted.
Alter name, pronouns, status
The most interesting component here is the status, which is currently set to a hardcoded list of "active", "dormant", and "unknown". However, I envision this to be a customisable list where I can add new statuses to the list from a settings menu (yet to be implemented).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alter image
I wanted the folder that contained alter images and other assets to be outside of my Laravel project, in the Pictures folder of my operating system. I wanted to do this so that I can back up the assets folder whenever I back up my Pictures folder lol (not for adding/deleting the files - this all happens through the app to maintain data integrity!). However, I learned that Laravel does not support that and it will not be able to see my files because they are external. I found a workaround by using symbolic links (symlinks) 🔗. Basically, they allow to have one folder of identical contents in more than one place. I ran "mklink /D [external path] [internal path]" to create the symlink between my Pictures folder and Laravel's internal assets folder, so that any files that I add to my Pictures folder automatically copy over to Laravel's folder. I changed a couple lines in filesystems.php to point to the symlinked folder:
Tumblr media
And I was also getting a "404 file not found" error - I think the issue was because the port wasn't originally specified. I changed the base app URL to the localhost IP address in .env:
Tumblr media
…And after all this messing around, it works!
(My Pictures folder)
Tumblr media
(My Laravel storage)
Tumblr media
(And here is Alice's photo displayed - dw I DO know Ibuki's actual name)
Tumblr media
Alter description and history
The description and history fields support HTML, so I can format these fields however I like, and add custom features like tables and bullet point lists.
Tumblr media
This is done by using blade's HTML preservation tags "{!! !!}" as opposed to the plain text tags "{{ }}".
(Here I define Alice's description contents)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(And here I insert them into the template)
Tumblr media
Traits, likes, dislikes, front triggers
These are saved as separate lists and rendered as fun badges. These will be used in the Front Decider (anyone has a better name for it?? 🤔) tool to help me identify which alter "I" am as it's a big struggle for us. Front Decider will work similar to FlowCharty.
Tumblr media
What next?
There's lots more things I want to do with SysNotes! But I will take it one step at a time - here is the plan for the next devlog:
Setting up database tables for the profile data
Adding the "New Profile" form so I can create alters from within the app
Adding ability to edit each field on the profile
I tried my best to explain my work process in a way that wold somewhat make sense to non-coders - if you have any feedback for the future format of these devlogs, let me know!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Disclaimers:
I have not used AI in the making of this app and I do NOT support the Vibe Coding mind virus that is currently on the loose. Programming is a form of art, and I will defend manual coding until the day I die.
Any alter data found in the screenshots is dummy data that does not represent our actual system.
I will not be making the code publicly available until it is a bit more fleshed out, this so far is just a trial for a concept I had bouncing around my head over the weekend.
We are SYSCOURSE NEUTRAL! Please don't start fights under this post
Ok so I asked co-pilot for some guidance on how I want my tumblr blog to be
✨ How to Start a Study Blog on Tumblr and Use It to Take Notes
In the age of aesthetic bullet journals and digital productivity, Tumblr has carved out a delightful little niche for academic enthusiasts — enter the studyblr. A study blog on Tumblr isn’t just a place to post your notes; it’s a motivational hub, a community, and an evolving personal archive of your academic journey. If you're dreaming of turning your study sessions into something beautiful and helpful — both for you and others — here's how to get started.
📚 Step 1: Set up Your Tumblr Blog
Starting your studyblr begins with the basics:
Create a Tumblr account at tumblr.com.
Choose a username that reflects your academic interests or goals (e.g., “notebookhaven,” “studywithlana,” or something uniquely you).
Pick a simple, clean theme. Many free Tumblr themes are well-suited for study blogs — minimalist layouts with good typography are your best friend.
📝 Step 2: Decide How You’ll Use Your Studyblr
A study Tumblr can take many forms. Ask yourself:
Will you post digital notes, screenshots, and summaries?
Do you want to share daily study logs or study challenges like “100 Days of Productivity”?
Are you using it as a revision resource, reblogging useful content and organizing it with tags?
Your blog can be as personal or community-oriented as you'd like. Some people write motivational posts and reflections; others use it purely to organize and publish class notes.
🖊️ Step 3: Take and Share Notes
You can create original posts directly in Tumblr's editor or design your notes elsewhere (e.g., Notion, OneNote, or Google Docs) and screenshot or paste them in:
Use clear formatting: headers, bullet points, highlights.
Add subject-specific tags so others can find your posts (#biology, #studyspo, #notes).
Include visual flair — aesthetic headers, doodles, or neat handwriting pics (if you take handwritten notes).
Link to longer documents or PDFs through Google Drive or Dropbox if your notes are too long to post natively.
🧠 Step 4: Organize Your Blog Like a Digital Notebook
Tumblr doesn’t have built-in folders, so tags become your best tool for organizing:
Create tags for each subject (e.g., #mathnotes, #historynotes).
You can make a navigation page using Tumblr’s HTML editor to link each tag — it’s like a clickable table of contents for your blog.
Keep things tidy by tagging by type as well: #originalpost, #printables, #revisiontips, etc.
🌍 Step 5: Join the Studyblr Community
One of the best things about Tumblr is the vibe: it’s collaborative, cozy, and full of people who love learning. You can:
Reblog from other studyblrs to add great content to your feed.
Join study challenges to stay motivated and consistent.
Interact with fellow learners, comment, and cheer each other on — it makes a difference.
🎯 Final Tips
Don’t feel pressure to be “aesthetic” all the time. Functionality and consistency matter most.
Set small goals for your blog — maybe one post a week or one new note set per subject.
Track your own academic journey. Future-you will be grateful.
Tumblr might not be the newest platform, but it’s perfect for expressive, niche communities like studyblrs. By turning your study process into shareable content, you can build both discipline and creativity — plus, your notes might just help someone else ace their exam.
Things I've learned about AO3 styling recently
It's rather difficult to work around the existing default styling of things like <p> and <h#>s. Better to use <div>s to circumvent that entirely.
If you use <p> and <div> elements in the same block, the <div> will inherit the <p> because AO3 puts freakin <p>s on EVERYTHING
^^ you don't need to add extra padding or margin on stuff a lot because of the existing margins on <p>s which, as we have noted, go on everything thanks to AO3's parser. Just keep it in mind.
ID css selectors don't work. Use classes instead.
AO3 doesn't really style lists or tables, so you can use those selectors without working around anything
Selectors like :nth-child still work though!!
Just keep your nesting organized and save your work somewhere where the tab stops and formatting makes sense, because AO3's html editor likes to move stuff around and it's hard to find after the fact. Keep a copy for editing.
My favorite thing in my web design class is going out of my way to avoid doing tables because I think they're the ugliest thing to look at in basic html
Kleptocracy is biological. It consumes everything in its path like a parasite.
In Russia it ate Dostoevsky and Tchaikovsky and shit out alcoholism and hopelessness.
Justin Kennedy (justice kennedys son) was the inside man at Deutsche bank that was getting all trumps toxic loans approved.
No other bank but Deutsche bank would touch trump and his imaginary valuations.
Why?
Because Deutsche bank was infested with Russian oligarchs.
For 50 years the oligarchs consumed everything in soviet Russia. They stole everything of value including the hope of Russians.
The corruption eventually collapsed the Soviet Union like the carcass of a parasite riddled host and the oligarchs were forced to expand their feeding grounds.
In 89 the Soviet Union fails and for a couple of years they hid all their ill gotten gains under a mattress until they started buying condos at trump towers.
They made stops in Ukraine, Cyprus and London but they landed in New York because that was what everyone wanted in the late 80’s.
Levi’s, Pepsi, Madonna tapes that weren’t smuggled bootlegs, Wall Street cocaine
They all bought new suits and cars and changed their title from “most violent street thug in moscow” to “respectable Russian oligarch” but they didn’t leave their human trafficking, narcotics or extortion behind. It was their most lucrative business model.
Trump and Giuliani just opened the doors and let the predators in to feed. They all bought condos at trump towers and used trumps casinos to launder their money.
In 89 three of trumps casino execs start asking why their books don’t make sense and they die in a helicopter crash that Roger Stone pulls trump off of at the last minute.
https://pressofatlanticcity.com/gallery/oct-10-1989-3-trump-execs-2-pilots-die-as-helicopter-crashes-in-parkway-median/article_40ea7e95-9309-5e01-89ba-7f6c30409ff3.html
Guiliani redirected NYPD resources away from his Russian allies intentionally and onto the Italian mob. It let him claim he cleaned up New York and it lets the russians a perk of doing business with trump.
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/09/a-new-rudy-scandal-fbi-agent-says-giuliani-was-co-opted-by-russian-intelligence/
The attorney/client privilege is their continual work around they use to accept bribes and make payments up and down the mob pyramid.
The insane valuations coming out in trumps fraud trial are a necessity of the money laundering cycle that duetschebank was doing with the Russians.
The reason trump cosplays as “folksy” is because he is feeding on the U.S. middle class, not because he is one of us.
The GOP fell in line to MAGA because Trump did what pathological liars do, they told them anything they wanted to hear.
Trump with his money laundering and child raping buddy Epstein, Roger Stone with his sex clubs in DC and Nevada, and Paul Manafort with his election rigging pretty much everywhere, sat down at a table with Mike Johnson and the extreme religious right and convinced them that they were the same.
They self evidently are not, at least at a surface level, but there is enough common ground in the exploitation of children, Russian kompromat, desire for unilateral control that they became the worlds weirdest and most dysfunctional orgy.
Trump belongs to the authoritarians. The GOP now belongs to trump.
But their overall goal is the same.
Kleptocracy.
Putin became one of the richest people in the world by stealing from Russians first. The Russian oligarchs used perestroika to privatize all the assets of the USSR by stealing them from the hands of the decent people because that’s what predators do.
We don’t have a political problem. We have a predator problem. Like murder hornets that invade a beehive and destroy a bee every 14 seconds until the hive collapses the oligarchs want to move into the United States and do the same because none of them want to live in Russia.
Who would? after all, it was destroyed by oligarchs and nobody steps away from the mob, they get retired through violent means.
But all these oligarchs are old now and know they can’t keep ahead of the slightly more violent and ambitious lion cub beneath them who is growing tired of paying the old man when he does all the dirty work.
The soviet oligarchs ate Russia to death with their greed. Then Ukraine. Now they are designing a perestroika 2.0 to put 330 million Americans into real estate default so they can come in and buy everything up at 3 cents on the dollar. Trump just enabled them.
It’s the collapse of the USSR, American edition using the naive and compromised GOP as their assault force, But your slave masters are the same. The 3% that are so devoid of empathy that they put their wealth above everything else
Kolomoisky was the putin puppet in Ukraine that bought most of downtown Cleveland.
Before that he started privatbank which was taking IMF loans which the oligarchs would loan to themselves and never repay.
When the IMF figured it out they tried to force Zelensky to have the Ukrainian people pay it back before they would extend any more aid.
Kolomoisky wasn’t alone. He was just the crossroads between Rudy Giuliani, trump and Kushner.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/inside-anatevka-the-curious-chabad-hamlet-in-ukraine-where-giuliani-is-mayor/
https://www.timesofisrael.com/giuliani-associates-leveraged-gop-access-to-seek-ukraine-gas-deal/
When Ukraine arrested him last year for corruption it cracked the whole network open.
Trump can’t stop lying now or his MAGA base tears him apart when they realize he is literally the man who stole the world.
Trump is a pathological liar. But lying is an expensive habit. If you tell the truth, you can say it once and it’s finished. You have expelled all the energy necessary for it to stand on its own for eternity.
Lying requires infinite and exponentially more energy input in the form of more lies, bribes, extortion and murder to keep it covered.
Trump is now testing this theory on a worldwide scale.
Putin is tied to him by the purse strings and so is everyone who pushes Putin’s narrative because puppet strings work both directions. Why would any sane human push a psychopaths lies unless they are heavily invested in it?
The difference is, this is the first time in known human history that the Information Age happened. You can hide your neighborhood bullshit in 1980. It’s harder in 2000. By 2024 the internet knows more about a narcissistic oligarchs movements than he knows about himself.
It’s just a matter of organizing that data.
They couldn’t self regulate their greed. It’s just following the roach trail back to nest after that.
The Great Produce 48 Rewatch: Ep 2, Phone Calls Home and Judges Table
Tumblr media
Hey, National Producer! It's always so nice to see you. Let's dive back into our amazing Produce48 rewatch!
When we left off with this ridiculous project, we had seen many of the trainees recording their evaluation performance for the grade reassignment, and I whispered to you sweetly to tell you what their grades were as we went along, in an effort to subvert MNET editing.
In this post, we'll cover the girls weepy phone calls home, usually to their moms, and then see some of the judges' table. Along the way, we'll find out more of their final grades, too. Get a whole box of tissues and watch along if you like: https://kshow123.tv/show/produce-48/episode-2.html
At 1:48:33, the segment begins. The girls are brought one at a time to a small room. They know what’s coming -- it’s phone call time! They’re handed a cell phone and told they can call one person who they can think of right now. Some of them start crying at the mere thought of it.
Tumblr media
Kim Dayeon, future Kep1er, cries even while the phone is still ringing. She’s only 15, poor kid. We never see any of her audition, but hopefully she will be happy when she finds out that she maintained her B-status.
We also see Sakura and Lee Gaeun, both calling their mothers. Gaeun’s greeting comes out in a tight squeak.
Tumblr media
Huh Yujin, future Le Sserafim, is so overcome that at first she can’t speak. Her mother says hello first in Korean and then in English, suggesting that she doesn’t recognize the phone number Yujin is calling from. Both her Mom and I want to hug her. I still can’t get over the judges moving her down to F!
Tumblr media
Choi Soeun, who auditioned with Question Mark and earlier said that B-class was communicating telepathically, communicates telephonically as well with her mom. We don’t see any of her audition, but later on she is moved down to C-class.
Park Chanju’s mother helpfully says, “you must have missed me so much. Stop crying.”
Sakura, who has gotten through to her mother, can’t speak. Her mother just keeps asking “Daijobu? Why are you crying?”
Tumblr media
Kato Yuuka’s mother asks her, “was there anything that bothered you?” Yuuka auditioned with Funny People, in the furry orange collar. If only Yuuka knew that in a few hours she would be moving up to B-class -- she could have told her mom the good news!
Tumblr media
They seem to be filming Jo Yuri through the tiny window in the door as she tells her mother, “I’m not quite meeting my own expectations.” We didn’t see any of her evaluation performance, but it apparently didn’t go well at all. I’m kind of surprised they didn’t show it, because it was so bad that she is going to move all the way from A to F. As we see later, she just totally froze in place during the recording. Poor kid.
Tumblr media
Pretty little Kang Damin, future Queenzeye, who auditioned in the pale yellow shirt alongside “mini-Sunmi” of the flat tummy, gets a pep talk from her mom. We later see a bit of her audition video, in which she’s really throwing herself into it -- she didn’t even need that pep talk! The judges move her up to A class. Good work, Damin!
Tumblr media
Individual trainee Park Jinny -- one of the ex-YG girls and future member of Secret Number -- gets a pep talk from her dad. Hopefully it’ll give her a bit of strength when she finds out shortly that the judges are moving her down from C to F.
Honda Hitomi gets a pep talk from her mom. She really is a cutey. We’ll see more of her during the judges’ evaluation part.
Tumblr media
Shitao Miu, who auditioned with Honda Hitomi to Mister and wore the cap on her belt, says she feels better hearing her mom’s voice, even though mom had scolded her right before she left. She interviews that she realized that she felt thankful toward her mom all along. She’s going to learn soon that she’s staying in D-class.
Tumblr media
Naiki Kokoro, who auditioned in Funny People (wearing green), says that she realized she’s not alone because she has her family.  That’s sweet! And soon she will have her friends in C-class, because the judges are moving her up!
Then we transition into the parents who laugh at their kids.
Tumblr media
The mother of husky-voiced Kim Hyuna asks her if she’s the oldest in the competition, and she says she thinks she is. She’s not -- that would be the multi-lingual Miyazaki Miho, who is 24 -- but at 23, Hyuna is definitely among the oldest. We’ll see more of her during the judges’ evaluation part.
Tumblr media
Park Minji, future member of Secret Number, gets asked if there’s anything she wants to eat when she gets home. Minji tells mom that she has plenty of food, and mom scolds her for eating instant noodles. Hopefully mom wouldn’t have scolded her for keeping her status in B class.
It’s kind of funny how both Park Minji and Park Jinny auditioned with the Chung-ha song Roller Coaster, though separately, given that they were destined to both be in Secret Number together.
Tumblr media
Cho Kahyeon, the girl from the Starship group who isn’t Wonyoung or An Yujin, is literally me talking to my mom. Her mom says Kahyeon is good enough to be there but can’t make her debut, because, apparently, Kahyeon is “fat”. Thanks, Mom! Thmom. Kahyeon tells her that she’s on speaker phone, and mom apologizes, but goes on to say that Kahyeon had said that “someone in Gugudan used to be fat” (I assume she’s talking about Kang Mina?), and Kahyeon’s dying of embarrassment that her mom is repeating all this on national tv.  Mom says, this won’t be aired, right? And Kahyeon, who is smart enough to know what’s up, is like “yeah, I don’t know about that.” I wonder if Mom would have been proud to know that Kahyeon stayed in B class, or if she would have scolded her for not moving up?
Judges Table
Tumblr media
At 1:51:26, the judges assemble for the grade evaluation.
The judges talk about how they’re expecting the Japanese trainees to do well at looking at the camera. They watch Gaeun’s and Sakura’s performances -- both great, as you may recall, so they both keep their A status -- then Jeremy is super excited to see Lee Chaeyeon. He actually says “Oh my God!” in English, which is pretty cute.
Tumblr media
The judges say that she was sick during the training period and couldn’t take lessons from the teacher, so she must have taught herself. She does great -- singing, dancing, performance. They love her -- Dance Bae says “I want more trainees like her.” As we find out later, she keeps her A status.
Next is Cherry Bullet’s Park Haeyoon, and Jeremy says “Please do well.” But…
Tumblr media
… things don’t go well for my new Cherry Bullet bias. Oh no! She forgets the words, and I think she forgets the steps. Her voice sounds tired and strained. Dance Bae snarks, “I don’t know why I’m even watching this to the end.” It’s a real bummer. Jeremy apologizes to the other judges -- the joke is that he’s from the same agency, FNC  -- and Soyou says “Her strength is in high pitches. I even marked her name” (ie, Soyou had noticed her at the audition) “but she isn’t good.” Oh no!! As we find out later, she gets placed in D class, a huge downgrade from A.
Next up is Jang Gyu Ri, fromis_9 member, who we saw audition with Chewing Gum (she was the pink one). The judges comment on how pretty she is.
Tumblr media
We only see a bit of her audition, but she doesn’t seem to even try to sing. She must have forgotten the lyrics completely. As we find out later, she gets placed in F class, a huge downgrade from B.
Next is Kim Choyeon, the fire-eyes girl who we talked about earlier. (If you forgot, she is going to move down from A to C.)
Then Cho Sa Rang, the little 14 year old who sang the song from Annie as part of her audition.
Tumblr media
She has a complete brain failure, poor kid. We find out later that she gets moved down to F, a pretty far fall from B.
Tumblr media
Shin Suhyun, who auditioned by herself with the song Playing With Fire and who had voice-over-ed earlier that the Japanese trainees were impressive in their revaluation, also goes blank. The judges roll their eyes. We find out later that she also gets moved down to F.  The show really, really hates this girl. Other trainees also don't do a great job, but the show never misses an opportunity to shit on poor punching bag Shin Suyhun.
Next is Park Jieun, future ex-Purple Kiss, who, as we discussed earlier, really blows it. The judges are getting fed up, saying that all their aces are disappointing them.
Next up is Goto Moe, who had lost her voice in the audition. They’re all excited -- Jeremy says she’s on his “A-list.”
Tumblr media
She starts off wrong, but she keeps going, and though she gets kind of shrill and shouty, she’s actually kind of on key. She’s not nearly as nasal as most of the Japanese trainees. The judges find her charming and unique. We find out later that she has been moved up to C-class, which is huge, and I think well-deserved. Nice work, Moe!
Next is Mogi Shinobu, our living meme girl, who as we discussed earlier, moves up to D.
Then Murase Sae, who we met during her performance of Funny People, in which she wore the worst outfit.
Tumblr media
Dance Bae, impressed with Sae’s energy, offers her own kind of praise: “She’s so horrible -- but I want to teach her.” Mary J Lee, who has been working with the D class girls, says “She’s a hard worker.” We later on find out that they have moved her up to C. Good work, Sae!
Next is dancer Nakano Ikumi, who we discussed earlier. Her energy and enthusiasm, as well as her obvious improvement, moves Dance Bae to ruminate, “I had expected to scold the Japanese trainees a lot today, but I really have no comment. They’re just not experienced.”  See, she’s not a psychopath the way that Psychopath is, you guys. I swear she’s not. Dance Bae adds that the Korean trainees should prepare well because the Japanese girls are coming for them.
We’re reminded that the girls needed to learn the songs in both languages, and then we see “mini Chung-ha”, little Lee Ha Eun again (we saw her earlier). She seems to rock the Japanese version, proving why she deserves to keep her A status.
Next up is future Lightsum’s Kim Nayoung, who auditioned with I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend.
Tumblr media
She has no trouble hitting the high notes, and just generally seems to be doing great. Dance Bae -- who, mind you, has been teaching her in C class for the past day or two -- says in surprise, “Why is she in C-class?” Jeremy calls her a hidden treasure. We find out later that she had been moved up to A. Great work, Nayoung!
The next few girls are each shown for a few seconds each, as a sort of montage of trainees who can’t remember any of the lyrics to the Japanese version of the song.
The first in this group is Kim Doah, future Fanatics member and GP999 contestant, who psyches herself out a bit trying to sing in Japanese.
Tumblr media
We find out later that she is moved down to C from A. Poor kid! I still like you, Doah.
Next is Kwon Eunbi, who we discussed earlier.  (She crashed and burned and was moved down to C.)
Then Kim Yubin from CNC school -- part of Dayeon’s group.
Tumblr media
She keeps smiling but doesn’t sing a note. We find out later that she gets moved down to D class.
Next is husky voiced Kim Hyunah, who apparently isn’t showing her vocals here…
Tumblr media
… though she must do really well otherwise, because the judges later decide to keep her in class B.
Next is Kim Dahye from Banana Culture, who we talked about earlier.
Then it’s Honda Hitomi, the one that we saw a lot of in the dance lessons. The class had high expectations of her -- and she seems to be delivering.
Tumblr media
My favorite is Dance Bae asking, “Is she singing in Korean?” I mean, if you have to ask…? But still, gotta respect the hustle. The judges certainly do, and we find out later on that she has been moved to A group. Nice work, Hitomi!
She’s not the only Japanese trainee to memorize the lyrics in Korean. (I’m still not clear on whether or not they were required to.)
We see a nanosecond of Imada Mina -- who we discussed earlier -- then a nanosecond of Tanaka Miku, the girl in F-class with the cute bangs who was hanging out with Bibian and Nako when Erii was getting yelled at. It was hard to get a screenshot of her, but she was doing a decent job, and we find out later that she moves up to C class.
We also see a nanosecond of Kurihara Sae, one of the members of the Never Ending Ferris Wheel group. Like many of her teammates, she’s putting her heart into it. The judges are going to put her in D class.
Tumblr media
We see a fair bit of Iwate Saho’s evaluation. She was in Dancing Hero, and she’s the one we saw learning the choreo from H1-Key Riina in her class. I guess the lessons didn’t really stick. She seems to sort of improvise new steps or something, making all the judges laugh, and though Psychopath says “my heart wants to give her an A,” they ultimately move her down to D-class.
Then we see a nanosecond each of CNC School’s Yoon Eunbin -- she’s REALLY throwing herself into it, maintaining her place in B class -- and Kang Damin, who we discussed earlier, letting out a cute high pitched “hoo!”.
After that, there’s Ko Yujin, who auditioned with Lip and Hip and who claims to look a bit like HyunA, and the judges love her. They say she looks like top-5 material to them.
Tumblr media
The judges are going to move her up from C to A, reversing the fate of Kim Cho Yeon, the “fire”-eyes girl who also auditioned with Lip and Hip and went from A to C.
Then we see Yabuki Nako, who the judges love. We actually get a mini montage of her in dance class, and learn that she’s the other trainees’ pick as most likely to succeed.
Tumblr media
She does great -- vocals, dance, performance, it’s all there. Sure, it’s not the style of singing I love, but darned if she isn’t on key despite jumping up and down the whole time. It’s good. We find out later that the judges move her from F all the way up to A! Sugoi! Congrats, Nako-chan!
As episode 2 draws to a close, we see the judges leaving judging table to meet with the girls in their respective classrooms, and the editors tease us with a bit of what’s going to happen next.
Jeremy talks to the A class, and is cagey about how many of their grades have changed. I’ll tell you that it’s 8.
Psychopath tells the B class that 17 people’s grades have changed.
Cheetah tells the C class that 18 people’s grades have changed.
Mary J Lee tells the D class that 12 people’s grades have changed.
Dance Bae tells the F class that 9 people’s grades have changed.
There are 15 girls in D, but only 11 are present, and there are 17 girls in F but only 9 are present. It also looks like Sakura and Miyu aren’t present in the A-class. This is because -- as we learn later -- a bunch of the AKB girls had professional obligations back in Japan.
What’s really odd about the preview is that it straight up shows us that Lee Gaeun and Sakura have both gotten an A, but then we just see other girls being handed their grades without finding out what that new grade is. They also show a completely, 100% pixelated blob walking down the hallway with a caption letting us know that someone has fallen from A class to F class. Again, what's the point of showing the pixelated blob, MNET? They could just as easily show us a wall with a sign that says "I'm just wasting time."
Tumblr media
Sooooo close this time, AI image generator. Soooo close.
Anyway, that’s the end of the episode! Woot!
In the next episode, they’re going to dick around and waste time forever and day without telling you who is what new class, but you’ll already know the fates of at least 53 of them! Because you live in the FUTURE!!!!!1!
Then they show the ranking of the 96 girls as they stood at the time. I’ll give you a quick reminder of who each girl is and note any rank changes of more than 20 spots (or just notable changes) from the previous ranking. It’s worth noting that all three girls from the polka dotted Celeb Five audition leaped up significantly. Also, all future members of IVE, Everglow, and Le Sserafim are in the top 25.  I bolded names of people you might have heard of because they debuted in groups later on and are still active. Atención Tsunami "Core" 2024 Madrid,Spain Alternative,Indie Rock,Math Rock,Emo
full spotify
More 'core' than 'cora', Atención Tsunami return after five years of record silence with an absolutely expansive rock album. When they want to, they get punk and abrasive; when they want they pick up the most emotional faction of rock; when they want to resignify the sound of alternative rock from the 90s; when they want to, they electrify the spoken word by cornering it in a diffuse and hypnotic genre; when they want to, they tighten and loosen the strings of what the new rock should sound like. "Core" is the most complete album of Atención Tsunami that continues to reinvent themselves with each album and that is a genre in itself in the Spanish underground rock. A cult group that makes the leap to expand their sound without perverting their identity, while maintaining the necessary level of criticism, sarcasm and irony in an era in which rock artists do not get wet for anything. They come soaking wet from home. They have already been warning from the name......~ The people of Madrid maintain a pessimistic, grey and cold vision of everyday life, recited and shouted rather than sung; they could be the most pretentious in the place and it happens quite the opposite, that the lyrics and music end up finding enough emotional charge so that they are not weighed down by their artie mood. Also its bursts of humor (that the dark side of the force is full of people, crying like soccer players)...~ The core. It is everything. "You have to feel it in the core," the spin instructor told me in my first class. He was referring to the core, the knot of my stomach. Guess. Then we have grindcore, metalcore, easycore and, of course, hardcore which is the mother of all cores and the one that also gave birth to all the posts there have been and to be. That's where Atención Tsunami comes from and they refer to that essence in their fifth album, five years after a "VLTRA" (2019) that was muted by the pandemic. In a way it is as if with this album the people of Madrid vindicate themselves more than ever, banging on the table to claim that outstanding attention that they deserve for at least a decade and have rarely been given to them by the media and the (great) public. Everything sounds more concise (ten songs in 32 minutes), more virulent, more forceful. They have gone straight and to the point. It is inevitable to remember the outburst of the current Viva Belgrado in "Rentistas" or the solidity that León Benavente has always shown in "A Room with a View". They are in that league. It's something that is already perceived from the electric riff of "Máquina violenta", which asks for asylum in your head from minute one. And that doesn't mean they have forgotten to perfect their most dreamy vis, the one that in past installments reminded us of the shoegaze and pop Africanism that became so fashionable a decade ago, peppered in their case with doses of sarcasm: there are "Politicize your stress", "Fahrenheit", "The new old roll" or "Happy Days". I can't say if this album, again with production by Raúl Pérez in La Mina and mastering by Víctor García in Ultramarinos, is the best of his career. What is certain is that he is the one who raises his hand the loudest to demand that they be listened to....Carlos Pérez de Ziriza...mondosonoro....~ Credits Drums – Aarón Palazón Electric Bass, Synth – Miguel Bellas Electric Guitar, Lyrics By, Lead Vocals – Álvaro Marcos Electric Guitar, Synth – David Moralejo, Ignacio Jiménez Tracklist 01 Máquina Violenta 3:43 02 Rentistas 2:20 03 Una Habitación Con Vistas 2:47 04 Emo 2:08 05 Con Todas Nuestras Fuerzas 4:10 06 Politiza Tú Estrés 3:14 07 Gente Sonriendo En Fotos 3:28 08 Farenheit 4:14 09 El Nuevo Viejo Rollo 3:44 10 Días Felices 2:16
Why Forms and Validation Matter in Angular 19
Efficient and accurate form handling is crucial for creating robust applications. With Angular 19, developers can build forms that are easy to manage, validate, and maintain. Improved form handling ensures a smooth user experience and reduces the chances of submitting incorrect data.
Types of Forms in Angular 19
Angular 19 supports two primary types of forms:
Template-Driven Forms: Ideal for simple forms and based on Angular templates.
Reactive Forms: Suitable for complex and dynamic forms with greater control and scalability.
Comparison: Template-Driven vs. Reactive Forms
Feature Template-Driven Forms Reactive Forms Setup Complexity Simple Moderate Form Control Limited Extensive Validation Declarative Programmatic Performance for Large Forms Moderate High
Template-Driven Forms in Angular 19
Template-driven forms are easier to set up and are useful for simpler form requirements. These forms rely heavily on Angular directives and are defined directly in the HTML template.
Setting Up a Template-Driven Form
<form #userForm="ngForm" (ngSubmit)="onSubmit(userForm)"> <label for="name">Name:</label> <input type="text" id="name" name="name" ngModel required /> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input type="email" id="email" name="email" ngModel required /> <button type="submit">Submit</button> </form>
Handling Form Submission
onSubmit(form: NgForm) console.log('Form Submitted', form.value);
Validating Template-Driven Forms
Validation in template-driven forms is done using Angular directives such as required, minlength, and pattern.
Example of Validation
  Reactive Forms in Angular 19
Reactive forms are highly flexible and suited for more complex scenarios. They use a model-driven approach and provide robust validation features.
Setting Up a Reactive Form
First, import the required modules:
import FormGroup, FormControl, Validators from '@angular/forms'; export class UserFormComponent userForm = new FormGroup( name: new FormControl('', [Validators.required]), email: new FormControl('', [Validators.required, Validators.email]), ); onSubmit() console.log(this.userForm.value);
Reactive Form Template
<form [formGroup]="userForm" (ngSubmit)="onSubmit()"> <label for="name">Name:</label> <input id="name" formControlName="name" /> <div *ngIf="userForm.controls.name.invalid && userForm.controls.name.touched"> Name is required. </div> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input id="email" formControlName="email" /> <div *ngIf="userForm.controls.email.invalid && userForm.controls.email.touched"> Enter a valid email. </div> <button type="submit">Submit</button> </form>
  Custom Validation in Angular 19
Custom validators allow developers to implement validation logic that suits specific requirements.
Creating a Custom Validator
import AbstractControl, ValidationErrors from '@angular/forms'; export function usernameValidator(control: AbstractControl): ValidationErrors | null const forbidden = /admin/.test(control.value); return forbidden ? forbiddenName: value: control.value : null;
Using the Custom Validator
name: new FormControl('', [Validators.required, usernameValidator])
Best Practices for Angular 19 Forms
Use Reactive Forms for Complex Scenarios: Provides better scalability and maintainability.
Implement Custom Validators: Address unique business logic.
Utilize Angular Directives: Simplify form handling.
Always Sanitize and Validate User Input: To prevent security vulnerabilities.
Test Form Behavior: Ensure form validation works as expected.
Final Thoughts
Angular 19 forms and validation offer robust features that enable developers to build efficient and secure web applications. Whether using template-driven or reactive forms, mastering form handling techniques will significantly enhance your development process.
Keep learning & stay safe 😉
Preschool children are not "little adults" that simply require less amounts of the same foods as adults. For instance, according to Wittman (2013), young people aged 3 and 4 years are typically called preschoolers and have special nutritional needs that must be satisfied in order to ensure proper development. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's "Choose My Plate" recommendations for 3- and 4-year-old children for various food groups are set forth in Table 1 below. Recommended Daily Servings for 3- and 4-Year-old Children 3-Year-old Children 4-Year-old Children Fruits cup of fruits to 1-1/2 cups of fruit Vegetables cup of vegetables 1-1/2 cups of vegetables Grains ounce equivalents of grains ounce equivalents of grains Protein ounce equivalents of protein ounce equivalents of protein Dairy cups of dairy 2-1/2 cups of dairy Oils teaspoons teaspoons Source: Adapted from Wittman, 2013 Studies have confirmed that preschool children from low-income families suffer more nutritional deficiencies compared to their counterparts from middle-class families (Doong & Shariff, 2008). Moreover, preschool children from low-income families also have a higher prevalence of obesity compared to their middle-class counterparts, which has been attributed to higher consumption levels of high-fat content foods such as fast and junk foods (Doong & Shariff, 2008). A number of health conditions related to obesity that were once believed applicable to adults only have recently been seen in children with increasing frequency, including hypertension, early signs of hardening of the arteries, type 2 diabetes, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, disordered breathing during sleep and polycystic ovary disorder (Daniels, 2006). Parents typically try to promote healthy eating habits among preschoolers by providing them with the recommended portions of vegetables and fruit each day and ensuring they eat breakfast (Cariun, Taut & Baban, 2012). In fact, research indicates that poor eating habits such as consuming too many sweets or skipping breakfast typically begin during the transition period between childhood and adolescence (Cariun et al., 2012). Most preschoolers (60%) consume too much fat in their diets, and only about a third (34% of boys and 33% of girls) consume the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables each day (Cariun et al., 2012). Nearly a quarter (24%) of young people eat too many high-fat, low-nutritional value foods, particularly fried foods, candy, soft drinks and cookies (Cariun et al., 2012). As a child, the only punishments used to compel me to eat the proper foods was being forced to remain at the table on occasion until I at least tried new foods (a time-consuming enterprise on many occasions). Rewards consisted of going to A&W for ice-cold root beer and hot dogs or making homemade peach ice cream on hot summer nights at the grandparents (this was the best ice cream and time ever). Overcoming picky eating habits can be a challenge for many parents, but parents can help promote healthy eating habits by ensuring their preschoolers eat breakfast and are provided with the above-listed recommended daily servings of fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, dairy and oils.
