While I’m talking, Cloud almost killing Tifa in Gongaga is not just a ‘would that be fucked up or what’ moment or even because Tifa has the true memories/proof to counter Sephiroth’s lies (though, that is part of it). It’s also because killing Tifa is the antithesis of who Cloud is. It’s the antithesis of the little boy who put his life on the line to save her and then dedicated his life to becoming strong enough to protect her. The antithesis of his promise to be there for her and the feelings behind it. “Cloud” and “Tifa’s killer” cannot coexist. “Cloud,” the boy defined by a desire to protect Tifa, cannot survive this. That’s why Sephiroth is trying so hard to get Cloud to kill Tifa. Sephiroth could kill her himself and that would still be majorly bad for Cloud’s true identity as he’d still lose his only tether to reality and the symbol of his conscience. But it wouldn’t be as effective as having Cloud do the honors. Sephiroth needs Cloud to kill the light in his own heart. He needs Cloud to kill his self. And there is no more definitive way than this.

i love lucisev in any flavor its given to me but in particular i really enjoy 1) lucisev thats been together since pre going back in time and dont even remember when they “happened” theyve just always been a forever constant and comfort without having to label it or eachother until they dont have it anymore (being separated post time jump) and 2) lucisev that has never happened and its been a pining disastrous mess for years on both ends but then selena leaves for nohr and when laslow and odin ask what she’s holding herself back for she doesnt answer but they already know. when they come back home, selena searches everywhere for her and sometimes, she’s too late. lucina’s already packed up and left the world behind, and for what? no one really knows. but sometimes, she finds her again, but it’s been so long and lucina’s not sure they can go back to being the same way they used to be, not after feeling hurt and betrayed by severa’s sudden departure. but things like this take time, and selena is finally at a place in her life where she can decidedly say she has all of the time in the world.

Hey. I’m outsourcing some research here.

Some of the hopeless people I’ve been seeing are feeling this way because they’re afraid of arbitrary government/bureaucratic decisions.

I’m not arguing about the politics of any of this right now.

What I want to do is to put together a list of aid and charity groups in the US that can supplement/replace government assistance. I know they exist. And I know it can be hard to know where to look for it, especially given how effed up google’s search engine is becoming.

Now, I’m pretty good at finding the Christian groups. Especially ones that give aid regardless of who you are or what you believe. I’ve even found a few non-Christian but still religious groups for those who are adverse to receiving help from Christians. These appear to be mainly Sikh and Jewish groups.

Where I’m struggling is finding national secular aid for those who refuse to interact with religion at all. Every secular aid group I’m finding is either international or disaster oriented. And the national everyday aid groups I thought I found turned out to still be Christian, just not as explicit about it.

So basically, I’m asking if you have any suggestions for non-government, US-centered, non-religious, aid and charity groups focusing on food, shelter/rent-assistance , and medical aid. Or a centralized resource for finding local and/or state based orgs. If they don’t exist, so be it. But I’ve gotta try.

I’m so desperate I’m considering asking r/atheism on Reddit. Please help me avoid having to do that.
