Why Last-Mile Delivery Software Is a Must-Have for Delivery Apps in 2025
Tumblr media
In 2025, the delivery industry is undergoing a rapid transformation—and the spotlight is firmly on last-mile delivery. As customer expectations for same-day and instant delivery grow across the UK and USA, businesses must rethink how they fulfill orders from warehouse to doorstep.
Did you know? According to PwC, 87% of consumers consider fast delivery a major factor in purchasing decisions. And 53% of shoppers abandon carts due to slow delivery times (Statista). This makes last-mile delivery not just important—it’s a critical part of your online ordering and delivery business strategy.
So, what is last-mile delivery? It’s the final step in the supply chain, where goods are delivered from a local hub or store to the customer’s location. Surprisingly, it accounts for over 50% of total shipping costs (McKinsey), making it both the most expensive and complex part of logistics.
Why Businesses Are Turning to Last-Mile Delivery Software
Ventagenie recommends that modern businesses adopt last-mile delivery software to stay competitive and efficient. Here’s why:
Multiple Orders Per Trip: Advanced delivery systems now support multi-drop delivery, letting drivers fulfill several orders in a single route. This reduces operational costs and increases efficiency.
On-Demand Driver Networks: With gig-based models on the rise, businesses can tap into flexible driver pools similar to Uber or DoorDash. Ventagenie’s delivery app solution fully supports this approach for dynamic dispatching.
Smart Routing & Real-Time Tracking: AI-powered route optimization helps drivers avoid traffic and delays—cutting delivery times by up to 30%. Customers also enjoy live updates, improving transparency and trust.
Did You Know?
Failed deliveries can cost up to $17 per package (Forbes).
45% of customers won’t shop again after a bad delivery experience (Convey).
Businesses using last-mile software reduce delivery expenses by 20–30% (McKinsey).
The Benefits Go Beyond Speed
Adopting smart logistics technology isn’t just about speed—it’s about delivering a better experience while managing costs.
Lower Operational Costs: With route efficiency and fewer failed deliveries, businesses save on fuel and labor.
Faster, Reliable Delivery: Same-day and hyperlocal options improve satisfaction and increase repeat orders.
Scalable Growth: Whether you're a local store or a growing chain, having a strong last-mile system allows smooth expansion into new areas.
Trends to Watch in 2025
Businesses in the UK and USA are embracing new technologies that make last-mile logistics smarter and more sustainable. From AI-powered routing and multiple orders per trip to electric delivery bikes and smart lockers, the industry is shifting toward automation and eco-efficiency.
One standout feature? Ventagenie’s delivery app includes real-time GPS tracking, automated dispatching, and white-label branding—making it perfect for businesses that want to scale fast without sacrificing service quality.
In the world of online ordering and delivery, staying ahead means investing in the right tools. With last-mile delivery expected to shape the future of e-commerce, businesses must be proactive.
Ventagenie offers scalable, customizable, and affordable solutions tailored for both startups and established brands. Whether you're delivering food, groceries, medicine, or retail items, their last-mile delivery software helps you streamline operations and delight customers.

Next-Gen Convenience: Instant Grocery Delivery App Development Explored
Tumblr media
In the fast-paced digital era, convenience is the currency of the realm. As consumers increasingly seek efficiency and immediacy in their daily lives, the kingdom of on-demand grocery delivery has emerged as a transformative force. This article delves into the burgeoning trend of instant grocery delivery app development, exploring the key features, technological innovations, and the impact of these applications on the evolving landscape of the grocery delivery sector.
The Rise of On-Demand Grocery Delivery
In recent years, on-demand services have become integral to modern living. From ride-sharing to food delivery, the convenience of accessing services with a few taps on a smartphone has reshaped consumer expectations. One domain where this convenience has found particular resonance is in the realm of grocery delivery.
The phrase "Grocery delivery near me" has become a typical search query, underscoring the growing demand for efficient and timely grocery solutions. Consumers are no longer content with the traditional model of grocery shopping; instead, they seek the immediacy and flexibility offered by on-demand grocery delivery apps.
The Need for Speed: Instant Grocery Delivery Defined
The core proposition of instant grocery delivery lies in its name — immediacy. Users are drawn to the promise of having their groceries delivered to their doorstep in minutes rather than hours. The concept is reshaping the landscape of grocery delivery, challenging traditional models and setting new standards for convenience.
Key Features of Instant Grocery Delivery Apps
1. Real-Time Inventory Management:
Central to the success of instant grocery delivery apps is real-time inventory management. These apps leverage advanced technologies to sync their inventory with the available stock, ensuring that users can only browse and order items immediately available for delivery.
2. Geolocation Services:
Geolocation services play a pivotal role in the instant delivery model. Users can pinpoint their location, allowing the app to connect them with the nearest available grocery stores. This feature ensures speed and reduces the environmental impact associated with longer delivery routes.
3. User-Friendly Interfaces:
The user interface of instant grocery delivery apps is designed for speed and simplicity. Users should be able to navigate the app quickly, select their items, and place an order seamlessly. Intuitive design contributes significantly to the overall user experience.
4. Automated Payment and Checkout:
Streamlining the checkout process is crucial in the quest for instant delivery. These apps often integrate automated payment methods, reducing the time it takes for users to finalize their orders. Quick and secure transactions enhance the overall efficiency of the service.
5. Efficient Logistics and Delivery Networks:
Behind the scenes, instant grocery delivery apps rely on sophisticated logistics and delivery networks. Algorithms optimize delivery routes, and partnerships with local stores ensure a constant supply of products. These apps often collaborate with delivery drivers and use advanced tracking systems to ensure the fastest possible delivery times.
Meeting the Needs of Diverse Consumer Groups
1. Catering to Busy Professionals:
Instant grocery delivery apps cater to the needs of busy professionals who value time as a precious commodity. The ability to have fresh produce and essential items delivered almost instantly aligns with the fast-paced lifestyle of individuals with demanding schedules.
2. Serving the Elderly Population:
For seniors or individuals with limited mobility, instant grocery delivery is a lifeline. These apps provide a convenient and reliable solution for those who may find it challenging to navigate traditional grocery shopping, offering independence and accessibility.
3. Addressing Last-Minute Needs:
Life is unpredictable, and sometimes consumers have last-minute needs for groceries. Instant delivery apps are a reliable solution for unexpected situations, ensuring that users receive essential items promptly.
Freshness Matters: The Instant Grocery Advantage
One of the concerns often associated with instant delivery is the compromise on product freshness. However, leading instant grocery delivery apps prioritize sourcing fresh and high-quality products. By maintaining efficient supply chains and real-time inventory updates, these apps ensure that users receive products with the same freshness as they would find in-store.
Challenges and Considerations
Despite the rapid growth and popularity of instant grocery delivery, challenges persist. Ensuring the availability of a wide range of products, managing peak demand periods, and optimizing delivery routes to reduce environmental impact are ongoing considerations for app developers and service providers.
The Technological Backbone: AI and Data Analytics
The success of instant grocery delivery hinges on the integration of advanced technologies. Artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics are crucial in optimizing inventory management, predicting user preferences, and fine-tuning delivery logistics. These technologies empower instant grocery delivery apps to learn from user behaviour, enhance the overall user experience, and continuously improve their services.
The Future Landscape of Grocery Delivery
As technology continues to advance and consumer expectations evolve, the future of grocery delivery appears dynamic and promising. Instant grocery delivery apps will likely play a pivotal role in shaping this future, setting new standards for convenience, speed, and customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, the advent of instant grocery delivery app development marks a significant milestone in the evolution of on-demand services. These apps not only cater to the growing demand for convenience but also redefine the notion of speed in grocery shopping. As technology advances and user preferences evolve, the instant grocery delivery trend is poised to become a cornerstone of the next generation of convenience-driven consumer experiences.

Carlos Sainz x pregnant!reader request "Pls make a Carlos x pregnant reader + tons of fluff him taking care of reader đŸ«¶đŸ«¶"
A/N: Please request - my inbox is open again and as always please consider donating to my sick cat's vet fund - we are currently waiting a surgical opinion for the wound under her arm that hasn't healed.
@callsign-swan @ice-man-goes-bwoah @vroomvroomcircuit
The moment the pregnancy test you’d taken in a hotel room one race weekend showed two lines, Carlos had been in ‘papa mode’ as you so lovingly called it. He’d gone into full protective mode, getting you an appointment with his doctor, prenatal vitamins and downloading all of the pregnancy and parenting apps to his phone. He treated you like you were carrying the most precious thing in the world, because to him you were. That was his baby.
Sure, he would never show it but you knew he was nervous, particularly in the beginning before you’d passed your first trimester and gotten out of the danger zone and could finally start telling people. Still, even after telling everybody nothing made it more real than when your bump started showing. Carlos would protectively place his hand over your stomach, sometimes without even realising it. His hand would always find your stomach as you walked through the crowded paddock.
In the first few weeks of your pregnancy you travelled with him, not wanting to be apart from him for too long and still wanting to support him. You weren’t too nauseous at first, sitting in the shade of the paddock with your CS55 cap on and ice water in hand. When he finished P1 in Australia he ran up to you and kissed you, calling you and his bambina his good luck charm. He was convinced from the beginning you were having a daughter. He jumped over the barrier and pulled you into the safest and softest hug he could manage.
“My good luck charms,” he murmured against your hair, one hand coming between you to press against your barely there bump.
By the time you hit the middle of your second trimester, the fatigue was no joke. The nausea hadn’t completely gone away but was still there, less intense but just as annoying. The long uncomfortable flights, different cuisines and time zone shifts were all taking their toll.
After back-to-back races during the middle of your second trimester you woke up crying when Carlos’ alarm had gone off. The combination of exhaustion, discomfort and the hormones had left you a sobbing mess. Carlos was out of the bed at your side in an instant. He kissed your tear soaked cheeks and whispered soft reassurances to you. When you calmed down enough, he climbed into bed beside you once more and pulled you into his chest “no more races, amor. You need rest, okay?”
You didn’t argue with him.
So for the next race you stayed at home, your home comforts within reach and Carlos promised he’d bring the race to you. He facetimed between practice sessions when he could and between debriefs with the team. Whenever he had a second to spare he’d be checking in on you. You’d answer with complaints of everything HIS child was putting you through, because at this moment it was his child. Swollen ankles, hot flushes, nausea.
He phoned you before the race where you were lying on the sofa with the fan blowing and a bowl of crackers on your lap.
“I threw up my fruit salad. Fruit salad Carlos. Your child betrayed me,” you complained.
He smiled at you, “do I need to have a word with my little bambina?”
A sharp kick caused you to let out a groan. Carlos was on alert immediately the moment you showed your discomfort.
“Amor?”
“I’m okay. Your child is kicking me,” you replied.
“Why is she my child when she’s being bad?”
You gave him a look that left him no room for argument. You had the ‘mom stare’ down already.
***
Carlos didn’t just video call. He sent food deliveries from your favorite places whenever you told him you were craving something, soup for when you felt nauseous and flowers just because.
He sent your mom round to check on you when he was away. Not because he didn’t believe you couldn’t take care of yourself, but because he knew how stubborn you could be.
***
You didn’t watch the next race, choosing instead to sleep. You called him after the race, your face pale and your hair a mess. To Carlos, you were still the most beautiful thing in the world.
“How was the car?”
“Bit of understeer but I think we got it fixed for next time. Scored good points for the constructors,” he replied. “More importantly, how are you, amor? Have you been eating? Is your back still hurting?”
You nodded, “nothing I can’t handle. Want to speak to baby?”
He nodded and you tilted the phone slightly towards your bump.
“Hola mi bebe, be good for mama. Make sure she drinks lots of water today.”
***
You were thankful whenever Carlos got a spare weekend home with you. You were grateful for the backrubs, for the soups and smoothies he’d make you and to have him massage your feet at the end of the day.
When he came home he’d kiss the crown of your head and then kneel before you and place his hands either side of your growing bump to talk to the baby.
“I’ve missed so much. You’re getting so big,” Carlos almost choked up as he said it.
“You also missed me fighting with a blanket out of the dryer and crying when I dropped a bowl of fruit salad,” you said dryly as you helped him to his feet.
He’d rest his hand on your bump as you lay together late into the morning in bed. The baby was getting to know his voice, responding with hard kicks into the palm of his hand. He brought you toast in the mornings when you felt too nauseous to eat anything.
In the evenings he’d run you a warm bath and sit on the edge while you soaked in the bubbles, rubbing your back and shoulders. When you lay in bed, drifting off to sleep you had the weight of Carlos’ hand over your bump. You lay your hand on top of his, your baby safe and protected. “You’re going to be the best dad, Carlos.”
“You’ll be the best mama.”
While he was home, that’s how you fell asleep every night. Sure, when he had to leave again you were going to be a hormonal crying mess but for now you were content. Your family all together.

cold season ☁ lee heeseung
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing : bff!heeseung x gn!reader genre : fluff, comfort warnings : mentions of food word count : 0.6k
a/n : flirty heeseung with zero survival instinct comes to cuddle while you’re sick.
“you look so hot right now.”
you winced your eyes open to look incredulously up at your doe-eyed best friend. it’s too damn bright in this room, you thought, as your head continued pounding. there were more things about the condition of your room you were unhappy with at the moment: the suffocating humidity from you staying cooped up here with the doors closed for nearly three days straight; the mess of your bedside table, littered with tissues and soaked tea bags; and your own nightmarish appearance, violated by swollen eyes and hair matted by sweat. you felt somewhat sheepish, letting yourself be perceived by heeseung in this state, but you were also too relieved to see him to shoo him away — or register the undertone of his comment.
“yeah, that’s a 101 degree fever for you.” your voice was so nasal, you wondered if the words were actively coming out your nose.
heeseung pouted, taking your clammy hand in his cool ones. “have you eaten? want me to order soup?”
you shook your head weakly. “no need.”
“to eat? humanity has proved otherwise.”
you rolled your eyes, trying to slip your hand out of his grip, but he held on tight.
“chicken noodle would be a bit basic, wouldn’t it? maybe something spicier? gamjatang?” with his free hand, he was opening the delivery app on his phone. “when i had that nasty cold like a month ago, this place absolutely saved me—”
“i really appreciate the thought, hee, but i swear i’ve got no appetite.” you squeezed his hand this time, hoping that, like a chinese finger trap, he’d let you go because of it.
when he showed no signs of doing so, you added, “do you really want that nasty cold back? i’ve been quarantining for a reason, idiot.”
heeseung only chuckled at the nickname. “perfect, just ordered. should be coming in the next 20 minutes or so.”
“heeseung.” you used all the energy left in you not to sound pathetically silly.
“yes, darling?”
you frowned at his response. “you’re seriously calling me darling right now? when i look like this?”
“’course i am,” and he took your hand up to his lips for the softest, sweetest peck, “as i said, you look so incredibly hot.”
suddenly, you felt the urge to punch him for being so unserious. (and for making you blush from more than your heightened body temperature.) but instead, against your will, you found yourself tugging him by the hand with such raw, instant force that he lost his balance, falling over you onto the bed and narrowly missing the headboard.
on second thought, you hadn’t seized him with that much force — definitely not enough to trip him over. but before you could open your mouth to apologize, at least out of courtesy, heeseung was adjusting himself to lie parallel to you, hand still intertwined in yours.
“ah,” he sighed, turning onto his side and shifting closer to you so that his face was almost entirely buried in your neck, “your bed is insanely comfortable.”
you sniffled in faux disgust, sliding to the edge of the mattress as if you actually had a chance of escaping his embrace. much to your surprise, he pulled you right back into him by your waist.
“your white blood cells are so pissed at you right now,” you huffed, trying not to betray how flustered you were by his touch.
“okay, nerd,” he shot back, snuggling ever closer into your backside. “you know, i’m starting to regret ordering that gamjatang.”
“and why is that?”
“because now that i’m here, i’d never want to leave your side.”

(6) 🩭 signed, sealed, delivery pending...
Tumblr media
When a last-minute opportunity presents itself to become a distraction from the shame of not attending the reunion of your university friend group, you take it. One thing, though, yes you might have been wrong for chickening out. But falling overboard in a storm, almost drowning, and getting saved by the biggest oddball of a skinny dipper out in the wild is a bit too much for instant karma, you think.

Side hustles to make extra money? 💰
So we all see those posts/videos about side hustles that most of us can’t do or don’t want to do. So far I’ve tried 5 Side hustles that work really well & are easy.
1.Homeaglow this is a cleaning site, I’ve only had to clean 1 really nasty bathroom and the rest of the clients typically just want a little cleanup when they can really just do it themselves. I started at $21 an hour then increased to $25 this has been a great side hustle. Payments can be instant or weekly based on what you decide. There’s a lot of clientele in my city & I have had zero complications. It’s best to have a car to carry all your supplies, but if you don’t take a train or something, ask clients what they would want you to bring beforehand so you know if you should accept it or not. Don’t be lazy or cancel on a client though because this app will kick you off. Do your research, do a good job. Follow the directions etc. You could even start a cleaning business like I plan to do and gain clients from here.
2. Instacart delivery this is so much better than Uber because Uber has like $3 orders which is bull. Instacart has between $10-$43 deliveries at least from my experience this is great, you can make $20+ in 30 minutes or so if you’re fast enough. As well as depending on the size of the order.
3.Uber although those small orders are annoying they’re still orders and not all of them are small.
4. Task rabbit. I also use this for cleaning. You can do other things for example “waiting in line for tickets” errands, etc.
5.BIGO it’s a live streaming app you can do on your phone. You need to do your research. There’s a lot of provocative women on there but not everyone is or has to be. You sit there and live stream and people can send you “Beans”. Which is just the currency on there. You can make thousands or hundreds if you’re entertaining, engage with your audience and of course attractive. The app has a bad rep but celebrities have been featured on there such as Nicki Minaj, Ray Jay, Michael black son, Big Ed (from 90 day fiancĂ©) Natalie Nun from bad girls club/baddies) and more. This app can be draining though and sometimes has very dry days, but can be worth it if you wanna make money from your room. You can also find men on there who will give you money outside of the app. I met a guy who ended up giving me over 10k because he fell in love with me, never did anything s@xual with him ever. A lot of men on there are like that if you give them attention for a week or too & aren’t acting desperate for money. This can be great if you want to get into “sugaring” which is something I personally don’t do but might be fitting for someone else. A lot of instagram models & video vixens are actually on BIGO and use it to grow their male following & make money. Some people make even more than 10k a month with consistent streaming. The most I made in a month was 3k
These are all productive easy ways to make money.
I’m being realistic here so these are the 4 I have for you that I have personally tried. You can even do these full time all together depending on your expenses. If you are aiming to be a stay at home girlfriend I’d suggest still doing one of these to put money aside because like I said you should never be solely dependent on a man without marriage & a plan.

The Cleanup Crew - Chapter 6
[Previous Chapter]
Still got one more in the chamber, at least for now. As seems to be a trend with me, I feel like this may be my worst-written chapter yet but I still think it's a fun one. Hopefully you'll agree with at least the second part lol.
Female sneezes - Pollen
cw: Guns, Violence
Operation "Royale"
Take the briefcase. Call a ZĂŒmer. Sounds easy enough. Bucket was looking forward to spending a good chunk of the day being driven around instead of having to actually do anything. That is, at least until she remembers the whole ‘going outside’ part. The poor maid can barely take a single step toward the car before

“ah
 ahh
 ahhh
 ah-CHOO!!”
Bucket doubles over, her free hand cupped loosely in front of her nose.
“That was dramatic,” mumbles Mop.
“You’re supposed to say ‘bless you’ when someone sneezes,” Bucket groans, rubbing two fingers back and forth under her nostrils. “Besides, it’s not my fault I have allergies.”
Mop opens the ZĂŒmer’s rear door and climbs inside with a huffed “eh, you would.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Bucket whines. Mop shrugs from her seat behind the driver.
“You just seem like the type.”
Unaware that allergies had a type, Bucket glumly hauls herself into the car and shuts the door. She sets the briefcase down on the middle seat, buckles in, and

“ah-CHOOO!”
The driver doesn’t bless her either.
By the time Bucket finishes smushing her tickly nose around with her fingers, the car is already moving. Her eyes flit over to Mop, then to the driver. While Bucket is immensely relieved that he’s not trying to make small talk, she can’t help but wonder why he seems as nervous as she feels.
The briefcase is
Some kind of delivery for headquarters. Normally they would just take the van from the cafe and bring it themselves, but it seems their little shootout with the Church of the Fourth Light wasn’t the only one in town over the past couple weeks, and now both groups are on high alert. Taking an unaffiliated vehicle would hopefully let them slip through undetected.
Bucket nearly screams when she feels her phone vibrate in her pocket. Oh yeah, one of the biggest perks of the tactical housekeeping uniform: pockets. Lots of them. She retrieves the device and flips it over in her hand, eyes widening as she reads the illuminated screen.
A notification from just now: “Your ZĂŒmer has arrived!”
Bucket frantically unlocks her phone and stares at the app. The little car icon sits unmoving in front of the cafe. The cafe that they’d already departed from. After a nervous swallow she moves to give Mop a poke on the arm, but the morose maid’s hand flies up and snatches her finger before she can make contact. Still, Mop turns to look at her colleague’s phone all the same. She releases Bucket’s hand and immediately springs into action.
“Pull over, I have to pee,” Mop demands flatly. The driver’s head whips around to her for a second before turning back to the road.
“What? But we-” he stammers, the first words he’s said all ride.
“If you don’t pull over right now, I’m gonna pee in your car.”
Both Bucket and the driver gawk, but sure enough he hits the brakes and turns into a mostly empty strip mall parking lot. Mop steps out the instant the car comes to a halt, and Bucket has no opportunity whatsoever to ask Mop what she’s doing before she opens the driver’s door and hurls him to the pavement.
“Next time, wear your seatbelt,” she growls, drawing her suppressed USP .45 and pointing it squarely at the young man’s forehead.
“Wait, hang on! Don’t shoot me!” he pleads, holding up both hands and turning his face away. Mop remains motionless.
“Did Fourth Light put you up to this?”
“I-I don’t know! I’m behind on bills, a-and he gave me enough money to-”
“Big gray trench coat?”
“What? I-”
Mop’s trigger finger twitches.
“Yes! Yes, I think so, yeah.”
“You already get paid?”
The driver nods breathlessly, finally managing to look up at Mop. The maid flicks her pistol’s safety on and holsters her weapon. She nudges the car’s left rear door shut with her foot and then slips into the driver’s seat.
“Five stars,” says Mop, grabbing the driver’s phone off the dashboard and tossing it at him. “Now get lost, dipshit.”
Bucket is thrust back against the cushion as the car burns rubber out of the parking lot. She blinks slowly and finally manages to pick her jaw up off the floor.
“So do you still have to pee, or
”
“Text Kerchief, tell her the gestapo’s on to us.”
“Oh, right, uh, sure. Just
 Wow you’re cool.”
Bucket sets about typing a message, but the glare of the sun through the window makes reading her phone’s screen a total pain in the ass. She wiggles around, trying to find a dark spot, but she just can’t manage it. Another vehicle begins to pull up next to them and Bucket hopes it might finally block the sun, but to her dismay the gigantic truck’s stainless steel body reflects the light right at her face. Bucket shields her eyes and tries to get a look at this ridiculous reflective behemoth, and through the glare she’s just able to make out the truck’s windows rolling down.
“Mop, look out!” screams Bucket, and Mop slams on the brakes just as a barrage of gunfire tears into the side of the car. The maids then speed onto the highway, momentarily evading their pursuers.
“Still with me, Bucket?” Mop shouts over the wind whipping in through the shattered windows. Bucket pats herself down and nods weakly.
“Yeah. I
 heh
 ah-ahh-CHOOO!! I’b fide.”
“Good. Lock and load.”
For better or worse there’s hardly any traffic at this time of day. Up ahead, the big shiny truck climbs the very next onramp. It begins to slow and line itself up with the beset car again, but this time Bucket leans out of her window, pistol in hand. What can a mere handgun hope to do against a huge chunk of metal? It’ll be just like the movies: shoot the gas tank! Bracing herself against the inside of the car, Bucket does her best to stay on target as she opens fire. A few bullets manage to punch through the truck’s steel panels, but to the maid’s dismay there’s no satisfying explosion. And even worse

“ah
”
Some combination of the sun, wind, and pollen are too much for poor Bucket’s nose. She sniffs hard, her big nostrils sucking in for a second, but the tickle inside continues to grow. Too distracted to even think to pull herself back into the car, she continues to hang out of the window as she absently waves her gun in front of her face. Eventually she scrunches up her face and presses the top of the pistol’s slide against the underside of her nose in a last ditch effort to hold in her sneeze, but even this only manages to delay the inevitable.
“ah-ahh-ahhh-CHOOOO!!!”
Bucket might have been disgusted at herself for sneezing all over her gun if she hadn’t dropped it. She dropped it! Turning her head down the highway, she’s just barely able to see the pistol bounce and pirouette off of the asphalt before it disappears into the distance. After another nostril-constricting sniff, Bucket gives the forsaken Glock a pitiful salute. She sheepishly sits back down, twiddling her fingers in her lap.
“Hey Mop, can I, uh
 Borrow another gun?”
At a loss for words, Mop looks back at her passenger. Bucket guiltily rubs a finger back and forth under her big, clumsy nose.
“No fucking way.”
Bucket scrunches her face and shoulders, folding in on herself in indignation.
“I told you it’s not my fault!”
Mop swerves to avoid another hail of bullets, nearly giving Bucket whiplash. The car remains intact, but it jolts and shudders as the rear right tire bursts. Bucket yelps and holds on for dear life, one hand flying to the briefcase to keep it from being sucked out the window. Sparks spray as the bare rim grinds along the pavement, and Mop struggles to tame the steering wheel.
“I have another gun under my uniform!” Mop shouts through gritted teeth. “Drop this one and you’re dead!”
Bucket pops her seatbelt off and crawls over the center console as quickly as she can. She reaches into Mop’s ruffles, expecting to find her pistol, but instead her hand comes out with a fully loaded MP5K submachine gun. Bucket stares at the weapon in awe.
“How did you fit this in-”
Mop places her palm over Bucket’s face and shoves her back into her seat. Bucket allows herself an ailing “ah-CHOOO!!” to get it out of the way before peeking out the window at the fast approaching truck once more. She sprays down the rear half of the vehicle, but again it refuses to explode.
“Where’s the gas tank!?” Bucket sobs as she pries the empty magazine out of her gun. “Why won’t it blow up?” She inserts a fresh mag and slaps the charging handle back into place, and just as she’s about to resume firing, she finally notices a few small flames beginning to peek out from underneath the truck. Adrenaline surging, Bucket aims at the lower middle of the vehicle and squeezes the trigger.
“Wooo! Yeah baby! That’s what I’ve been waitin’ for!” the maid cheers as the hulking truck erupts. Not quite the kaboom she wanted, but there’s still plenty of fire. Bucket dumps the rest of her ammo into the truck for good measure, and it jerks to an immediate stop in the middle of the highway, doing who knows what to the goons inside. Bucket slumps back into her seat with a much needed sigh, closing her eyes and sinking through the cushion. Meanwhile Mop eases off the gas, allowing the car to limp along at a more controllable speed.
“You know what? That was actually kinda
 Kinda fuuhh
 ah
 ahh-ahhh-CHHOOO!!!”
Bucket bends forward with a big sneeze, half covering her nose with one hand. Without missing a beat she wipes her snot-slicked palm on the seat in front of her and then smudges her nostrils against the back of her hand.
“Uh. Got any tissues?”
Mop doesn’t bother to look.
“No.”
“Think there’s some in the briefcase?”
“Don’t fucking open it.”
“But I
 I need a
 ah
 ahh
 ahhh
 ah-CHOOOOO!!!”
