My Very Educated Take on Steve Harrington and his Bisexual Awakening: Instructions Very Much Included

Absolutely understand those who write Steve Harrington as a shy, new bisexual who has Eddie show him the ropes of queer intimacy. From one angle, I'd almost be inclined to agree.

And then I remember that this is King Steve. Yes, he left the moniker behind, but that doesn't mean the legacy is gone! Royalty doesn't just vanish into oblivion! Kings and Queens of olde are remembered through their tales of greatness and tragedy, and Steve's great legacy is the fact that this man is a bona fide harlot who proudly gave the ladies of Hawkins, ages 16-18 the time of their fucking lives in the golden chariot that is his Beemer.

He's not just out there romancing, either! Robin will need to grudgingly admit, at some point, that his charm is actually so insanely effective that he managed to snag her - the resident Steve Harrington Hater and Local Lesbian - into a lifelong soulmate partnership.

And it gets worse! Because not only is he an absolute charmer, but he's a total slut for true love!

Someone can look at him, at Steve the Hair, Steve the Loverboy, Steve the King of "guess what my jeans are made of relationship material" Harrington and think that he's going to tiptoe and tremble his way through a sexual awakening with Eddie Munson as his guide?

That, to me, is as ridiculous as the thought of Eddie being anything less than a midwestern gay nerd overcompensating with confident speeches and loud proclamations of how he's a bad boy. Like he's not actually a virgin who lies on his stomach, kicking his little feeties in the air, writing tiny stories about being swept off his combat boots by a big strong man with nice hair and a polo shirt and a flock of little nerdy kids behind him.

Like I said. I respect other opinions. But you cannot sway me.

In my head, there is only one true outcome.

Steve Harrington realized he was bisexual, got pumped up because holy shit more people equals more love, Robin, why did you not tell me this was a thing sooner don't be a gay gatekeeper, and then showed up the next day at Eddie's door (with flowers, a hidden box of condoms in one back pocket, and a stapled pile of handwritten instructions - that include detailed charts and graphs and footnotes that he studied and copied down in glitter gel pen in the library - folded up in the other) to tell a very confused Wayne that he just realized his feelings for Eddie were also romantic and he'd very much like to woo his son now, thank you very much.

You know what's gonna kill me when we get the inevitable Lu Guang flashbacks?

The fact he's always described as "mature" as his post-dive self implies he must be different now than before. It's hard to imagine exactly what his personality was like before, and if it's written well, he shouldn't be completely unrecognisable. But we know he's been changed.

Imagine a first timeline where Lu Guang just follows along with Cheng Xiaoshi, no attempts to reign him in whatsover. Cheng Xiaoshi having the opportunity to come up with more of his complicated tricks but channelling it into lower stakes stuff like pranks and Lu Guang actually enabling him in that and having fun with it. Imagine tragedy striking when Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi are both allowing themselves to be genuinely happy, no facades.

We know that Cheng Xiaoshi used to put on a brave face in light of his parents' disappearances and what that meant for how he was treated and what he was missing out on. But we also know that Qiao Ling and Lu Guang together have been able to lift that into something more genuine. Imagine a world where Cheng Xiaoshi was able to do the same for Lu Guang. Where they both mutually brought that light into the other's life.

It's still true to some extent in the current worldline, but it's complicated by Lu Guang's own actions. Lu Guang can never be fully honest with Cheng Xiaoshi without (in his mind) losing him forever. But he has to stick by his side in order to have any chance in his hopeless quest. And so, he must distance himself in other ways, protect Cheng Xiaoshi, enforce the rules. Swallow the guilt. It leads to a more lopsided relationship, one where one side is always hiding something from the other and refuses to open up themselves. A relationship that in the original timeline must have been more equal, as partners.

There's something that's been lost here, and it's not just the original Cheng Xiaoshi.

Hello everyone, I have a question: my sisters and I found a card game we played during science class in high school. This card game was about playing with genetics and creating an offspring based on the parents' genetics. I managed to find the instructions through a not- long- deep search on the internet, but I can't really remember how to play it despite having the instructions in front of me. Or, more specifically, how to draw out cards for a genetic result.....

Kaneki’s Group Halloween Headcanon Time

☆ Everyone in the group is invited for Trick or Treating! Except maybe Shuu, but he inserts himself anyway and nobody tells him to leave

☆ Kaneki’s favourite part is seeing how many ghouls give candy to the human kids, and then real eyes and fingers to the ghoul children while trick or treating. At first he felt bad about “intruding” on a human event until he realized it was a perfect holiday for ghouls

☆ The gas masks are all about trading after trick or treating. By the end, Jiro has enough eyeballs for a biblically accurate angel, Ichimi can make his section of the room ghost-themed and Sante could replicate their boss’s torture bucket

☆ Banjou likes giving “tricks” to kids while trick or treating. Every time they walk past a large group of children together, he’ll try doing some card tricks for them that he spent a few hours practicing with Kaneki. Some kids love it, some think he’s scary, one kid started mocking him for being 25 and fumbling with cards on the street and it really hurt his feelings

☆ Shuu loves the costuming aspect of it! Every year as a child he always had the most extravagant costume, and as an adult he is no different. He spends time tailoring outfits for himself and specifically Kaneki and Hinami. This year, he dresses himself as a vampire (always one of his favorites) and Hina and Kaneki as an angel and demon. THEY LOOK VERY PRETTY.

☆ After trick or treating, Hinami asks Shuu what to do with the candy. He decides to show her some cool recipes, like flowers made from melted hard candy and mousse with a chocolate swirl lid. They decide to donate the treats to Anteiku and Hinami learns to make some cool art with her candy!

In positive news, I got my third customer service pin at work today!

My store's company has a customer service telephone hotline and website feedback form, which isn't just for complaints-- customers can give positive comments about specific employees as well! These comments are sent to the manager of whatever store is specified in the review, and each employee has a file that their compliments go into.

When my boss is feeling fancy, he'll print them for the employee to keep for their own records or whatever (though in theory an employee could ask for a copy of what's been filed. I think. Nobody really explains this.)

I'm not sure if every compliment awards a pin, or just certain ones, but for months the store was out of pins so nobody was getting any. The pins just got restocked, and I got one today!

I have a fabric flower on my lanyard (a cartoony one with a smiley face), and my goal is to fill all five petals with pins. Now I'm more than halfway there!
