"Oh, shit." Giuseppe sat up from his laying position on the couch, where he had been lounging for the past hour, at the sight of his only son running into his home with a medical cast wrapped around his tiny arm. He just rolled his eyes as his son gasped at the 'bad word' that left his father's lips, moving to lean down to check on Luciano. "Well, I guess you just got your very first big boy injury, kid." Gigi murmured gently, cupping his son's cheeks and then ruffling his hair before he hugged him tightly and asked him how he was feeling.

"You know, I always thought this day would come. I kinda hoped it would happen when he was a teenager but oh well." Gigi joked as he moved to stand up, finally looking over at Liam. "Dude, you got stuck with the two of them at the hospital? Why didn't you call me? That's crazy. What happened? Were they wrestling again?" It wasn't that Gigi was upset, he just wanted to know everything. He was never the overbearing parent or anything, but a broken arm was a big thing and while he completely trusted Liam, he would have wished to be at the hospital, asking the doctor more details. He had too many questions. "Is Axel okay?"

Liam made his way into Gigi's house way before the boys did. Thankfully they were too occupied with the events of today that they were hardly trying to keep pace. The second his eyes fell upon the man he was there to see, he pressed his lips into a tight lip smile, "Hey, man." He greeted, "Listen, so -- a few things. One, the boys had a great time, you know how they like to terrorize. And that's exactly what they did." He explained, "But uh--" Before he could finish his sentence, the two hell lions came rushing into the room. Luci doing his best to hold up his now weighed arm, with a large smile on his face. "Dad! Look!" He cheered, showing off the cast that wrapped his broken arm. Liam looked down at the kid, then back up at Gigi, explanation stuck on his tongue as he thought of what words to say. "It's so cool. I want one." Axel moaned in the background, causing Liam to roll his eyes, "You still got plenty of time to break your bones." Liam tossed over his shoulder, his attention still on Gigi. "Things got a little rougher than usual."

Bells Hells Level Up: Level 14

FUCK IT WE'RE DOING IT LIVE (I forgot to prep this well in advance like a press release as I am wont to do). Gonna be short, sweet, and as always if there are any factual errors let me know! If I simply did not list every single possible feat, spell, or other choice, that is because I did not wish to spend my wild and precious life doing that.

Chetney: With a 13th level in Blood Hunter he gets Brand of Tethering, which is GREAT for making people (Ludinus) not be able to leave. He can also use Blood Maledict 3 times per rest now. Looking ahead: I'm assuming he's sticking with Blood Hunter (or Blood Nutter as the case may be); at L14 he gets advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, and a new crimson rite. He has flame and frozen, and L14 unlocks necrotic, psychic, and thunder options. Their enemies are often immune to psychic but honestly he can just use fire so. Live your best life, Chet.

Laudna: I support waiting to see how the ritual goes! If she levels in Warlock she gets an ASI/Feat (War caster wouldn't hurt; bumping up INT or WIS wouldn't either though my vote, as always, is for INT), another known spell, and continues her quest as Cantrips Georg. If she levels in Sorcerer she also gets another cantrip, as well as another known spell, and I think she should get a 3rd metamagic option but she seems to already have three? Anyway my vote is for Careful Spell. I'll hold off on further speculation until said ritual has completed.

Dorian: Two more spells! Magical secrets, ie, whatever the fuck he wants (true to my name my vote is spending at least one on Counterspell, but go nuts on the other) He also no longer has to burn his inspiration dice on flourishes, though he only gets a d6 rather than his full d10. Looking ahead: He gets 8th level spells of which Mind Blank might be wise given this campaign; he also gets a d12 inspiration die.

Braius is already level 14, thank you Braius.

Fearne: Ok I respect the ASI push but Transport via Plants would be real clutch sometime soon. With that said Dorian or Imogen could take Teleport or they can just hang out with Essek for a while longer. Anyway, as an Arcane Trickster she gets an ASI and another L1 spell; she's been keeping it utility-focused which is smart because her INT score is not high. The ASI move, in my opinion, is bump up INT and CON by one, but she could also benefit from War caster. Looking ahead: As said, take L11 Druid, get 6th level spells, profit.

Imogen: Revelation in Flesh is upon us; I assume it will be electricity themed rather than the traditional Aberrant Mind option which appears to be "cursed axolotl"-themed. This means she can use sorcery points to make herself fly OR swim/breathe water OR see invisible creatures OR squeeze out of tight situations. Looking ahead: 8th level spells next level! Incendiary Cloud seems to be on-brand but Power Word Stun OR Sunburst (miss you Ayden) are both pretty fantastic.

Orym: Fighters get a zillion ASIs, as always; Sentinel might be fun but he could also bump his CON to 16 (if he does this...I must admit I'm warming on the idea of Orym Paladin and wouldn't scoff at a CHA 13 bump either), achieve Chetney-like intellect with an INT bump, or take any number of feats. I am pretty boring with feats honestly so I'm excited to see what Liam picks but I have no good ideas. Looking ahead: At L15, he gets two more maneuvers, which I will definitely look up before they hit L15; he also gets a free superiority die if they roll initiative while he is fully tapped. Fighters: they are unstoppable.

Ashton: It's a path feature! I have no idea what the fuck will be up with that but I'm looking forward to finding out, which, coincidentally, will give us the full picture of Path of Fundamental Chaos! Looking ahead: They get persistent rage at L15, which will make them even harder to knock out, a thing that is already very difficult to do.

Ok idk if anyone said this re: Greta gerwig’s narnia on here already I only pop in from time to time…

But it seems like Liam Neeson will return to voice Aslan and Tilda Swinton is set to return as the White Witch?

There was also a comment in an interview saying it won’t change people’s conception of narnia, but just make it bigger (I think that was the phrasing, or close to it).

So I’m cautiously optimistic. That makes it sound like they want to get the audience on familiar territory — hopefully it lands! To use the same actors and then depart to dramatically from the 2005 version would be pretty jarring, so maybe they want to recreate that movie relatively closely as a launchpad for the rest of the series? But they still gotta make it their own which makes me nervous lol

Netflix handled the Shadow and Bone adaptation pretty well so maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised 😬

The only thing is that Greta Gerwig seems emphasize messaging and themes in equal measure as plot. Little Women deals prominently with marriage, expectations of womanhood, wealth/class, etc. Barbie is theme over plot, I’d almost say, given the virality of America Ferrera’s speech, I’m Kenough, and the overall impression of Barbie having an awakening to being a human woman or whatever. I haven’t seen it so maybe there’s plot I’m missing but that seems to be the idea.

This kinda thing doesn’t work for narnia, imo. I don’t want to hear Susan give a speech about womanhood in the war era, or some remark on femininity, firstly because it’s so overdone in movies these days but also bc if you’re going to put any theme/motif/messaging on equal footing to Narnia’s plot it should be faith.

I’m not saying Christianity has to slap you in the face. The Disney adaptations handled it well I think. It was there without the movie overdoing it, and there wasn’t any sort of moral or speech or sound bite to sell to the audience otherwise. It was a fantasy movie.

Susan would make an easy target, and I really hope Gerwig doesn’t fall into the “lipstick and nylons” trap everyone argues about. First of all it should hardly be foregrounded bc it doesn’t really become an issue until after she’s left narnia in which case she’s offscreen. The Last Battle maybe, but again it’s brief. My two cents on it though are that I always took it to be her grief for not being able to return to narnia forced her to try to move on, and maybe the resentment over her loss broke her faith. She’s still a character to sympathize with. People say Lewis couldn’t get past her being female and hence the lipstick and nylons but I think that’s a bad read. She was a queen, an adult woman, and cerebrally mature only to return a boarding school student. Of course she didn’t return to her dolls. I also think that it happened because she’s so logical and calculated and careful (neither good nor bad as a trait on its own) that loosing something she loved only augmented her original doubts and made her stubborn. So again it’s not about womanhood nylons and lipstick, it’s grief and sort of an internal self-defence kinda thing. If Gerwig were to explore anything with Susan as she’s older I would say doubt and logic versus faith and responsibility would both be true to the character and far more original/interesting for audiences.

I would love to see how they handle The Horse and his Boy, the Golden Age and how the kings and queens earn their titles (just, gentle, valiant, magnificent). I would love to see a Jill Pole who is allowed to cry, to be a scared school child, and also brave and stoic and thrust into an underground world on a rescue mission. I will be fascinated to see their concept for The Last Battle, because again it’s very much so a Christian story.

So I really do hope Netflix allows the series to live past the first 3, so we get new material. Caspian and Dawn Treader are gonna be a test for Gerwig’s strengths before she’s allowed into fresh territory with the other books.

I just think that if you’re intending to strip it of the intention behind the story — lost faith, found faith, tested faith, resilience, trust, redemption, all through a Christian lens, then maybe don’t adapt it at all. I’m not saying you have to make Christianity so foregrounded it feels like a sermon, but you cannot have narnia without that being the lens through which the world is understood. They aren’t separable things.

AND going back to the casting hopefully it’s not Timothy chalamet / Saoirse Ronan / Florence Pugh. As much as they’re great actors, I think for narnia as a reboot to land, they need a bunch of unknown, fresh faces and actual kids not people in their twenties/thirties. Even as a background narnia cameo it would honestly be distracting.

in looking for posts about the end of C2 I found a self-inflicted ask meme (called that) in which I asked people to send wish items for C3 and first off, once we do have a hard episode count for C3 I might run something similar because it was fun, but also, looking through, some notes:

Laura playing a sorcerer was rather popular, as was Marisha as a high-Charisma character

Issylra setting REALLY popular...we got a smidge I suppose but this was not really a Continent In Depth campaign

people did want to see Travis as a lycan blood hunter, AND in some cases older characters

College AU Part 35: You and Your Friend

Scene 1: Them Changes

EXT. Park - Evening

Celeste and Vir are walking through a park together.

VIR: Thanks for coming out with me. Walks are always better with company.

Celeste sighs and glances around.

VIR: Something wrong?

CELESTE: Honestly I'm kind of surprised that you bothered to call me after the party.

VIR: Why wouldn't I? That's why I asked for your number.

CELESTE: I thought you were just being nice.

Vir snickers.

VIR: Come on, you can't really think that. You're gorgeous. I'm sure you constantly have people falling over themselves trying to date you.

Celeste shakes her head.

CELESTE: I have been told I don't look approachable and that I seem emotionally unavailable. And it is true.

VIR: Then why'd you say yes to this date?

Celeste wraps her arms around herself.

CELESTE: My dorm mate keeps telling me to put myself out there.

Vir nods.

VIR: That's a good first step.

CELESTE: Is it? I feel like I'm wasting both our time.

VIR: A walk in the park is never a waste of time.

Celeste doesn't respond. Vir glances at her, worried.

VIR: Cyra says you still won't talk to her.

CELESTE: Cyra is a shallow person. I do not wish to speak with shallow people.

VIR: But you went to her party.

CELESTE: I had nothing else to do.

Vir raises an eyebrow, not believing that.

VIR: You know, Cyra hurt me pretty bad too.

CELESTE: I am aware.

VIR: Moving on from it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

CELESTE: You sound like my dorm mate.

VIR: Who's your dorm mate?

CELESTE: Arabella. Another of Cyra's friends.

Vir nods.

VIR: I've met her. And... She's right. She probably doesn't want you to keep on living in the past.

CELESTE: Yes. That's what she told me.

VIR: Well, I'm glad to see you're trying.

Celeste gives Vir a confused look.

VIR: You're on a date with me right now. To me that seems like someone who's trying to move on.

Celeste looks up at the sky and thinks.

CELESTE: Hm. I guess so...

Scene 2: I'm Weird

(Scene title by Ghost Town)

EXT. Nightclub parking lot - Night

Cyra, Ace, and Zayn get out of Ace's car. Cyra stops and looks at the nightclub. She seems nervous.

CYRA: This is it?

ACE: Yep! I used to spend almost every weekend here.

Ace grabs Zayn's hand and leads the way to the club. Cyra follows them. She looks uncharacteristically nervous.

When they get to the door, a man with bleached blonde hair steps in front of Ace.

LIAM: There you are!

ACE: Liam!

Ace hugs Liam and then gestures to Zayn and Cyra.

ACE: This is Zayn and Cyra.

Liam shakes Zayn's hand and then Cyra's.

LIAM: I've heard a lot about you both.

Cyra glances at Ace, surprised.

CYRA: You've heard about me too? Not just Zayn?

Liam and Ace both laugh.

LIAM: Yeah. From what I've heard, Ace can't seem to get away from you.

Cyra glances around bashfully.

CYRA: Makes me sound like a stalker.

ACE: Not quite a stalker. You're... something else.

Cyra's jaw drops and she speaks directly to Liam.

CYRA: I'm not a creep, I swear.

Liam smiles and wraps his arm around Cyra.

LIAM: Don't worry, babe. If Ace really didn't want you around, you wouldn't be here tonight.

Cyra smiles and the four of them head into the club.

Scene 3: You and Your Friend

INT. Nightclub - Night

Cyra and Liam are standing in front of the bar. Cyra smiles and puts her hand on Liam's arm.

CYRA: Let me buy you a drink.

LIAM: Sure. I'll have a martini.

Cyra nods and signals to the bartender.

CYRA: A martini and a vodka cranberry, please.

The bartender nods and starts making the drinks.

LIAM: Thanks. I'm not sure if this is you trying to hit on me, but I should probably tell you I'm gay.

Cyra comically snaps her fingers.

CYRA: Damn!

Liam laughs.

CYRA: No, I had a feeling.

LIAM: I thought Ace would've mentioned that.

CYRA: He doesn't talk much about his life outside of school, especially not to me. He never even told me about you.

LIAM: I guess he likes to be mysterious.

CYRA: I guess so. How long have you two known each other?

LIAM: Hm... About fifteen years now.

CYRA: Whoa!

LIAM: Yeah, we met in high school.

CYRA: Really?

Cyra leans in closer to Liam.

CYRA: What was he like in high school?

Liam laughs.

LIAM: He was the same as he is now, just with less filler and tattoos.

CYRA: Huh...

The bartender gives them both their drinks and Cyra puts a 20 dollar bill on the bar.

CYRA: Thank you. Keep the change.

Cyra and Liam step out of the way. They look at the dance floor where Ace and Zayn are dancing together. Cyra stares at Ace with a dazed look.

CYRA: Oh wow...

Liam glances at Cyra.

LIAM: I've heard you're kind of infatuated with Ace.

CYRA: That's an understatement...

Liam laughs.

LIAM: I was trying to be nice.

Cyra smiles at Liam.

LIAM: Does his boyfriend like you?

Cyra nods.

CYRA: I hope he does. We've had sex so many times now that I can only hope he's enjoying it.

Liam laughs.

LIAM: Men don't keep having sex with people unless they're enjoying it. I think you're good.

Cyra smiles and holds her glass up to cheers. Liam clinks his glass against hers.

CYRA: Okay, I trust you.

LIAM: Already? You don't even know me.

CYRA: You're Ace's best friend. I have no reason not to trust you. Besides, I'm getting a good feeling from you. You seem like an honest person.

Liam raises an eyebrow at Cyra. She doesn't say anything else. Liam nudges Cyra's arm.

LIAM: Hey, when we finish our drinks, let's go dance with them.

CYRA: Great idea!

Scene 4: Up All Night

(Scene title by One Direction)

INT. Nightclub - Night

The TV screens around the club display a timer that says 1:00.

DJ (on the mic): One minute to midnight! Put your drinks up for the new year!

On the dance floor, Ace and Liam hold up their drinks. Cyra and Zayn don't have drinks. Ace, Zayn, and Liam cheer. Cyra glances around, trying to force a smile. Liam notices her looking sad and grabs her hand.

LIAM: Cheer up, baby! You're with friends tonight.

Cyra manages a small smile.

We see the timer again, which is now down to ten seconds. The crowd starts counting down. Ace, Zayn, and Liam join them. Cyra remains quiet.

CROWD: Five! Four! Three! Two! One!

The crowd cheers. Ace wraps his arm around Zayn's neck, pulling him into a kiss. Cyra smiles again when she sees them kiss.

When Ace pulls away, he quickly turns to Cyra and pulls her into a kiss as well. This catches Cyra off guard and she looks shocked afterward.

ACE: What?

CYRA: I get a kiss too?

Ace laughs and looks at Zayn.

ACE: New Years with my boyfriend and my pet. How perfect.

LIAM: And your best friend! Don't forget about me, you fucking bitch.

Zayn and Cyra laugh.

ACE: Right, right. Sorry.

There’s two possibilities here: 1) Harry is trying to make Louis less uncomfortable or 2) He actually is bi.

I don’t really think Harry would put himself out there just to relieve pressure from Louis, because that’s a really big claim to make. I like to think he was being honest (Harry has always been a weirdly honest person anyways), but then again he has always been very protective about Louis’s sexuality. In this interview in 2011 he tries to stop Zayn from [outing Louis and accidentally outs him himself]:

Since there’s no way of knowing which is the ultimate truth, let’s move on to a new topic: Gender Ambiguity.

SInce the beginning of time (or at least the formation of 1d), girls have fallen head over heels for the boys. [...] This of course leads to the question, “What do you look for in a girl,” a question which Harry always answers in a very interesting way:

Int: “What do you look for in a girl?” Harry: “I think someone that’s funny. Someone who’s a nice person. And has a nice smile… something like that.”

Hey, Louis is funny, and nice, and has an amazing smile.

Int: “What do you look for in a girlfriend?” Harry: “Nice person with a good sense of humour, nice smile, and a nice bum!”

Refraining from once again inserting a comment about Louis’s amazing sense of humour, gorgeous smile, and shapely ass. Also I’m not going to remind you that a while ago Harry gave an entire speech about how Louis is always hilarious because of his perfect timing.

Int: “What qualities do you look for in a girlfriend?” Harry: “I just like people that are friendly, that you can get along with easily. I think that if you’re supposed to get on with someone, it’s easier to get on with them if you don’t have to put much effort to get along and make conversation. If it’s right it just kind of happens.

I think this one is the most obvious gender ambiguous one, because Harry makes it very clear that he’s just looking for someone he gets along with. [...]

Here we go again with the complete gender neutrality. _

Int: “Is it hard to meet girls who take you as a real person, not a pop star?”

Okay, from all of these instances I think we can conclude that Harry makes an active effort to keep his ideal romantic interest gender-neutral. There’s really no way that it can be a coincidence, because the interviewers essentially set up the questions to be answered as “I like a girl who…,” yet Harry always changes the feminine pronoun to an ambiguous gender. This is a conscious effort on his part.

People tend to repeat back the language that they are given, yet despite being fed questions dealing with feminine pronouns, Harry consistently speaks in gender neutral terms. This is deliberate. 

Firstly he has his wonderful “Love is Equal” shirt, which was created by a company to support gay rights, and he also went to a gay nightclub, Le Bain, on March 22nd, 2012.

Neither of these really tell us anything in particular [...] we can really never know until he tells us, if he ever does. But what we do know is that he has placed some very strong hints our way showing that his sexuality is not clean cut as the media makes it out to be.
