I hate how misogynistic the marauders fandom is, how misogynistic fandom is.

I pride myself in the fact that I don't need an audience to be creative in this fandom. I have and will still make edits and draw fanart and write my headcanons. I am currently writing a 400,000 word fanfiction that is just for me, I have literally zero intention to post it.

Currently, I don't even really want to post anything related to the girls, not a Narcissa headcanon or a sketch of Marlene, because I know no one wants to see it. I have in my notes a character breakdown for Walburga Black that I gave up on because no one cares.

It makes me sad that I care, or that I want people to care.

It isn't a subtle misogyny here either. I have repeatedly asked in posts and in multiple communities if anyone has any Dorlene fics they like, and no one has said a thing. I know y'all don't just hate me cause I have also asked about many mlm ships and I always get responses.

Misogyny is awful (I think we can all agree) and it is such a difficult thing to ignore in a space that I dedicate a lot of my time to. Watching myself think "Oh, I shouldn't post Dorcas Meadows varients. I should do Evan instead, people will like it more." honestly made me feel like I needed to take a step away from the thing that I have literally not stopped thinking about since I first read the books as a little kid.

Joanne is an awful, misogynistic, ass and I NEED everyone in the marauders fandom to know every. single. time. you scroll past a fic or a headcanon BECAUSE it is about one of the girls you are proof that we are just as bad as her.

Notice that I didn't say art, that was on purpose. Lesbians have been fetishized unfortunately, for forever and I do not want the only representation the women have in this fandom to be about their sexulity or appearance. Lesbians can exist and not be a fetish, the problem arises when they are portrayed as objects to look at and not interact with.

The girls are just as interesting, just as tragic, and just as important as any of the guys. Narcissa is one of my all time favorite characters, full stop. I love Sirius and Peter and Severus as much than the next marauders fan, but I also LOVE Lily, Narcissa, Dorcas and Bellatrix just as much!

Write fics from the girls pov, write headcanons about their past, about their families and personalities. And please, someone suggest me a Dorlene fic damnit.

Edit: I do not think any individual is a misogynists because they don't read wlw fanfiction, that is not the point of this rant. I think people are misogynists when they openly and honestly hate women. People can do misogynistic things and not BE misogynists. It is not an issue if you read mlm content. It is an issue if you don't want to explore women characters because they are women.

remus: little miss sunshine brutal and disturbingly human, but intertwined with themes of love, family, support, and healing

james: talladega nights the theme of this movie is that friendship is magic. you know james was saying "if you're not first, you're last" for years after seeing this movie. also he tried to create a shake-and-bake thing with sirius

sirius: howl's moving castle "that howl is so fucking hot" "he literally just looks like you" "exactly" sirius sees himself as this main love interest (howl) and he sees remus as sophie, especially when she's an old woman that howl has to take care of. all he wants to do is take care of remus

peter: bridge to terabithia peter seems like the kind of person to find stories of tragical childhood friendships really compelling. he also loves josh hutcherson (who doesn't)

regulus: the secret life of walter mitty he relates to the main character - a man who is controlled and meticulous but longs to go on an adventure. he also wishes that sirius would pull him out of his monotonous life and into the unknowable but with complete acceptance of who he is.

lily: little women in the way that i feel like i've been shot every time i watch a movie involving complicated mother/daughter relationships, lily would be deeply compelled by stories about sisterhood. especially jo and amy who always feel second to each other

mary: princess mononoke she would relate to the main character and be very enthralled by ashitaka. definitely a comfort watch for her.

marlene: raising arizona or zoolander she loves absurdist comedies with lovable and endearing characters. she is also low-key attracted to nick cage when he was young, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret.

dorcas: arrival or parasite dorcas has unequivocally good movie tastes. she likes high concept stories with heavy thematic writing and devastating plots. she talks about them in detail for weeks afterward

pandora: midsommar and pan's labyrinth she loves movies with comically intense violence. she finds high control groups fascinating. she definitely loves pan's labyrinth because of the freaky monsters and the fact that it sounds like it could belong to her

xenophilius: the twilight saga he knows every detail and loves to examine the story from all sides. he and pandora bond over the fact that carlisle is a joseph smith archetype.

evan: deadpool evan sees deadpool as barty and loves the character because of it. he is also envious of the characters freedom to be himself

barty: the mummy he just thinks that everyone in this movie is really fucking hot

snape: pride and prejudice (2005) finds it super romantic and loves the way characters talk and deliver lines. he listens to the soundtrack as background music while he works.

What are your favourite ships?

Ah, my dear anon, you just asked me one of my favorite questions 😈

Well, actually, I’m not sure if you’re asking about just the HP fandom or in general, so I’ll talk about both.

I’m in several fandoms, and I plan to write fics for these fandoms, I just lack the time.

Anyway, my favorite ships outside of HP are: Destiel (Dean/Castiel, Supernatural), I always come back to them, ugh, my first queerbait love. There's Hannigram from Hannibal (I actually take a lot of inspiration from Hannibal when writing some of my fics), Johnlock ( on my other Tumblr, I lived for Johnlock), Buddie (Buck/Eddie from 911), Percabeth (Percy/ Annabeth, Percy Jackson) and Peeta/Katniss (Peeniss, lol, from Hunger Games).

Some fandoms, like Star Wars and LOTR, I love so many ships I simply can't decide 💀.

Now, speaking specifically about the HP fandom, I love rare pairs. There’s something fascinating about taking two characters who barely (or never) interacted in canon and deciding they will be a couple. Some rare pairs I want to write are: Moonwater (Regulus/Remus), Blackbolt (Kingsley/Sirius) and Voldemort/Ron (does this even have a name?)

Prongsfoot (James/Sirius) lives in my heart, along with Harrymort (Harry/Voldemort), Dorlene (Dorcas/Marlene) and Jily (James/Lily).

I love most Sirius ships, except Wolfstar. I don't like Wolfstar and Jegulus, but I have mutuals who love them, and that’s cool! Everyone’s free to like what they want.

Other pairs I enjoy: Harry/Ron (don't remember the ship name), Romione (Ron/Hermione), Hinny (Harry/Ginny), Sirry (Sirius/Harry - oh yeah, controversial, I know, but the angst is everything), Snack (Sirius/Snape), Bellamort (Bellatrix/Voldemort), Lucissa (Lucius/Narcissa), Tedromedra (Ted/Andromeda), Blackcest (Bellatrix/Sirius - this one is controversial too) and Blackinnon (Sirius/Marlene).

There are popular pairs I don’t usually read (like Drarry or Dramione), though I’ve found some amazing fics for them. Honestly, the characterization in these pairs sometimes bothers me (especially Harry in Drarry fics and how people villanize Ron in Dramione fics), so I’m kinda picky.

This got way too long, but yeah, I’m a multishipper at heart, haha. And hey, don’t like, don’t read (and don’t judge those who do!).

well first of all, i don’t even headcanon james as black and if someone wants to that’s perfectly okay. hcing a “canonically white” character as anything but is fine because more diverse representation in jkr’s heavily cishet white character centered story is always a good thing. if i want to see james as desi that’s…fine. u can always look at someone else’s art i’m certainly not forcing you to do anything.

second of all, i don’t write about harry’s era but i actually do like dean as a character, i just don’t talk about him because i am a marauders stan. third of all, i hc kingsley as a bit older than the marauders and closer to bellatrix or narcissa’s age so i don’t see them interacting until they’re in the order and therefore i don’t talk about him. i do however talk and write about mary and dorcas plenty, two characters that actually are black so it’s just sort of. not the kind of argument u wanna make with me

my favourite eras of this fandom are whenever we randomly ship two people who do NOT have any right to be that perfect together and then we all collectively get on board (like when we all got obsessed with nobleflower yk). bonus points if it's sapphic.

so i'm starting a new series where i randomly get two girls names from this wheel thing:

and i'll make headcanons about them. and hopefully at least one of the ships becomes popular or at least i see more people talking about them

I'm only gonna include the girls and femme presenting people. i tried to include a variety of characters we know pretty well and characters we don't. in case you don't know, emmeline is emmeline vance, emma is emma vanity, amelia is amelia bones, and hestia is hestia jones. if you wanna see another character added to this or you wanna see headcanons for a specific random pairing then feel free to ask me and i'll see what i can do.

these will NOT necessarily be romantic ships. i'll probably have a mix of headcanons that are platonic and romantic but if you don't like the ship in a romantic way then just focus on the ones that are platonic. also some are automatically going to be platonic: for example anything with alice or narcissa paired up with the other girls will be platonic because they are kinda older than them.

also if i get marlene + dorcas or mary + lily i won’t do headcanons about them because they’re all pretty popular already.

i didnt add bellatrix or andromeda because they are significantly older and i honestly cant see why they would interact with many people on this list. but again, if you wanna see headcanons of them with another character just message me.
