i love anti-war video games that show extreme violence as a "look at what you're doing" type of thing (hotline miami and especially hm2, ultrakill, spec ops the line)

obviously this isn't the only reason i enjoy these games, but i really like anti-war themes in video games, as i feel that the interactive medium allows people to express much more damning indictments of war than other mediums.

i know posting fic can be discouraging with how little feedback you get these days, especially in smaller fandoms, but it's so wild to me seeing writers have meltdowns where they threaten not to write/post fic ever again because they're not getting enough comments.

like if you never want to post for a fandom again due to a lack of comments then that is literally your loss first and foremost because you made attention your primary goal when posting your creations. you already forgot what the whole point is.

if you're butthurt it's 'only' your friends paying attention to your fic then you're completely lost. the point of fandom is connecting through creation. why the fuck are you prioritizing the idea of an audience of strangers when the people that love you and met you through fandom are loving what you make?

it's fine and it's more than okay to be disappointed that something you put so much effort on didn't get the reception you hoped. it's understandable to want praise from people that aren't already attached to you. but when you let this absence become central in your fandom existence you're forgetting something.

we're not sharing our creations to become fandom influencers or clout chasers, we're sharing them because we can't help it, because we simply want to summon our ideas into existence. and if other people enjoy that, then that's honestly awesome. if not then, well that's too bad but we still wanted it out there.

just the fact that you posted it is already worth celebrating! a lot of people never gather enough courage to share their creations publicly. god knows for the longest time i didn't. so you should be proud for taking that step. and you should be happy with yourself without needing others to validate that.

i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good

genuinely one of the things that make me the most sad about s2 is just that dood had paeden/hermie syndrome and was just kinda forgotten until they were plot relevant. like i totally understand why (i can imagine dm npcs in the party are hard to keep track of/dm is more focused on the actual players) but the personification of an unknowable eldritch horror as a young, very impressionable, very unstable teenager who needs to be taught by other very unstable teenagers morals and how to be a human is such an intriguing concept but in the end not much is done with it outside of a few moments. they just kinda exist as a plot device and to restate the theme. and like thats fine, i just mourn what could've been yknow

The most infuriating form of sanism is this idea that mentally ill people/people with mental disorders are just too stupid or too unenlightened to know how to be a proper, well-adjusted person

So many therapists have ignored signs of my unwellness simply because they assumed I was just... being stupid, and I just needed educating about why I'm acting disordered (apparently, mental disorders stop disordering you once you are condescendingly told why you're just disordered and dumb, who knew (sarcasm)).

Like, I could tell them that I knew my behaviour wasn't "rational," wasn't "reasonable" to do or believe and I'd still be treated like I was so dumb I needed hand-holding and scolding about why I'm acting disordered.

I truly wish that people would be able to take the idea of guidance and stop twisting it into "I am superior and enlightened and the people I am trying to help are stupid and wrong and beneath me!"
