Pret A Manger staff give free coffee to their favourite customers, sandwich chain boss reveals

The boss of Pret A Manger has revealed the sociable secret of how to get served a free coffee in the sandwich chain he hopes to make as big as McDonald’s.

Chief executive Clive Schlee said he has given staff the power to hand out free drinks or food to the customers they like best - or would like to take home.

He told the Standard: “We looked at loyalty cards but we didn’t want to spend all that money building up some complicated Clubcard-style analysis.

“Instead the staff have to give away a certain number of hot drinks and food every week. They will decide ‘I like the person on the bicycle’ or ‘I like the guy in that tie’ or ‘I fancy that girl or that boy’. It means 28 per cent of people have had something free. It’s a nice, different way of doing it.”

How do you think things would have changed if the day that Marinette and Adrien get their Miraculouses, Marinette opens her box and nothing happens. No kwami suddenly appearing, no flash of light- just normal looking earrings in a strange box.

I suppose one thing to consider is if putting on the earrings then would bring Tikki to life, would Marinette put the earrings on, on her own?

I don’t see her putting it on immediately. I see her very confused by having it and would probably ask Sabine if these were hers. 

At Sabine’s no, from what I can see, most likely, Marinette would’ve shrugged it off and put the earrings away in her room, not putting them on. We might’ve had Chat Noir running around solo for a while, wondering where his partner is with Marinette entirely unaware that he was waiting for her, and struggling.

And perhaps he wasn’t too highly regarded due to being another source of destruction, just like HM. 

I see Marinette finally putting on the curious earrings when she thinks they would look good on an outfit she made, and cue the freak out when Tikki finally appears. 

A really interesting idea, though also kinda sad too.

Thought of an idea for the prettiness stockpile AU

the longer Izuku (or any holder, really) has the quirk, the more their features blend with the previous users.

i.e. izuku getting Yoichi’s L’Oréal model-thickness hair, making his hair constantly look windblown. He also gains Nana’s mole, the almond eyes that a solid half of the users have, one of the users’ high cheekbones, Daigoro’s build, etc.

Oh man the idea of each successive holder becoming a blend of the others- Second's hair going white and just a bit softer, slimmer- Third's eyes changing to darken just a bit around his slit pupil, doesn't get shorter but does get smaller for all he's still got his muscle- Fourth never quite tanning in the sun to the level he did before he got the quirk- Fifth getting hair grow back, much lighter than his natural color, strands of different shades and textures that would look a mess if it didn't magically look good- Sixth with growing pains but somehow no stretch marks, getting grey hairs but not stress lines around his face- Nana's eyes lightening, shoulders broadening-

It's almost horrifying, knowing as you hold it you'll melt into this person you won't recognize with enough time.

‘Downton Abbey’ movie sequel could happen if the first one is a hit

In very exciting news, Downton star Jim Carter has discussed the possibility of a sequel.

The 70-year-old actor, who plays Mr Carson, told The Telegraph: “…I guess if it goes down well and if it’s a genuine success, I’m sure people will entertain that thought.”

Carter also revealed that the movie’s increased budget will definitely be visible on screen: “The women’s clothes in the film are off the scale, unbelievable.

“It’s a film so everything is revamped, everything is just a bit bigger.”

He explained why the world of Downton Abbey is perfectly suited for movies: “[The TV series] had cinematic qualities to it.

“And it’s not a cynical exercise in making money, I think there was a genuine desire from people to see a film and that didn’t seem to be dying down so we thought, well, it seems perverse in a way not to do it if people really want to see it.”

Zann, If you're open to suggestions, then how about the red string of fate with Dabi? if you believe in the Dabi = Touya theory, maybe at some point in their childhood, something happened to the string during Touya's "death" that made reader believe their soulmate was gone. So imagine her surprise when years later, the (maybe burned) thread begins tugging their finger and leads her to Dabi?

I really really want to see Akumatised Nathalie Sancoeur and then subsequently Chat Noir being completely at war with himself about not really wanting to hurt her but also knowing that it has to be done. Then Ladybug getting more and more frustrated as Chat Noir keeps pulling his punches because she doesn't know that Nathalie is a huge part of his life!

its not only nathalie, we have yet to see either chat noir or ladybug fight a close family member who has been akumatized. but i’d like to think that chat noir fighting nathalie (if it ever happened) wouldnt be much different from his fight against the bubbler; nino is adrien’s best friend, the closest thing he has to a brother, and im sure he didnt want to hurt him either. 

we also dont know the full extent of nathalie’s relationship to adrien. all we know is that she’s his father’s secretary…
