Does Hunter saying "Jesus" imply the existence of a slugcat Jesus Christ who died for their slugcat sins?

sometimes I see debates online over random things, or even things that are supposedly within my sphere of interest (feminism, etc) and I think ‘I just do not care about this at all’. and I actually think that’s a good thing in an online space where random inconsequential things are vying for your attention at all times. loads of debates online are surface level and pointless. you need to recognise that, choose not to engage, and just continue having discussions about things that are actually consequential and have meaning for you. there’s also never a point in ‘winning’ an online argument that is about something that doesn’t matter. finding people who are actually saying stimulating things that you can sink your teeth into (in the online context) is difficult but possible... making the admittedly huge effort to stop wasting my own time
#but rn I'm being more quiet and reading debates between others#esp when it's stuff I don't know a lot about yet and haven't read a lot on#mostly on goodreads forums comment sections of interesting news outlets etc#moth.txt

Went to the bookstore today and asked about their mythology section and this frickin guy had the gall to be like "Yeah it's over here, but these are really dense and difficult so let me show you the children's mythology section." I was so baffled I didn't say anything. Normally I would've been very offended, but I couldn't help but laugh because I was like "I've been reading those massive textbook-esque mythology books since I was a literal child as research for my novel, sir. But sure, show me the kid's section, I like reading kids' books too."
#i talk#I genuinely think he just phrased it really badly and was just being stupid#which is the ONLY reason I was like ''yeah alright I'll let you live''#but I was very amused by that entire interaction#Went up to the register later and he got excited over some of the audiobooks I chose and we had a nice chat about that#I saw he was reading a BNHA comic which surprised me (especially after his previous comment)#and I told him I heard it ended recently and he said he was glad to hear that since so many comics he read as a kid just went on and on#and never ended#I think I've reached that age where I'm just like#''I can recognize you're not being an asshole you were just a bit stupid. Bless your soul''#Coincidentally the big textbook section was right in front of the checkout counter#which was funny because I DID just sit there and flip through a bunch of things for almost half an hour#That reminds me I really do need to read 100 and one nights (Arabian Knights) sometime. That's like the one Big one I've never read#Beowulf too that's the other big one#I just need to find really good audiobook versions of them. I can't sit down and read anymore#Another interesting moment from that same bookstore:#I overheard that dude and his coworker / boss talking with an older guy#and the guy said he was a psychic or something#and the bookstore guy was like ''Can I ask you a question then? I am going to judge you for it if you get it wrong though''#pftt#it was all very lighthearted but I was just like yeah that's my city alright#I miss seeing those random interactions and random moments

strong believer in the idea that relationships should be 50/50. and by that i mean one of you is a weird freak and one of you is a giant nerd
#i say this but we are all freaks and we are all nerds. we are on the freaks and nerds website#was on a productivity call with my partner for half an hour before i left the house so i was tabbing sections in my sources#i read a section that was interesting and also funny. made a comment how its so american-centric after and they ran with it#helps that they are in improv most likely. everything has the possibility for a joke or a bit. but it was funny#anyway. i am full of love ❤️#thea talks

i loveeee the personality database website it’s so fucking funny not knowing enough about the diff personality quiz analysis stuff to Get It yourself but reading all the arguments people are having in the comments of each character abt why their analysis is the most correct actually
#x#hilarious to me to read one comment that’s like ‘ah so refreshing to see a brilliant portrayed ESFP in media i couldn’t have written a more#idealistic and obvious ESFP if i tried <3’ n then the next comment being like ‘anyone who thinks this is an ESFP has rocks for brains#they’re CLEARLY INFT’ like djdndjdjdjdjd girl. you tell them….#it’s actually even more interesting when u start like. picking up the vibe enough to actually agree/disagree w a take but not enough to#argue really decisively Why yet#me in the frank zhang comment section: well i don’t know what enneagram he IS but something abt him being called the peacemaker one doesn’t#actually make sense to me really?#n then two comments down they’ll be someone making that exact argument n i’m like AHA. i knew IT

when applied to criticizing fictional characters i think for some reason i feel the way about “shitty” that many people do about “problematic” as far as it being an unuseful term to toss off
which is OBVIOUSLY, OBVIOUSLY silly because it’s an unserious offhand and casual word, but i can’t help it, my brain still processes it as a descriptor that feels pointless and somehow frustrating to encounter
i was thinking about this reading What Happens Next and seeing how often it was tossed off as a descriptor in the comment section. for me this got tied with how a lot of readers seemed more interested in classifying the cast as all Bad (tm) rather than like ‘ah so this is a character who is xyz and does xyz. Why Have They Done This And What Can We Take From It’ which is to me more interesting than one hundred people repeating What A Shitty Guy. What A Shitty Girl. They Are All ‘Shitty’
relatedly, i think there is an overprioritization of ‘rush to classify characters as good or bad’ in the way a lot of people engage with stories, where the first and foremost thesis of what you are going to say about a character is whether they are good or bad.
someone could probably say ‘well labeling a character doesn’t mean you aren’t also going to do the other stuff and analyze them’, and that’s reasonable, and also true of the word problematic, but, like the association many have developed with problematic, it’s just an association I’ve developed, unforch.

i am fully aware that the new word of the month on my site would have been a much better fit for October ("sanguivorous," adjective - feeding on blood, as a bat or an insect), but alas i choose them randomly and i shall not violate that for the sake of theming.
#friday chats#if y'all are wondering How i choose them#i have a google doc chock-full of interesting words i've found#whether through dictionary.com's word of the day or through reading or songs or whatever else#and i just hover my mouse over the text close my eyes and scroll up and down at random for 30 seconds#a totally efficient process#yes the list is alphabetized. and there's headers for each letter so i can quick-jump to a section if i need to.#And i often comment in the margins with stuff like pronunciation or etymology or related words#AND. it is eighteen pages long.#bc i am a massive fucking nerd who's always loved expanding my vocabulary.

Everytime I find myself on Instagram reels, I find myself hating society more and more.
#this is why I try to stay off of that section of instagram#but that’s the only why my friends communicate with me anymore#sure you could say that I’m only seeing things the algorithm thinks I’ll like but no matter how hard I press ‘not interested’ they push#more garbage down my throat#I’m just there for the animals#I’m tired of seeing all these relationship oriented posts#‘oh no I can’t find a partner my life is awful’ please for the love of whatever higher being learn to love yourself and your presence#no please do not manipulate you s/o or some person for your own gain#plus everyone is just so hateful and judgemental over there.#There is like ZERO reading comprehension in those comments#it’s annoying#like truly#I shall stick to my stance that Tik Tok and Instagram Reels is just a easy way to rot your brain#I shall get off my soapbox now

The uncontrollable urge to scream, yell, run around in circles and do a silly dumb dance whenever I see my favouritest (only really) online friend reblogging my dumb things and making comments about it.
(Talking about @polarized-here who else would I mention? I’m not that social.)
#some mutual appreciation before I log off for the night#anwyas#polar I do hope you read this#and maybe it’s a little dumb to pour my heart out in the tags section of tumblr#but I love you sm /p#I love waking up or coming home from school to see that you’ve reblogged something of mine#it makes me so happy and giddy#it doesn’t feel like I’m talking to a wall anymore#all your silly little comments#you being interested in whatever thing I’ve decided I wanna talk about#I love it and appreciate you so much for#I’m glad I’ve had the pleasure to know you and talk to you#and I hope we’re friends in every other possible universe out there.

obviously the worst parts of the rise of legalized online sports gambling is targeting vulnerable people (especially young people) into addiction/financial trouble, increased violent threats made to athletes/their families, and the direct financial partnership with the leagues, but my least favorite part is that every expression of fan emotion is now captioned with “bet he lost his parlay” or “parlay just hit” or “you only get that feeling with gambling lol.” more conversations about sports are happening for/about gamblers who dgaf about sports and it’s pushing down the age-old seemingly unshakeable truth that people actually enjoy watching sports for the love of the fucking game
#I realize that most of those posts are ads lol but you see it in organic comment sections#tumblr discourse about this (like the five random posts I’ve seen) is so behind Reddit/twitter about this lol#not even touching on the gender aspect of this but it’s so tied to hustle culture#and the absolutely horrid state of gen z masculinity lol#also someone brought up an interesting point recently about how the declining quality of sports video games is kinda killing youth interest#which is a fascinating angle and I think has a lot of merit#bc that’s a whole sphere of fandom not necessarily overlapping with youth sports#which are also in terrible shape with travel ball/increasing costs/one sport athletes/parenting#it’s so funny to me that I was never a ‘sportsball’ person but I also didn’t have a vested interest#bc of my awful personality. but like when I decided to get into it I’m going to do the required readings lol#which is stalking r/nba for a year#sports betting#sports discourse#sports#also gambling is an addiction and addiction is a mental disorder. it’s not so simple as stopping#especially when it’s impossible to escape it with the state of sports broadcasting

One of the great joys of reading scanlations is going to the comment section when it's just a unanimous verdict
#like most of the time you go and there are a lot of people discussing the same point but some disagreement#some of the time you get interesting spoilers (some of which are in the gods don't let the story end up that way)#but when it's just a wall of ?????#like we are united in our confusion#most of the time its cause the translation takes a nosedive and everyone's like did you understand that#but the comic I'm reading just killed the male lead and the entire comment section is just like what???#like it was so poorly excuted that everyone's too confused to be upset#we watched it happen yet nobody knows how he died or like what this means for the story#the one person with a spoiler can't even help cause the spoiler is that's he's gonna come back to life#but that's just raises more questions like how and if so what was the fucking point of killing him then#the disbelief is strong with this one#scanlations#scanlation
