Okay listen, by the end of this I was intentionally trying to make it corny as hell with that text and pink in the background; this piece is entirely inspired by a late 2000s pop song

I may love the song (Crush by David Archuleta btw), but like this felt fitting for what I was doing. Also also that’s where the lyrics here come from

Maybe I’ve overdone it and I’ll regret it in the morning, but it’s late right now and right now it feels right

Here’s a version without it just in case. Feels more bare but not as overdone in the cheesiness

Anyways, I was really bored this morning and without inspiration, and I had already been listening to this song on loop and didn’t want to stop, so eventually I had the bright idea to just make something inspired by the vibes, which meant cute dpax

As for the art itself, I don’t find it too bad. I will admit, I was never able to achieve the exact expressions I wanted on both of them. The “context” here would be Orion falling over and D-16 catching him, and them looking into each other’s eyes and maybe realizing they’ve caught feelings. Or at least D was supposed to feel that way, but by the end I think I just made it both of them

I also probably fudged the anatomy somewhat. To be fair, I had no references for the pose. Also the 3D aspect of the designs probably wasn’t done as well as it could have been. Maybe I need to redraw pictures more, I think it helps in that regard

But yeah, overall I think it came out relatively well

…I don’t think I have more to say here, honestly. It really was just “draw dpax because Crush commands you to”

So uh yeah, go listen to Crush by David Archuleta, it’s a really good song, or at least, I really like it, genuinely. I feel like D-16 would sing it at karaoke or something

I think the soundtrack for Battlestar Galactica rewired my brain in terms of "Space Opera music". Like... if a game or a show or a movie takes place in space there had BETTER be some mournful bagpipes and a guy singing in gaelic or I'll be disappointed.

I've never had noise canceling headphones before and I feel like I'm having a religious experience. I feel like a blinkered horse. Like this is WHY they were blinkered. Apparently the hypervigilance is stored in the ears for me and this not only takes that WAY down to a level I never realized was possible, it also clears the cache of that part of my brain and I can THINK.

Been cleaning up and rearranging stuff a lot lately in preparation for moving, and I'm getting a bit emotional about my first TF figure/toy...

I've had this Jazz for like, 10+ years, and I used to take this guy everywhere. He's so scuffed from being dragged across driveways and playgrounds, and he sits and stands a bit wonky because the plastic cracked along one arm, and both his legs tend to pop off, and he doesn't really transform well anymore because of that. I forgot him in a drawer some years back, but nowadays he gets to sit front and center atop my bookcase ;-;
