Armadillidium nasatum “peach”
Armadillidium nasatum “wild type”
Armadillidium nasatum “peach”
If i remember correctly the peach gene is recessive, so that might explain the little wild type guy
Tumblr media
Color difference in 3 nasatums. Parents are all wild caught orange so idk what the exact genetics are but very cool and very interesting

Rubber Ducky Isopod sketch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ‘rubber ducky’ isopod is a miniature pet with a duck bill face. I see it more as a Darth Vader helmet , haha. These cute little guys are really awesome!
If they ever breed them in jet black, they can call them Vader Duckies! 😅

My little albino Armadillidium vulgare have mellowed to a warm vanilla colour as they've grown. This one seems to be gravid! Fingers crossed for more white pods. (Bad photo as she was quite agile and good at getting off the spoon and legging it across the table.)
This small group is about six months old and all turned up in my wild-caught stripey morphs tub.

the little batch of precious piebald babies 🥹 also one solid white baby??? i am interested to see if that's its true color when it grows up!
Tumblr media
There are also lots of normal juveniles. i suppose i will let them stick around and breed for a while in case they are carrying the piebald gene too.

Armadillidium vulgare “Pennypack Gold” is, in my opinion, one of the most stunning morphs of a very common isopod species.
Tumblr media
my older adults display a deep purplish-gold color, and both sexes are adorned with striking yellow markings. the eyes are a deep burgundy while the antennae seem almost incongruously pale.

they’re possibly one of my favorite morphs of any Armadillidium, very glad to have these

Armadillidium maculatum, also known as zebra isopods, have a couple different color and pattern morphs but I'm happy with my black and white stripe-y guys! They're also pretty large as far as isopods go. A group of their "odes" is now up on my website!
