The world appears to contain misery upon #misery without any relief or soul. It makes engaging with the creative process feel somewhat hollow when weighed against the consuming force #of evil that seems to dominate and crush life. I know it isn’t this way entirely #it can’t be #and I write this desperately because I cannot fully believe otherwise because then there’s simply no point #and I know that despair is what these evil forces wish for us to feel #and to be consumed and destroyed by #and yet creation feels folly when measured against this knowledge #anyway I am functioning and it has been raining a lot lately #which I much prefer to it being sunny and unbearably hot #the context for this piece is that I was thinking a lot about iconoclasm as well as Ebert’s terrible experience in ‘protective custody’ and #so it happened that I made this piece

I love my cats and snuggling with them while they bonk me with their little heads and I give them kisses on their tiny forehead or they let me give them belly rubs while they lay on my chest or they drape themselves over my face like the small chaos gremlin children they are but I suspect I’m developing an allergy against cat hair.
