It is going to sound cruel but I am going to say it, Shisui should have been more honest with Mao²

I am not someone who cares about anyone's journey besides Mao² (maybe a bit about Jinshi) in this whole franchise, so I am not quite emotionally attached to other characters but this is something that needs to be said... Compared to Shisui, Suirei, ironically, (given her initial cold demeanor) remained more open with Mao².... I read somewhere that Loulan/Shisui is what happens when likes of Jinshi let go of mask too late and I couldn't agree more...

Shisui knew MaoMao's station in the rear palace, she was aware about her capabilities and probably knew Jinshi's inclination towards her (tho it is not indicated) but what I believe is that Shisui should have TRUSTED MaoMao little early, she should have not brought everything out in open to her in the mouth of danger...Jinshi is right in terming Shisui as a vixen in the end... While I empathise with her circumstances and hope she could have gotten more time to be real around MaoMao, she nevertheless was a plotter before anything... This is why Jinshi is rather ‘amused’ with her ‘performance’ at the end... He recognises her for what she was — a performer, like him... He sympathised with her as a noble caught in unfortunate politics of her clan but he did not underestimate her facade for the consequences it had...

This is where I ache for MaoMao, she did not deserve to lose such a precious companionship at the altar of politics...This is my belief that Shisui rrealised bit too late that she was betraying a friend...

Both Shisui and Jinshi saw MaoMao as a tool first but Jinshi recognised his folly quite early, and that is why his story with her took a different direction...

Anyone who tries to substitute Jinshi with anyone else for MaoMao forgets this fundamental difference...Jinshi realised with MaoMao, timing is everything, something both Lakan (yes, even Lakan) and Shisui didn't... Jinshi understood MaoMao needs time to process things, whether she realises or not and time is what others are not ready to give her in their scheme of things.... Jinshi's scheme of things include MaoMao but others ‘involve’ her...

That is why the only genuine non-Jinshi relationship I am looking forward to is Chue-MaoMao one...I think Chue had some of the best “understanding MaoMao” moments among other characters...

I will miss Shisui, she was one of the most complex and layered characters in knh, but no, Shisui was not the best MaoMao got... I have to vehemently disagree with Shisui fans here... Although I believe MaoMao got more vulnerable with Shisui than, say Yao and Enen (even though I believe their story was more of coworkers getting along as the story progresses) but Chue is what MaoMao needed as a friend, and I am glad MaoMao got to meet Chue...

I don't know if it was a doomed love story but it was a doomed friendship... What Jinshi or Chue became for MaoMao, I am sorry, Shisui couldn't... Political stakes, owing to her parasitic mother, were just too high for her... I love Shisui but sorry anime only folks, MaoMao is going to meet even more thoughtful and amazing people in the journey... Believe me the best ones are yet to show up....

i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:

hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.

pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.

sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.

we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous

one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.

zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"

sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

When Sol had that 'come to Jesus' moment after seeing Sun Jae come out of the bathroom looking like that I was sort of like lmfao girl why are you freaking out, this isn't the first time you've seen him half-naked. He was a swimmer, the first time she met him (again) he had climbed out of the pool and she just threw herself at him when he was wearing nothing but speedos and a towel.

But then I realized that back then, she didn't really see him as a man back then. He was her idol, her hero. Someone she adored but didn't desire. He's had the body of a Greek god this whole time and she was just like 'nope, precious boy! Must protect!' not a lustful thought in her head.

But it's different now, he's not just an idol to her, he's a man. Someone she loved (and, I'm still convinced, slept with in the other timeline) and seeing him in all his well muscled glory is enough to give her a 'oh no he's hot! he's been hot' moment.

It doesn't help that in this timeline, Sun Jae actually knows how sexy he is, he knows how to weaponize it and that makes him dangerous.

CTW2.0 and Formidable update: These past two weeks have been really difficult with(quite frankly) a real shit time at work so I haven't had much time or inspiration to open my documents this week. With that being said I hope to get Ch.2 of Formidable up either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest, then get CTW2.0 up this weekend.

Was it a bad idea to start publishing two multi-chapter fics at the same time all while coming to the end of the quarter for my job? Yes definitely, but I promise in about two weeks I will have all the time in the world to keep a stable and consistent schedule for both works (and hopefully finally get to some of the oneshots I've been drafting!)

Windsong said it once by accident and she was not seen for 5 days. Reports say there was inhumane screaming and crying coming from her room.

She was then seen with Vila, the woman jokingly calling the ley line researcher"Mommy Comrade" as well.

There's a way to make Windsong learn the consequences to not sleeping and not having proper interaction with others. Her own slip ups.

Windsong hadn't been sleeping for almost 3 days and Vila had to take care of this. She told Windsong in her most serious and commanding voice to at least take a nap since she hadn't even done that.

Windsong's sleepy brain registered the voice Vila only used to command others back in Rayashki and looked up at her with the most pitiful, sleepy eyes ever and said "Yes Mommy comrade" and then stood up lazily.

To say Vila couldn't register those words at the beginning is only a summary of what happened. Vila froze in place, watched Windsong stand up and walk towards the bed with the most bewildered face ever and then watched her stop.

In front of the bed, about to throw herself onto it, Windsong finally registered her own words and slowly turned to Vila with the most haunted and terrified face ever. In response, Vila held back her laughter, it took every muscle in her body to do so.

"Comrade Windsong, what did you call me?"

"Vila please leave I need a moment"

And Windsong spent those five days in her room, the first two were her screaming and kicking everything around her every time she managed to remember those words. The other three were her sleeping and trying to forget.

When she walked out of her room (she did eat and all but did it when nobody was around) she got in contact with Vila and they went about their day normally with no mention of what happened

At least until Vila, in an empty hall, said to Windsong in a low voice after she finished talking about her research: "I understand, Mommy comrade"

And Windsong combusted on the ground.

I'm wondering how well (or not, lol) tbhtbh valtor would handle bloom not only being in love and in a relationship with someone else, but if it was with someone who wasn't so... lackluster and insecurity-inducing as sky. if it was someone like stella or another character who had her total devotion and who couldn't be a weakness to exploit in the way that sky was for bloom.

Fox has tea with the Chancellor every day.

Fox quells the hammering in his chest with practiced routine. Formula: apply the remedy—in for five, out for seven. He wills his hands to stop shaking.

How many times has he done this little ritual? How many closed doors has he stood behind, trembling in his armor? He can recall every moment and every door but it doesn’t matter how many ways he tries to come at it. He’ll replay this forever, every time.

He exhales—five, six, seven—and the door to the Chancellor’s office slides open silently.

The room is dimmed in a dragging way, heavy weight to it that reminds him of sleep. The room is carpeted and every sound dampens and disappears to a faraway, hazy other place. This is a room where time stops.

The Chancellor’s sitting calmly, scribbling on a datapad as Fox enters.

He looks up when Fox walks closer to the chair by the desk. “Ah, Fox. Good to see you, son.”

Fox takes the seat across from him and removes his helmet, setting it in his lap. A server droid trundles in behind him, silver skin shimmering smoothly with the orange lighting in the room. It places a broad tea platter on the desk in between them.

The Chancellor serves him. Fox sits there, his hands frozen on his helmet, unsure of what to do with his hands, even though this is more than the tenth time they’ve done this—tea, together. He watches as Palpatine pours sugar and milk into the steaming black liquid, watches as he methodically stirs it and the liquid pales into a light brown. He pushes it in front of Fox.

“Busy day, eh?” Fox musters, an attempt at conversation. The Chancellor rarely has any of his work out when he comes in, but today, he’s putting away the datapad after pouring tea.

“Ah, series of bills, just flimsiwork,” the Chancellor says through a sigh. He shuts the drawer under his desk, and pours himself a generous cup of tea, served black. “Go on, drink up. Force knows I need it,” he says wryly, and drinks.

Fox takes a sip of his tea. It’s milky-sweet and just hot enough to warm him all the way down. All Fett clones have a sweet-tooth, arising from an unconscious, programmed desire for any kind of energy they can get their hands on, handy for battle. Fox isn’t a front-liner, he’s a glorified security guard, he goes offworld so rarely, so it’s wasted on him. Fox takes another sip—slow, small. He rolls the liquid in his mouth till the sugar coats his whole tongue in a disgusting, thick layer.

The Chancellor asked him how he took his tea the first time they sat down like this and never had to ask again. Each time Fox shows up, at the same precise time every day, except weekends, there’s a cup waiting for him. Perfectly creamy and sweet. Fox stomach churns in anticipation; he craves the taste daily.

“Good, isn’t it?” The Chancellor says, smiling. “The leaves are from the royal collection back home, from Naboo. It reminds me of my early years there. Ah, what a time.”

Royal tea, Fox thinks dully. He thinks of his brothers scattered across the stars, in trenches and forest camps, losing blood, making a difference. And here he is, having tea with the Chancellor, reminiscing.
