I also like that dropping a bomb of information and bracing himself for consequences is just Aldia's life now, for this or that reason!

He doesn't reveal his identity to Bearer of the Curse until only after they've waded through Aldia's Keep, a horrifying faculty of mad experiments on creatures AND people, conducted by him. And just now they know that the weird creature who gave them advice previously IS the one responsible for all they've just seen! But Aldia already explained them what to do prior, and is probably fully ready that Bearer would not want to see him again. He also changes sizes and in this conversation he is the smallest we ever see him, and even sounds more "vulnerable" than in literally every other conversation with him. Like, he is not proud. He expects the shock.

And this is just something I only wonder about, but maybe Lothric did not react well at all when Aldia suggested that he just does Not link the fire! Not only Lothric was groomed since birth to be nothing but a sacrifice, but also it'd hurt to hear the teacher he trusted to suggest simply "dooming" the world! But again, even if Lothric straight up yelled at him and told him to not ever appear again, I'd think Aldia already gave him enough information prior to The Hard Conversation for Lothric to think about it with or without him! (Though I also like to think that Lorian, THE person interested in Lothric staying alive, could nudge him towards reconnecting with Aldia and asking him to elaborate.. sure his teacher could not have just appeared to be a sneaky "heretic", it was just misunderstanding and Lothric must know it too, right?)

What I am saying is, I think Aldia used to get all important information out of the way before he has to say something that will most likely result in it being the last time he talks to someone. He has been through some weird shit but didn't lose his emotions, though, so he'd probably still prefer people to stick around, but it is what it is. Though for the latter thing like with Lothric, where he has to cause cognitive dissonance, I feel like Aldia himself misses the times when he didn't know what he knows. Well, Vendrick too, to think of it

A little zine about how I (still) have trouble saying the word aromantic.

I've never made a zine before! I was inspired to try it because @queerliblib mentioned a zine making night in an email. That hasn't happened yet - its on June 26th - but once I had the idea, I couldn't wait, lol. It was nice to put something down on paper and have the finished product to hold onto.

Page 3 says: But there are a few problems:

aro: Opaque if you don't already know the term.

Page 4 says: It doesn't actually come up too often! Which is fine. My coworkers, my neighbors, and strangers don't need to know I'm aroace. I just wish I could say it sincerely when I do want someone to know. 

Page 5 says: I always have to smile - laugh - hedge. "Oh, well, actually, I'm kind of like, aromantic? Basically just not interested."

It's been more than 8 years since the first time I said it out loud!  I'm certain of it, but I still can't say it like I mean it!

Page 6 says: The most memorable time I said "I don't date" the guy I was talking to asked "Oh are you asexual?" and I said "Yeah, actually. And aromantic." And we moved on.

That was nice. 

Page 7 says:

The times I've lead with "I'm aromantic" -- well, there's only one I really remember:

"I didn't use to think that was a real thing." 

Other than that time -- even if I use the word, I always explain what it means first! 

Page 8 says: I just hope that one day I'll feel like I can say, simply, confidently: "I'm aromantic" and "I'm aroace."

The words "I'm aromantic" are big and dark green, the color of the top stripe of the aromantic flag. The words "I'm aroace" are big and bright orange, the color of the top stripe of the aroace flag. Three hearts below the words are colored to look like the aromantic, aroace, and asexual flags.

what brushes do you use for sketching

how to you get the anatomy correct? every time I draw a bust/headshot the head looks too big

1.Recently using this brush! 2.10+ years of practice and study. Study lots of photos, start by tracing, then drawing side by side. Learn to "measure" with your eyes. Soon your eyes (and mind) will be trained enough to be able to notice any anatomy out of place.

Hey! Just wanted to ask, got any tips for highlights in pixelart? Ive got shadows down decently enough that i can at least stand looking at them a week later, but i have struggled with highlights and brighter lights in general. Also, awesome stuff, your space elevator piece got me into trying pixelart and it has been a fascinating journey so far

honestly when i first started i worked a LOT in black/white/values. i also tend to work dark to light, so ill build a piece up from its darkest areas, then finish with the highlights.

here is some of my art edited so you can see the values:

contrasting highlights against shadows will always make them stand out more and be more striking. i usually add a lot of rim lighting to pieces bc it’s like easy mode for focal points so i def recommend looking that up and learning about that!! truly though working in EXTREME values will help you get to more nuanced values so def try to work with a small color palette for a few times and seeing how that changes your understanding. when i first started out a LOT of my art was monochromatic just because i was focusing on values instead of color and i think that helped a lot!! examples of that:

let me preface this by saying that i do not have tik tok so i have absolutely zero clue what is going on over there. everything i know i have picked up through osmosis on other plattforms.

sooooo: seems like there was/is a tiktok challenge going around based on "baby tee" by galchanie where people dance to it sexily, showing off their waist?? as i said, i don't have tiktok so this is my assumption here. btw, here's a screenshot from the original mv, to provide some extra context. note the crop tops:

now that we have all this out of the way, let's get to the actual lore...

on march 18th, 2025 dunk posts this video on tiktok:

it's a fake-out. dunk does not show off his waist. joong comments:

and there you have it. the lore behind baby tee. and the reason why this performance is a Big Deal and very iconic™ in its own way, even if (to outsiders) it may not seem as such

also: minus points to dunk for straightifying the song by changing the lyrics from "boy you're my baby tee-ee-ee" to "girl you're my baby tee-ee-ee" and many plus points to joong for actually keeping the "boy" in "boy you fit in me"

lil reminder that prentice was beacon of the golden towers before he was arrested. both he and wylie probably thought that they'd see each other in the towers when he was a level seven. and wylie probably thought he'd see tiergan around the base levels as a mentor too, since he was still teaching there before he resigned in protest of prentice's arrest. and prentice and leto were probably work buddies alongside being in a rebellion together, since leto was beacon of the silver tower presumably before and after prentice's arrest.

yeah i do think it really sucks actually that we finally get dwarf lore this game but it’s handled so poorly and completely at the expense of the elves. i also dont like that it flattens the dwarves & ignores what lore we have seen previously.

@ikarons pointed out to me that kal-sharok specifically is the thaig that destroyed the original cadash thaig for sheltering elves fleeing the tevinter emperium after the fall of artlathan (which is a huge glaring piece of information to exclude here). kal-sharok has both been previously abandoned to die by their own people and also committed horrific acts of violence and they are completely separate from orzammar (and resent them!) but this game presents the dwarves as this homogeneous entity that doesn’t hold any fault or complexity... we know there is a huge variation in dwarf culture and politics that just doesn't get acknowledged at all; they do them a huge disservice by focusing entirely on Harding and how special she is and how evil the evanuris are.

this was a real missed opportunity in my opinion to give more depth to both the evanuris and the dwarves, but we lose all of that in this game because people can only be good or bad and we can’t have any nuance, it was all the evanuris's fault and they did it just because they're so evil. and we'll blame the elves, too, while we're at it. sad!

Why people don't like 3rd person pov? Genuinely asking because as a non native I prefer 3rd person. And tbh it doesn't matter to me anyways, sometimes I read books till the middle and realise they're 3rd pov (maybe I shouldn't say that💀) but my point is both are easy for me to understand and doesn't matter to me.

Pertaining to the last ask, to your friends, what does a person like them notice when a system (like you) is switching alters/headmates?

Some answers from our partner:

- Voice changes, pitch, tone, way of speaking. Even when masking there are tells like pauses between words, or different words used, or pronounciation of words (like the brits pronouncing words brit-way and Mahito's "t"s).

(Mahito's "t"s referring to Mahito pronouncing his t's very harshly in most words.) Some of us speak with more energy even when masking (like Red) or much less (like Dain).

Some people (Soul, Vince) use words like "quite" much more often than others. There's other vocabulary differences like that.

- Ways of moving. Different way you sit, different ways you walk, how much you trip, some people (Merlin) act like they've never had legs before.

We've been told by others that Crowley walks with a "smug aura" and that Vena walks "like a businessman". I think a friend once said Vince has a "overly confident straight male" walk.

Shrapnel and Onslaught are known to sit as spread out as possible (subconsciously, they aren't deliberate about it)--to the point where Onslaught's girlfriend has to remind him. Onslaught and Heart tend to put their feet up where possible. Dain tends to sit making himself as small as possible.

Some people need our cane more often than others because they're worse at walking--Merlin, Mystery, Fin, Mike, etc.

What foods/drinks you go for.

Vince and Shrapnel both have different regular cafes they prefer to go to--Shrapnel having specific drink orders as well. Merlin is known to mainly go for fruits and berries if he can get his hands on them, while Shrapnel and Rave normally go for something spicy.

So.... In the end, it's a lot of small patterns people can notice that might seem like regular day-to-day differences. After all, someone pronouncing things a little weirdly and wanting to go to a specific cafe one day doesn't make them a system! But sometimes, those things happen because of a system. But because differences in routine and life are part of being a person in general, there's not really that much of a line between "singlet who wants to go to this store for a change" and "this headmate really only likes this one specific store and fronted for the first time in 6 months". That's why it's hard to identify a system unless they tell you, in a lot of cases--if you can't see what's going on internally, differences are easy to brush off!
