I just know in my heart of hearts that in "Star Trek" at one point, there was some moral panic somewhere on Vulcan (among the uppity sorts) because Human culture was "infecting" the local youth with their overly emotional, destructive, unproductive, frivolous, and uneducational ways.

And what was actually happening was that a bunch of Vulcan kids got really into 23rd-century "Minecraft" or something.

I see so many people starting to use Threads as a way to escape Twitter and yes, it's owned by Facebook's CEO and giving Facebook the monopoly of social media is bad but I think we should also talk about the fact that, you know, Threads isn't avalibe in the EU for privacy reasons????? That should be concerning to EVERYONE

Another WIP for another thing I'm working on

I've seen a lot of different takes on Fear Toxin/other fear causing stuff (Yellow Lanterns Ring or something)(later just called Fear Toxin cause I'm lazy) but here is another one.

Danny seems like he isn't affected by Fear Toxin because his biggest fear is that his accident changed him so much he is no longer human, he can no longer truly experience human things.

So when he gets lungful of fear Toxin, he feels normal. He was antsy before, because c'mon, it's a rogue attack but it's not worse. Or so he thought. Because the anxiety lingers. Not enough to register as abnormal just this slight hypervigilance that makes you see things about yourself and your surroundings that you'd never realize otherwise. He'd realize he doesn't blink as often. He'd realize that if he doesn't consciously focus, he sometimes seems to not touch the ground. Forgets to breathe. He can't feel his own pulse at time. He'd realize people will miss him when he's walking down the street as if he was invisible (people just don't care about everyone they pass by). When he'd look straight into his reflection, he'd look slightly to the left. Not enough to actually name anything that was wrong but just stretched enough to fall on the wrong side of the uncanny valley. If he just caught his reflection in the peripheral vision, it'd be vaguely shadowy creature with glowing green eyes and white smoke instead of hair. Overall he'd be just wrong enough to be distinctly not human.

For everyone else, he'd be just a dude. Literally couldn't find more normal dude than this dude. Will pass as absolutely normal human unless someone is specifically looking for ecto-ghost stuff. Even most magic users wouldn't clock him at the glance

Tldr: Fear Toxin makes Danny perceive himself as some sort of eldritch horror but not enough to make him believe he'd actually be affected, while from outside perspective he's Just A Dude™

i have never seen a mini bootlegs of anything past gen 6. there haven't been any new ones made for years, as far as i've seen. this is game changing.

I woke up at 4 am last night and wrote this SQH with little MBJ snippet before passing the f out again:

SQH wrung his hands. MBJ was still crying. He'd done everything he could think of, making sure the kid wasn't too hot, feeding him, triple checking for injuries-

It wasn't like he was being too loud either. The kid's tears were near silent- just harsh breathy gasps of air in between jags where he just shook, tears streaming down his adorable round baby face.

"Are you sure you aren't hurt?" he asked helplessly. He pressed the back of his hand against MBJ's appropriately cool forehead again, like this time it would reveal the little demon's secrets.

MBJ shook his head, "I want my mama." he said before somehow crying harder.

oh but...

SQH mentally double checked his MBJ backstory - the very thing he was currently messing up- but no, yeah... He was remembering correctly.

At this point in his life MBJ's mother was already dead.

...

That was just fucking soul crushing wasn't it?

SQH sat down on the floor next to MBJ.

"Oh I'm sorry." he said, not sure if he was apologizing for the situation or his own decision a lifetime ago to write her out of the story quickly. He hadn't even had a good reason. Dead Moms were just a trope. "I'm so sorry she can't be here for you."

He reached out and pulled the little boy into his lap. MBJ flinched again, like he had every time SQH had touched him, like he was expecting the touch to hurt.

That tore at SQH'S tattered soul even more. He didn't trust himself to speak around the lump in his throat so he just hugged MBJ close and rocked him back and forth while stroking his hair and humming thoughtlessly.

After the initial flinch MBJ went utterly relaxed against him, like he was too tired to fight SQH's embrace.

Eventually MBJ's crying stopped and he dropped into the deep sleep of the truly exhausted. If SQH kept up the cuddling even after that it was nobody's business but his.

Favourite Fíli headcanon:

He's a calm and responsible dude, who can be left to his own devices since he has been an older child, without anything wild happening, while Kíli needed some more supervision.

Though, once in a blue moon, he exhibits the most random unfazed gremlin energy one can imagine, which always happens out of nowhere.

An example:

Thorin: "Fíli, lad, where have you been? And why are you covered in cobwebs? And- why are you dripping wet??"

Fíli: "Ah, don't worry about that, uncle. Though, we appear to have some kind of leakage in the old mines. I guess, maybe some kind of underground stream? Someone should probably look into that."

Thorin: "The- you were in the abandoned mines?"

Fíli: "Ah, well, you see. I happened to crave a walk last night and was in the mood to have a look at the unrestored parts of the mountain, which turned out to be a mistake, as I came to learn, when the floor gave out underneath me, though in the end, the fall wasn't too bad, thanks to the flooding, though I could have done without the diving part, to be honest. Maybe block off the corridor above the old mines for now?"

Thorin: "... What? You- what! Last night? It's mid morning! You were down there since last night!? You had to dive!?"

Fíli, with a casual wave of his hand: "Yeah, but wasn't too bad, to be honest, since I found my way, as you can see. Look, I found this seashell underwater. Isn't that curious? I do wonder, where that came from. Maybe the lake? I guess, I'm going to take a bath, have a nap and some breakfast and then hit the library. Maybe there is a stream connecting the lake and the mines. We will see. Sorry for missing the meeting this morning. See you later, uncle!"

A lot of older TMNT fans dislike the ROTTMNT designs for making the brothers barely look like turtles but actually I enjoy them looking mostly humanoid

They resemble the person they were mutated with a lot, they look like new species entirely and they went into drastically different direction with sharp, pointy dynamic lines, rather than huge round blobified shapes the other series were going for

Plus the designs and thought process behind each of them are amazing

Mine is because I had just finished being utterly eviscerated by one half of my OTP getting hit by a car (on the cusp of them getting to live happily together against all the odds on a show I genuinely trusted to be BETTER than that. Reader, they were not better than that), and I felt the burning need to create a fandom blog RIGHT THAT SECOND so I could share the pain with other fans without totally flooding my main blog with it (in retrospect, I should have just flooded it. But ah well).

Only I still had actual tears running down my face so was not in much of a state to choose, and am in general just SO BAD AT NAMING THINGS. And I was feeling a little silly for caring so much about what happened to these fictional characters in the first place, so I went with exactly what I was feeling in that moment, which was WAY too invested in a tv show. The plan was always to change it to something better as a soon as I calmed down and worked out what that might be.

Only remember the part about how I am SO BAD at naming things?

Yeah. Well, that never went away. And then people started getting to know me as waytooinvested and therefore changing it would cause confusion, and, well, now it's 10 years later and here we are.

I still want to change it. I still don't know what to change it to. I still have the issue of once more being known by this name and not wanting to accidentally lose people via a change.
