A fish out of water story I just remembered last year I did some siren!jon and selkie!martin, so here is some more of them, for the end of May

he's not even disappointed, just tired

do you ever timothy stoker. tim drowning in depression and grief after losing danny, wanting answers, constantly snapping at everyone and everything until sasha comes along and draws him out of his shell

the two of them get along well, and they run into jon. prickly awkward jon, who can't socialize with people well, but can be convinced to spend their lunch breaks together and talked into getting drinks

and then jon gets promoted over sasha, and tim is definitely bitter about that. over sasha?

and now he's more distant than before, but still jon. a bit of an asshole, but loveable. at least until tim finds out that he was literally stalking him. tim basically losing sasha and jon in the same fell swoop and that half there bitter anger rears its head again, until it's all tim can properly feel.

he'll never know what the actual sasha looked like. will never remember her mannerisms when he goes to think about her. another thing he's lost to the stranger.

he'll never be able to look at jon again without that feeling of sharp betrayal, red hot anger that cuts like a knife. because they had been friends, hadn't they? one of the few people that tim actually wanted to keep close, and now look at where they are.

and timothy stoker is, once again, alone. back at square one -- his only purpose revenge. and this time, tim won't stop at anything to get it. not like he has a reason to live outside of that, anyway.

the thing about archivist sasha is that. you gotta write jon out of existence for it to work. the web marked him specifically because it singled him out as the agent that would help fulfill its designs and jonah's primary reason for picking jon was also that he came pre-marked by the most dangerous, bothersome entity. bootstrap paradox type plot point. ergo in a universe where he isn't archivist, mr spider never happened, but mr spider is a defining character backstory moment for him. he would've never joined the magnus institute if he hadn't had that traumatic episode. so. to conceive an archivist sasha au a) you have to give sasha her own version of a guest for mr spider; b) jon isn't marked by the web and is a completely different person because of it and doesn't work at the institute. otherwise, to explain his presence there you have to give him a traumatic episode with some other entity (like tim and the stranger)

now you can just say wow what the hell this is fanfiction you can do whatever you want forever. thats true ✌️ unfortunately i have the overthinker's curse and cannot overlook this. also jon and elias's fates are entwined in every universe amen

n you just sigh. your entire body relaxing into him as you finally find some sort of relief from the cramps that have been damn near constant for almost three days now. robbs expression softens, glad that he can bring you some sort of relief.

& in the back of his mind, he curses this damn war. because if you both were back in winterfell, he’d take away your pain in a heartbeat. give you a child, make you a mother. you’d like that, wouldn’t you?

genuinely, it's so funny to me when jon.elias shippers hate j.mart for the specifically stated reason that "martin isnt good for jon". Yes, the guy with realistic flaws and traits that occasionally create conflicts with Jons own flaws and traits is bad for him, so jmart is toxic. Jon deserves someone who treats him right.

In fact, you know who's good for Jon? The person who effectively used him as a puppet, made a plan centered on scarring him for life 13 times and executed it without remorse, then used his body to end the world, an experience so horrifying that Jon would rather literally kill everyone on earth than risk someone else feeling it too. Now that's a guy Jon deserves!

God I'm thinking about Tim and losing my mind. He put so much effort into his job in the beginning. Because it was his one shot at finding out what happened to his brother, at actually understanding why someone would do that, at why it happened to him of all people. But also, more than that, he cared so much about his job. He checked in on his coworkers frequently. He threw the guy he didn't think deserved the promotion a birthday party. He checked in on them! He took care of them! He said "when we're all old and sick of each other", he expected to still talk to them when they old. He expected to have time to grow sick of them. He felt safe with them, he felt comfortable again. Elias hired people without strong connections to other people or people who would miss them. They mightve been his first friends in a very, very long time. He finally thought things would get better. That he'd have a life outside of his brother. And when his bonds with the archival staff crumbled, he had nothing left to fall back on. He had nothing left. All he had left was his anger. "This was always how it was going to go." He was always going to get attached to people that whatever the hell was out there wanted for themselves, to people who didn't care about him, to people who he was second priority to. He was never going to really matter. He's just the side character in a tragedy. He's the distraction. I need to eat my own hands.

pérez doesn't seem to know bart's supposed to be older than fourteen any more than deodato did but spurrier is in my good books for now for the fact alone that he's aware of how important max and bart are to each other.
