going to be so annoying in anon right now bc im ashamed of my nerdiness. /j or whatever. so uh, hi! been obsessed with your noir stuff for probably over a year now and i finallt finished reading the comics- yes ik. it took me a while. motivation and all that jazz.
i feel like i have his personality down (i want to write for him- fic or just essay shit or rp, idk— and also just want to get him.) but honestly personality is such a difficult thinf for me to get beyond pure vibes. my general consensus is obviously the anger issues and passion, obsessive tendencies, and care and love that peter often has to balance with his “i cant let myself be close to people because theyre gonna die” vibes and him trying to convince himself and others hes a lone wolf.
im tied up a lot with him masking- because its canon (beyond the pun, even), like when he says he practiced lines and the like. its heavily implied (if not outright said, my memory is spotty and im running off no sleep rn lol, sorry if im wrong) that a lot of his behaviors as the spider-man are based off him trying to be adult like and forcinf himself to grow up and out of a lot of the softness that he’s even shown to have in the beginning of vol1. and while i do think the bitterness and anger and the like are genuine parts of his personality, they also lowkey come from him putting on airs to repress a lot of the fear and hurt and loss he’s suffered… idk. and like, he is noir in and out of the mask (at least after everything in ewoaf) but hes still… that identity he has… its jaded and hurt and repressed and lowkey masking to some degree, still. idk!!! all my opinion, but i’m finding it very hard to balance the aspects of his personality and what is just him and what is airs he’s putting on.
anyway, sorry for the ramble!! basically, tldr; what are your thoughts on peter’s personality, like how you would describe it ig, with and without the mask?
It’s been so long since I’ve flexed these muscles. Let’s get into it. And also im not the best at completely discerning and writing out personalities either but if we all come together I think we could do it. Socratic seminar style
Okay first off I agree w everything you’ve said already. And honestly there’s nothing wrong with working off vibes!! Vibes are a solid foundation and flexible enough to account for the irrational, impulsive teenager that Pete can be.
The anger issues are a give in not just for this Pete but any Peter Parker really. But the world and life that Pete has found himself in are so cruel and taxing and unfair that it’s dialed all the way up to 11. So much of that has to do with agency as a young person in a corrupt city. Even without all the noir 30s shit, being young is hard and frustrating because of the lack of control over yourself and your situation. It’s like when you’re restrained and your body kinda buzzes until you can explode and get yourself out. It’s like that but.. personality wise? And also just like the simple state of the body in the 30s and how that affects mood and disposition. Exhausted, cold, hungry—-and then after the bite, alien, dangerous, othering.
I think this ties into his passion and obsessive tendencies too. He needs to do something. Everyday either feels stagnant or worse so he locks in on this drive to change anything. This is also totally helped by the fact that he was raised by Aunt May and Uncle Ben, who are incredibly incredibly driven and outspoken, so much so that Ben was killed for it. And I like to think that he’s kicked it into high gear to keep Ben alive in a sense. He’s trying to keep up with what he thinks Ben would have believed. Which of course, he doesn’t always understand…
Peter is, for all intents and purposes, explicitly said to be naive by Urich. Issue 1, Urich is already like damn this kid is going to burn himself out because he doesn’t know any better. And he’s not wrong! But I think his naivety goes even deeper than that, where he’s even just not completely comprehending what Uncle Ben stood for. I think this is most notable in his choice of costume—or should I say uniform (and also the Frankenstein stuff but that’s way too much to explain for this)?
He’s literally dressed in his uncle’s WWI helmet, trench, and is using his gun. The uniform that was hidden away in a trunk, I think? There’s a lot that can be said about him dressing himself in wartime gear, but that’s for another time. But WWI, that was famously so violent and unprecedented and horrifying, that had soldiers coming home with awful PTSD? And not to mention that socialists don’t like war? Come on Pete, there are connections your neurons need be synapsing here. It’s such a teenager thing for him to do. Here’s why MY fight is good, and the other ones are bad. And that’s another thing—-the kid is righteous in a way that boarders (or completely bleeds into, depending on the situation) haughtiness. One of my personal favorite ways to portray this lack of awareness is to make all his feelings psychosomatic. Can’t reflect if you’re just feeling it instead of thinking!
And you mention that he’s the spider in and out of the mask, which I also agree with. That’s why he’s so infuriating to figure out cause it’s like where does the kid stop and the vigilante begin, but I think that’s a lot of what makes up who he is. But yeah, where he mentions he practices lines to make himself come off as more intimidating, more grown, shows that there is some differences in how he portrays himself, but it’s not necessarily the case that his personality is different. The moment that really exemplifies is this when he says a cool line, it doesn’t get him into that speakeasy, and he thinks ‘that usually works in the movies.’ COME ONNN that’s a kid under there! He’s playing at what he thinks an adult is.
This idea of him sort of putting on a show of what he thinks is grown would be where the Felicia relationship could have fit if anyone had bothered to treat it with the gravity it needed to be handled with. The first time Felicia makes a move he’s visibly uncomfortable, but this kind of relationship continues and he appears to be a more willing participant because this is what adults do. It’s fucked up but it’s noir and everything’s shitty. There’s narrative purpose to it.
I think for balancing his disposition in and out of the mask, a big player is how consciously he’s putting up a front. There is totally a level of subconscious repression just day-to-day because of the horrifying things he’s witnessed. It’s not safe to be vulnerable. And we know there’s something under all that anger! He loves physics, he wants to go to college, he can joke and laugh with Robbie, we’ve seen him get comfortable and smile around Urich. It’s just that anger is his emotional outlet. It’s an appropriate emotion to portray that won’t make him any more vulnerable than he already is. He cares so deeply about people and his community and it infuriates him that everyone is living the way they are—uncertain and despairing and powerless. These are constants in and out of the mask. It’s just that adding the mask means he is now trying to put on a persona, in a way. A kinda shitty one, until post ewaf where he’s just crushed emotionally. There’s a progression on how dependent he allows himself to be over the course of the two volumes, but talking about that’s just gonna make this reply even longer lol
Okay this is such a long winded ramble and now that im here im not even sure I hit every point you brought up. But that’s okay because this can be an open conversation 💪
I hope this is somewhat helpful? I get kinda nervous writing this out in case it seems like it isn’t true to canon LMAO. I spend so much time thinking about him w personal head canons and way-too-deep blink-and-you-miss-it analysis that im not sure how much I diverge from the comics LOLL

OKKK THE NEW CHAPTER? POP OFF ITS FANTABULOUS
I loved it
Nameless here to make your day brighter 💜
OKAY THRAGG MAKING A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL???? (even if it was totally awkward)
I headcanon that lex and slade where making just grimacing in
"yo wtf this you say to my girl bff????"
Okay but cecil having the contingency plan for Batsis Being Debbi is so Real because even i would fold for my mother, Debbi is the real hero
Loved Damian being the rational one with
"i didn't like thia Thragg dude"
I need Damian redemption/Sorry arc with Jon please, also need Jason and Batsis meeting again and Jason being clingy over his baby sister, make the other suffer, I need Talia to start sending homemade stuff and sending it to Batsis in a way of being sorry (im just won over food) and Damian leaving her food offerings like sweets and that type of stuff,
YOU KNOE WHAT WOULD BE EVEN FUNNIER?!
Viltrumites are technically an ALIEN species, they dont get how stuff works on earth so imagine this, Thragg bei g the one 'interested' and being 0.000001% touched by human kindness for some random day he see one or two batsis's suitors giving her things, like food, pastries or i dunno a soft hoddie, and he starts believing that is the way of courting in thia planet so he starts also doing that but Thragg being Thragg obviously exagerates a lik bit, because he wants to show he's the better one the one Batsis should choose over the others (which still doesn't work) and Thragg unknown to hin enteres the competition for Batsis love.
ALSO WAIT I HAVE A QUESTIONNNNNNN
Are we having a Invincible war ARC?!?!
LIKE WITG TGE MULTIPLE MARKS?!
How aree they gonna be with batsis ?
Are we gonna know their backgrounds?
Do they even have a Batsis that tales care of them????
Is Batsis a multiversal constant?
Or does This Mark is the only one with a Batsis?!
Like does the Viltrumite Mark (the one without a mustache) has a Batsis ?
Or does sinister mark has a batsis?! Did he ate them??
Or....... Instead od an invincible war...... Its
The Sorceress War ARC?!
Whatever the plan may be i bet they're gonna be fine.....
Because
They are
*title card*
INVINCIBLE
-Nameless💜
Tumblr media
HIII BESTIEEE LET'S GOOOO
Thragg has zero perception of Earth customs and is winging it based on the information of one viltrumite. (that is a romantic at heart and despite finding the internet and knowing so much more is feeding his prince what he wants for an enemies-to-lovers real life event. He is failing.)
Lex and Slade heard marriage and they noped the fuck out- even if there was the possibility of Thragg meaning some random Viltrumite with like Mark- nope- no- don't even want to think about it-
Cecil's contingency plan for Batsis being Debbie is mostly because he knows he can find some way for Nolan and Mark, I mean- hit them hard enough is an option- But the man has this pure part of paranoia about batsis that simply can't compute that she could be taken out by simply hitting hard enough, so emotional manipulation it is.
So uh- Jason is remeeting Batsis in ch 25 (❁´◡`❁) but sadly Damian is still grounded. This will happen- Jason will become a menace as will everyone else :)) (I, also, can be brought with food, so Talia using that will also happen)
:) :) :) You're going to find a little thing I did in ch 25 as a haha very on point to this. And now instead of an haha it will become a canon thing to Thragg, thank you. The backpacks will hate this man with an irrational, burning passion- the one thing they can all agree on.
WE ARE INDEED HAVING AN INVINCIBLE WAR ARC! They're not getting away from my grubby little hands- I even have a Mark that is a complete wildcard- not canon whatsoever- and I love him!
All of them have a dead YN(or most) they knew to some degree or another, one was just a friend, one was a bio sis, another one had a nemesis YN that is now MIA, etc etc. I just haven't decided on who's who- it'll probably be random tbh, based on vibes- Mustache!Mark will get bullied. The Viltrumite mustache will get made fun of so much in that chapter/those chapters.

margot: 👄 😱 auggie: 🔮😭 elias: 🎨 🤲
reblogged that last night and then completely forgot abt it WHOOPS anyway thank uuuuu. this got SO long so it's going under a cut
👄: How do they talk? What's their vocabulary like? What does their voice sound like? Any accent, verbal tics, etc?
like a lot of things about margot, there are a few answers to this question. she has a paris hilton vibe in that she puts on a voice in a higher register a lot, especially as a kid, mostly to appease her mother and to use in pageants. it's probably not dissimilar to a young britney spears. she has a bit of a southern us accent that i think she plays up especially when she's at competitions not in the south to give a sort of ditzy but innocent southern princess vibe that is VERY antithetical to her actual self. her real voice is a bit deeper and raspier (she and auggie both started smoking before they were even teenagers so there's a bit of that in there too). she comes from a wealthy family so she's well educated and heavily encouraged to speak eloquently but not TOO eloquently (don't want to make your future husband feel stupid) but i think she's got a very good vocabulary that she likes to flex. or she goes in the opposite direction and swears like a sailor. or both. whatever she thinks will annoy people the most in the moment.
😱: Do they have any irrational fears/phobias? How do they cope with them?
margot's only fear is being separated from her twin. when this does start to happen she copes with it Badly. specifics of margot's pre-college summer are still being worked out but it's not any Better than auggie's pre-college summer. and we all know how That's going.
🔮: If they were to feature in the art of a tarot card, which one would it be and why?
ooooooh. i pulled out my personal tarot book to consult on this one so if my interpretations are off its because i'm using a Specific deck lol. i'm going with the seven of cups because at least in my deck it references coming to a point where you all of a sudden realize you've built a house of cards and a world around yourself or a self based on lies and deception and falsehoods and tbh this could also be elias but he's a little more Concious of what he's doing than auggie is. where auggie is kind of just going through life doing whatever makes the most sense for him and it's kind of always a terrible decision. could also see him as part of the devil card but not as the corrupting force but the one being corrupted.
😭: How easily do they cry? Do they ever cry in front of other people? When was the last time they cried?
auggie used to cry WAY more. he cried a fuck ton as a child. he grew out of it, though. after years of his parents ignoring him, his mother becoming hostile when he showed weakness, edmund torturing him, etc etc etc, he kind of just stopped caring enough about himself to cry? if that makes sense? i think he's probably had tears come out of his eyes but the Act of crying has not happened in years probably.
🎨: What is their color scheme? Or at least colors you associate them with?
office beige, grey, white, but then also blood red and the dark brown of wet dirt.
🤲: Do they have any deep desires that they don't talk about and/or don't even realize they have? Do these desires conflict with their main goal at all?
elias' main goal is power and control. he's able to fold most of his weird sidequests into that main goal but things do get complicated when he brings auggie back into his life as older adults. the fact that elias is the one who chooses to rekindle their relationship indicates a desire around auggie that is deeper than his desires for power and control which at that point he has! it's not "love" in any traditional sense but auggie remains compelling to him i think because of their similarities in a lot of ways. i also think he likes a challenge and once he's beaten the main quests, so to speak (success in career, having a family, owning a nice home, blah blah blah) he finds himself unchallenged. i think he thinks he wants to win but really what he wants to do is play.

Uranus in the houses
Descriptions could be relevant for houses with the cusp in Aquarius or houses that contain Aquarius
1st house: This house is related to self-image, persona and outwardly projected identity. It represents the point of entrance into the world, the point of birth and emergence from the undifferentiated source as a singular entity. Uranus here points to someone that is not very happy with the denseness of physicality. The person is restless and fidgety, running on high voltage. It’s almost as if there’s more energy to the person than is able to integrate into their being. The person could be impulsive and might give off a vibe of wanting to “level up”, get out of the old and jump on board with the new. Coming into life might’ve been particularly jarring for the individual in one way or another. Perhaps the birth was abrupt and unexpected, fast and overwhelming. Since the 1sthouse represents beginnings, this person might find himself or herself thrown into new contexts and situations rapidly without much time to lean into things slowly. There’s something within that can’t stand how things are and must uproot and move on but it’s questionable if there ever was any rootedness to begin with. The energy of the person runs high, but it’s unpredictable and unreliable. It can prove difficult for this person to follow conventional norms, not necessarily because the motivation is lacking but because there’s an inexplicable urge to switch things up and change gear. Changing gear is a good metaphor for Uranus in general because once you’ve changed you’re on a completely different level of experience. This kind of person is in their own lane, going at their own pace in their own way. While “in the mode” one can accomplish a lot of things by virtue of being in a certain mind frame but once the mind frame changes the behavior and patterns of action are conducive to something else. The person is predictable to an extent, but there’s no way of knowing how long that “mode” will last. One is showing up in life from a certain standpoint but that standpoint might alter and then there’s nothing anyone can do about it – conforming is not something that is easily done for this type of individual. No amount of pushing or coercing from others will get the person out of their state. It’s a little bit like trying to reach an airplane by stretching one’s arms up and shouting. Once the person has “switched” there’s little connection to the previous context. It can be exciting to be around these individuals because they have the ability to switch the way they present themselves to the world by getting into completely different states of being on the flip of a dime. Needless to say it can also be unnerving. They come off as charming, a bit distant, quirky, somewhat irrational but stubbornly determined, completely unique and original. They can come off as detached from reality and fixed in their own perspectives. They are distinctly more open and easy to be oneself with than most.
2nd house: This house is related to value, safety and control on a tangible level. It has to do with one’s talents and one’s ability to generate wealth, to acquire money and possessions. Uranus in this house can make a person experience unpredictability when it comes to their income. It might be difficult for this person to create stability because of the inexplicable urge to break out of limiting structures regardless of the safety they provide. The person might find themselves in circumstances where it’s impossible to find a foothold in the world; there might be constant ambivalence around how things are going to work out financially and materially. This is the type of person that could have a lot going for them one month and then suddenly everything is switched up and there’s no longer any desire to produce or put innate abilities to use. The person probably has great potential for living a life that is on the edge, waiting for sudden bursts of energy or insight to kick in in order to be able to have it all under control again. The annoying thing is, that one can’t predict when the impulse comes or when the light bulb goes off. There’s no way of knowing how things are going to work out over time because Uranus is an extremely erratic and disruptive planet. There’s a risk of not being the least bit practical with this placement, seeing as Uranus operates on a higher plane of thought progression rather than personal security and stability in the material realm. The risk is to be too ahead of oneself, acting on premature convictions and causing unnecessary unease because one can’t stand to keep doing the same thing. “Isn’t money an outdated concept already?” Uranus in the 2nd might be too progressive in their thought patterns and too concerned with the possibility of a better system of doing things in order to align with conventional structure. These types may be the first one’s to subscribe to new ways of earning a living, more exciting and evolved methods of putting one’s skills to use. Doing things the same way for years, working in the same place, saving money or playing it safe might not be in the cards for this person. In the extreme case, this person might get rid of all their personal possessions only because they felt bored and deemed them outdated and boring. There could be perpetual dissatisfaction with the material situation since Uranus is about potential more then manifested reality. Once everything imagined is actualized, it no longer holds any value in the person’s mind. Uranus certainly keeps the person in constant pursuit of the future, but the future never comes, as we all know. Visualizing the perfect meal or getting an idea for the perfect way to decorate the living room might be very satisfying but when seen in the “flesh” it all seems very unappealing. It’s difficult to satisfy Uranus in the 2nd, but it’s a positive thing in the sense that it keeps the person reaching for the ultimate physical translation of the perfect thought version. One could be prone to be unintentionally careless with material objects, causing breakage easily and wearing things out because of the unrealistic expectations on the physical objects somehow survive despite themselves and their frailty.
3rd house: This house relates to communication, interaction with the environment, siblings, neighbors, as well as learning and early education. It’s basically the house of everyone and everything that one relates to mentally on a daily basis. Uranus makes for quite a highly charged mental sphere being placed here. There’s potentially a lot of changes and disruptions of the way one is interacting from day to day – it’s difficult to fit in or mold oneself to the pace and jargon of one’s close circle. The person might have a lot of unusual or unconventional methods of relating and is prone to bewilder and stir people up. It might be difficult to make friends, or rather, keep them, because of the unreliable pattern of relating. However, there’s the promise of being very exciting and surprising. Because Uranus is so characteristic of creative freedom this type of person might be a bit of a loner. One needs to be or do whatever one wants even if it means disrupting the status quo. The mold that conventional education forces on individuals might not work well with this kind of person. There needs to be more freedom and openness for originality and rapid changes of pace. This is the kind of person that is rebellious without trying to be, unable to relate in a consistent manner. One lacks boundaries for how to be in and conceive of the environment, which makes for potentially genius ways of operating and thinking. Albert Einstein had this placement (according to astrotheme.com) and his observation and ability to step out of the boundaries of conditioned thinking led him to great discoveries. Learning is done through lightning speed in bursts of insight with this placement. Lightning strikes from above and an idea has hatched that other people have a hard time understanding. These people might prefer being observers of people and the environment rather than actively engaging. They might relate to things with a cold and seemingly uncaring energy. This is because the mind is very far up in the sky of potentials and ideas, far removed from the fixed and permanent reality of the earth plane. Other people might feel as if they’re being related to as concepts rather than physically manifested beings. The very thing that makes these people revolutionary thinkers (and creative odd balls) will perhaps get them into difficulties when trying to adapt and fit into the environment they find themselves in. Since the 3rd house is about communication, these people might dress contrary or despite of the norm, use body language that is a bit eye-catching, and appear in a way that’s considered to be shocking and provocative. It’s not necessarily that they’re trying to be different; it’s just that they have very open minds and doesn’t see the purpose of performing within limits. If an idea and concept appeals, it’s not any less valid than the preexisting set of unspoken rules of conformity. Blending in is too boring and dull, it doesn’t allow for free thinking and free living.
4th house: This house relates to roots, family, home and the ancestral past. It’s the place at the bottom of the chart, hidden from view, constituting relational foundation, our emotional base, our heritage and sense of deep belonging. When Uranus is here, home is potentially something distant, something that is more conceptual and abstract rather than concrete. The sense of belonging isn’t very stable. Although it can be captured every now and then it is very ambivalent. Usually one’s sense of home is anywhere and everywhere or perhaps so far removed from reality that it doesn’t seem to exist at all. The people of one’s family and family past are experienced as individuals, not as inextricable marks on one’s soul. In a sense, the universe is these people’s home, they might feel unusually connected to the people of the world and deriving their sense of containment from larger movements and units rather than the family of origin. They’re children of the universe first and foremost – perhaps very much inclined to find people they really feel connected to and make them their base rather than focusing too much on the blood relatives. These people might change residence often, feeling too restless to settle anywhere or with anyone for too long. It’s likely that the people of one’s family were never truly present even they were in close proximity physically during the formative years. The family is never “had” in the real world, but ever present in the realm of potential. It can make for a dissatisfaction to never be able to be in the same space or feel any real emotional closeness to one’s family. Unpredictability and disruption might’ve been characteristic of the familial sphere. On a more positive note there could’ve been a space of high openness and room for unconventional and highly original streaks. Independence might be deeply rooted in this type of person who might be trying to find a connection to a deeper identity through going against the grain. Again, being a “rebel” is not necessarily intentionally pursued; it’s just a consequence of needing to be whatever one feels to constitute the path forward. Conforming is not an option, it’s deeply important to ride the wave of one’s own convictions and insights no matter how risky or unsettling it might be. “Breaking the rules” is not done out of aggression per se, it’s done because being a game changer establishes a connection with one’s soul, the archetypal father and hero myth. The 4th house is where legacies are born and carried out. Uranus is the legacy of the sky god, the creator of the universe, the maker of the blueprint, which makes these people extremely invested in progression and tuned in to the winds of change. They might be keen to generate large movements toward a cause, more in love with the expectancy than the actual manifestation of the results.
5th house: This house relates to entertainment, leisure activities, uninhibited self-expression, creativity, play, romance and children. Basically, it’s the domain of anything that is done purely to have fun and enjoy life. When Uranus is active in this sphere, there’s detachment and innovative genius in approach to play. The person might have unusual ways of finding pleasure and enjoyment that is quite different from the norm. It’s also done with an urge to construct something of novelty, something fresh and exciting that hasn’t been experienced before. Playing around with the potential of doing something or exploring possibilities mentally might be a real thrill for these types. Ideas make these people excited, especially if it’s advanced and revolutionary and can be applied universally. These people are creative thinkers and have fun when catching some wind and can elevate above the ground for a while in their minds. When they can get to a place that feels elevated in terms of concept and ideas they are having the time of their lives. There’s an urge of wanting to express something profound and precious in the mental realm – to arrive at a conceptual point of perfection. Having children could be a very appealing idea, but one would do well to remember that the idea is more appealing than the actuality – especially when it comes to Uranus. The person might take an intellectual approach to having kids, insistent on doing things as properly as possible according to modern scientific discoveries – or simply according to one’s own “elevated” objective perspective. One aims to be progressive, not only with one’s children but also in romantic pursuits. These people might have a slightly odd style of courting their love interests, certainly well thought-through but a bit special in the sense that it has an unexpected element to it. There might be a feeling of not being seen in the present “here-and-now” by these people, being treated as a component in their mental narrative of the ultimate romantic situation. In any case, Uranus in the 5th certainly takes the experience of “having fun” to the next level in terms of planning and visualizing something unique and new. One might shock a few people in the process, some may like it and some may recoil from the strangeness of it all. It is possible to completely revolutionize entertainment with this placement, coming up with something that people haven’t experienced before, going a little overboard or testing the waters of what is acceptable. If it’s paired with enough finesse and good -will, one might be warmly received as someone who can be perform something that wouldn’t seem to belong on this plane of existence. That being said, it that which is foreign and unfamiliar is not always welcomed with open arms. It’s scary – and people might want to censor one’s self-expression.
6th house: This house relates to work, employment, the practical daily activities that needs to be performed in order to sustain health and well-being over time. This house is where one manages the technicalities and details of living in order to make the expression of life more pure, clean and organized. Uranus here can’t stand routine, which might cause the individual to be unable to stick to any routine or prior commitment. There’s a deep urge to break free from that which has become tedious and unexciting and one has no way of knowing when that famous restlessness is going to kick in. The person might go a long time doing the same things, keeping the same job or sticking to a set routine but it’s never because one does so consciously, it just happens to be the “mode” one is in for the time being. It could switch at any time and the individual might find it impossible to keep doing things the same way. One has to follow the spark of inspiration because it literally goes off like lightning and won’t be denied. This might not be comfortable for the conscious self that might be adamant about sticking to a set plan and operating out of reason. There’s not much to do than to trust and hope for the best with this placement. What one should do on a given day is not set in stone, even if one attempts to be very structured and conscious of what is being done. There’s a stronger push-and-pull force that dictates the daily activities. Some days there’s a lot of energy to put into projects and chores and work and some days are void of electric charge all together. Some days one is on fire and on others there’s no energy left at all. It’s wise to take advantage of the spurs when they come and work with the erratic pattern of energetic bursts because they might prove very useful. On a more negative note, the high productivity that can be generated by Uranus in this house might lead to burn out because of the high voltage of the planet. Exhaustion might be a high risk and all the related physical symptoms that come with it, since the 6th house rules physical (and mental) health. There might be temporary ills and pains that come and go – sickness might come from “out of the blue” and then disappear without apparent reason. The body might require very specific and unexpected nourishment and one might do well to yield to the impulses and insights received in the name of health. Keeping up unconventional dietary habits could be a thing, experimentation and change in the way one manages necessary activities such as eating, sleeping and exercising would be typical of this placement. Employment might also be irregular and unconventional in some way – working odd shifts and hours, having no set schedule, having undefined and unspecified tasks, not being able to go by anyone else’s guidance etc. Uranus in the 6th would have a hard time working “for” someone because of the strong emphasis on freedom and space, it can only be done if there’s complete integrity in the subordinate position, in which case one is really not subordinate at all. There’s no such thing as obligation, there’s only modes of being, which are set and carried out. These people could be very concerned with health and daily life as an experiment, like observers studying phenomena in order to get a grip of all the intricacies and details in order to change and explore potential. The boldness of experimentation can of course get out of hand and turn destructive, so one ought to be careful.
7th house: This house relates to other people, cooperation, union and commitment. Usually that which is in the 7th in the chart is projected onto other people and sought after through engagement with “that which is other”. It’s through looking to other people that the planet is discovered in one’s own life. When Uranus is here, innovation, change and genius is encountered through cooperation and deals, whether it’s marriage, business or any other social declaration of entanglement. Uranus is discovered through the consideration of other people and their perspectives. This type of person has a very liberal and open attitude to other people and is focused on progress and change as to make things better for the sake of social well-being and harmony. It’s no wonder that successful politicians have this placement such as Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Angela Merkel (as found on astrotheme.com). One is inclined to be open and insightful in relationships, detached, rational and impersonal. Emotional bonds could be difficult to form and stability in relationships could be hard to come by for these people. Somehow, other people might get up and leave for no reason and there’s no way of being sure that anyone will stay, especially not out of dependence. This kind of person is going to have to be in partnerships that allows for a lot of freedom of expression, to the point of there not being any ties that bind at all. Uranus has such force and charge that nothing is going to go according to convention. Everything is going to be a bit odd and erratic in relationships, for better or for worse. Saying “I love you” is never a guarantee for life-long commitment because the next day Uranus might’ve switched gears and the person has fallen out of love – not by choice of course, but because the feeling is gone and the mental frame is completely different suddenly. These people crave excitement and looks for it in others. They would find people who strictly lives inside the “box” of convention to be extremely boring and painfully narrow minded. If cooperation and engagement with others doesn’t bring some kind of fresh and new perspective, if it doesn’t feel exhilarating and revolutionary, one might not be able to stick around for too long. In the case of Uranus being projected on other people and not realized as part of oneself, one might be shook by other’s unpredictable and jerky behavior. One might see potential, genius and originality in others but fail to recognize it in oneself. The great ideas and insights that come from engaging with others might add a lot to the person’s life, but one might also feel sad that these qualities are absent outside of a social context. There’s no need for this of course, because Uranus will always have to be accessed through the house that it’s placed in. On a more negative note, people with this placement might scorn and reject others for being so “up in the clouds”, inconsiderate and individualistic. “Other people are so unpredictable and unreliable” might be the narrative, when in reality one is failing to recognize the same tendencies within oneself.
8th house: This house relates to the deep end of experience, death of all kinds and transformative yet traumatic experiences. It’s related to everything that is hidden, the most private, intimate and vulnerable dimensions of life, which includes shared finances and sex as byproducts of strong emotional attachment. Uranus here makes for potentially shocking discoveries of grim, taboo or soul-shattering realities about oneself or other people. Death of loved ones, random inheritances or unforeseen debt could surface from seemingly out of nowhere in the strangest of ways. However, one might be able to deal with it in an objective and detached manner without getting too drenched and sunk by the whole experience. A lot of things related to the most intimate sphere could change very quickly without a moments notice. The most personal and deep dimensions of life are never stable for this person - but the transformation is not that severe since there’s a simultaneous distance and objectivity in one’s way of relating to death and crises. Uranus here is a bit of a contra-intuitive placement because there’s coolness in the face of the most soul-shattering experiences. It’s as if this person is looking at everything but is never completely enmeshed in the emotions surrounding it all. Objectivity and rationality is sought in order to keep things light and up in the mental realm of clarity. The transformations this person goes through are quick and life altering, at the speed of light everything is turned upside down. There’s openness and fascination for everything occult and one might have quite an alarming universal perspective in personal and deep emotional matters. Death is related to primarily as a concept – and so is intimacy. Tying oneself to another can be done, but the risk of doing so is understood from a higher perspective. It’s easy to get into states of paranoia, fearing that important attachment will be broken because there’s a push for change from below the surface. When Uranus is in the 8th, socially/societally divergent behavior might lurk in the basement of the psyche and carefully kept out of sight from the conscious self and the rest of the world. Certain impulses and urges that don’t fit into a preconceived framework might be suppressed because of early conditioning and fear of losing something or someone. These people have the capacity to get a broad and clear view of the darkest facets of life and humanity with revolutionary insights into the depths of the psyche. There’s excitement in probing deeper and uncovering more and more through personal experience but also from looking into other people’s lives, what they invest in, support and might hide from view in order to stay in control and protect their interests. These people look for the unexpected and can therefore spot things that others don’t because they’re not blinded by the veil of convention.
9th house: This house relates to knowledge that is gained through experience and exploration. It’s the house of higher learning and the intuitive search for truth. It’s the house of exploring themes and patterns through life; in essence it’s the house of studying the archetypal realm. With Uranus here, there are bound to be life-altering discoveries and insights into the themes of life, how energies express themselves through the collective and what they ultimately mean in the context of life as a whole. There might be a strong push to discover the meaning behind things in order to change it and work with it to elevate humanity in the process – especially as it relates to the mental framework of people. One might be inclined to share one’s progressive perspective and insight in order to educate people and have them get more out of life that way. Belief systems and innate knowing can be thrown out the window with this placement and replaced in a heartbeat. Other people might be confused as to what one really thinks because it depends on what gear one is driving on at the moment but it could change at any time. There’s restlessness and a strong urge to look to the future for answers and reject the “old”. Openness to experience the strangest things could be characteristic of this placement – if one is in the right “mode” or mind frame to go along with it. Stubbornness and rigidity when it comes to certain opinions and insights could be typical, although it might change very quickly and won’t stick over time. Something the person is thoroughly convinced of today might seem foolish to them tomorrow. There would be strong push to go out of one’s way to discover things, no matter how impractical and inconvenient the pursuit. There’s electricity and charge to the person’s mental pursuits, to one’s observation and efforts to extract value out of experience. Although there’s force and intensity to the process of learning about life as a whole, there’s also a peculiar detachment to the whole thing as if one isn’t part of what one is learning about. In contrast to someone with say, Moon in the 9th, Uranus in the 9th doesn’t experience the overwhelm that it means to learn and experience existence because one is the “observer” not a living and breathing merged component of the experience. With this placement one might have an unusual outlook of life and a very rare and interesting life philosophy. In fact, one would not really subscribe to any one outlook and might identify solely as the observer because one has switched perspective so many times that one knows that none are ultimately real. This doesn’t make the person discouraged, it only confirms that life is complex and multi-dimensional and that truth is nowhere to be found within the hologram of existence.
10th house: This house relates to public image, career and our personal contribution to society. It’s represents worldly purpose and outward persona. When Uranus is here, the person has a certain protruding electricity and charge – there’s a lot of energy put towards moving forward into the future in revolutionary ways. The person could have a reputation for being unpredictable, eccentric and a bit irrational as a byproduct of only seeing potential and not taking note of the limitations. The person exist “outside of the box” and is somewhat of a stranger in society, presenting far-reaching ideas that might be difficult for the average person to digest. There’s probably great openness to all kinds of people and experiences, but the person is extremely jerky and fidgety, so it’s impossible to really know when there’s going to be resistance and when there’s going to be acceptance. More than any other placement, Uranus in the 10th is an indicator of someone to catch people’s attention because it’s so potent and forceful in an electric way – it’s so unsettling and unconventional that people can’t help but turn their heads. “I’m not like everyone else” is the kind of message these people convey, consciously or unconsciously. These are extremely flighty individuals – they can be miles away, seemingly living in their own fantasy world, except that they know that everyone else is doing the same thing and they’re just not aware of it. These people are likely pinned as the odd person that has a lot of energy and unusual opinions and modes of being. They can switch gears or “roles” frequently, unable to be bound by any standardized career path and pushed to carve their own lives, take risks and live on mental impulse. They probably have no idea what they’re doing most of the time, or at least it seems like it when taking the most contra intuitive paths and moving into unpaved territory in terms of vocation and worldly achievement. Some force of the unconscious is seemingly moving these people, pushing them and compelling them to take mental leaps. The curious thing is, that once the leap is made, there’s absolute certainty because one is not merely hoping to level up, one has switched gears and is now operating on a completely different level of existence that is just as real as the previous one. These people are really the pioneers and revolutionaries of society because they radiate a collective urge for change; they shake things up, perhaps even negatively in some people’s eyes. They are symbolizing the urge to break free from old shackles and to reinvent the ways of society. People might feel uncomfortable and put up a lot of resistance to this kind of energy, because it’s disruptive and destabilizing. These people might have “weirdo” painted all over their forehead, being misunderstood and taken for extreme creative individualists with no anchoring in the norm – or they might become the “hook” for collective unconscious forces as the leader of a collective movement. In the case of the latter, the individual becomes a public image for the winds of change for better or for worse. The career might be paved with unforeseen events sudden blessings and curses, as well as unpredictable turns of the road.
11th house: This house relates to collective movements, common goals, friends and shared interests, societal change and progression. Uranus is very much at home in this house, seeing as it is the planet of large-scale revolution and change. When Uranus is here, there’s a strong awareness of the differences and commonalities of human beings and a capacity to switch between groups of people and finding a common ground with all of them. This is the type of person to jump in between social groups – not belonging to any one group but open enough to partake in all of them. The humanitarian and liberal perspective is protruding and very strong – there’s no one more open and willing to find friendship with people from all walks of life than Uranus in the 11th. It’s likely that one views the self to not belong to any specific group or class of society, but to them all simultaneously. All people are part of the human family and this is profoundly clear to this person – religion, political opinion, ethnicity, sexuality or any other factor comes second to the fact that everyone depends on one another. This person might have great ideas about how humanity should organize itself in order to benefit everyone without the blood thirsty uncivilized game that is “survival of the fittest”. Of course, primitiveness is not innately bad, but the person with Uranus here aims to view things objectively and find new ways to make everyone live in a way that benefits the whole rather than merely themselves. That being said, this person could have some unconventional ideas and highly creative solutions to certain collective issues. One might be associated with various groups of people and have great insight into their way of viewing things, their needs and convictions, their character traits and innate disposition. More than anything, this person is an observer of humanity, a person of mental understanding of the inner workings of social systems and groupings. Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry all have Uranus in this house (according to astrotheme.com), which makes sense considering that they are people who are supposed to have a connection to the people – they are essentially symbolic “agents of the divine”, supposedly anchored in Christian values of brotherhood, love, compassion and respect. They are involved in various social projects and aim to improve that quality of people’s lives through their work and presence. Whether it’s successful or impactful can be up for debate but it’s certainly their intention. People with this placement will likely seek to offer guidance or insight to the masses in some way, whether it’s through expressing certain values or bringing an objective perspective to the situation that equalizes the charge within people. This type of person would be phenomenal at reminding everyone of the commonalities and shared quirks, reminding people of their basic humanity and all the problems and gifts that come with it. By being radically open and honest, other people are allowed to show their weaknesses and strengths as they are without feeling the need to fit into a box.
12th house: This house relates to the collective unconscious, undifferentiated reality and the absence of separate self. It is a house that is related to universal feeling, the truth of everything being one. This house is essentially the enemy of individuality and at the same time is the birthing place for it. The 12th is dual and paradoxical, the place where “reality” and dreams blend. With Uranus here, the person would feel as if collective forces govern his or her life to a large extent. Changes in the collective unconscious affect these people personally more than others, for better or for worse. They live in a perpetual atmosphere of Uranus, which means that mental impulses and insights flood them daily of the most new and jarring kind. The inner world is potentially absurd and strange and completely different from the mundane everyday life. In fact, these people might not find that there’s anything mundane about life because everything is a fascinating phenomena to them. There can be hidden feeling of not being of this world, of feeling things more objectively and from a standpoint of universal reality. These can be very creative individuals, able to channel some genius ideas through letting go of the defenses put up by the ego. This could potentially be done through sleep, drugs or any other method of releasing resistance. Since this house is related to hidden enemies, it might be that certain original ideas are detrimental to the separate self and to other people in one’s surroundings. Because the 12thhouse is the realm of no boundaries, doing the most destructive and weird things might come easier to these people. There’s a disruptive quality to these people that shines through their subtle aura – they’re not trying to act out of the norm but little twitches and pushes make them do things that they ultimately can’t control. In a sense, these people are sponges for collective energies and pushes for change. Adolf Hitler had this placement (according to astrotheme.com), which expressed itself extremely destructively. Uranus in the 12th reaches for the heavens and might end up in hell because ecstasy is only felt through complete disregard for the preservation of the individual even though one might argue that it is in the individual’s best interest. In a sense Uranus in the 12th is a push for societal structure and progression that comes the closest to ecstatic bliss and one might take the most insane actions to get there. On a more positive note, this placement can express itself as a positive force for changing group consciousness, and communicating a vision of a civilized and peaceful society based on humanitarian values, mutual respect and love. Whether the ideas are realistic and applicable might be another question, however, the dream of redemption can inspire people and instill hope in the darkest of times.

More T thoughts
I think I'm getting into a re-enactment with T. Maybe.
I know we've made a lot of progress while working with her. Trying to hold onto that.
But now it feels like I want to take the next steps and it doesn't feel possible. I don't feel safe enough. I don't feel like I can count on her for this. I feel alone and like I need to fix it myself, when really I want permission to *not* control myself so much. To let the young feelings be the young feelings, permission to be irrational and harsh and whatever else.
But I don't think there will ever come a time and space for that. Not like this, not like I want there to be. I am pretty sure it will have to be done in the same way I've worked before, where I will be the witness of it and I will be the one caring. Because it would hurt other people and scare them away.
I need to count on myself again and I know I can do that. It feeds the avoidant side of me, but I know I can do it.
The mistake yesterday was trying to continue without fixing the connection with T. It makes me feel so misunderstood and alone and ashamed when we're not attuned to each other.
But I also really need to think about, what do I want from her?
Ideally I'd want guidance. I think that's an impossible wish. I want guidance and sensitivity and a calm, secure base that is comfortable setting boundaries. The things a small child needs, I suppose.
I probably want T to have more tact than she has. Less of her apparently getting sucked into my dissociation and losing her skills, losing her orientation.
I'm giving off vibes that she is not good enough, I know that. And unfortunately it is how I feel and I feel like a bad person for thinking that. She is obviously really talented, skilled, and experienced.
But right now I'm not getting what I need. And we need to make that better and I don't know how to. Maybe I need to see her less. Maybe I need to not work on the deeper issues. Maybe I need a huge reality-check.
Either way, I need to think of *something*. And I deeply despise that I am the one thinking about this now, keeping somewhat of an overview, while T gets completely lost. That freaking SUCKS. It makes me feel like the difficult stuff is all my fault, when I do this to people. I wish I could just be unreasonable and impulsive and someone would be patient and not triggered/hurt by that.

hosab spoilers?
i feel like being a lidia stan will soon be the same experience i have as being a nesta stan (aka people hating her when the male characters are arguably worse)
Honestly doubt it...
People don't hate Nesta for her character. People hate Nesta for what she did to Fey/re. In direct correlation to Fey/re and arguably Fey/sand. If you look at any anti argument for Nesta, it is the same argument over and over. That she didn't do enough to make up for two pages in the first book and maybe one line in the third. That she didn't apologize. That she didn't kiss butt. That arguably no one else did anything wrong. It was warranted based on her behavior to Fey/re, fey/sand, and the IC.
There are very few arguments about how she's just annoying, which is a valid claim tbh, because I find many characters annoying for whatever reason and you can. There are very few arguments about her personality that doesn't have to do with Fey/re. Probably because all those arguments fall short in the context of anyone else and because she's not that bad. She is mildly quippy and probably irritating and completely stubborn, but she's not that bad.
Lidia, is a complex character, yes. And people can shit on her, yes. But will it be the same as anti Nestas? Nah. Lidia is a double agent. Nesta is a girl in a hut that held onto her anger because that's how she coped with the world around her and she's being compared to Rh/ys or to Er/is or to TamTam when they have done so much worse at a level Nesta couldn't even create. Lidia as a double agent may have done enemy level stuff. Quite frankly she has very similar vibes as to Rhys in acotar where you're pretending to be someone awful but your intentions are good. Do I stan Lidia? 100%. But can I compare the amount of hate Nesta gets to the amount Lidia might get? Not even close.
Because the criticism might be valid. At least in the context of how SJM writes this specific theme and really only in the context of how SJM writes this theme, and rebellion and how problematic that might be. How she writes morally grey characters because she seems to flop on that at some point, where they aren't really grey just dipping their toe in the morally black and nothing they have done previously matters whatsoever because the intention is good. lmao.
Hatred for Nesta borders on irrational, because the fans in acotar are quite... spirited. I doubt the fans of cc will ever be this bad tbh.

I'm spreading positivity, my fellow Rogan fan :) Name five things you love about Rory, five things you love about Logan, and five things you love about them as a couple!
nice, nice, nice, nice, nice :) :) :)
here we go!
Rory
She’s forgiving. While Lorelai holds a grudge forever, Rory gives people chances over and over again. She sees the best in people and is willing to put her own needs and ego aside, to give people a second (and third and fourth and fifth) chance. It’s a rare and wonderful trait. And it’s a dominant one in Rory.
She’s not vain. She doesn’t do anything for admiration, awards, accolades, or praise. She studies and learns and develops to be the best person she can be and to create things the best things she can create.  Rory purely and genuinely wants to do her best.
She’s patient. Her anger fuse is insanely long. She can take on a ton of crazy around her and keep her cool. If I had a mother like Lorelai, I’d have lost my shit before I turned 10, because Lorelai is irrational and immature most of the time. But Rory is surrounded by crazy all the time (between Lorelai, SH, her grandparents) and she manages to keep her cool, get people to refocus, calm the situation, diffuse conflict, etc., without breaking a sweat. It’s awesome.
She is so selfless, which makes her a grade A+++ friend to everyone. I mean I just watched an episode where she woke up at 2 am to watch Lane’s band perform some gig. She has bad moments, but she puts an admirable amount of time, energy, attention, patience, everything into trying to make the people around her happy and fulfilled.
She’s passionate. When Rory gets excited about something (e.g., books or school or a story or a boy), she gives it her all. It’s so genuine. I think everyone in the GG world is charmed by this in Rory. And so am I.
I’ve always kinda felt that the reason why so many people dislike Rory and only focus on her bad qualities is because her good qualities are “quiet.” They’re not loud, in-your-face type of good qualities. Like…Lorelai speaks her mind. That’s a loud quality. Rory however walks around trying to create peace and harmony and make sure that everyone is happy. She’s agreeable. She’s a mediator. These aren’t fun or loud or obvious qualities. But they are so necessary for everyone to not be at war with each other. I feel like Rory carries the burden of making sure that everyone gets along and is happy, even to her own detriment. And I appreciate that because without people like her, the world would blow the fuck up.
Logan
He’s self aware. He says so many throwaway lines that suggest that he’s intensely aware (and doesn’t appreciate) that how people treat him is 100% because of his last name, his money, and his power, not him (Rory being the exception, and he loves her for it). He knows that there are limits to his preordained life. He knows his flaws and attributes as a person and a partner. That’s a damn rare trait.
He’s pretty much the only good communicator on the whole damn show. He’s not perfect, but overall he does express what is on his mind and invites Rory to do the same. He expresses his feelings and where he’s coming from. He always asks Rory what she’s feeling, thinking, and wanting. He asks for clarity in their relationship. Very good, Logan. Very.
He’s fun. In a (GG) world that equates “good” men with surly, angry, cantankerous ones, Logan stands as one of the few who is good-natured and fun loving. He tries to seep in all the joy in the world and share that joy, happiness, laughter, and good time with the people around him.
He’s generous. Logan will give anything (time, money, resources, energy, whatever) to please others. He’s always game for whatever anyone wants to do, and he is more than happy to help along the way. He’s very attentive to people’s needs and does all he can to meet them, it’s great.
He’s happy. While I do think there’s a well of sadness (thanks Mitchum) under the persona, Logan is overall a very positive, warm person. He’s just so smiley and seems to enjoy (or find joy) in any situation. He always shoots towards optimism and happiness. I just like people who try to see the best in the world and do their part in injecting it with good vibes.
I feel like a lot of people see Logan’s enthusiastic, fun loving, confident personality as hedonism, immaturity, and arrogance. And I completely get that. But I personally have zero patience for serious, sulking, angry men. Just about all men that I meet in real life, literature, TV, whatever, I can only tolerate when they’re happy, fun, and good natured. When it comes to men, I don’t care how much they feel on the inside—if all I experience being around them is anger, pessimism, and general negativity, then I want nothing to do with them. Logan is the opposite—he exudes joy and fun and excitement. I love him.
Logan/Rory
They really like each other. This is a big one for me. I love that they are both aware of each other’s flaws and attributes, and they get a kick out of them. They seem to really enjoy each other (and how different they are) and appreciate how one complements the other. To me it’s a relationship based on deep friendship and respect for who the other person is, and because of that they truly enjoy each other’s company. That, to me, is what long term relationships require: do you genuinely like and respect this other person? If yes, then you’ll enjoy being with them for the rest of your life. I think it’s a yes for Logan and Rory.
With that said, they do push each other to be their best selves. And importantly: they both respond well to the push. Logan brings Rory out of her shell, he helps her get out of her head and relax and have fun. His confidence helps her own confidence. And I think Rory needs to have people around her that push her this way (Lorelai and Paris are similar in that regard). In turn, Rory pushes Logan to focus and face his responsibilities. So Logan elevates Rory and Rory grounds Logan, which helps them both become their better selves. And neither ever struggles with that push—out of love or respect or deference, they both accept that the other is trying to help them and do whatever without struggle.
They are very supportive of each other. Neither Rory nor Logan ever tells the other what to do. It’s an equal partnership. One fully supports the other, no questions asked. Rory decided to steal a boat? Stupid, but let’s do it. Rory decided to write a book? Have a house to write it in! Logan decided that LDB events should take up his whole intellectual capacity and energy? Have fun, but pls don’t die. Logan decided to accept his destiny? I will support you until you explicitly state you don’t want to do it. That is their relationship. Fully supportive. Ride or die.
They (thanks to Logan) have some of the best communication of all the GG couples. I guess because Logan/Rory ran mostly parallel to Luke/Lorelai, I really saw the contrast in the couples’ communication and I enjoyed watching Logan coax Rory into sharing her thoughts and feelings with him. Logan likes clarity and communication, and Rory learned the value of that while with him (or, unlearn Lorelai’s bad example?). They ran into problems as soon as that broke down/Rory reverted to her old patterns. But when they were communicating openly and honestly, you could see just how solid their relationship is/could be.
They’ve never been bored together! I love that they both said this to each other in AYITL because it’s so true and I feel like this is such an important necessity for both of them. They are both easy going, open minded, adventurous, and have seriously well developed imaginations. I think both of them need a partner who cannot bore them. And the two of them will never, ever run out of things to do together. As long as they are together, the do and will always create, find, and have fun. To me it’s such a joy to watch two people in love who, without a doubt in my mind, could spend every single day of their lives together in absolute thrill with one another.
ANSWERING THIS BROUGHT ME SO MUCH JOY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!!!

aesthetic & headcanon — loveforclosure pt 2, the songs
summary: each song doesn’t sound cohesive together, and the melodies aren’t something you’d expect to be mashed into one album. but that’s the beauty of it all. each song has a different color scheme, but together tells the story about heartbreak where all the images blend into one storyline together. loveforclosure is a book, and each song is a chapter about grieving a broken heart. warnings: none wc: 1476
last night story
this one was a partial self insert, only because i love sobangcha’s original version. but also, it does make sense
last night story is song lyrically where it talks about love in an irrational sense — childish even. the lines ‘last night, i hated you.’ it breaches a kind of childhood like jealousy, and that part comes with the irrationality of love? you fall in love, see the person you like holding hands with someone else, and suddenly it starts spilling in, the green eyed monster.
minjung loves this song too because i say so, and as a result she wanted to re-vamp it into a modern times jam. probably the most high paced song of the album but she wants it to start off with a bang
it’s a fuck it whatever type deal because she’ll allow herself to be petty about heartbreak if she can
jam jam
jam jam is more sultry? sounding, and i suppose it’s not the stage of grief, but the points that lead up to heartbreak.
this one is more a ‘i know we’re bad for each other but fuck it, i want it anyways.’ and hence where the sultry ties come in. it’s an impending look of a bad ending, but in the moment — you don’t really think logically. instead, you want it anyways knowing it might be the one thing that turns you over to self-ruination in the end
aka you don’t want to be logical in this instance, you want to give in. play to it, and hold on for as long as you want
the visitor
coming right after jam jam, that’s where you can’t ignore logic. you have to fall into face with the consequences and aftermath of impending whatever it is that comes forth.
in her case, it’s the end of a relationship — this part would be the ‘sad’ part of grieving, and pining for someone no longer in your life. the point of the song is the questions where it goes ‘why do i still love you? why do i still sing about you?’ it’s a rhetorical question spoken because once it’s said, it’s almost cathartic to get out.
when in reality, she knows the answer why. knows why she sings, and would be a liar to admit that this is one ending that she wouldn’t have seen coming. the moodiness of the miminalist guitar draws itself to the drags of her voice, and in reality, it’s her song of being pathetic.
troll
troll has a different approach where it takes a peek upward. it’s childlike in the whimiscal melodies, reminding you of the early carnival / carosels of fair. how it goes around and around in a circle, despite not wanting to get off knowing where you start is where you end
after the ‘breakup’ and ‘sad’ stage of a breakup, minjung falls back into it. falls back into being in love, and jumping onto the illogical train of thought of meeting him again because it’s out of her control, and she just doesn’t want it to end
it’s another sliver of pathetic nature, falling back into the same patterns because you’re just too stubborn to let go.
empty cup
empty cup highlights now her 권태기 (idk the translation for this in english), but basically where she feels like she’s on the empty ledge, hanging wanting it to end. as a result, she writes this in denial, telling a lover that she’s no longer interested. doesn’t care for another go, and just wants it to all end
‘sick and tired of your love’ and that’s when you know the wooziness of going around in circles comes to a halt because she jumps off mid-way, free-falling without a second thought. she’ll play the bad guy because to her, this a dead horse that keeps getting beated upon, and she doesn’t want anything more than to crawl back and wallow in the entire joyride of the relationship
the shower
self reflection at it’s finest. when she’s forced to look at the relationship for what is worth, and have bouts of nostalgia spill in at the seams
lots of imagery about light, airy, nature-based images because that’s how she sees the relationship. lovely, and she never expected it to end the way it did. perhaps, this would be the “numb / guilt” stage of heartbreak, where you have empty thoughts, just staring blankly to figure out, that was the one piece of your life that now you’ve closed in upon and the worst part is, you knew it would end like this
a beautiful nightmare? and nothing she can get back
you clouds rain
this one is a depressing song for her to sing, especially because it outlines how she yearns to go back to the past — highlights instances of how, lingering outside hoping he’ll come back, etc.
but it’s a mistake told, about how she left the relationship despite knowing her whole heart still clings onto that one person. the rain, and it drowns her in melancholy — hence, the song has a very melancholic vibe.
it’s about pining to go back, hoping that instance in life would never end. raw and open, desperately craving what was once right in front of her
gone
gone is her anger stage, of course none of these songs are actually in the correct ‘stages of grief’ but they all are parts of it
anyways, this one plays the simple tune on her electric guitar and holds onto a lot of anger and resentment in her voice. it’s half jealousy knowing he’s moved on, but also anger that he moved on so fast while she remained in her own house of sadness
nearly crying here when she songs, singing a song about how she’s the only one clinging on to a lost relationship being the one-sided love again, while the other person’s gone and how miserable she feels due to being hurt from the one source of that monstrous love in her life.
it’s a lot of hurt / pain in her voice, and the only song completely in english of this track listing.
dlwlrma
now we’re at the upward turn. but a drastic one — kind of like how in the movies, you see the main character pine and cry in bed for weeks only to get up one morning and say ‘i’m done! i’m happy again!’ it’s half a lie, but she keeps to it anyways
instead, she gives herself the excuse that maybe she was born in another planet. no longer part of everyone. she’s ‘different’ and that leads her to experience things differently than he does, and tends to look at their relationship with more happier memories than the pain he caused her. thankful to love that way, knowing that in that moment they’d been mostly filled with love and her heart was close to bursting by that time.
bye bye my blue
continuing on the upward scale, this one is more woeful than the prior. aka more in tune with reality of happiness. slowly learning to be happy again
she talks about having some slight bitter resentment about how he takes things, aka a grass is better on the other side, but still jealous of how he’s able to handle things. and how she really was in love at that point despite all of it
she learns to grapple with love again, and tells herself that it was enough that she was able to hold him in such high regard — better to love than not love at all etc.
ending scene
as the title suggests, it’s an ending scene
now we’re more in the sadder part of acceptance and moving on, but this is probably where she’s the most honest? she tells herself that in any situation of a conversation with him, it’s sadder to cling on to things rather than let them go entirely
aka she learns how to “let go”
tells herself that it was enough, and that dragging it on any further would be the saddest thing to their story.
through the night
finally, this is full-on acceptance. aka a place to move on and turn anew
it’s not a place where she will fully get over it, because i think minjung is aware she’ll never really get over it
but she really doesn’t want to resent him anymore, or hate him / neglect their memories for anything negative than what they truly were. they were pieces of her happiness she got, and hence why she keeps them so close
instead, she writes him a final note kind of like a dear john letter. highlighting the small memories of their past, and how lucky she was to meet him and how she’ll always miss him deep down because he’s going to be her love she won’t forget

If Samson and Delilah Lived Happily Ever After (Sashea) - Melon
A/N: Sasha is still unprepared but maybe now Shea is too. Slam poets AU part 2, this time they might actually speak to each other. This is a little more heavy on Sasha’s friendships than the last chapter. If you wanna squeal with me about gay shit, come talk to me at my fic blog @artificialmelon !
Part One
Why.
Why did she have to include a winky face.
Sasha asks herself this as she paces around her tiny studio apartment at two PM on Sunday, hands firmly planted on her waist in worry. It makes no sense. Why would she do such a completely stupid thing? Couldn’t she just write a note, like a normal person? Sasha is reasonably sure that winky face would be the reason Shea won’t be interested in her. She knows it. Shea wouldn’t think of the winky face as the dealbreaker, but she’d think that Sasha’s vibe would be a little off-putting, a little too much. Miniscule mistakes in the early stages can ruin a budding relationship, something Sasha knows well but chose to ignore when she added that fucking winky face.
Not that Sasha is planning their relationship, but it might lead somewhere, someday, and she doesn’t want her overuse of flirtatious punctuation to be the death of them. The winky face was just too bold, especially so soon.
“Oh my god, Sasha, shut up!”
Sasha looks up from her pacing to meet the eyes of an annoyed Peppermint. She’d barely realized how long-winded she’d become in her rant until Peppermint interjected. Rambling on about a single emoji does seem absurd, if Sasha thought about it objectively, but her heart just wouldn’t slow down.
on computer now so i’ll be able to respond faster
“I know, Pep, I know. It’s just- you didn’t see her. You don’t know.” Sasha says, falling back onto her beaten up sofa and pulling Vanya from his place on the floor onto her lap. She ignores his noise of complaint as she settles him on top of her, in desperate need of his support.
“No, I didn’t see Miss ‘God In Heels’, but I do know you. Any girl would be lucky to have you, and if she’s scared off by something tiny like this, she’s not the one,” Peppermint has a calming presence; she’s just one of those people that give the impression of being unbelievably kind. It drew Sasha to her initially, and annoys her now. “It’ll be fine, even if all the things you’re thinking do come true.”
Sasha groans, smushing her face into Vanya’s neck, as though all her problems would disappear if she couldn’t see them. Vanya accepts his fate as a comfort pillow at this point, not making any additional complaints. She’s quiet for a moment, silently accepting the fact that she’s being irrational.
“I hate it when you’re right.”
———-
The next week passes at a tortuous pace. Time stops for hours at a time, progress moving far too slowly for Sasha’s tastes. Every day, she goes to work, sells picture books to overexcited children and 50 Shades to blushing suburban moms. The bookstore is stagnant, uncaring and unchanging, but the feeling seems to follow Sasha throughout the day, regardless of whether she’s in the store or not. She just happens to feel it most deeply while she’s working, as she reads through books of poetry and is reminded of Shea. The books in the store are much more flowery than Shea’s work. Sasha decides Shea probably wouldn’t like them; coincidentally, Sasha doesn’t like them much either.
The world moves just a little bit faster as she closes up shop on Saturday night. The sign painted with the shop’s name sways gently in the wind.
The cold city air hits Sasha the moment she steps outside the comfort of her tiny corner of New York. The wind forces a blush onto her face, lungs protesting the assault. She pulls her coat tightly around her body, setting off quickly.
Quickly.
The week was like molasses, clinging to her skin until now, her escape. Sasha is left with only the cold, the sound of her feet hitting the sidewalk, and the excitement of knowing she would return to the bar in a matter of hours.
She, Aja, and Peppermint plan to meet at Sasha’s apartment two hours before the show, to paint their faces and plan outfits, like Sasha hasn’t had hers worked out for days. At the bar, Sasha’s friends would, as Peppermint put it, “Get to know Shea, maybe make Sasha regret all of her life choices.” Sasha’s actually looking forward to a fun night out with her friends, sweetened with the possibility of seeing Shea again.
As soon as she enters her apartment, Sasha knows she’s made a huge mistake. The electric heater and the speakers are both at maximum capacity, the way Aja likes it, and her lamps have been replaced by what appears to be every candle in the city, the way Peppermint likes it. The two both seem well on their way to tipsy, glasses of red wine hanging from their fingertips as they cackle about something or other - likely Sasha. Her spare key is set carefully on the side table, presumably by Peppermint, and a pair of heels Sasha recognizes as Aja’s are hanging precariously from Sasha’s coat hang.
“Hey Aja, why didn’t you put your heels on the fucking shoe rack like a halfway decent person?” Sasha asks fondly. Aja is an asshole, but Sasha finds herself liking her more and more.
“Because why? Because I wanted to,” Aja says with a flourish of her wine glass, almost spilling but narrowly avoiding a mess and a lecture. Sasha sets her bag next to Aja’s heels on the hang, turning on the lights in the same minute. Aja and Peppermint yell Sasha’s name in tandem, groaning because of the sudden light.
Sasha smiles at the continued protests of her friends. Being nine years younger than Peppermint, she never expected to end up as the mom friend. Wine changes people.
“Come on, we’ve gotta get ready.”
Begrudgingly, Peppermint leads Aja from the couch to the bathroom to get ready. Aja models for them in her outfit, posing in various increasingly sexual ways. Peppermint pushes Sasha into her bedroom to get her own clothes on.
Standing alone in the relatively cold bedroom, Sasha suddenly feels disconnected from the warmth just in the next room. She’s more grounded, taking these fleeting moments alone to touch base with herself, keep from being swept up in the glory of the night. She squeezes into her tight black pencil skirt and red heels, meeting her own eyes in the full length mirror. Tonight would be a good night. She might even talk to Shea tonight.
When Sasha returns, Pep is perched on her sink, finishing her eyes, and Aja is seated on the floor under her. Both women face her, and Sasha felt uncomfortable for a second as they appraised her, but relaxed when Pep grinned.
“I like it…but you could do with a little more skin,” Peppermint jokes, turning back to the mirror. Aja nods her agreement, but says Sasha should only fuck with her own personal style and Peppermint just loves showing off her cleavage too much. “Why shouldn’t I? I paid enough for them,” laughs Peppermint, adding a generous amount of highlighter to her chest in rebellion.
“We don’t all have those,” Aja replies, poking Peppermint’s breasts.
The rest of the getting-ready passes in a blur of laughter, music, and alcohol. Sasha is talked into switching her turtleneck for a translucent mesh shirt and pasties, something she knows she’ll regret. Before Sasha knows it, she’s walking down the sidewalk, arms linked with her favorite people, still giddy with the joy of new and old friends.
They roll into the bar mere minutes before the show starts, settling themselves in a small booth with a clear line of vision to the stage. A new host opens the show, introducing the first poet, someone Sasha doesn’t recognize but who’s clearly been here before. Lina or something. She does a piece on paranoia that Sasha likes. Everyone who stood on that stage is talented, in wildly different ways. Tina, or whatever her name is, embodies her poetry, conveying it with ease, pure articulation of her raw soul. Farrah’s is filled with flowers and sweet romance, a touch of bite when needed. Another act, named Valentina, charmed the audience with her beauty and ambition.
Until it’s Shea’s turn.
There is nothing like Shea Couleé. Every performer has talent, but in Sasha’s eyes, Shea is the definition of talent. The rest of the bar doesn’t move with Shea like Sasha does, but everyone feels her gravitational pull. Every eye stays on her as she begins to speak.
“Bare bones.
Raw. A warrior’s spirit in tattered clothes.
That is my word. my work.
I am bare bones. The flesh ripped away, torn from totality, And yet. Violence creates divinity. Exposed rib turns ivory.
Bone is more permanent, more useful than flesh.
Bone, when shattered and crushed, still has purpose.
The same cannot be said for the pliance of meat.
My bones Are worth something.
I am worth something.”
It’s short, but Shea’s always are. It’s how they’re intended to be. A piece so short should be lacking something, missing a stanza on its way to completion, but it doesn’t need the filler words. Surplus doesn’t belong in Shea Couleé’s world unless it’s in cash or casual conversation.
Sasha couldn’t look away, couldn’t even try to, which seems to be a recurring theme. She knows Peppermint and Aja will tease her for it later, but no amount of future embarrassment could convince Sasha to not watch Shea, even after her performance ended, even after it’s no longer socially acceptable for Sasha to follow Shea with her gaze. Nothing matters but getting as much of Shea as possible.
Shea locks eyes with Sasha as she walks off the stage, an unspoken promise between them. Sasha would stay this time, wait for Shea after the stage lights shut off and the patrons began filing out.
Shea would find her, and Sasha would let her.
The rest of the show means nothing. Peppermint’s laugh of earth to Sasha, Aja’s eyeroll pass over Sasha like water. She barely registers the two of them loudly discussing her, or their comedic attempts at catching her attention. Eventually, they give up with a sigh and something about how she’s too far gone at this point. Sasha almost feels the need to interject, but then Shea comes out for her second poem and it slips her mind.
“I would like to say, just before I start, that this is an invitation, not a command. Don’t go thinking I’m trying to be weird here,” Shea says. She doesn’t seem the type to preface herself with a warning of any kind. Shea wears hesitancy like last year’s winter coat, dated and ill-fitting, forgotten until somehow it made its way onto her body as a last resort. Sasha knows she’s about to do something incredibly dangerous.
“She walked in here red lips and glory, wide rim glasses, margarita salt lining her throat, fingers dipped in whisky.
She intoxicates me.
She walked in here, made me want that second sip, left before I could taste it.
I have a theory that you belong on my tongue.
Hopefully, you agree.”
Sasha feels herself melt, trying and failing to keep from showing it. She’s giving into this person she’s never spoken to, who’s never heard her say a single word. Objectively, they mean nothing to each other, and in practice that’s true. They could both walk away right now, and their lives would barely change.
They wouldn’t.
Shea breaks eye contact first, stepping off the stage to let the host close out the show. Sasha turns to her friends, wild eyed.
“You guys have to go. Please. Or at least, like, stand by the bar and do not engage,” Sasha says, pleading with the last traces of humanity she knows are buried in her friends.
“What?” Peppermint smiles in disbelief, her tongue stud catching the dim lighting. Both she and Aja are staring at Sasha as though she’s said she’ll be moving to Alaska tomorrow morning.
“She’s going to come over here to talk to me, and I know you. Both of you. So I’m giving you a free pass to say anything you want, mercilessly dig into me for my middle school level crush on a woman I barely know, just as long as you do it when she’s not around. Now go. Go!” Sasha ushers her friends out of the booth, cringing at their wide smiles. Aja leaves with a crack about safe sex being good sex, and Peppermint blows Sasha a kiss as the two head towards the bar.
Sasha positions herself in the booth to look as nonchalant as possible, pulling out her phone to casually scroll through social media. She’s being chill. She’s a chill person, being chill.
That plan flies out the window the moment she sees Shea. Up close, she should be more godly. The confidence, the curve of her lips and cut of her jaw, they should all add up to an untouchable person. But instead, Shea is just a little more human than the rest of society. She is the earth, the forest, and every sea. Great, vast, and completely within Sasha’s grasp.
“Hi,” Shea says.
“Hi,” Sasha replies.
“I’m Shea,” she slides into the booth, across from Sasha.
“I know. I’m Sasha.”
“I know.”
They look at each other in silence for a long minute, finding certainty in their natural chemistry across ten words. Shea finds herself saying, “Can we skip this part?”
She’s glad she said it when Sasha smiles, nodding enthusiastically, and says, “Yes please,” as though it’s the most obvious thing in the world, to skip the barest of introductions when they’ve never spoken before. The conversation pauses, spaces between them overflowing with certainty.
“Do you believe in language as a byproduct of thought, or thought as a bastard child of language?” Sasha says, stumbling over her own forwardness. Sasha watched Shea’s eyebrows shoot up, surprise accentuating her perfect features. To her credit, she recovers quickly, despite being faced with the unexpected.
“Obviously, thought came first. Without the ability to think, we would have no ability to speak. Just because speech couldn’t, like, be expressed before thought, doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. It was still there, just not articulated,” Shea responds. Sasha smiles, properly, displaying her teeth. She takes a sip of her drink.
“But was thought of those days even thought, relative to what we now know thought to be? Can we even consider the ideas that birthed language real thought?” Sasha says, and clearly she’s had this discussion before. Her voice has a playful edge, she’s all smiles and tilted head; it’s not fair at all, but Shea gets the sense that her answer doesn’t really matter, just that she can come up with one on the spot, and support it. She’s being tested. Teasingly, but undeniably.
“Was language even language? Can we consider ancient language true speech, relative to what we now know it to be? That’s circular, and the fact remains that the ancient concept of thought led to the ancient concept of language. If a caveman thinks, rock, get me rock, he’s still thinking, and that thought leads to him developing the words to tell someone to get him his fuckin’ rock,”
Shea knows she’s got Sasha pinned when Sasha’s only response is, “But why is the caveperson in your story a man?”
Sasha bursts into laughter, Shea soon following. The conversation is ridiculous in the first place. It’s entirely meaningless, but it gives them a sense of who the other person is. Shea is engrossed in their argument over her use of the gendered caveman when suddenly, Sasha is being pulled away from her.
Shea looks up to see a woman dragging Sasha from their booth, smiling brightly at Shea. She’s beautiful, the kind of vibrant that makes her look eternal in a transient world, and Shea wants to like her. If only she didn’t have Sasha by the wrist.
“Sorry, we’ve gotta go, it’s past her bedtime,” the woman jokes, Sasha shooting her a death glare before turning back to Shea. She gets close, leaning into Shea to murmur her goodbye. Shea holds the air in her lungs as Sasha enters her space, believing for a moment Sasha is about to kiss her.
“I agree with you, by the way. Clearly thought came first,” Sasha whispers in her ear, all traces of shyness erased in the first five minutes of their conversation. By the time Shea’s brain is working enough to realize what she is referring to, Sasha’s already being pushed out the door by her friends.
Shea steps out of the booth with purpose, running out into the street after Sasha. In the cold of night, her mind clears slightly, but not enough to inhibit her. The women turn to face her, but Shea only notices Sasha. She needs to do this.
Stepping forward, Shea moves to cup Sasha’s face, but acts too slowly. Sasha reaches her first, wraps her arms around Shea’s neck, pulling her down to meet Sasha’s lips. Sasha’s tenacity is unexpected, but then again, everything about her is.
The kiss isn’t slow and soft, the way first kisses are meant to start. Sasha meets Shea’s lips with an unstoppable force, like Shea is the immovable object she’s been searching for her whole life. Their meeting is explosive. Shea lets Sasha bite her lip, opens her mouth willingly when she feels Sasha’s tongue tracing the same path. She vaguely recognizes the sound of Sasha’s friends whistling and catcalling them, but the part of her that cares is shut down by the feeling of Sasha’s tongue meeting hers.
Shea’s hands are reaching for Sasha’s hair, tangling in the messy blonde curls. Sasha pulls her closer, presses their bodies together, lets her hands drop from Shea’s neck to her waist. The kiss is good. Really good. Recreate a million times over the course of the next fifty years kind of good. Shea pushes that thought to the back of her head.
It’s over too soon, but it must’ve lasted a solid minute. Sasha’s friend’s yells died out about fifteen seconds in, and by the time they part, the two are standing awkwardly instead of smiling. The one Shea doesn’t know mouths what the fuck to Aja. Shea and Sasha stand, foreheads touching, sharing each other’s air for long, stretching moments, before they’re interrupted.
“So as cute as it is to watch you two make out, let’s not do that now,” Aja says, teasingly, but with a degree of truth to her voice. The other woman nods, looking as though she wants to say something, but holding back. Sasha pulls away, a regretful smile on her lips.
“I’ll see you next week,” she whispers, though there’s no illusion of privacy for either of them.
Shea watches her leave once more, afraid that the moment she looks away, Sasha will be gone. Soon enough, Sasha’s gone anyways, around a corner and out of sight. Shea knows she never wants to experience Sasha leaving ever again. She also knows that, inevitably, she will.
At least, for tonight, she’s got the fresh memory of Sasha’s mouth on hers, the feel of Sasha pressed against her. That’s enough for her. For now.

BlackBerry Priv audit: Android settles the OS, however the equipment can't contend $700 for an awful console, poor camera, risky form quality, and old programming? No thanks."
BlackBerry is still around?"
That is the most widely recognized response I get when I indicate individuals the "Priv," BlackBerry's first Android telephone. It's difficult to trust the first iPhone turned out over eight years back, yet just now would we say BlackBerry has something that may contend in the cutting edge cell phone time.
BlackBerry limped along for a considerable length of time with the old-school BlackBerry OS, and the organization didn't turn out with a patched up cell phone stage until the 2013 arrival of BlackBerry 10. By then BlackBerry had officially lost the biological community war, however, and another stage from a solitary producer had no way of picking up a solid footing in the application advertise. Procedure Analytics as of late positioned BB10 fifth in overall piece of the overall industry behind Android, iOS, Windows, and even Samsung's Tizen—ouch. It's no big surprise individuals are shocked to hear that BlackBerry still exists.
With the Priv, the organization at long last joins the versatile working framework duopoly by bouncing into bed with the main major application biological community accessible to outsiders: Android. The Priv runs an old adaptation of Android: 5.1.1 Lollipop, the first of numerous mistake the Priv will toss our direction. Being a BlackBerry, the Priv obviously has an equipment console, however the console isn't any great. It's so level and minor that it's horrendous to sort on; we incredibly favored the stuffed in programming console. Still, the greatest dissatisfaction is the value: an astounding $700. It's not an unfathomable total for a cell phone, however assemble quality issues and a not insignificant rundown of bargains simply aren't worth $700.
BlackBerry's absence of significant worth bodes well with regards to the organization. Similarly as it attempted to contend with the cell phone application upheaval of the previous eight years, it's presently attempting to rival the superb, minimal effort Android gadgets out there. The Priv is valued like an Android leader from quite a while back, and it most likely could have contended in the time of janky, plastic leads like the Galaxy S4 or 5. Today, however, $700 for this level of value simply doesn't cut it. Indeed, even with a "cutting edge" OS, BlackBerry still feels like it's a couple of years behind the opposition.
Outline and Build Quality
The Priv won't not run Marshmallow, but rather it beyond any doubt feels like it's made out of one. Our essential grievance is the rubbery plastic back. BlackBerry isn't utilizing a strong, hard plastic here; it's more similar to a skin that was extended over a supporting internal shell. It's squishy and misshapes when you press on it, which you can find in the above picture. This wouldn't be a colossal arrangement for a deal gadget, however it's unsatisfactory for a $700 telephone. The elastic skin is at any rate exceptionally grippy, with a carbon fiber-like weave example in it. It looks sufficiently pleasant.
The show bends down on the left and right side like a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Like that telephone, the bend is a somewhat pointless trick, and it appears to be strange on a business telephone like the Priv. The show is a plastic AMOLED show, helping us a great deal to remember what we've seen from the LG G Flex. For a few hues, the show puts out an uneven shading and winds up looking filthy or grainy. It's not as awful as the G Flex, but rather it's as yet observable.
While the show curve isn't as extraordinary as the S6 Edge, it does even now twist the side of applications. BlackBerry doesn't attempt to make utilization of the bended show much—there's a menu of application alternate routes you can haul out from the side of the show, and the bend indicates charging data while the screen is "off."
The catches are plastic with a glossy false chrome complete, and the genuine astonishment is that there are four catches: Power, volume up, volume down, and a catch BlackBerry calls "quiet." Pressing the quiet switch when the telephone is effectively making clamor will quiet the gadget, however that is the main situation when the catch will accomplish something. A "preemptive" quiet with the quiet catch isn't conceivable. Judgment skills would manage that squeezing the quiet catch anytime would set the telephone volume to noiseless, yet as a general rule, the quiet catch won't do anything unless commotion is really leaving the telephone. Squeeze it at whatever other point and the volume slider will show up on the screen, yet nothing will really happen. It's irrational to the point that it appears to be broken.
A speaker flame broil keeps running along the whole base "jaw" on the telephone, however it's generally stylish. A solitary front-confronting speaker is on the left side, directly beneath the on-screen back catch. We have no grumblings about the speaker—it's very noisy. Along the base of the telephone there's an earphone jack and a MicroUSB 2.0 port, and on the top is a SIM and—an undeniably uncommon thing on Android telephones—a MicroSD slot. The slide-out console feels like the Priv's whole purpose behind existing, however it simply isn't any great. BlackBerry's equipment keys may have had a major advantage over 3.5-inch gadgets, yet today the keys are tiny contrasted with the product console on any 5-inch telephone. The modest keys make it simple to press the wrong catch, and writing turns into a confined, awkward ordeal.
To fit the keys under the screen, BlackBerry made them totally level. You won't locate the decent raised edges here like on an exemplary BlackBerry console. Two edges of each key will be inclined to get a comparable look however not a similar vibe. The keys are illuminated and have a decent snap activity, however.
The keys sit at the base of a dish framed by the tall, front-confronting speaker flame broil and the base edge of the sliding screen. The keys are sufficiently far from the speaker that it doesn't bring about an issue, however it's anything but difficult to have your fingers collide with the base edge of the show when utilizing the top line of the console. This is just a four-push console, recall, so access to the top QWERTY line is basic.
We didn't care for BlackBerry's sliding instrument, either. We'd need the sliding component on a $700 telephone to skim and be as smooth as spread, however the Priv has a scratchy, grating filled slider. You can hear plastic rub against plastic when you open or close the gadget. Once more, there isn't space for these sorts of bargains on such a costly telephone. Springs do bolt the gadget open or shut, in any event.
Whenever open, the Priv turns out to be about the stature of a seven-inch tablet. Just the screen of the Priv slides up to uncover the console, leaving a large portion of the weight stationary and in your grasp, however it can at present be beat overwhelming, contingent upon your hold.
The keys are really touch-empowered, as well, permitting you to do swipe signals over the console. While not writing, the swiping on the console for the most part acts simply like swiping on the screen. On the home screen, swiping left or appropriate over the console will change screens, and in the program, swiping will look up, down, left, or right. While writing, swiping ideal to-left will erase the whole past word. Our most loved usefulness kicks in when you tap on the content information box to raise the draggable content cursor—swiping the console will move the cursor through the content, much the same as squeezing left or appropriate on a console. Hold the move key and you can even highlight content! This is significantly more exact than dragging with a finger, which more often than not conceals the content.
Strangely, if the console is open and the telephone nods off, pushing on the console won't wake it up. This bodes well on a BlackBerry with uncovered keys, yet not on the Priv, where any "pocket presses" will be ensured by the shut telephone.
Autocorrect still deals with the equipment console, and the standard line of three proposed words appears on the base of the screen. The issue is, the extremely base of the screen is as yet held for the on-screen route catches, so from base to top, there's the equipment console, route keys, and console recommendations. Having three catches, each of which will whisk you away to some other assignment, wedged in the middle of your console and writing proposals is... not as much as perfect.
The autocorrect bar really considers a product console, which makes the ordinary Android back catch change from directing left toward indicating down, as though there were a full console open. So with the console open, the main push on the back catch will just close the modest autocorrect bar, which appears to be somewhat senseless. You need to press back a moment time in the event that you really need to backpedal.
Keep in mind, this is an equipment console, so the changing status of the "move" and "alt" keys can't be spoken to by the console catches. The old-school approach to demonstrate this was to put a triangle on top of the writing cursor for alt and a triangle on the base for move. For reasons unknown BlackBerry just actualized half of this—move puts a little triangle on the cursor like you would expect, yet alt does not. The main sign you've squeezed the alt key is as far as possible up at the highest point of the screen in the status bar. Remember the Priv is around seven inches tall when it's open, so the status bar is likely out of your field of vision while writing.
There's additionally a "sym" key, which will open an all out screen console of images. Alongside the equipment console, route bar, and auto-rectify bar, this works out to nine lines of catches.
BlackBerry has additionally incorporated a custom programming console that works somewhat like the BB10 console and blends the auto-remedy proposals around in the vertical edges in the keys. So subsequent to writing "key," a recommendation for "console" will show up over the "b" catch. Swiping up on the "b" key will choose the recommendation, put "console" in the content field, and it's on to the following word. With the recommendations hopping all around the console as we write (and being somewhat secured by our fingers), it was difficult to ever distinguish and swipe on an amendment speedier than simply completing the word.
