What do you think travis do after collage? And Connor? Will they go back to camp?
I havent read the trials of apollo, so I dont have clue if something was mention on it.
I was thinking that people always say that Will would be a doctor (kind of a surgeon) but I was being delulu and I believe that he wouldnt choose such place to work again. And also the trauma from camp has a weight on him that he would probably never overcome.
I picture him as a pediatrician (kids think that magic is real and no one would believe them if will uses his powers.) Maybe a kinesiologist too.
But, i think that later in his life he would feel like he can do so much more with his powers and he has the feeling that he is managing better his ptsd (he is not), so he would study surgery and became one of the greatest of all times.
((If this would be a Willvis fic, Travis would ask himself if he did right by encouraging him to follow his dreams when he is comforting (or after comforting) Will when he has night terrors and flashbacks and ptsd about their teenage time mixed with their adult life.))
Its bittersweet im sorry but i cant help it.
You have incredible works!
My headcanon (that has zero basis on canon) changes every single month about what Travis and Connor's profession would be lol. It varies between:
youtubers that travel the world vlogging popular sites and less known sites
Farmers who raise cattle/sheep and a side business of raising working breed border collies
youtube channel dedicated to a bunch of random stuff like pickpocketing tutorials and how to handle a live mine and 'Learning how to speak [insert whatever language] lesson 1'
social workers/therapist to help others like how they did as co-counselors at camp
dog trainers that work specifically with the dogs breed for herding and guarding
stunt actors in films/movies
I just always picture them working in the same field together. Can't really imagine them being separate to be honest.
(I know the easy and probably most likely scenario if Rick ever make a sequel where they are all adults is that Travis and Connor make a pranking youtube channel but I hate those channels with a burning passion because it's just all scripted as well as some going way too far and I'm sure Travis and Connor would want authentic reactions. But then they'll be sued/put in jail so...)
I also don't think Will would be a surgeon. But it would be funny to see how the Mist will try to cover this up if he's working in a normal hospital. Like, is Will going to not use his power and do it like any other mortal surgeon? Or if he uses his powers and get what should have been a 1/2/3/15 hour surgery done in 10 seconds, how does the Mist convince the nurse and anesthesiologist who's monitoring and recording the vitals that nothing abnormal happens?
Also I'm just imagining Will having these shit awful aseptic technique and the entire medical staff losing it because he can just say a hymn to prevent/heal infection and also the techniques he learned at camp is probably really lax and loose on the rules since ambrosia and nectar fixes near everything.
[I picture him as a pediatrician (kids think that magic is real and no one would believe them if will uses his powers.) Maybe a kinesiologist too.]
That's so cute 🥹 Will would be so good with kids. But diagnosing kids with cancer or some other terminal illness though... that's like one of the worse pains in the world. And it'll remind Will of the days of the war where his friends/family die young too.
I'm positive Will can save them. But then it becomes another Ascelpsius situation where Will is saving those who should have definitely died. (I guess not really because he's not bringing them back to life like his half-brother did ... but there are conditions/illnesses that cannot be cured by modern medicine so if Will saves them isn't that basically the same?)
A kinesiologist or physical therapist is also really cute!! And not a lot of death involved too since it's just helping/motivating/teaching patients how to get their range of motion back. My old anatomy teacher joked a lot of it being 'legal torture' lol
((If this would be a Willvis fic, Travis would ask himself if he did right by encouraging him to follow his dreams when he is comforting (or after comforting) Will when he has night terrors and flashbacks and ptsd about their teenage time mixed with their adult life.))
Willvis oh man. That would make for such a good angsty fic. I can just picture them travis spooning will in his arms after helping him fall back asleep from a nightmare and travis just pressing his face against Will's neck wondering if he had said something different, if this would still be happening.
You have incredible works!
thank you so much!! 🥹 It really means a lot ❤️

Lupin III Chapter 43 Review
GRAAAAHHHHHH ITS CHAPTER 43 TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
goemon is in the cover again this means its big deal boys
in this chapter im assuming goemon is out to get revenge for all the scrolls lupin stole he gets hired by his superiors to kill him but he constant gets outsmarted by lupin
the first time is goemon trying to kill lupin while he is trying to have sex with a random woman
Tumblr media
he gets smacked by a wooden plank while lupin complains about him, saying how hes taking a day off and he doesnt need goemon in his way ok but what lupin be doing having sex outside though lupin and the woman leaves and afterward goemon meets with his superiors
Tumblr media
theyre very disappointed with him! saying how he needs to focus more and be more cold blooded they show an example in fact one of them picks up a bird from a cage and rips off one of its wings, showing how goemon needs to become heartless and a true killer…
Tumblr media
im not gonna show the panels in particular because it makes me whince everytime i look at it goemon is also shocked to see him do such a thing, but he listens believing that he can kill lupin by training to be cold blooded feels bad
it's the second trial boys, maybe this time goemon can do it this time he enters DIRECTLY INTO LUPIN'S MANSION HOW DID HE FIND IT of course this time lupin is still having sex with the woman i would commend him for being courteous and doing it indoors but goemon is right in front him... poor guy.
Tumblr media
L: Goemon! I told you! I'm taking the day off! L: If you absolutely insist, I'll kill you tomorrow! G: Now, damn it! Kill me now! Or return the Jitoryu scrolls!
lupin ignores him and continues with his business and goemon slices through the couch that they were on
im assuming from the sequences of events that he took the girl and leads both of them to fight outside of some random wilderness again
something funny that i wanted to mention is how lupin called goemon a teenanger because he comes at the worst times in the manga i guess you can hc goemon as a teenager or probably the youngest out of the cast, hes usually the less cruel one and he's typically the most 'innocent' one if i'm putting that right
anyways, lupin unarmed, pretends to be trapped and cornered by goemon and calls for help, but in fact...
Tumblr media
L: Somebody please shoot this man! Why don't I have a gun? W: Because you gave it to me, silly!
...and Goemon's attempt fails i like how each attempt is slowly getting sillier everytime you'll get why it gets like that later goemon, once again, returns back to his superiors.
Tumblr media
them, even more disappointed now, starts to ridicule the man for being too nice and warm blooded my boy does NOT deserve this hes too sweet for his own good leave him alone…
ok THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM, RIGHT!? this time goemon and lupin meet up on a cliff of some random coast with a boat goemon demands lupin to fight him and he sounds super super angry..
Tumblr media
i think this is an attempt to sound threatening lupin pulls out the scrolls and he decides to put it in the deck of the boat to convince goemon to not fight him goemon opens the deck of the boat and he sinks as it was just a silly little trick, and lupin and the woman run off with the scroll still in their hands
Tumblr media
...Goemon's third attempt fails. how long is this going to go.
Tumblr media
S: You are not a talker… a thinker… you are a KILLER! S: The secret iron-cutting technique… use it! Destroy Lupin! and so he does!
goemon approaches lupin this time on a highway while lupin is driving his car, and SLICES IT IN HALF lupin is so fucking done with goemon's shit this time good lordy
Tumblr media
ok but how is the car still running but anyways lupin runs over goemon, and he fails for the 4th time...
as he returns to his surperiors he announces that he's now sick and tired of listening to his superiors and he's going to leave!! what is he gonna do next though??
surprisingly hes taken quite a liking to lupin through the time, and decides this time to follow him instead!!!!!!
Tumblr media
woohoo!! goemon joins the gang finally!!! AND IT ONLY TOOK 43 CHAPTERS

Request for Forever-1234567899
Tim was shrunk due to one of the cites catastrophes, he had to manage to find a job somewhere that would be willing to hire someone at you size. Unfortunate no one would take him up on his offer as each turned it down. That is until one fellow appeared from one of the alleys and approached him.
"Hey shrimp, i hear you're looking for a high paying job"
"Y-yeah i am. Do you any that'd be willing" Tim asked.
"Oh I'd say there pretty willing. Interested?"
"Yes! God yes!"
"Splendid, let me take you there" the fellow lowered a hand to the ground as he waited for Tim to step up.
Tim was hesitant at first, butt he soon hopped aboard as the giant began to move. It was a quiet walk as the sound of the city echoed in the area before the giant turned a corner and went into an apartment. The giant soon entered into a room as Tim was placed onto the bed.
"Nice digs, i love the color pattern on the walls. Oh! I didn't quite catch your name, and what's that job you were talking about" Tim said excitingly. His attention looking around the bed before a light thud brought hus gaze to the giant. His shorts were lowered over his thighs as the as the back of hus underwear was pulled down.
"The only name you call me, is boss. And your job is being a prop for my show" he says.
Tim was thinking he was joking, but the sudden hand reaching over to him said otherwise. He tried getting off the bed, but it wasn't enough as his entire body was lifted up and mushed between the tender flesh of his crack.
"Hey! I didn't sign up for this! Gah-" the mounds of flesh drew closer as the Tim could feel the hole clench at his back. The area would soon envelope his body as the tender muscle would begin to roll themselves ontop of him. Each stroke increasing the frowsty smelly as the walls got slick.
"First rule of the job, no whining while working got it?" The giant gave his ass a slight as he felt tim's back against his pucker. The feeling encourage him to hold his cheeks together as he teasingly began to pucker up his hole to bring him closer.
"Alright alright, i get it! No whining!" Tim managed timo muffle from with the muscle.
"Good, now for my offer. I got some picture I need to take for a client of mine. He demands pictures of a tiny inside my ass, so you're hear to ensure he gets it"
"But why does it have to be me!"
"What did i say about whining"
"Er- R-right sir, or..boss"
"That's better. Now, if you must know, not many who shrunk to your size are not so keen on walking about the city. Something that you foolishly did on your own. And since you're the only i got, you're gonna do it. If you want your pay, you gotta ensure the client is happy" The giant said.
"So all i have to do is participate in your pictures, that's it"
"Yes, and you can return to your life freely. IF the client is satisfied"
"Okay, doesn't sound too bad...so what type of pictures is he looking for?" Tim saw the mounds of flesh begin to mounds of flesh begin to open as two fingers would stick themselves in and fondle at his body. Hus body would twist against the walls until his back was parallel to the giant's pucker and his hand and feel were planted into the sides of his cheeks.
"The first, he wants a picture of a tiny stretching my cheeks apart. Without help he implied" the giant said.
"Push them apart! How am i even supposed to lift them"
"Guess you gotta figure that out. Get to it" the giant aligned his ass towards the mirror as he held the camera in his hands. He looked back at his cheeks as he saw them begin to part and wobble. Constantly, Tim's body would appear between the moon like glutes before they clapped back together. Hits grunts and pushes felt as the giant got a hard on in the process.
Attempt after attempt, the you would see he cheeks clap themselves together as they hid Tim from sight. "Come on runt, the client hasn't got all day".
"Easier said than done when you're trying part a whole ass! Gah!" Tim's hands would constantly slip between the cheeks walls as the muscles compressed him into a musty embrace. The flesh now feel warm as the humidity inside increased. It took a couple of trial and errors, but Tim managed to get a hold he pressed with all his might. His front side would appear between the giants cheeks in the mirrors as he pushed them as far as he can. "Take the shot!".
"Hang on, i need to get the camera focused. A little bit here and..."
"Take the shot damn it! Im slipping!"
"...there" just as the giant said that, the cheeks would clench back together as Tims grunts muffled from between.
"Not bad runt, the client seems happy with that one"
"Nuh, he better be" Tim mumbled.
"What was that"
"N-nothing boss! So, is that only one he needs?"
"Far from it, he wants one more"
"And what's that" Tim muffled. The area would soon begin to compact as the giant as s would begin to compress. A thick fabric would manage to slither its way between the giants cheeks as Tim's body was brought closer to the puckered hole behind him.
"He want a picture of you pushing out of my ass with my underwear on. Even highlighted "with handprints" in red" the giant said.
"Seriously!" Tim gritted from the compact space.
"Very, now get to it" the giant placed both hands on his cheeks as he brought close together. The fabric along with Tim would bulge forward as his grunts muffled from behind the wooled fabric. "Best get to pushin. The camera is set on a timer of 5 seconds. So im not letting up the pressure til i get a good picture for the client" the giant could feel the lile stretches in between his ass as his pucker could feel Tim's feet kicking against it. The fabric would buck in the mirror, but there would be no bulge.
"How does it look out there?"
"Pitiful" the giant snerked.
"I meant the handprints!"
"There are none, push harder" the giant clenched his body a little as the pressure increased slightly. It pushed the mounds of flesh against Tim as he was pressed in the blue fabric. His face outlined from the center as the glutes morphed around the tight fabric. "Well, its not hands, but it'll do" the giant clenched his cheeks once more as the bulged face got bigger. But on the inside, Tim would begin to notice am his lower half was being pushed into his hole. He tried getting the giant's attention but the fabric only silenced them. The giant continued clenching his ass more of the bulged face appeared, but after the last snapshot was taking from the timer was when he stopped.
He soon picked up his as he looked at the pictures captured. Each slide showing Tim's face bulging from the underwear. "Yeah, he'll like those. Alright runt, that's enough. You've earned pay" the giant says looming in the mirror. He pulled down the fabric, but could see Tim. "Hmm?" Pulling them more down, he parted his cheeks apart to show Tim gripping along the rim of his hole.
"Great, you got your pictures! Now can you get me out of your hole before it sucks me in?"
"Hold on.." The giant reached over towards his phone as he aligned it near his ass. Then with a flash, the hole would clench tighter as the giant checked the picture. "Mmm, no that's a picture i think he would like".
"Good, now get me out your ass please boss"
"Fine Fine, i'll let you" **ping** "hmm..."
"What? What's wrong" Before Tim knew it, the underwear's flap would begin to stretch overhead as the sealed him inside. "Hey! What are you doing?!"
"Change of plans runt. Looks like my hunch was correct, the really did like that picture. Insisted he payed double if i sent him more" the giant continued to redress as he took another picture.
"What, no! Grg! I didn't sign up for that! Let me out of here!"
"Pipe down will ya, you're killing the vibe. I'll let you out tomorrow...Or the next day. I don't know we'll see" with that the giant pulled up his shorts as he began to walk out the door. With Tim struggling to get out as the mounds of flesh and must compressed around him.

alright. watched all of re:zero. mixed feelings. its got some good highs but a recurring thread of either baffling or boring writing decisions
i like a surprising amount of the characters. though i do not like subaru (yes he is the main character and yes this makes things difficult).
but i found that no matter how much i could enjoy a character, it was really hard to enjoy them consistently. subaru for example oscillates constantly between pretty fun and unbearable, while other characters tend to get progressively worse the more they develop/are explored. characters will be set up with compelling backstories that make you interested in their development, only for it to become more and more boring?
few examples:
- garfield, at first, seems to be struggling with the fact that both his mother and sister left the sanctuary and him behind, while he is incapable of overcoming his trial to do the same and follow them. its revealed that although their mother left them behind for her own sake, frederica left in order to create a new home for the rest of their people, in preparation for when they one day would leave the sanctuary. this is pretty cool! it gives us a good reason to predict garfield being the one who will liberate the sanctuary in place of emilia or subaru, since it could lead to the resolution of his conflict with his sister, which we naturally want to see. and the trials are literally there to help characters overcome their inner turmoils. except wait, their mother never abandoned them, she just died before she could return (to a landslide, leaving no one to blame for it), and also frederica never overcame her trial, she didnt need to because she could leave anytime, and so could garfield??? its so strange. garfield at the start seems like a representative of the people of the sanctuary (who receive exremely little screentime), both to us the audience and to emilia's gang. someone who was trapped there, and had been trapped for years, and had given up hope of ever leaving, unlike his sister; the most natural arc for his character would be to find that hope and help the people he cares about so much to a brighter future. him being abandoned by his mother would be reflective of his people being abandoned by the outside world, while frederica would be the opposite, sort of like a call to action and a test of faith (someone out there is waiting for the day they're all freed, ergo there is hope for them). instead we get garfield's personal conflict being mostly disconnected from his people's and once he resolves it he just leaves it all in the hands of emilia and more specifically subaru. its so fucking boring
- rem, beatrice and ram. im covering all three at once because they have the same fucking problem and i hate them for it: their personal conflicts are replaced/amount to nothing more than them loving some guy. its genuinely the worst part of the show to me. they all suck. rem and ram have a compelling sibling relationship and conflict at the beginning, but once the mansion arc is done rem's character is so watered down and reduced that i dont think she mentions her sister in the entire second half of season 1 even *twice*. instead its all subaru. subaru subaru subaru. its also just dumb? in the mansion her arc seems to be about being able to find value in herself outside of her relationship with her sister and the service she can provide in ram's place, but it just ends up with ram being replaced by subaru in her mind. before she did it all for ram, now she does it all for subaru, so you end up feeling as though she hasnt progressed at all, and unfortunately i dont find her relationship with subaru that compelling.
beatrice is the fucking same: she was abandoned by echidna to look after the library and wait for someone to take her place, which she misinterprets as someone who would "sweep her off her feet and carry her away" or whatever, effectively dooming herself to never connecting with the people around her and also never learning to love herself, until all she wants to do is die (LEARNING TO ACCEPT OTHERS LOVE FOR ONESELF AND THUS LEARNING TO LOVE OENESELF HENCE FINDING VALUE IN ONES OWN LIFE IS THE *EXPLICITLY STATED THESIS STATEMENT OF SEASON 2*) but the conclusion to her arc is completely half assed! beatrice doesnt leave the library because she wants to live and give the world a chance, she never fucking connects or even interacts with another character except for subaru and puck, she leaves the library because she decides to bet it all on subaru because he's the specialest little boy or whatever. even subaru himself doesnt ask her to give other people a chance, he asks her to choose him, specifically. her arc is nothing. its a bunch of whinging about how she cant wait around for a knight in shining armor to come save her forever, until that exact thing happens. and no, i dont think you can disguise this with semantics about how subaru doesnt choose her over emilia or whatever.
as for ram, i honestly really liked her character until the moment she tells roswaal that she loves him. after that idc
with all of this im just reminded of chainsaw man part 1, where a big part of the characters is the multi faceted relationships they form. "love" is not just romantic. in re:zero, however, when a character loves another character it feels like there is seldom any room for interpretation. the exceptions to this are familial love, such as puck and emilia, subaru and his parents and the various sibling relationships. even if some of these relationships are meant to be moreso platonic, like maybe ram & roswaal, the show makes no effort to really convince anyone of this nor explore it in any measure, and since so many of them are very explicitly romantic i dont really end up feeling compelled to investigate the matter either. its annoying since love is a big theme in season 2, but it doesnt feel explored nor multifaceted.
- subaru. the show seems to try to ~subvert isekai tropes~ by not making subaru all powerful, but it feels half assed because he does end up all important. everyone cares about subaru. subaru can convince anyone of anything. everyone listens to what he has to say and he always has something important to say. characters who find him irrelevant at first will end up admiring him, depending on him and liking him after he dies a few times, just you wait!... there's some dissonance here, because the show DOES try to make it clear to subaru that he should consider the people around him just as seriously as he does himself, in the sense that he needs to respect them. but it doesnt feel like the show itself does that, when every character orbits the star of the show. the show is telling you that the side characters arent just npc's, but it has a hard time actually committing to that at times.
- echidna. honestly not much to say here except i was a bit disappointed. i just sort of expected... more? as it stands i dont think i even had firm grasp on what her goal is, and it doesnt feel like she ends up doing much. at the beginning she seems charming yet off-putting, so you naturally expect her to be the future antagonist, but then that role gets delegated to roswaal instead, leaving echidna with.. surprisingly little. i might have to think some more about her idk
im not sure how i feel about the second season tho. it grinds the overall pacing to a halt and spends the entire time on the sanctuary conflict, but said conflict lacks a good, compelling narrative and emotional core. what is it about? the half-breeds who are trapped? roswaal, beatrice and ryuzu meyer? emilia's backstory? the witches? it wants to focus on all of it, but i really dont feel like it does it very well. parts of it are completely unrelated from one another. season 1 at least keeps a red thread with subaru and emilia's relationship, and season 2 kinda does as well, but idk if i like it as much.
man i dont even know. its really hard for me to pin down my thoughts and what i feel the underlying issue is here. doesnt help that it just.. wasnt my cup of tea.

The Highwayman - Part Two
pairing: astarion x female npc (reader, not the mc!) warnings: references to abuse and torture rating: teen for the above reasons, for now <3 word count: 1,632 notes: we’re back bc this has been fun to write!! if you like it, consider reblogging and/or leaving me some notes in said reblogs xx part one. ao3.
Tumblr media
There are some that take pleasure in the distress of another, often with a special glee if they think the other has done wrong. But who in the world hasn’t done wrong, you think as you try to maintain an expression that appears interested in what’s being said. It turns out the Gur can talk for quite a while.
It seems his delight with Astarion’s suffering has to do with the fact that he is not a fellow mortal. You’d like to think you’d be ashamed if you felt any way similar.
But he has no shame at all, it seems. Though his version of events is also part-lie, he claims vaguely to be a hunter as well-- and Astarion a prize. While you have no doubt in the verity of both statements, there’s something missing.
You’ve been sitting on a barstool so long your back’s aching. And were it a quicker-paced evening you might be forced to your feet, pouring drinks for the weary on their way to the city. But Gandrel the hunter is the only man still upright, in a manner of speaking. He’s deep in his cups and hasn’t asked for another glass of wine.
“Haven’t I seen you before somewhere,” he asks. And as if he seems to realize the foolishness of that, adds, “Briefly, of course.”
“I don’t think we’ve met, sir, no,” you begin. It isn’t always like this, most types that pass through the Dying Gull hardly notice you. They’re too busy looking at the flagon you set down in front of them.
But it seems Gandrel is smart, even when drunk. And that unnerves you.
“Forgive my asking,” he goes on, “but I think it may’ve been on a wanted poster in Baldur’s Gate.”
Clever enough to remember a face, but not bright enough to say nothing. You scoff, letting your eyes fall to the tops of your boots.
“I meant no offense, you understand,” he says, trying to salvage the interest of a pretty woman. “In fairness, I may be wrong. I couldn’t recall what the poster was for--”
“No, you’re right about where you likely know me from,” you admit. “My face was all over the city for a time.”
“Do you mind if I asked what happened, seeing as I’ve told you stories of my own?” he says. You bite your tongue to keep from telling him that you asked in order to steal from him.
“I was put on trial for theft’n murder, which I did not commit” you say, “course I ran, as any girl’d do.”
“We’ve all been scared,” he says, staring blankly at you. You nod.
“Right. Can I trust you not to say nothin’ when you get back with your quarry?” you ask in turn. “I mean, you are a hunter after all.”
“Not in the way you’d think,” he replies. “My quarry, as you put it, tends to be the bloodthirsty and monstrous kind. And I mean that literally.”
“You’re a monster hunter,” you confirm. He nods. “And the man in the wagon?”
“Not a man,” he corrects, you try not to bristle. “Vampire spawn.”
“Oh, my,” you feign a gasp. But he’s too drunk to notice. “I wonder what he’s done to earn such a fate.”
“I have no idea, it didn’t seem my place to ask,” Gandrel laughs in a way that makes you uncomfortable, “But I suppose its existence could be damning enough.”
“Right,” you reply. “That’s why you haven’t fed him?”
“Would be irresponsible, I thought,” he says. “Doubt it could die again.”
“I hadn’t considered that,” you admit.
He looks at you like you’re pitiable and soft-hearted. Like you’re still a lass on a wanted poster, wrongfully accused. You stare at him back with glassy sweetness, and he is foolish enough to mistake it for sincere.
Gandrel asks for another drink, then. And, dutifully as it is your job, you provide him with one. Though coherent enough to sniff out the gossip up until that point, this last glass makes him slump over the bar.
It’s just as well, you’ve had enough of his mismatched empathy.
Plucking the obvious loop of keys from his belt as he snores over the bar is like taking sweets from a child. But without the obvious guilt, of course. Stealing freedom from a bad man is one of the nobler things you’ve done, after all.
You sincerely doubt him to be exemplary of anything other than cruelty, though he was right when he insisted to you that not all Gur were awful despite popular opinion. He, unfortunately, happens to be. You leave the Dying Gull with a sneer on your mouth and let the door shut quietly behind you.
Out in the cold night, you wish you’d brought your shawl. Skin turns to ice this close to winter, and you’re almost worried about Astarion as you near the wagon before you remember what he is.
The canvas drape is still tugged out of the way, letting in lamplight and long shadows. Fear lurches in your heart when you don’t immediately see him huddled in the cage.
“Astarion?” you whisper.
“You’re late,” his reedy voice mumbles back. You hear a shifting, a creaking and a sound like bones being dragged. He pulls himself into the light at the gap in the canvas. “You said an hour, at the very least it has been two.”
“As if you’re any good with time of day,” you scoff. But with more triumph than even you expect, you hold up the ring of keys.
Their merry jangle seems to shock him out of his joyless ribbing. His eyes, blood-red and glassy with hunger seem to sharpen in the half-light. He sits forward a little bit, though without the energy given to him by anger he lacks the strength to fly at the bars.
“You have them,” he says like he can’t believe it. “I thought for sure you’d be caught by that grubby little--” he cuts himself off when he sees your expression shift to something unamused. “He happens to be annoyingly wise.”
“Though a bit of an idiot at the same moment,” you add. To your surprise, Astarion smirks.
“Are you waiting for me to waste away to nothing?” he asks, his jovial tone now includes a sharpness. But whether it is fear or anger is anyone’s guess.
“My apologies,” you huff, choosing not to start an argument. You walk back around the cage and take hold of the lock. Astarion inches towards where the door will swing open.
It gives a satisfying click, feeling heavy in your hand when you tug it out of the loops. Pulling the door aside, you stand out of the way.
Though you offer your hand to help, Astarion does not take it as he crawls for the entrance. He stands for the first time in three days and nearly buckles upon doing so. His knees ache from sitting with his back hunched, and his eyes from straining in the dark for so long.
You jump forward, quick enough to wrap an arm about his waist and keep him standing. But before he can lash out, curl or coil away from you as he does-- Astarion notices you are not touching him any more. He’s been propped up against the cage, silver feeling uncomfortably warm with only a frayed doublet between it and his skin.
He decided he didn’t want your help. You only caught him to keep him from splitting his skull open. He gives a quick nod, not in gratitude or thanks. But it’s in acknowledgement, at least.
“You mentioned cattle?” he asks, trying to sound casual and crossing his arms over his chest. Keeping in a laugh is a struggle, but you manage it.
“Be patient while I lock up the cage. I think it best to make it look as if you’re still inside of it,” you rationalize. Astarion rolls his eyes.
“If I had it my way, I’d be strong enough to lock him in there,” he spits. “And to see how he enjoys himself.”
“Yes, and then you’d spurr the horse until it carried him to some other place with people less likely to forgive vampire spawn,” you reply. You don’t fumble with the lock in the least, sliding it back in its place and readying its key.
“I meant that he would be dead,” Astarion mutters. “In addition to being caged.”
“So did I,” you reply. You look back at him with a firm look. “Best that he be kept alive for now. No use murderin’ where it isn’t needed.”
“I don’t have much of a say, I suppose,” he admits. It’s true, he can barely stand. And cows blood will only give him strength enough to run now that his energy’s failed him, “Lead on.”
“Give me just another moment,” you say. “There’s two keys on this ring.”
“And?” he sighs. You’re already walking around the wagon, and though you don’t see him lean his head back against the silver bars-- you hear him hiss when his skin makes contact.
You smirk, tempted to ignore him.
“Odds are it’s not a key to a house, seein’ as he’s a proud wanderin’-type,” you say.
You crawl up in the wagon and begin to feel over the rough wood. Your fingers brush over a keyhole discreetly placed perpendicular to the seat. A hidden compartment lies under it.
“What are you doing?” Astarion asks more directly, following you around the other side of the wagon and leaning when necessary.
You’re on your knees in the footrest, but you lift your head as a lock clicks open a second time that night.
“I said we couldn’t kill ‘im,” you repeat. “Never said we couldn’t rob ‘im blind.”

OKAY so ive been wanting to write this post since i started the books a few days ago but i have had absolutely no time so here we finally go
i recently started reading acotar and i finished the first one and im idk maybe 1/3 of the way through the second one and i. Hate. tamlin. okay i never liked him and first of all i thought there was more chemistry between feyre and literally anyone else like they were just having sex i really dont think there was a relationship there because they just thought they were each others only chance but i dont even think hes like a good person i mean yea he made sure her family was well off but that was definitely just to make sure she stayed so there would be that chance that she would fall in love with him and break his curse which by the way super beauty and the beasty anyway he has a damn temper and its not any normal anger issue thing like he could literally tear her apart in seconds if he got angry enough he trashed the manor so much that im surprised anything was ever unbroken and when they were Under the Mountain, not the best name btw, and feyres doing her trials and tamlin, supposedly the love of her life, just fucking sits there i couldnt believe that it was actually tamlin just sitting there and watching her go through everything without reacting at all i didnt even think it was actually tamlin until that one party the night before her last trial when they snuck back to have sex because thats literally all their relationship was and side note, i love rhysand and i always have but well get back to that in a moment because even if tamlin didnt have severe anger issues, control issues, overprotectiveness, or cowardice, i still wouldnt like him because hes boring like hes just not an interesting character Oh and when amarantha was literally beating the life out of feyre, tamlin just sat there. he didnt move. he didnt make a sound. he just sat and watched and then had the audacity to cry over her dead body meanwhile my babe rhysand was kicking and screaming to get to her and healed her after the trials and saved her and luciens lives during the second trial and wanted half the month with her because he cares for her and every single action he takes in the second book so far is because he cares about her okay first of all, he didnt steal her away or force her to go immediately he waited until she called out, until she wanted to leave to go get her and he was there instantaneously to get her out of that situation and i knew he would be she was like get me out of here and i was like rhys is gonna come and whisk her away and he did! he did and he was so sassy about it i love him and oh and back to tamlin being terrible when feyre got back from rhysands the first time and they got in a fight and tamlin bought her an art set even though she hadnt painted for months and rhys knew that but tamlin couldnt be bothered to notice and she upset him and he fucking blew the study apart with her in it and the only thing that prevented her from being showered with all those deadly shards of wood and glass and whatever else was her own new power that he couldnt have known about so if she hadnt instinctively done that, he wouldve hit her and i know it wasnt his hand making the blow but it was his power and thats still him, still his fault and thats abuse so fuck him and when she got back the second time, he literally locked her in the house either not knowing or not caring that shes now terribly claustrophobic and i honestly dont know whats worse because if he didnt know that means he didnt notice that she hadnt touched a paintbrush in months when rhys did, he didnt notice how she couldnt go into certain rooms when rhys did, he didnt notice how she kept having such horrible nightmares she’d throw up for hours when rhys did, and not only did rhys pick up on all of that but he unpromptedly accommodated for all of it he noticed she hadnt wanted to paint and got her a new hobby of reading he noticed she felt trapped in certain closed spaces and his mountaintop castle manor home is completely open her room especially and her room in the valeris house has this big like bay window and shes not waking up at night not knowing where she is and hurling her guts in terror but that one time when she was throwing up he just held her hair and rubbed her back and i love rhysand and the not caring on tamlins part right meant that he did notice all that and chose to ignore it supposedly the love of his life is so damn traumatized that shes half dead from malnutrition and sleep deprivation and he just fucking lets it happen he doesnt even remotely try to help he doesnt even acknowledge it and when she went back to rhys after tamlins explosion and feyre looked all gaunt he was so angry and concerned and when mor got her after her panic attack from being trapped in the house he stayed up all night in some chair by her to make sure she’d be alright and he feigns being unconcerned and uncaring but theres absolutely no way at all that he isnt in love with her
im sure i had something else to say but i cant remember so in short: fuck tamlin and i love rhysand

puzzles in enkanomiya were the next level omd the hilichurls should riot over the constant change in nighttime/daytime that i caused. i managed to solve a bunch of them on my own, fortunately :D plss the moving wall puzzle made me so confused bcs how can it be symmetrical when the imaginary blue walls aren't in one line with each other. then i realised the colour didn't matter and u just had to fill in all of the space 🤡
i only have a hundred or so bcs i don't like it if the amount drops under 100 🖐 i just did gorou's hangout a few days ago and he's the bestest boy in the world, , , i was NOT expecting for us to have to retreat in the end after the confrontation 😭😭 i loved beidou's hangout out of the new ones the most, though. she really has great characterisation and writing. chongyun's still remains my fav tho bcs im biased 😩✨

Prompt:
"Right now i dont know if i want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge." "can i pick?"
song: shes too tough by def leppard
tag list: @cynic-spirit
+++++++++
I sat at the one end of the bar and watched whiskey on the other as he looked out the window from his spot in the booth. we had been assigned a new mission together, something small since i was still training. we just had to tag some guy and get out, nothing too serious. i was supposed to be doing all the work but if worst came to worst whiskey was here to pickup the slack. but its really just because he didnt think i could do it and expressed those feelings to champ. He said I was too young, and that he didn't wanna have to babysit me when they started assigning us more missions together. more strenuous missions.
i frowned at the thought and sipped from my glass, haphazardly pulling at the hem of my short black dress. it was already past ten and the target still hadnt arrived. our informant said he would be here. i was starting to lose hope, looking from the bartender as she topped me off  and back to jack again. he nodded at me once, his eyes shifting behind me. i drew my brows before turning, the man stepping up to the bar beside me and ordering.
"ill have what she's having."
he said slyly, looking to me with a smirk. i faked a blushy moment, looking down with a small smile.
"to what do i owe the pleasure?"
i asked, looking back to him as the bartender set his drink down. he offered his hand for me to shake.
"im matt, and im celebrating."
"oh?"
i asked as he downed the whole glass. he nodded quickly, standing closer to my side and placing his hand at my back. i just watched him with a knowing smile as he motioned for another.
"can you keep a secret?"
i nodded slowly, leaning in as he got closer.
"i just closed a very big deal. one that will push my company higher than we've ever been before."
i raised a brow, looking to jack for a split second. he was staring at us intently, his hand on his hip like he was ready to attack at any moment.
"and what does that mean exactly?"
i asked and the man just stared at me until i let out a nervous laugh, one he quickly copied with an enthusiastic boast. he draped his arm over my shoulder and downed another glass.
"it means that if tonight goes well, and im hoping that it does, you could be one very lucky girl."
he said and i drew my brows, sipping my own drink as me moved to sit on the stool beside me, scooting it closer to me.
"is that so?"
i said and he nodded.
"you ever consider being a sugar baby? cause i could take care of you for just a little bit of company."
he said with a wink and my eyes went wide.
"go with me to big branding parties, let me love on you a little bit here and there,"
his voice dropped at the last bit, his hand making its way to my thigh as i crossed one leg over the other.
"keep conversations with me over text, and you could be living very comfortably."
i laughed a little to myself as he began to sway back and forth. fuckin lightweight. i nodded.
"how about we start with a trial run?"
i asked and he wiggled his brows at me, downing a fourth glass.
"is that an invitation to get out of here?"
he asked and i stood.
"you tip that nice woman behind the bar very well and it sure as hell is."
i said and he stood too, stumbling a little into me as he reached for his wallet. i steadied him as he dug into it and slapped two hundred dollar bills on the lacquered wood separating us from her.
"you have a great night."
he told her boldly, wrapping his arm around my waist and turning us around. i nodded to jack quickly before he pulled us closer to the door. i could hear jacks boots against the floor a few feet behind us as we made it outside.
"is it hot out here or is it just you?"
matt asked and i half snorted.
"oh its definitely her."
jack said from behind us, making the guy turn around confused.
"hey man, can i help you?"
he asked and i sent jack a testing look.
"just worried for her safety is all."
jack said and the man laughed.
"shes the one taking me home, you have nothing to worry about cowboy, so just head on back inside."
he instructed, turning back around and trying to walk away with me. then jack grabbed his shoulder harshly, spinning him around and colliding his fist with matts face. i gasped as he hit the ground, seemingly out cold.
"what the hell?!"
i said, kneeling down beside him and turning his face towards me. he just groaned, his eyes still closed as his nose started bleeding.
"i dont like the way he was touching you."
whiskey said and i sent him a stern look.
"this was my mission whiskey, it wasnt up to you."
i said angrily, reaching into my pocket and pulling out the tracker.
"youre bleeding matt, im gonna touch your face."
he groaned again, rocking his head back and forth as he tried to blink his eyes open. it only sort of worked. i touched his nose gently and he hissed, closing them again. i just shook my head, placing the tracker at the tip of the napkin jack handed me, shoving it into the side of his nose that was gushing red. when my phone beeped i knew it was now in the wound and working. i stood up and pressed my finger into jacks chest.
"i cant believe you. in had this."
he sent me a look.
"but now the hard parts over."
he said and i seethed.
"yes i get that on one hand i dont have to go home with him but im mad at you."
i said half annoyed and jack smirked.
"Right now i dont know if i want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge."
"can i pick?"
he asked and i rolled my eyes, looking back down to matt on the ground, eyes closed and hand holding the napkin to his face.
"no."
i said sternly looking back to him and pushing him to the side of the building.
"seriously jack why did you do that? i had this under control."
i whispered and he just stared at matt on the ground.
"i told you, he was creeping me out. and the way he was groping you was just downright disrespectful."
i laughed, taking his attention.
"and what about it?! i would've gotten back to his hotel without you if we'd gone any further anyways, so what does it matter?"
i asked harshly and he looked a little mad.
"unless you're jealous? is that why you told champ you didn't want me here alone?"
i accused and he gripped my arms, turning me and pushing me into the wall.
"i don't get jealous."
he said lowly and i raised a brow.
"then why is the target on the ground and youre all hot and bothered?"
i challenged. his grip on me tightened. we just stared at each other for a moment. he was still fuming but with the silence hung in the air like a noose i could tell he didnt have a valid answer to my question.
"so how long have you had a crush agent?"
i taunted and he let out a long, deep breath.
"im a grown man, i dont have a crush."
he said and i snorted, pressing my knee in-between his legs.
"then whats this jack?"
i said lowly and his gaze darkened.
"that darlin, is desire."
i raised a brow.
"so should i be going home with you instead?"
i asked innocently and he smirked at me.
"think you could tame this horse?"
he said smoothly and i leaned forward, close to his ear as he still had me pinned to the wall.
"why dont you take me to the rodeo and find out."
i bit his earlobe lightly and he pulled away.
"this job is done right?"
he asked and i laughed, looking over his shoulder at matt still on the ground, rolling to his side and pulling the napkin out of his nose.
"i think so."
i said, looking back to jack and he let me go, taking my hand in his.
"sorry about that!"
i yelled, matt looking to me as jack dragged me down the sidewalk.
"so is that a no on the offer?"
he yelled back and i giggled, looking to jack who had a wide smile on his face.
"guess so."

Error managed to get into the Creator Realm, he brought the gang with him and they were looking for Maxie and her friends. Though that implied the creators wouldn’t find them first, which they did.
“Hello, hello, hello!” Maxie said, wrapping her arms around Error as he glitched and screamed.
“LET ME GO!” He screamed, and Maxie let him go with a pout.
“So, as Kiki said, we will be inhibiting your quest! Trials and tribulations to test how much you have actually grown to see if you actually deserve to know. Also we’re bored and want to mess with you.” Maxie said, and Error facepalmed.
“So, what do you want us to do?” Nightmare said, growling.
“Please Nightmare, nowadays your bark is worse than your bite. Anyway, we have a few obstacle courses, some logic puzzles, some PTSD triggers.” Maxie said, smiling evilly.
“What…?” Cross said, and Maxie raised an eyebrow.
“What?” Maxie said, and Cross facepalmed.
“Oh, no no no, I have only written a story about forest rangers. I would never torture Error. I am usually the one hissing in the comments to punish anyone who does hurt Error, I wish the hissing thing was a joke. Nightmare would kill me if I hurt Error, right? Getting killed by my second favorite Sans for hurting my first favorite Sans is not on my list pal.”
“Well, it seems we have a good noodle. Truly a rare find.” Error said, and Cross snickered.
“One, I’m flattered that you like me. Second, I’m glad you fear me.” Nightmare said, looking around for the voice.
“You won’t see them, from here on out, you’re in a little playground my friends and I made. Good luck.” Maxie said, snicking.
“Oh dear, guys, watch out the voices are planning to get the askers to mess with your search. They wanna draw this out so take any hints we give with a grain of salt. I'd start by looking at what Error is ẁ̵̡̼e̷̪̿à̸̩r̴̜͗i̸̛̦̗n̶͕̄ǵ̶̲, not many Sans with both a j̷͕͕̈́͂a̸̹̓ċ̵̲k̵̳͈̓̆ȇ̵̟̎ṭ̶̯̈́ ̵̨̺͋a̵̜͝n̵̠͋d̸͙͝ ̷͖̇͊s̵̢̟̑c̷̦̜̐͠a̸̦̘͗̎r̶̪̣͛f̵̰̄̾.”
“I think you guys are being censored. And I think we know who.” Error said, glaring at Maxie as she whistled.
“So any other possible relationships in the making? come on my gloomy boys feed me gossip!”
“None over on our end. Though Swap!fell has a crush on Blue, and Red is territorial. We’re waiting for the brawl.” Killer said, chuckling at the thought.
“sanses and the one or two AU papyruses when you try to stop the human at the judgment hall why not stop at the soul room to get near god power”
“Doesn’t matter. They would still beat us. We would have six, and the human has beat the photoshop abomination.” Sans said, and the others nodded. They had come over for a quick hang out.
“Ok my little Horror, aka my third fav, how good a cook are you? Like we talkin Gordon Ramsey of skeletons or what? Also are you aware you are a cute little bean?”
“I love Gordan Ramsey! He’s awesome! He has no qualms about yelling at people for their awful crimes against food. And I am aware, trust me, I know how to use it.” Horror said, winking.
“May I hug all the dark sanses or would that cross a line? You all deserve all the love the megaverse can give you. I know what it feels like to be trapped, alone, and hurt in so many ways, I know what it is like to feel out of option and angry. You don't deserve that, despite everything you are all wonderful.”
“I’d love a hug!” Cross said and felt the hug, though no presence was seen.
“Can I have a hug?” Horror asked and was given a hug.
“I’m good.” Killer said, and everyone else nodded.
“Oh guys there are so many people who have written lyrics for your song megalovania. They can be quite good. I have only ever played the pacifist route myself and can't bring myself to watch an actual playthrough cause I can't watch my beloved monster friends get killed, but it is a catchy song. Have you guys seen any of them yet? Also I think you will like this fan song a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtCBLvAw4ZY&t=71s”
“What the fuck?” Killer said, nearly everyone had the same reaction.
“I liked it.” Cross said, humming the tune.
“papyrus how does your special attack work like if the annoying dog didn't take it”
“It’s just a blaster. Though it would be much friendlier than Sans’.” Papyrus said with a shrug.
“Can I also hug Blueberry? He is my fourth favorite.”
“Absolutely! I love hugs!” Blue said and felt the hug as he smiled.
“You voices are weird.” Stretch said, lighting another cigarette.
“No more. That’s your third, I’ll burn the pack if you smoke another.” Blue said and Stretch groaned.
“flowey if you really think its fun watching human kill everyone why do you beg for mercy if you act like you dont care ps if u wanna murder human kill toriel first.”
“I don’t beg! I was just scared at first and knew I couldn’t break the script! And in case you didn’t hear, I have literally done everything.” Flowey said, rolling his eyes.
“to annoying dog sorry to papyrus in advance please follow papyrus all day while playing dogsong and steal all his bones  ps im glad ink didn't murder you”
The annoying dog yipped, he was glad he wasn’t murdered too. He kicked his stumpy legs and wagged his tail as he flew off to Papyrus, who had a feeling of foreboding and anxiety.
“YOU STUPID CANINE!” Papyrus declared as he tried to run while missing his femur. The dog smiled as the song echoed through the Underground and the dog smiled an innocent smile.
“So here is a question to the Sans personality types, why do you lie to your brother about their food? You're not helping them, it would be far kinder to be honest and help them learn to be better. Someday they are likely to meet someone who will not let them down gently and will hurt them.”
“Implying we can. They either run out the door before we can talk or we have to try talking over them.” Sans said.
“Impossible in many AUs, plus, it’s actually good half the time.” Outer said, and Red nodded, glaring at Swapfell as he was ogling Blue from a distance.
“Dream, what is it like being with your brother again? How is your guys brotherly bond affected by well everything that happened?”
“It’s awesome. We have fun and prank some unsuspecting Sanses every now and then. As people seem to forget for the longest time, we were mistaken for fey. And we didn’t help those accusations.” Dream said, “Though we never hurt anyone. Just harmless things like a pie going missing or flowers vanishing into thin air.” Dream snickered, he was back in the Doodlesphere by this point and reviewing paperwork.
“Boys how do you feel about Uncle Dreamy?”
“Don’t.” Killer said.
“No.” Cross said, eyes blank as he shook his head, everyone else was silent as they shook their heads and cringed.
“frisk how is murdering everyone one fun after all i dont think you enjoy getting repeatedly killed plus since you reset so many times you know everything that happens underground besides there are more things to murder in surface ps you didnt answer if you got to the surface on genocide”
“I like to see the dust fall, them scream in pain, and beg for mercy. It’s cute. And yes, I can murder more things on the surface, but they don’t turn to dust or give the, for lack of a better term, high I need. And I don’t get to the surface, only if I spare everyone do I get there. And before you ask, in neutral runs I’m in a limbo state, have to RESET to leave.” Frisk said, smiling as their eyes glowed red.
“frisk what about napstablook or mad dummy you can't kill either”
“I can kill Glad Dummy, and Napstablook is worthless. I don’t wanna waste my time on them.” Frisk spat, growling as they left the ruins, stepping over Toirel’s dust.
“You know what is cute? all the baby bones art of you guys. Awww why is every baby sans just so huggable? Ok ok but really baby Error! just picture a tiny baby Error and tell me that shit is not cute.”
“They’re very cute.” Nightmare said.
“But they didn’t show us any.” Killer said and Nightmare froze.
“Oh.” Error said, and Nightmare turned into a puddle out of shame.
“And payback time, Nightmare, any stories about Dream?”
Springing back to life Nightmare donned a wicked and demonic grin. “Dream didn’t know what a bed was until he was 100. And it took three people to pry him off of it.” Nightmare said.
That’s actually sad. How long did you sleep in a tree?” Cross asked and Nightmare whistled.
“Our whole lives before the apple incident. Up until then we only slept in a bed seven times each.” Nightmare said, and Cross gave him a teary hug.
“dust how come your a bad guy you were forced to kill everyone your not a bad person if someones a bad person its the human and chara”
“First of all, Chara is only a problem because of Frisk, so they aren’t as guilty as you think. Though they are not innocent. And no one wanted to befriend a killer, sure they like Red, but it’s the culture. And Ink played his cards right so I couldn’t make things worse for him, there’s a reason he didn’t stop Nightmare from helping me.” Dust said, “Same goes for everyone else.” He finished and everyone nodded.
“Hold on a sec, contacts? How do contacts work with eyelights? I don't understand...”
“Magic.” Error said, and Maxie snickered.
“So, let’s begin the challenges!” She said and they were separated and thrown into a version of Snowdin.
“Where are we?!” they cried out, looking around but Maxie laughed.
“Welcome to your first challenge! Can you handle the Star Sanses all by yourself? Only one of you has to win for all of you to proceed, and the battles will be scaled so you are evenly matched.” Maxie’s voice echoed through the area, but she was not seen.
“Maxie. What are you doing?” Jana asked, accompanied by Beatrice.
“Having a bit of fun. What are you doing?” Maxie said, smiling innocently.
“Are you seriously messing with them?” Jana said, shaking her head in disapproval.
“You didn’t raise any concern when Jack, Zack, and I were talking about our plan. So why are you looking at me like that?” Maxie said, and the two sighed.
“Because we want to help. But only to an extent.” Jana said, and Maxie was intrigued.
“To what extent I may ask?” Maxie wondered, smiling.
“If you trigger their PTSD or do anything relating to Ink, we’re out and we will tell them who Error was.” Beatrice said, and Maxie shrugged.
“Sure. It’s a deal.” She said, holding out her hand as Beatrice shook it.
“We’re still going to Jack’s for pizza right?” Maxie asked, changing the subject.
“Hell ya. I’m bringing garlic knots.” Beatrice said and Maxie's eyes lit up.
“Garlic knots!” She held her hands up in joy.
“Blue most of us saw that Christmas party webcomic already. We know you spiked the eggnog. Why do you always pretend to be so innocent? not that I have much room to talk on that front...”
“I have long admitted to spiking the eggnog at that party. And I haven’t spiked anything since. No one seems to believe me!” Blue said, grumbling as his eyes turned to small broken hearts as tears filled his eyes.
“Sure.” Stretch said, and Blue glared, some glitches popping up.
“to sci and alphys is it possible to turn flowey back into asriel.”
“Without 7 human souls, I don’t think we can. We’ve looked into it, just to see if it was possible. He may be ok with staying as Flowey, with the exception of the pacifist run, but others in his situation aren’t. So we looked at his code to see if it was hypothetically possible, and it isn’t.” Sci said, sipping coffee.
“Yeah, h-honestly, I was h-hoping that we could. I-I regret i-it so much. I-I wanted to see i-if I could help others. B-but this is i-irreversible.” Alphys said, ringing her hands.
“It broke Toriel and Asgore’s hearts. Though, they would respect Flowey’s wishes if he didn’t want to, he is still a person whose opinions should be listened to. Even if he is a jackass.” Sci said and Alphys nodded.
“sanses how do you guys stop genocide routes from starting since you said there were very few”
“We don’t. They just stop, and then they start up again. Like wet and dry seasons, only more sporadic.” Classic said.
“Some worlds, like mine, don’t have as many, the way the world works kinda discourages it.” Red said, and Swapfell nodded.
“frisk what was the strangest interaction you have had with someone in the underground”
“Gaster. He is so mysterious and strange. I wonder what his deal was, but I never can find out. I’ve met his followers and such, but I’ve never heard him speak, and I’m assuming the person I saw was Gaster!” Frisk said, they were somewhere in Snowdin forest, marking down words on their arm.
☝☜❄ 💧✌☠💧 ❄⚐ ❄✌☹😐 ✌👌⚐🕆❄ 💣🕆☹❄✋✞☜☼💧☜.
 ❄☟☼☜✌❄☠ 🏱✌🏱✡☼🕆💧.
“so what has been the most dangerous mission the dark sanses have been sent on”
“There was HorrorLustFell.” Nightmare said, “Unaware of what was going to happen, I had Cross deal with it.”
He was waiting for Maxie to start up her game, and he hoped his boys were doing well.
“HorrorLustFell.” Cross said, “I took a month-and-a-half break after that to recover.” Cross said, raiding Grillby’s and the shops for armor, supplies, and food.
Everyone gave similar responses.
“Who all is helping with the search? everyone or just the gang?”
“Just us. Everyone knows what we’re doing and they’re willing to help if we need it.” Error said, shrugging as he made himself a swing and began to swing.
“Okay here is one for the classic undertale gang, since they know about the resets and multiverse now. thoughts on this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8hGMFQPBDw”
“Sans, do you want to talk?” Papyrus asked, and Sans was gone.
“I knew he had problems, but if someone can deduce that? Wow.” Toriel said, holding her hand over her mouth.
“We have several therapists available.” Outer said, “The hard part is getting him to see one. And I know I’m a hypocrite.” Outer said, shrugging.
“You are correct, space Sans.” Papyrus said, “I just wish he could talk about it.” Papyrus said.
“I mostly wanna see what paps has to say about his brother hiding his mental health problems.”
“I knew he had issues, but I want him to talk to me, I know it’s hard to talk about your mental health problems, but it’s been five years. Though he has suffered far worse than any of us, if the Dark Sanses are anything.” Papyrus said.
“I’m going to stall Frisk, Toriel, you need to get out of here. Frisk will be getting here soon.” Papyrus said and everyone dashed out of the house.
“Have the sans ever had to have an intervention for any of the other sans, like Blueberries alcohol problem?”
“I have no problem first of all. And secondly, we have had to have interventions.” Blue said, “Black had a drug addiction a while back, and we are trying to get Papy to stop or reduce his smoking habits.” Blue said and Stretch sighed.
“At least I’m working on it.” Stretch said, and Blue nodded.
“oh i'm just teasing him, cause I love him.”
“Thank you!” Blue said, smiling.
“frisk has there ever been a timeline in which the annoying dog didn't take the legendary artifact and if it wasn't taken what does the artifact do”
“I have never gotten the artifact.” Frisk said, Papyrus and Sans coming into view.
“to error how much exp did ink get you?”
“Quite a bit. The number escapes me, but it was in the hundreds.” Error said, swinging.
“flowey at the end of the pacifist timeline you decide to give up the souls and break barrier once the barrier was broken you could have easily murdered more humans and get to be a goat again so why kill a few for their souls?”
“Timelines never last that long, and when I turn back, it leaves an impact on me that makes it hard to be a jerk for a while. Residual effects of being that whiny crybaby.” Flowey said, “And it wouldn’t change anything.” Flowey said, wilting a bit.
“Fresh, tell me about your furby collection? I miss mine. I had 3, they always said they were hungry last at night when I was falling asleep... it was kinda creepy.”
“I have a version of every Furby ever made. 3 is pathetic yo. Though they are demanding and creepy sometimes, I’ll give ya that brah.” Fresh said, looking around as snow fell around him.
“What are you guys doing to find Error's origin anyway?”
“We were going to ask the creators what they knew, since none of Killer, Dust, or Horror’s code could help us and Error’s code is a mess on account of him being a glitch, then we’d go from there, asking questions and making guesses based on what we knew.” Nightmare said, “For all we know Error could be from one of the many neutral timelines, and that wouldn’t pin anything down at all.” Nightmare said.
“Blue, how do you hide your glitches? That seems like a very hard thing to explain to people you don't want knowing about the multiverse.”
“Dream made a small illusion charm with Sci and Alt’s help that makes me look normal. It’s also pretty!” Blue said as he held up a golden charm in the shape of a blueberry, it was attached to a gold chain that was hidden by his battle body.
“Have the rest of the Sans seen Error in his glasses? I need to see them all squirm at how cute he is!”
“Only Blue and Classic have seen him in his glasses. Other than us of course.” Killer said, “I helped make the frames, and the way his eyes lit up when he could clearly see for the first time, it was the best feeling in the world. I remember taking care of Pap, it felt like that.” Killer said, and he smiled at the memory.
“How does Dream feel about being an uncle now? Is he a FUN Uncle?”
“I’m not really considered an uncle per say, but I do try to be fun. And it is fun to say that I am technically the Dark Sanses’ uncle, they have the funniest reactions.” Dream said, laughing.
“Error am I embarrassing you too much?”
“Yes.” Error said, still swinging.
(Tumblr, I need asks from you guys too.)

Lena isnt the only one who has killed people.
Soo this might be unpopular, but if people are going to harp on about Lena killing Lex id like to remind you of a few other instances you seem to have forgotten about:
1. Kara killed or rather ‘obliterated’ parasite. Parasite was actually the mutated version of an innocent man called Rudy who was taken over by a parasite that corrupted him. Kara made the decision to kill him. Now whether you agree if this was justified or not is up to you,  but the fact is KARA made the decision to KILL a dangerous monster that would have caused all manner of havoc and nearly killed Jonn. But remember that Rudy himself was an innocent.
2, Anyone remember when Alex killed Astra with a KRYPTONITE sword?! Alex didnt have to kill Astra, Astra hesitated when she said she would kill Jonn. Alex could have stabbed her anywhere, like literally anywhere and then Jonn could have gotten out of the way. Again, this is up to you if you think its justified or not. But its still someone being killed. Astra wanted to save Earth, she didnt go about it in the best way but she wasnt your typical bad guy out for themselves. Alex killed her to protect Jonn.
3. I dont know why this one is ignored so much since it happened so recently, but am i the only one who saw Jonn MURDER an unarmed Manchester Black because Manchester taunted him? No just me that saw this happen? Manchester made Jonn see his family and then a white martian, Jonn, a centuries year old alien who has been through some s**t allowed Manchester to get to him, he then morphed into his Martian form in a rage, disarmed Manchester and didnt even hesitate to run him through with that staff! In other words, Jonn disarmed a guy and murdered an unarmed man because he got pissed. This one unlike the others, doesn't actual have any justifiable reason!
4. Lena shoots Corbin, a man who had a GUN to Alex’s head, Kara is not faster than a gun touching Alex’s head. Adam died as a result of the Harun El, but he made the decision to go ahead with that even after Lena told him no and to go home. Adam was not a child, or a ‘kid’ he was an adult who made an adult and well informed decision. It went to s**t and Lena refused to do it again even when she was told to by Col Haley. You can talk legal ethics and all that jazz, but the fact is the show hasn't got time for logistics, if it did half the show would be in question.  Lex, a man who previously committed mass murders, both before and actually within the court. He killed all his guards, he then attempted to destroy Argo City (a city thriving now because Lena managed to figure out how to make Harun El), he was literally only seconds before trying to kill Kara! Lena knows that the world wont be safe with Lex in it so she makes the painful decision to shoot him.
7. Remember when Kara went in guns blazing to kill Reign? When she made the decision to kill Reign but f**ked it up so Mon El and Alura died? She had to turn back time so she could save them and change HER DECISION to kill Reign. Shame Lena didnt have a time travel option to undo her mistakes.
6. Does anyone remember when Jonn was so pissed to see a White Martian he put KRYPTONITE hand cuffs on Kara, he had to have been carrying around with him so she couldn't stop him from killing the white martian? Alex and Kara had to beg Jonn not to murder it while it was UNCONCIOUS! No? Just me that remembers this then. Lucky Jonn had Kara there eh?
7. Just a small one here, but does anyone remember when James, Winn and another CatCo employee were under the effects of Myriad and jumped off a building? Kara couldn't save all three, but she consciously chose to save James and Winn before that other woman. This isn't the same as her CHOOSING to kill Parasite, but Kara still made the decision to grab her friends first. This isnt necessarily a bad act, but it was Kara making a life and death decision for someone else in favor of two of her friends. We all know we would do the same, but that woman still died.
Sooo how is the only bad one here Lena? Lena kills the DC version of Hitler 2.0 to protect the world, like the others who have all killed someone. But apparently Lena  is evil incarnate? Lex deserved a fair trial? Just like Hitler did? Yeah... no! If you had the chance to kill Hitler you would of. Lena apparently is the only one who is held accountable when she is responsible for a death, but Alex, Jonn and Kara get off Scott free and those deaths are completely forgotten.
Kara wont ever forgive Lena for killing Lex or for the death of Adam? Well Kara was pissed at Jonn for a while because she thought he killed her aunt, someone she was related to and loved (so not the same as Lex) but when she found out that it was Alex, her own SISTER that killed Astra she was shocked for all of 5 seconds before she hugged Alex and reached out a hand to Jonn who had lied about it. Not sure Lena needs forgiveness from Kara for shooting HER brother anyway.
Kara was also completely fine with the fact that Lena shot Corbin to save Alex. She even used it as an example when she was defending Lena to the rest of the gang.
Adams death doesn't actually have bugger all to do with Kara even if she does find out.
Kara was shocked for all of 5 seconds when Jonn unnecessarily killed an unarmed Manchester Black. When they got back to the hospital that same day she told him he could still be a man of peace and wasnt arsed at all.
So Kara can forgive Alex for killing a member of her family, she can forgive Jonn for killing Manchester, she can forgive Lena for shooting Corbin who was trying to kill Alex, she can live with the fact she killed Parasite (with NO consequences and an apparent ‘no kill’ rule) and in an alternate time line attempted to kill Reign, but for some unexplained reason KARA wont be able to forgive Lena for shooting the insane, mass murdering, genocidal, psychopath who tried to kill her cousin, tried to kill her, tried to kill her best friend (Lena) had her other friend (James) shot, and attempted genocide again on Argo City that would have killed Kara’s mother and the rest of her race? Yeah..... I see some double standards going on here.
For the record, Lena doesn't need Kara’s forgiveness for the deaths of Lex and Adam. If she faced consequences for those she would be the ONLY one out of all the above to face consequences for killing people. Its lucky that Jonn had Kara around to talk him out of killing the martian, didnt seem to remember that little talk when it came down to Manchester, and Kara didn't seem to remember it either. Its a shame Lena didn't have her best friend to talk her out of killing Lex, but that another story.
In conclusion, Lena is NOT the only one on this show who has killed/murdered someone. I honesty believe its just because people are looking at Lena expecting bad things to happen, or they hate her and they see nothing but bad things. But the others are all the ‘designated’ heroes so any murder or death they cause is absolutely fine, justifiable and instantly forgotten. They never face any consequences for their actions. Jonn was a civilian who killed another civilian, if Kara was actually doing her ‘JOB’ she should have taken him to the police station/DEO like she does anybody else. But again, logistics.
For the record, im not saying there weren't reasons for all these deaths, or the above characters are bad, im just stating that it isnt all black and white and they aren't any better than Lena in these cases .
Whether or not what Lena did was right or wrong, the others have essentially done the same or had to be prevented from doing the same. Lena unfortunately didn't have a bestie super to talk her out of it, or the option of time travel to fix it.
Oh and one last thing in response to “Lena HAD Kryptonite!”
1. Alex shot her SISTER out of the sky with Kryptonite.
2. Jonn carried around a Kryptonite knife he ‘really liked’ and was disappointed when Kara the kryptonian didnt bring it back with her after a fight??
3. Jonn had Kryptonite cuffs he brought to a fight with him purely so he could use them on Kara so she could stop him from killing an unconscious alien.
Rant over.
As always, discussion welcome, abuse not so much :-)

i’ve committed to my format with raphael!crowley and i’ll die with it, too. AND IM SORRY ITS SO LONG.
(also the show uses he/him pronouns for michael, i believe, and i’ve chosen to do so as well bc i think its neat)
((ALSO, if you have no idea what the context is for this post, its a semi-continuation of this series))
sometimes, there is a gap. gabriel will turn to express a half-thought, and find himself wondering who he meant to speak with. there’s no one there.
three facts have remained for six thousand years: the first maintains that a brother is a brother. the second that a traitor is a traitor. and the third fact concludes that only one of those things may become the other. there is no place for traitors in heaven. and there is no merit in dwelling on thoughts of what is no longer possible.
gabriel likes efficiency--advancements that break no mould. he is the safest bet in any given room. protocol and principles, that’s what he’s made of, and he sticks to them rigidly because it’s... easy. easy as a miracle from the human’s point of view. to break ranks is to break through the mission statement of heaven into a gray area, and the walls upstairs are always freshly painted white. gabriel makes sure of it.
michael likes results. there is nothing more beautiful than a bottom line. bottom line: the world ends. bottom line: the angels win. bottom line: god no longer does the heavy lifting the way angels do, and so what the angel’s do in god’s absence is not to be held against them. they were, after all, stepping into a job they were not qualified to handle with little to no notice. a bottom line is beautiful because it makes simple a messy world.
bottom line: there is mess. bottom line: angels remove the mess.
bottom line: raphael would have complicated that.
no, michael does not miss his fallen sibling. and he refuses to talk about it. and he makes sure that gabriel does not talk about it, either. after all, what is there to talk about? what’s done is done, and they’ve got their hands full juggling someone else’s job, but if they don’t do it, then it isn’t done, and the world ends the bad way. where no one wins because they’re all dead.
gabriel is the leader. michael is the strategist. between them, they can scrounge enough brain power together to cover for raphael, who was meant to be the creative one.
too creative. creative enough to start... asking questions.
too feeling, always too feeling. “passionate” they used to call him. but then what happened, happened, and “passionate” became a roadside cliff in need of a guard rail. michael and gabriel were that guard rail. their fallen sibling was a cautionary tale.
the thing about falling is that sometimes you see it coming, and sometimes it blindsides you. lucifer’s was not a slippery slope, but a gradual and palpable decline. for years before, whenever he’d walk out of a room, the angels left inside would put their heads together and mutter about what’s the almighty going to do about that one. raphael’s, on the other hand, was blink-and-you-miss-it. he was here one day, gone the next. there wasn’t even the time to think about whether you wanted to say goodbye.
(if he decided to be a traitor, after all, then you needn’t regard him as a brother.)
and time went on. despite the shock, the world kept turning, and the stars kept burning, and nobody said raphael’s name. not for six thousand years.
it was hard to keep up with new demons. bad enough having to encourage every baby-faced cherub day-to-day (but not too hard, otherwise they ran the risk of becoming “passionate.” passionate didn’t matter. just loyalty. loyalty keeps heaven heaven.) the first time gabriel hears the name “crowley” he thinks nothing of it.
“a demon?” he asks sandalphon. “check and see who’s available, sort of... low and on the same level. no need to exert the effort of someone actually important on a simple demon.”
sandalphon agrees easily and makes to depart, but gabriel sticks up a hand, thoughtful. hold on.
“aziraphale,” he says. “he’s on earth, isn’t he? have him take care of it. perfect busy work for someone so eager to please.”
sandalphon smiles gold.
meanwhile, michael? michael doesn’t even remember. deleted the name from his mind the second it first entered. unimportant. bottom line: demon.
but after the armageddon that never was, the name finally sticks. and no matter what michael might have said at that demon’s trial, there is nothing more dangerous than an unchecked enemy. he keeps an eye out. and for awhile, there’s nothing out of the ordinary. just a never-was-an-angel and a soon-to-be-demon spending too much time together on a planet that was never theirs.
bottom line: ?
so michael goes to gabriel for help.
“i need to understand what happened between these two,” he says. “make some sense of it. find out how dangerous they really are.”
and gabriel turns to the left, and frowns in thought, like he is surprised to find no one there.
“gabriel?”
“it’s nothing. just a passing... are you sure there is cause for concern? they’re two outcasts. nothing more. no threat to us.”
“i would like to... speak with them.”
“then speak we shall.”
they arrive on earth. it is easy to find aziraphale because he never left the bookshop.
“hold on,” gabriel cautions as they approach the door. the sign says closed. there’s an intimidation as hot as hellfire emanating from it.
“do not let them see your cowardice,” michael chides, and pushes through. bottom line: answers are needed.
the door creaks and cuts off two voices. and two figures appear.
“oh!” says crowley, glancing sideways at aziraphale. “look at that. the gang’s all here.”
aziraphale looks momentarily stunned, which only makes michael’s brain fight harder to understand. he pushes forward.
“crowley. aziraphale.”
aziraphale bristles. “i do believe the sign said closed.”
“we are not here to indulge your human fantasy. we have come to--”
“ask for the towel back?” crowley interrupts. “no good. it’s long gone. i’ll pay for another one. do you take updog currency?”
“what’s updog?” gabriel asks.
“nothing, but i do deserve a high five for that one.”
“not now, dear,” aziraphale whispers to him.
crowley squares his shoulders, glaring through the two archangels. “right, straight to business then. we don’t care why you came. leave now, and we might let you go alive.”
aziraphale begins to react in astonishment, but michael and gabriel beat him to it.
“you should not threaten angels so easily,” gabriel says.
“i’ll do what i want,” says crowley. “fair’s fair, right? i’m just dishing it out as good as i get. doing as you do.”
“crowley,” aziraphale protests.
“where do you get the nerve?” michael all but growls.
“oh, probably from my time in heaven.”
if anyone else in the room were the snake, there would have been hissing. “don’t invoke that holy place,” gabriel says.
“you lost the privilege,” says michael.
“geez!” crowley throws up his hands. “if i didn’t know any better, i’d say this was personal! come on, are we going to forget the past that easily?”
“you have no past.”
“you are forgotten.”
“you’d think we three grew up with me hogging the telly, eh?” crowley asks aziraphale, the same way a zookeeper teaching schoolchildren might ask an obvious question to a turtle.
and michael and gabriel are blindsided.
“oh.” crowley tilts his head. “you really didn’t know. funny, that. almost.”
“it can’t be,” says gabriel.
“impossible,” says michael.
“hello,” says crowley, twirling five fingers, and then settling on showing them just one.
“demon,” says michael.
“oh, yes!” says crowley.
“but also,” says gabriel.
“oh yes...” crowley finishes.
he’s scowling now. darker. his anger crackles into lightning on the street outside, and black wings unfurl like looming shadows. michael and gabriel stare at them as though trying to discern something underneath. an origin to the stain, or a clean patch.
michael blinks first. bottom line: demon. he says, “you will not expect any special treatment from us.”
crowley shakes his head. “i was never special.”
(it may be that gabriel flinches at that. too long ago. too hard to tell.)
aziraphale, certainly, makes a noise at the back of his throat, but crowley shakes his head the slightest amount. an indication to let him handle this.
“you just can’t quit betraying your side, can you?” michael asks. “what did you hope to achieve? you are an abomination. you were cast out for a reason. and you will never be allowed back in.”
gabriel double-takes, but still says nothing. he looks like a man found on the side of the road with no memory of how he got there. lost. confused. aged.
“i don’t want that,” crowley says. “i’m better than that, now.”
“better than heaven? blasphemy,” michael chides.
“demon,” crowley replies.
and gabriel can no longer keep silent.
“you let me speak with you at the human airbase,” he says, agitated, his purple eyes glowing slightly. is he needing to keep his emotions at bay? what could he possibly feel for crowley? surely they were no longer each other’s kin. “we looked each other in the eyes, raphael.”
“crowley,” crowley and michael correct him at the same time.
gabriel looks appropriate aghast at himself. “crowley,” he amends, and then continues, “this is--i mean, you were--you are--this is just evidence of how far one may fall.”
“funny, i was about to say the same to you.”
“you have no authority to judge us!” michael says, seething. “do not forget your place. if you are not an angel now, you never were. not at heart. not truly. give me one good reason not to smite you where you stand.”
aziraphale steps in front of crowley, chin raised high, and says immediately, “i won’t let you.”
“angel, pl--”
crowley puts a gentle hand on aziraphale’s shoulder, but even that, aziraphale shrugs off.
“gabriel,” he says. “perhaps you can understand this. crowley has changed, yes. he is no longer an angel.”
“he doesn’t feel love the way we do,” michael interjects, and crowley’s head pokes out from behind aziraphale.
“when’s the last time you had a warm, fuzzy feeling, then?”
“michael, i believe i must depart,” gabriel says softly. he still looks like he’s been stranded inside a life that he does not call his.
michael says, “yes, do.”
and gabriel disappears.
aziraphale sighs and steps back at crowley’s side, holding crowley’s wrist tightly. crowley takes the hand and squeezes back.
“guess some people just can’t take the heat,” aziraphale mutters.
crowley shrugs. “well, you know what they say. if you can’t take the heat, stay out of the boiling sulphur pools. maybe he did what’s right by him. maybe seeing me just scared him a little too badly.”
“angels fear nothing,” says michael, even as his eyes hint toward something different. his jaw works. he takes a moment to control himself and then asks, “is this how you were able to withstand the holy water?”
aziraphale quietly snorts. crowley squeezes his hand again, this time in warning, and says, “you didn’t really think i was going to answer that one, did you? and might i remind you that all i asked that day was to be left alone.”
“you may think you still belong in this world,” says michael, shaking his head and glaring at their conjoined hands, “but you do not. and aziraphale, one day you will pay dearly for your choices. fear the future. for when that day comes, you, too, will be erased from heaven. anditcan’tcometoosoon.”
the breath rushes out of him, and michael, too, is gone.
the bookshop stands sturdy and proud. crowley swings up his and aziraphale’s hands, kissing the back of aziraphale’s, and loudly declares, “well, that was dramatic. weren’t we going to go and look at a cottage this afternoon, love?”

Thanks for Reading🖤
Tumblr media
The DEO is busy with Agents and IT personal scattering around. The latest attack had everyone on high Alert. In the Middle of it all, Maggie stands with Alex and Supergirl, looking at the Screen in Silence. A Picture of you was pulled up. A scared young child with a lost expression in her eyes, your baggy hospital gown making you look way to thin. You held up a sign that read: Subject 9473. Alex breaks the Silence.
"Brainy. Find Project Shockwave and tell me about it."
"I am not sure if we can access said File, Director Danvers. It seems to have been filled away as..Classified.”
"Then find a way, Agent Dox.", her order left no Room for argument.
Brainy ducked his head and works his fingers over the Tablet for a Few Seconds, just like that, the File showes up on the Screen. He starts rattling of the Details.
"Project Shockwave. A Cadmus experimental trial which had its Participants, from an unknown Planet of Origin, compete against each other to test their Strength and Stamina. The goal of the Program was to understand and then Convert the Subjects Abilities as a use for an never exhausting Power Source, meant for all Electronical Devices. Ultimately, the creation of Weapons with electricity currents, that would be stronger than any Man made machine, would come to be. Although, it looks like the Test Subjects were unable to meet the criteria in all but one cases and deceased shortly after Initiation of the Program. The dissection of the Subjects proved that...-"
"Okay. We get it." Maggie cuts him off, having heard enough.
"What about Y/N?"
Brainy lookes at her confused. She cleares her throat and shifts uncomfortably.
"Subject..9473?", she clarifies.
"Oh, yes. It looks like this Test Subjects was brought into the Programm as a young Child and was monitored and tested throughout Adolescence. Said Subject is known to Produce large amounts of Energy, which were successfully converted into Electricity. With excessive testing and training, the subject was later able to change it's monocular structure and Teleporte through any Electrical current. For safety reason, the Subject was held in Isolation. Held in a Glass Cell, surrounded by Water as it was one of the few ways to disciple the Subject. Power blocked devices were placed around it's Wrists at all times. Furthermore,..-"
"That's Enough. Thank you.", Alex cut him off this time, starting to feel sick to her stomach.
They hade somewhat of an Idea of what had happened to you, but were never able to get the full story. You had refused to tell all of it and they decided to stop pushing.
"Get the Alpha Team ready. We are moving out."
Without spearing another glance, Alex turned around and headed for the Armory. Supergirl close on her toes, determination strong in her features.
"Danvers! Wait." Maggie caught up with a few quick steps.
"Where do you think you’re going?"
She whipped around quickly and looked at her Finance.
"I'm going to do what I should have done a long time ago! I'm taking down Cadmus and then finding Y/N."
She made a move to leave again, when Maggie grabbed her Arm.
"Wow. Hey, Stop. You don't even have a Plan or any Clue on where to start. Let's think this through!"
Alex started getting irritated.
"No! Listen, Sawyer. I don't care! All they do is hurt People and use them for their own gain. I'm so sick of it! This ends tonight!"
Emotions were running high and Maggie matched her frustration.
"There is no point in running in there blind! You are going to get yourself hurt! Lets take a step back. I know you’re angry..-"
"I'm not Angry, Maggie! Im furious! They hurt the People I care about! Y/N is out there alone right now and probably terrified! If you would've just..-"
Maggie let go of the Brunettes arm and looked at her with raised Eyebrows.
"If I would have what, Danvers?"
"If you would have just stayed behind with her! Like I told you to!" Alex was close to shouting at this point and heavy Silence followed her Outburst.
Immediately, Alex felt guilty as the hurt expression crossed over her Lovers Face. She avoided her eyes in Shame and continued in a low voice.
"I'm Sorry. No, this is not your fault in any way. Its Just..If I would've been better and faster and paid more attention to her. I'm supposed to be the Director. I'm supposed to know these things. This is on me. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to let my anger out on you."
Maggies facial expression softened and she pulled Alex to the side when she saw her eyes starting to water.
"Hey, Alex. This is not anybodies fault, especially not yours. We will get her back and we will get justice, but not like this. I can't lose you too. Please."
Alex looked up now and stepped closer to Maggie, almost whispering the next words.
"I know you’re right..I'm just.. I'm scared''
Maggie tilted her head to the side, flashing her Dimples with a sad smile.
"I know, Babe. Me too."
--
It's been two Days since the Attack and two Days of you being back on the streets. You had not eaten or slept. You were constantly looking over your shoulder, frightened by every small noise. Using you Powers after such a long time had taken a lot out of you, but you couldn't afford to rest just yet and debating your next steps wasn't an easy task. Your brain was telling you to get out of town, leave this Place behind and find somewhere far away where they wouldn't be able to get to you. But there was a tightness in your chest, a hollow feeling creeped through your veins at the thought of leaving this City behind. You had never felt this before, like there was something that had made you want to hold on. You let out a sigh at the realization of how much you missed them. That's what this Felling was. You wanted nothing more than to go back Home and cry in their Arms and never leave their sides again, but that would be too dangerous. What if Cadmus found you there or worst yet, punish them for helping you? You had never felt this torn, because for the first Time since you could remember, you felt like there was something worth fighting for, like you had a chance at a happy and normal Life. Letting to ine good thing in your Life go just seemed like something you couldn't handle. The Rain was coming down heavy and you were trying to find cover in some Alleyway. Just as you were rounding the corner you saw a Tall Man towering over a frightened Young Woman. He was yelling at her.
"Give me your Purse! Now!"
She handed it over and you saw a Knife clutched in his fist, as he went through her Stuff. For a split second you wanted to turn around and just walk away, but that's not what Maggie and Alex would do. They are Heroes and they help People, so you should do the same.
"Hey!", you yelled and started to run towards the Guy.
He turned around just in time to see your eyes start to glow and Electricity forming in your Hands. He looked at you wide eyed, dropped the Purse and ran in the other Direction. You came to a stop in front of the scared woman, not thinking it was worth it to chase after the Guy. When you bent down to gather her Belongings and hand them back to her, you suddenly heard a voice yell behind you.
"NCPD! Freeze!"
You stoop up and turned around with the Purse in your Hand, this was bad.
"No!" You looked at the Officer with a shocked expression, understanding what this must look like.
You still had the woman's Purse in a tight grip and your eyes where glowing a pale blue, sparks still running along your finger tips.
"I'm helping!" You yelled back through the Rain.
The gun remained pointed in your direction so you turned and looked at the Lady, pleading with your eyes to back up your story, but all she did was stare at you in Horror.
"Keep those arms up!", the wavering Voice of the Officer made you turn your Head back around.
"I'm going to come over there an put these cuffs on you!" He reached behind him and pulled out a heavy set of cuffs.
You knew those and knew they would dampen your Powers.
"Please! Listen me..-"
"No! Just keep you Mouth Shut and no sudden Movements or I WILL shoot!", He mostly kept his composure, but it wasn't hard to tell that he was new and probably just as nervous and scared as you were right now.
You choose to not push any further, you could see this going sideways. The Cop slowly walked over to you, gun still raised and pointed forward, the Rain around you making it hard to see. The Lady standing off to your side finally seemed to snap back into her surrounding. She made a move forward and tried to make the Officer understand that this was all one big Misunderstanding. The sudden movement startled you enough to look around and put one arm out to let her know you had it handled. The next part happened so fast, you are not even sure it happened at all.
"I said don't move!" thats the last thing you heard before the deafening sound of a gun shot rang through the Allyway. The familiar sensation of Pain ran up your Leg, before the ground came up to meet you.
--
"Sawyer?" Maggies voice came out raspy and heavy with sleep.
They had been up for the most part of the last couple days. Looking for you and for a way to take down Cadmus and get you back safely. It was around 3 am now and they had just fallen asleep on the couch, surrounded by research and anything else that could help them.
"What?" She was standing just half a second later.
Fully awake now as Alex was slowly opening her eyes.
"Where is she?!" She raised her voice and Alex was at her side this time around already, trying her best at listening in on the Phone Call.
"What?? What do you mean she..- You know what! Nevermind We'll be there in 15min."
She hung up her Phone and walked over to the Front Door, where Alex was already putting on her shoes.
"Who was that? Where is she? Is she ok?"
She asked as she handed her Finance her coat.
"That was my work." Alex was just as confused as Maggie now.
"She's at the NCPD extraterrestrial Holding Cells."
They both shared a look and rushed out the Door, everything else forgotten.
--
You sit on one of the benches inside a small basement Cell. Your hands still locked in those awful Handcuffs behind your back. The bullet had only grazed your leg and it bleed a little bit, but they had wrapped it up with some gauze and had you sit down and wait for...you don't really know what you were waiting for. All you know is you were cold. You still had your clothes on which were damp from the rain and stuck to your body in an uncomfortable way. This was not how you thought this Night would have gone. Suddenly, a familiar voice cuts you out of your thoughts and you perk up to see where its coming from, your heart suddenly racing. It sounded like the quick steps were coming from just around the Corner.
"Where is that Rookie?! He freaking SHOOT her?? What the Hell is going on here?"
The Officer who had fired at you stood up from his Chair outside the Cell where he was watching up. You heard him gulp as he straightens up and braces himself.
"Please. Detective, we need you to calm down."
They were getting closer.
"Don't tell me to calm down right now! Just get me to her!"
You looked up just as they rounded the corner and your eyes immediately lock with Maggies, which made her she stop in her tracks. Alex was close behind her and you heard her sigh in Relief, when she saw you sitting there. The world stopped for a second as the three of you just stared at each other.
"Open the Cell.", Maggies voice came out calmer, but still not with the same amount of Compassion it usually carries.
"I'm sorry Detective. There are protocols. She's dangerous and I can't just..-"
The Rookies next words were cut off by him being slammed against the Wall behind him. He had at least half a foot on Maggie, but she was still holding him against the Wall, her Forearm pressed against his throat.
"Listen Buddy! You are going to open this Cell for me. Right. Now." Her voice was low and dangerous, there is fire in her eyes.
"I suggest you don't say another Word. I'm not even close to being done dealing with you for shooting at my kid! You don't even want to know what you got coming if you don't open this damn Door!"
She let go of him and he looked at her with wide eyes, too scared to even move.
"NOW!"
He stuttered out a quick 'Yes Ma'am' before stumbeling over to the Door and fumbling to unlock it. The second it was open, Alex rushed inside and wrapped you in her arms.
"Oh my god! Y/N! I'm so sorry! I should've look after you better! I'm so glad you're alright!" She pulled back and held your face between her hands, forcing eye contacts as she clarified.
"You're alright, yes?" Hey eyes drifting to your wrapped leg.
You nod and can't help but lean into her touch. You close your eyes and smile a little. You never thought you'd ever miss another's Persons touch, but you sure had.
"What happened Y/N? Why didn't you come back?", Her voice sounded hurt and you tried to sit up and reassure her, but the cuffs made moving around hard.
"Take them off." Maggie was standing slightly behind Alex and had her arms crossed over her chest.
She had barely finished her sentence when the Rookie came over and had you unlocked. Alex now gave you a proper Hug and you could feel the love and worry radiating off her. You looked over her shoulder and locked eyes with Maggie, dread made it's way into your stomach when you weren't able to read her expression.
"Give us some Space." She instructed without breaking your eye contact.
The Rookie and other Officer, that had led them down there, were out ther so quickly, you were sure they were the ones with Power. Maggie finally seemed to Relax. Alex let you go and started to examine your Leg, not caring about the protest that you were giving. It was silent for far to long for your liking and you started to get anxious. A single Light bulb was hanging from the ceiling of the Cell, it flickered and your eyes shot over to it. For a split second, you thought about just zooming out of there.
"Don't." Maggies voice was still sharp, but also soft and it held no venom, like it had with her Colleges.
You turned your head in her direction, ashamed that she knew what you were thinking of.
"You hate me now?" It was meant as a question, but came out more like a statement.
"No! Y/N..That's not." The detective let out a heavy sigh and moved closer to you, kneeling down to be eye level and put her hand on your thigh.
"I'm just worried. You were gone and we had no Idea where you were or if you were Okay."
Alex looked up from where she was making sure your Leg was fine and the bleeding was controlled.
"We were so worried about you.", she added to the conversation.
"I'm sorry. Had to leave. Too Dangerous for you." You look at them with watery eyes, the events from the last couple Days finaly catching up with you.
"I'm....My Powers", you almost spat that word, hating what it made you.
"My Powers are Bad, like me. I'm Bad Person", it came out broken and just above a whisper.
There was no need to hide anything from the two of them anyways, they would always know.
"No! Hey..Don't say that Y/N!" Maggie picked up your Chin and made you look at her.
"You are not Bad. You are one of the smartest, funniest and kidest People I’ve ever meet! Even after everything this World has done to you, you still give it so much Love. Its amazing to witness and be a part of. You are good, you have a good Heart. Just because you have these gifts, doesn't mean you are bad."
Alex was holding your Hand and nodding along with what Maggie was saying.
"She's right. For the short amount of time I was lucky enough to have you in my Life, you have only made it brighter."
Tears were making their way down your Face.
"You mean it?"
"Yes. Of course we do. And Y/N..It's okay to be scared sometimes, but you don't have to run anymore. You don’t have to be guarded. I was scared too when you were gone, but as long as we all stay together, we’ll be fine. I promise you. Forever."
---
You guys had finally made it home. You were unsure if you should've gone with them at first, but that was out of the question for them. Some more protest followed as Alex stitches up your Leg and you were now laying half on Top of her and fast asleep on the couch. She was playing with your Hair and was softly soothing you everytime you flinched our let out a whimper in your sleep. A comfortable silence was in the Air.
"So...", Alex looked up at Maggie with a knowing smirk, her hand never stopping the soft motions over your head.
The brunette was sitting at your Feet and was Knee deep in Files that was spread out across the Table. They still had to find a way to stop Cadmus.
"What, Danvers?" She didn't have to look up, to know exactly what Alex was playing at.
"Your kid, huh?" Maggie stopped writing and put down her Pen to look at the two of you.
Her features immediately softening at the sight. The quick, witty comeback dying on her lips, as she took in the scene in front of her. This was Perfect and everything she never knew she wanted.
"Yeah.” She reached over you and grabbed Alex hand, letting the Moment take over, nothing but love in her eyes.
“She’s ours.”
Alex gave her Hand a soft Kiss and looked down at your sleeping face and nodded.
"She sure is."
A frown took over her Face, thinking of what they were facing next.
"What if they take her?”
"Hey. No, don't worry. They won't. I will fight with everything I have for our Family. I know you will do the same."
Maggie made sure her Tone showed Alex how serious she was about this.
"Yes. I’m oing to be right there next to you.”
Alex whispered as she moved some stray hairs from your exhausted Face.

Forever begins with a battle and graduation!
Tumblr media
AN: my 3rd entry for the lovely @icantlivewithyou for her 800 followers challenge! i hope part 2 satisfies your rollercoaster story cravings! this also contains some research from the final movie/internet... plus im not sure but i might not be done with this yet... sorry about another rollercoaster of emotion and what not...
Prompt #18 “we can get through this, it doesn’t need to end like this.”
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x reader
Summery: nothing...
Masterlist     part 1
this day, this the first last day of school, now made your first first day look like a piece of cake... this was the start of the great battle of hogwarts...
Now being newly engaged should never turn into a war with your in-laws right... wrong... that wasnt the case with Draco’s father... apparently getting engaged was never apart of the plan for Draco.
Lucius: “draco, are you seriously gonna marry this brat... you can’t tarnish the family name just for the sake of marrying your soulmate... i wasnt supposed to marry your mother but yet we are what we are... now are you gonna really embarass us in front of the dark lord...”
Draco standing by your side both of you with the wands ready froze when he said the dark lord...
Draco: “he who must not be named is coming here...”
Lucius: “thats right he is actually dealling with your headmaster as we speak... i came here to grab you and make you come with us and help us destroy this pathetic school and rebuild it just for pure blooded wizards... but if your not with us then you shall die as well...”
Mcgonigal: “lift your wands students cast every single attack spell you know... older students help the younger ones... keep the school safe... Yn, Draco, Harry, ron & Hermione let me and the other professors deal with these bozos you 5 please go help the headmaster and anyone whose with him...”
you your fiance and your friends all popped off to the boarder to see the power struggle between Dumbldore and Voldemort... Harry let off a loud whistle this was when the air filled with light and the order appeared along side you guys...
YN: “welcome thank you all for coming as quickly as you did... we are under attack people need help inside, we need help here... can you guys pick and choose who goes where and can some people also check the rest of the grounds... this is a strict destroy all death eaters thing... we want none of them to be here at all send them all to azkaban...”
the order divided themselves... some going to the school, the rest staying with you guys...
Lupin: “what do we do?”
Draco: “we learned this in Defense against the dark arts, we have to disrupt the streams... the one thing thats forbidden to do...”
thats when it happened... thats when you all watched as the stream was broken by Voldemort changing his spell, this caught everyone especially Dumbledore off guard... for as quickly as dumbledore cast the spell, it hit Dumbledore and he fell down in death...
the lot of you watching this sent his body to the ministry with a fire message saying ‘Voldemort is responsible, Hogwarts is under attack. please send help.’
you lot now were the only things standing between Voldemort and the school...
Voldemort: “ I know that you are preparing to fight. Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me and hope to win. I want to kill you. I once had the great respect for the teachers of Hogwarts. I once did not want to spill magical blood but that will quickly change if i dont get what i want. Give me Harry Potter, and they shall not be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave the school untouched.”
YN: “has anyone ever told you that you talk too much...”
Draco: “i’ll never join your side baldy...”
Harry: “we will stand and fight to protect our friends, our family, our home, our school, to keep the light of good magic alive... for its within us that we call forth the magic within, its in everyone of us... we all have it, we all have access to it, we can use it to keep our hearts and spirits our light from never going out... now leave our school and never return or so help me we will all kill you... you kill our headmaster you want me, well then Tom lets finish this the way we started it together...”
Harry stepped forward and with his wand at the ready, when everyone went to follow him, he stopped you and turned to face everyone...
Harry: “i have to end this, it has to be me... i’m sorry but this started because i lived, because he didnt kill me. i wont let him kill everyone whose standing here just because he wants to kill me... please stay here and be ready in case i fail...”
Harry went in duel stance across from voldemort.. you huddled into Draco, you were scared this was the freakiest thing you had ever seen...
harry had been speculating for a while now about the Elder Wand, now with that residing in the hands of Voldemort as a show that he was the one who killed Dumbledore now Harry would get to see if his assumptions were correct...
Harry: “Expelliarmus...”
Voldemort: “Avada Kedarva...”
as soon as he cast his spell, Harry gave all who were around him the same message he had given to Lupin but a few years before: this was about ending bloodshed, not creating it...
voldemorts spell looked like it was working when it collided with Harry’s, they clashed for a while till Harry’s spell actually made Avada Kedarva knock back on itself... it went back and hit Voldemort killing him as expelliarmus brought the elderwand straight to harry.
Harry shortly after that collapsed from exhaustion...
You and Draco popped back to the school, half the students were scattered, the staff numbers had lowered, Snape was standing in a verse off with Mcgonigal, that moment Draco’s father and mother spotted the 2 of you... coming and standing across from both of you, it was your turn...
Lucius: “look Narcissa i told you that our son was betraying the family name by marrying some half wit who has no right to call herself a pureblood...”
Narcissa: “thats a pure blood brat, she wreaks of mud blood... she is no good for our son we must stop him from making the wrong choice Lucius...”
Lucius: “lets kill the little brat, but also our son if he stands in our way...”
Narcissa: “after you my dear husband...”
Narcissa standing before you as Lucius did Draco... before the duel began you slowed time for a few seconds to talk to your fiance...
YN: “we can get through this, it doesnt need to end like this...”
Draco: “it wont end like this, it will end with us growing old together...”
YN: “lets end this quickly...”
Draco: “as a team...”
YN: “i love you...”
Draco: “i love you too...”
both of you unfreezing time waiting for the battle to start... you chose your spell, Draco chose his spell, Narcissa and Lucius obviously chosen their spells... everyone was ready...
YN: “it was a shame i was looking forward to having a set of in-laws who would treat me as if i were their own should anything happen to my family... but i guess Draco was right, you guys only want what you guys want, you don’t care about what Draco wants, you dont care about anyone else’s needs but yours and voldemorts... well i got news for you Voldemorts no more..”
they stopped dead in their tracks...
Narcissa: “what did you say to me you insignificant little brat?”
thats of course when Draco pipped up too...
Draco: “thats right, Harry finished it as he said he would... the Elder wand that Voldemort took from Dumbledore after he killed him sent Voldemorts killing curse meant for Harry back at him... now its time for you 2 to leave...”
you cast your spell while they were distracted...
YN: “Diffindo”
aiming at Narcissa’s wand first, then again immediately after at Lucius’ cane...
the second you did that they both realized what happened...
Lucius: “you insolent little children... we should...”
thats when the order stepped beside you both... Lupin leading the bunch, no one backing down even though the wands of Draco’s parents were broken.
Lupin: “i R.J Lupin under the authority of the Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix hereby place Narcissa & Lucius Malfoy under arrest under the charges of assault, murder, attempted murder and so on and so forth... not to mention child abuse and hereby sentence you both be taken immediately to the minstry to stand trial for what you both have done...”
Lupin stands beside you and Draco as the rest of the order comes along side Narcissa and Lucius taking them away... Lupin turns to you and Draco...
Lupin: “i must know YN how did you learn that spell? it was never apart of the cirriculum here...”
YN: “summer reading, RJ. it was a hobby of mine to learn spells i found to be quite eventually helpful. household spells, etc but this was one spell i never thought i’d actually use... outside of shredding documents and other important recyclables...”
Lupin: “the order and im sure the ministry will expect a visit in the next little while from you 2... being that you both were main party in this entire scheme with this being your parents mr Malfoy... i strongly caution you both to stay here at the school till the ministry and the order has deemed everything safe... then we will call you guys in...”
Draco: “RJ you were YN’s favorite teacher, you taught her what she needs to know... but today before the fighting started i made a statement to the school and to YN...”
you held out your hand and showed it to RJ and any other order member around... congratulations started flowing again... but the school was still badly damaged...
RJ: “well well well, i hoped that you both would figure it out on your own... i hope the order as well as the ministry get invited to your wedding. i guess you both will want time to figure out the particulars as well as finish your final year at hogwarts...”
you and Draco pulled out your wands and watched as all the professors and students did too...
all together: “Reparo...”
---------------------------------------------
this was how the school got rebuilt... magic from every witch and wizard on the property... that and the belief that anything is possible... though damage still remained on the property, no amount of any spell or charm could mend the loss that the school had suffered...
once the school was running again the professors and some of the teachers listed you and Draco as their protege’s meaning when you graduated you both would be professors here...
the year was not without its hardships but the biggest event of the school year was coming fast only 3 months to go...
YN: “okay class its like Professor Mcgonigal always says if you listen to your pet, it will tell you things you could only ever dream about... before we end this lesson can anyone tell me why you must have a calm mind and a gentle wave of your wand when casting any type of transfiguration, spell or charm...”
a number of 3rd year students raised their hands, but you picked a young girl who was just staring at her cat...
YN: “how bout you staring at your little white cat... come on up here please...”
the girl came up to stand in front of you...
YN: “whats your name dear?”
Alice: “Alice...”
YN: “well alice do you know why you must keep a calm mind and a gentle wave when casting any type of charm transfiguration or spell...”
Alice: “cause it will help the spell to go as casted, or as its meant to be cast... it will also help your mind to push back the negativity...”
YN: “very good...”
you look toward the back of the room and see Draco leaning against the wall... you take in a nice deep breath and then turn back to the class...
YN: “for tomorrow i would like you all to bring in an object that means alot to you we will be transfiguring something we love into something we hold most dear to us... class dismissed... Alice would you talk with me for a moment or 2...”
Alice was one of your ravenclaws... you were surprised with how much she reminded you of you... you transfigured your cat back into a cat and she went immediately to the back of the class and jumped straight into Draco’s arms...
YN: “Alice, i just wanted to say, your doing very well with everything in your studies but i want to check in and see how your doing with preparing for your finals...”
Alice: “YN if i can level with you they are alot tougher to study for than i thought they would have been...”
YN: “do you have any study buddies that you can kinda put your heads together and bounce study ideas off of ...”
Alice: “not really alot of the ravenclaws dont even acknowledge that i exist...”
thats when Draco was in earshot, he was approaching the front of the room anyway so he chimed in...
Draco: “then look for children not from your house, that are in your classes that you can partner with to study... or we could even help you go over it... i mean thats if you cant find anyone but from what YN has told me, you are one of the brightest kids she has ever taught...”
You were very impressed with how well Draco handled himself... he was amazed that even though you only had 3 months left of being students at Hogwarts it would only be a matter of time before you both were back as professors...
YN: “exactly... and its true Alice, compared to alot of the others, you are one of my brightest students... now run along you mustn’t keep professor Snape waiting...”
Alice gave you a hug and fist bumped Draco as she ran out the door her cat trailing behind her..
Draco had put your cat on one of the nearby tables before he wrapped his arms round your waist...
Draco: “now i can greet my gorgeous fiance properly... hi...”
YN: “hi...”
thats when he kissed you, you were practically sitting on your desk at this point... but when the kiss broke he leaned his forehead against yours...
Draco: “ugh i wish it was skip day... cause we would go on a outing a stroll through hogsmede... get into some mischief...”
YN: “i know love but its not... unfortunately we have Defense against the dark arts now...”
Draco: “ugh why do they still feel the need to teach defensive spells and charms if you know who is gone...”
you shrugged but then both of you got a fire message... ‘meet outside the great hall in 2 minutes its urgent...’
both you and draco along with your cat left the room immediately for the landing outside the great hall... this was the confusing thing there wasnt really anything or anyone there...
your cat however thought differently... for she started hissing and growling at something...
Draco: “i hear footsteps... be wand ready just in case...”
there were footsteps now getting louder and louder... thats when Harry, Ron and Hermione all came bounding down the stairs...
Hermione: “thank god you guys got the fire message.”
YN: “ya we did whats wrong...”
Harry: “Defense against the dark arts is cancelled today... there was a strange attack we think you both should see this...”
you Draco Harry Ron and Hermione all go to the scene of the new crime...
this scene looked similar to the year 2 incident with the chamber of secrets and such... save for one thing.. there was blood coming off the victim... the sight horrified you, it almost made you and Draco toss your lunch...
as i said similar to the chamber of secrets incident except alot worse... there was also a blood written message on the wall as well...
‘the chamber of secrets isnt finished with you yet hogwarts... there are far worse secrets in each common area... figure out this riddle and you will have solved the greatest mystery hogwarts has ever known since the creation of the school...’
you guys spent the next little bit in every spare second between studying for finals and such trying to figure this out... you were in the library on your spare combing through every single word of that riddle...
it was several hours later that you finally figured something out... you discovered a truth...
YN: “of course thats it... secrets in each common area... meaning there is a secret hidden in the common room of each house...”
once you established a meaning, you gathered with the others and planned to corral each of the heads of houses and see if you guys with their permission figure out the riddle.
that is exactly what happened. for in each common room, revealed to be a series of underground tunnels leading to yet another hidden room. within this room stood a pedestal on this pedestal sat a small hole it looked to be fitting a ring...
on the pedestal scribed an inscription: in the name of magic we the 4 bare the product of friendship and love, we the 4 give our product of love.
great another riddle... now you were getting annoyed... after careful consideration it was clear that only 4 of you could go on, Ron decided to stay back for he could help much more at the school.
you, Draco, Hermione and Harry placed the ring on the pedestal that opened a stair case, this led into the room of requirement... this was where you guys had a huge part of your encounters with dark magic over the years at hogwarts...
you guys exited the room of requirement feeling astranged...
YN: “it was just a series of tunnels... damn it... oh well come on guys lets leave this be we have finals starting next week then graduation to prepare for... leave this alone for now.. we may have to reconveine with this at a later date but right now its not our biggest priority...”
everyone could agree on that... the next 2 weeks were spent in numerous study sessions... ones that usually ended with you, draco, harry, hermione and ron passed out in the library... this was how it went on, but the day before the finals, you guys decided to take a mental health day...
Draco: “well technically it is now skip day... have you gotten your dress and such yet?”
you had completely forgot about that...
YN: “oh shit no i havent... can we see if mcgonigal will let us leave...”
thats when you guys heard a voice pipe up from behind...
Minerva: “Draco, YN where do you think you would be going?”
YN: “professor i forgot to get my dress for graduation... please i need to have this next few hours to go into town and find one please... ill even take my fiance with me...”
Minerva popped out 2 off school passes for both you and Draco... both of you heading upstairs to get out of your uniforms meeting outside the revolving stairs...
Draco: “alright love lets go...”
you guys popped over to london square, the most popular spot for many a folk to shop and spend quality time... you and draco strolled hand in hand through many a shop looking for something that catches both of your eyes...
it was about 2 hours later when you both entered one of the expensive shops on the stretch...
Associate: “welcome may we help you?”
YN: “yes i need an evening gown... and im pretty sure my man here needs a suit..”
associate: “of course... let me show you both where you are to look... do you have kind of an idea of what your looking for...”
You and draco shook your heads...
Draco: “we will know once we see it...”
Draco began looking at suits, you however were going through dress by dress nothing was catching your eye, till you found one... it happened to be your size, you pulled it down and waved over the associate...
Associate: “would you like to try this on miss?”
YN: “yes please... Draco love wait by the mirror for me ill be right back...”
Draco waited by the mirror having found his suit which he got one size up incase of emergency... magical sewing and heming gotta love it... you were in the dressing room getting into the dress with the help of the associate...
Associate: “that looks so good on you, it also fits you perfectly... how does it feel?”
YN: “it feels amazing! i love it! lets go show my man!”
you and the associate walked out of the room and into the main space... Draco’s eyes landed on you immediately, his eyes saying everything...
Draco: “damn babe you look hot... like hot hot... we will take this dress and this suit...”
Associate: “of course just come to the counter when your ready...”
you and draco used magic waited a few moments for the camera’s to magically show you going to the dressing room, a 8 minute interval of Draco pacing round before you coming back out holding the dress...
you and draco came back to the front of the store, the associate smiled as Draco handed her a check he had written out while waiting for you... you both walked out of the store now having your attire for grad you were all set...
finals were a piece of cake... packing your stuff up not so much... lots of memories and stuff... but thats okay you would be back here soon you hoped...
graduation day arrived fairly quickly... this was when the bathrooms were never clear the day when the castle was a bustle and mustle with lights, music, speeches etc...
you and Draco both decided to use the shared prefect bathroom... to kind of have some alone time plus to talk, kind of make a plan for after graduation...
draco: “so after this we are going back to the apartment... like we did for christmas break except for permenant...”
YN: “yep... we also have to finish moving in all our shit and tell my parents about the engagement...”
Draco recalled christmas where you guys hadnt broken the news yet to your family...
Draco: “yes umm right we need to do that... well that will be a first for both of us...”
you put the bottom half of your dress on no problem but doing up the top half was tricky... so you yelled back to draco...
YN: “babe if i come out holding myself in place can you do up the top of my dress...”
Draco: “of course give me 2 seconds i just have to finish doing up my belt...”
you attached the built in bra on your halter to your boobs... holding it there you waited for Draco to say he was ready...
Draco: “back out slowly babe once you feel my hands on your back thats when you stop...”
you started backing out, that step count was about 10 before you felt Draco’s hands on your back... he did up your mid back first, then slowly planted kisses along your neckline doing your halter the rest of the way up.
standing in the mirror side by side you both looked at eachother... but the one thing you were yet to do was help Draco with his tie... Draco had waited for you before doing that so he could see that you were dressed first...
Draco: “babe this will be the night of nights... we are finally graduating... then our forever starts...”
YN: “you know we wont be leaving hogwarts permenantly if the professors decide to give us teaching positions here...”
Draco: “i know love, but at least we wont have to worry about anyone or anything coming after us...”
this was true, you guys didnt have to worry about anything... as you helped Draco finish getting ready his eyes had not left your own this was why you hoped your family were gonna accept Draco the same way the school now did...
you and draco now fully dressed, stood side by side...
YN: “do you think we are gonna have any trouble tonight...”
Draco: “we better not i mean it would be nice if we didnt...”
YN: “then we should get going the ceremonies are gonna start soon... we don’t want to be late for our own graduation!”
you and Draco walked out hand in hand towards the great hall. this was to be one of the finest hours in hogwarts history... or at least the history concerning your time at hogwarts.
you both emerged at the stairs before the hall... everyones eyes turned towards you both... your eyes on the people below as you both decended the stairs with grace and poise.
Hermione Harry and ron greet you at the bottom..
Hermione: “girl that dress is gorgeous...”
Tumblr media
you had to agree, Draco certainly had no objections to your dress, mind you, you had no objections to his suit either!
Tumblr media
YN: “thanks ive only owned it for a few hours.”
Harry: “we will be called in in a few moments McGonigal is just making a few introductory announcements...”
waiting a few moments you guys heard the following statement.
Minerva: “now students i present to you Hogwarts graduating class of 2019!”
hand in hand in rows of 2 you all entered... sitting in the seats at the front of the hall...
Minerva: “well done students, i am so very proud of you all, now i invite YN YLN to deliver the final address for the class of 2019!”
you got up and went up to the podium...
YN: “well guys we made it, through life challenges arise, its through those challenges that we grow, individually and together. with this crazy crew of people i couldnt be happier to be saying we made it guys, we made it through. this year brought many hardships and troubles... at the start of the school year, we arrived only to find that hogwarts was being attacked... we lost the greatest headmaster this school had ever seen that day, but the bonds formed then stay with us for the rest of our lives. today marks the beginning of the rest of our lives, today we graduate to find our futures set before us in many many ways. for me im gonna finish moving out of my parents place into my own place... then soon i shall be getting married to a man who makes my heart soar! we will be as happy in our future as we are now. but to the rest of my friends here i just want to say thank you, for the support and for the way you all stepped forward to support me when everyone else thought i would fail. learning is meant to be challenging, learning is also meant to be fun... today marks the beginning of the rest of our lives, if you have a plan i encourage you to follow it, if you have a dream i encourage you to chase it, if you have no plan or dream i encourage you to follow the little curves that life throws at you... lets live for today like its the last day of our lives!”
the room errupted with cheering and praise as you invited the minister of magic up...
cornielius: “very well put YN... now to the class of 2019 i present your diplomas... but before i send you your diplomas i have a few things to award... if YN, Draco Malfoy, and Harry potter could come up here please!”
you were already half way back to your seat, but decided to walk back up the stage with Harry and Draco.. you all stood before the minister and ever so poiltely smiled...
Cornielius: “there is sometimes one in every class but this year there are 3. this first position is for my Harry James Potter, harry my boy i am extending to you a full position at the ministry with me!”
Harry held out his hands and recieved a piece of paper with the terms and conditions of his employment.
Cornielius: “Draco Malfoy i extend to you the position of teaching defense against the dark arts next year at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry...”
Draco held his hands out to recieve his teaching certificate...
Cornielius: “YN in all my years as minister ive never seen anyone stand up for what they believe in so strongly, which is why as of right now you also are gonna be teaching at Hogwarts too... Minerva needs someone to take over her class while she becomes headmistress of hogwarts.”
a teaching certificate came into your hands as well.. then the minister waved his hands and diplomas flew into the entire graduating classes hands... the party after that was a blast, if only you could remember half of it...
~ps... wont be able to put out part three for 10 days im away with my family! but feel freee to reblog and share with your friends. also hit me up in messages if you wanna chat!~

i have been working on social media au on and off for a couple months now but uh regretfully it’s not very productive work??? just mainly editing and formatting some of the contents and adding and removing others bc i couldn’t decide or change my mind on some things so i didn’t make any real progress toward the end goal :S. it’s in a standstill and i dont know how to move it forward.
i took a couple of days off to think about it and why im in such a huge slump over it. i soon realized it’s me and not the fic. there a bunch of annoyingly complex things i have to juggle within the fic but im pretty sure i can grind my way through it and frustration is a great fuel for me lol. my main issue is myself bc of crippling self doubt and anxiety and how i can’t imagine finishing up this ch for some reason. it’s like i have some sort of mental block bc everytime seeing it done i get really anxious and scared and i immediately find reason to not work on it at this second.
like, im sooo incredibly grateful and humble by how the first chapter is received by the fandom!!! you guys have been so kind and encouraging to me and im so very thankful to each one of you but with such kindness i feel so much guilt and anxiety bc it’s almost half a year since it first posted and so many ppl tell me one of the biggest selling points of social media au is its unorthodox storytelling, formatting, and portrayal of fandom and i just dont know how i can top what i did for ch 1. like, how can i supposed live up to all your expectations??? i feel like i set myself up for failure and with such a long waiting period in b/t idk if im able to deliver ch 2 the way everyone kind of expect to be blown away by it also?????? i keeping thinking and worrying if ch2 will be good enough and honestly it was stressing me out and i didn’t want to work on it bc i was afraid it wasn’t going to be live up to the hype :(((.
i tend to overthink and worry myself until im a mess of anxiety and stress esp combine that with my doormat personality, i just dont know how to stop the urge to please everyone bc my eternal fear of disappointing people. esp knowing how well received  ‘demolition boy’ was. it blew up unexpectedly and i never really intend it to get as big it did /o\. i lit wrote it in like 2-3 days w/o much of a thought and now it’s my most popular fic and it often get drawn in comparision to social media au and how l social media au is like a more well polished and deeper fic and that’s great but also OH GOD. i can’t do better than that!!!!!! ah, it sucks and i couldn’t just break that that kind of metal block so i avoided writing social media as much as possible. im terribly sorry for that!!!!!! i do want to work on it and see it to completion more than anything but i just got really scared by it and how ch2 might just be a huge fucking fail. so i just sat on it for a while and let my anxiety eat away at me.
it took me some time and some soul searching but i slowly worked through my brittle nerves and fear. i had to tell myself that it isn’t my job to make everyone happy but MYSELF. writing is always and will always be FOR ME. everyone else, while im grateful for the audience, is just a bonus. no matter how popular a fic get, no matter how many people like it, at the end of the day if a fic doesn’t make me happy writing it than there’s no point. i love social media, i love how it drives me up the fucking wall and make me want to pull my hair out every single time, and it’s soooooo incredibly frustrating but also rewarding as fuck when i pull back and see what i had completed. to me it’s great story and i want to not just tell it but show it to you guys and i just need to shut up that fucking NAGGING VOICE IN MY HEAD that tell me all the wrong things. so im trying and working through my fears; it’s slow but i’m getting to the point where i can open up my ao3 draft folder and look at it and know ‘yes, i can do this now’.
right now, off the bat w/ my knowledge of what still need to be done and how much whinging i have to do to get it there, i am like 30% confident i can pull off finishing social media au at the end of this month. the estimate is going to go up and down in the next couple of days as i work on it and hopefully one day it would say 100%.
my goal is to have it done either by end of march or beginning of april but hopefully end of march. i think it’s doable but then again i think everything doable up to the point where i actually have to sit down and punch it out /o\.  beside my two bkdk fic fests projects, this is the only project i will be working on in the next couple of days (or weeks) so please be bare with me a lil more as i try to complete ch 2.
the next two-three-four(???) weeks is going to be v v v v tough for me bc i will scream, cry, and rage about quitting and never writing it again but im like 99% sure i won’t mean any of it lol /o\. if seeing me like pulling an allnighter to finish up ch1 was bad then the end of march is going to be a trial with every step. we’re doing this and it’s going to be end in tears BUT THE GOOD KIND (i think)!!!!!! tmr, i’m off so let’s GET TO IT!!!!!!
p.s. thank you for always putting up with me!!!!!! i know im incredibly flighty, emotionally compromised, and difficult as a writer to follow but your support and encouragement had helped put down some of my insecurities to rest and im forever grateful for that.

Chapter Six: Flashback, one of two, and also Maya’s in it
[Beginning] [Chapter Masterlist]
“Hey, Chief, question: so murder’s murder even if it’s one of the Fair F -- the fae, who’s murdered.”
“Murder is murder when a person is killed, accounting for manslaughter, accidental death, and the like -- honestly, Phoenix, you just think a person doesn’t count?”
“No! I mean, like… It just surprises me, is all, that you would let a human court arbitrate it and not just…”
“Revenge ourselves on the suspected killer with our magics in our home realm?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s always a possibility -- but it’s far too messy. That sort of thing tends to drag others who are far outside of the disagreement into the fighting, by way of networks of alliances, and before you know it there’s a full war that began because of a stupid crime of passion in a human bar. Some time before me, our Courts decided that humans and your courts and laws are the closest to fair, neutral judgment available, and that we would abide by their verdicts. Oh, certainly humanity was not consulted, but it is to your benefit to investigate the killings of fae, so as the allies of the deceased will not strike a curse down on all who were in the vicinity. And besides, you don’t think that, if humanity agreed that fae deaths won’t be tried, that rule wouldn’t be abused? That any man might claim his neighbor was one of the Fair Folk and killing him does not ‘count’ -- that any mother might throw her child in a fire because it acted just the slightest bit strange and claim that its life was forfeit on her suspicion?”
“You say that humans are fair and then list out all that. Neutral, with our lying and biases and stupid foolhardy impulsive actions--”
“Other than lies, we have the same faults, but so often magnified. We are impulsive and petty and cruel, with bias bred into our bloodlines -- it is an imperfect decision, as we are imperfect, as you are imperfect, as I have found even your laws to be. We make do with our best. It is all we have, in the end.”
-
A cold iron stake through the heart will kill anyone, not just one of the fae.
The same, Phoenix thinks, would go for an iron bullet through the forehead.
It’s not that he doesn’t know what Magnifi was -- Zak told him that from the beginning, and Pearl’s gift confirms for him that he wasn’t lying. And even without it, he could still see the lingering traces that Zak was a witch -- once. Their powers fade quickly when their patron is gone. He knows that without asking.
If it should matter, though, there is no way to prove to anyone else what Magnifi was.
Fae corpses don’t leave evidence. If they leave a corpse at all -- most do, but not all, and those deaths by their nature are never judged but in the Courts of Kurain, if the dead has the allies to bring the matter forth -- it is indistinguishable from a human’s, a last residual enchantment to make sure they cannot be ignored or dismissed.
Or to fuck with those left behind, as Phoenix comes to understand of Magnifi.
The evidence of the trial made that much obvious: one shot to the forehead; you cannot refuse, and we both know the reason why. A final cruelty to impart on those whom he bargained with -- and why wouldn’t he? If he knew he was dying -- of age, a curse from another, whatever it was -- the Gramarye witches would outlast him. And even if his death would take their powers away, the fae never like to feel that they’ve been cheated. One last indignity: don’t forget what you lost forever to make a bargain with me.
There is a lot Phoenix does not know, answers he is still seeking, but this, he understands. The nature of the fae, he understands.
The Bar Association suspends his badge pending inquiry, the hearing scheduled for one short week after the trial. News travels fast about Phoenix, ever since von Karma, ever since Gant, two pillars of the legal system he brought crumbling down, and the prosecution already had done half of their inquiry for them, placing Drew Misham in the courtroom with a speed that made Phoenix’s head spin. His memories of the trial are patchy, direly so, when it comes to the diary page -- how he got it, why he didn’t find it too suspicious to present -- and that will be his own inquiry: who fooled him, and how. It probably wasn’t Zak; it very likely could have been Gavin, a prodigy looking to make a name for himself, with enough enchantments and glamours to make it happen. He is human at the core and nowhere else, but the old adage, foot in each world, doesn’t seem so true, not when he drapes himself in iron jewelry like he thinks it can ground him firmly on this side of the veil.
Phoenix doesn’t trust him -- Phoenix has five people whom he personally trusts -- but he can’t condemn him, not yet. Not without more evidence.
The first lead he chases down is the forger himself, Drew Misham. (No, not himself.) The forger is his daughter, Vera, a shy, sickly little girl, and a changeling besides. Drew seems to know, but he won’t say it outright -- Vera is “exceptionally talented”, “a genius”, and he never makes eye contact with Phoenix. She was the only one to see the client’s face, and whoever it was has done a good job of convincing her to clam up. A gentle smile, she says. Like an angel, but for the briefest of moments -- a slip in the upkeep of a glamour? -- Vera saw the devil.
Not exactly helpful, and definitely worrying when compounded with the secret charm that she won’t show, but she does tell him that she lays an enchantment on all of her forgeries -- not in those exact words. Phoenix isn’t even sure that she realizes what she is, that her powers are not human.
Valant is the second he speaks with, at the detention center where he has been interred for trying to pin the murder on Zak. Talking to him -- or maybe it’s that Phoenix retrieved the magatama to keep with him on this investigation -- brings one memory into sharper focus -- the girl, the little girl, Zak’s daughter, as human as her father but draped in magic even when it was fading from Magnifi’s two pupils. And that is definitely worrying, too; Phoenix has stumbled sightlessly into the dark, and something monstrous is lurking in it.
He nearly misses his hearing -- an unnecessary formality because there wasn’t one among them, except apparently Kristoph Gavin, who hadn’t decided that Phoenix’s badge would be gone at the end of it -- trying to track down Trucy. The Gramaryes were an elusive coven -- Valant tried to make a cursory protest on the terminology, “Troupe! We were not…”, and Phoenix broke the single lock by just staring him down until he rescinded his words -- who were never found by those desperate enough to seek them out, but instead would appear to them in the midst of their search. If they had a home base, Valant won’t say, and no one else in the world knows. Zak’s daughter, Trucy is her name, could be anywhere in the city, anywhere beyond the city, out to the mountains of Kurain, and Phoenix might never find her.
Getting an answer from her about who she received the diary page from would be a bonus; Phoenix is more concerned for her sake. He was only able to briefly See her, but he didn’t like the glimpse.
This is going to take some assistance.
The first thing he can unearth in his apartment that can make a circular shape is an extension cord; he drags it out to the kitchen and sets a cold half of a ground beef patty on a plate in the center. The fake candles are back at the office, but that is an unneeded trifle -- funny, but unnecessary. “Maya,” he says, stepping back from the circle and closing his eyes, “there is someone I need your help to find.”
A cold gust of wind batters against his face. When he opens his eyes, the room has filled with a slowly-dispersing purple mist, twisting in strands around the fae standing in the circle. She has gained an extra pair of eyes since he last saw her, smaller slits right along the browbone, all four glowing red. The remaining mist settles about her head like hair or the headdress of royalty, not quite blending with the void-black tendrils that frame her face. One of them extends, almost like an extra arm made of shadow, down to the floor, snatching up the burger and tossing it into her mouth. She grins, the truest cheshire smile Phoenix has ever seen, stretching literally from pointed ear to ear, displaying dozens of huge sharp fangs. “Hey Nick!”
Immediately she turns to face the refrigerator right behind her. “Are you holding out on me? That was a lame burger just now.”
“Cut me some slack. I just lost my badge. I’m trying not to burn my savings on food too quickly.”
She cocks her head, still staring at the fridge. The mist doesn’t move with her like something part of her should. “Where’d you have it last?” she asks. “If you lost it at the office, Sis will probably have it on your desk in the next couple days.”
Ah. Literalism. The main weapon and weakness both of the fae. “No, I mean -- I was disbarred. I am no longer allowed to work as a lawyer--”
He stops when he sees Maya’s face. She has finally looked at him and her expression, however hard to parse it can be, shifts rapidly, the briefest flash of something like horror that twists into fury, a contorted, monstrous rage. “Who did this to you?” she snarls, and he didn’t know he looked, physically, that bad, or that she knew how to read the depths of his exhaustion and despair from his aura. “You want my help to hunt them down and eat their hearts?”
“No! No, that’s not what I want!”
“Oh.” She frowns. “I would throw it in for free.”
“No!” He bends down to break the circle and stops. “On the condition of not eating any part of a person, I let you leave.”
“For the duration of this summoning, you have my word,” she replies. He could -- should -- argue that, try and make it a blanket deal for eternity, but he decides they can negotiate that some other time. For now, he has what he needs, and he unwinds the extension cord.
When Maya steps forth, the glamour settles over her in a wave, the mist hanging over her settling into glossy black hair, her two smallest eyes vanishing and the others whitening and gaining dark irises, her mouth shrinking, and the four small glowing orbs that drift lazily about her face sink down to become four large beads of a necklace. And then she looks like an ordinary girl, late teens or early twenties, her hair done up in a topknot and her smile small but still toothy and just a little too sharp. “So who is it that you want to find?” she asks. She frowns, but it seems like such a minute motion compared to moments ago. “Is your prosecutor in trouble again, too?”
“No; that was last month.”
And he leaves her hanging on that one and they sit at the kitchen table while he instead begins to explain his own case, his own worst situation, and the Gramaryes. She repeats Magnifi’s name to herself after he says it, again and again until her voice loses its human quality, sounding instead like the clatter of bells or a windchime, until suddenly she snaps back. “This fae you call Magnifi -- he was banished, many years ago, stripped of his power with his name and cursed to never return.”
“Why?”
“He strove for power and made those who had that power very mad,” she answers. “And so -- ouch.” She picks at some stain on the table and Phoenix winces, anticipating her leaving claw marks gouged into the wood. “He had a daughter. No other allies besides her -- she left with him, naturally.”
“Thalassa,” Phoenix says. Maya nods. “It was a far fall for him, huh, to end up where he did. Probably all he had left was the power trip over Zak and Valant, and all they had was pretending that they weren’t witches sworn to some bastard.”
“That’s the funny part of it, kinda,” Maya says. “They didn’t even credit him, when they were saying they can perform spells for whatever sorry suckers show up hoping for a miracle -- they were just like ‘yeah, no fae involved, ignore that guy, we won’t screw you out of a deal’. And they by being like that probably screwed him out of dozens more deals with sad desperate humans. No wonder he decided his death should be one last one-over on them.”
Sitting cross-legged in her chair, her hands in her lap, she leans it back to balance impossibly on two legs. She likes to cause the double-take, to force Edgeworth or Franziska or whoever else to look twice at the way she twists the world around her. “And you’re looking for his granddaughter?” she asks. “Not his daughter?”
“Thalassa is dead,” Phoenix says. “And Trucy isn’t, yet, so yes, I’m looking for Trucy.”
“I’m vaguely flattered that you think I’m powerful enough that I can just find her, just like that,” Maya says. She doesn’t wobble. “It’s not so easy, not here in this realm, not without knowing her true name.” “Trucy Enigmar,” Phoenix says. “Or Trucy Gramarye.” Maya rolls her eyes. “I need to know which, Nick.” Names have more power in the Twilight Realm. It’s why Mia, even trying to be human, stumbled on names that weren’t Phoenix, the human whose life she owned, and Dahlia, the fae she defeated. It’s why Iris only ever called him Feenie. It was the kindest gesture she could make. In the same fashion, Maya calls him Nick. They don’t own him, not entirely, though they could. “It’s only two choices. You can’t guess?” “No. I need to know.” Half of magic is certainty, Maya and Dahlia so certain they have the world at their fingertips, Iris so much meeker and weaker than her sister, Vera knowing little about herself but knowing that once instructed she can create anything and that is all she needs to know. And Valant, weaker, because he was so sure he was second-best, a self-fulfilling prophecy, the only kind of prophecy that Phoenix ever sees. A spell can’t be cast on a guess. “Is there anything you can do if you go back to the Twilight Realm?” Phoenix asks. “Hm.” Maya holds her hands up, palms facing each other, and a purple glow begins to form around them. Then she claps them together and the light vanishes, her eyes glinting red for a moment in the sterile light of his kitchen. “I’ll ask Sis for help, first.” It has started to rain when they leave Phoenix’s apartment. Biking in this weather is unfortunate enough, but Maya insists on balancing herself on the handlebars, right in Phoenix’s line of sight, and this would be the most embarrassing way for Phoenix to die after everything he has been through. They are both soaked through to the skin but only fell once by the time they arrive at the office. The lights are already on and the heat is blasting a literal warm welcome. “Hey, Sis!” Maya calls into the silence. No answer comes forth, of course, but the smile on Maya’s face is one that shows her to be more at ease than in a long time. “I could use some help! Nick’s trying to steal a kid.” “I’m trying to help her,” Phoenix objects. “Honestly, Maya.” “Yeah, yeah.” Maya twirls through the office and her hair doesn’t move like it is heavy with water, or even like it has the weight of that much hair. She stops at the shelves of law books that Phoenix has meant to read for two and a half years and never did, running her fingers down the spines but not stopping at any of them and proceeding on to the binders and file folders full of Mia’s case references and research materials that Phoenix hasn’t known how to sort and get rid of. “Somewhere here,” she mutters, “maybe there’s something.” Phoenix gives her a moment to offer one before he asks for an explanation. “After our mother left,” she says, “Sis at some point moved some of the royal records out of the Twilight Realm. I think she was worried about our aunt getting her hands on them.” The pages turn without Maya touching them. Her bangs and the hair framing her face sway as though there is a gentle wind to tousle them. “But… nope.” She stops on a page and squints down at it, only to resume flipping a few seconds later. “This Magnifi of yours, his true name – it wasn’t just taken, but erased. There’s not even an echo for me to work from.” The binder slams shut and is tossed over her shoulder without her moving her hand. “If these witches were well-enough known, how did people usually find them?” “They didn’t,” Phoenix says. “Anyone who went looking for them, they would eventually appear to.” “Huh,” Maya says. “Well, we’ve got two options, now!” Phoenix is already bracing himself to hear them. “We can go out and wander until I find us a likely trail, or you can put up some – uh, wanted posters.” “Wanted? For the Old West, maybe, but—” “Then, a ‘lost kid’ kinda thing. You do that, right? With the description, and the phone number, and the reward money.” “That’s for pets.” “It could be for kids. Don’t let your narrow-minded cultural assumptions box you in.” “Ah.” Sometimes, Phoenix has no idea what the hell she is talking about. “If we’ve got to make a grid search of the city, we’d better get started.” Maya hops up onto the couch and pushes the curtains aside to look out at the rain. “Maya, do you know how big Los Angeles is?” She looks back at him with her head cocked. “No,” she says. “How big?” Again they set out, on foot this time. “We’re helping her by stealing her,” Maya says, jumping squarely into a puddle and splashing muddy streetwater up Phoenix’s jeans. “It’s not either-or.” She tilts her head back, face to the clouds that are darkening from gray to black as night falls. “I bet Sis can save her, like she did you.”
Streetlamps flicker as they pass, and in those brief spurts of shadow, Maya’s shape flickers too.
She leads him down streets he didn’t know existed, past storefronts that look long-abandoned, with neon signs still glowing in the windows but not the puddles they should be reflected in. “You definitely were enchanted, by the way,” she adds. “I can still see the residue.”
“It’s been a week,” Phoenix says.
“Well, double-layered enchantments are harder to shake off and take longer to fade.” She shakes her head. “You were doomed as soon as you took that paper, without anyone to help you. You’re only human, after all.”
“Yeah,” he says. “Yeah, I know.” A cheap, sad ball bounced back and forth between players of a game whose rules he doesn’t understand, then as in now, a pawn dragged to the other side of the board to be crowned a knight and turned back again.
“What did you say this coven called themselves, again?” Maya asks, when they’ve been out for a little more than an hour, Phoenix soaked through to the bone, Maya having given up the illusion that weather affects her the way it does mere mortals. Her skin does not shine wet in the light. Her hair still flutters like a ribbon with the breeze of passing cars.
“Gramarye.”
“The name itself might be an invocation,” she says.
“What, like ‘Bloody Mary’ three times in the mirror and she’ll--”
Maya squints at him. “I don’t know anyone who uses that moniker,” she says, very seriously. “Is that a meme?”
Phoenix regrets teaching her about memes, for many more reasons than this, but also specifically for this. “The -- the belief is that you say her name three times and she’ll appear behind you in the mirror.” He turns to his reflection, staring back at him out of the dark window of a closed-down ramen shop. “Gramarye,” he says firmly, despite feeling a little silly, and doubting that the reflection is even necessary. “Gramarye, Gramarye.”
“That’s not a mirror,” Maya says.
“I don’t wear makeup so I’m not going to just have one in my pocket--” Something flashes in the storefront window and Phoenix glances back. Something is glowing, a small pink light, and he figures that some neon sign in the shop has sputtered back to life until it moves, flitting about like a moth thumping up against a lamp. He looks back over his shoulder. There, down at the end of the block, the light is dancing up above the street. “Maya, look,” he says, nudging her, not even sure why he’s pointing it out but compelled to. “What’s that? We should go look—”
“Nope!” She grabs his arm and yanks him back. He hadn’t realized he ha started walking, toward it, until she stopped him. “What’d we just talk about, Nick?”
“Bloody Mary? Or that I’m only human?” The light pulses, brighter and softer, but never too bright that the glare is jarring in the dark and the rain.
“Yes! That without me you walk right into enchantments!”
“An enchantment?” He looks again at the light, really looks, but nothing about its shape or color changes and he takes another step forward. The edges of his vision are blurry, like he is staring through a sheet of falling water, and he should be able to see something—
He didn’t see anything suspicious about the diary page, either. Glancing over at Maya, his stomach momentarily turns over at the sight of the pale claws on his arm. “It’s trying to lead you astray,” she says, and even when she isn’t grinning, her full shark’s mouth of several rows of teeth is made visible, and she tugs at his arm again. “Back this way.”
The light bobs back and forth, sashaying forward as Phoenix moves away from it. “A will o’ the wisp?” he asks.
Maya nods. “A distraction,” she says, very seriously. “This is all very clever, actually.” One hand still closed around his upper arm -- he blinks and wills her claws to look like stubby nails and blunt fingertips again -- she pulls him back toward the storefront. “The doorway appears where there is a need, then the wisp distracts for the witch to step forth and seem to have just appeared from nowhere.” She reaches forward, touching a finger to the glass, and it wobbles and ripples like water, opening wider and wider a circle big enough to step through. “Because you can’t just teleport like that. There always has to be a door, but it adds to the illusion if it doesn’t look like there’s one.” Stepping to the side, she waves to usher Phoenix in first. He can see a stained wooden stairs descending, before they are swallowed up entirely by darkness. “Age before beauty!”
Even in the most human of her grins, he is reminded what she is.
Beneath his feet, the steps creak at every movement, the walls closing tighter and tighter as he descends, brushing against both of his shoulders at the same time. He fumbles forward, one hand stretched out groping blindly for an exit or a wall. Maya is prodding him in the back as they go -- “C’mon, Nick, you’re so slow!”
“I can’t see,” he protests, right as he walks straight into something solid, the impact of his hand against it jarring his entire body. “Ah.”
Maya’s hand brushes past his ear to reach over and tap the wall. With a loud scraping sound, a thin crack of light slowly spreads wider and wider, shifting aside to reveal the interior of a gaudy gilded room. It isn’t the decrepit shack he expected, no rats or exposed wires or broken furniture, but it still disgusts what slight aesthetic sense he has. Everything is gold, or red, or black, a collection of clashing decorative styles, Victorian-looking couches with abstract modernist tables and shelves, and a few implements that look like something from a circus, strange boxes and colorful flags and hula hoops.
Stage magic. Phoenix snorts.
Sitting on the couch, a blue plastic bowl in her hands, a spoonful of mac-and-cheese on its way to her mouth, is Zak’s daughter. “Oh!” she says brightly, through a mouthful of noodles. “Hi, Mr Lawyer! If I had known it was you I wouldn’t have let Mr Hat lead you away.”
Mr Hat? Phoenix mouths it at Maya, even though reasonably there is no way she will know what that means. She shrugs. “Hi Trucy,” he says, looking around for a place to sit and deciding he doesn’t trust anything in this place. “Your daddy hasn’t come back, has he?”
Her face falls. “No,” she says. “He hasn’t. But he told me I could trust you, Mr Lawyer!”
Why, Phoenix so desperately wants to ask, but he is trying to keep that trust and that question will not do him any good. “I did some digging to find out if you have any other family,” he says, trying to keep eye contact with her while also watching where he puts his feet. “And it didn’t seem like it, so I wondered if you wanted to stay with me for a little while -- until your daddy comes back.”
She nearly overturns her bowl trying to set it down. “So if I stay with you,” she says, “does that mean we’ll be family?”
“I, uh… I guess so?”
Maya is laughing quietly as she circles the room, plucking up the decorations on the mantles and setting them back down. “Who is she?” Trucy asks. “Will she be my new mommy?”
“Er -- no. No, no.”
Trucy’s face falls. “Oh,” she says. “Since my mommy disappeared years ago, I thought I might get a new one now too.”
“No,” Phoenix says, “she’s just -- a friend.” Sort of. As much as human and fae can ever be friends, without the tangle of deals and magic and curses that always litter those relationships. He’s heard of romantic couplings of fae and human -- ones genuinely built on love, he means -- but that was not his experience and he has no intention of repeating anything close to that situation.
“I’m Maya,” she says. “Nick and I have known each other for a few years now. You can trust him.” She grins. Trucy hasn’t recoiled from horror from her; it doesn’t appear that she has the Sight, and another quick glance over her confirms that. Phoenix hadn’t paid attention to that last time, distracted as he was by everything else that was going on, with her, and in general. Now he can see that her eyes don’t change, but marked around them is a teal glow, in the shape of a diamond, over each of her eyes like a variation on a domino mask. He can’t quite tell what it means; curses are always easier to read, a red slash across the throat only really meaning one thing.
In the meantime, until he can ask Maya out-of-earshot, he decides he should stop staring and instead deal directly with the situation he has invited upon himself. “Oh, Trucy? You don’t have to call me ‘Mr Wright’ or ‘Mr Lawyer’ or anything. You can just call me Nick if you want.” He scratches his head, as the depth of this is beginning to weigh on him. “Or even ‘Daddy’ someday, but not now if you don’t want to--”
“Okay, Daddy!”
Oh. Okay.
“I have to get my stuff, if I’m going to be living with you,” Trucy says. “I’ll be right back!”
She springs to her feet and runs off into the next room. Phoenix moves to follow her, not sure if this place won’t swallow them both up, never to be spat back out into the world. “It’s truth, if you’re wondering,” Maya says, opening an ancient-looking wooden cupboard and rifling around in it. “The blessing on her,” she adds, emerging with a pack of microwave mac-and-cheese that for some reason was stashed there, and tearing open the pack of cheese powder and shaking it into her mouth. “It probably doesn’t look quite the same as Pearly gave you, but I wouldn’t recommend lying to her.”
“I see,” he says.
“No, you didn’t See. You were wondering.” She grins again, and she swallows the package of pasta, plastic and all. Once she told him that she can unhinge her jaw like a snake to swallow anything as big as her head; he wishes that she could lie. He wishes that her sense of humor could extend beyond literalism into exaggerated falseholds.
He steps into the hall that Trucy disappeared down, just far enough to see her running from room to room, with the clattering of objects upended and tossed aside. “Do you need help carrying things?” he calls.
Trucy sticks her head back into the hall, beaming. “Nope!” she says proudly. “I have this!” She waves at him a huge pair of frilly pink bloomers, and part of him -- most of him -- does not want to ask, but he also does not want to trek back into this hideout when he finds out she didn’t bring any of her clothes. “My magic panties are better than any suitcase!”
“Can you… elaborate?”
She reaches in through the top of the bloomers and pulls forth a pink cape. “Oh,” he says, but she drops the cape in a heap on the floor and reaches again to bring out a t-shirt. “Okay, I see. Thank you.”
Maya has wandered into the kitchen area and is continuing to devour everything she can find in the cabinets. Phoenix decides against asking her to leave him some of it to bring home for him and Trucy now. “This really isn’t a liminal space, is it?” Phoenix asks. He would be able to see if it were, the way magic hangs in the very air in his office, the way Mia herself and the last traces of her life linger.
Maya shakes her head and sinks her teeth into three donuts stacked together like a hamburger. “Hidden by magic, but no closer to the Twilight Realm than anywhere else. She’d have at least a bit of the Sight if it were.” She leans up against the wall, watching Phoenix with eyes that glamour doesn’t quite have a hold over, flickering as they do to red. “But even then, she might still be too young to know to be afraid.”
