Jared's birthday week!!!!!!!!!! (That's it. That's the post. heeheehee)

Yay!!! Happy Birthday Jared! I think I saw the theme for today was Jared at conventions, so I'll share a few candid shots I took when both Jared and Gen came to Salt Lake for FanX!

It's hard to talk about Jared without Gen because both of them were so hilarious and charming during their panel, and they not only made the audience of nearly 5,000 laugh, but each other, as well.

FYI, at this point I'm not planning on transcribing any of the questions from this past weekend's FanX panel with Jared and Gen unless I get specific requests. There were a couple cute moments, but from the videos I saw, the vast majority of the questions were fluff (and mostly repeats) on the level of favorite color/dinosaur/magical creature/travel destination and they didn't bring up anything super new or unique themselves.

The Art of Teasing

The room buzzed with excitement as fans eagerly filled the convention hall, waiting for the "Supernatural" panel to begin. The stage was set with microphones, and soon, the cheers erupted as Jared, Jensen, and Y/N walked out, waving to the enthusiastic crowd.

Y/N grinned as she settled into her chair between Jared and Jensen. "Wow, you guys are amazing!" she said, making the audience cheer louder.

The moderator started asking questions, but soon, the conversation took a turn when a fan stood up and gushed, "Jared, you’re so tall, I love you!"

Y/N, never one to let an opportunity slip, leaned closer to the mic with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Oh, you have no idea! He’s like a tree, try sitting next to him!"

"A very strong, very handsome tree!" Jensen added, "I mean, seriously, how does one person get all that height and all that charm? It’s unfair!"

Jared’s face turned pink as he laughed, shaking his head. "Oh, come on, guys—"

Y/N wasn’t done. "And have you seen his hands?!" she exclaimed, grabbing one of Jared’s massive hands and holding it up for the crowd to see. "Look at these! They’re huge! If you know, you know, ladies."

The audience erupted into cheers and laughter, with some fans whistling playfully. Jensen, meanwhile, leaned back in his chair, smirking as he watched Jared’s face get redder by the second.

"I mean," Y/N continued, dramatically waving Jared’s hand for emphasis, "Imagine what else they could do!"

Jared groaned, burying his face in his free hand. "Y/N, please!" he laughed, but his blush had spread to his ears.

Jensen chimed in, unable to resist. "Yeah, I think we all get it, Y/N. Jared’s basically a human-sized lumberjack with magic hands. And now, thanks to you, we all have mental images we can’t unsee."

Jensen then leaned toward his mic with a smirk. "But hey, Y/N, since you’re so fascinated by Jared’s hands, should we start taking bets on proportion? I mean, strictly for science, of course."

The audience roared with laughter, and Jared groaned louder, shaking his head. "Dude!" he protested, his face now a deep shade of red.

Y/N grinned, catching on to Jensen’s teasing. "Well, now that you mention it, would not be a fair game would it." Jared waved his hands frantically. "Nope! No! We are not continuing this conversation!"

Jensen chuckled, clearly enjoying himself. "Alright, alright, I’ll stop… for now, only because I'd win that bet."

Y/N's eyes widen, "How would you know!?"

"I lived with the guys?!"

"But did you see?"

The teasing continued until the panel wrapped up, and later that night, the group met for dinner—Jared, Y/N, Jensen, and Jared’s wife, Genevieve.

As they waited for their food, Jensen leaned over to Jared, a smug look on his face. "Man, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you turn that red before. Y/N really got you good."

Jared groaned, shaking his head. "Dude, she was relentless. And the hands thing? Seriously? I’m never going to live that down."

Gen chuckled as she sipped her drink. "I have to admit, it was hilarious watching you squirm."

Jensen smirked, but there was something else behind his teasing gaze—something that only he knew. "Yeah, well… maybe it’s just because Y/N thinks so highly of you. It’s cute, really."

Jared raised an eyebrow at him. "Why do I get the feeling you enjoyed that way too much?"

"Oh, I did," Jensen said with a grin. "But mostly because it’s fun watching you try to keep up with her."

What Jared didn’t realize was that Jensen’s teasing had another layer—one that Y/N was completely oblivious to. Because while Y/N was busy making Jared blush, she had no idea that Jensen was quietly crushing on her the entire time.

Gen, however, had noticed. She had seen the way Jensen looked at Y/N when she wasn't looking, the way his smirk softened ever so slightly. With a knowing smile, she leaned forward. "You know, Y/N, maybe Jensen would want a little extra teasing from you."

Y/N blinked, looking between Gen and Jensen. "What, why?"

Jensen let out a short, nervous laugh, scratching the back of his neck. "N-nothing!" he said quickly, but his slightly pink cheeks gave him away.

But deep down, Jensen was afraid Y/N liked Jared a little too much. His stomach twisted slightly at the thought, and before he could stop himself, he blurted out, "You don’t start now—" his face heating up—"get back to teasing Jared with his big dic—"

Y/N’s eyes widened, and she immediately cut him off, laughing. "Whoa! I only said he had large hands! It’s your dirty mind who made it into something else, Ackles!"

Jared choked on his drink, while Gen burst into laughter. Jensen groaned, burying his face in his hands as Y/N smirked. "Well, well, well," she teased. "Looks like someone’s been thinking about this a little too much."

Jensen grumbled. "I hate all of you."

But the twinkle in Y/N’s eyes told him she wasn’t letting this go anytime soon.

Summary: You're a famous actress that's been in lots of movies and TV shows. Jensen has a huge crush on you and doesn't know that the newest person to be hired onto Supernatural is none other than you.

Jared and Jensen have a few minutes alone before their panel. Jared is snacking on whatever they provided them with while Jensen is sitting on the couch browsing on his phone. Jared has his wife on FaceTime as he is stuffing his face, and she laughs at the food dripping from his mouth.

“Baby, why can’t you eat normally?”

“What? I’m hungry,” he says, more food spewing from his mouth.

“Our kids eat better than you,” she chuckles.

“Jen, tell her I eat normally.” Jared turns to his friend but Jensen isn’t listening to a word he’s saying. He has one of his Airpods in watching a video. “Are you guys coming to the panel?”

“Yeah, we’re just exploring right now.”

“Hi, Daddy!” Odette smiles and jumps into the frame.

“Hey, sweetheart. I’ll see you soon, okay?”

“Okay. Say bye!”

All three of his kids say bye just before Gen hangs up on him. Jared finishes eating his snack before walking over to his friend. He takes a seat next to him to see what video he’s watching and smirks when he sees you on the screen.

“So, what do you want to do when the panel is over? What section of the convention do you want to visit?” Jared asks knowing Jensen isn’t listening.

He’s too invested in the video of you doing press for your new Marvel movie. You play the elusive Black Widow in all of the Marvel films, and you just got done filming your own solo movie. You’ve done some press for the movie even before it comes out to prepare people for what to expect and things of that nature.

“You’re obsessed with her,” Jared chuckles.

“Shut up, I’m not,” Jensen barks. “I’m just an admirer of her movies.”

“You have posters of her locked away in your collection.”

Jensen slaps his friend on the chest and continues watching the video. It’s true, Jensen has a major crush on you not only for Black Widow but for every role you’ve ever done. You’ve played Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, Katherine and Elena in The Vampire Diaries, and so much more. You’re such a talented person that acting is like second nature to you. You can do almost any role you’ve ever landed, and you’ve won a lot of awards for it which you’re proud of.

“Damn, look at her. She’s gorgeous,” Jensen says with metaphorical hearts in his eyes. Jared laughs and Jensen shakes his head. “I’m sorry, I have a major crush on this woman. What are you gonna do about it?”

“We’re about to do a panel. Come on.”

Jensen and Jared get ready to go out on stage. All their fans cheer for them when they make an appearance. Jared scans the audience to see his wife there with her phone pointed at him. He nods once and turns to Jensen knowing his wife is getting this on video.

“Alright, any questions?” Jared asks. A lot of hands go up in the air, and he points to the person whom Gen gestures. “What’s your name?”

“Elisa. I’m such a huge fan of both of you. My question is for Jensen. I watched a video you did talking about the actress Y/N. She just finished her movie Black Widow. Is it true you have a crush on her?”

Everyone cheers for this question but quiets down to give Jensen an opportunity to answer. His entire face reddens at the question and becomes extremely conscious of what he’s wearing, what he’s saying, and how he’s behaving as if you’re in the room.

“Wow, there’s a lot to unpack here. Look, she’s gorgeous, I’m not gonna lie. If she were standing in front of me now, I don’t think I’d form complete sentences. So, yes, I have a crush on her.”

Everyone laughs at how shy he’s becoming, and Gen looks at the person she’s on FaceTime with.

“He’s so cute,” you chuckle through the screen. “Very charming.”

You’re a really good friend of the Padalecki family. You met Gen through a non-profit organization she was funding a while back and became fast friends with her. She and Jared welcomed you into their family immediately but it was never known to Jensen that you knew them.

“Just wait until you meet him in person.”

“Isn’t it true that there is still an opening for that female character on their show?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m in between projects right now. I’d be happy to audition if you want to bring that to Jared.”

“I’ll have him hook you up,” Gen smirks.

“Is that Y/N?” Shep asks and forces his face into the frame.

“Hey, Shep,” you grin.

Supernatural is about to start filming its eleventh season which means the director is desperate to fill the role of Dean’s love interest. Jared brought you up as an option, the director had you audition, and you were offered the part before leaving the building to go home. Jensen still doesn’t know that you were the one who was offered the role, just that the position had been filled.

“Isn’t it a bit suspicious that we haven’t met this new person?” Jensen asks.

“Talk to the director, dude.” Jared gets a call from the director and answers it with a smile. “Hey. Are you here? … Perfect. I’ll be right there.”

“Whose that?”

“Gen is here. I gotta go. I’ll be right back.”

Jared leaves before Jensen can ask any other questions. He meets up with you and the director who is waiting for him on the other side of the set.

“Jared!” you grin and give him a friendly hug. “Working together is going to be so fun.”

You’re not sure how long you’ll be on the show, but you hope it’s going to last years.

“Is he ready?”

“He’s practicing his lines right now.”

Jared escorts you to the main set where Jensen is. He’s already in his Dean clothes since they are scheduled to film right now. His back is turned to you when you enter the room so you think this is the perfect opportunity to scare him. He is holding a prop gun and muttering his lines when you jump in front of him. He yelps and drops the gun as you let out an infectious laugh.

“What?” he stutters when he sees you.

“Hi, I’m Y/N,” you grin and hold out your hand for him. Jensen is a stuttering mess but shakes your hand nonetheless. “It’s nice to meet you.”

“She’s going to play your new love interest,” Jared says and slaps him on the back lightly.

“It’s going to be so much fun working with you.”

“Yeah, same here,” Jensen manages to get out. “Excuse me for a second.” He brings Jared off to the side to talk to him privately. “What the hell? Did you know about this?”

“Yeah, she’s a family friend.”

“How did I not know this?”

“I’m good at keeping secrets when I want to,” he chuckles.

“I can’t believe I’m going to be in the same room as her.”

“You’re welcome,” Jared smirks and pats his back.

Jared walks away just as you approach Jensen.

“I hope you’re okay with me being here.”

“More than okay,” he smiles shyly. I love your movies. You’re an amazing actress.”

“Thank you,” you smile. “I love this show. Dean just so happens to be my favorite character.”

That makes Jensen blush. Over the next couple of months, you’ve been filming with the boys as much as you can. It’s been nothing but fun especially when you participate in their pranks on Misha. You and Jensen are growing closer, more than you ever thought you would. He’s super nice, sweet, charming, and very sexy. He’s everything a girl would want in a man. This was inevitable, but you got to the part in your onscreen relationship where your characters share a kiss. He’s super nervous as are you since you both have feelings for one another.

“Dean, I don’t know why you’re bugging out. The hunt went exactly as planned,” your character says as you unpack your duffel bag.

“You got hurt. How is that exactly as planned?”

“We got the bad guy. Isn’t that what matters?”

“Not at the cost of your life! How could you think so little of it?”

“Dean, it’s just a scratch. I’ve gotten worse wounds than this.”

“God, you’re not getting it,” he scoffs.

“What? Please explain to me how you’re feeling.”

“It’s your life! No monster is worth that. You’re too important to me.” Jensen walks over to you and cups your jaw. The moment is so intense, so intimate. “I can’t lose you.”

“You won’t lose me. I’m right here,” you whisper.

You two stare into your eyes right before he smashes his lips on yours. He isn’t kissing you like how Dean would, he’s kissing you like how he would. The kiss is supposed to be short and sweet but Jensen keeps it going as long as he can. Your lips mold with his perfectly as if you were meant to be doing this your whole life.

The director yells CUT and Jensen pulls away from you slightly. He cheers at getting it on one take, and you step back from him with a nervous chuckle.

“Good job you two! Take ten everyone!”

“Listen, if you ever want to practice lines or… other things, you’re more than welcome to come to my trailer. You know, practice makes perfect.”

“I’ll make sure to take you up on that offer,” he smirks.

And practice did make perfect. After hearing the story of how you met Jenson yet again, both your daughters clap happily.

“Tell the story again!” your six-year-old giggles.

“Again!” your four-year-old laughs after her sister.

“Not tonight, girls,” you grin and kiss both their heads.

“Go to sleep. We’ll see you in the morning,” Jensen says.

You and Jensen leave their room and close the door gently. Jensen brings you into his arms and you wrap your arms around his neck.

“Landing that role has been the best thing to ever happen to me,” you whisper to him.

“You stole the words right out of my mouth,” Jensen smiles and kisses you.

As we reached the green room, Clif motioned for us to enter. When we entered Jensen was sitting on the floor with back against the couch and his head between his legs trying to breathe. “Jensen it’s Y/N, you’re safe. I’m here with you. Here, breathe with me.” She placed his hand on her chest as she took a deep breath in. Jensen matched her breathing as he felt the steady beat of her heart. “You're doing great Jensen, now can you tell me 5 things you can see?” 

“You, Shannon, the door over there, the water bottles on the table, and my shoes.” You nod and smile, “Good,now 4 things you can touch.” “Your hand, the carpet, how itchy this sweater is right now, and the couch behind me.” Good, let's keep going, 3 things you can hear.” “Your voice, the people outside, and Clif in the hallway.” “Really good Jensen, we're almost done, 2 things you can smell.” Your perfume Y/N, the fresh coffee.” Jensen you're almost there, now 1 thing you can taste.” “My spearmint gum.” 

“You did amazing Jensen, how do you feel now?” “I feel okay, calmer, but I also feel like a complete fool. This never happens in public, my panic attacks happen when I'm alone or at home. I'm sorry you had to see all that, and you had to deal with it, with me,” Jensen said as he kept hitting the pillow in front of him. “Hey, look at me Jensen, it’s normal to have panic attacks, both Shannon and I have them too. That’s actually one of the reasons why Shannon and I are best friends. We both ground each other and help each other through the panic attacks. If we can be your person Jensen, we will always be here for you. You don’t need to be angry or upset with yourself Jensen for having a panic attack.” You whisper as you slowly take the pillow from him. “I just don’t understand why, I’m a good father aren’t I? Why does she want to take the kids from me?”

“Honestly, we don’t know why she’s doing this, but what we do know is that JJ, Arrow and Zeppelin have an amazing father who loves them with all his heart, and would do anything for them. Who would protect them from harm or hurt, and would drop anything that he was doing to be there for them when they needed him.” “If we had to take a guess as to why, she could be jealous of the bond you have with kids because she doesn’t have that same kind of bond.” 

“Now, do you feel okay enough to return to the stage with Jared and finish the panel?” “I think I will be okay, but can you and Shannon stay at the side of the stage? I don’t want you too far from me.” “Of course we can, Jensen we will be right there waiting for you.” “Let’s get you back to the stage,” You said as you offered him your hand, helping him up. 

About 30 minutes later the panel had finished and Jensen made his way over to us, “I have a favour to ask both of you. I don’t think I can be alone tonight. With everything going on I need someone there to make sure I don’t drown in panic attacks. Would you two be willing to stay in my room tonight? I know it’s a big ask, but Jared has his own thing tonight with Gen and the kids. I don’t want him to have to choose between me and them.”

“If it’s going to help you sleep and stay calm, then it’s not a problem, we will stay in your room tonight, right Shan?” “Yes, of course Y/N.” “Thank you both, you don’t know how much this means to me. How much this makes me feel better and gives me a sense of comfort.” “Jensen, you have been our rock for years, and we will be yours now.”

Shannon and I finished up at the convention and decided to head up to our room, to shower and put on comfortable clothes before we headed to Jensen’s room. “Y/N, this whole thing with Danneel taking the kids and leaving him, has really hurt Jensen. I have a feeling there will be more panic attacks tonight and not much sleep.” “We just need to make him comfortable and remind him that he’s safe.” “I guess we should head across the hall to Jensen’s room. Are you ready Shan?” “Ready than I’ll ever be.” Shannon says as we head across the hall.

Jensen seemed to sense us coming because he opened the door just as we reached it. “Thank you for coming and staying with me tonight. My head is not in the right space to be alone tonight. This whole thing with Danneel leaving and taking the kids has me seconding guessing everything right now. So it’s better that I have company tonight. Okay, come on in and get comfortable. We can order room service and just talk.” “That sounds like a good idea Jensen, we are here for you.” You said as you and Shannon make your way inside and set your stuff down. 

Once everyone was settled Jensen placed a room service order for a bunch of appetizers and stuff. “How did you two meet, become friends and stay friends for 20 years?” Jensen asked curiously. 

“Well, Shannon and I met after I commented on one of her fanfiction stories she wrote about you. I fell in love with it and commented and then she responded.  That led us messaging each other then later exchanging phone numbers so we could text. What really connected us was how we’ve both dealt with some of the same struggles. That’s when we realized we were meant to find each other. We’re there for each other and we became instant soul sisters. You Jensen were the main reason we met and we’ve been friends ever since. It’s been 20 years since that day.” Y/N said as she smiled with a few tears falling. “You both wrote fanfiction about me? Was it at least good?” Jensen asked with a sly smile.“Oh yeah, it got lots of views and likes,” Shannon answered.

About 20 minutes later, room service had finally arrived, “Wow Jensen this is a lot of food.” “I got enough so we could snack. I hope that’s okay.” “Yeah, it’s perfectly fine Jensen. It’s good to have variety.” As we snacked on the appetizers, Jensen’s phone started ringing. It was a FaceTime call from his kids. We sat quietly and let him answer the call. “Hey Jaybird, what’s going on? Is everything okay?” “Yeah daddy everything is okay. Arrow, Zeppy and I wanted to hear your voice. We miss you so much, and all momma has been doing is yelling at everyone. When are you coming to get us Daddy?” JJ asked with tears in her eyes. “Daddy and momma have some things to sort out before I can come and get you three. I hope it will be soon though. Daddy loves all of you to the moon and back and that will never change. I promise you that. So, how’s school going Jaybird?” “I had a big math test, but I passed it, and Amber and I have a play date tomorrow,” JJ said with a smile. “How about you two Arrow and Zeppy, what’s new?” “Zeppy and I are going to Macie’s Birthday at the Aquarium,” Arrow said while giggling. “Jaybird, I’m so proud of you for acing that math test, and Arrow and Zeppy, that sounds like so much fun. Well, my babies, daddy has to go now. I will call you tomorrow when I get done with the convention. I love you guys.” “Bye Daddy,” all the kids say. 

“The kids seemed happy Jensen. They really do love their daddy,” Shannon says with a smile. “Yeah, they seemed better than the last time I talked to them,” Jensen said with a smile. “Y/N, Shannon, I think I want to try and get some sleep. It's been a long day, if that’s okay.” “It's okay with us. Shannon and I will be in the other room if you need us.”

Shannon and I were relaxing in the other room for about 2 and a half hours, when suddenly we both heard panicked breathing. We rushed into Jensen’s room and found him sitting up on his bed holding his chest with tears running down his cheeks. “Jensen, you're safe, we are both here. Can you match my breathing? Good, you're doing it. Everything is going to be okay. Just breathe Jensen.” After a few moments Jensen had calmed down and was resting quietly. We stayed with him for the rest of the night, keeping watch and making sure he knew he was safe.

I was pursuing your “Destiel” tag (thank you for posting it for that anon, btw, and bringing it back to my attention), and came across this statement from you:

“As a result, douchy Jensen + going off script = other actors trying to cope. My favorite was 2016 because that was when my girlfriend leaned close to the screen and said, "Jared, blink twice if you're being held against your will". Since then Jared had figured out how to handle these ~unscripted~ moments, but Misha hasn't.”

What was the moment in particular at 2016 JIB that made your girlfriend say that? Or what was Jensen going at that one? Wasn’t Gen at that one, too?

Also, what would you say Jared’s strategy has been in dealing with Jensen (when drunk) on stage at JIB? And why does Jensen seem “meaner” to Jared at JIB than at CE or AHBL cons? Which is closer to thier actual dynamic, do you think?

And I just have to add, it was pretty amusing seeing Misha momentarily (sadly not longer) regret his life choices at, was it 2019 JIB, where he pointed out the Destiel shirt and Jensen yelled about “where is it real?” Do you think Jensen was actually annoyed in this panel? I say yes, but my brother says no.

Jensen seems to keep it together more at JIBs post pandemic, but I was at JIB 13, and he gave off a huge air of just being over the whole thing by his solo Sunday panel. And he and Rich were essentially running out the clock by being loud idiots (my ears still hurt from being near a speaker).

They all claim to love JIB, but they also all seem pretty over it come Sunday.

Back in 2016 I used to think their co/dependent friendship was doomed at the 10-year mark because when one isn’t adjusting to the changing time, then the idolatries friendship can’t last more than 10 years at best.  I listed a few examples (X) from a feminist blog about women ending their female friendships, a woman ending her friendship with a male friend (X) Oliver Broudy’s story of ending his 10-year friendship with a college friend (X).  These friendships ended because one of them was stuck and making more and more demands on the unstuck friend.  We know happened after season 10 wrapped up (X) (X).

Anyways, what got my girlfriend's attention was Jared looking like a tug of war rope between Gen and Jensen and the boys. Regular corporate SPN cons in the U.S are already a male-dominated atmosphere bordering on frat boy shenanigans. At least there are corporate handlers and security to help keep the actors in line, plus alcohol are banned for actors. Jib cons are fan-run with no handlers and alcohol are allowed, and usually there are no actresses because the cost of the extra Jensen/Misha and Jared/Misha panels means some actors are going to get cut out and it’s usually the actresses. Without female colleagues around, the men really rile each other up at Jib cons, it’s part of their bonding and one-upmanship rituals. I think why Gen rarely participated in SPN cons is because she didn't want to be around all that dude energy. But 2016 was different because I think she blamed herself for leaving the 2015 British con early and is still traumatize that she nearly lost Jared few days later, so Gen agreed to let Jared drag bring her to Jib con. Men don’t like wives/girlfriends homing in on their bro times and Jensen was noticeable irritated that Jared’s wife was there and during the closing ceremony Jensen used air quotations marks while talking about Gen’s marriage to Jared who had his arms wrapped around her. He looked peeved at Jensen and then then laughed it off because what else could he do on stage?

(Side note: it’s not easy for men to find male friends and keeping them.  I hated the movie I love you, man because it was too familiar, and Paterson made me uneasy because Adam Driver's character has no male friends and he's more than okay with that because he has a wife.)

Jensen seems "meaner" not just to Jared but to every actor there, especially Misha. At these fan-run conventions, there are no "scripts" (guidelines actually) to follow. Most actors were still going by the guidelines from corporate-run conventions when they're on stage, but not Jensen because it's part of his upmanship as a way to both bond and dominate others. It's a Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman type situation. Maybe Jensen learned this trick from Ryan who used to be his roommate. Misha is not a natural improviser, his guest appearance on Whose Line Is it Anyways shows that, so he's the least apt at handling Jensen's off script moments. Half the time Jensen wasn't actually drunk but acts like it to avoid the inevitable asinine Destiel-loaded questions from the hellers in the audience.

Jared's strategy was about the same at pre-2016 JIB cons and CE cons because he's pretty apt at smoothing things over between Jensen and the fans. At the infamous 2013 New Jersey con a self-claiming bisexual girl tried to ask Jensen a loaded Destiel question and he snapped at her with, “don’t ruin it for everybody” and Jared immediately calmed Jensen down and salvaged the rest of the experience for sane fans.

Stuff like this is closer to their real life dynamic as the Giver and the Taker. If you read the "codependency tag", Jared the Giver cleans up the messes the Taker make. Givers think they're helping but they're actually enabling and don't improve things. Jensen's reputation took a slight hit, and it took a few years for the New Jersey con to be memory-holed. Apparently Jensen didn't learn from this and 3 years later mocked a girl wearing a "Destiel is real" shirt at the 2019 JIB. Misha told Jensen to not “fight with fans” and Jared was gesturing to a fan in the front row as if saying don’t look at me look at him. That may answer your question, Jared stopped trying to calm Jensen down and instead focus on heading off fans who gets too snippy at Jensen, like at a DC con few years back where a girl was trying to look cool but came off sounding hostile towards Jensen, so Jared left the stage and hugged the stuffings out of the girl, deflating her hostile-sounding voice.

I don't think I've seen Jensen's solo panel at JIB13, but he's usually looks like he's watching the clock during his Jared-less panels so that's nothing new. It's been the case for many years and a common complaint by fans, it's why CE stopped having solo J panels early on because Jensen needs a scene partner. It goes back to why Jensen works better as a scene-stealing supporting actor instead of a leading man. How Jensen made Dean Winchester have memorable moments was by putting his focus on the other person.  By using this method, Jensen can stop worrying about how he’s going to say his lines and speak intuitively, this helps make Dean appear truthful to the audience.  It may be why Jensen doesn’t read scripts ahead of time.   Jensen doesn’t go into a scene looking to do a scene, instead he goes in looking to be open and give over to how the other person (in this case, Jared playing Sam) makes him feel.  This method worked great for Jensen when his character has Sam to focus on, and Jensen has Jared to react to.  It’s why Dean’s dying moments with Sam in the barn works so well in the series’ finale.

You probably heard of the saying, “acting is reacting”.

A demon’s acting philosophy in The Good Place: “Demons have to learn that Acting Is Reacting.  And Reacting Is Pre-acting. But Pre-acting? Well, that’s just being.”  

While “acting is reacting” gets mocked in the acting community because it’s a trap alot of actors fall into by adjusting their truthful inner life to their assumptions about the text.  Good acting is adjusting the text to your authentic emotion which is the result of the other person.  This where Jensen’s good acting comes from and it’s become his comfort zone and made him a multimillionaire by his mid 30s.  He’s in what my acting coach calls “the truthful contact”, it’s where actors are taught the first stage of authentic acting.  The next stage is “crafting”.  When you’re working solo without a screen partner, your skill at crafting becomes vital.  Crafting means anywhere from ability to endow meaning to objects so they have emotional meaning is important, or effectively get across justifications and point of views.

Purgatory Con 9: How are we getting a Jensen panel, JenMish panel AND a solo Misha panel but no solo Jared panel?

Don't get me wrong, I really love having a Jared/Mark panel and a Jared/Gen panel, but c'mon 😭 That man should be getting a solo panel too!!

The schedule feels like a mess this year honestly, though I get figuring out a good schedule for photo ops/autographs to happen is just hard. Still ugh

Nice to see so many Purcon Jared fans excited about him and Gen coming. Last year with the organizer switching Jared from Infinity up to Purcon, I'm glad to see Purcon staff really trying so hard for JP fans this time around. (But, hey, people switched over and kept going, late choice on bad seats or not. So it's deserved.)

I can't wait til the ops and panel!! Ohh yeah, I remember that. A lot of people still went, tho!!

Hi, I stumbled upon this post of yours and wanted to share the impression I had of this scene while I was at that convention with my boyfriend. I should point out that it was my first convention ever and I could define myself as part of the general public. After seeing some clips of j2's panels on internet I was curious to go to one of these conventions, but I knew little about the actors and only after the convention I started looking for some infos here. I still know little and although I am curious I try to stay out of all this as much as possible, because honestly most fans seem crazy to me. I mean, I read a few minutes ago some Jared fans insulting Jensen fans, but as an outsider I can say that they are all the same. lol. So, regarding the scene in your post... the impression my boyfriend and I had was that Gen was a little hurt by the fake kiss, but I don't think she was hurt by the gesture itself, but more by the reaction of the audience, who started screaming when Jensen approached Jared. It gave us the impression that she was a little jealous of THAT reaction. I even felt a little sorry for her at that moment, but I honestly wondered how she couldn't understand that it's completely normal for the audience to be there mainly for the two leads of the show. I mean, people go to these events for those two. During this convention the j2's panel was requested by many because at the beginning it was not planned and there was a lot of disappointment among the attendees for that. Also, to be honest, Jared's wife was not very interesting at the panels. She had strange behaviors, I don't know if it was due to performance anxiety or something else, but it was like she was trying too hard. She kissed Jared while the translator was speaking, and the translator was a little annoyed by it, because obviously the audience stopped listening to her to pay attention and react to their kiss. So yes, she gave us the impression of a person who really craves being the center of attention.

reposting about my con experience with jared a few months later on here since laila bestie wanted to hear about it lol @rubyvhs <33 and since it was on my previous blog heh. probably more details from before because i was hugely freaking out back then lol

so i had a photo op with him and i did it with my sister!! that was first and then there was a panel with him, mark pellegrino, and alaina huffman!

it was very hot and humid in both places bc his photo op was the biggest so people were waiting outside and the door was open and all that. pretty poor circulation in his area unfortunately :,) and the q&a was in a tent outside thank fuck i brought my little handheld fan LOL anyways

it was hot... so he was all sweaty and flushed LOLLLL but someone on his staff was like wiping some of the sweat on his face in between the last photo ours so he was like "sorry, it's so hot!" and my sister and i were like "nonono take ur time don't worry." but obviously the photo ops are quite rushed so he brushed off the person helping out (politely ofc) very quickly so he could take the picture with us!!

also while i was waiting in line... i was setting my bag on the little table they had for them. and it gave a view of him and i was putting my bag down right as he ended his photo with someone. and when you're done he'll like look after you for a second and obviously i was staring at him. and you walk off i the direction of the table with bags obviously so you can grab it and so i made eye contact with him and he smiled at me before he had to take his next photo and i FREAKED LMAO i think he saw my face go 😳😳😳 shdkfhakjdfl. yeah

anyways back to the photo itself... i blacked out a little bc i don't remember the picture itself HAHA but as we walked up he was like "hi how are you guys :)))" and we were like "hi hi!! we're good thank you how are you??" and he was like "i'm good, thanks :)))" and idk if he said anything else because we took the picture and i blacked out teehee. and the whole time he was making such intense and purposeful eye contact i was like woah woah woah he's really tryna make this personal WOW !!!

but here comes the kicker !!!! basically he says like thank you all sweet and bye and all that but. but oh my god oh my fuck. i'd assume he does this for most folks but before/as we started to walk away he 100% gave each of us a quick but very sweet back rub and it fixed me. it fixed me oh my god. and i freaked out so bad LOLLLL i was like thanks!!! have a good day!!! 😳😳😳😳😳 @_@ kadkjflaskd and my sister and i walked away like... clinging to each other giggling like idiots etc. my knees buckled on several occasions. i sank to my knees in the line to get a second copy of the picture :,) and i need that again SO BADLY OH MY GODDDD it was so comforting and i think about it an unhealthy amount <3333

anyways happy to post the pic if anyone is curious! i look a tiny bit goof because of how hot and nervous if was. he is visibly flushed and sweaty as well though heart eyes heart eyes. anyways you can see his chest hair too <333 gorgeous man

this is getting so long but the panel was lovely!! they were all so cute and funny and he included gen in almost every single answer in at least some way. also i was in line to ask a question.... and the last one they took was the one right before me which was very typical for my luck LOL but honestly it's the last thing that comes to mind when i think about the experience. so overall it was definitely so so amazing <333

I'm watching Jared's Saturday solo panel at JiB 15 and he was asked about THE Boys. So he was already filming 5 days on itcand he'll return to filming on tomorrow (Tuesday). This means his role is definately more than a cameo (where an actor usually comes in for a day and does a ~ 5 min scene - like Jensen in Gen V). I guess he'll be at least in a whole episode.

I wish I could be as excited about it as I was when he first confirmed he'll be on TB. But unfortunately the announcement that Mishit will also be there had dampened my mood for the J2 reunion on screen so much, that all that is left of it is a black hole. 😭

I don't care if you think I'm overdramatic or nuts, it's how I feel. I tend to to feel emotions very physically and my disdain for Mishit is so bad that I feel sick if I see him (tried to watch the JenMish panel but I just can't get through it.).

As a J2 stan and a The Boys fan I was so happy...but well ⬇️

It's nice to get a normal question, instead of the usual troll-ish ones.

Alright, let's get down to this.

Disclaimer: I do not know these these gentlemen or their families personally, and I am not even American. But I have been in the fandom since 2009, on tumblr since 2010 I think. So this is based on my observation from con panels, especially jibcon, and social media interactions with each other over the years. I have not been super active in the fandom since over a year though.

If you a J2M fan, you should watch this honcon panel that is a sheer definition of fun 👆🏽

I think Jensen and Jared hit it off initially and were friends on set and even shared a home for a while.

Later on, Danneel and Gen and J2 would hang out, but at some point they had a falling out. I personally think the ladies did not just get along wth each other, need not have been a big falling out. They are different personalities and strong women and it's not necessary to become besties just because their husbands work together. Later, the men themselves had a falling out, the details of which we might never know.

Jensen and Misha, after a lukewarm start in early season 4 filming, started getting along really well. I believe a huge reason for this is that Danneel adores Misha, and she has always been vocal about it. Check out Jenmisheel tag to check out stories of their hanging out. One of the incidents is the story of Danneel and Misha eating chillies and Jensen laughing about, is one of the examples of this.

But also, Misha has been a great influence on Jackles. Misha had quite a wild youth, his ex-wife even wrote a book on threesomes! But he became a father first, mellowed down and being older as well, you always get a sense that Jensen looked up to him. While his relation with Jared was more of a fun buddy, I get the feeling that Jensen and Misha have an equation where they can sit and have a serious conversation.

But all three of them, and the rest of the cast as well, did have a lot of fun together. Have you watched the mockumentary directed by Misha? If not, do watch.. you will love it!

By the final seasons, Jensen and Misha seemed very obviously closer.

Their 10 year friendship post by Jensen was far too serious, unlike other fun posts, so he seems to give a lot of importance to their friendship.

Currently, I think Jensen and Jared are cordial and wish each other on birthdays and other occasions, and the same with Misha and Jared. I think Jensen and Misha interact more often and touch base more frequently, but if they meet up in person, and how often is not something we know. Unlike say Richard Speight Jr and Rob Benedict, who were (are?) doing a podcast together, and so we know they hang out a lot. With J2M, they are not super-active on social media off late, so we don't know as much.
