"Joyride" by Kesha. We've all heard it. A return to form and a celebration of Kesha's freedom <3

I finally listened to Cupcakke's album. I know people love to harp on her obscene lyrics and humor but can I just say her instrumentals are one of a fucking kind? Some notables off the album: "Water Balloon," "Aura," "Backstage Pass," "Rock Paper Scissors," "Dora," and "Dementia." If you like these, maybe give "Catman" by TeaMarr as well.

"Skyscraper Starlight" De De Mouse. City Pop sensibilities with a modern groove factor.

"Chasing Low Vibrations" Foster the People. Not as good as previous stuff but... idk... what it is what it says on the tin. Low vibrational.

"Corazon" & "Switch It (ft Cakes da Killa, GAWD). Glossy, disco-y, and MADE to get you on the fucking dance floor! Glad to have accidentally found the latter song through Cakes Da Killa and their song "Da Dat Baby" with its gay, flashy rap. If you like those, PIVOT WITH ME, and try out "Nowhere" by Shotaro Aoyama.

"Kiss" Penicillin. Just some Visual Kei rep on this list. The sound is very nostalgic for Jrock, at least vocally. Like 1998 vibes.

"Low Threshold" Navy Blue. A rap that feels like the intersection between a confessional and a sermon.

Looking at my "Share with Tumblr" playlist... this is longer than expected so uh... kpop dumping ground?? Which is bad because these are all WILDLY different genres but... I feel like the same group of people will give them a chance so:

"Hot Mess" Aespa (chaotic, bad but compelling). "Sabotage" & "Bad Blood" KWON EUNBI (Dancey, Loona-adjacent somehow?) Jpop and mid-2000s AMV core... I'm here for "Underground" by F5ve and its semi-viralness.

I don't think its their best album, by a long shot, and I miss how weird they were but Glass Animals did have a bit of a comeback from that HORRIBLE lead single. Notables: "How I learned to Love the Bomb," "Wonderful Nothing," "whatthehellishappening?" Indie pop / alt rock.

"Super Breath" Karen 0 & Danger Mouse. MTV Teen Wolf era ass song. For the peeps who liked older Metric but also MTV's curated playlists for their teen dramas.

"Stupid (can't run from the urge" underscores. If hyperpop intrigued you but kind of scared you, if you ran back to like... madeon but gayly... this is the song for you.

If you like previous recs of Alex Anwandter's music, give "Mi Corazón" by Tango Astral a shot. Similar vibes, perhaps more basic.

Kinda generic rock song but "Delusion:All" One OK Rock scratches an itch. Still don't think they've ever done better than "Clock Strikes" but I don't follow them much

Sunny looked around the conference room at the assembled group, his excitement barely contained as he set down his worn leather messenger bag and pulled out a stack of character sheets. A mechanical pencil spun between his fingers as he grinned at everyone.

"Alright, welcome everyone! I'm San Vega, but everyone just calls me Sunny. I'm the president of the D&D club here at Yeonhwa and your Dungeon Master for this summer adventure that will last for six sessions." He gestured enthusiastically, the silver rings on his finger catching the fluorescent light. "First off, thanks for actually showing up - I wasn't sure if anyone would take the bait from those flyers." He perched on the edge of the table, clearly in his element.

"So for those who are completely new to Dungeons and Dragons - don't panic. Think of it like collaborative storytelling where we're all writing a story together, except I get to play all the monsters and NPCs." His laugh was warm and infectious. "You create a character, tell me what you want to do, I tell you what happens, and we roll some dice to see if you succeed or fail spectacularly. It's honestly the best kind of chaos."

Sunny's eyes lit up as he continued. "The whole point of this summer dungeon crawl is simple: be creative, have fun, and get absolutely loaded with treasure. We're talking magic weapons, ancient artifacts, maybe even some of that legendary dragon gold if you're brave enough." He made jazz hands dramatically. "Plus, I'm hoping this gets more people interested in the D&D club. We've got some really cool stuff planned for next semester."

He picked up one of the character sheets, waving it slightly. "Speaking of which — anyone who survives this summer campaign gets to bring their character to our official club campaign starting September 3rd. That's going to be a longer, more in-depth continuation of the story that runs through the fall semester." His grin turned slightly mischievous. "Key word being survives. I'm not saying I'm planning to kill anyone, but... well, dragons don't exactly hand over their treasure willingly."

Sunny clapped his hands together once. "Alright, enough talking from me. Let's build some heroes! The character creation is super streamlined - pick a race, pick a class, choose some skills, give them a name and a personality, and we're good to go. I'll walk everyone through it step by step, and don't worry about not knowing the rules perfectly. That's what I'm here for."

He gestured to the papers spread across the table. "So, who's ready to become a legendary adventurer? And more importantly, who thinks they can actually make it out of this dungeon alive with their pockets full of gold?"

1. a typical D&D game is vastly more complex. I've stripped a lot of the tedious stuff and calculating down so all you have to do is follow the prompts in your writing and all the calculations will be done by me on the backend for a streamlined experience. 2. participation in all 6 session is not mandatory, however, you must participate in at least 2 sessions (not counting session 0 or session 5) in order to move the story forward. Description: It is summer of 1956, and leader of the T-Birds Yoongi is working at a food joint at the beach to make extra money over the summer, when he meets a pretty girl. They start a summer fling that unfortunately had to come to end, but an unexpected turn of events will bring them back together.

Genre: 1950s au, angst, fluff, some smut, Greaser!Yoongi x Square/Goody-Two-Shoes!OC.

TW: underage drinking and smoking, sexual content, violence, misogyny (it’s the 1950s so peak macho man era).

Word Count: 1.3k+

Meanwhile, the T-birds were trying to encourage their leader to call for his girl. But what would Yoongi even say? "I'm sorry for lying to you, but I wanted to protect my reputation as a greaser and player?" He knew she wouldn’t take him seriously.

"Come on hyung, didn't you wanna talk to her?" Namjoon asked him.

"You know what, I changed my mind, this was a dumb idea."

"Well then how about you call for her Jiminie?" Hoseok giggled, taking a swig from his beer. And the youngest wasted no time, getting up on the seat and reciting what he could remember from his drama class a few years back.

"Oh, Lottie, wherefore art thou Lo-" he was interrupted by Yoongi punching and slapping him, eventually pulling on his jacket so he would sit down.

Kim and Nayeon went up to the window. "Is it the guys?" Jiyoon asked, "it is! They can't come up here, my folks would kill me if I had any boys up in my room," Nayeon said.

"Hey Joon!" Kim greeted the second in command flirtatiously. "Hey! You wanna get down here?!" He asked her.

"Sure, but get rid of all your friends," she smiled, seeing the cat-eyed boy there, she wanted to rub a little salt on the wound, Lottie didn’t like her anyway, "that includes you Min!" She called for him.

He chuckled sarcastically, "good, sloppy seconds ain't my style," he yelled back. Hearing Yoongi's voice made Lottie's heart skip a beat, and gosh she hated herself for that. Kim, on the other hand felt a bit offended, did she sleep around? Maybe, but she wasn't sloppy seconds.

"So, what are you goin' to do flog your log?"

"I've done worse," he deadpanned, getting out of the car to walk home, "have fun, Namjoonah," he patted his best friend's shoulder and walked away. The aforementioned nodded and looked back up at the window where his girl was. "I'm still here!"

And as much as Kim felt bitter, she decided getting Yoongi's attention was the dumbest thing she could, she had guys lining up, begging for chance, she wasn't going to let herself be held back by anyone, Yoongi could keep the goody two shoes foreigner if he wanted to. She walked away from the window and walked to the chair where she had set down her stuff.

"You lot are too square for my taste," she said, putting on her shorts and shoes, "I'm gonna go get my kicks on while I still can," she took a quick look in the mirror and fixed her hair quickly.

"What are you gonna do?" Nayeon took a hold of Kim's arm, "Shimmy down the drain pipe?"

Kim smirked, not bothering to reply as she carefully made her way down said drain pipe to Nayeon's horror, she watched her friend get in the car with Namjoon, Kim gave one more glance at the window where she saw her friend had already disappeared into the house.

Namjoon began driving off, his right arm resting behind Kim’s shoulders, the aforementioned stole a couple of glances at the handsome young man, a smirk adorning his face. Through the years, Kim had always kept an eye on Namjoon, even before both groups had risen through the ranks, he had always been an intriguing case, she had caught him more than once reading poetry books, or the occasional sea creature encyclopedias. Namjoon on the other hand, hadn’t really paid any mind to Kim until this summer, after Yoongi had broken things off with her, they had a short little fling, and afterwards would still flirtatious glances, and compliments, he couldn’t have been happier when his best friend had told him to have fun, an indirect greenlight for him to go after Kim.

Once they got to lover’s lane, it didn’t take long for them to talk a bit more, discussing things they usually wouldn’t with their friends, until they started what the place was most frequented for, necking. The pretty view of Seoul long forgotten as Namjoon trailed kissed up and down Kim’s neck, the latter huffing and letting small moans come out of her. Hands trailed other places, the intentions behind what they were going to be doing more and more clear.

“God Kim, you are so good baby,” Namjoon groaned after she had been sucking along his neck while calming him through his jeans.

“Call me by my first name,” she requested.

“Um…” Namjoon drew a blank as he continued kissing her neck. How had her name not come up in conversation, wasn't Kim her first name? People called her that so much it was easy to assume it was.

“Jennie,” she pushed him off momentarily, a bit flushed from embarrassment and a lot from what they were doing prior to this kerfuffle.

“Jennie-ah” he said softly as he went back to attacking her neck, the way he said her name made Kim feel a fluttering in her stomach, he made it sound like a beautiful secret.

“Hey baby, you got something?” She sighed, not needing or wanting any ankle biters right now. Namjoon chuckled, moving away slightly so that he could dig in his back pocket.

“My 10 cent insurance policy,” he said as he pulled out the foil packet, starting to tear it open so they could get on with it, “Ooo, a big spender huh?” Jennie giggled as she stretched, grateful that they had moved to the back seat once their make out got more heated.

Namjoon, however, looked like a kid who had their candy taken away, he looked up to Jennie and her little smile dropped, “it broke.”

“What?! What'd ya mean it broke?” She asked in disbelief.

Namjoon sheepishly chuckled as he rubbed his neck, “I bought it in the 7th grade, when we first got that lesson on diseases?” He explained, “but I never used it because my older brother told me pulling out is better.”

“Jeez, then I'm shocked you ain't got a little one by now,” she said slightly annoyed, she had really wanted for this to happen.

Even if she known as someone “fast” she had always been safe, since there wasn't a way for her to protect herself, she made sure her lovers could, and now that was out of the question. The thing was… Namjoon was different, she'd known him forever! He was something she wanted and she wanted him bad.

“What the hell,” she got right back into necking, it took Namjoon a second to react, surprised at first, but he kissed her back in no time, this will happen she told herself; Namjoon had started to unbutton her plum colored blouse when the car was hit.

Needless to say Namjoon was pissed.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!” He turned and yelled, finding Jaebeom in the driver's seat and Jackson in the back, both of their chicks sitting next to them.

“You need to learn how to read Namjoon-ah, that right there says no parking zone,” Jaebeom chuckled in a condescending tone.

“The whole place is a no parking-zone you damn nosebleed.” Namjoon's jaw was locked, and Kim could see his tongue against his cheek, “You're gonna pay me back for this!” His back bumper was loose and his rear light glass broken.

Jackson and Jaebeom looked at each other and laughed. “We'll give 10 cents for the entire thing, including your chick,” Jackson winked at Kim before they drove off, laughing loudly at the couple. Namjoon looked even angrier, and if she hadn't been insulted just then, she's sure we would've flipped her lid and came just from the sight alone.

After a minute or two of Namjoon huffing and puffing, Kim decided she still wanted her world rocked, “I don't know ‘bout you, but my motor's still runnin’” she smirked, and they got right back to it.

I don't know how, but I can somehow relate to JK and it's kind of terrifying. It's scary if I ever find a boyfriend that has characters like Jiyoon, without support from Taehyung and even FMC. (I'm just guessing Jiyoon's character based om the fact you're trying to write her POV that she's probably not so bad if not for Dani's influence and maybe other stuff). I find myself quite naive and blind to kindness. The part where Jungkook just really trying to salvage their marriage and support Jiyoom because she's labeled as his wife is just... really sad but quite frankly can happen to me. I can imagine thinking to myself "he was kind before, he's not always like this" "we're already married now, we've said our vows" "he's probably having a tough time and I should be there for him". And Jungkook's first instinct or reflect whenever Jiyoon is sad is kind of relatable, especially the part where he can easily forgive. I don't think I would've had the courage like Jungkook to think clearly of the red flag (the part when he said he knows that Jiyoon is aware of his weakness and that she can make him crawl back to her). I've had betrayals and dissappoinments that should last me a lifetime yet I'm too stupid to learn the signs (and ironically I'm a psychology major). Kindness hurts and being a kind person also hurts A LOT. Like it or not, want it or not, you'll "feel" and that is painful more of often than not.

Aww, Anon, thank you for being so open with this discussion. I don't like to think of people who are like this as "too stupid to learn the signs" because I'm wholeheartedly in the belief that it comes from a space of empathy and kind-heartedness. From the outside looking in, others might call us naive and can't possibly understand how we could not see the signs or why we'd 'stay with that person' when we *know* they're not good for us? But, it's a LOT easier said than done when it boils down to it. Even when we know the danger and that we'll probably end up hurt, we can't help that we yearn for that personal connection. And if it's with someone that we previously had a connection with, it's even harder to turn away or think they can't be 'saved' in a sense. And the cherry on the proverbial shit cake is simply that most of the time when a relationship ends (especially in the way JK's and Jiyoon's did), it's typically one-sided. There is always one person who never asked for it, who never thought it was possible for the person they love to not love them back any longer/the way they do. So, yes, Jungkook loves his life now and is going to be happy with the FMC, but that wasn't his end goal from the start, y'know? He, never in a million years, saw himself separating from Jiyoon because she was the person he wanted to spend his life with, prickly edges or not, he chose her...he was happy, all things considered. It is true that kindhearted people tend to be hurt the most, but I like to think that they are what keeps the world from completely falling apart ❤️ no matter how hurt they are, they are resilient and are utterly priceless.

I definitely will not get back into kpop ever but occasionally I'll go through a youtube binge of my old faves. I only ever liked female artists but the thing was you'd get attached to a girl group or a female vocalist and like a year later it would be like "no she's too old now. time to abandon her and introduce a new group of 15 year olds" . they continually wasted so much incredible talent by viewing the artists as well as talent itself as a replaceable commodity imo (i'm not saying this doesnt happen in western pop too but perhaps not so brazenly)

anyway a lot of it is bad lol but these are some of the things that I've revisited that still actually go so hard:

4minute crazy- excuse me?? this was such a slay. also hate. the tonal plot twist in this track: unparalleled. hyuna was iconic but also jiyoon !!! i agree w the comments of this yt video this would absolutely be a massive hit if it was released today

ladies code. this is just legitimately good pop music. a very sad story behind them as well and they were very undervalued as I recall. but this. galaxy was spectacular. both of the last two EPs tbh. that vocalist's voice does things to me

wonder girls obviously. even as far back as irony which is so charming in a retro way but I love that they eventually were playing their own instruments/having more of a hand in their own music. specifically i want to point out that park ye-eun from wonder girls was legitimately SUCH a talented musician imo (as a singer and a composer) and so much of her solo stuff as ha:tfelt was incredible. I was very glad to hear that she (and the others i think) left their agency bc they were so mistreated rip

yezi cider.... god she was so talented and i was so in love with her. my underrated fave... at one point i watched a whole reality show about korean female rappers for her lol (which was. a lot. but she should have won)

suzy yes no maybe again this was just really good pop.

dalshabet someone like u this is the corniest thing i'll put on this list but mostly it's just a super interesting case to me. iirc it was fairly popular with international audiences but kind of a flop in korea. which is fascinating to think about in terms of the cultural differences in what music appeals to us. like as a cheesy pop song it is just so catchy to me lol and I can't understand how it could not be but there u go

in capable/caring hands so many of these women could have done INCREDIBLE things imo. like it's undeniable that there is very real talent in kpop, I think the aggressively commercial aspect just limits the artists criminally and it's a shame. which ig is true to some extent about any pop music.

Seren & Leo - so he's a podcast dj and I'm thinking maybe they could cross paths cause he interviews 'spooky' jobs, maybe they're eclectic personalities blend well??

Any combination of Mason, Minhee, or Chase & Blu or Melody. I'm a sucker for the hockey player and the ice skater, but also rival hockey players or teammates that grow close, or competitive figure skating rivals? Sign me up for any of it 😍

Caroline & Jaeseong - two nepo babies, maybe both are used to carrying the financial weight in a relationship and aren't used to being spoiled? Like what if they tried outdoing each other and went so over the top omg

Cain or Soojin & Trenton - kind of similar ish vibes. Soojin and Trenton could somehow be on a similar press tour or maybe he got inspiration from her story & wanted to kind of get her weigh in from it, or Trenton could help write a script for one of Cain's indie films :3

Kiran & Taehee - i couldn't find what kind of bar he owns, but if there's something thematic maybe she could dance at his bar??

Mariah & Mari or Daniel - Mari and Mariah could come in contact with one another a lot due to Mari frequently bringing people in, maybe they linger before returning back to work? Or Mariah works under Daniel, total Grey's scandals 👀

Yuto & Valerie - she could work at his bookstore! Maybe she came in so much and he could see how much she loved it and offered her a job?

Jasper & Trace - another potential coworkers, or even it could go back further and they started it at the same time and have grown close as besties or boos

Ducky & Areum - she isn't forward and if he's not either it could be a thing where they're good friends but the whole staff knows they think more but won't say it??

Jiyoon & Star - this may be cheating bc i already used her to reply to her starter, but I like the potential of catty costars that realize it was just a certain kind of ~tension~ but they find out one way or another 🤓

Onika & Theo - he's a rising star and is trying to get used to having a personal assistant, but they could get along more than expected :3

Girls' Generation - Girls' Generation

Hugely, massively disappointed with this album. I think next I’m gonna listen to Gee, just to hear the difference, because apparently Gee is their next actual release of new music. This album was full of your classic r&b slow jams, except sometimes they were faster and had a bit more synth to them, which I guess is progress? But this sounds nothing like the SNSD that we know and love, and it sounds way more like the 1st gens that we try to forget about. Like, A Letter From Greenland did better than this half a decade earlier. Average score of 6.1 excluding ITNW, and 6.4 with it included.

But yeah. I’d like to check out some stuff that The Grace and Sugar were doing around this time, and I think I’m gonna go do Gee right now to see what I can see.

The only song that I know from this is Into The New World (which was apparently a potential M.I.L.K. song!) so I’m going into this album pretty damn blind. I’ve heard Oh!, so let’s see if Oh! is an evolution of their sound or if their sound stays consistent.

This sound is very … hm. The synth does a lot there

They do be pretending to play the instruments – I guess that fits with the rock instrumentation, at least

This feels like a less impactful version of Into The New World

This is not the same style as Gee, or Oh!. So that means, at some point between this song and Gee, their style shifts. Which means I’m gonna have to go through with a fine-toothed-comb and find exactly that point.

“are you even listening to me?” your friend, jiyoo asks as she waves her hand in front of your face. “huh? oh yeah, i was.” you say, slightly dazed while your gaze remained on the boy who had just entered the line to get ahold of today’s meal the college had to offer. “can you stop looking at jaemin and focus on me?” she snapped her fingers in front of you and this time you turned back to her.

“you know him?” you asked a bit too excited and she sighed. you cleared your throat and sat back properly, offering her an apologetic smile. “sorry” you muttered. “no, it’s alright. and yeah of course i know jaemin.” she said, a bit disappointed by the fact she did know him. you couldn’t help but chuckle a bit. “are you guys friends?” you asked, taking interest in the new found relationship between your friend and the hot guy in the queue.

"it's weird calling him my friend, even though my mother wants us to be." she took a bite out of the food in front of her as you waited for her to continue. "that's my brother, na jaemin." she answered. "no way." you responded back baffled. "what do you mean 'no way', i have told you about him!" jiyoon chuckled before rolling her eyes at you.

“yeah, but you didn’t mention the part where he is very good looking.” you said, gaze averting back to the guy that had just left the line. “why would i call my brother good looking.” she said as if it was common sense. “speaking of the devil.” she mumbled and before you could ask her what she meant, you felt warmth behind and slightly turned your head to be met with a tray of warm soup and a cake. your eyes slowly looked up at the guy you were just talking about and he quickly glanced down, sending you a tight smile.

“hey, tell mom i’m not coming home tonight, i’m gonna sleep over at jeno’s.” he told her. you continued to stare up at him, mouth slightly open. “sure, just make sure to call her and tell her when you arrived.” she said not even batting an eye at her brother who stood there. he told her a small thank you before his eyes looked down at you again. “you must be (—), jiyoo has told me some stuff about you. i’m jaemin.” he smiled, a hint of a smirk as he noticed how your mouth was still slightly open.

“i am (—)!” you responded back with a smile. “i know. i just said that.” he let out an airy chuckle and you didn’t know if you wanted the ground to swallow you, or squeal at how cute his laugh was. “yeah, uh, did she say g-good things or bad?” you awkwardly asked back, internally shaming yourself for stuttering in front of jiyoo’s brother. he chuckled. “both?” he smiled before walking off to a table on the other side of the canteen. you heard jiyoo try to hold in her laugh and you didn’t think twice before placing your head on the table. “that was embarrassing.” the both of you said in unison.

“please, (—) i’m begging you, don’t look at my brother like that.” jiyoo expressed, by the time you looked up her smile was gone and was overtaken by a look of disgust. “huh?” you asked, mind still thinking about what your best friend could’ve told her brother about you.

“there is a reason i didn’t tell you that my brother is, attractive- or whatever you guys seem to like about him. he’s off limits, (—).” she said as she drank from her carton pack that contained the remaining bits of apple juice she had. “i understand, but i don’t know if i’ll be able to not think he’s cute.” you chuckled. “i don’t care, as long as you don’t act on those feelings of yours. i don’t know how i’d feel knowing my best friend is dating my, brother. out of all people. ew.”

ever since the discovery of jiyoo’s extremely cute brother, you have been trying to spend more time at her house. sometimes she knows about your intentions, sometimes she doesn’t. but every time you can’t help but feel bad. deep down the both of you know that the only reason you’re at her house these days is so you can get a glimpse of jaemin making his coffee in the kitchen as he brushes his hair back, wears those grey sweatpants with that nice fitting white t-shirt of his. or to accidentally bump into him as you make your way to the bathroom to wash your hands.

it was one of those days where you excused yourself to go to the bathroom in hopes of bumping into jaemin. sometimes you wondered why you were this desperate, you’re sure that you won’t even be able to talk properly if he looks at you, let alone greet you. but trying didn’t hurt did it?

and just as you predicted, jaemin emerged from his room, presumably making his way to the bathroom. as he noticed you just leaving it he stopped to send you a short smile. “hello (—)” he greeted you with a grin. sometimes you wondered if he knew about your intentions. there were times, when the two of you would make eye contact, where he’d send you a smile that seemed to understand and see through your plan, and knew what you were trying to accomplish. grins, like the one he was giving you right now, made you wonder if he was just messing with you.

“you okay there?” he asked, moving his face in front of yours to see if you were okay. you snapped out of your thoughts as his face was just a few inches away and jolted back. “ah yeah, i’m… fine.” he chuckled before standing straight and walking ahead. ‘cute’ he said as he walked past you and placed his hand on the top of your head, slightly ruffling it.

“he called me cute.” was all you could think of for the the rest of the day and the up coming days too. you had a sickening grin on your face as the words replayed in your mind and jiyoo started to grow worried. “are you fantasising about my brother again?” she asked in a disapproving tone. you looked at her, grin still on your face. “no.”

it was a friday night when jiyoo asked you to have a sleepover at hers, and obviously, you couldn’t decline. not only did you miss spending time with her, you got to see jaemin the next morning, voice probably five times deeper than it usually was, for free. how were you going to miss out on that opportunity.

when dinner came by, the two of you decided to eat with jiyoo’s parents as they requested you to do so. as you waited for the food, you wondered where jaemin was. jiyoo must’ve caught on as she kicked you from under the table. “ow??” you yelped out, sending her an irritated stare. “sorry, your mind seemed to be thinking of stuff it shouldn’t.” she warned you with a grin. you rolled your eyes, though you couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.

soon enough he joined the table, and as if your wishes were granted, he took a seat next to you. you studied his appearance for a moment. it seemed like he had just woken up from a nap. his hair was still messy and eyes weren’t fully open. he turned to his side and noticed you before sending you a smile.

as dinner began, you couldn’t help but feel the need to try and look as appealing as you could for the guy next to you. as everyone started to have conversations, you noticed how quiet jaemin was. you turned to your side to see that he was looking at you already. “is there something wrong jaemin?” you asked him.

instead of giving you an answer, he leaned in and you almost panicked. “what are you-” you were about to panic, until you felt his soft hand brush a strand of hair behind your ear, lingering there for a bit longer. “sorry, it was almost getting in your food and it kind of bothered me.” he gave you a smile before going back to his food. if only he knew how much that affected you.

you excused yourself to go the bathroom and splashed some water over your face and you felt it burn. “this is insane.” you muttered. how could a guy you barely knew have such an effect on you when you haven’t even had a proper conversation with him yet? it was strange.

“you alright?” you heard the deep voice you had grown used to behind you speak. still, you jolted your and turned around to see jaemin leaning next to the door, sending you a soft smile. “yeah, i’m okay.” you said, holding onto your cheeks to still feel them burning.

there was a silence that was rather awkward and unsettling. “i… should we go back?” you asked him in hopes of escaping this situation. instead he moved himself so that he was in front of the door, allowing no access in or out. “i know you like me, (—).” he said, as if it was the most obvious thing ever. “you… do?” you asked, slightly taken aback by the sudden mention of it. non the less, he nodded.

“i also know how jiyoo has told you how i’m off limits.” he said, and you slowly nodded along, wondering what he wanted out of you. “she told me the same thing when it came to you.” at this point you were trying to decipher if his words had any double meaning with the way he was speaking.

he took a step closer so that he was in the bathroom with you, and brought his face closer than you’re used to. “good thing i’m not one to follow stupid rules, and even better that i think you’re cute too.” he suddenly confessed. just like that he left the bathroom, not before he send you a teasing grin as you stood there with your mouth open in shock. he likes me too. was all you could think of at that moment.

having a best friend with a hot brother who is off limits is always going to be disappointed. but having a best friend with a hot brother who is willing to break those rules for you is different. and just like your best friend said, out of all the people in the world, you had fallen for her brother. the same brother who was currently laying with you in his bed as he spoke about his day to you. there truly were no limits when it came to na jaemin.

It was time for cheerleading tryouts and Lottie had spent the whole week preparing for it; she'd had some experience with it back home, at least the gymnastics part of it. She hadn't been to a gym in a few months since moving here though, so she was worried she'd be a bit rusty.

"Say Kim, are we just going to ignore the elephant in the room about Yoongi being a student here?" Jiyoon asked her leader as she retouched her bright red lipstick.

"When the time is right we will tell her," she responded, not concerned about the situation.

Some may think she was trying to do this out of jealousy, which was a in part true. Kim would be lying if hearing how wonderfully Yoongi had treated the foreigner over the summer, especially when all they had done the year prior was necking and petting with really no smushy stuff going on. However, she also did not like that Yoongi had led Lottie on this way, not writing to her or maybe using some extra won for a long distance call? As far as she had come to know, the foreigner was gone for him, she genuinely cared for him and she didn't strike Kim as the snobby type, so she knew she wouldn't have judged him for not being someone fancy.

"Kim?" Nayeon called, she replied with a simple "mhm?."

"How come we never tried out for the cheer team?" Nayeon asked. "No thanks, I prefer to do my screaming in private," the leader stated whilst chuckling, making the others do so as well.

"Hey girls!" Lottie greeted the group, they all greeted back, she sat and talked to them for a bit to ease her nerves.

Not too far away the T-Birds were leaving the school for the day, someone was having a party in Ilsan, so they decided to go and crash at Namjoon's after. The aforementioned and Yoongi were the first out, then Hobi and Jimin as they talked about a way to get some chicks tonight, the oldest was the last one out of the building, hearing some of the commotion he saw that cheerleading try outs were about to start.

The first one up was someone who looked foreign, her skin was a pretty light caramel color, and her hair a rich dark brown, she was a sight among the other girls trying out, then again he'd flirted and necked with most of the girls trying out anyway.

"Yah, hyung are you coming or did you decide looking at cheerleaders is more important?" Namjoon called for him.

Jin cackled, shaking his head at his annoying dongsaeng. Paper shakers weren't something he usually looked at, at least not as of recently, the others were more prone to it, according to Hobi, their flexibility came in handy in bed. He decided he would keep her existence to himself for now, wanting to meet her before any of them.

"Get bent, Joon," the older shot back as he jogged up to Yoongi's car, jumping onto the back seat and subsequently driving away. Jin couldn't help but look back and see her being lifted up to the top of a pyramid. He didn't know why he was so hooked on her. He decided he would clue his friends in once he had at least gotten to talk to her, since they always shared stories about their latest conquests anyway.

Try outs had just ended and Lottie was talking to Wendy, she'd made the team! Which meant she had to know when the first and following pep rallies would be, to say she was stoked was an understatement. As her conversation continued however, she couldn't help but feel like she had a pair of eyes watching her during try outs and now she had that same feeling, she found who was responsible for that when she was tapped on the shoulder, she saw Wendy's eyes widen which prompted her to turn halfway so she could see who was behind her.

"Hey!" A handsome blond greeted her, he had the cutest boxy smile. "Hi!" She greeted back, turning to fully face him.

"I guess I'll give you a bell tonight, later gator!" Wendy said behind her before walking away.

"Name's Kim Taehyung! I couldn't help but notice how killer of a performance you just had," he complimented her, "I'm sure I'll score a ton of goals if I got you as my paper shaker," the cute boy stated confidently, a smirk on his face that made him look absolutely dream like.

Lottie giggled at his words, the pink rising to her cheeks, "well, if you're one of the players I'll make sure to cheer loudly for you," she shook the pom poms in her hand, "my name's Charlotte Hutchins, but everyone calls me Lottie," she extended her hand to him, he took it and left a small kiss on it, very gentleman like.

"Well, I'm happy to have you on the team Lottie, although, it might be hard to focus with a knock out like you on the side lines," he added, not letting go of her hand, he started caressing her knuckles with his thumb, a very comforting gesture that had Lottie blushing.

She heard some other guys calling his name, she assumed it was his teammates. They both looked back and he sighed looking at her with that pretty smile again.

"Anyway, I hope you cheer loudest for me, I'm the captain so I'll need that extra support," he stated, winking at the brunette, making her cheeks redder. "I can't hang for long, but I'm sure I'll see you at the pep rally next week, baby?" Taehyung asked her, Lottie could only reply with a nod.

As she watched him get to his friends, she realized how dumb it was to be pinning for a guy who she would probably never see again, so she decided to focus on the now. If her and Yoongi were meant to be, they will find each other again later, for now, she couldn't wait for Wendy's call later so she could ask her more about Kim Taehyung and what he was like.
