The cool air clung to your skin as you approached the dorm building, the city lights casting a faint glow on the streets below. You clutched your phone in your hand, rereading Gaeul's text for what felt like the tenth time.
"Come over tonight! The girls miss you, and honestly, so do I. It's been too long. We need some bonding time!
A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. Gaeul had always been your biggest cheerleader, your confidante, and your best friend wrapped into one. Being only a year younger, the two of you had grown up inseparable, sharing everything from childhood secrets to late-night talks about dreams and fears. Now, with her thriving as a member of IVE, you cherished every opportunity to spend time with her and her friends.
But tonight, there was something else lingering in the back of your mind—someone else. Yujin.
The memories of your quiet, intense fling with Yujin played in your mind like a film reel, each scene more vivid than the last. It wasn't something either of you planned; it just happened. A connection that neither of you could ignore, no matter how much you tried to convince yourselves otherwise.
The door swung open before you could knock, and Gaeul's beaming face greeted you. "Finally!" she exclaimed, pulling you into a tight hug. "I was starting to think you got lost."
"You know I wouldn't miss this," you said, squeezing her back. "Besides, you'd hunt me down if I didn't show up."
"Damn right I would," she laughed, tugging you inside. "The girls are super excited to see you. It's been forever since your last visit."
The moment you stepped inside, the familiar warmth of the dorm wrapped around you. Wonyoung was stretched out on the couch, lazily flipping through TV channels, while Rei and Liz were huddled together, arguing over the rules of a card game. Leeseo was sitting cross-legged on the floor, her phone in hand, scrolling through social media.
"Unnie!" Wonyoung called out, her face lighting up as she jumped to her feet and rushed over to hug you. "You're finally here!"
"Finally," Rei echoed, smiling as she set her cards down. "Gaeul's been talking about you nonstop."
"It's been too quiet without Gaeul's sister around," Liz teased, giving you a playful nudge.
You felt a warmth spread through your chest at their welcome, but your eyes drifted to the corner of the room, where Yujin stood leaning casually against the wall. Her gaze met yours, and in that instant, the air between you seemed to hum with unspoken tension. She didn't rush over like the others, but her small, knowing smile sent a shiver down your spine.
"Hey," she said softly, her voice cutting through the noise like a thread pulling you closer.
"Hey," you replied, your pulse quickening.
— — — — —
It all started on one of your earlier visits to the dorm. Gaeul had invited you over to celebrate a milestone in the group's journey, and the night had been filled with laughter, food, and music. You remembered feeling a bit out of place at first, watching the girls interact with such ease, their bond palpable. But Gaeul made sure you were included in every joke, every story.
That night, you had stepped out onto the small balcony to get some fresh air, the city lights twinkling below like scattered stars. You leaned on the railing, letting the cool breeze wash over you, enjoying the quiet escape from the lively chatter inside.
"You okay?" a voice had asked, breaking the silence.
You turned to find Yujin standing in the doorway, her silhouette framed by the warm light from inside. She stepped out, joining you at the railing, her shoulder brushing against yours. The casual contact sent a small thrill through you, though you quickly pushed the feeling aside.
"Yeah, just needed a breather," you said, offering her a small smile. "It's a little overwhelming, but in a good way."
She nodded, her gaze drifting out over the cityscape. "I get that. Sometimes, it's nice to just...be still."
The two of you stood there in silence for a while, the sounds of the city below filling the quiet. It was a comfortable silence, one that didn't need to be filled with words. But eventually, Yujin spoke again, her voice softer, more introspective.
"You know," she began, "it's rare to find someone who doesn't expect anything from you. Someone who just...lets you be."
You glanced at her, noticing the way her brows knitted together, as if she were wrestling with thoughts she wasn't used to sharing. "I guess we all need that sometimes," you said gently. "Someone who sees us for who we are, not what we can do for them."
Yujin turned to face you then, her eyes searching yours. "Yeah," she murmured, a small, wistful smile tugging at her lips. "It's nice. Being around you feels like that."
The words hung in the air between you, heavy with meaning. And before either of you could second-guess it, you leaned in, your lips meeting in a soft, tentative kiss. It wasn't planned or rehearsed; it was spontaneous and real, a quiet confession shared under the stars.
When you pulled back, her eyes were wide, filled with uncertainty and something else—something that mirrored your own feelings.
"I..." she started, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean to—"
"I know," you said, cutting her off gently. "But I'm glad you did."
That moment was the beginning of something neither of you could define. It wasn't a relationship, but it wasn't just a passing fancy either. It was something more, something that lingered in the stolen glances and secret smiles you shared whenever you visited the dorm.
— — — — —
Back in the present, the living room was alive with laughter as the group dove into a game of charades. Gaeul was your partner, and her over-the-top miming had you laughing so hard, tears pricked at the corners of your eyes.
"Come on!" Gaeul groaned, flailing her arms as she tried to convey octopus. "You're supposed to be good at this!"
"You look more like a flailing chicken," you teased, wiping your eyes as you guessed correctly at the last second.
The room erupted in laughter, and Gaeul threw herself onto the couch in mock defeat. "I can't believe you got that."
But even amidst the fun, you were hyper-aware of Yujin's presence. She was watching you from across the room, her eyes soft but intense, as if she could see right through the façade of the game to the emotions you were trying to keep hidden.
"Truth or dare?" Wonyoung called out, shifting the game to a more playful and dangerous territory.
When it was Yujin's turn, she glanced at you, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Dare."
Wonyoung grinned, leaning forward. "I dare you to tell us about your first kiss."
The room erupted into cheers and teasing, but Yujin kept her gaze on you, her smile turning softer, more intimate. "It was...unexpected," she said slowly. "But it felt right. Like everything else disappeared for a moment."
Your heart thudded in your chest, and you quickly looked away, focusing on the glass of water in your hands.
— — — — —
The tension between you and Yujin had been simmering all night, and when you slipped away to the kitchen for a moment alone, you weren't surprised when she followed.
Her hands were on your waist before you could turn, her body pressing gently against yours, grounding you in the present.
"I've been waiting for this," she whispered, her lips brushing the shell of your ear.
"You're playing a dangerous game," you murmured, though you didn't move away.
"Maybe I like the danger," she countered, turning you in her arms to face her. Her eyes searched yours, filled with longing and something deeper.
Her lips captured yours in a kiss that was anything but tentative. It was a release, a culmination of every stolen moment, every unspoken word. Her hands slid under your shirt, her touch sending a shiver down your spine as the world outside the kitchen faded into insignificance.
"Yujin," you gasped, breaking the kiss to catch your breath, your forehead resting against hers.
"We can't keep pretending this doesn't matter," she said, her voice trembling. "Not anymore."
"I know," you whispered, your hands tightening around her.
— — — — —
The laughter from the living room faded into the background as you stood in the dimly lit kitchen, Yujin's hands resting lightly on your waist. The warmth of her touch seeped through your clothes, grounding you in the moment. Her eyes, dark and filled with unspoken longing, held yours, and for a moment, it felt as though the rest of the world didn't exist.
"We can't do this here," you whispered, though the breathlessness in your voice betrayed the conflict within you.
Yujin's lips curled into a soft, teasing smile, her thumb brushing gentle circles against your hip. "I know," she murmured, her voice low, sending a shiver down your spine. "But I couldn't stay away."
Her words wrapped around your heart, tugging at the very core of your resolve. The tension between you had been simmering for months, unspoken but palpable in every glance, every accidental touch. And now, here you were, on the precipice of giving in.
You leaned in slightly, the space between you diminishing until her breath mingled with yours. The air grew thick, charged with anticipation. Before you could think better of it, Yujin's lips brushed against yours in a tentative kiss, a soft press that quickly deepened. Her hands tightened on your waist, pulling you closer as the kiss intensified, slow and deliberate, as though savoring every second.
The sound of muffled laughter from the living room was a distant hum, barely registering over the pounding of your heart. Yujin's fingers slid up your back, tracing the curve of your spine through the thin fabric of your shirt. Every touch sent sparks skittering across your skin, igniting a fire that burned brighter with each passing second.
"We'll have more time later," Yujin whispered against your lips, her voice trembling with restrained desire.
You nodded, breathless, reluctantly pulling away. "We should go back before they notice."
Her eyes lingered on you for a moment longer, filled with a promise that sent your pulse racing. With one final glance, you both stepped back into the living room, trying to mask the heat that still simmered between you.
— — — — —
Gaeul greeted you with a wide grin as you rejoined the group. "There you are! We thought you got lost."
"Just needed some water," you said, settling back down beside her. "What's next?"
"Codenames," Rei announced, holding up the box with a triumphant grin. "Let's see who the real spymaster is."
The group quickly divided into teams, the energy in the room shifting as everyone focused on the game. Gaeul was beside you, her competitive spirit coming alive as she strategized her next move. Wonyoung's exaggerated guesses had everyone in fits of laughter, while Liz's dramatic clues left the room in suspense.
But even amidst the chaos, you couldn't help but feel Yujin's gaze on you. Every so often, your eyes would meet, and the world around you would blur, the tension crackling between you like a silent current. Her subtle smiles, the way her fingers tapped against her knee, as if itching to reach for you, kept your heart pounding.
"Gotcha!" Gaeul shouted, breaking your reverie as she pointed triumphantly at the board. "We win!"
"Luck," Rei groaned, throwing her hands up in defeat. "Pure luck."
"Skill," Gaeul corrected, winking at you. "Right, sis?"
You laughed, nodding. "Definitely skill."
As the game wound down, the energy in the room shifted, growing more subdued as the night stretched on. One by one, the girls began excusing themselves, retreating to their rooms.
"I'm exhausted," Wonyoung yawned, stretching her arms above her head. "I'm heading to bed."
"Me too," Liz added, nudging Rei. "Goodnight, everyone."
"Night," you and Gaeul called out in unison, watching as they disappeared down the hall.
Soon, it was just you, Gaeul, and Yujin left in the living room. The atmosphere was quieter now, the hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen the only sound filling the space.
"I think I'll head to bed too," Yujin said softly, standing from her seat. Her eyes met yours for a brief moment, a silent promise lingering between you. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," you replied, your voice steady despite the fluttering in your chest.
— — — — —
As Yujin disappeared down the hall, the dorm fell into a deeper silence. You leaned back against the couch, exhaling slowly, the weight of the night pressing against you. Gaeul shifted beside you, her gaze steady and knowing.
"You think you're being sneaky, don't you?" she teased, her voice light but filled with amusement.
You turned to her, eyebrows raised in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
She chuckled softly, nudging you with her shoulder. "I've known about you and Yujin for a while now."
Your heart skipped a beat. "You... you knew?"
Gaeul nodded, her smile turning softer, more affectionate. "Yeah, it wasn't that hard to figure out."
"But how?" you asked, still processing her words, your mind racing to all the moments you thought you'd been discreet.
"There was this one night," Gaeul began, settling in comfortably, "when Yujin and I had a little to drink. Just enough to get her talking. She's pretty weak to alcohol, you know."
You nodded, listening intently.
"She started talking about someone she had feelings for. She didn't say your name at first, but she kept going on about how this person made her feel like she could be herself, like she didn't have to be perfect all the time." Gaeul's eyes twinkled with the memory. "And then, without realizing it, she said your name."
You sat up straighter, shocked. "She did?"
Gaeul grinned. "Yeah, she didn't even notice. But I did. And from then on, I started watching. You guys weren't as subtle as you thought. I even caught you making out in the kitchen once."
Your cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Gaeul!"
She laughed, raising her hands in mock surrender. "It was gross but in a cute way. Honestly, I just want you to be happy."
A warmth spread through your chest at her words. "Thanks, Gaeul."
She smiled, leaning her head on your shoulder.
— — — — —
Once the dorm had quieted down, you found yourself standing outside Yujin's door, your heart thudding in your chest. The anticipation of being alone with her again filled you with both excitement and nervous energy. You knocked softly, and Yujin opened the door almost immediately, her eyes softening as she took you in.
"Hey," she said, her voice quiet and inviting.
"Hey," you replied, stepping inside. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow from a small lamp casting warm shadows on the walls. It felt cozy, intimate—a world away from the bustling dorm outside.
Yujin closed the door behind you, and for a moment, neither of you spoke. Instead, she reached out, her fingers intertwining with yours as she guided you to sit on the bed. The silence between you was comfortable, filled with the weight of everything unsaid but understood.
"What are we doing?" she asked softly, her thumb brushing over the back of your hand.
You took a deep breath, meeting her gaze. "I don't know," you admitted, squeezing her hand gently. "But I know I don't want to stop."
Yujin's smile widened, her eyes glistening with something unspoken. "Me neither," she whispered, leaning in slightly, her forehead resting against yours.
Before either of you could say more, the door burst open with a loud bang, and Gaeul marched in, grinning from ear to ear. She threw herself onto the bed between you two with all the dramatic flair of a little sister who knew exactly what she was doing.
"What are we talking about?" Gaeul asked, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she wiggled her way between you and Yujin, making herself comfortable.
"Gaeul!" you exclaimed, half-laughing, half-exasperated, as she sprawled out across the bed, pulling the blanket over herself.
"What?" she said innocently, looking up at the ceiling. "I'm curious."
Yujin chuckled, shaking her head, clearly amused. "We were just talking," she said, glancing at you with a knowing smile.
"Mm-hmm," Gaeul hummed, snuggling deeper into the blanket. "Sure, sure. But seriously, I'm glad you guys found each other. It's cute. Gross, but cute."
Before you could respond, the door opened again, and Wonyoung peeked in, her eyes lighting up when she saw the three of you. "Ooh, a secret meeting? Without me?" she pouted, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation.
Rei followed close behind, raising an eyebrow. "What's going on in here?"
Liz and Leeseo appeared right after, each carrying their own blankets and pillows, grinning as they entered the room.
"Sleepover in Yujin's room!" Liz announced, dropping her pillow onto the floor and flopping down.
"I knew something was up," Leeseo said, setting her blanket down and joining Liz. "You guys can't hide anything from us."
You exchanged a glance with Yujin, who looked equally surprised and amused by the sudden invasion.
"This wasn't exactly planned," Yujin said, but there was no trace of annoyance in her voice. Instead, she smiled, scooting over to make room for the others.
"It is now," Wonyoung declared, climbing onto the bed next to Gaeul. "There's no way we're missing out on the fun."
Rei grabbed a spot on the floor, leaning back against the wall with a satisfied grin. "This is perfect. We haven't done a proper sleepover in ages."
Gaeul turned to you, her expression smug. "See? It's not just me who thinks you two are cute. Now, let's make this an official sleepover."
You couldn't help but laugh as the room filled with chatter and the sound of blankets being spread out. Yujin leaned in close to you, her voice low enough for only you to hear. "Well, so much for being alone."
You smiled, squeezing her hand. "This isn't so bad."
Yujin's eyes softened, and she pressed a gentle kiss to your temple. "It's perfect."
As the night wore on, the room became a cozy nest of warmth and laughter. Gaeul told embarrassing stories from your childhood, Wonyoung shared funny anecdotes from their tour, and Rei attempted to start a pillow fight that quickly devolved into chaos.
You leaned against Yujin, her arm draped around your shoulders, feeling the weight of the day melt away. It wasn't the private moment you had imagined, but it was something even better—being surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who mattered most.
And as the early hours of the morning crept in, you realized that these moments, chaotic and unexpected, were the ones you would treasure the most. Together, with Yujin and your newfound family, everything felt right.
The future could wait. For now, this was enough.

tell emil you're bored of him and see what he does lol
alternatively, sneak out of the castle in the dead of night and never return
ON THAT THOUGHT, what would he do if you sleepwalk??? like maybe where you walk to reflects what you want to do but cant, for example sometimes it's to the library because you didnt get to read for like a week
i imagine emil would follow you a bit to see where you go to determine what he should do next day
and then one day it's just you trying to exit the castle, he finally open the door to see and you just walk further and further with no sign of stopping
he would panic so hard lol
i think if you were a really bad sleepwalker who kept trying to leave him he would tie you to the bed tbh. like you're not allowed to leave that's silly.
cw;; violence, yandere tendencies, gore, violence towards reader
pathetic emil step aside we have full yandere mode emil.
Tumblr media
"im bored."
"im sorry what was that?"
"im bored. you're boring me."
emil lifted his head from his book and smiled at you a closed practiced smile.
"let me finish this page and i can find something to entertain you."
"no. i mean this is boring. us. you never let me leave, you only care about sex, and i don't have anyone to talk to."
emil's lips twitched.
"im sorry you feel-"
"i want to leave."
he put down his book completely and stared at you intensely. it was a gaze usually preserved for people he wanted dead.
"you don't mean that."
"yes i do."
you got up from the garden chair quickly followed by emil standing up.
"we can go somewhere else. we could go on a vacation. I'll hire you some approved friends."
"no. I've been thinking about this for a while. I'm telling you I'm leaving."
emil's hand came down on the table hard.
"no."
you could see his bright pink eyes darken as his face went blank. you weren't usually scared of your husband but you always knew you had reason to be. right now you certainly were. you tried to bolt for the entrance of the gazebo but all emil had to do was grab your arm with his inhuman strength and you couldn't move.
"emil it hurts..." you tried to whine pathetically but it didn't even reach his ears.
emil kicked you hard on the leg and you stumbled forward almost falling on the ground if not for him holding your arm up.
"i think you've had too much freedom. ive been too nice. i need to fix that."
"no- no- emil i was just joking! it was a joke!"
he looked truly intimidating, not even his signature sadistic smile on his terrifying features.
"you need to remember who loves you."
with his hand still holding your arm he stepped on your leg. you screamed in pain as he pulled your arm as leverage until your leg gave a sickening snap. but that wasn't enough as tears and pain overwhelmed your vision you felt him smash the broken bone with his foot. again. again. aga-
you lost consciousness due to the shock.
when you woke up you were in your shared bedroom but not on the large comfortable bed, instead you were laying on a dog bed with the most horrible pain in your leg while the other was chained to... a cage usually meant for monsters.

more more more more aftg show bloopers (p 4?? I think?) whoop whoop de fuckin whoop
Neil's actor being a huge Duolingo dork and in the behind the scenes while the other actors are fooling around between takes you can often see him with his head bent and hear the little 'ping!'s coming from his phone
also during late night shoots, as it gets closer to midnight he always has a point where he's like SHIT my Duolingo streak. and then just blocks out everyone while his fingers fly over his screen
(fans make compilations of him proudly showing his Duolingo streak to the camera and the number grows as the seasons progress)
(he definitely is the kinda bitch who cares more about maintaining the streak than actually learning languages)
actually omg while we're on the topic of languages
Kevin's actor tenderly reciting his French lines to Matt's actor and Matt's actor is just smitten. and he goes "say something else, love" and Kevin's actor strokes his cheek while saying another one of his lines and Matt swoons
(then Kevin's actor turns to the camera and goes "I just told him that he's a disappointment and is going to get his ass handed to him by ravens if he doesn't do exactly as I say" and, from the ground, Matt's actor goes "hell yeah you did. talk dirty to me any day of the week you sexy, sexy man")
coach's actor is always swearing to the point where they implement a swear jar...really it's just something for the kids to jokingly rag on him about, but he goes with it, and every so often they'll empty the jar to buy the cast and crew pizza
they're filming outside at night and it's cold and in between takes Matt's Aaron's and Renee's actors are all huddled together for warmth and Matt's actor gets pulled aside to get his makeup touched up and the other two just shriek at the absence of his heat and catch up to him to tuck themselves against him again
Andrew needs to snap his fingers in one scene but everyone finds out that day that his actor doesn't know how to snap so he has a little impromptu snapping lesson and of course it turns into everyone else trying to one-up each other with their snapping abilities
Nicky's actor telling everyone what he's going to steal from set (will literally say"[about Allison's bathrobe] damn that shit soft as hell. Ive been needing a new bathrobe actually. I'm stealing this" or "I'm stealing this lighter/bandana/sunglasses/etc") but because his humor is so dry everyone thinks he's joking. until months later. when the prop department can't find shit
Renee's actress is doing something completely mundane but Neil's and Allison's actors start narrating what she's doing like they're in a nature documentary (always with Australian accents for some reason??)
"and our specimen now reclines herself vertically on a piece of furniture us humans know as 'a desk.' this clearly less-developed creature seems not to understand the purpose of such an object. but given that this is her first time outside her natural habitat (the jungle) her lack of familiarity with modern technology is to be expected"
Renee's actress: *flips them off*
"ah and here we witness one of the most common behaviors of this specimen. specialists have dubbed it 'flipping the bird,' and explain it as a nonverbal expression of affection" "oh fuck off"
photo from another cold night-shoot and it's of Matt's and Dan's actors, she's standing in front of him zipped up in his hoodie, just her head poking out and they're having a conversation with other castmates like it's the most normal thing in the world, looking the very image of the couple they play
so much glorious content from shooting the dorm sleepover scene. the most popular thing to come from it is a picture from after they wrapped where the cast and some members of the crew had moved even closer to each other amid all the blankets and are asleep on top of each other
Andrew's actor will sometimes actually eat the ice cream he's given instead of just pretending to eat it, and halfway through the scene he casually mentions that he's lactose intolerant and sends the crew into a worried frenzy
if you haven't clocked it yet, these bitches are competitive. and one day, one thing led to another, and soon a bunch of the actors are all being filmed having a plank-holding competition. Dan's actress is the first to drop and she gets booed at for it because "you're an ex-stripper where tf is that upper body strength?"
she flips them off and goes to sit on Kevin's actor, hoping to squash his plank, but instead he starts doing push ups with her on his back. she grins
(Rikos actor wins that competition btw. and Neil's actor goes on a rant about "we succumbed to the ENEMY? a RAVEN? your characters would be ashamed of you" (he also lost?))
Allison's actress pretending to do a get-ready-with-me using all the stuff on Allison's vanity
Wymack's actor falling asleep in The Dad Pose™ when they're shooting a scene on the bus. and everybody gathers in to take pictures
when Kevin and Neil get all up in each other's faces their actors will pretend like they're going to kiss each other
not really a blooper but just all the actors for the foxes and the ravens mingling together in between takes and it looks so wrong
give me all the actors constantly taking the piss out of their characters
for ex during a scene where the monsters are in the car on the way to Edens, Nicky's actor looks towards the backseat where everyone is in character and goes wow what a fun crowd we are you'd never believe we're about to hit the club
night shoots are a. struggle. for Dan's actress. and the others love to take videos of her just standing on her mark with the most spaced out expression on her face
Andrew's and Neil's actors are shooting one of their typical intense, deep scenes and after one take, as soon as "cut" is called, Andrew's actor grabs Neil's face and starts serenading him with the song that's been stuck in his head all day
Renee's actress getting scolded for sneaking snacks into her costume
when Nicky's actor messes up a line (and he's the least likely of everyone to do it) he starts spewing Spanish
Andrew's actor constantly teasing his brother and Katelyn's actress whenever they have scenes together
like the two of them will just be talking together in between takes and Andrews actor will be behind the camera recording them and saying shit like "look at that MINYARD RIZZ" (or he'll use their actual last name) "hey btw [Katelyn's actor] I taught him everything he knows"
that scene where the foxes are rushing out of the dorm to check on their destroyed cars and Matt's actor just faceplants (Neil's actor: "wow. the dedication")
in one scene or other Allison's actress is drinking an iced drink and during one take she just keeps calmly shaking the ice around in her cup until one by one everyone cracks
in one scene Allison's actress is wearing sunglasses. and in between takes she lies down and on camera you can see Kevin and Matt's actors whispering trying to figure out whether or not she's sleeping because they can't see her eyes
Aaron's actor always using Neil's actor as a pillow during car scenes because they're always next to each other and they're actually hella tight irl
the kids love to steal any props that coach's actor needs to use (pens clipboards etc) before they start rolling just so they can watch him try to subtly fidget trying to find his prop before they get to the point in the scene where he actually needs it
all the actors just taking pictures together in the most brutal settings on set.
like Neil's makeup has his face all busted and everyone wants a selfie with him. they all have a photoshoot with the trashed cars. they have another one in front of the "happy 19th birthday junior" set. Neil is tied up at The Nest while they change his hair and Jean's and Riko's actors take selfies with him. another photoshoot with Neil handcuffed in the police car. all these settings in terrible scenes and the actors are in front of them with grins and peace signs
they're terrible.

Random parasocial phan lore speculation; do you think that when they had seperate bedrooms they were actually sleeping in different beds? Bc ive definitely seen the sentiment floating around since BIG first came out, and even before, that the different bedrooms were just for show, but to me that just doesnt make sense. Like yeah they were both very closeted but also when they moved to london they were also extremely broke and it doesnt make sense to me that initially they only rented a two bedroom apt for show. Like i know this is the "whole fake apartment" duo we're talking about here but that was when they were already mega rich and has started building a million dollar forever home. When you're broke and 21 years old even internalised homophobia and being closeted doesnt seem to me like a good enough reason to rent a whole extra room that you dont plan on using. Personally i think when they were younger they very much utelised having seperate areas for themselves. I think dans room was His room. His own space. And phils was the same. And they probably just picked a room at night and slept there. Or slept in their own beds. I know we joke about dnp being completely codependent, but its also very clear from an external pov that they have a really healthy relationship. And they have worked, lived and spent all their free time together basically since dan was 18. I dont think its possible for any couple, not even dnp to do that without having strong boundaries for personal space, and the physical space to enact that. I dont think they really started to cohabitate in that sense until like. 2016/17. They 100% shared a bedroom in the second london apartment and they obviously definitely share a room now, but i dont think that was the case in the early days at all. And I think probably even now in the phouse they have their own spaces where they can exist by themselves and text each other from across the phouse.
(P.s they uploaded right as I was typing this which is so rude of them to interupt my important thoughts)
to no surprise i've yapped about this before, as someone who is rocking a happy healthy separate bedroom longterm relationship!
yeah i've always been firmly in the camp that having their separate spaces has protected their own sanity. they both really are introverts with different habits about how to keep a space. thinking specifically about sleeping - they are large men, one of whom we've learned snores very loudly. their manchester and london beds were doubles (maybe queens?) which, while fine for some snuggly nights, does not provide much space to spread out when you're long-limbed.
other reasons i think they prob slept separately a lot - phil has said he likes to sleep with many pillows, while dan's manchester and london beds (which definitely seemed used (not used in a weird way just like consistently rumpled whenever we saw it which was often for many years)) always only had 2 pillows max. phil's london bed had 4. they had some text exchange that i can't be bothered to track down in one of the wdapteos about hearing a beeping noise in the night or something, and phil saying he thinks it's something in the kitchen. to me, it read like what you'd text someone when you're in different bedrooms in the same home. plus, the different hotel rooms on tour (instead of just one room w/ two beds, which would be a totally normal thing to do). i know it seems like they often ended up in one another's rooms, but they could spend their evening together and then sleep separately if one of them really needed the rest. snoring can truly drive a person mad.
but also, all that aside, i do think that no matter what, they would have had two bedrooms in manchester & london to protect their own privacy while they were closeted. there's just no world in which they would have moved into a one-bedroom apartment for their first london spot. i doubt that was ever even a question. they were closeted to what seems to be almost everyone in their lives. meanwhile, they had guests over fairly often, and their careers were filmed out of their own home. trying to hide a one bedroom apt would have been way too much of a risk, and they basically wouldn't have been able to have anyone over without outing themselves.
i agree that it seems they shared a bedroom in that second london apt, bc we never saw an actual phil room, only the set, and barely saw the 'dan' one. and it does seem like now in the phouse, the 'dan room' is the primary bedroom. but i'd imagine phil also views the green room as 'his' in that his wardrobe seems to be in there, it's a space he can retreat to, and it's a separate bed he can sleep in. ok long answer done!
tldr yes i think they've taken advantage of sleeping in separate beds

ever since writing the bf felix hcs, ive thought about doing them for all the members....... a banger idea imo
random bf skz headcanons.
Tumblr media
bang chan:
he's often busy, but texts you a lot during the day and night, to make sure you're okay.
whenever he's not busy, he's cooking homemade meals for you. you always tell him how he's spoiling you by doing this, to which he smiles (totally showing off those cute dimples on purpose.)
you two would definitely wear cute matching tshirts and hoodies.
you absolutely love to ruffle his hair, especially when he's got his natural curls. he doesn't get why you like his hair so much, but he thinks it feels nice when you run your fingers through it.
lee know:
soonie, doongie and dori all love you. it kinda makes your boyfriend jealous (but don't worry, it goes both ways.)
you often go visit cat cafés together and pet cute kitties, totally making minho's beloved cats jealous when you come home and they smell the stranger cats on your clothes.
sometimes he says the most random and kind of unsettling things at random times. while others would find him weird, you respond in the exact same way, totally enabling each other’s chaotic and random vibes.
the things you two talk about make no fucking sense sometimes.
he says he likes watching movies by himself, but you've definitely seen his slight smile when you say you want to join.
changbin:
he'll gladly flex his muscles for you if you ask him to.
all jokes aside, you two often work out together. imagine you trying to do a pull-up and you find it difficult...
he'll come help by lifting you up by your waist 🤭
whenever you don't work out or go out to eat together, you watch either really shitty or good horror movies.
it's always a 50/50% chance if the movie is good or not. usually it's changbin choosing what you're gonna watch and he has a tendency to choose kind of cheesy and bad ones.
but in the chance that it's a good, scary one, he'll hold you close so you don't get scared.
hyunjin:
you can definitely expect to be a model - or at least inspiration - for his paintings. he always tells you that you're beautiful and that he wants to paint something that reminds him of you.
other times you both have chaotic energy and go terrorize the public with it. like that time hyunjin wanted to record a video of you dancing the choreography to lalalala by a fountain and then you proceeded to slip and fall into the water by accident. he has never laughed that much before in his life (after making sure you were okay, of course.)
you’re both total drama queens, but that’s what makes the two of you so good and funny together.
sometimes, however, you have to remind your boyfriend to not side eye people. mostly because you’re scared he might get airfryed… again.
han:
most of the time you two just chill and lay around, occasionally showing each other a funny tiktok you found.
and then at other times you will go buy snacks and drinks, then put on a good anime and cuddle close under a cozy blanket.
✨ just introvert things ✨
whenever you have both decided you've been inside for too long, you'll go for a long walk to get fresh air. sometimes you'll even stop by a café and get a coffee (and maybe a slice of cake you can share too!)
and then back you go to chilling 🥹
felix:
he'll definitely bake brownies and other tasty things for you.
he looks expectantly at you as you taste what he's baked for you. don't upset him 🥺
you'll often play video games together.
felix tends to be a bit of a nerd in the games you two play, but you think it's cute. especially when he's secretly built something special in minecraft for you (probably from a build he saw on youtube)
you and felix go shopping for clothes as well.
he'll wait patiently outside the changing room while you're trying on clothes. and if you're ever in doubt about something, you can ask for his opinion.
seungmin:
coffee dates. always.
he gets very excited about grabbing a coffee with you. often he'll have a small gift with him.
you two always take cute selfies together.
you can definitely expect him to be the one to take the best photos of you. he's talented!
he's super quick to notice when you're feeling sad or angry. and he'll do his best to cheer you up again.
in:
you go on marvel marathons often. even though you've probably watched all the movies over 10 times.
he likes cooking, so you two do that a lot together. although, he often ends up breaking something... he's a bit clumsy.
he just (nervously) laughs about it while you're scolding him though.
you always end up forgiving him. you can't be mad at that smiley face.
you two will also just lay around and shop for clothes online, showing each other what you're planning on buying.

Thunderbolts* SPOILERS
this is a critique rant not a hate rant, ive been really excited to see it and liked the movie a lot i just felt like it needed something *extra*--ANYWAYS moving on
hi once again i am defrosting this blog from cryofreeze (winter soldier joke intended) to rant about winter soldier related things aka thunderbolts* this time (no this isnt just because i am a bucky stan)
also known as very sleep deprived english degree grad unleashing an analysis worm
OKAY sO-- i watched thunderbolts. it was good. the promos were better and whoever did them should get a hefty raise.
HOWEVER. despite the vibes of a great superhero action movie all being there, i think the main thing that this movie (and quite frankly most of marvel's recent new projects) is missing is good, solidly grounded characters and plot.
what do i mean by this? i mean characters who are fully immersed into the universes in which they operate, who interact with other people/elements of their world and face consequences and suffer collateral damage--either to themselves or loved ones/others--from the environment around them for their actions. in other words, despite being superhumans, i would like to see superhero protagonists who wrestle with push and pull factors from the solely "human" half of their universes, and their selves.
i said this was going to be a bucky post so it IS a bucky post, and i believe he's a prime example of a lack of groundedness in thunderbolts. ik a lot of people aren't sure how to feel about marvel's storyline decision to make him a congressman in CABNW, but i think one thing for sure is that they brought the congressman plotline elephant into the room and then proceeded to do everything in their power to ignore it. in the movie, he spends about 30 minutes within the system (the government) and then decides to up and leave it to go commit shenanigans with a bunch of outcast anti-hero renegades. and seemingly with little to no backlash or even response from the government that he's supposed to be working for. there's a moment where he decides not to bring in the rest of the thunderbolts as evidence to his congress friend (i forgot the dude's name) but aside from that there's no follow up between the government and bucky at all, not to ask for the evidence, nothing. not saying that the government in the movie is the "correct" party, based on valentina's character alone its obvious that the movie is deliberately trying to point out corruption, but to the eyes of the human public in the movie universe, the government still holds some kind of power (as can be seen at the end of the film where valentina is still able to leverage government power to cover up how the thunderbolts appeared in public.)
a pretty good contrast to how this movie handles the relationship between superheroes and real-world inspired human institutions (which superheroes either work for or against, or its complicated) would be how previous marvel movies handled similar situations, notably moments like natasha going to capitol hill at the end of CATWS and confronting the press/government officials. there's the idea of accountability being demanded for actions taken. while the first two avengers movies only briefly hint at human institutions attempting to control superheroes (nick fury and the world council), CACW brings it all to a head when the fight over the sokovia accords breaks out, precisely because the superheroes now have to wrestle with the collateral damage dealt to humanity as a result of their actions (which could be perceived as crimes. team iron man's pov in the movie is a good example of this consideration.) heck even later on, between TFATWS and CABNW, sam wilson constantly wrestles with the pressure of the government's influence upon his superhero identity as captain america. (side note but i really appreciate sam's character for this exact reason--his groundedness)
i'm not saying that superheroes need to be constantly reminded of their accountability to the institutions that are brought from the audience's reality into the film's--however, i believe there needs to be a balance--"groundedness"--for superhero films to remain appealing to the viewer. the concept of a superhero involves two parts: the super part, and the human part, and especially for the MCU, we find and relate to these characters because they look like us, and operate within a world that is like our own. unlike the case with fantasy-based movies like star wars, harry potter, or dystopian sci-fi worlds like that of the hunger games and divergent, viewers of superhero movies have a meta cognitive awareness that the world we see on the screen is our world, our present time--just with something extra added in. superheroes in the MCU are simply another element of everyday life, one that everyone is aware of and more or less accepts the existence of (for better or worse lol.) sometimes superheroes decide that they want to cooperate with real-world institutions, and sometimes maybe the lesson is that they should not, and should stand up against even that which is taught to be right because their morals guide them towards what they believe to be the greater good (team cap's pov in CACW.) whatever the case or conclusion might be, my point is that the very struggle of that decision is critical to make the superhero's story tangible and relatable to the viewer. as viewers, we want to see ourselves in superheroes, and we want to see part of their powers in ourselves as well, and to accomplish that aspect of the genre's appeal, it is necessary for the audience to see superheroes fighting our battles along with us.
in terms of how this movie DID address this well, i thought the greater themes of mental health portrayed through void/sentry's character were really powerful, conveying the scarily overpowering and crushing wave of darkness that can engulf us in our lower moments. the way the team managed to help bob defeat the void was a perfect combination of kick-ass action while also ultimately revealing that darkness isn't something that can be punched down (pun intended), but something that required a different kind of strength to defeat and heal. i think yelena was a good vessel to deliver this storyline since her character (unlike bucky and even walker) has no significant ties to "real world" issues in this film. but this just brings me back to how i wish we also saw more of the others' perspectives while they were in the void. that alone i feel would have contributed a greater aspect of groundedness to the team as a whole, to see them confront their most human and vulnerable moments.
anyways i might continue these thoughts in another post, im reaching like 21 hours awake at this point and my brain is slowing down to the point where i can't form more coherent thoughts let alone analytical ones so imma go sleep.
TLDR: someone needs to bring marvel characters back down from their space crises and remember that they're supposed to be protecting earth. you cant protect america if there is no america blah blah something friendly neighborhood spiderman :P
aight whoever reads this entire thing can lemme know what they think. good night

hello hello!!! random question before i get started on work haha
how do you come up with dialogue for ur hms comics? the back n forth of them feels so heavy and realistic. especially the casualness paired with the bleeding-brooding (alliteration for fun) violence makes everything just. hit. in a tragic and hopeless way imo. it’s so neat :0
i’ve been trying that kind of writing out a bit lately too. this is what i’ve managed with my iambic pentameter gang (hms but rain world iterator). MiND is being threatened by the rage pent up inside himself. and, strangely enough, it has the voice of HeART.
constructive feedback is welcome ^_^!
Tumblr media
once again, hello hello! sending good wishes and all :]. i love ur work ^_^ 💛
oooo hmm... this isnt something ive ever really thought about trying to explain, thank you for the question! big fan of the posing in the piece youve added here btw, i like the alliteration in 'heliocentric heathen' B:•∆
honestly the way i go about writing them isnt something i feel i can put into words with a clear structure of process... often with my comics it starts with me simply having a vague idea of 'i want to make a comic today', and drawing what feels right to lead into it. the words typically link in with the actions as well - i usually draw something, draw the next thing, write a bit of dialogue, draw the next thing, write more dialogue.... not in that exact order but the words always feel to be a reaction to the actions and the actions are a reaction to the words (and/or, words and actions work in tandem). people rarely talk in a vacuum, especially when theyre having the conversation in person, so i find it helpful to see the actions as part of the dialogue and vice versa.
occasionally ive scripted out dialogue beforehand (always with actions included within the script.) but even with a script what actually is said needs to adjust with whats been drawn. when i dont write with a script (which is the norm), its often while im drawing the next frame that im thinking over whats being said. typically i just go over and over a sentence mentally, adjusting bits until it feels right, looking at it once its written on the page and adjusting it more if necessary.
perhaps a bit vague? apologies! i do have certain mental rules i try keep in mind for each of the threes characters while writing. 'how would heart respond, how would he word this? mind? i cant word it this way because i know he doesnt do this...' <subconscious questions and thoughts but they are important to keep in mind. i find it the most helpful to keep the core traits i personally see in them in mind, and let those traits kind of... guide what is said. if i think of how that collection of traits and facets would respond to something, the vague concept that creates can then go through the filters of dialogue traits i have in mind for them. ...ehhh, put more simply... 'what is the general response this character would have to this situation' and then 'how would they structure that response through words and/or actions?'.
i, being who i am, cccc being what it is, am somewhat naturally inclined to writing grim and bleeding-brooding (nice word) things. i also consider myself to be quite a grounded person, which i hope comes through in my work! however, natural inclinations aside, cccc itself is quite a bleeding-brooding album (at least it is to me). its one about depression and self hatred and it really doesnt pull many punches in that respect. or at least, thats my read on it! as a result, that becomes reflected in my interpretation of hms. however, id also note that cccc is silly at times, theres humor in it. all good grim things need a bit of levity to really make it feel Real... people joke in the worst of times, not just the best, and it really helps in writing serious things to have just a little bit of joke to it, even if its not immediately noticable... this is hard to really give examples of honestly but it is relevant i promise. im unsure if youve read much of my writing aside from my comics, but theres just a bit of absurdity and humor in both my cccc pieces that would make the writing feel sorely lacking without in my opinion. notable with how violent and tense both those pieces are.
lots of words now! hopefully helpful ones B:•] or at least interesting! ill try write out some of the core traits and details i keep in mind when writing hms so as to give better reference points to all my prior words:
heart: reactive, not instigative. he doesnt start fights, he finishes them. he also doesnt need an insane amount of prompting to get going... but he does need prompting. apathetic, a bit fanciful. hes depressed, and not in a cute way. he talks casually but he uses serious words. no point in simplifying his language - he wants to be taken seriously, and while he makes himself look small and weak at times he is Not weak and he is Not small. hes just as much of a wordsmith as the other two. he covers his mouth when he speaks sometimes, and he puts his hand over his chest... a bit defensive? muffling his own input, but notably he still speaks. lies by omission or by twisting facts - if full honesty helps his case, thats what he uses. if a white lie works better... i personally see him as a bit of a planner too. sometimes his reaction to things is built up to; it never comes out of nowhere, even if it may seem like it.
mind: instigative, less reactive. he still reacts to things but hes generally the one starting shit and hes honestly very bad at Not talking shit. uses contractions. <this is a small one but mind says 'dont' and 'cant' and i dont think ive ever heard him Not use contractions to any notable degree. kind of weak! hes proud of himself, very proud of himself, and even in the moments of the album where theyre getting along he cant drop his superiority complex. hes bad at making compromises that put him as the lesser one. hes also quick to point blame and to lie (even if hes a bit roundabout abt it). hes also not That smart - or at least, hes not any smarter than the other two. he Thinks hes smart and hes quite confident about that but that doesnt actually mean hes right lol. aggressive verbally, passive physically. hypocritical.
both of them tend to see soul as an afterthought, or as something to benefit from. note the 'something', not 'someone'. imo, they dont really see him as a valid living entity in the same way they see themselves. speaking of soul...
soul: hes difficult. hes a difficult and complicated guy. vague, fanciful, depressed, suicidal, tired... i personally see him as quite passive. both passive and active... hes violent, towards himself and towards the others. just as they dont see him as an individual, i believe hes too apathetic and burnt out to see them as individuals either. when he threatens to hang himself, thats a direct threat to the two if them as well - and it functions as one, seeing as they are all linked in that way! his suicidality isnt purely self destructive in the way it would be in other story contexts which i find important to remember. i see him as someone who sleeps a lot... and as someone who is treated more like a tool than anything else. but he is, simultaneously, idealistic. he hopes for the best and would do anything (Anything.) to try and achieve it. he wants things to Get Better or to Stop. most of the time when i write or draw him its within the 'Stopping is the only option to Get Better' stage of things. hes tired and he doesnt want to deal with things but he has to and he doesnt want to and hes at the end of his rope. honestly within the album he feels a bit like a ghost. hes granted a similar level of personhood as the shadow of what could be, which is both more and less than mind and heart get.... hes confusing! hea a difficult guy. honestly you can take a lot of my notes and thoughts on his character with a grain of salt because hes always been such a puzzle to me haha. i find him easiest to convey in art... OH yes one last thought/trait is hes a bit... arrogant? hes tired and hes careless. listen to me or fuck off and die. arrogant. what a guy.
ahaaha this kinda became me just rambling about my reads on the three but.. hopefully helpful!! this is all stuff i try keep in mind when im writing and drawing them. theres certainly nuances ive missed and things i havent worded as well as i could, but you get the idea i hope! all of that informs how i write them and... in a way they almost lead me through the piece.
also! this isnt something i often think about because its just a natural part of the process, but sometimes i end up scrapping stuff! entire paragraphs, panels and poses, because it hits a stasis where i cant find any way for one or the other to continue the interaction - theres a distinct difference between this and the interaction hitting its ending point. if ive written one person saying or doing something and none of the parties involved are able to respond in any way at all, thats a sign that ive conveyed their characters wrong and i need to go back. people *always* have a response to something, whether thats continuing the conversation or leaving or anything. if none of them can come up with a response that feels like them, ive messed up somewhere. dont be afraid to go back and rewrite things.
ummm yeah thats all i can think of to say now! thank you for the question, and thank you for the nice words!! B:•∆ im very happy my comics come off the way youve described, and very happy youve enjoyed my work enough to want to ask me about it!! means a lot to me B:•] your rainworld iterator hms concept sounds swag as hell, id just say to keep at it!! from what youve shown here youve already got a great start B:•∆ thank you again! hope you and anyone else reading this has a good week!

I always see people who have never been antis, talking about/questioning how some antis even ARE antis when you look at their taste in media - ie the ever famous joke of "Hannigram is #problematique" "but it's a show where he eats people" or whatever.
I thought I'd weigh in as someone who could, hypothetically, be called an ex-anti (which, thankfully, nothing ever really came out of it - it was just very 2014 keyboardwarrior-esque behavior of me being a chronically online young adult who would share posts in a group chat making fun of certain shippers, or reblog posts about how 50shades is The Most Problematic Media Ever to exist -- basically I was an anti with anti-lines of thoughts, but i never, like, a ran a Shipping Discourse Blog or whatever)
For me, personally, it was a few different things. I can now see how it's incredibly hypocritical that teenaged me shipped Light/L, while still thinking that Dramione was Bad And Abusive. It ultimately boiled down to a) being pretentious, and b) just not understanding media or what proshippers REALLY believed, with a side of c) not realizing that nuance exists. like i was pretty late to join tumblr, I think I immigrated here during PEAK "yourfaveisproblematic" era which definitely did have an impact on my opinions and my tastes.
to elaborate, a.) being pretentious. i mean this one just kinda goes without saying. "I engage in media in a way more intellectual way than you do, don't you know that? You're a filthy and disgusting person who writes Snape/Hermione because you're an actually disgusting pedophile IRL who would probably date your own student that you're abusing if you could. Meanwhile, I'm a very smart, good, and pure person. When I read Uncle Vernon/Harry, I'm doing it in a G-d honoring whump way that clearly condemns abuse, incest, and rape. Unlike YOU who only writes harmful stuff as a way to get people off :/"
(as an aside, i think this line of thinking will ALWAYS be present in fandom and popculture in some way, sadly. ie the recent trend of people hating on booktok bc the books are 'trashy' and how these porn addicts should read real classic literature instead.)
as for b.), not understanding media - i cannot emphasize enough that i was GENUINELY stupid and disconnected enough to think that proshippers REALLY WERE pro-All Of The Degenerate Dead Doves That They Wrote.
why did i feel this way? why did i understand that Lolita clearly isnt pro-pedophilia, but for some reason i thought that someone shipping weecest was? well, first of all, i think that fanfiction is (generally) seen as Less Serious than classic literature, and fandom is a fun place, so i guess i somehow thought that every fanfic/fanartist who wrote Problematic Things, especially Problematic Things that they portrayed as Sexy, really DID enjoy the thought of that Actually Happening To Real People.
and i think THIS is the bulk of why antis ARE antis. i'm not calling them all stupid - i do think BEING an anti is stupid, but at the same time, there are people who are truly smart and good-intended people who just have some really off color opinions about, like, homestuck ships or whatever. Lawlight is okay because notebooks that kill people don't exist so it's IMPOSSIBLE for the Harmful Aspects of Light/L to be romanticized! but schoolyard prejudiced bullies DO exist and are a REAL problem so Drarry is BAD (*truly completely unaware of the fact that there's 'realistic' aspects of the Light/L dynamic and 'unrealistic' aspects of Drarry - such as, for example, Hogwarts arguably being even MORE of a fantasy setting than DN is.*) I know that media literacy is the hot buzzword of the year to throw around in 2024, but, like, i really did not have media literacy.
as for c.), not realizing nuance exists - ok "nuance" might not be the best word here, but i dont know how else to describe it. like, each time ive typed the word "problematic" out in this ask, i've done so in a very tongue in cheek/ironic/retroactive way, but, like, those posts about how Everything Is Problematic, Including Your Fave ARE true. and i didn't like the fact that my favorite media or favorite person might've Made A Mistake! i need to Talk About Its Issues Because I'm So Betrayed That My Dear Sweet Comfort Media Would Do This To Me. I Need To Prove I Clearly Condemn It.
like, i legit morally could not justify reblogging a twilight post without adding in the tags '#this is my guilty pleasure it sucks that the books were so racist though' or whatever. Most people were lucky enough to avoid that line of thinking, but there was an actual group of people who felt a genuine need to virtue signal all the time, partly bc, hey, they WERE passionate about talking abt #issues in media, but also bc of a subconscious fear of If You Reblog A Singular Piece Of Hetalia Fanart, You're Literally A Nazi And Will Get A Callout Post Written About You.
and during all of this i was at the tail end of my high school experience (yes i know im younger than most of your audience, ha). i was going through A Lot emotionally, going through a lot of life changes, and lived in a very . . . interesting household/place where i couldn't do ACTUAL good in the world that i was passionate about. so to make up for the fact that i was genuinely in no place to do legit activism, clearly i had to save the gay community by arguing about johnlock queerbaiting or whatever.
^ and honestly i do think that is the position of most antis. theyre isolated and cant seem to do Enough in the Real Scary World so they have to resort to talking about how bad of a person someone is for "shipping abuse", bc theyre not in a situation where they could, for example, ACTUALLY fight the good fight to end abuse or raise awareness for it.
There was way more to it and way more that I could say, if I wanted to, but this post is long enough as it is and probably doesn't make much sense.
I feel bad for antis, honestly, or at least the ones who are antis in the way I used to be.
--
Oh yes, passionate young fools who think they can at least fix the internet if not their lives make up most of the cannon fodder. Some of the ringleaders are just mini dictators and wannabe cult leaders, but most anti-leaning types are just traumatized or clueless, even a lot of the ones who do serious damage and don't just mock shit in private with their friends.

its now 11/12 in my game and im gambling like crazy in the palace and im here with goro akechi kills people theory: round 2
- so in his and joker's duel, the gun he uses definitely isn't the same one he uses normally. it appears more similar to the gun the man behind the slaughter used to shoot okumura (with his left hand and everything yk yk its all connected)
- as early on as the arcade he was joking about "taking joker out" (🤨🏳️‍🌈) which is exactly whats going on now with the duel and glove and all that. i think that means he's been planning to kill me (joker) for a long time, which makes sense with him lying about when he first went to the metaverse.
- so the biggest problem with this theory is that obviously the guy's mask isnt black like madarame said back in the day. i dont have a very good explanation aside from "ignore that part and it works", but i will mention it so everyone knows i didnt forget that. im also aware that when shooting okumura and in akechi's flashback the killer seems to have a vastly different outfit from akechi. my only defenses are again "go away dont ruin my theory" and also the phantom thieves can change outfits in the metaverse all the time.
- i just thought of something so MAYBE perhaps its based on cognition like our super cool outfits are in the first place. maybe he appears with a different outfit between okumura and sae's palace because, while both seeing him as a threat, okumura knows hes the killer and sees him as such while sae doesnt?? idk this part is literally all speculation i have zero proof
- ok this theory has been building up for a WHILE but i think shido's using him for political gain and ill elaborate on that. first off, i think his goal is to set the phantom thieves up as a huge threat and then very publicly defeat them to give the impression hes saving the people and get voters, effectively putting public trust in him and taking away any suspicion from the murders i think he was doing to anyone he saw as a threat before then.
- akechi works with sae niijima on the SIU (which i cant remember what that means in the slightest), which has a director who has been speaking repeatedly to someone. both of them know what the metaverse is by name, implying him and his mysterious caller are connected to a metaverse user who is obviously the killer (goro akechi is a metaverse user who's been so for at the very least longer than he lets on and is obviously the killer). siu director and the person hes talking to were very much involved with getting that principal killed. the person hes talking to is likely to be someone in power who hates the phantom thieves and that description fits shido.
- not much more evidence for that, ive been cooking up these theories for months so its really easy to forget details and take long held theories as facts when they could always be false. (example: i actually thought the casino was gonna be shido's palace for a LONG time and i was very surprised to learn it wasnt)

rpg maker vx ace is only free for another 25 hours!!!! if you want to make stupid and bad shit like this or maybe think you MIGHT want to fuck around with rpgmaker someday then i would recommend getting this!! i dont know how it compares to other engines but i can definitely say ive been having fun with it
info about the clip:
farmer sprites made by my friend clockman. i dont know if he has a tumblr or not
the pinkman joke probably wasnt that funny but it was one of my earliest ideas. i wanted to experiment with how to go about implementing a second party member and my thought process was "oh a pink man, to go along with the blue test character! a pink man. much like the boy from walting white."
i made almost all the visuals here! all character sprites (minus the farmer), all the tilesets, the battle background, also the shitty border around the text. i only didnt do the icons for PINKBLAST and FARMER'S DELIGHT. also the tileset for the first few seconds while i talk to TAXI is the default one, i didnt make it
all music is mine, aside from the victory jingle. i'm not experienced in making music so i only did stupid dinky little loops
this isn't gonna be a game if it wasnt obvious. this is me trying to figure out what i'm capable of creating. its also for making funny clips to show my friends.
this room is the most complicated thing ive ever managed to make in rpgmaker and its honestly very simple

After Leo took Leon to where the sink was, Don turned his attention fully to Raph and April. “Hey, Raphie. How are you feeling?” he asked, resting his hands on Raph’s knees and ignoring the way Raphael’s nose wrinkled and head pulled back at the nickname.
“Uhhh… okay,” Raph responded, nervous and semi distracted from looking around the room. Leon had said Donnie and Lil Mikey would be in the same room they were going to, so he wanted to see them for himself. They were a little distance away, but not far. Two of the beds on the opposite side of the room cradled their sleeping forms, and while they looked a little banged up their slumber still looked peaceful. Glancing down he saw that April had noticed them too, but still chose to stay by his side. Having scooted up onto the table next to Raph, April protectively wrapped her arms around his forearm to offer comfort for both of them.
“Considering your leg is broken and you look like you have a fever, that’s a really nice answer to hear,” Don chuckled, not minding April’s presence at all. “Aside from your leg hurting, can you tell me how you feel? Does anything else hurt? Are you cold? Was that a shiver?”
The questions came quickly, and Raph felt his brain break off into clouded static as they continued to be thrown at him. Watching Raph’s expression blank out, Raphael had to chuckle before resting a hand on Don’s shoulder to remind him to slow down. Thankfully Don obediently snapped his mouth shut to give Raph a chance to respond. “Yeah… a little cold. Head hurts a little too, but not bad. Mostly just my leg.”
“Okay, that’s not too bad then. It sounds like you probably have an infection, so if Leo doesn’t already have you on antibiotics we’ll add some to the saline IV once we get that started on you,” Don spoke gently, keeping his hands on Raph’s knees and rubbing slightly. “I’ll also have Raph - my brother- fetch a heated blanket for when we’re done. It shouldn’t take too long, but unfortunately it’ll still be longer than taking care of Mikey’s shoulder. About three to four hours. Are you going to be okay to lay still for that long? My brothers and father can keep you company.”
It was a little disorienting, hearing what Leon usually told him coming from someone else. And the mention of Lil Mikey having needed surgery before too was alarming. But Raph tried to keep that in the back for now. His job was to behave, and let people take care of him. He had to remind himself of that as he nodded at the question. “Yeah, I can do that…. Can April stay with me?” He didn’t want to be alone. Leon would be there, but he would be busy, and Raph wanted someone he could hug if he needed to.
“You bet I’m staying, big guy. They couldn’t force me to leave even if they wanted to,” April spoke up, her tone leaving no room for discussion.
Raphael had to snicker as one side of his suspicions for who April was were confirmed. He couldn’t figure out if she were the other dimension’s April, or Angel, her mannerisms being so fiery compared to Mom April. And being a kid herself, she obviously didn’t have kids of her own, so that was another difference from their dimension’s April. He hadn’t been expecting their version of April to be close to the same age as the brothers, but he was glad to see that she seemed just as emotionally close to them. If not more. He didn’t think Mom April had ever called them brothers. She was usually joking with Master Splinter about them being her kids.
Don could only snicker at the response too, and nod in agreement. “Sure, April can stay. And if either of your other brothers wake up and want to come over before we’re done they can stay too.”
It was calming to hear that, and Raph’s nerve stilled slightly at the reassurance.
When Don saw that Raph didn’t have additional questions, he continued to explain what would happen. “Your brother Leo will be helping fix you up, so you can ask him anything you want during the surgery. We’ll just be behind a curtain so you don’t have to see anything scary, and your whole leg below your knee will be numbed up. We’ll get your bones straightened back out, and secured in place with some titanium plates that we can remove later if you want. Then we’ll get the wound all cleaned and stitched up, and move you to the other beds to get some rest. Does that sound okay?”
It sounded simple enough, and Raph was grateful Don didn’t give him any more details than that. He didn’t need to know how they were going to set his bones back into place. Just that they were. “Yeah, I’ll be okay,” Raph nodded, trying not to be too nervous. Four hours was a long time to have someone messing with the inside of his leg, but with the others there he tried to be confident it would pass quickly.
“Great!” Don chimed, giving Raph another pat. “I’m going to follow Leo to get washed up then. We’ll be back soon. And Raph will stay here with you.” he informed, waiting for another nod from Raph and April before he headed to the sinks.
Once Don was away, April looked directly at Raphael. “What happened to my other brothers?” she demanded, keeping her voice level but firm.
Raphael had his brows raise in brief surprise, but then gave a slight grin folding his arms slightly. “...How old are you?” he asked instead, aiming to cater his answer based on how well he thought she could handle the information.
“Eighteen,” April answered quickly.
“A highschooler?” Raphael asked for clarification.
“College,” April corrected.
“Oh, congrats,” Raphael responded easily, taking a seat on the nearby stool once more and resting his hands on his knees. “They’re doing alright, just worn out. We had a little run in with a crazy scientist that roughed them up and poisoned them, but they’ve already been given the antidote several hours ago. Lil Mike also got caught in some crossfire, so Don and Leatherhead took the bullet out of his arm when we got back. And Lil Donnie is recovering from a bit of blood loss, but Lil Leo seems to think he’ll be fine after his ‘reboot nap’,” he explained, repeating the term Leon had used.
“Mikey got shot?!” Raph blurted, his level of concern immediately maxing out as he shifted anxiously. If he hadn’t already resigned himself to stay put before now he would have been on his feet and off to check on his littlest brother.
But Raphael was quick to raise his hands to reinforce keeping him where he was. “Yes, but it’s already taken care of. Other than keeping the bandages clean and letting him sleep there’s nothing more any of us can do,” he assured.
“Want me to go check on them?” April asked, a little quieter as she looked up to Raph. She personally wanted to check on them, but she also didn’t want to leave Raph alone if that ended up making him feel worse. He did ask for her to stay there earlier, but at her question he gave a worried nod. “Okay, I’ll be right back,” April assured, giving Raph’s arm a pat before wiggling off the table to head towards Lil Mikey. Leon had laid Lil Mikey on his back when he’d tucked him in, but Lil Mikey had already rolled over on his belly, face squished into the pillow he was hugging with one arm. His injured arm was limp next to him, and when April reached over to slowly rub his back a few times he drew a deep sigh of content as he smiled softly in his sleep.
Grinning slightly, April huffed a quiet laugh before she reluctantly pulled her hand away and quietly headed over to Donnie. She didn’t want to wake them, but it was hard not to touch them after everything. When she reached Donnie she noticed he seemed only slightly less peaceful than Lil Mikey, but also wasn’t a fitful rest. Resting a hand on his cheek earned a tiny noise from him as he wiggled his fingers barely far enough out of the blanket to grab onto her arm, and rolled into her hand. April chuckled again, grateful that the stress seemed to smooth a little more from Donnie’s features from the contact. She stayed where she was just a little longer so she didn’t wake him by moving too much in too short of time, but then reluctantly pulled away to be able to report back to Raph.
Clambering back up to Raph’s side, April confidently hugged his arm again. “They’re okay. But I’m sure they’ll love a snuggle buddy once you and Leo are done,” she assured once she was comfortable again. She didn’t have to say much more than that for Raph to know how his brother’s were doing. They were safe, but they probably still had some emotional distress they needed to get rid of.
They weren’t able to get any more conversation off before the other three returned, Leon and Don having sterile gowns on and gloves, and Leo keeping his distance from them. “Eyyyy Raphie, I heard Donasaurus gave you the rundown. You up for laying down and getting fixed up now? We’re ready when you are,” Leon chimed, his light steps and finger guns towards Raph betraying his bubbling excitement.
The new nickname for Don from Leon caused Raphael to snort and choke on his breath, letting out a mix between a laugh and a short series of coughs. “W-what?” he laughed, looking over to Don, who could only give a soft sigh.
“He found out I really like dinosaurs,” Don offered as an explanation, both embarrassed and mildly amused, letting Raphael suffer in his smothered laughter.
Raph gave a small chuckle at Leon’s enthusiasm, and tried to keep his anxiety from bubbling up again. “You seem excited,” he commented, trying to divert the attention away from himself.
“Course I’m excited. This has got to be the coolest thing I’ve done in my life so far. I’m sure something will top it eventually, but for now I’m going to revel in the experience,” Leon admitted lightly, coming to stand in front of Raph. “Plus I get to help my big brother feel better. How could I not be excited?”
The comment earned varying types of chuckles from the others, and Raph’s shoulders relaxed a little more once again. “Okay. Raph’s ready,” he agreed with a nod.
With some shuffling around they were able to get Raph laying on his back on the surgery table, having to adjust it to fit him better. April scooted to sit at his head, her lap acting as an extra pillow for now, until she got tired from sitting in one place and needed to move. And as the curtain was pinned up to obscure Raph’s lower half, Raphael scooted the stool over and leaned on his elbows, finally asking the question that had been in his mind for a while now. “So kid… you like wrestling?”
The way Raph’s eyes lit up at the mention of the performance sport, a deep gasp pausing his answer, caused Raphael’s mouth to spread into a huge smile. Oh yeah. Finally someone with taste. “Have you heard of Ghostbear?” Raph asked, almost in awe having someone ask him about wrestling.
“Nope. But tell me aaaaall about him,” Raphael admitted with a chuckle, making himself comfortable for the retellings Raph would get into. April could only give a grateful laugh, mildly surprised that it would be that easy to keep Raph distracted and watching him babble on with fondness. What started as enthusiastic retellings of their favorite wrestling matches ended up becoming show and tell as Raph remembered he had a few videos downloaded to his phone. They couldn’t look up anything he didn’t have, but it was still enough to get Raphael cheering along with him, wincing at some of the moves, and laughing at the hype. The videos from Raph just motivated them looking up more videos online, which made the hours pass easily. Eventually April had to wiggle out from under the pillow, but she still remained next to Raph as he and Raphael continued to gush about their favorite sport.

Random question. Do you think Baldwin would like puppies or kittens better
King Baldwin - Cats or dogs?
A/N: Mmmmh hard one, took me almost half a day to think about it😭😭 Loved the idea though, I think that this question and the reasoning behind its answer tell a lot about a person.
Couldn't find the name of the painting this time but the painter is by Henriette Ronner-Knip!!
Warning: puppies, but mostly kitties. Jokes aside I took the liberty of adding some historical inaccurate facts about cats' presence in medieval castles just to make the story more fit to my taste (not like historical accuracy is really the point of a fanfic but you get my point).
Tumblr media
I'm still really torn but I'd say that it depends on which time of his life that question is asked
If it's during his childhood and first youth, he'd say dogs with no hesitation. They're great companions and so full of life, he'd love to bring a few with him during his hunting trips. He would see his own sprout of energy mirrored in his pawed companions! I see him as owning at least two of them, maybe even more (having almost a pack of dogs was pretty much the norm in noble families)
Dogs are also perceived better by Christian society, as there were quite a few theologists who believed that cats where somehow tied to unholiness or even the devil himself
But as time goes by and his condition worsens, he can't bring himself to stand for so long, let alone play with the dogs or take them out while he rides his horse
He feels bad, though, at the sound of their whines as his servants shoo them out of his bedroom, while he lays motionlessly on his huge bed (in which he usually let them lay while he rested, much to his servants' dismay)
And it is right as he's left laying there, alone and with an aching heart at the loss of his dear friends, that he for the first time notices the gentle meow of his physician's cat. He never really acknowledged his existence, for he always seemed to make it his mission to be as invisible to the people in the room as possible
The cat looked him with mil interest: of course, he knew him, but Baldwin couldn't say the same. He had been silently studying the young king, as his master tended to his everlasting wounds, or as he distracted himself form his duties with a game of chess. All while Baldwin didn't even know that the cat was in the room in the first place
Their exchanged stare didn't last long, because soon the cat jumped swiftly on the bed, waggling his tail like an enchanted snake as he made a few steps on top of the covers
He inspects the space, undisturbed by Baldwin who can't bring himself to make even the slightest movement because of how exhausted his sickness makes him
Finally, the cat seems to find a spot to his liking, right on the spot between Baldwin's side and arm, which is splayed on the side of the bed
The cat makes a few circles before snuggling close to his clothed side, resting his head on his own tail and quietly purring himself to sleep, soon followed by the king himself
That was their first official encounter, one that changed Baldwin's answer at the question "cats or dogs"
He also came to find that apparently there were far more cats in palace
In his late years, he found in those cats a silent and delicate company, it created a space in which he could let go of everything and just bask into the presence of those little balls of fur
And they are so agile and elegant in their movements, he enjoys watching them move around his room, jumping from a surface to the other like it's nothing; he feels like he can move and live through them
And he misses them oh so badly when they leave his chamber to go hunt for food or to simply explore the palace, but as they happily walk back in his room and curl up to rest all over his bed and desk, he almost feels like they're telling him all they've seen during the day simply through their eyes
And that is how Baldwin IV was born a dog person, only to die surrounding his death bed with cats

the spirits of the forest have been speaking. They desire me as a sacrifice, but inkblade headcanons will save me. Will you please help??
Oh dear spirits of the forest please extend your kindness and spare my friend for i have brought you these humble offerings of inkblade headcanons for your liking and possibly, entertainment. 🙏 Okay first of all, ive had too many that it is now like a separate (canon to ME) timeline from the actual show but!!!
first and foremost we all think this: oisin hakinvar is a lover boy. truly the most, down bad i-will-worship-the-land-you-walk-in lover boy. adaine would talk about wanting to pummel him (rage crystaled oisin) in the face for what he did and he'd be okay with that. only if its her.
he is also, lovingly, a boy failure. he'd be the type to work himself up into that cool persona we saw him at the first seacaster party.
i had this one canon complicit idea that adaine would actually pursue him post party in the way that, as a person who has always put herself aside for everything, for her family, for her friends, she'd let herself have this one time to actually want something, someone. and i trust that adaine is a freaking vault that nobody would actually know until its too late. ⛈️(this is supported by the fact that we only saw adaine's full devastation once that sending spell came. our girl was holding out hope for him even after knowing he was a rat grinder and all the other allegations to their name)
on a lighter note, oisin would definitely text her out of nowhere at night "what type of ice cream flavor do you like?" while he's out at a convenience store. he'd definitely cast fly on himself to be able to deliver the goodies up on her wizard tower :)
following a mutual on twt's headcanon of adaine picking up embroidering, id think she'd definitely be lowkey in confessing or more so admitting how she feels. like perhaps, fixing a spot in oisin's clothes by embroidering a flower of love (purple lilacs, they mean first love)
id love for adaine and oisin to get matching wizarding tattoos once they get together, the type where they get an even extra buff if they're within a certain proximity to each other!! would literally be so cool!!
thinking of adaine playfully punching oisin after hearing his cringey joke by going "what, no furious fists this time?"
its canon to me that oisin in his public social media will barely post while having his priv (with only ivy in it) to react to adaine's public selfies (loser)
oh and oisin's feelings for adaine (that in rage crystal mode got warped into obsession) is definitely definitely connected to dragonborns having traits deeply rooted to honor and how at the pursuit of excellence it only takes another more talented strong wizard for oisin to take notice of our girl.
i totally word vomited this is a lot and i dont think i have said everything but i dont know how else to say anything i hope this helped free you anon! stay away from the spirits of the forest next time!!

Bit ooc but I have a question. How you do go about planing out your PLA comic? Like how do you actually turn your ideas/ storyline into comic form? Is it chapter to chapter or do you have the whole idea already planned out? Trying to find my own way in comic making so I’m just wondering if you could give any advice. Feel free to ignore if you don’t feel comfortable answering
So, at first this was al i could think to send.
Tumblr media
because its incredibly accurate to my process.
Jokes aside, a lot of how i work is back and forth chaos, fighting with ideas until im happy with them. I will start with a list (usually not written down because im unhinged and keep a ot of it in my brain) and organise it in a way that makes sense to the situation, in this case workign with a game with an established plot...not that its a very strong one.
with a set of ideas, and a game to work around i will ramble and rant to a few choice people who i bounce well off, and also stare into space for hours on end building the ideas. This process can be days, it can be years. For context, i have some notes from 2019 about things i wanted to include that are still relevant. I have been scheming how to break and rebuild this OC for ages. Theres no correct time frame, so long as you simply do the work.
Once i have a fairly loose plan, i start to solidify the benning and the end. What is required to make a character compelling, what makes them believable, what makes them human in a way that we recognise. this isnt always a positive thing, people like to call characters who do bad things problematic, but its human nature to make mistakes and be damaged or difficult, the process of the story is not always rainbows and sunshine. For me, this hits even harder, as im trying to tell a story from the perspective of someone fundamentally broken, so showing those breaks and cracks has to be done wisely.
This is the point where i make notes about things that need to change from the start to the end. And ill say one thing, this story in particular, I have not solidly planned the middle. I am allowing space for me to come up with new ideas at points. Being locked into a dead set of ideas can be quite limiting, and as creators we consume and process things constantly to generate new stories. Id be a fool to make a plan and stick to it. everything i do is vague guidelines.
However, I know exactly how the story ends in Hisui, and where it goes to from there. And i think me personally knowing the end goal makes it easier to plot steps towards that, and some of those steps are anything but progressive.
If nothing else, the end was the only thing i saw clearly, and it has only become more complex and loaded and emotional as the rest of this has fallen into place. If you can see the goal, you can work out how to get there with time.
Regarding the chapters, i tend to draft plan up like 3-4 of them at a time, and then go in order to sketch out one after the other, so i have plenty of time to change things while i adjust. its constantly a process of seeing what you make, seeing issues, and scrapping whole parts just to redraw something better or new, unique even. I dont think a single page ive posted has resembled the very VERY first draft thumbnail ive made, and thats just how i do. Every panel, how big they are, the angle you hand the viewer, the way you light things, the expressions, this all dictates SO SO much.
Taking time over it is kind of the job, and let me stress, this is normally a job done by a team, especially the highly popular comics. one inks, one colours, one shades, one handles text, one edits, theres so many people behind it, so dont be bothered by the pace at which things are made if youre working alone like i am. One person means longer production times, if you can, spread the workload out, but its not required. Its why i always say it doesnt matter how long it takes to make, so long as youre still making.
I think its also worth noting, comics are consumed quickly, the bakcgournds and small details can be lost in the ace of the storytelling, pick and choosing your battles is wise, save your time on panels where you want the reader to shift along quicker, keep that pace high, and add in more detail and depth to panels you want to champion or get the viewers to hang around on more. its ok to let go of a "perfect" image in favour of getting content out, if youre being driven nuts by it. Again, time be damned, be happy with it. And if you can let go of petty details, id suggest doing it when possible, so long as it doesnt effect the storytelling.
I mean what else can i even say. This work is a passion project, I love it, more than i can even put into words, and i think you kind of have to, to make comics without monetary motivation. sure you can get lucky and find ways to make it big, but for most of us, its the love of the story. So maybe try not to be your biggest hater, its easy to slip into the behaviour, so try be gentle on yourself and the process. I should take that advice myself haha! but i really do mean it. This is HARD work, so be kind to yourself over it.
anyway, with a rough idea, a bunch of sketches, and time, they get inked and fussed over, i make a billion changes to layout and story, and eventually posting can happen but not after fighting with the monster that is creating. Idk what else i can say. This is not work for the feint of heart, but anyone can learn to do it.
Good luck, comic artists can always use it!
