Hey Berreh, I recently watched episode 101 of TMA. I have some mixed feelings about the ending. I'm not sure if you allowed spoilers on this blog. There might be a few people that still haven't seen the episode yet. I'll try to be vague as possible. (If you don't feel comfortable in replying on ask, you can message me. )

Originally when I started listening to TMA, I was invested in JonMichael and JonElias because of your fanart. I thought that Michael and Jon would have more interactions and Helen and Michael would be some silly distorted version of Team Rocket (since I saw some people drawing them together). I didn't expect what happened in this episode.

I know you're interested in JonMichael, but I'm curious. Do you think that despite the limited amount of time that Michael and Jon encountered each other, could it still be possible for them to hook up? I know it sounds dumb since there's always AUs and people can experiment with the ship, but I wish there's more interactions between those two.

Also, how did you start shipping Jon and Michael? Did it came from the canon? The fandom? Or was it both?

I don't think its silly at all ahah, you're not alone in wishing jon and michael interacted more at all! My shipping of them came from both ofc, I believe it stemmed from this animatic my friend showed me and it kind of snowballed from there. I've always been a sucker for monster/human relationships, its my favourite dynamic hands down, so it only felt natural to start shipping it ahah. I feel like I've never actually been in a properly established fandom where it can Actually Be A Thing!!

Michael suddenly become my Special Little Boy who could do No Wrong, Surely, and with Jon, er... well he's got that prey vibe going for him you know. Lol. (i love Jon a lot okay. A Lot A Lot. Jon/Michael/Elias are on constant rotation in my brain)

I miss Michael a lot, there was just something about his character that has a strangle hold on me. I can't really explain it, but he feels like something that is so deeply angry and hurt and betrayed and there is no vindication or relief because suddenly there is Helen, and Michael is No More. And don't get me wrong, i love Helen a lot!!!! Helen as the Distortion is NOT what Michael was at all, Helen is what the Distortion wished to be but could not. Helen is comfortable in her existence in a way that Michael Never Was, and that just makes me really sad lmao

Anyway, sorry for rambling. If it isn't clear I like Michael A Lot. I like michael with Jon ofc, and Elias and Gerry despite them having no canon interactions, but its all so vague that you never know!!! Maybe they did!!!!

I have like, two absolutely FAVOURITE michael/jon fics I would recommend. One I think you can read since that's where you're around in canon? The other I would wait til you've finished the series since it encompasses it all (and its LONG!!!!!)

Pay the Piper by NeverwinterThistle was the first to grip me, it was such a delight!!!!

And Eat it, Too by Trin had me on the edge of my seat and unable to put it down the entire time. Made me squeal a lot lmao. I blasted through it So Fast, I couldn't put it down. (but yeah you should probably wait to finish the series before you read it)

Howdy! I'm 25NB lookin' for 21+ writers to really dive deep into roleplays involving dark academia, horrifying eldritch monsters, and weird occult bullshit.

For instance, I FINALLY brought myself to listen to the last 20ish episodes of The Magnus Archives last night. It destroyed me. I'm down for post-canon stuff, but I'm most in the mood for something set during S2/S3. I'd like to play Jon, Michael, Mike Crew, Tim, or Martin. Fuel my JonMichael (both michaels) agenda and I will love you forever.

The Malevolent podcast is in a similar boat, I'd like to RP John, Hastur, or Arthur, or even OCs following a similar premise. I love the 'eldritch demon sharing my body' trope, but if that is difficult to RP we could split them up.

Bloodborne is kicking my ass, but I love the vibes and the lore too much to stop. I'd like to play Micolash, Laurence, or human!Rom for some pre-canon shenanigans, but I've also been developing a Hunter OC for more general purposes!

Bring me whatever character YOU would like to play! With two caveats: For shipping, I only do M/M and M/NB, but will do general plots with characters of all genders. I vastly prefer CCxCC or OCxOC, but will do OCxCC if it's M/M and I like the vibes.

Favourite character: Oh, you know.

Least favourite character: I want to say Jude because I hate the Desolation, but I recently relistened to her statement and... she has rights. I suppose Martin, currently. To think that he used to be my second favourite... 😔

Five favourite ships (canon or non-canon): Jonelias, Jonah's harem, Lonelyeyes, Janemichael (TFW only 1 fic on AO3), and Jonmichael.

Character I find most attractive: Do I even have to say it? 😳 The king of a ruined world, the pupil of the Eye, the beating heart of the Institute.

Character I would marry: A part of me wants to say Elias because yes, while another, more sensible part of me wants to say Jon because he'd treat me right.

Character I would be best friends with: I think Jon, especially during the first three seasons.

A random thought: While the horror (especially in the first four seasons) is really good, a couple of the Vast statements sound more like life goals than horrible fates.

An unpopular opinion: Elias is the best character in the whole thing and I unironically want him to win. He's evil and funny and his voice makes me smile.

My canon OTP: Benoît Maçon/Beetle wife.

Non-canon OTP: I'm very indecisive about this one, but after yesterday's episode, let's say Jonelias.

Most badass character: I h8 to answer this for so many questions, but, I mean... Elias using his eye powers to outmanoeuvre his opponents whilst barely lifting a finger? Elias brutally murdering Leitner with a lead pipe? Elias shooting Gertrude? Amazing. King.

Pairing I am not a fan of: What's the expression about bats and hornets? Honestly, it's been a while since the last time I vibed with Jonmartin. Even before I started having my doubts about Martin's characterization, I agreed with Peter in that they don't know each other, not really. How can you love someone you don't know? Jon's crush also went right over my head, though that may be a me problem.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Martin in acts 2 and 3 of season five. 😔

Favourite friendship: Can I say Jon and the Admiral? If not, Jon and Georgie in season three.

A random headcanon: 

michael shelley was never ‘normal’ per se, even before the spiral. he was autistic and adhd and he never fit neatly into other people’s reality no matter how hard he tried. and GOD did he try. he tried so hard to fit in and get people to accept him. he took care of everyone at the expense of himself.

also he wasn’t out to many people as being trans, and even though he self-identified as nonbinary and didn’t always feel comfortable with being 100% masculine, he didn’t want to stand out and so he shoved down that dysphoria.

he also had some degree of toxic relationship with his parents, which is why he bonded so hard so fast with gertrude. she saw his insecurities and unmet needs and played him easily with the whole grandmotherly dynamic she took with him. like the distortion said - he genuinely trusted her and cared about her. he never saw it coming.

General Opinion over said character:

i just adore it! i think jonny sims did a great job with its character and i wouldn’t have it any different, though i would really really love to see it come back in season 5 👀👀👀 and though i love the way he was portrayed in canon, i equally love fans’ different interpretations too

(other than that, i think both jonmichael and sashamichael have the potential to be super interesting if done well! esp jonmichael bc 1. they’ve got lots of canon interaction to build off of, and 2. enemies to friends to lovers is always fun. off the top of my head i can’t really think of a plot idea to make it work in the way i’d want but hmm it has potential yes)

nOTP - i wouldn’t call this a notp really but i think i’ve seen some michael/martin on ao3 and i just? do not understand that? the only interaction martin really has with michael iirc is when he’s trapped in the hallways i think, and that doesn’t seem especially conducive to romantic chemistry imo lol

random headcanon - michael shelley studied philosophy in college. this one works mostly in the context of my fanfic but i feel very strongly about this! he’s so dramatic and abstract about things it just feels right

unpopular opinion - not necessarily ‘unpopular’ but since michael’s timeline is so fucked up i tend to go with the interpretation that would make him younger overall

i’m currently obsessed with the fact that jon and martin spent three week in domestic bliss in a scottish safe house so have a headcanon i’m working into my fic: the safe house doesn’t have running water so they have to do all of their laundry at the laundromat in town. they both hate folding so they agree to take turns but it usually turns into both of them doing it together, shoulders brushing where they stand collide together at one of the folding tables (i’ve got a lot of repressed feelings about the intimacy of doing laundry together)

i’m still really committed to the writing au i thought up a while ago, where all of the archives staff are writers, jon writes nonfiction about supernatural history (so does melanie, they’re rivals) but secretly writes sci-fi/paranormal fiction, martin writes poetry and high fantasy, sasha writes adventure novels, tim writes nonfiction travel/outdoors guides, basira and daisy cowrite detective fiction, etc. elias is their super shitty editor. i know nothing about writing books.
